Traveling to New York, and I think everyone at the hotel got the memo to work out, so all I had was a small corner, but, I made it work and had one of the best Glutes Workouts.
8-12 reps x 4 sets
1. Seated Good Mornings
2. Clamshells with thrusts
3. 1 1/2 straddle squats
4. Reverse lunges
5. 1 1/2 hip thrusts

#Repost @chiara_pugliesi • • • • • • Salford Quays How to engage your glutes more during your leg workouts ⬇️ . ✅ Spend extra time warming up - you want to make sure you wake those muscles up properly and get them all ready for your session. Spend some time doing banded exercises such as fire hydrants, banded squats etc. This step is key when you are lifting heavy . ✅ Play with your foot stance. Sometimes slightly rotating your feet outwards or taking a wider stance will help you target your Glutes more so make sure you play with the position of your feet to find out which one works more for your body . ✅ Add isometric holds to your exercises. For example during the eccentric phase of your squat (when you descend down) squeeze and hold for 3 seconds , same thing for hip thrusts (when you squeeze at the top hold for 3 secs) . ✅ Pre-exhaustion technique. I tend to do just 1 set of a quick banded exercise before a really heavy lift. I’ll admit my weakest point of my body has historically been my glutes. Years ago I always wanted a butt to be proud of. I heard terrible advice that I need to feed my butt, meaning eat and eat. Now that might work in some aspects. If you gain fat and shove it in a tight pair of jeans it may look nice. But it’s still fat. I worked with my coach who is king of glute building. Over the last three years I’ve worked using exercises that take my glutes through a full range of motion and stimulate the different types of muscle fibers appropriately. Despite a max hip thrust last year (videos on FB and IG) of 405, the regeneration of my discs due to previous injuries years prior has made me focus on new ways to grow my glutes. Just under a month now until I step on stage again.
