In 2011 I felt a little silly and made the witch queen from Geronimo Stilton my comfort character and she still is to this day. When you like niche characters, YOU have to be the content. I get this now. So here's a drawing of her ^-^ I will probably draw her like 180000 more times FOLLOW ME FOR MORE ART OF THIS MEAN WOMAN

Help.
Is there an order you're supposed to read the Geronimo Stilton books in???? If so which one's the first???
Well, yes there is an order to the books, but you can read them in any order you want! If you wanna read them in chronological order tho then uuuuhhhhhhh depends on the language you read them in because publishing orders differ depending on the language.
Since you said you’re gonna read them in Italian, uhhhhhhhhhhh I’m not entirely sure because I don’t read the books in Italian (unfortunately) and the Geronimo Stilton official website doesn’t have their Library of Alexandria of a catalogue of the Italian main books for some reason (if I’m reading stuff correctly) :/
Soooo ye just grab whatever’s at the thrift store and read away HAHAHAHAH the rest of the fandom I believe can give you book recs if they feel so inclined
Welcome to the Stilton fandom, my friend, hope you enjoy the madness brainrot :3

Decided to ✨️revive✨️ one of my old Chronache/Caviliere del Regno Della Fantasia after ocs chatting with @auri-ace LMAO
I created her with a friend when we were aboutttt 11-12 years old, so she and her gang are among the oldest ocs ive got! Her name's Acacia, or Ace, and she's among the order of knights as Audace and Spica's oldest (or only, im not sure) kid
She's got a lot of spunk and disrespect stemming from naievety about her parents/the other knights's pasts. Even more so, as a not all that promising knight, she's got issues of her own to figure out as well!
Despite that, she's a kid desperate for approval and adventure, for chances to prove herself in ways she's been told those before her did.
She has always been a very interesting character to me, mainly due to how she's developed alongside me as I grew up and my perspectives shaped. After my reread of the series, I had a lot to think about on how I viewed the themes and the characters/character development in comparison to how I viewed it as a kid.
Ive talked about it before, but it's very surreal to outgrow characters, but at the same time, not, because after the timeskip, the main characters gain 10 years in age. Due to my own growing up and becoming an adult, I've started to view these characters a lot differently and started to read between the lines of their development, which really surprised me, if I'm honest.
Underneath these fantasy adventure stories, is a cast of heavily traumatised characters whose traumas never get adressed. And that, after viewing it as just an adventure for years, really made me realise how I have grown up myself.
I'm kind of curious on how I'll use this knowledge on Acacia, tho.
Anyway I'm cringe but I'm free, urging yall to make stories about your own ocs for old fandoms cuz its just plain fun

Colors of Fantasy
Tumblr media
I decided to join the color wheel trend, and I used the characters from Geronimo Stilton's "Kingdom of Fantasy" series because of how diverse in color they are. Here is the list from red to pink: Avalon, Cackle, Winglet, Geronimo, Blossom, Clever Chameleon, Flamelet, and Coraline. Avalon is the only KoF OC in this project, and he belongs to me. The rest belong to Elisabetta Dami, author of the Geronimo Stilton franchise. Do NOT use Avalon or this image without my prior permission. Which one is your favorite?

hii I've been learning Italian on duolingo since May 2021 (my two Italian best friends got me into Måneskin around Eurovision and I decided I want to understand the lyrics properly lol), could you recommend any relatively easy Italian books I could read?
Hello hello! This is really exciting, I hope you are having fun learning Italian!
My go do recommendations for people who are learning a language is to read books that are meant for kids (this works too with movies tbh). This is because at the end of the day if you have been learning a language for kust a few yeara you are at the level of a child native to that language, so why not use the tools meant for those children to learn more? If you trust me with this advice my first recommendation is my childhood favourite (that believe it or not I am currently rereading in a nostalgic moment): Geronimo Stilton. You might be familiar with this litterary mouse because it has been translated in a lot of languages but the author is Italian! There's so much you can pick from this collection of books the standard novels, the classic litterature retellings for children, the Tenebrax family series, and my childhood favourite the Kindom Of Fantasy series (it's called Nel Regno Della Fantasia in Italian!). These books offer you a variety of genres so you can find something that works for you, they are fun and easy to understand and they could be a great starting point.
Another option is Italo Calvino's children/YA stories (I guess you could call them that). I personally own a fairytale collection by him but ai have not yet read it so I can't be super precise about it (but in general fairytales work very well too when learning a language because again they are meant for kids so they tend to be easier). I also remember reading a few of his stories in middle school, back in the day I hated reading so I will be honest with you I don't remeber lots, but I do remember Il Barone Rampante (a story which I really want to reread so you'll probably read more of that on my blog in the future). This is the story of a boy who has an argument with his parents, climbs on a tree and refuses to get down again. Other stories by him that I am pretty sure we got to read in middle school are Il Visconte Dimezzato and Il Cagaliere Inesistente.
As I said I think kid's books are a great starting point (graphic novels toocalthough sometimes they can be a bit more challeng because of the humor, but if you are interested I have a pretty good list of Italian graphic novel authors). This is what came to mind right away, if you need a more curated recommendation list I will research a bit more and put it together, so let me know (also let me know if you end up reading anything from this list, and how your Italian learning is going, if I can be helpful I am happy to help!).

