things i’ve learned in 14 years of ed life and need to remind myself every once and awhile: (really it’s been almost 18, but the most severe years were between the ages of 14-28)
1. don’t set a date to lose weight by. you’ll sabotage yourself. instead, set a goal weight, and a plan to meet that goal, and give yourself time to meet it.
2. don’t punish yourself for slipping and eating. you’re human. you need food to survive. you’re starving yourself. you’re going to break your fast one day. or “forget” you’re restricting one day because you saw something that looked sooo damn good and you ate it without even realizing. you’re going to go over your calorie limit once and awhile. you’re going to binge. it’s inevitable.
3. learn how to curb the binges. just cause you start, doesn’t mean it’s too late to stop. if you eat 100 calories, don’t turn it into 1000. you can burn off the extra 100-500cals way easier than 5000.
4. learn your triggers. avoid them.
5. just exercising doesn’t work well. just starving yourself doesn’t work well. you need to restrict AND work out. seriously. the results are in and i just lost 35lbs in 3 months. like my drs MA that weighed me saw the red line and exclamation mark that i’d lost 20% of my body weight in 3 months and she flipped out. my weight loss has slowed a little the last 2-3 weeks and it’s 100% because i stopped exercising as much when school started. i usually walk 3 miles every morning on the track after i drop my son off at daycare. it’s my lifeline. if i don’t walk the track every morning now i get super pissy, shit gets bad, and i either gain weight or plateau. restricting and working out work wayyyy better if you do them together.
6. drink water! i know everyone says this. but everyone says this for a reason. it keeps your tummy full so you eat less food, it helps flush everything out, it helps keep your digestive system running, it helps keep your face clear, it helps keep the headaches down, it helps you lose weight… water is just super good for you and you should drink it. but don’t drink too much. if you dilute your body too much, you can kill yourself. literally. if you drink too much water (e.g. 2-3 gallons in under an hour) you’ll die. so don’t drink that much. but, ya know… a gallon, or a gallon and a half spread out over a day is good.
7. allow yourself a treat every once and awhile. not a binge. not an unhealthy treat. it doesn’t even have to be a food treat. but give in once and awhile. get your nails done, take a fun class, make something, draw something, have an ice cream cone. do give yourself the opportunity to indulge in something. or else you become bitter and resentful.
8. once a week, up your calories by at least 200-500. it’ll kickstart your metabolism and you’ll lose weight faster. just don’t keep up the higher calorie count for more than ONE DAY or you’ll start gaining again. but one of those days every couple weeks is great to avoid a plateau.
9. when your clothes start getting really baggy, buy a smaller size. there’s nothing quite as rewarding as going from a large to a small. i just made the switch a few weeks ago and it’s amazing.
10. feel your b0ne3. rub your hands over your r1b3, your h1pb0n3s, your c0llarb0n3s look at your thigh gap.. get on tumblr, look at th1nsp0, it’ll keep you motivated.
11. take lots of pictures. it’s great to look back and see the progression from fat and gross to being skinny and beautiful 🥰

You’d think Kirishima would be the one to go pup-crazy, but in fact, it’s Bakugou.

