Something that is canon in my mind that I forget to tell people:
The reason why Steve can’t get bitches in his Scoops Ahoy era is because there’s a rumor going around that he’s gay (probably because someone caught him hooking up with Eddie)

Salty Post Warning
Winning after overtaking the leader in WDC standings (who has already won 6 races and will go on to win 9 more this season) three times and driving the last 10 laps with the throttle stuck: 9.6
Winning after overtaking the leader in WDC standings & winner of the previous 9 races when that driver's car had a brake stuck that led to him to retire a lap later, and your competitive team mate was told to hold position behind you, so no one actually challenged you all race: 10
I know these rankings are always controversial, but it also reminded me of just how high people's expectations of Charles are. Better in all 3 FPs than his teammate, qualified P5 but finished P2, fastest lap, and still only 7.8. Max didn't even race and got a 7.2. Make it make sense.

Okay, but so like.
SmallEtho/Boat Boys except Gem is Etho’s younger sister & helps Joel harass his ex-soulmate.
Just consider the shenanigan potential of Joel & Gem teaming up to mess with Etho.
Is Joel trying to win Etho back or is he trying to ruin Etho’s life? We just don’t know!
But Gem is 100% along for the ride & always ready to offer suggestions for whatever the scheme of the day is.

Aria Joie has a song stuck in her head. She knows all the lyrics. For a long time, whenever she thought of a song, she could hear the guide track too. Her own voice in her earpiece, peppy, encouraging, saying “One fifteen BPM! One, two, three, four!”, counting her through the dance break. That’s mostly faded away now.
“Open up my heart,” she sings, and she folds a paper plate in half and puts it in the trash. “Tear open up my heart!” New job tomorrow. New colleagues. She’s going into a casino to check out some CCT screw-up. She measures out a little pinch of fish food in her palm, and tips it into the tank by the door. A neon swirl.
It’s not “open up my heart,” is it? She’s got the lyric wrong. Get a glass of water, Aria. Clear your head. She wishes she could open a window but there’s no window in here. She pinches the bridge of her nose. “Open up—“ what was it? How long has she been misremembering?
Forget it. It’s not important. She goes to the kiosk in the lobby. Gets a soda and a gacha toy. Taps her foot to the music in the elevator on the way back up. Big day tomorrow.
Blackout. The arena goes silent. And then her voice, the first words spoken in the show. “Do you believe in the power of love?” Lightsticks, like a heart beat. “Do you? Do you believe in the power of love?”
counter/weight 0.5, thrilled enough

i cannot stress enough how much literally none of us want to hear what the actors think about Izzy’s death once the strike ends. None of us.
“But why not??” Because even if the actors don’t agree with the decision they literally cannot tell us that if they want to keep working. This industry is entirely built on relationships. Publicly criticising your boss’s creative decisions doesn’t book you more gigs.
So even if a fan does make the terrible decision to ask one of them, all we’re gonna get are vague, diplomatic answers and platitudes that’ll just add more fuel to this already blazing dumpster fire and piss off the fandom even more. This will be especially true for the actors who weren’t mainstream before this show (ie basically all of them)
So please, for the love of all of our sanities…
do not ask the actors for their opinion on Izzy’s death or the finale after the SAG strike ends!!!

