Until I can reliably answer asks again (will still be some time) I will publish posts like the following to work out some thoughts (provocative or stupid) on various SMT topics that catch my interest. Plus, i need to get my writing skills back into shape.
One such stupid thought when Doi's new Glasya-Labolas was revealed was, "Glasya-Labolas is supposed to have the wings of a griffin and SMT already has Gryphon designs: the standalone dude from SMT1 and the one Murmur rides from Soul Hackers; for internal consistency, shouldn't that mean the new Glasya-Labolas should have wings like these pre-existing forms? This is not a good line of thought for various reasons, including:
a griffin is already a hybrid creature, its own wings are just an eagle's wings.
G-L's probably art deco wings are an inspired choice.
Said wings complement the focus of the design: the mask.
The mask captures the essence of the Dictionnaire print's expression in a novel form.
As Doi himself comments: "Glasya-Labolas is said to be a dog-shaped demon with griffon-like wings. He is also depicted as a dog with a unique face in the illustration for Hell's Dictionary. If I designed it normally, it would end up with an evil character similar to the griffon shown in this illustration, so I felt that although it was faithful to the original, it would lack interest. Therefore, we decided to incorporate our own interpretation into the appearance of this work in order to give it some originality." and "Next, regarding the face that was featured in the Hell's Dictionary illustration that I mentioned earlier, I thought about how I could create an interesting design that would take advantage of this unique facial feature.
Many of the demons that appear in Goetia have two sides, and this is true for Glasya-Labolas.It has one side that threatens to kill humans, and another side that is like a teacher who imparts learning. Therefore, in order to express these, I made the face a mask, and by turning it upside down, I was able to express both the eerie face of a devil and the gentle face of a teacher."
Tumblr media
So despite my initial negative reaction to the design, it's since won me over and is definitely Doi's best Goetia demon yet. And lastly, "dog with wings" has already been done in smt:
Tumblr media
...Even if Marchosias probably has little chance of returning anytime soon. And Even if he did, Glasya-Labolas is quite distinct from him.

Note
So the Qaditsu’s pet attack dog is Glasya-Labolas as VeskScans found out.
This guy is a little freak!!!
Tumblr media
Glasya-Labolas was certainly not the first name that entered my mind. It's not terrible, though. I think this sort of ornamentation is fine for the less striking Goetia, especially when it's this art deco bullshit on an organic frame, and it does communicate the really insane expression of the Dictionnaire design.
Tumblr media
The 'mask' looks fairly specific, so I'd like to see a source come up in the commentary. I would have gone all in on West Asia or the ancient Near East, if I didn't know better. Bizarre.

25-GLASYA-LABOLAS
Enn:Elan tepar secore on ca Glasya-Labolas
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Twenty-fifth Spirit is President/Earl Glasya-Labolas. He appears in the form of a dog with wings like a gryphon. A spirit of divination. He teaches all arts and sciences in an instant, and is an author of bloodshed and manslaughter. Glasya Labolas can be evoked to keep what you’re doing a secret from others. To make you "invisible". He teaches all things past, and to come. If desired he causes the love both of friends and of foes. He can make you wise to what is really going on around you and can make your friends and enemies unsuspecting. You can work with him for execration/binding. He has under his command 36 legions of spirits.
Call upon Glasya-Labolas for
⬩Art and sciences
⬩Divination
⬩Keep secrets
⬩Make you unnoticeable "invisible"
⬩Ask him what else he will work with you on⬩
⊱•━━━━━━⊰In Ritual⊱━━━━━•⊰
You can use
Enn:Elan tepar secore on ca Glasya-Labolas
Sigil:Posted above
Plant:Rosemary
Incense:Storax
⬩Orange candles or objects
⬩Ask Glasya-Labolas what he likes⬩
⬩It is important to learn protections before trying to work with any spirits. You can get tricksters and parasites if you don't.
Cleansings- cleaning your space of negative energies. You can burn herbs or incense for this.
Banishings- forcing negative energies out of your space. The lesser banishing ritual is one of the most commonly used.
Warding- wards keep negative energy out of your space. Amulets, sigils and talismans do this.
Set up a your space and do a cleanse and banishing. Have wards up in your home. Meditation is to calm yourself and get your mind ready. The sigil (symbol) is what you draw on paper. The enn is what you chant or say to call forth the spirit.⬩

Getting into whb after having been obsessed with Magi for a good while is wild. Because sometimes you look at a devil like Sitri, or Andrealphus and it's all fun and games, right? But then. Then you see characters like Leraye, and you get all of the war flashbacks. My head has been consistently like this with every new overlapping devil-djinn I saw, and while I tried to keep it to myself, here's a small, visual representation of what my thought process is like

Seven Years In Darkness. It’s Harry Potter, but good! Gorgeous illustrations accompanying this story following first year students at an academy for black magic. Ritual occultists will love this one, the creator did his homework. I had my copy of the Goetia on hand while reading!

