Jonathan Nolan 🤝 Creating Something-Hate-to-Love-to-Hate-to-What-The-f-is-that Twisted Relationships between multidimensional characters in parallel with moral convention questioning what makes us humans
P.S. I’m still barely over the twist of the first season of Westworld and Dolores x (won’t name the character in case you haven’t seen the series WATCH IT STRONGLY RECOMMENDED). Thus in contrast to those who hated the ending of the series I was like “OH SHIIIIIIT HERE WE GO AGAIN YES EVERYONE LIVES, THEY’LL BE TOGETHER SHE’LL FIX IT” Sorry for my kind of miserable opinion which downplays the merits of ideas in Westworld. Honestly, I love the philosophy there no less than storylines.

Fallout Season 2 imagine...
[spoilers & Ghoulcy undertones]
In New Vegas...
The Ghoul/Cooper has been warming up to Lucy during their journey and when they reach New Vegas he gets very protective of her (although he tries to keep it subtle at first).
Even so, Lucy has been learning and growing in her endurance towards the Wasteland and the constant challenges they face, so much so that when some shady characters try to make a pass at her (for her beauty and apparent vulnerability), she manages to surprise Cooper by holding her ground before he has time to intervene (either through hard-headed wit or combat), and she walks on with a proud smug on her face, with Dogmeat zigzagging behind her and wagging her tail.
The shady characters (or any of them left standing/alive) remark in awe of the woman, incredulous of what just happened (somewhere along the lines of 'what a woman!') and Cooper holsters his weapon while proudly holding his gaze towards Lucy's retreating form, but not before replying to the said shady characters in his top notch sarcasm and southern drawl:
You have no idea. Bite your head off, man.
-----
(See what I did there?...😏...bite + head? Given that Cooper knows well enough what she's capable of....😁)
(This retort has been in my head since I first binged the show a few weeks ago, and is taken from Ghostbusters 1984, see clip below, delivered brilliantly by Bill Murray)
P.s. Feel welcome to write fanfic around it, and I look forward to reading it. 😉👍

Summary: The meeting of our main characters. Ruby & “The Ghoul”. Ruby has escaped her vault and a bounty hunter is hot on her trail.
Warnings: MINORS DNI, THIS FIC WILL BE 18+, Violence (at this stage).
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
The Ghoul was wandering through the desolate wasteland, the relentless sun beating down on his weathered face, his eyes locked on the distant horizon. You were hiding behind the corroded husk of an abandoned car, watching him intently.
This Ghoul wasn't feral; his movements were far too deliberate. He walked like someone with a purpose, as if seeking something specific amid the desolation.
Crouched low behind the derelict vehicle, your heart was racing. Was he here for you? You had to escape the vault, and you'd do anything to avoid going back.
The Ghoul continued his slow, deliberate pacing, his senses on high alert despite his casual demeanor. His body was relaxed, yet poised to strike at a moment's notice. As he passed by your hiding spot, you held your breath, praying he wouldn't notice you. He paused, and for a moment, you thought he was going to turn and see you, but his attention shifted to something else, and he continued walking.
You let out a sigh of relief, but it was short-lived. His footsteps stopped, and you heard him turning back. "C'mon out, wherever you are," he called, his voice playful yet edged with menace. " I don't bite... much."
You cursed under your breath, your muscles tensing as you prepared to make a run for it. But instead of waiting for him to find you, you leaped, surprising him and knocking him to the ground. You tumbled together in a cloud of dust and grit, his grip like iron as he tried to drag you down with him. You landed on his lap, straddling him as he grunted in pain. Despite the struggle, he smirked. "Riding a cowboy, huh?"
"Let me go, Ghoul!" you shouted, your voice filled with defiance. His grip tightened, his eyes locking with yours, a mix of annoyance and amusement in his gaze. "How's 'bout you ease up a lil' darlin'?" he replied, his tone almost playful.
You fought against him, your movements becoming frantic. In the chaos, your body pressed against his, putting pressure on his member. He raised an eyebrow, his grip loosening just a bit as he chuckled. "Reckon you're gettin' a bit too friendly."
"can't go back," you mutter out through gritted teeth, your struggle renewing with a desperate edge.
