This isn't very well written out because it's 1 am and I just have to get this out so I can sleep lol
Very heavy Gency content!
Okay so I've seen quite a few people say they don't like gency purely for the reason that it would put mercy in a position of constantly looking after Genji like she does with every one and it's the role she gets put into all the time but I would like to present this idea. (More than likely nowhere near unique idea and is definitely been depicted before but this is just how I view their relationship)
While in everyday stuff mercy is the caretaker and the one that looks after everyone and makes sure everyone is healthy and okay, we know she is not very good taking care of herself in the same way. So, I very much picture in their relationship Genji more often than not is the one taking care of her, he makes her food, she makes sure she's taking care of herself, he physically lifts her away from her desk and carries her to bed because she has not slept in far too long, and she's just overall destroying her own because she is clawing and scraping for every drop of energy that she can put back into trying to help people while completely ignoring herself. She has been helping people for so long that she doesn't fully know how to justify helping herself, so Genji helps pull her away from this downward spiral of basing her worth off of how much she can help others, I either mentally or physically pulling her away from her work and taking care of her and being with her.
End of the exact same time mercy is allowing Genji to be something he wasn't allowed to before, when he was in the shimada clan he saw the name sparrow for being too soft and small and having too big of a heart for what was needed, they tried to turn him into a heartless killer and when he didn't want to and he said no they tried to have him killed. And with that not working, they unintentionally succeeded on their goal of turning Genji into a weapon, he was raised and now made especially in black watch for the sole purpose of revenge, destruction and death. Thanks to zenyatta he was able to come to terms with his body and see he is not a weapon he is Genji, he is his own person that his past is not determine him but rather forms a part of him which is ever growing. And even now he is still a ninja, that is something that will never change, but he is still deadly and dangerous and can be brutal swift and efficient, but when he's with Angela he can be soft and caring and be something other than a bringer of death. He can be gentle, cuddly and warm with her. She needs someone to force her to take care of herself and he wants nothing more than to just take care of her, obviously she takes care of him too but Genji is doing more small but meaningful and big gestures.
Genji when he's with mercy can lay there just holding and cuddling with her, that nothing else around the matters, he gets to live this unfamiliar but amazing feeling of pure love, pure love that brings an uncontrollable grid to his face whenever he gets to hold her. And even when they're just together, he can stand near her, be by her side, protect her and take care of her. And he knows she does not need him to protect her, if someone tried she would kick their butt.
So in short mercy gets to take a break from giving and receives, and Genji gets a break from brutally taking and gets to give.
I Can also see this playing into the Love languages I picture them having, they both love quality time, Genji loves giving acts of service, while mercy loves giving words of affirmation. And without dangerous their jobs are, and Genji wearing armor 99% of the time whenever he gets a chance to take off his armor, love physical affection. They'll both just constantly be touching each other in some way, like Genji moving Angela's hair out of her face/brushing his hand against his arm/pulling her in for a full embrace will he buries his face into her neck, or like mercy running her fingers through Genji's hair/holding his face in her hands and running her thumb gently against his scars/holding Genji's hand (or fingers) whenever he seems nervous.
Like I don't have the words to describe how I imagine fully their love being except for like comforting warm fire, like a fuzzy blanket with a warm drink cuddled up on the couch with a crackling fire as it blizzards outside, just pure love not only romantic but also best friends, they could just sit talking for hours being in each other's company and even sit in silence comfortably and just being together is enough.
Vibes like the one song "rises the moon" calming almost like a lullaby or "golden hour"
I have no idea if any of that made sense because I'm exhausted but I hope I at least got some of my point across.

Gency drabble
/////
Genji notices the shift in Angela before most. Maybe anyone else.
Years together, endless hours alone, he understands her before she speaks; she know, without having to see.
Genji's reluctance, at first, to remove his faceplate unless absolutely necessary, Angela learned every other way he spoke.
The restlessness of his limbs, shaking when wanting to speak, but can't.
The flick of something between fingers when he thinks; quashes an emotion; watches, watches.
The shifts in his posture. Rigidity, to fluid.
To the amount of the rest of his body he'll let others see, plates of armour removed, clothes shed. The more exposed at first, she thought confidence. Then carelessness.
Then impulsiveness.
He's covered, now.
Faceplate. Hoody. Joggers. A new colour of silk hangs from the back. She wants to touch it as she watches it move.
"You look rough."
She wants to pull it.
"At least you can say it."
Angela's feet dangle off the edge of the roof at the front of their Gibraltar post. She used to sit up here way back when. Alone. Now she wants to be anything but.
Genji sits beside her. Close. One leg stretched behind Angela, one hanging down. Eyes to her, not the sea.
"Do you even want this?" His knee taps against her back. Bent and sore.
His chin, her shoulder.
It's then she notices he's removed his faceplate, the ting of metal to stone still ringing in her ears.
"Do you?"
"Stop deflecting." Genji's words, quiet.
"Sorry. I know that's your job."
Genji smiles into her shoulder. An arms around her waist, now.
It softens her. Words breaking on her tongue. Words only Genji will hear, will know.
"My-" She stops. Her eyes close feeling Genji's nose press against her neck. He counts her heartbeat. Too fast. Too much. "I think I'm too tired."
Genji doesn't speak. There's a kiss to her neck. A hand through her messy hair. He untangles a knot. Drapes his leg over hers. She runs a hand over his leg, that specific join of synthetic, metal. Worn from her touch.
"Then just sleep."
He's behind her, now. Cradling her as she dips back against his chest. She'd sat like this often, the comfort moulded into her memory, dreams, love. Sometimes the only thing she ever wanted in this fucking world.
"What if it's all I want to do," she says, "and with you" not a question, not enough, as she sinks into arms, and into love.

excerpt from my lovechild fic based on an rp with a dear friend.
- - - - - - - -
... "Well, it's kind of a stupid reason," He starts, feeling her eyes on him like she was ready to dissect him like a seventh grade science project. He returns the energy, staring back as he thinks. There's something vaguely familiar about her features, the way her hair falls in her face, the hint of freckles that the soft glow from the window barely illuminates, her light eyes. Genji feels like he's seen her somewhere before, like he's looking at a puzzle with only a few pieces missing but can't make out the whole picture without them.
"I got—"
Angela had to maintain her cool. Her brain was telling her he'd done something bad, but he didn't appear like a criminal. His clothing appeared to be clean, even, and of great quality. But she couldn't just pass judgment solely on appearances. She hears her name shouted out again, and her eyes widen again, before he has even had a chance to respond, “It’s my mom – Grab on tight otherwise a seven feet fall is waiting for you.”
The approaching voice within the house rendered them both alarmed and looking at the door of her bedroom through the windows. Genji immediately sat up, eyes darting around to try and think of a hiding place. Under the window? No, her mother could walk onto the balcony and see him. He wouldn't be able to shuffle into a corner of her room in time, and hiding in her closet would be a straight up invasion of privacy. Then what was left?
And with that, she pulls him standing, and with all the adrenaline that drove her beyond her normal strength, she physically shoved him on the other side of the railing, making sure he held the bars tight enough by keeping her own hand over his - she believed it would be useful as coverage. She didn't expect the stress scenario to make her hands sweat as much as they did.
Luckily, Angela thinks faster than him. Genji goes on to question her plan with furrowed brows as she approaches, but barely has the time to let out a startled yelp when she ushers him up and pushes him off the ledge with an almost superhuman grip. He hangs off the railing like a sack of potatoes, teeth gritting at the sting that sets into his already cut fingers. Ow. 𝘖𝘸. As if reading his thoughts, the girl presses down her warm palms on his, like an anchor, steadying him almost desperately as he feels the tendons in his left arm screaming out for help.
In a matter of seconds, her mother appears, arms crossed and face somewhat frightened. She pushes the glass door wide open, and stands just at the doorstep, “Is everything alright?”
Her mother's voice joins hers on the balcony. Genji tenses, looking down below him over his shoulder and trying to suppress a groan. His legs dangle in mid air as he tries to look for anything to support his weight on, but only finds the ground far below him and promising a 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 painful fall should he slip.
And Angela just nods almost so fast it’s suspicious, trying to stand as wide as possible to hide and cover the hanging body from her railing, “It’s just – I saw…” Then she shakes her head, “I saw only silhouettes. Nothing in particular. There was maybe three.. or four of them?”
Her mother nods along, “I didn’t imagine this district could get so… unhinged. I made it clear to the construction company that I wanted utmost perfect security and safety, hence the gates and walls. I’m so sorry if this frightened you, my dear. I can see you’re a bit unsettled.”
To that, she nods nervously and answers immediately, “It’s – It’s alright, they’re gone anyways. I’ll just go back to rehearsing and –” But before she could continue, her mother interrupts,
“Have you showered already? You’re still wearing your daytime clothes, and it’s almost bedtime. You know you have to get up early in the morning, and your time sleeping is limited. Shower and go to bed. Oh and pack your things beforehand, otherwise we might be late again. You don’t want that.”
He exhales as quietly as he can, breath coming out stuttering with pain, and tries to hone in on their conversation. The mother's tone is cold at best, incredibly stuck up at worst, and Genji feels a pang of sympathy at the way this Angela is spoken to. He knew the pain of living by a schedule well, and the way she complied with an obvious tiredness behind the anxiety in her voice was painfully familiar to how Hanzo sounded in the evening.
Right. As usual, she was bound by rigorous timetables that even dictated when she had to sleep. She merely nods along, taking big breaths – and as her mother walks closer, her breath hitches and she clutches his hand even tighter. "I'll see you in the morning," she whispers, brushing her cheeks one last time before returning inside and closing the glass door.