#i probably come off sounding pretentious when i get excited about radiation incidents#like. uhm actually hiroshima was an airburst explosion so the fallout is minimal. chernobyl however exploded on the ground and included...#hot particles which blah blah blah
I Would Like To Hear More
@chasm-connected
Okay gosh uhm
I am not an expert in any way, but basically what I was referencing is how the different types of explosions (Hiroshima atom bomb air burst vs Chernobyl reactor meltdown) had drastically different levels of fallout
Let me preface by saying that this in no way is meant to minimize the real destruction, pain and suffering caused by the Hiroshima bombing - that is unspeakably heinous, but that is another post. This is specifically about the science of nuclear fallout
When the Hiroshima bomb exploded, it had not yet reached the ground. The heat and shockwave it produced were extreme and deadly, but the radiation did not stick around as long as one may expect. When that kind of explosion goes off in the air, radioactive particles disperse in the atmosphere and die out relatively quickly. Hiroshima today is a thriving metropolis - forever changed by its nuclear history but safe and livable!
Chernobyl, however, is another story entirely. The exclusion zone is still considered uninhabitable. One could visit and even spend a day or two in the area, but living there every day (as some people do, but again, that's another post) could have serious health effects. The ambient radiation levels are unsafe, even miles from ground zero.
Why?
Well. When the reactor exploded, it sent actual pieces of radioactive fuel into the atmosphere, which rained down all over the immediate area. Not particles that would disperse in the air, whole pieces of active fuel rods just... everywhere. There are still tiny bits of these rods and similarly radioactive materials from the explosion just... hanging out on and in the ground in Chernobyl, continuing to put out radiation. This is in addition to the core of the reactor that actually melted down, but that has been largely enclosed and shielded (though as it continues to slowly degrade there is a risk of further contamination to the ground/groundwater - another post!) The little hot particles everywhere? How do you shield or enclose them? How do you even find them all without putting people in danger? If you could, how long would it take?
There's more to it, of course, and if you want to learn more I highly recommend the Half Life Histories series of videos on YouTube by Kyle Hill. He's an actual scientist who can explain this stuff SO much better than I ever could.

one of my favorite things abt c!awesamdream, whether you're talking abt the awkward tension of the relationship just strictly based on how it's portrayed in canon or if you extrapolate into directions that might be more romantic and/or sexual in nature, is 1) the love that existed and still exists 2) the ways that the two characters struggle to navigate through and around admissions of that care and love and how it's been poisoned and 3) the ways that it makes literally nothing better (and oftentimes, everything worse)
thinking about the very, very tense ways c!Dream tiptoed around the idea of betrayal in Daedalus. thinking about c!Sam offering the prison as a way of keeping Dream alive in the disc vault, when he was staring down a sword about to take his final life. (thinks about c!Dream knowing that c!Sam would keep him alive and creating the plan in the disc finale around this.) thinking about isolation and intimacy, the ways that dream begged for sam's attention and was denied it, the ways that sam kept dream for himself (shutting out even quackity, in the end.) thinks about sam telling dream he would torture him, kill him, and then keeping him alive--again, and again, and again. thinks about dream finding the man that had held him and tortured him and sold him to be torn apart day after day and how he let him out of hell, thinking about his tone as he cornered sam by a broken nether portal and put a pickaxe through his eye and thinking about bye sam.
thinking about old friends.
just, the love that exists in trying to remake a world for the dream of a time with friends that loved you, that you loved more than life. they had a house with the beds all pushed together in the corner and they fished for name tags on the roof. the love that exists in trying to fix something (someone) that has broken, that has gone wrong, that is not working the way it should. saving and being saved. they were the only ones in that prison for months at a time--how could they not love each other? how do you know someone that well and rely on them for everything (dream knew that sam was the one thing standing between himself and certain death. in many ways, dream was the same for sam) without loving them, the blood on their hands and between their teeth and all. there's no version of c!awesamdream that exists without the love between them and they can neither dismiss it nor acknowledge its existence and it just. sits there.
the entire prison arc happens because dream loves sam enough to trust him with his life and sam loves dream enough to never be willing to let him go like it drives me nuts

my favorite contrast between rinney and brance is that usually during your standard cool-down and first aid session after a fight it always starts the same until they start talking about the fight
u get the gist with rinney. like “you know i really don’t like it when you do this it’s not necessary you could get hurt or in trouble blah blah blah” and robin’s always like yea ok i’ll try to tone it down a little
and then with brance it’s usually like. vance tells him why he got in said fight and if it is justified bruce is like “damn!! i’m glad you beat his ass fuck that guy!!!” and vance is like “THATS WHAT IM SAYING” and if it’s over something stupid he just laughs at him relentlessly. he does not tell him to stop in either situation