The Ghoul's chuckle grew louder, his fingers digging into your waist as he prepared to lift you up. "Why's that? You cause a ruckus, or just got the wanderin' spirit?"
"Let me go!" you screamed, your voice echoing through the wasteland. But he'd had enough of your games. With a swift motion, he hoisted you over his shoulder, your small fists pounding against his back. "You're headin' back, sweetheart," he said with a tone of finality.
"Please, mister! I'll do anything!" you cried, catching a glimpse of the growing tension in his stance. He paused, his smirk widening. "Anything?" he asked, his voice dripping with suggestion.
You nodded frantically, desperation in your eyes. "Anything, please," you begged.
The Ghoul's grin widened, enjoying the sense of control. "You sure about that?"
"I'm more than sure," you replied, your voice filled with desperation and a hint of something else.

How Vault Tec Rep and Kent Connolly parallel each other and cute relationship headcanons (REALLY SELF INDULGENT)
Tbh I feel like Vault Tec Rep (David Dwecker) and Kent Connolly must've known each other in their past life because I sometimes think back to the way he mentions how Kent is crazy and I just like running off that idea that Crazy Kent is a nickname David gave to him XD
I think it's a cute idea that David and Kent were kinda maybe childhood friends because their dynamic would make too much sense to me. Kent being the Silver Shroud fanatic that he is while David is a fanatic of having stress inducing levels of work ethic for Vault Tec.
I can see Kent endlessly rambling on and on about whatever new story has been produced about the silver shroud to even rants about inconsistencies and flaws with new continuity being made.
While David doesn't really care about whatever childish fictional material Kent likes no matter how grounded Kent says it is, I think he could've gotten motivated by Kent's spirit no matter how timid he may be about it towards other people. He likes how charismatically excited Kent sounds through the stutters. David might've felt jealous about his boundless sense of enthusiasm for one fictional hero. That his spirit seems to be energized even through potential lore/continuity disappointments because holy heck Kent really speaks a lot.
All of this leading up to post-war Kent and David taking opposite stances of their post-war lifestyle. While it is cut from the same root of needing something of the past to push on towards the future. Kent using his forever bound passion in the Silver Shroud to spread the hope and investment he had for the story althroughout the commonwealth wherever he can. To spread the spirit of the Silver Shroud to whoever who wants to aspire being him. His sense of idealism makes use of his past albeit not-at-first practical skills in order to have an actual real Silver Shroud in the Commonwealth. His influence he felt from fiction managed to become possible even in a post-war environment.
To David though, his past passion all led to disappointment and a eternal feeling of betrayal. He represented a corrupt company that sought to not protect everyone from the threat of nuclear devastation and he has to live with the fact that all his hard work effectively represented a corrupt source of power that left him and other people to rot in the wastes or become freaks of Vault Tec's manufactured nature.
He felt like he had nothing of the past to treasure and even people (and 1 Codsworth) from the past was not enough to liven his spirit of the burden he felt he wrought onto himself. He needed a semblance of normalcy and trust from his past life to rely on, also a voice that he could vent to. Some sort of sanctuary isolated from the present he is stuck with.
While David effectively leaves Goodneighbor for Sanctuary to go back to his lively salesman self. I like to think he visits Goodneighbor (via taxi of course) to chat up with Kent with whatever crazy nonsense he has to say about the NEW AWE INSPIRING VENTURES OF THE SILVER SHROUD IN THE COMMONWEALTH. Potentially asking Kent for a favor to sponsor his vendor shops. Now Kent has to bear a grin whenever David speaks all about business and how it could be beneficial inside the Silver Shroud Radio broadcasts. He doesn't really get why he loves doing business so much ^O^" It just turns out David just really needed something to hook onto which is that all the skills and memories he has of his past life were not for nothing.