sorry for the people who followed me to keep up with my guardians of gahoole posts, please keep in mind I'm going through these books rather slowly bc I'm also keeping up (or catching up) with a million other series at the moment. including but not limited to:
Warriors
Bravelands
Bamboo Kingdom
Seekers (arc 2, recently completed arc 1)
Foxcraft
De wolventemmer
Several of the Fantasia-series by Geronimo/Thea Stilton
Spirit Animals
Wolf Brother/Chronicles of Ancient Darkness
Gods and Warriors
I know I generally read one book per day but still it's a lot to catch up on and this isn't even counting standalones and the many non-fictions I read
I'll get to them eventually tho it just takes a while

OSCAR THE ROACH IS DEAF?
So this began with a thing where a friend in a non-English side of the world told me that her local copy of Quest for Paradise has a bit where a character teaches Geronimo Italian sign language because said character is deaf
I looked through the Internet Archive’s French copy of Quest for Paradise because it had it AND:
Tumblr media
OSCAR IS DEAF AND THE ONLY REASON HE’S BEEN ABLE TO TALK TO EVERYONE NORMALLY IS BECAUSE HE READS LIPS WHEN SOMEONE TALKS TO HIM AND TAUGHT HIMSELF HOW TO TALK
HERE’S THE TRANSLATION OF THE EXCERPT:
In the evening, we stopped to rest. Oscar lit a fire... put up the tent... and offered us a delicious cup of hot chocolate.
While I was sipping it... I found a crystal key: strange strange!
Then I congratulated Oscar: "My friend, you are great! You know how to do everything!
He smiled.
"If you want, I can even teach you something useful and fun: LSF!
I asked, intrigued: "LSF?"
Oscar proudly explained, "Yes, French sign language. It's a language like any other, like French, Italian or English! But it has something more: it's a natural language, visual, not spoken! I know this language because I was born deaf. I use it with those who know it. Otherwise, I learned to pronounce the words and even to... read lips!"
I was in awe: "I didn't realize you couldn't hear!"
Oscar smiled again. "I may be deaf, but I can therefore read the words you speak on your lips and I can speak like you!"
Then he taught me this extraordinary language:
The next part of the chapter is six entire pages of demonstrations for LSF (a localization, which makes sense because the Italian copy has Oscar teach Italian Sign Language/Lingua dei Segni Italiana)
Now you unenlightened folk may be wondering “Oh cool! Does the English translation do the same thing and have Oscar teach ASL?” and to that I very sadly and indignantly say “NO”. They don’t even mention Oscar being deaf or anything that could possibly allude to it. Unless a game of charades counts.
Tumblr media
Those two pages comprise the entire chapter titled “A Peaceful Night”.
Yes this is sad, yes this is pathetic, yes this is why the chapter is so short, yes Scholastic I am very disappointed in you, do better. If you dare say that learning about people who can’t hear is something too heavy for 6-10 kids then I WILL LEGIT SLAP YOU
Follow-up edit: APPARENTLY THEY EVEN USED SIGN LANGUAGE LATER ON IN THE BOOK IN THE SCENE WHERE CACKLE INTERROGATES G ABOUT THE HEART
In the English book G just does a thing like “why the hell did Cackle conveniently turn away from G in the middle of her asking for the heart” and he points to the pond while Cackle is conveniently turned away
APPARENTLY IN THE ORIGINAL G TOLD OSCAR IN SIGN LANGUAGE THAT THE HEART WAS IN THE POND, ALL WHILE TALKING TO CACKLE
Tumblr media
LIKE BRUH SCHOLASTIC WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL YOU CUT OUT AN EXTREMELY IMPORTANT BIT OF LORE FOR WUT???
