i’m feeling really pants tonight so i wanted to try and spread some cheer in the form of a larry fic rec! these are just a few of the ones i’ve read recently, after going through a fic drought in may and june while i was writing!

(i hope all links and tags are correct!)

+ i believe him when he tells of loving me | bitterlee

this was absolutely beautiful, and you don’t need little old me to tell you that, this fic is getting rave reviews over my dash and even though it hurts (chapters 11 and 12 in particular) this one is definitely worth a read. the descriptive language and the imagery is beautiful, and the pace is perfect. it will make your heart hurt, but in a good way because the ending (at least at that moment in the characters’ lives) is picture perfect.

+ the world will open its arms | lululawrence

mpreg, but slightly different. this one is mpreg within an ABO universe, and I just love the imagery that this fic presents. i generally like my 1D fic to be set in the uk, but when it’s clear from the outset that it’s an american au i don’t mind it, and the vibe of this fic – late night, diner in a small town – just had me hooked. very nice fluffy little fic, with a nice open (happy) ending that you can do with what your please! a lovely read!

+ in circles of you and me | theweightofmywords

for some reason i downloaded this and then abandoned it because i misread the tags and clearly didn’t read the summary properly, so thought it was a canon fic (i’m not the biggest fan of those). fast forward to this year and i found it again deep in my dropbox. i let myself read on further than the first few paragraphs and I was very quickly hooked. the angst of FWB and dealing with hormones/emotions/feelings absolutely FUELS me in fics, and this was superb. definitely check it out!

+ you came along and moved me, honey | flowercrownclem

this one was different! a very light, fluffy read with a lot of funny moments, and a really unique conclusion. read it, you won’t regret it!

+ driving on the wrong side, thinking of you | dinosaursmate

my old faithful strikes again! sixth form au’s are my absolute favourite i think, and despite never having read a louis/marcel fic before, i loved this! geek!harry is one thing but marcel is a whole other! loved this a lot, louis’ character was such a sweetheart.

+ i left my heart in melbourne | emmylouwho

i’ve never read a fic where they’re australian i don’t think! this was a really unique concept and a lovely little read! i just wish it was longer, i was so surprised to reach the end so soon, a sign of a good fic!

+ among friends | secretswekeepxx

this was completely lovely, you root for the characters to get their arses in gear and realise what’s in front of their eyes! and totally cute side!nialee. PS - liam will break your heart.

+ fight with me fight for me | ladylondonderry

girl direction! this is set around guy fawkes night which is one of my personal favourite days and something i think makes a lovely setting for a fic because of the imagery and the romance of fireworks, and this does not disappoint! go give it a go if it’s your cuppa tea - even if it isn’t!

+ down in atlantis | polka_stripes

this one felt all moody and atmospheric and a little bit thrilling, but it’s not too dark. i couldn't wait to see what was coming next. the writing style is really interesting too! (warning for implied/referenced self harm)

i really want my fic recs to focus on lesser known fics, but I do want to honourably mention these huge fics that are amazing too: falling for me won't be a mistake and oh, we're in love, aren't we? by rearviewdreamer, where you lay by hampalpert, the massive the second hand unwinds by fullonlarrie, and the queer eye au you came into my life by disgruntledkittenface!

Merry Christmas people!! It’s this time of the year again! Following my previous masterpost, I’ve decided to make an updated one!

He stumbles a little when he reaches out to place the bottle back on the counter. And when did he become such a lightweight? He gently strokes along the bottom part of his banana costume that's sticking out between his legs and lowers his voice as best as he can. "I am very excited to see you. Banana's got a thing for men who are also spiders."

Hiii i was just wondering if have any fic recs on ao3 where harry is pining desperately over louis ? Those are the best ones and i can't find any atm

oh goodness yes! i LOVE pining! okay i’m still feeling sensitive and tired, so i’m not going to explain why i love each of these fics like i usually do, but just know i love them all so i hope one of them is a fic you haven’t read that you will come to love. 2019 1D Short Fic Fest Round Up

Down Memory Lane by flicker_album Harry and Louis have known each other since they were five. Now they’re in their senior year of high school and still best friends. Harry, as sentimental as ever, keeps anything Louis gives him in a box under his bed. He doesn’t anticipate Louis finding the box.

A Way So Familiar by yeah_alright Liam squeezes Zayn’s hand and presses a light kiss to his fingers. He freezes when Zayn stirs, worried he’s woken him. He’s not ready to wake him. He’s enjoying being held as he wades through the memories of that first night he’d held Zayn. Held him so properly and thoroughly that he had fallen asleep still holding him tightly. That night of pizza and beer and unadulterated flirting, when their playfulness had taken on a greater significance. It had felt revelatory. Like it was all finally – fucking finally – happening. Liam wakes up in Zayn’s arms and reminisces about some of their “firsts.”