*misc headcanons
David has to be the one that pulls Kent away from trouble even when he is scared as all heck in a handbasket. Allowing himself to get beatup by bullies or else seeing Kent hurt would kill his spirit more
Kent knows that David isn't really interested, but he relies on David to be a patient polite listener (he is trained to be that way after all)
Kent uses David as a model because he really takes care of his clothes (THE SAME VAULT TEC REPRESENTATIVE OUTFIT STILL RELATIVELY GOOD BRUHHH)
Whenever David agrees to wear a costume with him, he gets the courage to wear the Silver Shroud costume himself (mainly becuz Vault Tec Rep's manage to look like a cool mysterious stranger kinda fella! Aesthetic awesomeness! B))
David helps Kent with his homework so that he can get an allowance to get more and more comic books and merchandise every week. Kent had hobbies to do, David had a comprehensible learning process! ^O^
David likes smoothskin sole survivor from the past, so he gets soothed that Kent's voice sounds completely unharmed. And also kinda cute on a ghoul.
They make Silver Shroud fanfics together, David on keyboard, Kent on idea machine!
Kent made David steak knife weapons, he likes seeing David happy (to do some good justice with the Silver Shroud! Those steak knives are meant for Tuxedo Mask-esque finishers!!! >:D)
Oh and yeah they kisssssssss >3< Kent comments on how good of a person David is to him. David often has moments of self doubt due to his past with Vault Tec and being the image on people's doorsteps of what Vault Tec is supposed to be. But Kent would bring up how David managed to outlive whoever might've controlled Vault Tec at the higher ups themselves even without their corruption made tech. That they are ready and prepared to make their own future!
Anyways good night! -3-

Come On, Cowgirl (the ghoul x lucy maclean) part 2
Tumblr media
word count: 1.7k
after the events of season 1's finale, lucy and the ghoul embark to find lucy's father and finally get some answers (as well as maybe a bit of revenge). on the journey, they find they have more in common than either might have imagined.
"Better Off Dead"
In the daylight the next day, his face really wasn’t stupid.
It wasn’t even that bad, actually, now that she was looking at him. He must have been somewhat handsome before… well, before whatever happened to him. A heavy brow ridge shaded brown eyes that read you through with a single glance. Lips that were stretched and ravaged, but still managed the appearance of a mouth. Sharp, angular features that didn’t apologize to anyone. Really, compared to the other ghouls, he was almost… pleasant to look at.
Objectively, of course.
“You oughta keep those bug-eyes to y’rself, darlin’.” this time, he hadn’t even needed to look at her to catch her staring.
“What?” she replied, too fast. It was more of a reflex than a question.
“People’ll get the wrong idea if you stare at ‘em like that. They’re too eager, and you’re mighty desirable out here,” he drawled, like it didn’t matter a lick to him. She did her best not to look like she’d just been caught.
“I wasn’t-” she began to argue, but he raised an apathetic shoulder. “I was just…” her brain wasn’t working as quickly as usual, the gears that operated her thoughts jammed with embarrassment. “...Can you… feel it, still?” she asked, and it wasn’t exactly lying, but she didn’t like pretending. In this case, she found it in her to avoid another argument - if she could.
“Feel what?” his dark gaze flickered to hers from the corner of his eye. She tried to maintain eye contact, like this was what she’d been wondering all along.
“The, um…” maybe this wasn’t such a good path to go down either. She started to point at his face, then realized that could be rude, and gestured to hers instead. This was not going well. He huffed out a laugh at the ground.
“Naw, I stopped hurtin’ a long time ago,” he replied, and she wasn’t sure whether he was just talking about his face anymore.
It was probably true in more ways than one.
“How old are you?” she asked, without thinking. It had been one of those questions that bubbled under the surface long enough that when her mouth was slack, it had simply fallen out. His lips stretched apart into a keen grin.
“Old enough to be your father,” he chuckled, and Lucy opened her mouth to argue before she realized that he was right . When she was done puzzling over this, he was still leering at her from under that hat. “C’mere, we’re stoppin’.” Dogmeat had run ahead and returned to circle his ankles.
“Why? What’s here?” She stared around. The entire landscape was one big nothing for as far as she could see.
“A person of interest,” he replied. Inn-tur-ist. She stopped herself from unthinkingly repeating the way he spoke. This place had really whittled away her manners. He lifted a hand to point at an innocuous shack at the top of a hill and motioned for her to follow without another word. His mood had certainly improved since yesterday, but she wasn't sure she trusted that these emotions were entirely positive.
“How do you know anyone’s there?” she stared up at him skeptically, deciding to walk at his side again.
“Oh, we’re old pals,” he assured her with a smile that didn’t look promising at all. She’d been the recipient of that smile, right before he’d almost blown her head off. A few times, actually.