The conversation is quick and dry. For a moment, Genji hears the sound of footsteps coming closer and tenses, considering the idea of dropping down it if came to it, but it barely lasts and soon Angela lets go of his hand and disappears from the balcony. He knows he should wait for her to return, but his arm feels like it's on fire from supporting his whole weight, and Genji feels like one more second of hanging like this would result in him tearing something. He grunts and swings himself up, throwing a forearm over the railing and dragging his torso up, eyes screwed shut as the pressure on his tendons lessens.
Angela waits good ten seconds after her mother has left before grabbing him by the wrist and pulling him back – as absurd as that seemed, she didn’t quite want him to fall.
He winces, sitting back down on shaky legs and holding his strained arm once he is finally on solid ground. The cuts on his palm had worsened from the pressure of the railing's edge, and he had resorted to periodically wiping the blood off his already ruined jacket. When he looks back up, she's looking like an angry mom about to scold a child, and Genji raises an eyebrow at the repeated question.
So now it's her turn to cross her arms in front of her chest and ask, “So, what did you do that you ended up here?” As if her query wasn't enough of a taunt the first time, she asks it again, just because she was calm enough not to assume he was planning to kill or kidnap her. If he desired it, he would have done something by now, but instead he merely stood there. Maintaining a respectable distance. Giving her glances, and nothing else.
"First of all," He starts, rubbing the muscle between his thumb and his palm that felt awfully sore. "Your mom sounds like she has a stick up her ass."

Three Ships:
1. Whatever the hell Cam + Pal/Paul have going on-- I need to stress that this isn't a romantic ship. Camilla carried Palamedes' soul inside her even as it corroded her and now they've both given themselves up to make a new person because neither could stand to lose the other. The notebook. The tape recorder. "Life is too short and love is too long." "Go loud."
2. Gency-- Girlboss and Malewife with hearty helpings of whump and fluff, as well as discussions about personal growth. I've written entirely too much fic about them not to include them. Also it's nice seeing all the little references to their shippy stuff with the Valentine's event going on :)
3. Fitzcrozier-- What if our ships were stranded in ice trying to find the northwest passage and we were slowly being picked off one by one by a polar bear monster with a semi-human face and we were all slowly dying of lead poisoning from tainted food and we initially couldn't stand each other but we're gradually gaining a profound respect and affection towards each other as it becomes increasingly clear we won't make it back home... and we're both men?
First Ever Ship: I'd say the first ship that really felt like ~my~ ship was Saya and Hagi from Blood+. That ship had everything: Vampires, bodyguard dynamics, devotion, asymmetrical character development over an absurdly long period of time, weird almost insect-like biological imperatives influencing said devotion, a death pact... It's honestly shocking to me that Blood+ didn't have that much of an impact because it was everything to me.
Last Song: Delta by C2C
Last Movie: Oh god it was this really underwhelming super macho drama/thriller thing directed by Russell Crowe--Poker Face. Not nearly as good as the TV show Poker Face. You know what I'm just going to say "Tampopo" instead because that one was way better.
Currently Reading: Oh gosh a whole bunch of stuff. "How to Invent Everything" by Ryan North, "The Secret History" by Donna Tartt, this steampunk short story anthology, "The Tao of Jeet Kune Do" by Bruce Lee....The worst part about working at a library is you get Book WIP syndrome and the only thing that really forces you to try and finish books in a timely manner is the waiting list.
Currently Watching: The Last of Us on HBO, The Lost Kitchen, cooking videos on youtube.
Currently consuming: Black tea with cream and sugar and toasted Irish brown bread with looooads of butter!
Currently craving: A Geisha's kiss Sushirrito and to ride a train for at least 4 hours, if not take a 5-day long train journey. I need to be on a train like Ishmael needs to be at sea or else we'll both start knocking people's hats off.

pink
Pairing: Blackwatch!Genji Shimada x Pink!Angela Ziegler (Gency)
Warnings: none
Summary: Okay, so maybe she shouldn’t have been wearing it during working hours, but it was a slow day, and honestly, what did it matter so long as it made his heart skip a beat?
Notes: just a short, self-indulgent gency piece! hope this makes you smile :)
Genji stared at Angela, taking in every inch of her.
When he walked in, he wasn’t very sure what she was wearing, but he was very sure that he liked it.
Her cheeks coloured.
“Genji,” She said, eyes darting around, avoiding eye contact. “I wasn’t expecting you today. Is everything alright? Are the new painkillers working?”
The good doctor was trying very hard to be professional, despite the fact that she was wearing all-pink, strappy body armour, with ribbons wrapped around her arms and laced in her hair, which was tied in two ponytails on either side.
She looked like one of those ancient Barbie dolls from the 2010’s.
She also looked stunning.
Angela’s cheeks got redder the more Genji stared silently. “Ah - Genji - You see, there was this undercover mission that Jack informed me about where I’d need to pose as a, um, model?”
For all her prowess in medicine, the doctor was not a good liar.
Genji raised a skeptical eyebrow.
Angela sighed. “Okay, you got me. Lena and Fareeha saw one of my old Valkyrie suit prototypes and insisted I try it on.”
“Why is it so…pink?”
Angela cast a tentative, timid look at him before dropping her gaze to the floor. “There was a - ah, technical malfunction with the 3D printer.”
She looked so adorably embarrassed, like a puppy caught doing something wrong, that Genji allowed himself a small grin behind his mask.
At his silence, Angela fidgeted just barely, but enough for Genji to catch.
Realising she might be uncomfortable in a way — perhaps she thought she looked stupid or unprofessional? — the cyborg decided to dispel her worries.
He blinked and shifted, his vents opening slightly to ventilate. He couldn’t lie and say he was completely unaffected by the angelic doctor in his presence.
Hearing the whirring of the carbon fibre, she looked up warily, eyes lingering, uncertain.
And for the first time since he’d entered and for the second time Angela had met him, he said something without a trace of sarcasm or irritation.
“You look good.”
And with that, he turned on his heel and left, thankful that his new body was as silent as his human body, (save for some robotic whirring here and there), leaving the doctor all alone, blushing and confused.

My Guardian Angel (Gency)
Warnings: None, this is pure fluff and just an extremely nervous Genji
~
Genji felt nervous.
Genji knew, it was perfectly normal to be nervous. However, he never felt this nervous in a very long time. He lost his limbs against a fight with his brother, fought against the infamous Doomfist and has actively participated in plenty of Blackwatch missions that had an incredibly high chance of death.
But, these things never made him nervous. Only one person could. Not even Doomfist, or his brother who nearly caused him to die.
Because, only Angela could.
Her golden locks and intelligent blue eyes that held immeasurable kindness stayed ingrained in Genji’s mind since he left Blackwatch to pursue a better life. The fleeting moments of love they shared was unshakeable to Genji, even in his moments of pure tranquility.
In fact, Genji even focused on Angela’s serene visage when he tried to achieve inner peace and happiness.
So, you can imagine Genji’s so called tranquility when he decided to revisit the Overwatch facility.
Zenyatta was pleased with Genji’s calmness and progress, and let Genji revisit his old home.
The new facility was more modern and clean than the old training cabins, in one single solitary building with orange, white and black paint. It seemed to include all training rooms, medical facilities, bedrooms and meeting rooms all in one area. The evening setting sun set a coral glow over the complex.
Genji was pleased with the recovery Overwatch had even though it suffered from many issues overtime. When he walked up to the door, he pressed the doorbell.
“Who is it?” Tracer’s cheery voice called out. “It’s Genji.” He said, and Tracer squealed in excitement. “Welcome back Genji! It’s great to know you’re meeting us love.” Her bubbly British accent sounded.
As the door opened, Tracer stood there in a cream sweater and denim shorts. She smiled widely, and gave Genji a bear hug. Even though Genji wasn’t a big fan of showing emotions, he still accepted signs of affection and friendship anytime.
“Lovely to see you again Genji!” Genji smiled. “Likewise.”
“How long will you be staying?” Tracer asked as Genji followed her into the complex. “Just for four nights. I don’t need any luggage.” He replied.
“Of course, you’re cybernetic and self-sufficient. Ana made mochi and ramen when she heard of your arrival though.” Genji suddenly heard a grumble. He missed Ana’s wonderful cooking.
“I’ll accept the food.” Genji said, while a familiar face came into view. “Hey old buddy.” A gruff voice sounded, while the owner clapped Genji’s shoulder hard.
“Jack! Long time no see.” Genji said, shaking hands. “Good to see you again. Everyone’s waiting for you in the dining room.”
This is what Genji loved about Overwatch: he was always included in every step of the way.
As Genji walked up the stairs to the dining table, he was greeted by a sea of familiar faces. Reinhardt, Brigitte, Ana, Pharah... his companions filled him with warmth.
However, his eyes were only focused on one person sitting on the table, which made him break into nervous sweat.
Mercy’s hair was longer and tied into a ponytail, and it rested beautifully on her pale pink shirt. Her eyes were filled with happiness, and she looked extremely happy to be here.
“Well, what are we waiting for? Let’s eat.” Genji called, and everyone cheered and whooped.
~
“I didn’t expect you to come back.” Mercy said, leaning on the rail of the stairs while she talked with Genji.
“I got Winston’s recall. Overwatch was my only home, and I want it to be restored.” Genji replied. “The renovations were much better than before.”
“Of course. It was the Lindholms’ work.” Mercy replied. Genji smiled. “They are marvellous architects.”
After a while of silence when they looked at the starry night sky, Mercy spoke again.
“You remember the old days when you stumbled into my office without any limbs and you uttered your catchphrase, ‘ I need healing?’” Genji laughed. “How could I forget? You saved my life, and you did a good job of it.”
“Did Zenyatta teach you the art of flattery? You were much more emo and angsty before?” Mercy sarcastically asked. “No. I just learnt to be more content and be at peace with myself.”
“Something I couldn’t do. I am a doctor, not a therapist.” “Please Angela, you need to stop being so harsh on yourself. You breathed life into me again.”
