“What’s gender? Just some patriarchal control shit. Fuck that.” Bobby Gillespie, from his introduction to the book, The Bag I'm In: Underground Music and Fashion in Britain, 1960-1990, by Sam Knee.

I am going through my annoying stereotypical teen girl arc
And I'm THRIVING.
I LOVE GOING TO THE MALL, I LOVE THE COLOR PINK, I LOVE GIGGLING OVER A BOY BAND (who haven’t made music together in years), I LOVE DOING MY MAKEUP AND I LOVE FANGIRLING OVER SILLY MEDIA.
Younger me would have despised the mere concept of becoming "like other girls”, but who cares?! I am like other girls, I’m human, I have interests and I am complicated, I’m not one-dimensional. We should all be able to express ourselves without the looming thought of being judged by some pricks who don’t care or understand.

Hello exquisite people!!!
I hope everyone's doing good!!
Tumblr media
Ha Ha Women ☕
If you are on any social media, like Instagram and Tik Tok, then you can understand the title very well.
But if you don't know (you're either living under a rock or you're an angel who's able to keep themselves away from social media toxicity) then lemme tell you, a clip in which two animated character can be heard saying "Hmph, women" followed by a laugh while sipping on their coffee, has gone viral and has now become a trend.
The clip of the animated character is from a video on YouTube called, "Infomercial: The Pill", posted on 9th October,2017.
Now taking inspiration from this trend (seriously?) people has started commenting this phrase (Women ☕) on most of the posts where females are shown doing something silly. (Basically stating every women is idiot and has no common sense.)
Like I saw this reel on Instagram where a girl walks into a glass door. And unsurprisingly the comment section was filled with "Women ☕". What does that even mean?! Do you think that this can't happen with boys? That the glass doors have magnet that only attract a person with long hair, face full of makeup and wearing a dress? (that's how you'd define "women", won't you? Typical.)*groans in exasperation* Let me just tell you this real quick, this the act of walking into the glass door, can happen to anyone regardless of the gender. I know it may come as a surprise but 'Men' can also accidentally walk into glass door. (Shocking! I know.) .
Tumblr media Tumblr media
*there are many more like this*
Should we start writing 'Men ☕' below the posts that states "A man raped a women" again? Should we comment 'Men ☕' when we read about a husband beating his wife to death, again? Should we start saying 'Men ☕' when we hear about drunk fight break out between men on stupid topic? Why can't we write 'Men ☕' when a women is forced to abort or give up her new born girl child?
No. No, we can't do that. Because these same people, who get a kick out of writing 'Women ☕', will come out with a Big Banner saying "NOT ALL MEN ARE SAME!" . Oh, look at the irony, will ya?!
If you don't like to be stereotyped then DON'T stereotype others. (yeah, it's that simple.)
And you know what i have noticed? When someone does something stupid, they say "Oh! you are so dumb haha!!" but the moment a female does the same mistake, comments like "Girls are so dumb" and the infamous "Women ☕", are said. Do you really not see what the problem is? (I leave it to you to really think about it.)
What I actually want to say is we can't go around making assumptions and generalizing stuffs about anyone or any group of people, be it for men or women. It also doesn't mean that we start commenting 'Men' as a revenge or something because; firstly, it won't achieve anything and secondly we would be doing the same thing i.e. Stereotyping. If it's wrong when people stereotype women, then stereotyping men is wrong too. [ Stereotyping anyone is wrong.]
As you may have able to tell the topic hits too close to home. So thank you for reading my (not so) slightly intense rant. :)
You can read my blog on Abuse here.
Please stay safe. Keep smiling. Drink lots of water. And I believe in you that you're capable of achieving whatever goal you've set for yourself. All you need to do is keep faith in yourself :)
I'm all ears if you wanna talk to me about anything. You can message me here on tumblr. (:
— N xx :)

“Courts/police favour women bc they’re more likely to believe them!!!” You are literally spouting the chivalry theory from Pollack in the 50s. You are giving credit to a sociological ‘theory’ that has been discredited non-stop as weak and misogynistic by acclaimed sociologists since its creation. Pollack was literally the original mra. And you wanna know the basis of the argument? Women are ‘good at lying to men’ bc they HIDE THEIR MENSTRUAL CYCLE AND FAKE ORGASMS.
Women DO NOT commit the same rate of crime as men, ESPECIALLY not sexual crimes, and if you deny this you are basically the same as alt-right conspiracy theorists who think they’re smarter and know more than statistics from studies all around the world. If you truly believe women ‘secretly’ commit the same amount of rapes, you are believing a conspiracy with no evidence whatsoever and also buying into the sexist belief that women are untrustworthy minxes who hide their deviant activities from men to deceive them into thinking they’re pure and innocent.
You are so anti-feminist and illogical on this site and it SHOWS.

why do women have to prove themselves when they say they enjoy something that isn’t stereotypically “feminine”. whatever that means. for example the other day at school the topic of football got brought up (i don’t even like football but i watched it with my dad). all of a sudden every single boy was asking me to list of 10 players on the Chiefs. why can’t i enjoy something without knowing every single aspect of it. or when i say that i really like marvel movies i automatically must know every character in the specific movie, the true motive behind the movie, the comic book author and illustrator, the families of the author and illustrator, the hardships that the characters had to go through. being a woman is exhausting.

It sucks that I was fed the lie through media that girly girls were dumb, mean, quirky and inherently the antagonist or the one to be made fun of.
It's sad that I was afraid to admit that I liked barbies, princesses, the colour pink and "girly music" ect.
It took a long time for me to embrace my more girly feminine side and I'm happy with where I am now.
But I wish I could've embraced it years ago instead of feeling judged.

Mod thoughts???
Okay as a joke I wanna respond with, this man gets it. But in a real critical way, I agree with the OP. It’s reinforcing gender norm ideas and while some commenters were going the misogynistic route, I actually think this plays more on the concept of traditional masculinity as the man as the provider. And that’s a lot of pressure to put on someone meant to be your equal partner. Even if one has more material wealth than the other, it isn’t their duty to provide. That’s very codependent thinking. It’s your duty to provide for yourself and they provide for themself and together you have overflow you share. If you have a partner that wants to provide and can, that’s something to appreciate and feel and show gratitude for but it’s not an expectation or a requirement. That divine feminine and masculine shit is bull shit and I did a whole ass discussion on why I hate gender in spirituality.

I love you butch house cleaners and janitorial staff. I love you service industry butches. I love you butches who do sex work. I love you working class butches who do “feminine” jobs you are cool as hell

It's so ironic and sad at the same time that they put her quote right over two pictures where the camera focuses on the breasts, not her face.
Yes, New York Post, you are the fucking reason girls feel like once they develop breasts, their humanity is fucking gone. she says it and you prove it in the same fucking tweet

I've realized that gender stereotypes are basically like astrology, but people believed in it so much that it kinda became the norm...
"Oh! you were born with a specific thing in your private region?! then you sure act this way, and the better job for you is this one, and THIS is your aesthetic"

I really love the concept of an Atsushi / Akutagawa / Kyouka trio as it was shown in Dead Apple, and I really wish it would become a thing. I think it's neat how here Kyouka's dominant color is shown being purple as balance / synthesis of blue and red. Kyouka also uses as this kind of bridge between organizations since she was a member of both at some point, and still holds a very deep understanding of how they work. I think Kyouka could really make the sskk team work as a way to find balance between these two opposites that would otherwise clash and destroy each other.