When they reached the shack, she stepped in front of him, expecting he would make her walk in first anyway, but he stopped her with a steady arm and pushed her behind him to kick the door open, entirely unconcerned by the defense of whoever was inside.
Sure enough, a man appeared in the hallway at the sound, shotgun cocked and aimed directly at their heads - but almost as soon as he’d appeared, the gun lowered. Just by appearance, Lucy couldn’t tell if the man was a ghoul too, or simply scarred. Half of his face was jagged and pink. It looked almost rubbery.
“Motherfucker. Never thought I’d see you again,” he let out a wheezing laugh and let the shotgun fall to lean on it like a cane.
Maybe they really were old pals? Lucy thought hopefully.
“Hello, Ennis,” The ghoul beside her replied, shutting the door behind Lucy like he hadn’t just kicked it in. Ennis’s disfigurement distorted his mouth strangely, as well as his speech, which was already slurred by a similar accent. His black eyes were glassy and as yellow as the ghoul’s teeth. Lucy did her best not to stare.
“You motherfucker,” he repeated, shaking his head in awe. “And here I thought you’d retired,” he chortled again, and it sounded like there was a puncture in one of his lungs; a strange whistling sound accompanying his breaths.
“Well, you know what they say,” The ghoul stepped forward and, to Lucy's alarm, took the gun right out from under his friend, opening the barrel to show an empty interior. “Not prepared for visitors, were you, now?” he handed the useless shotgun back to Ennis, who shrugged.
“Whatchu doing all the way out here?” Ennis ignored the question and accepted the gun, placing it behind him in a corner. When he turned back around, his eyes finally fell on Lucy, who attempted a polite smile. “With such pretty meat, too.”
Her smile dropped. The ghoul stepped in front of her casually, like he hadn’t heard those last few words.
“Well I’m lookin’ for someone, Ennis - you seen a scratched up T60 flyin’ around here?” Ennis tore his eyes away from Lucy after a long moment to stare at the ghoul again. “No helmet, probably runnin’ out of fuel.”
“For a bounty?” Ennis tilted his head forward and began to smile peculiarly.
“Well that depends, don’it?” the ghoul replied, leaning against the wall with folded arms.
“Oh, you know, you know,” Ennis nodded, still grinning that strange grin.
Lucy only realized that something was wrong in the half-second before it happened, when Ennis's eyes hardened, flickering over to Lucy before he lunged forward at her, arm outstretched toward her face. It was so quick, she didn’t even think to reach for her gun, and when she finally got her hand to move, a deafening bang had already echoed, blood splattering her face and the walls around her. The momentum of shock pushed her back against the door, where she wiped her eyes clean to see that Ennis’s hand - the one that had reached for her, was missing most of its fingers now.
The ghoul was already re-holstering his gun and reaching for the man’s collar, taking hold of it to drag him, moaning and trembling, into the other room before tossing him into a spare chair.
Lucy trailed them, but couldn’t bring herself to go further than the doorway. Ennis was cupping his bloody half-stump in his other hand and making a horrible sound like a wounded dog.
“Now, that makes me think you have seen a T60. Haven’t you, Ennis?” the ghoul stood over him carelessly. “Come on, you wanna keep your other hand, don’t you?” he reached for his holster again and Ennis sat up, shaking feverishly.
“I didn’t- I didn’t!” He gasped, and Lucy felt her stomach plummet. Her father could be hundreds of miles away already. “I have… I have a cousin…said he saw some metal suit heading to New Vegas yesterday. It might’ve been the one you’re lookin’ for!” The ghoul leaned back further on his heels with a deep breath. “Listen, I’m sorry - I didn’t realize you were keepin’ pets now,” Ennis stole a furtive glance over at Lucy, and though he sounded truly apologetic, her throat tightened hotly. The ghoul stared at the weeping man for another silent minute, running his tongue over his teeth.
“New Vegas, you said?” he asked, and Ennis nodded enthusiastically, still clutching his ruined hand while his breath came in audible shudders.
“Swear to God! Just east-” he didn’t get the end of his sentence out before the ghoul had taken his gun from its holster and blown off the front half of Ennis’s skull. Lucy flinched, turning away from the gory mess left in the chair.
