ALSO the fact that tim drake canonically watches bruce get stabbed, spies on the titans tower, knows all of the titans schedules, spies on dick’s apartment with kori, breaks into dick’s old apartment, follows him to the circus, has kept newspaper clippings of batman and robin since he was able to read, knows what art bruce wayne collects, had dreams about being saved by batman and robin and y’all REDUCE his stalker tendencies to just he followed them and took pictures….. no. no, we need him crazier.

My exact thoughts! I love the look of a lot of things in the film, and I honestly pity whoever had to make votdt into a film. It doesn’t read like a film!

But still... it’s not great....

The voyage of dawn seemed to not be my kind of book (apologies the chapter about them meeting the first lord was quite dull to me in contrast to the popular opinion of people loving the adventure of it all) (although I will say that Lewis writing about human trafficking in a book for children is WILD 😭) but then Eutace's character arc came and. I'm shook. The dragons??? The character growth???? The biblical/ Christian themes making such a strong appearance???? Delightful. Amazing. 10/10. This book is getting a great rating just because of that.

The thing I love about this book (and that’s kind of Wild) is that, compared to the other books, the stakes are so low! It’s literally Lucy and Edmund babysitting Caspian while he goes and Finds Himself.

This is a gap year trip on a boat with their weird cousin.

There’s no Big Bad, no end battle, no one who needs saving for long, just them exploring islands and having fun with their friends.

(This interpretation does not apply to Eustace, the guy was Going Through it!)
