Things that made the battle scene in The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe still the best battle scene I’ve ever seen:

Epic scenery

The MUSIC

The moment the music stopped and you just hear bodies colliding and shouts and the clatter of weapons. So chilling

How Peter’s battle strategies clearly reflect his experiences and values; he uses the griffin’s to essentially bomb the witch’s army and keeps Edmund safe out of range on the cliff. He uses the air space over the enemy as an important battle field which is often forgotten in fantasy battles (but was such a big deal in blitzed London)

The variety of of creatures in each army. The film uses this as a moment to world build on who lives in Narnia and establish what they value by who’s side they’re on

It emphasises how each unique creature is built different and how that effects the battle. A good example is how the tiny guy with the sword takes down the rhino (it’s a split second scene where the rhino looks like he trips but he was actually attacked)

There a unicorn, like, come on

Again, the silence that comes when the music stops just before the two armies collide. Exquisite

It’s not an overly gory battle, and it’s not made to look super grey or gritty, but it doesn’t glorify it either. It’s made to look epic but also terrible - there’s broad daylight and colour in each shot but the music adds weight to the deaths that happen

Just a huge amount of fantasy creatures that don’t look like robots. Those fauns look genuinely nervous

The way Peter consults the other leaders like the griffin and Oreius. He respects them

Peter’s glance over his shoulder to Edmund for reassurance

The way Edmund gives him a nod. SO cool.

It demonstrates how they’re both kings and although Peter is leading the army Edmund is also playing a vital role in the battle

WIP THURSDAY

Finished the bases

Got the grass on and painted the edges black

Gonna call these guys done, with the exception of the Deathcopter. Deathcopter could definitely use a little more work. I mean they all could but I'm a little burnt out on these dwarfs and I think they're at least tabletop ready. So I'm Calling them done and calling it quits.

This guy on the other hand. I'm calling him done too. But im much happier with how he turned out so I feel better about it. Boris Bagger is ready to take on The Old World.

Now I just need to aquire, build, and paint the 5 other Gyrocopters for him to lead into battle... as well as an entire Empire of Man army to ally Him and his Gyrocopters to.

I love the art of oldhammer so I made my own big ASS fantasy battles. The battle of Cowboydottir fields. I couldnt decide which type of ork/Orc to go with so I went with all kind of differant types that have teamed up against the humans! I also accidently made the right side lower so I put some random madeup lore thing above it to just make up some space!

Does Dragon Age have guns?

I have never seen a gun if the art i have seen.

It should have guns. I mean for fucks sake, The Sigmar Empire/Warhammer Fantasy Battles had guns plenty, and Dragon Age is just bioware's attempt at making a "marketable" Warhammer

was rewatching fabian’s baron moment on account of it being the most delicious piece of pvp in my recent memory and ally beardsley’s growth as a player just shone through so brightly and with such clarity. after dusting off their shock they immediately asked about the nemesis ward, had enough knowledge about fellow pcs stocked to remember adaine’s ac with such like frustrated confidence and certainty, suggested to siobhan to dimension door out of adaine’s room, like. they came into this making a character with 4 dex. and now the dice deity offered to roll a check to sense if adaine was in danger. making decisions, asking questions, getting invested in the story, trying so hard with the tools they have to save characters from danger; ally beardsley is an incredible d&d player.

WIP WEDNESDAY

Progress on Anker Brüggards/Jörgan Brüggardson (and Boris Bagger)

I redid the flesh tones on Boris, as well as his Eyes. I repainted his natural eye and touched up the leadbelcher on his eyepatch goggle. I think I'm ready to call him done. I just need to do his square base.

I painted the jumpsuit, gloves, and eyes Evil Sunz Scarlett and slapped Hashut Copper on some details. Painted the collar White Scar.

I painted the porthole black in preparation of my most ambitious project yet; painting a tiny picture of swirling beer.

What I'm going for:

As for the name, Anker Brüggards is the one that Establishes the Aleniheim Brewery during the time of The Old World, Jörgan Brüggardson is his Heir that runs the Brewery and coaches the Team during the current era of BLOOD BOWL.

During the time of The Old World Boris Bagger is a young and accomplished Mercenary Captain hired by Anker Brüggards to be his Chief of Security. During the current era of BLOOD BOWL, Boris is the Old Grizzled CEO and Commander in Cheif of the renowned Grogstout Arsenal.