She hoped he hadn’t heard her gasp, but if he had, it didn’t show as he kicked the chair - and Ennis's body - onto its back and turned to the door.
“Why did you do that?” she asked, trying to keep her voice steady and only partially succeeding. With all the blubbering he’d done, she had no doubt he was telling the truth about New Vegas… wherever that was.
“Better off dead anyway,” he replied simply, waiting for her to step into the hallway and walking past her to the front door.
“What’s New Vegas?” she stumbled after him, trying to find the normal pace at which she was supposed to breathe and walk. Every time she thought she’d seen enough to be used to it all, she was proven wrong.
“City east of here. Can’t go back to your shiny vault, can he?” He turned around to stare at her abruptly and Lucy almost ran into his chest.
She wasn’t sure what she’d expected her father to do, but now that he’d pointed it out, it was true. Lucy had tried not to imagine her vault after the incident, her brother alone - the raiders… whatever had happened to the rest of them. She wasn’t even sure her dad had his pip-boy to return home - if he’d wanted to.
The ghoul was still peering down at her, and when she looked back up at him, he raised a gloved hand to wipe the blood from her cheeks, pressing the flat edge of his thumb against her skin and flicking it to the ground before he turned to walk out the door.
Once she could feel her legs again, Lucy followed into the blinding sun.

Little Ghoul Lost Ch.1
Some spoilers, so read at your own risk.
Tumblr media
Sho stood talking to Leo and his captain, he had just managed to recover an anomaly alive as he was required to do by Alan. They were currently going over the details of his report, making sure everything was in order before they turned it in to Dante. "Sho!" A little girl had collided with Sho's leg, clinging onto him tightly to the surprise of his friend and captain. "(Y/n)?… What the hell are you doing here?" Sho had kneeled down to the little girl's height after prying her off, her tiny hands clinging to his own. The little girl was all smiles, though a new scar on her cheek made him feel like something was off. "I get to come here too! Big brother said so." She had happily rocked on her heels, showing off her uniform though it had no broach or dorm attached to it. "Hey Shohei…" Hyde approached, his usual smile not present. Sho's head had snapped up to look at him, a harsh glare holding a silent question about why his little sister was at Darkwick. "What. Happened?" Sho had nearly growled out the words, he had completely forgotten about Leo and Alan's presence, but his dear baby sister was just now noticing them. She was 9 years old, and though she vaguely resembled her brother if you didn't know about their relation you wouldn't initially assume anything. "There… was an accident involving an anomaly… A lot has happened, and we can discuss it in my office, all you need to know right now is… (Y/n)'s a ghoul…" Hyde spoke softly so their little sister wouldn't hear as he scratched at the back of his head, he wasn't any happier about it than Sho was. Hyde didn't like it when Sho became a ghoul either, but at least Sho was a bit older when it happened. Sho could only stare at his sister in horror, though her innocent gaze was distracted with the 2 other males who were crouched to her height to get a good look at her. "How long?…" The younger blonde questioned his elder brother, observing how she shook hands with Alan as a greeting. Sho moved to stand, facing Hyde after he finally forced his face blank to hide his horror and sorrow over the situation. "About 3 months… I've been petitioning with the school to let her come here as a special circumstance, she'll be technically attending here but we had to call in a favor to get her a special teacher since she isn't old enough for our current curriculum. Of course she has to be assigned to a dorm, so I don't want you to freak out if she doesn't end up in Vagastrom." Hyde raised his hands as Sho's eyes got dark, his head tilting in question at the idea of her being put out of her brother's supervision. Sho didn't trust any of the other dorms to take care of her, sure Vagastrom could be a bit rough but at least Sho was there to handle anything that happens. "Are you really ok with that? How do you plan to take care of her if she's staying with the other dorms?" Sho crossed his arms, staring down his elder brother. Hyde wasn't entirely sure how to answer, simply sighing as he continued to nervously scratch at the back of his head.
