It is Crunch time.

Classes end on Monday, and I have my first final on Wednesday. I'm not feeling terrible about them, but I definitely need to start reviewing.

I'm feeling really in touch with nature since traveling up to UVM to see the total eclipse, so that's been helping me stay grounded for sure. I watched the eclipse with two of my roommates from last year's REU! I miss them so much already :,)

Goals for this week:

Turn in missing assignments

Study for my exams

Survive my calc 3 final on Wednesday!!

The fact that I only have one more week of classes before this semester is over is a horrifying thought. It's also a great reminder of how in the late spring I have to start hunting down a PhD position...which is even more horrifying. Master Degrees are ridiculously short.

Tomorrow night I'll be teaching my last class of the semester (and 2023!), and I will have this lovely chili to celebrate. It has been an excellent year, but it's time for me to shift gears for a few weeks. Hopefully that will include making more food that's more complex than a salad or ploughman's lunch.

I promise that I am working on the country au guys I’m just genuinely getting thundercunted through the end of the semester by my teachers. I deadass have a whole British literature PowerPoint to present tommorrow about Geoffrey Chaucer, a root canal on Friday, family plans over the weekend, and then a whole Spanish oral final with these intense questions and a 1 year thorough budget project due on Monday. The budget project includes me having to plan for taxes, car payments, rent, like no money spared it all has to go somewhere. But yk after that I’m home free for a winter break with my man and my family, and I’ll dig into writing. Besos guys 🩷

As of this weekend, I'm officially finished with the fall semester!!

It really felt never-ending to be honest. I ended up withdrawing from calc 1 because it was going to screw up my GPA completely if I attempted to pass,, so I'm just going to retake it in the spring semester. I have confidence that I'll ace it this time! I didn't do well this semester not because I didn't get it, but because I stretched myself soooo thin not realizing how much I was doing until it was way too late. My bad.. 😅

Anyways this is the first time I've had actual free time in probably a full year, so I'm spending some time to relax and get ready for the holidays now.

I struggled a lot with the end of this semester, but I worked hard and got good grades in the end! I'm proud of the work I put it, and I know I'll do even better come January. 🕺

I treated myself to a hot chocolate in a snowman mug while I was finishing up my last bits of work last night too ☕️

The Spring 23 semester has officially come to a close, and now that I have no homework I'm literally sitting at my desk like

T minus 19 days until the start of my heliophysics REU at UAH, I need to get myself some clothes asap lol

I recently received the title of my project and learned that I'll be working on simulating active regions of the sun which I think is SUPER cool. I can't wait to get started!! I'm thinking I'll definitely be more active on the daily while I'm in Alabama for that. I want to keep a decent blog of that both for sharing and for myself to keep record of this incredible experience.

I like how I’m so pathetic that I am in my 20’s living bi-curiously through a fictional Japanese character taken place in the 1400s and like to see myself in her to not feel alone in the “struggle”( finishing college and finding a stable career) as I am not even good at anything I’m studying in, gained weight, prioritize doomscrolling, and had many many embarrassing moments.