Genji and Mercy blushed at this euphemism. “Let me see you.” Mercy said.
“I’m right in front of you.”
“No. I don’t mean like this.” Mercy softly replied as she rested her hands on the sides of Genji’s visor.
Genji’s visor opened, revealing Mercy the face which she loved many years ago, and still does.
“Your scars are healing very well, Genji.” Mercy said, lightly caressing Genji’s marks of war. and causing Genji to blush.
“It’s because of my happiness as I’m back.” Genji replied, slightly moving closer. “It’s also because I am reunited with my Guardian Angel.”
Genji lightly cupped Angela’s face, and they softly kissed, igniting old sparks between them.
Genji was home, and Angela couldn’t be anymore happier.

Gettin Hitched
Short and sweet, just the way I like it :D
Tumblr media
When McCree had planned to take a few hours off to spend with Hanzo after a long day of meetings, he hadn’t planned on coming out to their meeting place to find the archer staring holes into the ground between his feet. Unsure of what was going on or why Hanzo looked so deep in thought, McCree approached slowly.
“Hanzo?” McCree said gently, making his presence known so he wouldn’t make the archer jump, that was a mistake he didn’t want to make again. Hanzo’s gaze snapped from the floor over to the cowboy, his whole stature relaxing when he saw who it was.
“Jesse, I wasn’t expecting you so soon,” Hanzo said with a smile as McCree came and sat down on the bench next to him
“When I was walkin’ up it looked like you were tryin’ to stare your way through the ground, everythin’ alright sugar?” McCree asked as he slung an arm across Hanzo’s shoulders the same thoughtful look appeared back on the archer’s face.
“I was… thinking” Hanzo responded staring back at his feet once again.
“I could tell, wanna talk about it?” McCree pushed, curious to know what was making Hanzo go so deep into thought.
“Before you came out here, Genji came looking for me, he was completely flustered and seemed quite nervous. I asked him what was wrong and he told me he’s planning to propose to Angela” McCree’s eyes widened at the news.
“Oh wow, that’s great! I’ll have to congratulate ‘im for finally gettin’ some guts” McCree chuckled, stopping short when he noticed how much Hanzo was frowning.
“What’s the matter? Are ya not happy for ‘im?” McCree questioned.
“Of course I am happy for him, he’s my little brother and I am glad he has found someone who he wants to spend the rest of his life with, it just got me thinking…” Hanzo trailed off as he rubbed at his arm nervously. McCree felt his heart skip a beat as he knew where this conversation was going.
“It made me think about us… about our future” Hanzo mumbled, a bright blush painting his cheeks made McCree smile
“You want us to get hitched?” McCree asked making Hanzo shrug his shoulders
“I have thought about it before, but I have never thought I was worthy to be in such a serious commitment with someone I care about” Hanzo explained still not meeting McCree’s eyes.
“Everyone worthy of love darlin, even stoic broody folks like yourself” McCree teased making Hanzo smile and shove him slightly
“I am not ‘broody’, I’m being serious McCree” Hanzo said
“Oh it’s McCree now is it? And here I was thinkin’ you wanted to marry me a second ago” McCree teased making Hanzo blush even harder, if that was even possible at that point
“One day, but right now I just want to enjoy this moment with you” Hanzo hummed as he placed his head against McCree’s chest, the smell of his serape comfortably surrounding the archer making him feel completely and utterly safe.
“You and I both darlin, you and I both…” McCree smiled down at Hanzo, a fondness growing in his chest as he held onto the other man gently, placing his cheek atop Hanzo’s head.
Jesse McCree was completely and utterly in love with Hanzo Shimada, there was no doubt in his mind that he ever had or ever would love another like this again. One day, one day they would join all the other couples and finally tie the knot, but for now, the two of them were just happy to have each other to hold.
Question is... should I write the Gency proposal? I am, myself, a Gency shipper but have never written it before

Gency Week Day 4: Morning Glory/Affection
A little late for Day 4 but I do hope you enjoy!
Just some notes: Meine Maus is German for 'My mouse', a small term of endearment. Jungspunde (if you've seen it in Dance of Silver) just means 'youngster' These might also be spelled wrong. My fav German is currently asleep. So mistakes are on me.
AO3: https://archiveofourown.org/works/19071907/chapters/45535678
Day 4: Desire and Desiderium
The last week's event with the daffodils had been successful. The limited time food and drinks were quite a hit with the customers. Upon opening the cafe, she picked up the mail in the mailbox on the way, dropped them onto the counter and begun the early setup. She worked silently and efficiently, not a single word of complaint escaping. She was happy to be able to put her back into this, to the point she hummed a small tune. The melodious sound echoed in the empty cafe and unbeknownst to her, a shadow was watching her the whole time. But he never showed himself, at least not until a little later.
Dawn had just broken when she finished putting the chairs down and a cheerful voice broke the comfortable silence.
“Good morning, Angela!”
“A very good morning to you too, Mei,” the blonde grinned and they started cooperating on getting the cafe ready. Angela entered the kitchen, preparing the ingredients that needed to be used that day as Mei checked on the machines that they would use for the drinks.
“Last week was really fun!” Mei giggled, bending over the counter on the tip of her toes. With a flick of her finger, the switch to the coffee machine was turned on. “We should hold another event like that again!”
“I agree!” Angela’s laughter drifted out from the open kitchen door.
“Have you seen the posts online?”
“No?”
That’s when Angela suddenly found herself — after finding her phone and opening the social media applications — grinning at the comments she read online.
“Homemade Swiss chocolates. Definitely not for children unless you want to put them to sleep!” A user posted a picture of chocolate drops finely presented on a porcelain plate. Each chocolate was different, some were spherical, some dome-shaped and white one was heart-shaped. By its side, fresh, cut strawberries decorated them, a chocolate drizzle lightly covering the juicy redness.
A commenter responded below the picture: “Oh my God. Did she draw the angel around the chocolates?”
Because right on the other side of the fruits, an angel in dark chocolate was drawn embracing the alcoholic sweetness.
“Yes, she did!”
Users, especially young teenagers, who found out of the event the week after were feeling utter regret. How did they not find out about this café sooner? And those flowers around the cafe! Warm lighting! Perfect Instantgram photos!
Pride swelled up within the blonde café owner. Her hard work had paid off! Those angels were not easy to draw, especially when 60% of her customers requested it and only she knew how. She scrolled down further on the social media results of the café’s social media tag, upon which she spotted the handiwork of Mei herself.
“Mei! Come look at this!” She yelled out to Mei who was busy concocting another iced drink in the kitchen. The Chinese girl popped her head out as Angela brought the phone over to her.
“Oh, I haven’t seen this!” Mei exclaimed and she read out loud, "Mei's ice cream rolls! Made on the spot! Do you feel your mouth watering now?”
In the picture was the image of cookies and cream ice cream rolls placed in a glass sundae cup held up by beautifully manicured nails, with similar flavoured Pocky sticks further adorning the creamy sweetness.
"You were at Mercy's Apothecary?! Why didn't you bring me!” A user commented with a series of angry emojis.
The two of them giggled at some comments that followed after, feeling immensely proud after such a hectic week. They took a quick breather, simply reading post after post, comment after comment, until one caught their eyes.
“I heard that their menu was designed a little after some of the fallen Overwatch team members. Do you think that’s true?"
“I remember the names Hellfire Shots and Sleep Special in the night drinks menu. Are they some?”
“Their Rum Punch was named ‘It’s High Noon’, I believe.”
“I ate some sandwiches named Grillmaster 77. And I think the Lemon Syrup Tea was called Mountain D.Va? Isn’t D.Va the Korean eSports celebrity who was in the army before joining Overwatch?”
"Do you think she was part of them?”
"She does look a lot like the blonde doctor that used to be on the field!"
Angela’s face contorted into confusion. What were the users saying? She had come up with those names on the fly. Overwatch? She didn’t know anyone from that organisation. The closest person she knew to an agent was Jack, and Genji (Jesse and Lena too), but even he wasn’t from Overwatch. At least, she didn't think so. And she definitely wasn't.
“Angela?”
The blonde woman shook her head. “Don’t worry about it. They’re just speculations. I don’t know what they’re talking about.”
Mei looked on worriedly. “Al…right. If you say so.” She turned back into the kitchen, but not without taking a second glance back. Angela’s eyebrows were furrowed into a deep confusion, teeth gnawing at her bottom lip. Her fingers clenched at the phone before she clicked it off.
Speculations? They're not speculations at all.
‘Why would Angela be confused? What was wrong with their comments?’ Mei sighed inwardly before grabbing the drink she just made and coming back out.
“Here.”
Angela looked up from her thoughts. “Thank you,” she said upon receiving the iced tea.
Mei took the other seat beside Angela behind the counter.
Angela then picked up the letters and looked through them. “There’s one addressed to you.”
“That’s weird? I didn’t set the cafe’s address for anything.” Mei took the letter with a frown as she sipped on her green tea frappuccino. She flipped the letter over. "There's no sender either."
Angela hummed as she opened each letter, the majority being bills that she had to pay. At one letter however, was an enveloped exactly identical to Mei's, down to the font used on the front. Mei originally brushed the letter away, her attention directed more at her phone, but when Angela looked over to compare their envelopes, even she couldn't help but be curious. Tacitly, they simultaneously tore their respective envelope open and picked out the paper folded within.
"Dear Angela, I am pleased to invite you and your Overwatch teammates to attend a specially organised masquerade dinner celebrating your good deeds. The event will take place on the 13th next Friday at Lumiere Hotel. We will also be graced with the appearance of a special guest joining us that evening," Angela muttered under her breath. Below the body were details of the event printed in elegant cursive text.
Feeling a presence peer at her letter, Angela looked up with a quirked eyebrow at Mei. "Oh, it is the same too!"
Huh? Same too? What did she mean by 'too'?