Male omegas have a harder time getting pregnant than female omegas, or even female betas. Fuck, even female alphas have a better shot at it than him. But Bakugou wants a family with pups. Viscerally wants dumb fat little babies waddling around his house, growing up big and strong and loved. God their pups… they don’t even exist yet but he’s already protective as fuck over them. They should be here with them.
Having a higher body fat percentage is one of the many traits correlated to male omegas successfully conceiving and carrying pups to term. And Bakugou is lean and mean. Plus, he has always had short, intense heats for an omega his age, a trait that works against him on the fertility front.
Kirishima accepts him no matter what, pups or no. Because of course he fuckin’ does. So Bakugou sets up their appointments. Their numbers are ok-ish. They come up with a plan. But what it boils down to is this:
Bakugou has gotta get some fat on him.
Being a little heavier (“fluffier” as Kiri puts it) will also lengthen out his heats from 3 to maybe 5 days. It’ll also protect against the worst of the weight loss that comes with male omegas being sick for the first 3 months.
He’s done all the research. They’ve met with a nutritionist and 3 doctors. They’ve come up with a plan. Kirishima is still in the “we shouldn’t push it” and “if it happens, it happens” camp because parenthood means putting hero work on hiatus. It’s something they’re both hesitant to do. Plus, Bakugou’s body will undergo a lot of stress; he’ll be forever changed. But Bakugou reminds him of every scar and villain fight that changed him, that changed them both. This isn’t that different. This a battle he wants to win.
So, they get down to it.
Kirishima goes on rut suppressants while they both focus on softening up Bakugou. It’s…painfully slow going at first. He’s powerful and strong, got the metabolism of a damn freight train. But gains are made. The inches and the pounds slowly start to stick to his muscular frame. Every gain feels like a cause for celebration! But it’s a lot of eating…
The plan is 40 pounds. And honestly, it’s not that much. It’s insurance. But once he finally (finally!) hits the 15 pound mark, it’s like a switch gets flipped. Not only does Bakugou’s appetite increase, but his metabolism finally starts to slow. And then the inches really start to show! Bakugou’s so damn proud of himself. Before he realizes it, he’s got 30 pounds of jiggling, soft flesh on his middle that wasn’t there a few months ago. It’s so… unlike the rest of him. Sure, his ass rounded out a bit, and his arms softened a little. But the belly he’s sporting now looks like mochi.
And it’s driving both him and his alpha wild. Why? Well, not only is it super fun to touch, to grab, to shake and pat, but it represents Bakugou’s growing fertility. He feels good like this. Plus, his alpha is so easy to tease. He can laze around, just rubbing and jiggling his belly, and suddenly a couple hundred calories worth of snacks just magically appears. It’s hard for Kiri to hide how much he loves what this is doing to Bakugou’s body. He can’t keep his hands off his omega’s perfect, softening belly. He’s gonna put pups there someday. And Bakugou can’t keep his hands off his belly either. The jiggle is just really nice, ok? When he’s pupped, it’s not gonna be all soft and comfy, and he knows that. But for now, it’s easier to imagine what being knocked up is gonna be like.
Bakugou’s first heat with the extra weight is insane. Kiri’s still on the suppressants as a pregnancy prevention; any pregnancy before Bakugou’s body is ready may not make it. They’d rather not risk it. But damn does Bakugou miss his alpha’s knot. Without his rut, Kiri can just barely keep up with his absolutely frantic, mess of an omega. He’s begging for more! Another round, another snack, more of everything.
The fact that Bakugou is an omega is public knowledge. And male omega’s gaining weight can only mean one thing. All around them, he’s suddenly doted on wherever he goes. By fans, his parents, their friends, random shop owners, everyone. Which, frankly, he hates because he only wants Kiri to spoil him. But how can he push away all the amazing treats? Those extra calories are necessary to get his body ready! So he takes what he’s offered, eating thousands of calories a day and getting softer.
40 pounds comes and goes. Kiri goes off his suppressants, and Bakugou has gained a respectable 55 pounds when Kiri goes into rut. Of course his omega responds and his heat starts the next day. Almost perfect coordination! They’re the best at this baby-making thing! It’s the most intense cycle they’ve ever shared, and Bakugou is certain he’s thoroughly bred by the end. He spent most of his heat face down in their bed being ravaged, spending more time being split open on Kiri’s cock than not. And his body handles it for 5 whole days.
The first cycle doesn’t bring any pups. But they’re not discouraged. It’s to be expected! It takes a couple of cycles even for couples with the highest chances!
What isn’t expected is that Bakugou’s weight continues to climb. And climb.

in which alhaitham switches places with his younger self and everyone handles this extraordinarily badly. we will improve this situationship or die trying. now on ao3! first two scenes below for ur reading pleasure.
Alhaitham, being no longer in his living room, decides the first thing he should do is sit down. He does so.
He’s in an Akademiya dorm room. It’s early afternoon. A few moments ago it was late at night and he was speaking with Kaveh, who was in the kitchen of Alhaitham’s own house. Alhaitham was leaning against the couch in the living room and flipping through a book that wasn’t worth the paper it’d been printed on. The book is also gone.
Alhaitham only began dreaming again eight months ago, but he’s confident that this isn’t a dream. It looks, with a great deal more specificity than could be possible even for his sleeping mind, like Kaveh’s dorm room. Books of design, materials science, desert exploration, runic translation, and piano theory are piled on the desk. There is, laying on the bedsheets by Alhaitham’s hand, a cheap but fashionable earring he remembers vividly for the way it had caught the light in their single shared lecture, late afternoon in the hall below the Sanctuary. Semiotics and Glassmaking in Deshret’s Kingdom. He skims the earring briefly with a fingertip then moves his hand to his lap.
He considers what this might mean.
The door swings open and Kaveh says, “Haitham, can you take some of these? I borrowed everything I could find on desert Seelies but it’s really almost nothing, like I can’t tell if we’re running into another ridiculous knowledge restriction again or if genuinely no one’s ever tried to track the Seelie courts in Upper Setekh, which would be so typical, wouldn’t it, so I grabbed everything else I saw on the–”
Kaveh’s face is bright, young, flushed, freckled, happy. He’s wearing an Akademiya uniform and is as tall as the last time Alhaitham saw him (fifteen minutes ago) which means he’s an inch or two shorter than the last time Alhaitham saw him, because the uniform boots are heeled. He’s staring at Alhaitham with the aforementioned flush spreading like dye over the silk of his cheeks.
“Kaveh,” Alhaitham says. “Don’t freak out. I believe I’ve been displaced in time.”
“Oh, I,” Kaveh says. His hands start to go slack beneath the stack of books leaning against his chest, so Alhaitham takes the books from him and sets them on the chair beside the desk.
“You–yes,” Kaveh says, the flush climbing down his neck and up to his ears now. “I–oh.”
He couldn’t be more than eighteen. Which would make it, assuming this is in fact the past Alhaitham remembers, which he really has no way to determine without further investigation, the year Alhaitham himself turned sixteen.
“I developed a bodybuilding habit when I was twenty and attempting to do some metabolic experiments that ultimately proved unfruitful,” Alhaitham says. “You can touch my shoulders if that would get this over with.”
Kaveh, whose left hand had begun to drift with little apparent thought towards Alhaitham’s bare deltoid, snaps back so hard his head smacks into the doorframe. “I’m so sorry!” he says. “I’m so sorry, this is so rude of me, I should never have assumed, I’m so sorry, and you’re so much older, and you never said–”
Alhaitham sighs.