Day 26: Blue Mountains Panther
(Here's a real prompt entry. I decided to go back to the goetic demons since I'd felt the itch to use them again, especially with that remark about alien big cats with Flauros. As for who's who: Barbas is Thibetanus, Camio is AshestoAshes, and Bellicose is Glasya-Labolas.)
Thibetanus> Ose’s having a fit again. AshestoAshes> So? Let him wear himself out like usual. Thibetanus> He escaped into the mortal realm again. Bellicose> Really? Damn, hope he’s eating good. Tell him to come back with a human body this time. AshestoAshes> Any idea where he went? I can hop up to Britain to keep an eye on him. Thibetanus> No need, I already asked Agares to send Looker out. I should hear back from him soon. AshestoAshes> Good thinking. I don’t really want to bother searching all of the United Kingdom for one cat. Especially not after I finally got my new nest set up. Bellicose> Sweet, mind if I use it as a barbeque? I’ve been craving some grilled arms recently. AshestoAshes> Of course not. You always grab humans when they’re way too fresh. The blood will just extinguish the fire. Instead, I’ll just send some of my collection over to you. You’re the expert on grilling here anyways, what if I were to mess up your recipe? Bellicose> Good point. Forgot you’re the one that’s good at arguments. AshestoAshes> My reputation precedes me. Thibetanus> He’s not in Britain. AshestoAshes> Really? He always goes to Britain. That’s where the ABC sightings go. Thibetanus> Somewhere in that muddled brain of his apparently decided to switch things up a little. He’s in Australia. Sydney to be exact. AshestoAshes> SYDNEY? Great, he’s going to cause a wave of big cat sightings there soon enough. Thibetanus> Good news, he hasn’t done too much damage. Just some animal mutilations. Bellicose> Aw come on! Thibetanus> Looker seems to be keeping a good eye on him. Agares says Looker will pick him up once the fit is over. AshestoAshes> What even prompted it this time? Thibetanus> Apparently he thought it was a good idea to curse an entire office meeting with his spells. AshestoAshes> Don’t tell me. Thibetanus> Yep. Now they’re all on power trips. AshestoAshes> Will he ever learn? Thibetanus> I think he refuses to. Bellicose> What he should do is bring back some good human meat sometime! Thibetanus> Why not go get it yourself if you’re that desperate? Bellicose> Good idea! I’ll check the torture chambers. (Bellicose has logged out) AshestoAshes> Why did he even sign on to this chat? Thibetanus> Who knows. I’ll call Titivillus to let him and his team know to keep an eye out around Sydney for any signs of the creation of a cryptid. AshestoAshes> At least someone here knows responsibility. Thibetanus> I try to be.