Seeing the inquisitive, baffled expression on Angela's face, Mei was beginning to be convinced that something was wrong with Angela, otherwise why else would she be rough with Genji?; wouldn't react upon seeing Junkrat or Roadhog except for confused silence; upon treating her like merely a colleague when they've shared late nights discussing the effects of climate and weather in relation to cybernetics; upon receiving the overly friendly smile you receive when you weren't good friends yet.
But they were. And have been for years — ever since she joined Overwatch after being thawed out.
"I received the same invitation," Mei waved her letter.
"Overwatch?" Angela tested the words on her tongue, so foreign yet why did it feel so familiar at the same time. She'd felt it before, just only a little over four months ago, when she saw his face wrapped around that scarf, the faint scars carved into his skin. It was… just like the time she did with Genji. Her face furrowed into confusion. Wait, if Mei received one too then wasn't she from Overwatch too?
"Yeah, Overwatch," Mei parroted without missing a beat before Angela could question. She contemplated whether to continue or not, to inform Angela that they've gone out into the field together way back when Overwatch still stood tall and proud, but something tugged at her not to say and to not intrude into the matters of others, yet… "Angela, were —"
"G'day, snowflake!" Junkrat slammed the cafe doors open. The maniacal grin dancing on his lips stretched wider when his eyes found their target sitting together with Angela. "How ya doin'!" He bounded over to the women as Roadhog lowered his head to enter the just-tad-too-short doors.
Mei waved Angela to remain sitting while she stood up to attend to their new regular customers. "Good morning, Jamie. What's your order today?"
Junkrat chuckled under his breath and, for the first time Mei saw him, he straightened his spine and leaned back. His hips were pushed forward, thumbs hooked in his pockets and she found herself flicking her gaze onto his remaining fingers. "You."
"Alright! I'll get that —  wait, what?" She had subconsciously jabbered on in routine when his order finally clicked in her mind. "M-Me?"
"Yes, 'flake. You." The slightly crazed man grinned while he watched her reaction, having caught her gaze. "What say you? You, me, on a date?"
Was it just her or was the cafe heating up? Junkrat watched, satisfied at the deep flush her fair cheeks were sporting. Her pink lips parted, only to have her teeth nibble at her bottom lip. The seconds felt like minutes and everything slowed down in that very moment; Angela watched with curiosity deeming proud for a feline, Junkrat puffing out his chest with the pride of a lion, and Mei, poor flabbergasted, confused Mei, simply pinched and played with her fingers. Was he playing a joke on her? If he was, it was such a sick joke! But as she lifted her eyes to glance at him, the shred of sincerity shining in his eyes caused her to flinch. Was it real? It really seemed so real. Should she accept?
‘I mean like, it wouldn’t hurt to right? Maybe? Argh! I don’t know!’ Mei felt as though animated tears streaming down her distraught face as she wished she was holed up in a corner to her thoughts.
This was just too sudden! This wasn’t the Jamie — Junkrat — that she knew! Where did that crazy, maniacal laughing, bubble tea loving pyromaniac go! She’d rather face his usual babble of explosions and threats of blowing this building, that building, or even the park if he could just because some dog peed on his leg (and no, clearly not on the fleshy leg).
As the time ticked by, Junkrat’s confident smile twitched at the corner. It shouldn’t be taking that long to decide would it? Or did she not find him attractive enough? That what? She preferred those stick thing, unreliable Asian men better (with of course, excluding that cyborg ninja Genji and archer Hanzo. Those two could give me one hell of a run if they tried, he scoffed)?
“Uh…”
His ears perked up at the soft voice, just like the little tweet of a nightingale and his eyes sparkled with anticipation. Really, just what could go wrong, right?
Everything, of course.
The door, for the second time that day, opened with the lightest of push, but it was that small creak that sounded especially deafening in the tense silence. In stepped a tall, muscular blond man whose blue eyes first beamed at spotting Angela behind the counter, before falling onto a nervous Mei and a threatening Junkrat.
“You — What are you doing to Mei?” Jack stepped towards Junkrat with a level glare. “You wouldn’t happen to be threatening a waitress, would you?”
“Fuck off, cunt. I was just asking her a question!” Junkrat returned the glare with one of his own. “Fucking ruined the moment!”
Jack ignored his cussing, turning to Mei instead. Gesturing at the angry pyromaniac with a flick of his chin, he asked, “Is that true?”
“U-Uh, yeah. He was,” Mei heaved a mental sigh of relief at seeing a familiar face walk through the door. Oh gosh, she couldn’t even begin imagining what she’d do if unacquainted customers came by!
Jack was about to continue questioning her when a gentle voice cut him off. “It’s alright, Jack. He really wasn’t threatening her.”
At Angela’s reassurance did the agent relax his guard and walk up to the second cashier, to which she stood up to man. He observed her grinning countenance, scanning for any abnormalities, but he found none. ‘So, the letter hasn’t arrived?’ His mind floated towards the ninja that appeared moments before he entered, frowning at the memory. 'Did she see him too?'
Angela paid no heed to his stare and continued gracing him with her smile. “Good morning. You’re not normally in this early, or this often.”
Concluding that it really hasn’t arrived and haven't seen the cyborg ninja, he returned her grin and shook his head. “I just miss you that’s all. I was wondering if you’re free later today after work as I got a day off.”
“Sure, I don’t have anything planned. What did you want to do?” she responded almost immediately.
“Just perhaps a walk in the park? Thought we could both do with a nice change in pace,” he suggested.
“Sounds good to me.”
Junkrat seethed at the side, scowling darkly at the scene and faced Mei again. She half feared that he was going to ask her out again and forced herself to keep smiling. If he asked, she’d reply! If not, then… well. She wasn’t sure?
“Just give me the breakfast set. Roadie will have the same but with more sausages.” Instead, he grumbled under his breath while glaring at the till.
Somehow, just somehow, Mei was disappointed. Was she only worth that much to him? Was it really a joke after all? She carefully took his payment and gave him his order number before quickly entering the kitchen to prepare the meal. Simple dishes like this, she could do, but anything that required more skills, they were normally sent to the kitchen staff on hand or Angela to complete. However just for this meal, just this one, even if she’d deny it in front of others, she wanted to at least make that crazy man his breakfast. Juicy, ripened tomatoes were sliced in half before being lightly seasoned with salt and pepper with a drizzle of olive oil before being baked in the oven. On the frying pan was a couple of thick striped bacon and sausages sizzling away that she flipped over before checking on the simmering pot of water. With a dash of vinegar, she then stirred to create a whirlpool before carefully cracking a fresh large egg into it. She watched in anticipation as the egg whites swirled and danced around the yolk, like a butterfly’s wings cocooning itself.
It didn’t take long to finish the meal. The tomatoes came out first and then poached eggs, and she neatly plated them on a warm porcelain plate. A garden salad was placed on the side with a lemon balsamic tang before the bacon and sausages was put on. She repeated the same on another plate but with added sausages. Once content with everything, she brought out the plates, one in each hand and sauntered towards the table. This time, confidence was oozing out of her every pore and it showed, as Junkrat’s attention was suddenly shifted towards her as he caught her from the corner of his eye. His eyes were locked onto the delicious upward tug of her lips before blinking at the glint in her eyes so bright behind the glasses. He visibly gulped the lump in his throat when he watched her curves dance towards him with mouth-watering meals in her possession.
“Here you go. A breakfast special made especially for you.” The plates lightly thudded on the wooden table and Junkrat was stunned at the smile that she gave him.
He gulped again, somehow noticing that the distance between them was rather short. He could feel the heat that radiated off her body and even when she pulled her hands back to her side, they were made deliberately slow and elegant as she turned to fully face him. “So,” she whispered breathily. Goosebumps tickled his skin when her cold fingertips graced his warm ones gripping the armrest. “Is the date still on?”
“W-Wha?” Incoherent words tumbled off his tongue. What was his Snowflake saying?
Mei grinned cheekily at his response and the confidence building within allowed her to lean forward just by a few inches, enough so that the words rolling off her lips would tickle his ear. “The date. The date you wanted to take me on. When will you take me out?”
The warm breath, so unlike her cold fingertips, caressed his ear and he shivered at the intensity of it all. The words repeated in his mind over and over again, before his mind finally processed it and he felt his lips tug at the corner. His shock vanished like a drop of water in the desert and he returned her gesture, sheer satisfaction blooming at the pinkness that slowly crept upon her cheeks. Leaning on his arm, he closed into her face, the smug smirk playing off his lips. “Oh, babe. We can have a date tonight if you want. Or even right here, right now.” Then, with his free hand, Junkrat lightly traced his thumb over her parted lips with a quick, fluid motion. “Of course, if you rather not, my flames are hot as fuck like the Australian sun and it’ll definitely keep you warm at night.
It was like the kettle going off when the last of his breathy words kissed her lips. Mei’s face flushed entirely red where it rivalled the juiciest ripened red apples, feeling extremely hot to the point she believed steam was about to rise. Just what, why, how, what?
With his smirk widening, Junkrat leaned back and winked. “I’ll see you tonight then, Snowflake.”
With a blink of her eyes, Mei managed to compose herself before smiling sweetly at him. “Okay!”
When Mei walked away, cheeks still a little red and a little flustered, but her steps had a bounce to them. Angela grinned upon seeing that and couldn’t help her eyes wandering over to Jack who was seated by the window, eating his sandwich and reading the news. She too, was pretty eager for tonight.
“Oh, good morning Ana!” Mei chirped when an elderly lady appeared by the door. Her skin was tanned and white hair braided neatly, but unlike normal women, one of her eyes were hidden behind an eyepatch.
“Good morning. I brought the new batch of flowers for this week,” Ana smiled as she held up the pots of morning glory. The royal purples were a beautiful contrast from their dark leaves and a fresh scent immediately wafted around the cafe. “I have the rest in my car.”