Kaveh stands bent over the kitchen sink, working his jaw and watching his cuticles slowly go to ribbons in the soapy water. Not literally. Literally enough. He should have let Alhaitham buy the stupid gentle dish soap that didn’t ruin Kaveh’s cuticles. Kaveh stops himself from thinking further on Alhaitham’s incredibly domineering dish soap opinions.
Alhaitham has gone quiet in the living room, but that doesn’t mean very much. The state of their immortal souls could be at stake and Alhaitham would still bar himself from Celestia before he continued a conversation he continued boring. Or a fight.
Kaveh works his jaw harder, tension dull and radiant above one eye. It’s not impossible for him to wait Alhaitham’s silence out. He’s done it before and he could do it again. It’s a way to end a fight, and wouldn’t it be nice, ever, to end a fight? Without starting another? Could they hope for that much peace, at the least?
Suds climb up Kaveh’s wrists. The number of nights he’s spent in this same position, mirroring himself like silvered glass over the past year and whatever he’s lived in Alhaitham’s house, frustrated and sad and exhausted by this whole situation, feels suddenly like a millstone around his neck. What a joke.
“Look, I get that you don’t think conversation is worth your time!” Kaveh shouts as he slams the cutting board into the sink. “But pretending like this isn’t a problem just because you’re bored is not actually a long-term solution to the problem!”
Silence. “Haitham, I know you’re still out there!”
“Kaveh?” Alhaitham calls back. His voice ends on a high and uncharacteristic quaver.
Kaveh throws himself through the door to the living room.
There’s a different Alhaitham standing in the soft streetlamp glow of the window. There’s an infant Alhaitham. He’s skinny, teetering, his hair too long over his ears, where are his headphones?, god, look at those stretch marks on his shoulders, red as fresh paint—
Alhaitham is looking up at the ceiling, head tipped back, balancing poorly on his heels as he turns. His head follows the lines of the woodwork. “Is this—” His voice cracks, squeaking in a way that Kaveh was viciously self-conscious of when he was young and Alhaitham never gave a shit about. Alhaitham didn’t start the masculinizing meds until he was at least fifteen, supplies a portion of Kaveh’s heart that very rarely forgets. His voice hasn’t cracked since they were—
Alhaitham looks from the vaulted ribs of his home to Kaveh. His eyes are enormous. He appears full of stars. “Is this the research center… you designed?” he asks. “This is our project?”
“Oh, no,” says Kaveh.
He’s wearing the undershirt and trousers of an Akademiya uniform. The permanent frowning divot between his eyebrows has yet to form. The longer he looks at Kaveh, his pale eyes flickering from Kaveh’s face to hands to chest to belt, the more he appears, ludicrously, to blush.
“Oh, no,” says Kaveh, as Alhaitham trips backwards over the footstool and lands flat on his ass.