"Look, she might still end up in Vagastrom. But the headmaster said that since she is now considered a student of Darkwick she must be placed, all the captains will be gathered for her placement. As a teacher I will be attending, since you're her brother too I can see if you can attend as well. Personally, if she was to end up in a different dorm from you, I think Hotarubi would be the best-case scenario." Hyde did his best to soothe his younger brother, they were the only family (Y/n) had and while Hyde and Shohei weren't particularly close they could agree that their baby sister was their first priority. This time it was Sho's turn to sigh, running his fingers through his hair. "I'm going to your office later, so you better be there. I have questions." Sho turned and picked up his little sister, interrupting her conversation with Leo who had whined about Sho being rude. Hyde had quietly agreed, the only good thing was that (Y/n) was largely unaware of what all had happened. She believed it had all been a nightmare, she didn't fully understand her circumstances and simply took joy in getting to be with her big brothers again instead of just getting to see them for special occasions. Though both brothers knew she'd learn about it eventually, they only hoped that they'd find the words to explain things to her when the time comes. "What's wrong Sho?" (Y/n)'s bright (E/c) eyes took in her big brother's darker eyes, concerned about how discontent he appeared. "I'm fine, just a bit surprised. I see you've already met Leo and our captain." Sho glanced over at his friend and Captain, both males curiously watching him as if he was an anomaly as he interacted with his little sister. "Mhm, Leo is a little weird buy Alan is nice." She giggled happily, Sho couldn't help but smirk at Leo's pout and Alan's attempt to hide his smirk behind a gloved hand. "That's good, Alan is the captain of this dorm, so you'll be seeing him quite a bit. If anything happens when you're here and I aint around, you should go find him." Sho knew how rough his dorm could be, so he wanted to make sure she knew who she could go to if he wasn't around for some reason. Not that he planned to leave her unattended there, but accidents happen all the time and he wasn't so stupid to not think about covering his bases.
"Ok, what about Leo?" The little girl tilted her head, noticing how her brother specified Alan. "I mean, if you can find him sure but he's better at recording things as they happen then stopping them." Sho smirked at his friend, Leo had huffed and stuffed his hands in his pockets while glaring at Sho. "That's so not true and you know it." Alan had ignored Leo's pouting, instead speaking to (Y/n) directly. "So how do you like the campus so far? You excited to be coming to school here?" Leo huffed over being ignored, but watched quietly as the little girl rambled to their captain about how excited she was to go to school with both her brothers. Leo leaned, his hand coming up to hide his mouth as he whispered to his friend. "So, how you gonna handle this? You aren't seriously gonna try and babysit her the whole time she's here, right?" He raised an eyebrow, a small smile on his face. Sho raised an eyebrow as well, looking at his friend as if he was an idiot. "I'm not gonna leave her completely unsupervised, I don't care what dorm she's in. You're just gonna have to find different ways to make money or go without, I can't keep covering for you anymore and carrying your end of everything. It's not even just the money, the last thing I need is her doing what I do. I know the kind of consequences I get for the things I do, it's one thing when it's me but it'll be hell before it's her." Sho's voice was low and firm, he had thought of setting boundaries with Leo before because of how controlling and ungrateful the shorter male was. It was one thing when they were friends before Darkwick, but now that they have to live together it was getting under his skin. Leo looked shocked for a moment, which surprised Sho because he thought his friend would just immediately act offended. "Sho, can you make lunch?" The little girl had tugged on her brother's shirt gently, looking at him with a curious gaze. "Sure thing, go back with Hyde and I'll bring it to you when it's done. Gotta do a little shopping first." Sho sat the girl back on her feet, patting her head as she nodded and ran over to her eldest brother who had took her hand so that she didn't get lost. "We'll see you at my office Shohei, we'll talk more there." Hyde waved to his younger brother, leading the little girl back down the path away from the dorm. Sho watched them walk away, crossing his arms before he walked away from his friend and captain quietly. The circumstances weren't beyond them, to become a ghoul one had to make a deal with a demon and that isn't commonly seen among younger kids. So, they let him go, even if they had questions it could wait until later. Leo retreated to his room, chewing on his friend's words and thinking over what would drive the taller male to put his foot down so firmly. Meanwhile Alan returned to working on an anomalous vehicle, he highly doubted such an innocent little girl would end up in this rough and tumble dorm. He knew Sho was gonna be away more than usual, so it was up to him as a captain to find a good balance between letting Sho have a bit more leeway and reminding him of his duties and work.