Angela beamed at the morning glory. They were absolutely beautiful! And they seemed to have just bloomed as well. Gratefully taking the heavy pot from Ana’s hands, she proceeded to set it down near the door, close enough to be by the entrance but not enough to get destroyed when the door opened (courtesy of a particular fellow).
While Ana turned around to get the other pots, a burly man standing at easily over 2 metres was blocking the doorway. In his thick arms were two large pots of morning glory, the trellises covered with buds in full bloom. “Ana, Meine Maus. You left your car door open.”
Ana grinned lopsidedly at the man. Steps filled with elegance and a deathly vibe, she walked up towards the man and lifted her hand to gently caress his cheek on her tiptoes. The short hairs of his beard tickled her calloused palm. “Why wouldn’t I, my love? I could easily spot you from a mile away.”
Reinhardt, the big old burly man chuckled lovingly at the smaller woman before him. Her head was lowered as she lifted her one eye to blink innocently up at him. “And besides, you wouldn’t let anyone steal a defenceless old woman’s car, would you?”
Her whisper was only audible for him to hear and he couldn’t help guffawing at the bashful, defenceless look she was putting on. Her? Defenceless? Hah! She could easily send someone to meet their father in Heaven if she wanted to!
“And besides, who would steal the car when someone like you was already stealing flower pots out of it?”
His laughter bellowed louder in the cafe. Nimbly, he pecked her on the forehead, the adoration so clear in his gaze. “Oh, Meine Maus. I’m just helping you carry these heavy things.” He knew full well that she could easily handle these pots herself too with all the years having been in the field with her sniper rifle, and gods, that gun was not light to begin with. “I even finished training the Jungspunde as fast as I could, just so I could see you.”
Ana smiled and stepped aside to allow Reinhardt entry, mouthing him a silent ‘thank you’ before turning to Angela. “Tell him where you’d like them.”
She warmed at the scene before her, feeling rather wistful from it all. When would she be able to experience something like that? A simple, comfortable relationship with nothing else that was more important. A sigh slipped from her lips before she stepped forward to instruct Reinhardt on the positioning of the plants. A few customers arrived when the cafe was being transformed into a mini garden once more whom Mei attended to as Angela handled the decorations. It was bittersweet, watching the old couple. Sweet, simple ministrations of small pecks, rubbing of her cheek on his bicep, and unburdened laughter that was so addictive that the others couldn’t help but join in too.
“Thank you.”
Ana and Reinhardt looked up from their seats to smile at Angela who brought a plate of food and a tray of refreshments. Setting the sandwiches down with the drinks, she thanked the couple once more.
“It’s our pleasure, Angie. You’re doing really well with the cafe.” Ana commented, her words tinged with pride.
“It’s a team effort,” Angela responded bashfully. And that was true. Without Jack’s assistance in forming the cafe, she would have then never built the cafe up to the standard that she wanted; He was the one who found Ana the florist, and not long after she posted job positions, Mei came (with a few other staff of course, but the Chinese woman was the most memorable one out of the lot) with her refreshing iced drinks. When she faced the couple again, there was something that nagged at her mind, itching at her to ask: “How do you make it work?” She knew Reinhardt was somewhere in the military; the guy had to be with that kind of body!
“You mean relationships?” Ana asked back and she nodded. When the old woman turned to look at Reinhardt, she caught his silent, endearing gaze as he nibbled on his sandwich and her lungs burst out into giggles. “They’re work, Angie. Definitely not 50/50. Some days when I get up, I feel like only giving 10% of my effort and my love here will have to step up to give 90% that day.”
“But there’s 100% love,” Reinhardt finished for her as he handed her the cup to drink. “It’s really hard to put it into words because it can’t really be measured. Sometimes you just gotta feel for it.”
“But how would you know who?”
“Someone who feels like home,” Ana grinned, taking Reinhardt’s hand into hers. “It’s not about the excitement or the things you share in common. Sometimes, it’s really just someone that makes you feel comfortable, someone that you can go home to and relax without a worry.”
“Without a worry, huh…”
“How come, Angie? Is there someone on your mind?” Ana questioned, leaning back as she daintily picked up her cup and sipped her tea. She truly did wonder, just who might have Angela ended up with? She watched the pondering woman closely, feeling slightly odd at the sight. The blonde cafe owner before her was nothing like the doctor she knew back in Overwatch, like something… had changed. It wasn’t such a major, drastic change no. Just something subtle, something you wouldn’t have been able to grasp if you weren’t attentive enough.
Angela hummed as she hugged the tray closer to her chest. At first, her eyes darted towards Jack, her questioning gaze staring at his back. Would he be the one? Sure, they’ve shared laughter and smiles before, but that’s all there was. It was like there was never a rainy day between them and honestly, that was nice. She felt happy with him and rather free, yet simultaneously, there were times where she had to constantly put that smile on — even if she didn’t want to. Putting away her fatigue, her stress for the day, just so she could smile for him… was that really what she wanted? Yes, she was smiling. Yes, they laughed together. And he'd helped her with a new beginning. But it was just so tiring…
Ana caught onto the direction of her gaze, and so did Reinhardt. They both shared a glance, untold conversations silently weaving through the air.
"I haven't seen Genji in awhile. How is he doing?"
Angela was snapped out of her reverie at the man's question. Genji… huh. "I haven't seen him in awhile. I guess he must be busy."
Reinhardt let out a sound of acknowledgment. "I suppose he is. But shouldn't you check up on him? To make sure he's working fine?"
She was startled. "Huh? What do you mean?"
This time it was Reinhardt who was surprised. "Am I wrong? Don't you regularly perform checks on him? To make sure the cybernetic parts of his body are operating at optimum levels, or something?" He paused, holding her gaze with his quirked eyebrow. "Am… I not right? These things are just too confusing!"
"I - I…"
At a loss for words, the cafe owner flinched back a small step. Everything in her was a mess lately. She hadn't believed Genji the first time he told her she was a doctor, that she was in Overwatch, but then the letter came. Inviting her. And then, now this.
Was this why they all gave her weird expressions when they first met? When Mei came for an interview and she appeared all cheerful, only to be shocked and confused, before the same smile was brought back, although albeit forced. Angela honestly always thought that the icy woman was just someone who wore her heart on her sleeve while still being capable of maintaining a professional attitude; the ability to create the iced drinks were just icing on the cake. And when Angela first met Ana, the older woman had instantly treated her with warmth, giving off the vibe of a loving grandmother who desperately wanted to give hugs and cookies. Yet, when Angela kept that professional distance and introduced herself, Ana, similarly like Mei, had given her an expression full of confusion.
As though they were supposed to adjust be acquainted.
But she… couldn't remember.
Remember.
It's always her memory. Something was definitely missing. Something related to Overwatch. Something she should have known but couldn't. Something… argh! What was it? If only she could —
The door to the cafe opened and the first wave of breakfast customers came rushing in to get their daily coffee and food. Dropping the topic right there, Angela quickly returned to her position with an apology and helped Mei attend to the customers.
"Something's not right… with Angie."
"I agree, Meine Maus. It's like she can't remember us."
"But it's only been a little under five years since the disbandment of Overwatch."
The couple had only gotten in touch with Angela from time to time before she opened the cafe. That was simply life. You'd get busy and things start to pile up. You'd focus on one task before moving onto the next, or even, you'd just sit and laze there, waiting for the time to pass for the exact reason that things were starting to pile up, like pile up.
"I don't know, my love. It's not as simple as that…" And pursed her lips while her motherly sixth sense was tingling. Something. Was terribly wrong.
Angela busied herself with the customers, plastering on the usual smile as the wave kept coming for breakfast or early lunches. She'd pass Jack occasionally with a plate of food or with a tray of drinks, and though she wished she could forget about what the old couple has mentioned, her mind constantly strayed away. Would he be the one? Was he the one I feel like home? She glanced at Jack as she walked towards the table behind him before quickly lowering her lashes. The image of his smiling side profile flitted into her mind, chin in palm and a warm mug in the other. He watched the people by the sidewalk pass by the cafe while the sun peeked out from behind the clouds. A lovely day indeed.
After serving the drinks, she too, looked out the window. 'It's been sunny for awhile,' she noted mentally. 'I wonder when will it rain?'
Her footsteps immediately paused and her nose wrinkled.
If every day was a sunny day, who would not wish for rain?
His words, crisp and clear, rang in her mind. It was already muddled with thoughts, a total mess of a mindscape like messy clothes strewn carelessly around the room, but his words remained bolded and strong. Her lips subconsciously twitched upward.
True. We all need a rainy day once in awhile.
And when the day had come and gone, the sun finishing its cycle to allow space the moon to bask in its glory, Angela stood outside her cafe with her face towards the fiery sky. Hues of orange and yellow painted the clouds a passionate colour, with a visible of violet and pink. She released a deep sigh, letting it all out and the gentle breeze blew, caressing her cheek and danced with her hair. It's been 17 weeks since she opened the cafe, 17 weeks since her new beginning, and two weeks since she saw him. Was he doing well? Was he eating well? Did those scars hurt?
"Have fun!" Mei called out from inside the cafe. Junkrat was waiting on her inside, fingers drumming impatiently on the armrest as he balanced the car on its two back legs.
"Thanks for closing up!" Angela smiled. There was still 30 minutes to closing, but Mei had offered to close up, giving the owner the short break from the Monday Mayhem. They hadn't expected it to be so busy, but after the first wave came, they never stopped.
Jack waved bye to Mei after a warning glance at Junkrat to come stand beside Angela. "You cold?" He asked when he saw her crossed arms.
Smiling sweetly, she shook her head. "Not really. I'm fine."