The batfamily is cold in the batcave. What do each of them do?
Dick - Does a couple gymnastics moves absent-mindedly. Can get into a nasty spiral if he works up a sweat, because sweat is far too good at cooling someone down. Everyone else is in the habit of bringing him layers. He'll wear them, but he rarely seeks them out.
Babs - this is one of the reason she doesn't come over to the cave frequently. Keeping her body temperature regulated is an issue. She uses her lap blanket and sweaters, but finds them distressing. Sets off her internalized ableism. That was the image of wheelchair users she grew up with - shapeless clothes and blanketed legs, being pushed around by attendants.
Jason - adds layers. He used to be able to get up to 5 sweaters, but there aren't any big enough for more than 2, these days. So he breaks out the cold weather gear. He WILL wear thermal long underwear. He feels no shame in keeping warm, and it's good for most of the others to have him around.
Tim - Tim is almost always cold, whether in the cave or not. (Small body, low bodyfat ratio, and high metabolism.) It's why there's always a hot beverage beside him, and he switches to his uniform as soon as he gets downstairs. Recently, he added hot water to his hot chocolate and coffee rota. It's boring, but it's not like he NOTICES what he's drinking after the first sip. He also has special typing gloves, in case the heated keyboard stops working for some reason. And blankets. But he's a bit too anxious for those, these days. They limit his movement.
Steph - REALLY depends on the day. Some days, she excitedly gets out a cute hat or jacket. Some days she starts huddling in on herself and gets grouchy. Other days she goes and curls up on the heated chair and turns into a basking lizard. (The chair is just for her. Nobody else likes warming devices that restrict them to one place. She is not aware of this.)
Cass - blanket ball. She loves blankets! She has a high cold tolerance, but when it gets bad enough to notice, she grabs all the blankets, portions out a few to those she considers worthy, and wraps herself with the rest.
Damian - gets stressed and grouchy. Doing a couple flips isn't a useful form of keeping warm for him, and Dick didn't think to teach him something better. Since everyone returned to Gotham, he's picked up the habit of throwing sweaters at Dick or Bruce, which they recognize as a sign that he also needs warm things. Usually, this is provided in the form of warm drinks, as the chill is already deep enough blankets aren't going to do much.
Duke - Puts on a sweater and then climbs something, jumps off, gets too hot, starts sweating, removes the sweater, and then gets a chill. Every time. He is MUCH worse than Dick. Everyone is trying to figure out what intervention would be effective. He is quite resistant to interventions.
Bruce - he shivers, then pauses to see if Alfred drops a blanket or sweatshirt onto him. If Alfred is upstairs, and his spider-sense didn't activate, Bruce shrugs and returns to work. His brain doesn't bother to remember something so trivial, and he's surprised to be stiff and sore later.
Alfred - quietly curses the passage of time and gets whatever is appropriate from the little closet set aside for his gear. Aging is inconvenient. He now has special shoes with insulated soles he switches to whenever he comes into the cave. Such rubbish!