Using Latin Chants To Summon Daemons: A Daemonolatry Info Post
Tumblr media
This is something I've been wanting to make a post about for a while, but I completely forgot to write about it lol. It's been sitting in my drafts for forever now, thanks to my clusterfuck of an AuDHD brain. 🤪 I FINALLY got it finished though, so here it is!
Tumblr media
Okay so I've been summoning daemons using Latin for quite a while now, and I thought I'd write about it because I figured other practitioners might like to try this out too!
Full post under the cut. ↓
Tumblr media
~ What's The Deal With Latin?
Daemons have long been stereotypically associated with the Latin language. But why is this? Well, I speculate that it's partially because of the fact that many historical books on demonology and witchcraft were written in Latin (e.g. grimoires such as the Ars Goetia and Liber Officiorum Spirituum).
However, the link between daemons and Latin goes back further than this. It's most likely and primarily due to the fact that the Roman Catholic Church retained Latin as its liturgical language. Many of their scripture and rites (including the ones regarding exorcisms of mainly "demonic spirits") remained written in Latin. And so, daemons starting being conflated with the Latin language as a whole.
Tumblr media
~ Why Summon Daemons In Latin?
Nowadays, Latin is a rather obsolete language and isn't largely spoken in most parts of the world anymore. As a result, some people may find that it adds an extra layer of mysticism between the practitioner and their magical workings. Given how ancient the language is (as well as its associations with daemons and The Devil in the modern day), this can give it more subconscious power when used in your craft.
I've personally found it helpful to evoke/invoke daemons in Latin, and I find that it helps me connect with them better.
Tumblr media
~ Why Not Just Use Enns?
Personally, I don't like to use the well-known enns to conjure daemons. From what I know, the demonic enns seem to originate from the works of S. Connolly, and I'm not a huge fan of her books in general... Personally I feel that a lot of the information in her books is poorly researched, and that the Dukante stuff and demonic enns are likely fabricated, and I find that she's just a highly problematic and culturally-appropriative person in general, which tends to show within her books (in my personal opinion; don't sue me ffs). So I try to stay away from her stuff, as I'm paranoid that it might potentially negatively effect my craft.
This is one of the reasons why I actually came up with Latin chants to conjure daemons in the first place; I like the idea of demonic enns, but I personally just don't want to associate with any of Connolly's stuff whatsoever. But that's just me though. If you like using the enns and it works for you, that's okay! It's just not personally my thing.
Tumblr media
~ How To Summon Daemons Using Latin
I came up with a specific type of Latin chant that can be used to summon daemons; It's called a vocatum.
The word "vocatum" literally means "called", "invoked", or "having been summoned" in Latin. A vocatum can be iterated as a chant in order to invite or request the daemon's presence, as well as to help you get into a meditative state so you can communicate with the daemon better. You could also just say the vocatum once, if that personally suffices for you.
Here are some daemonic vocatums I have personally come up with and used in my own practice:
~ Simplified Vocatum ~
✧ Vocatum: "Ave [Daemon's Name], vos invoco/evoco." ✧ Translation: "Hail [Daemon's Name], I invoke/evoke you."
✰ Example: "Ave Satanas, vos invoco."
~ Complex Vocatum ~
✧ Vocatum: "Salve, [Daemon's Name]. Magnus [Rank], reverenter vos invoco/evoco." ✧ Translation: "Greetings, [Daemon's Name]. Great [Rank], I reverently invoke/evoke you."
✰ Example: "Salve, Glasya-Labolas. Magnus Comes, reverenter vos evoco."
🌟 Note: Use "invoco" for invocations and "evoco" for evocations.
Here is a short list of the Latin translations for the daemons' ranks (mostly from the Ars Goetia):
King/Queen - Rex/Regina
Duke/Duchess - Dux/Ducissa
Prince/Princess - Princeps/Principissa
Marquis/Marchioness - Marchio/Marchionissa
Earl/Count/Countess - Comes/Comitessa
President - Praeses
Knight/Sir/Dame - Miles/Dominus/Domina
Tumblr media
~ Difference Between Invoking And Evoking
Many people may consider evocation and invocation to be the same thing, but personally I differentiate the two. Here is my personal gnosis on the differences between them:
☆ Evocation is when you call upon a deity or spirit and ask them to preside during rituals or magical workings; You're basically asking them to come and hang out with you in your space.
☆ Invocation is more so a form of voluntary possession. You're inviting them into yourself, and they are (partially) merging their being with your own; They are manifesting within you, instead of manifesting alongside you.
If you're a beginner practitioner, I would personally hold off on invoking daemons before getting to know them better through evocation first; But that's just me. Some daemons' energies can be very intense and quite overwhelming, especially if you haven't met the daemon before.
E.g. Upon making first contact with Quing Paimon, I invoked them instead of evoking them, and their energies were quite heavy and overwhelming when they partially merged their soul with mine; I ended up feeling a little dizzy, became mentally exhausted rather quickly, and also got a mild headache (but maybe the headache was just from the incense I was burning LOL). I've had similar experiences with Count Glasya-Labolas too.
But once you get to know a daemon and adjust to their energies overtime, you should be fine. Please don't let my personal experiences discourage you from pursuing a relationship with the daemons you feel most drawn to!
Tumblr media
Welp, that's pretty much all I had to write about regarding this topic. I hope you found this post helpful! And, as always... May you be blessed by whoever it is that you venerate, and I wish you all the best on your spiritual path. <3

Ars Goetia List
this list and ranking is taken from the Ars Goetia. Different than the rankings of previous grimoires.
───────────────────────────────────────
This page is focused on providing information of each spirit listed in the Ars Goetia not limited to information from other grimoires. Provided there are some basic general information about what they are about, help with, and what can be used in offering and or rituals for them. You must know basic protection and working with energy and grounding before attempting to contact any spirit( I will soon provide information about that and link it here). You should also do your research about these spirits before contacting them.