Although he acknowledged her words, he still removed his coat and gingerly wrapped it around her shoulders. An indescribable feeling washed over her, the emotions bubbling up to her throat. He was sweet, such a gentleman, and he was strong and loyal. But why did she feel like there was something that she could never cross? Something held her back, an invisible threshold her heart refused to jump across.
"Come, let's go to the park nearby."
However, just as he uttered those words, the darkening sky lost its passionate hue as dark clouds immediately converged above the city. Lightning flashed before their eyes as the winds picked up speed, with barely three seconds later as the thunder clapped, the sound rumbling and shocking her nerves.
Instantly, like a tear in the sky, it started pouring. Angela stood beneath the eaves of her cafe, watching the grey faded curtain of the rain fall before her. The chill pervaded her senses, yet the feeling was refreshing, a nice calm in the chaos of her heart.
"Shit. I'll go borrow an umbrella." Jack turned back into the cafe.
Angela hummed nonchalantly, her attention still on the pitter-pattering of rain. Her fingers, still on her cross arms, twitched, as though something was missing — something that had normally done before. A sad smile flitted onto her lips the more she thought about it. The empty slate of memories that she had of year before her awakening in the hospital, that wide gap, was beginning to get on her nerves. The doctors said that with time, her memories should resurface. Nothing was wrong with her that was extremely detrimental, everything was functioning alright. At least, that's what the doctors said.
Were they right?
She began to seethe at the doubt that arose. What was the truth? What was the lie?
"Ahh, there aren't any umbrellas in the cafe," Jack groaned as he returned to her side. "Why isn't there one? Sigh… what would you like to do?" He felt dejected at the weather, inwardly cursing the bad timing to have it rain. After so long of finally getting a day off just to spend it with her, it rained. It. Just. Had. To. Rain. Fuck.
Angela didn't even spare him a glance, too lost in her thoughts when she suddenly cried out in pain at the sharp stab to her brain. It pulsed and burned, like a knife was carving in her skull. A faint, blurry memory was resurfacing, the scene dark, but she felt a sense of comfort. A phantom warmth crept on her cheek, like a gentle caress of the wind, but the calloused touch brought shivers down her spine. She closed her eyes and relished in the memory, as blurry as it may be.
Murmured whispers began to echo.
“Oh, it’s raining.”
“Mmm, it would seem like it is.”
“If I recall, it was raining when I found you too.”
“Yeah, it was raining just like this at that time.”
“I’m glad that I did though.”
“Huh?”
“It allowed me to meet you.”
The close intimacy of those words brought upon a wave of desire and anguish in her heart. The man’s voice was familiar, too familiar in fact and the same instinctual feeling she felt weeks ago — buried long ago — resurfaced.
She tried to calm her breathing, the pain now throbbing a dull ache. By her side, Jack was worried and anxious, but his words fell on deaf ears. She couldn’t hear a word he uttered, nor could she hear Mei’s.
“Then I propose we have a date in the rain.”
“In the rain? Then I’ll just have to bring an umbrella.” The her in the memories giggled, giggled, at the prospect of walking in the rain.
There came the phantom caress once again, causing her heart to burn with renewed fervor.
“Two lovers in the rain have no need for an umbrella.”
His name, barely audible in the rain, was murmured under her breath, a soft kiss of desiderium that warmed and at the same time, anguished her within.
The large hands that held onto her arm and patted her back brought her out of her senses, and cruelly back to reality. She snapped her head towards a worried Jack and she stared into his eyes so blue that mirrored her countenance. Did he know?
'Did Jack know anything of me in Overwatch?' She thought. 'If he did, why wouldn't he tell me?'
An uneasy feeling rose up his throat at the blank, level stare that she gave him. Did she recover her memories?
The doctors said that with time, her memories should resurface, but it was Jack that told her, "It's alright if you don't remember. Each day is a new beginning."
What were his intentions then? She believed him like a baby depended on its mother when it first opened its eyes. He was there by her bed when she woke up, there when she felt lost at everything, there when every new thing popped up. But now —
Just how much shit could she have avoided if she knew his intentions from the start?
"Angie…?" He tested the waters warily, a sense of danger sparking off in his mind. An angry woman was after all, more dangerous than any sniper bullet.
The unreadable expression on her beautiful countenance disappeared with the blink of an eye as the same smile he was used to appeared. "Oh, I'm sorry. I blanked out."
He heaved a mental sigh of relief. Outwardly, he returned her smile. "You were in pain just now. Did your head hurt?"
"Yeah, but it's fine now."
And now, for the actual worry. "Did you recover your memories?"
Angela closed her eyes as she shook her head, using that moment of darkness to hide the sharp glint in her gaze. Memories? Yeah, she recovered just the slightest bit of them, but it doesn't look like he wanted her to. However, she easily lied through her smile, "No. I didn't. I think I'm just cold. I want to go home. Sorry about this."
Jack patted her head and she forcefully repressed the urge to flinch. "You don't have to apologise." I do. "I'll send you home."
She wanted to refuse him, to go alone and sit with her thoughts, but seeing the eagerness in his eyes made it sizzle away. "Sure."
And as they ran across the streets, jacket or hands covering their heads, a lone shadow appeared by the cafe door. In his hand was a brown paper bag. For the first time in two weeks, he wasn't in his cyborg suit. He didn't shiver at the cold, feeling a hollow space in his heart. For two weeks, he held back in seeing her. For two weeks, he worked hard to finish the thing in the bag. For two weeks… he tried to swim against the raging waves of his mind, that she didn't intentionally forget who he was, that she didn't intend to leave him, to hurt him like this.
Yet, when I tumbled and turned in my thoughts, I always came to the same conclusion: It's sad when the person that gave me the best memories, becomes a memory.
"Genji! You're here." Mei greeted me despite Junkrat's scowls and grumbles. "Do you want something to drink?"
I shook my head, looking around the cafe for any signs of Angela. Water dripped from my hair, wet clothes clinging to my body and the scent of morning glory entered my senses. Affection, I vaguely remembered its meaning. Mei caught onto my gaze and asked, "Are you looking for Angela? She just left with Jack before you arrived."
I gave her a bitter smile. Jack. Jack Morrison again. He stopped me from entering this morning when I gathered enough courage to see her as the cafe opened, and when I heard his words, I swallowed the acid in my throat and resolutely walked away. The dragon in my blood stirred, the unaccepting fury bubbling.
"What are you doing here, Genji?"
"Commander," I had curtly replied with the same brown bag in hand. Tugging my scarf higher, I continued. "I'm here to see Angela."
Jack shook his head, arms crossed on his chest as he leaned his weight on a foot. "You're just going to hurt her when she sees you."
"Why?" I narrowed my eyes, the dark irises flashing a dangerous red and Jack tensed his muscles in retaliation.
Instead of replying, Jack shook his head and shifted the topic. "You know. It was amazing how you two have been friends for so long. She talked about you all the time."
My ears perked up. "She did?"
"Yeah, I have to say, I have no idea how you didn't fall in love with her yet." My heart ached at the bitter memory of months ago. "Lucky for me though."
And I swore, I was about to pummel him for the smug grin he graced me with. Had he thought I hadn't felt that? That they were together? That I had missed out on my only chance just because of a damn mission?
"Did you have to fucking tell me that?" I growled at him. "Then go, go to her."
And I had then turned around, my back to the cafe, to her, and walked away, and it was with that, that I missed Jack's agonised expression, muttering incoherent words under his breath.
"I wish I could. She hasn't even agreed to date me."
Turning my attention back to Mei, I ignored Junkrat by the side and handed her the bag. "Could I leave this bag here with you?"
"What's in it?"
My face twitched into a smile. "Nothing much."
Mei narrowed her eyes in jest. "Really? It's not something I need to be afraid of, right?"
I shook my head but Junkrat had been faster, grabbing the paper bag from my grip before she could lay a finger on it. "No! If it's fucking dangerous, cunt. You're not leaving it here with her."
I rolled my eyes at the pyromaniac. "It's a lot less dangerous than you."
"Damn right it should be!" He proudly exclaimed.
Mei laughed at his antics, taking the bag away from him. "I'll keep this safe. How have you been?"
I could sense the hidden worry in her tone and I chuckled sadly. "As good as I can be. Jesse and Lena are helping me through this ordeal."
Mei hummed in agreement. "That's good. Angela is a little different though."
I scoffed lightly. "Of course. She's lost her memories. Doesn't remember a single thing."
Mei gasped. "Seriously? Aiya, no wonder she found it weird when she got the letter. Did you get it too?"
I raised an eyebrow. "That dinner invitation?" At her nod, I replied, "Yeah. I did."
"Hey, hey. What letter! Why am I not invited to something Snowflake is invited to?" Junkrat grumbled with a scowl.
Mei rolled her eyes. "Cause you're not part of Overwatch."
Junkrat narrowed his eyes at her. "You aren't anymore too!"
I turned my head away from their public display of affection and bid them farewell. Stepping outside the cafe, I watched the heavy rain fall from the clouds. It was raining just like that night many years ago, and just like that one memory I've shared with her.
If I could, I'd take her out on a date on the rain. Her hand in mine as we walk amidst the rainy curtains. Grace her with a rose and surprise her with a box of Swiss chocolates. She'd hum a tune, that's for sure, and we'd dance to it. Freely, like birds uncaged. Not a care in the world as it's just us. Just us two, living in the rain.
Closing my eyes, I allowed the rain to fall on my face in the night. No, no tears in the rain. A cleansing of my broken heart. To allow the pain to slowly wash away with the rain, leaving me nothing but an empty hollowness in my chest. It hurt. Hurt too much.
Yet, I also knew, knew that the pain will never really go away. No one would really ever forget the pain of losing someone once loved. I'd pretend to move on and act like it didn't happen before everyone else, just because it's what to be expected.
Rubbing at my cheeks, I gulped the heavy lump lodged in my throat and fought the burning sensations in my eyes.