He's in a cage. That's the first thought Maverick has because even with his eyes shut, glued tackey at the lashes from who knows what, he can feel the space enclosing him and the chill of metal, barely body warm beneath his cheek and naked side. His feet are bare is the next observation, and finally, when the fogginess keeping his brain locked in a confused tailspin lets up, the muzzle strapped across his face makes itself known. There's a bit between his teeth, locked in place by a wide meshed cup hooked just over his nose and beneath his chin, pressing into his cheeks at the edges, and four straps connect to a tightly cinched knot at the back of his head.
A growl, unbidden, rips from Maverick's throat, and when he tries to bring his hands to his face, eyes finally cracking open as he fights to be upright and fights to be free, it becomes blatantly clear that his wrists are cuffed and connected to a length of inflexible metal. The end is attached to the front-facing bars of the cage, a ring punched through the bottom and hooked to the lowestmost point, allowing Maverick just enough mobility to touch the front of the muzzle but not the back, not if he doesn't want to dislocate his shoulders or drag himself to the bars where he is now able to make out movement beyond.
All at once, as if a switch is flipped, his brain comes to life, and the rest of his circumstances come pouring into awareness. Guards, two of them armed and wrapped in heavy kevlar, are stationed a few feet away, their backs turned. The guns on their hips are tasers, but that's almost worse for Maverick. Elecritcy likes to linger; it scrambles his nerves and zaps his strength. A bullet? He's shrugged off worse.
Past them, Maverick sees a handful of bodies draped in white coats. There's also lab equipment and, sickeningly, more cages. He can't smell anything past antiseptic and sweat, his own and that of the people rushing around, and there's a low-level hum unnatural enough that he can tell it's intentional, probably meant to keep him disoriented.
Once he's sat up, just about to really test the strength of his bindings and trying to will his faster metabolism to burn out whatever the hell they knocked him out with, one of the two guards in front of his cage seems to realize he's awake. They bang on the metal bars, first with the flat of their palm, then, thinking better of it, with a long metal baton.
"Don't even think about it, dog. Causing us problems isn't gonna go well for you." There's a nasty kind of smugness in his tone, and Maverick, pushed to the edge of anger and desperation just on the basis of having been caught, bares his teeth around the metal in his mouth, knowing that the flash of his freshly elongated fangs will be unmistakable through the slits in the muzzle. The growl he lets out now is louder, too, filled with promise. The guard turns, and when they lock eyes, Maverick gives a mighty and meaningful yank on the pole connected to his right wrist.
It hurts, digs into his skin, and makes him bleed, but it has the effect of pissing off the guard enough that they come a step closer. When Maverick does it again, snarling now, bestial and taunting, making as much of a racket as he can manage, they get closer. The guard begins to raise the baton in their hand, obviously trying to menace and missing by a mile. Maverick uses the opportunity between the rise and fall of their arm to swing his leg out from beneath him and kick it between the just wide enough opening of the cage bars. He brings his leg down, hard and fast, and wants to yip in glee when he smells the fresh tang of blood and feels the skin split beneath the claws on his toes.
They shouldn't have taken his shoes. They shouldn't have assumed he was restrained with just his hands and teeth locked away.
The pop of the taser from the second guard is expected, but Maverick manages to get his leg back into the cage before it happens and swallows down his pitiful sounds of pain while the guard he'd maimed wails where they've fallen. It's as satisfying as it can be.
He's still shaking with the aftershocks of the electricity when the air in the room changes, panic from the surrounding bodies after the attack dwindling into a heavy silence. The sound of loafer heels clicking against the flat stone of the lab floor punctuates the appearance of whom Maverick can only assume is the person in charge.
Blinking away the painful tears of the tasing, he sees another coat and follows the line of folded arms over a broad chest. He sees blue eyes and slicked-back dirty blonde hair, too. Maverick sees the smirk.
His stomach rolls.
"I thought I warned you," the newcomer says, voice low and stern but still smiling somehow as his gaze never leaves Maverick's from between the cage bars, "he's dangerous."
Maverick forces himself back into a crouch, but this time, he keeps himself as far back as he can manage without looking like he's cowering. He meets Ice's stare with as large of a sneer as he can manage around the bit, his mouth pulling painfully enough that tasting his own blood isn't surprising.
Ice takes a calculated step forward, over the body of the guard they've just left there, passed out or dead, and tilts his head like he's interested in the half-animal stance that Maverick's taken up in the prison he now knows how he was shoved so easily into.
"Let's see how long you can keep that up, Mave-rick."

i do have some goals for my body - these are majorly rooted in vanity - and that's okay. it's Dora Milaje looking out for me, protecting me from years of being fat shamed by my mother and society. this is why losing weight makes me feel more confident - and that's okay. my weight loss goals are also rooted in nurturing it so it can do the best of all the magic it is capable of. i want to lose fat to

goddd, if not for 75 days, i really hope to see this through for the 56 days to my exam at least. //stress surge// ok, i've got this. everything is ok, i am enough and i am capable of way more than my stressed out self feels rn. i'm not doing anything i don't want to - all of these things are exactly what i want for myself, and it's just my surface brain that's feeling so apprehensive and stressed. once i get into it, it's all going to be fine amazing because let's be honest ok: i love eating healthy and putting thought into my food, i love working out, i fkn love yoga and how good it makes my body feel, i love the deep stillness of meditation, and studying is that exact perfect blend of challenge+something i'm good at that gets me flowing.

