also imo there’s something to be said about how the red vault is so all over the place genre-wise while the 1989 vault brings to the surface the buried intensity of the album with the same sonically cohesive and sleek polish of the original

Greetings!

The adventuring life is sometimes a cruel one. You hear about some old dungeon that holds an obscene amount of treasure and magic items, but once you go there you realize it's filled to the brim with traps!

What's a dungeon explorer to do then? Brave the poisonous toxins coming from who knows where, cross the wooden bridge about to collapse at any moment; Survive the room that fills with water until you drown, dodge all kinds of saws and other instruments with pointy ends.

That sounds like a lot of work, but the reward of untold riches is more than enough to put aside any reservations and still face all the dangers that whoever built this has in store for any intruder.

Let's just hope the gold isn't cursed or something like that. Because that would be a shame, wouldn't it?

I’m starting to think this mastersheist stuff and her planning her coming out go back way further than we originally thought. With all the connections to lwymmd/karma recently I’m thinking she’s been planning this escape from the vault/closet and planting easter eggs abt it since at least rep era. She did say there were thousands of easter eggs in the lwymmd mv and it would be decades before all of them were found (2:40 of this vid)

I had the idea for this gag after engaging in a "Jimmies vs. Sprinkles" discussion on Facebook. I had considered that it might make for an interesting strip, then REconsidered it, because it's just an endless debate topic and I didn't want to invite drama. THEN I thought about a bunch of the OTHER strip ideas I've rejected in the past because of my desire to avoid drama, and this strip began to form in my mind.

The "Tales from the Crypt" inserts were a last-minute change, as the original script and roughs had me just narrating the idea normally. But the visual was too much fun to NOT draw.