'If I did anything right in my life, it was when I gave my heart to you.'

This Moment is Enough
A/N: *Awkwardly dusts off screen. So, um...Hi. I know this is a bit of a sudden post from me, but I did promise I would make this fic on the, now disbanded, emergenji discord server. I’m sorry I took so long to make this, but I hope I make up for it with this fic. I am going to write both a reception fic, full of speeches, dancing, and more fluff, and maybe an NSFW wedding night fic. For now, here is my own version of a Gency Wedding.
There was something about marriage that Genji could never understand in his youth. It didn’t make sense to a playboy, to choose to settle down with one woman when there were so many beautiful women in the world. His young mind likened it to settling with only having one flavor of ice cream for the rest of your life. That sounded like more of a punishment that a reward. At least it had when he first made the analogy in his head.
It wasn’t until he found that he’d always comparing other flavors of ice cream to his favorite that marriage began making a little bit of sense to him. It wasn’t until after a shop was sold out of his favorite flavor and how upset he had been, that he realized how some people could choose to marry one woman and stay loyal to her. He didn’t think he had it in him for that kind of commitment, and he doubted he ever would. It didn’t bother him, he told himself. And he almost believed it. Until he met her.
Genji’s perfect woman came to him in his darkest time. Her angelic form brought light to the darkness that was his thoughts. However bitter or resentful he may have been, just spending time with her would chase away the darkness, even just momentarily. But there were still scars that no medicine could heal. Some things still healed better with time. His journey across the world and the meeting with his master gave him a way to find his peace without her, but when they were once again reunited, Genji knew that he needed her in his life. Now here he stood. In front of a mirror, checking himself over to make sure that his suit lacked any imperfection. It was an important day after all.
A sound of a clearing throat interrupted his thoughts. Turning to the sound, he came to face a man who was officially dead to the world. His former commander, Jack Morrison, was once a man who many saw as the pinnacle of human values and physique. Now, he was a man tired of the world and its burdens, whose anger and strong sense of justice both inspired and scared some his friends from the past. And yet, there was something about him today, a peaceful straightening of posture, a whisper of pride in a swelling chest, and most importantly, a joyful glint in his eyes.
“It’s almost time,” the former commander said curtly. He turned and began making his way back to where he came from, before he paused briefly. Looking over his shoulder at the cyborg, the aging man gave a few parting words of wisdom. “Savor every moment.” He left as silently as he had come.
Genji nodded at the advice. He would make sure to cherish every moment to come after today. He placed one of his metal hands over his shirt, where flesh and machine had been expertly woven together beneath. Parts of his true skin and flesh still remained, now integrated with machines and nanotech. His heart, still as strong and alive as when he was born, beat with a nervous excitement. Today had the chance to be the best day of his life.
The low hum of conversation in the atrium of the facility was buzzing with excitement. The ceremony was not only a significant moment in two people’s lives, but it also served as a huge boost in morale for the members of the illegally reformed Overwatch. They had been making great strides in preventing the machinations of Talon from coming to fruition and in keeping casualties on both sides of the Second Omnic Crisis down, but their fight with them seemed to be stretching on with no end in sight. This wedding was needed for both tradition and the team’s sake.
Genji made his way to the altar, where he stood and waited for the moment everybody was waiting for. The wedding party took their places. His brother, Hanzo, stood silently beside him. Though their relationship had been strained at best at the recall of Overwatch, Genji would have chosen no other for the position of best man. Across from him, in the position of the Maid of Honor, was Mei-Ling Zhou. With both of them being scientists, almost the entirety of the recalled Overwatch was not surprised at the choice.
Genji’s musings on the wedding party was cut short when a sudden swell of music began. At the other end of the room, automatic doors slid open with a hiss. There stood commander Jack Morrison in a black and white suit. It was trimmed and worn with the same military efficiency that he used with every aspect of his life. His scarred face seemed to be the only flaw, but even it seemed to fall in line on his person. But the commander was not the one every person was in awe of.
Angela Zeigler, on the battlefield, was easily identifiable in her emergency response suit. Her wings brought not only a measure of safety and security, but also a measure of hope. Her wedding gown was not much different. To say that she was radiant would have been an understatement, for she seemed to shine brighter than the sun filtering in from the windows to her left. Her upper arms where covered in silken sleeves that ended just shy of her shoulders and connected with the rest of her dress. Her torso was covered modestly in white fabric that then flowed down her body to just barely skim the ground below. A pair of white and silver heels raised her height to about the same as if she were in here combat suit. Pale gold trimming spread out from between her shoulders and merged with her sleeves, only to spread beyond them and hang from two small elastic wristbands. She looked every bit like the angel Genji saw in her every minute of everyday.
“Brother, close your mouth and smile,” a soft, deep voice whispered. Shooting an annoyed glare at Hanzo, he nonetheless obliged and a bright, loving smile bloomed on his face. The small scar along his cheek morphed to accommodate the expression. As his beautiful bride moved closer to him, he couldn’t help as his smile grew and threatened spread beyond his face. His brown eyes met with her cool blues. A nervous excitement shone from within her gaze behind barely held tears of joy. The young warrior felt his own moistening with unbridled joy. The closer the two got to one another, the harder they had to fight the tears from leaving their eyes. The slow cadence Jack and Angela were taking wasn’t helping things either.
When the pair reached the altar, an Omnic in a suit stepped forward. His nine glowing lights seemed to shine brighter than normal. “Welcome, one and all, to the wedding between two of our finest, Genji Shimada and Angela Zeigler. Who gives this woman to be married?” the smooth, synthetic voice asked.
“I, her commander, do,” came the deep, firm reply. Genji reverently offered his hand to the glowing woman before him. A soft, hardly-heard sigh of relief escaped both him and Angela as contact was made between the two. As corny as it may sound, it honestly felt like coming home to them. They walked up before Tekhartha Zenyatta, and turned to face each other, clasping both their hands together and holding tight.
“Friends, dearly beloved, we are gathered hear today to witness the marriage of these two in matrimony. A bond and commitment neither make lightly, and one that they will be bound to in this life and the next. If anyone bears any reason why these two should not be married, speak now or forever hold your peace.” When not even a cough or sniffle sounded for three seconds, Zenyatta’s circuits thrummed pleasantly in joy and he continued.
“To love is to trust one another implicitly, sharing all that life has offered and will offer with the other. It is to fulfill one another’s emotional needs, and to better yourselves for the other. It is always. Always protecting, always trusting, always hoping, always persevering. It is never. Never selfish, never unkind, never proud, and never failing. Genji, Angela, you are committing to a new way of life. One of respect, trust, and, above all, love. Now then, I believe the groom and the bride have written their own vows,” the wise android concluded. Angela nodded and drew a deep breath before beginning to recite one of her most important speeches.
“Genji, I love you. I promise, that will never change. I have seen so much of you, and all I find, I fall in love with. Should there be a part of you I have yet to see, I promise, I will fall in love with that too. I have worked all my life to save lives, never being able to live with myself should I choose to not do something to save a life in need. I never thought I would need a life besides my own, and yet here we are. No longer ‘doctor’ and ‘patient’, but soon to be ‘wife’ and ‘husband’. I’ve never been so excited to see what the next day will bring. I am glad to share the rest of my next days with you.” Angela could no longer contain her tears as they slowly glided down her cheeks. Combined with her wide smile, Genji never thought she could look more beautiful. Resisting the urge to kiss her then and there, in favor of it being all the sweeter when the opportune moment came, he simply squeezed her hand and cleared his throat as he too was barely containing his tears. He cleared his throat and began his own recital of his own vows.
“Angela, my dearest, I love you. You make me want to be the best I can be. I never thought of myself as a hero before I met you. I’ve seen the worst this world had to offer, but you show me that this world is still good. And I can live with that. You first showed me the good in men, and the good in me. I vowed, one day, to be worthy of your love, and even after that, to never stop loving you. You bring light wherever you go, and I am honored that you will let me be in your light for the rest of my life. I’ll love today, tomorrow, and all the days to come. I want to share in all your days, if you’ll have me.” Angela’s soft ‘yes’ was what unleashed Genji’s own tears.
With not a single dry eye in the room, Zenyatta’s soft voice proceeded with the ceremony. “And now, we come to the vows and giving of the rings.” Zenyatta paused and then turned to his pupil first. “Genji, do you take Angela Zeigler to be your wife? Do you promise to honor and love her, to cherish and protect her, both now and forevermore?”
Genji knew the answer to this question a long time ago, and he doubted he’d ever forget. “I do,” came the reply with finality.
“Angela, do you take Genji Shimada to be your husband? Do you promise to honor and love him, to cherish and protect him, both now and forevermore?”
Angela also knew the answer a long time ago. “I do,” she said through joyous tears.
“Do you have the rings?” inquired the omnic monk.
Hanzo and Mei each gave Genji and Angela a simple golden band. Turning to one another, they looked to the monk for their cues. “Genji, repeat after me. I, Genji Shimada,”
“I, Genji Shimada,”
“…with this ring…”
“…with this ring…”
“…do so take you as my wife.”
“…do so take you as my wife.”
“To have and to hold...”
“To have and to hold...”
“…in sickness and in health…”
“…in sickness and in health…”
“…for richer or poorer…”
“…for richer or poorer…”
“…in joy and sorrow…”
“…in joy and sorrow…”
“…and I promise my love to you…”
“…and I promise my love to you…”
“…all the days of my life…”
“…all the days of my life…”
“…and forevermore.”
“…and forevermore,” echoed the warrior as he gingerly slid the cool, gold ring onto his bride’s finger. The tears, having abated, gave one last drop before ceasing their cascade.
The wise android turned to the happy bride and began the process anew.
“Angela, repeat after me. I, Angela Zeigler,”
“I, Angela Zeigler,”
“…with this ring…”
“…with this ring…”
“…do so take you as my husband.”