Biologically, cattle are basically just more docile bison. Human selective breeding has probably made some difference to how much metabolic resources domestic cattle invest in growth vs. everything else, but cattle and bison are physiologically and structurally very similar organisms and meat is already a large percentage of a bison's mass, so I doubt it's an orders of magnitude difference. It's not like fruit, where you can easily selectively breed the plant to grow orders of magnitude bigger fruit.
There is the factor that with domestic cattle you can feed them stuff that isn't wild grass. You can feed them irrigated farmed animal feed crops extensively selectively bred for high yields that grow in monoculture fields with no competition and have their own growth supercharged by commercial fertilizers full of mined phosphorus and Haber process nitrogen etc.. That might make an orders of magnitude difference. But I have the admittedly vague impression that while modern cattle-raising does involve a significant amount of stable feeding with animal feed crops or agricultural waste, it also still involves quite a bit of basically just letting the cattle walk around the landscape and eat grass.
It's worth noting that there is at least one major biome where basically industrialized hunting is still a major modern food source for humans: the ocean. It doesn't seem crazy to imagine the same approach might work in terrestrial contexts; the oceans and the land have similar total productivity and the land is significantly more productive per average square kilometer. On the flip side, it's also worth noting that modern fishing isn't exactly a glowing model of sustainability and even there we're seeing a switch to aquaculture.
Like, I doubt "return the land to the bison and then industrially harvest them the way we harvest ocean fish" would actually be a good idea (or what Headspace Hotel actually wants to do), but it actually isn't obvious to me that it would be orders of magnitude less land-efficient than modern cattle ranching, at least in terms of meat production (a major advantage of cattle over wild bison is you can milk cattle, but we're talking about meat, so that isn't very relevant).
Now I wonder to what degree modern San Franciscan office workers eating way more meat than tenth century Chinese peasants has more to do with improvements in transport (railroads, trucks, motorized ships), food preservation (canning and refrigeration), weapons (guns and railroads enable agriculturalist states to conquer semi-arid nomad country and turn it into export-oriented meat factories), and the efficiency of specifically chicken production than with a general increase in the land efficiency of meat production.
Aside: I have no idea how realistic it is, but "basically treat bison the way we treat fish" gives me a mental image of giant vehicles that drive around the Great Plains to run down herds of bison and pull them in for efficient industrial slaughter, dismemberment, and packaging; basically exactly how fishing boats work, but on land! Giant vehicles roaming steppes and gathering up big wild herbivores for on-site slaughter and processing might be a neat idea for speculative fiction!

I wonder what goes on with my brain that I often wake up around 4-6am with like 50 important things to say in excruciating detail that have to be written down immediately or else. Obviously some neurological switch flips at this time, but who knows why. I don't experience this as much later in the day when I'm more awake.
As someone who fancies themselves kind of gothy, it was very disturbing to have to consider whether I'm a morning person. What does it mean to be a morning person? Is it that the sun rises, and then you feel alert and ready to face the day? Do pleasure or feelings of preparedness have to factor into it? I don't really experience a lot of either of those things no matter what time it is. It's just like, I reached a certain age, and now I can't sleep past a certain time, even if I didn't sleep through the night, for some awful metabolic reason. My first thought upon waking is almost always, "Oh no, I'M AWAKE AGAIN."
Anyway upon review of my intervals of greatest activity, I don't think I'm a morning person. I'm actually crepuscular.

Hi, I wanted to start off and say a little about myself and my page.
As said in my bio, my name is River and I'm currently 17. I'm nonbinary, bisexual, and use she/they pronouns.
I would describe myself as a game of Russian roulette. I'm either very calm and quiet, or very chaotic and impulsive, and there's not rly much of a way to tell which I'll be at any given time. But, it makes life just that little bit spicier :D I'm also very empathetic and love to help people whenever I can.
My interests and passions include music, playing in my band, skateboarding, art, reading, writing, tattooing, walking, psychology, criminology, being a cadet, and of course, helping others <3
Things I struggle with are, anxiety, depression, CPTSD, eating disorders, ADHD, dyslexia, (currently being assessed for autism and BPD), as well as many chronic physical illnesses cus I'm unlucky and seem to be collecting these things xD
Now, this page, as stated in my bio, is a blog to vent and track progress of my ed. I'm going to talk a little more about that now, so for anyone who is triggered by talk of eating disorders or self harm or anything like that, here is your trigger warning, and I do not advise you read on.

So, my life of eating disorders and mental health struggles started from a young age. I'm not going into as much detail in this post but I might make another one with more detail.
It started pretty much from around the age of 5 where I was extremely skinny. I was badly bullied for being so small. No matter how much I ate, I could never gain because my metabolism was too fast. I later found out it was overactive, which was contributing to some of the illnesses I was having. As I got older, I was still made fun of for being so small and weak. My eating habits and relationship with food was a mess. I felt I had no sence of control and would contanty switch between over-eating and under-eating. As I got a little older, I noticed things started to change a little. The way I saw myself would constantly change and it scared me and I didn't know if my body was changing, or my perception of myself was changing. Around the age of 13 though, that overactive thyroid (causing the fast metabolism) flipped during a condition called a thyroid storm. I was extremely ill for a long time. And the worst part of it to me was that it had caused my body to do a 180. My thyroid was (and still is) underactive and it slowed my metabolism down a fuck tonne. I gained a lot of weight, very fast and struggled to lose it again. I was then bullied for being the fat kid. And so I ended up on a rollercoaster of over/under-eating and gaining and losing weight. Around the age after I'd got out of juvie (that's another story for another day) 15/16 I'd been starving myself for so long, I'd gotten to a new lw and got seriously ill and ended up being put into a psych ward. (I'd even in one a few times before but not entirely ed related). I could bearly move because I was so weak and ill and I ended up being force fed for ages. Because of that, I started bingeing once I was let out. Which made me gain weight and turned into a binge purge cycle. I ended up gaining weight because of my condition. Then about a year ago, something clicked in my head. I refused to let myself go through this hell of ups and downs and constant switches in what I was doing. It was sorta like my honeymoon phase had finally kicked in. I became stricter with the foods I'd allow myself to eat, how many calories I consumed and the exercise I did to then lose those. Since then, its still not been easy and definitely not smooth sailing. But while I've had a few ups and down, I've gotten to a new low weight and im closer now than I have been in years to my ugw of 63lbs.
My main course of action at the moment is to fast as much as possible and if/when I do eat, keep it a low cals as possible, preferably not sugar or carbs. As well as that, doing an average of 10,000 to 15,000 steps a day. I also have to remember to drink a lot of water and if I drink anything other than that, it's only allowed to be black coffee, no sugar, or 0cal energy drinks for the energy boost.
I also follow Chloe Ting's workout routines when I can to try and keep my body tonned instead of just having fat.