“…do so take you as my husband.”
“To have and to hold...”
“To have and to hold...”
“…in sickness and in health…”
“…in sickness and in health…”
“…for richer or poorer…”
“…for richer or poorer…”
“…in joy and sorrow…”
“…in joy and sorrow…”
“…and I promise my love to you…”
“…and I promise my love to you…”
“…all the days of my life…”
“…all the days of my life…”
“…and forevermore.”
“…and forevermore,” she finished, nearly trembling with joy and love as she too slid Genji’s ring onto his left ring finger, which was thankfully still flesh and bone. Clasping both hands together once more, they waited for the greatest moment of the whole ceremony.
One could almost hear the non-synthetic joy in Zenyatta as he clearly said, “By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride.”
There a only a handful of moments in this life that can accurately be described as love incarnate. Holding one’s child for the first time, crying softly whilst bidding farewell to parents and leaving the nest, both are moments where love is expressed. It is there in those moments, good and bad, that one comes to believe in something bigger than anything they can find in this universe. Love is immeasurable, intangible, and beyond physical, but it is there in all those moments. But perhaps it is most evident in the first kiss a man and woman share as husband and wife. This was proven in the next few seconds.
Zenyatta had barely gotten the last word out before Genji and Angela swiftly embraced one another, fusing their lips together and breathing sighs of relief and Finally. After all they had lived through, it had all led to this one glorious moment. Both of them thanked whatever power above that gave them each other to share this life with. Their kiss was salty from their tears, but sweet from sheer amount of love they poured into it. With their eyes closed, all that existed to them was the person wrapped in their arms and the distant sound of thunderous applause, joyous laughter, and earnest applause. Neither could accurately tell you how long their kiss lasted, but they both will swear to this day that never wanted it to end. When it did, it was only for a moment before they rejoined their lips in this ultimate expression of that immaterial thing called love.
When they both finally separated and faced the crowd, the couple was met with smiling faces young and old. Those that reserved their smiles for the happiest of times had grins threatening to split their faces. Those that were almost always joyous could power the world for centuries with the ecstatic energy they now radiated. To say that morale was at an all-time high would be the understatement of the century.
“I now present to you Mr. and Mrs. Genji Shimada,” announced Zenyatta. The applause, if had died down at all surged in volume once again. It held for nearly two minutes before it subsided. “We shall head immediately to our reception in the courtyard. Thank you for attending.” The crowd began filing out the doors and onward to the celebration of the successful wedding of two people in love. Their new life was only just beginning, and would be filled with more love than they ever thought they’d have. But right now, in this moment, as the two stayed behind, sharing another deep, soul-filling kiss, they both knew. They knew that if this would be their last moment, it would have been more than enough.

Time for Gency fluff. Genji left behind his standard issue Blackwatch hoodie when he left. Mercy kept with her over the years. She wears it when it's really cold or she needs her comfort items around her.
She has a lot of strong feelings about Blackwatch and its operations, and not a lot of them good. A part of her feels like Genji and McCree were the only good things to come out of it, and even then, considering Blackwatch’s operations, ‘Good’ is relative, and it was a miracle that they didn’t go down in flames with it. Genji used to steal Reyes’ hoodies, but he left his own. The hoodie was more bittersweet than comforting, really. She knew it was silly to tie so much meaning to it. It’s a hoodie. It’s designed to be worn on chilly nights around the watchpoint, and to maintain body heat after training to prevent cramping up. It wasn’t missions in the dead of night carried out without the oversight of the UN. It wasn’t assassinations. It’s not espionage and blackmail. And yet she would look at that patch on the shoulder and somehow it was. One night when she was angry and lonely and not sober she slashed up the patch on the side with a scalpel but she just couldn’t bring herself to throw the damn thing away. And it was stupid and she chided herself for being stupid and emotional and then she chided herself over getting so upset for something Genji obviously wouldn’t be coming back for and then she was upset all over again knowing Genji was not coming back for this terrible hoodie. It didn’t matter anyway. It burnt up with a lot of other things when the Zurich headquarters were destroyed.
Years later Genji would tell her he made peace with who he was, and that was more comforting than any hoodie.

SHIPPING  INFO !! ANSWER  THE  FOLLOWING  FOR  YOUR  MUSE  SO  PEOPLE  KNOW  HOW  SHIPPING  WORKS  ON  YOUR  BLOG.
Tumblr media
WHAT  IS  YOUR  OTP  FOR  YOUR  CHARACTER ?
at the moment i have sooo many characters, but i’ll pick a few of my primary muses and give their otps!
KANROJI MITSURI        ━        one of my otps for mitsuri is of course obamitsu.
IORI UTAHIME        ━        truthfully i don’t have a lot of ships for utahime, but i do really like gojohime as long as there’s a lot of plotting beforehand.  it’s definitely one of my favourite slowburn otps.  ( i guess i’m really fussy with this one. )
TEMARI        ━        for temari i totally love temahina.
ANGELA ZIEGLER        ━        and for miss mercy i am a sucker for gency.
WHAT  ARE  YOU  WILLING  TO  WRITE  WHEN  IT  COMES  TO  SHIPPING ?
i am more than willing to write different genres, such as fluff, angst, action, and sometimes nsfw content!  when it comes to darker themes i would prefer to plot it through first, or if you have certain ideas in mind and want to write it i’d love to plot about it beforehand so i can understand the vibe of the idea!  i am also the type of role-player and shipper who likes to time-hop around in the ships timeline.  one thread could be something as new as a first meeting, and the second thread could be their literal wedding, i love moving around with ships and their dynamic - but that of course requires plotting.
HOW  LARGE  DOES  THE  AGE  GAP  HAVE  TO  BE  TO  MAKE  IT  UNCOMFORTABLE ?
i’m alright with age gaps as long as it’s within the ten year range, and the characters are above the age of 20.  for any characters that are 18 or 19 i prefer to keep the gap only a couple of years.  for any ships younger than 18 i prefer to have the ships gap be only 1 or 2 years old.  i won’t ship muses under the age of fifteen with anyone that isn’t the same age as them.  and i won’t ship any muses younger than 12 romantically at all, unless i’m close with a mutual and it’s very carefully plotted.
ARE  YOU  SELECTIVE  WHEN  SHIPPING ?
yes and no.  i, of course, have ships i like and dislike, and certain ships i could only write under certain circumstances.  but i am usually very open about the concept of shipping with people!  but i by no means won’t hesitate to tell you if a certain ship wouldn’t work out or anything along those lines!
HOW  FAR  DO  STEAMY  MOMENTS  HAVE  TO  GO  BEFORE  THEY  ARE  CONSIDERED  N.SFW ?
uhhhh, well nsfw is an umbrella term for a lot of content tbh.  for me personally nsfw includes smut, and maybe explicit foreplay.  anything from steamy kissing, groping and removal of clothes will be tagged under suggestive.  but i usually only tag smut or other sexual acts under nsfw.
WHO  ARE  OTHER  CHARACTERS  YOU  SHIP  YOUR  CHARACTER  WITH ?
for this section i think i’ll try and include some ocs, seeing as i don’t have a lot ships for my other canon muses, and my current fandom focuses are both jjk and kny.
KANROJI MITSURI        ━        shinazugawa sanemi, kocho shinobu, tomioka giyu, & uzui tengen.  mitsuri and shinobu is a more common one, but i’d definitely like to explore a ship between mitsuri and giyu!  i’m very lucky to already have ships with a sanemi and tengen for mitsuri.  and i would love some ships with ocs for mitsuri!
PETRA MÜLLER( JJK OC )        ━        inumaki toge, zenin maki, kamo noritoshi, okkotsu yuta, and maybe even fushiguro megumi!  and since petra is an oc i am leaping at the opportunity to ship her with other ocs!
ASHITOMI TAMASHINI( KNY OC )        ━        rengoku kyojuro, tomioka giyu, & ocs!  i could also see her with kokushibo in her demon verse!
NANAMI KENTO        ━        when it comes to nanami, i don’t have many canon ships for him.  the only one i remotely ship is nanahime ( nanami x utahime ), but other than that i typically ship nanami with ocs.
DOES  ONE  HAVE  TO  ASK  TO  SHIP  WITH  YOU ?
well, yeah, i don’t like to assume ship.  if we’ve got threads that are naturally leading towards a kind of romantic dynamic i will message!  otherwise, feel free to ask!
ARE  YOU  SHIP  OBSESSED  OR  SHIP  MORE-OR-LESS ?
i love a good ship.  that’s all i can say about the matter.  i am a simple being, i see ship, i love ship, i cuddle ship, i hold ship in my hands.
ARE  YOU  MULTISHIP ?
yes!
WHAT  IS  YOUR  FAVOURITE  SHIP  IN  YOUR  CURRENT  FANDOM ?
i’ll list three from three different fandoms!
KANROJI MITSURI        ━        at the moment it’s a ship i’m doing with a friends tengen where mitsuri is his fourth wife.  it’s so cute and it’s so fun to write.
NAKADA REINA( JJK VERSE )        ━        for reina’s jjk verse my favourite ship for her currently is with the same friend as above, only with their oc ahmya.  gay queens.
AHANE AIMI( OC )        ━        and in tokyo revengers my favourite ship is with my friends hanma, they’re so silly.
FINALLY,  HOW  DOES  ONE  SHIP  WITH  YOU ?
pls... just... message... me... like, literally just drop me a message and be like “ hey so what would you think about shipping ( name ) & ( name )” or “i wanna ship!” chances are i am 100% all for it!
tagged  by:  i snatched it...
tagging:  anyone who wants to do it!

I know I also have my Gency AU to work on
But there's never been a better time to write that Gency summer fluff fic I've had planned since the start of the year :) The Overwatch Summer Games event might finally give me the inspiration I need (but it probably won't be based on it)