My trans thoughts have been getting more prevalent. And it's really hard to tell if it's just because my gender has settled into a more comfortable feminine area and I'm just wanting to fit the "presentation", or if it's because I really want to be transfem.
I've been on an antiandrogen (spironolactone) for two months at this point, and I've loved seeing my facial stubble slow down to a crawl. There's no way I'm going back to testosterone, and I'm looking forward to seeing more progression.
But every time I think about it, I would much prefer to have a feminine form. I've been "blessed" with a metabolism that won't let me gain any weight (I'm 6' 135lbs at 31), and the reason I say blessed is because if I would be so dysphoric if I were to gain any amount of body fat in a masculine way. But in a feminine way? Heck, I'd actually try to put on some weight.
And yet, I still have moments of raw panic. My internal monologue just goes ballistic, terrified of the things I'm doing and how I'm changing and that it would be so much safer and better to just keep things the same as they have been.
But I know that's not true. Even if I didn't do HRT, things wouldn't just stay the same. I'd continue to grow, continue to age, and continue to change as I continue to live. Something that's helped me (not just with this but with life in general) is telling myself that I can't stop moving forward, but I can decide how I move forward.
At this point, I've all but decided to start on estrogen sometime in the coming year. I just haven't decided when. I still need to come out to my family (both as being genderfluid and likely transfem), plus I have some very big plans for October this year that still need planned.
And of course this is all still subject to change because I'm genderfluid and have ADHD, so my desires might flip like a switch. But it still feels good to get this all out in this moment.

CHAPTER TWO: GETTING A SIGNAL (Bucky + Prism)

It was one of the rare occasions where Prism and Bucky were sent on a mission together. Of course, things went haywire and they found themselves deep underground in the enemies base.
After the big fight, the enemy decided to just level the entire place- resulting in them being trapped while the enemy agents escaped.
Most of them at least.
They'd managed to reprogram some of the Ultron Era robots to patrol the lower levels and they were the current problem.
With the building literally collapsed into a pile of rubble on top of them, the Avenger pair were trapped with the enemy.
Just before the base had been blown, one of the agents had managed to inject Bucky with something that seemed to temporarily weaken the effects of the serum- inhibiting his ability to heal quickly.
Prism and Bucky wound up separated for a while until she rounded the corner just in time to see one of the repurposed robots make his torso into Swiss cheese.
"Bucky!" she bolted over to his collapsed form, beheading the bot with one swipe of her magic, it's body fell to the floor loudly.
Blood poured from at least seven holes, his eyes grew hazy as she dropped to her knees beside him. "I've got you, I'm gonna get you out of this." She swore, trying to hide her panic.
More robotic footsteps could be heard coming closer. "I've got to get us somewhere they won't see us. Hang on, Buck. If you die on me....I'll kill you."
He grinned a little, grunting in pain as she grabbed under his arms and pulled him into the closest room. A trail of blood followed them as she got him into the dark, musty control room. She gritted her teeth as she dragged him to a clear spot on the ground.
Honestly, she wasn't sure if her magic could do this but considering it seemed to do almost whatever she needed, she decided to try.
"Stay awake, Buck. I'm gonna get you out of this." She gulped and met his eyes briefly before sending her magic to her hands- white and pastel light cast an ethereal glow over her features that entranced him in his slightly delirious state.
Bucky watched in awe as she put her glowing hands over his torso, closing her eyes in concentration. He gave a shaky exhale in relief as his pain stopped for the moment and her magic encased his entire torso.
"I can feel the inhibitor they injected you with. I'm trying to help you metabolize it...and help with your major injuries. It's bad, I'm not gonna lie." She knit her brows in concentration, a stream of blood slid from one side of her nose as she worked- a sign of her efforts.
Not that she had any idea, but her partner watched her the entire time unable to look away. It was slow, hard work and after an hour or so of constant effort her magic began to flicker out.
"...Come on..." she tried to force more magic but her nosebleed only dropped from the other nostril as well as she got progressively more light headed.
"Take a break, Priz. You're about to pass out."
"But...but...UGH!" She growled in annoyance as her magic went out like someone had flipped the off switch.
He couldn't help his grimace as his pain returned. Life threatening injuries were taken care of but he was still hurt, weak and bleeding.
"I'll have to use natures magic." She resigned, wiping her nose on her arm that sported a few scrapes and bruises of her own.
"You're gonna cuddle with me?" He asked, arching an eyebrow.
"It's that or you die down here- and I won't let that happen. I'll try to heal you again when my magic comes back, but right now this is the best I can do for you. I'm sorry if the idea is repulsive but..." she grunted as she sat him up a bit and dragged him over toward a support pillar.
"No man left behind. I'm gonna get you out of here alive, Buck, or die trying." She promised, rendering him speechless as he gained a new respect for her.
She managed to slide between his back and the concrete, getting him to lay against her torso, between her legs. Her arms wrapped around him as she rested her cheek on the top of his head.
Bucky was unable to move thanks to a paralytic in the inhibitor, so he had to let himself rest against her. Admittedly, her boobs made nice pillows on either side of the back of his head.
He told her as much, getting a growl in response that made him smirk.
"I think in light of our current situation..." he waited for the pain from being moved to subside a bit, "We should call for a temporary truce. I don't think we should die fighting each other."
She sighed, "Deal. I'm too tired to be angry with you anymore. I don't think I could come up with a sarcastic comment if I tried."
She tired to use her ear piece to call for help but got no response.
"Coms are down and there's no way we're going to get a signal down here through all the rubble." Prism frowned, brow creasing as she had used a lot of her magic to slowly help her partners body fight the chemical he'd been injected with. "My magic is running on empty trying to keep you afloat. Honestly, I'm open to suggestions." She tried to heal him again, flinching as she felt a stab in her gut as her magic began to drain her.
Bucky was quiet for a moment as the thought, eyes trained on her hands that glowed with silver and pastel light against his blood stained tactical vest.
"I know how we can get a beacon to Steve, but you're not gonna like it."
"I think we've established the life and death situation were in, with our temporary truce in affect...just tell me."
He licked his dry lips, "I know you don't have much knowledge on what it's like to have a mate," he began.
"Not now, Barnes." She sighed, flinching as she felt another stab that sent liquid up her throat. She leaned to the side and coughed up some blood, wiping her mouth on her shoulder.
The beta frowned down at the spot on the floor for a moment, "Let me finish! And take a break, before both of us are defenseless. I'm not gonna die if you stop for a while."
After a moment of hesitation, she relented and let her hands stop glowing. He clenched his jaw a little as his pain returned but didn't make an audible sound.
"We're too far apart for mate telepathy, so the only way I can get a signal to him is if our bond detects infidelity."
He heard her breath catch, and felt the rise and fall of her chest speed up.
"Y-you mean..."
"We're both betas, so there's no risk to you. Once I cum from someone else our bond will lead him right to us like a bloodhound."

Bucky snickered in his seat and Steve openly began to laugh.
She began to sulk, a dark cloud over her head as her cheeks burned.
"You did save his life though so...you can have one free-bee without supervision." Steve said quietly, resting his cheek on the top of her head
"Gee thanks." She rolled her eyes but accepted the physical contact that was already helping with her soreness and exhaustion.
He chuckled, a crooked grin she couldn't see on his lips. "I'm serious. But also, thank you for bringing my mate back to me. I'd be a mess without him."
Prism had never heard him sound so sincere, least of all while speaking to her. She knew he'd probably hate her forever and possibly even kill her if she failed or let Bucky die...but that wasn't why she did it.
"I couldn't leave him. We may not always get along but...we're teammates. I'd do the same for you." She replied softly.
Now it was the alpha's turn to be rendered speechless for a moment. "I know you would."

She couldn't help but scoff, making him glare down at her for a moment- mildly embarrassed he'd been caught.
Neither of them brought it up again. Instead, he began to rub her back and made an effort to exude more alpha pheromones to help her.
Soon, she fell asleep, her cheek on his collar bone.
