now, harry has everything he could possibly want: he's rich, famous, and adored by everyone he meets, including his boyfriend. but when said boyfriend proposes to him, he's forced to face the uncomfortable facts of his past - and louis, who's spent the last five years returning every set of divorce papers harry sent him.

Louis stares at the wall, his heart jackrabbiting in his chest as he realizes that there’s not just one painting of him, there’s five, the portraits lined up like they’re some sort of storyboard depicting the rise and fall of his deepest love. His greatest heartache. A pain that cut him so deep that he left the fucking country, severing all ties with his life in New York, now suddenly surrounding him as if he’d never left.

Louis returns to New York City five years after he left it – and the love of his life – behind. He didn't intend to see Harry again, but fate has a funny way of pulling them together, whether they like it or not. After making a begrudging truce, they both start to wonder: Would it be so bad if history repeated itself?

Or, Harry and Louis are separated, but for the sake of their two sons, they choose to spend Christmas together. It may just lead to a Christmas miracle.

Liam and Zayn have been together since college and are ready to take the next step in their relationship, except Zayn might be having doubts. And Niall is happy with no strings attached dating until a new employee at the bar they frequent walks into his life and makes him question his entire existence.

Louis and Harry start an on-and-off relationship, but Zayn and Niall break off all ties. When Louis gets into a fight with Harry, he enlists Zayn's help to make things right with him, thereby putting Zayn in Niall's path again, and giving all of them a chance to work things out and start anew.

haven't done a last line in a while, i think? anyway this is from my wip where louis and harry married young and divorced only slightly less young, and now life has sort of brought them together, and louis is clearly annoyed about it. also this is a long af sentence :D

It's a quarter past five o'clock, peak end of day travel. All the nine to fives are itching to get home. Harry and Zayn have been riding the subway for a few minutes. The chaos that is Manhattan rush hour has begun. It's an unspoken way of life for New Yorkers, don't draw attention and mind your business. 

Harry's trying and failing to not suffocate to death from the designer denim he decided to wear straight out of the store. They didn't feel this stiff in the fitting room.

After much deliberation, they agreed on a few different washes. Zayn managed to pull a rabbit out of his hat and convinced Harry to buy a white pair of jeans. Zayn took a photo of him in them and sent it to everyone in the group chat.

Of course their close friend Nicky, who's also a fellow drag queen from Lucky Cheng's, chimed in first and asked where Harry's dick had disappeared to. Harry proceeded to shove the phone down his pants for a quick shot as hard evidence. 

Now, filled with deep regret, Harry shifts and struggles in the orange and beige plastic seat. 

He attempts to be as subtle as possible while grabbing his crotch. "Shit. They're so fucking tight," he whispers.

"That's what he sa—" Harry pinches Zayn's nipple. He doesn't even flinch. 

Harry releases a meditative exhale. "I feel like I can't breathe and my balls will never forgive me."

Zayn shakes his head. "They're brand new designer jeans. Of course it's cramped in there. Why is this an issue? Your jeans normally look painted on."

"Don't mock my pain."

"I told you to wear your old ones out of the store. Designer needs time to meld to your body."

"They're not new shoes. I don't need to break them in." He stretches his legs out to admire his new boots.

"Says the one who owns two pairs of jeans."

He grips onto Zayn's bicep. "Thank you Zayneth, overlord of retail. Do you finally receive your horns with another sacrifice to the fashion gods?"

"You'll be thanking me when someone with a modicum of good taste notices how hot you look in overpriced jeans. Just lay one on me now, you know I'm right." Zayn nudges his sharp cheek in his face.

Harry rolls his eyes. "I don't care if anyone notices," he mumbles through a smile and kisses Zayn's cheek.

The suit beside them clears his throat. Harry glances over as the bloke squirms in his seat, discomfort evident from their harmless embrace. The Wall Street Journal's clasped tightly in his fingers. He flips a page obnoxiously to drive the point home.

Zayn, never one to bite his tongue, snips, "Something wrong, sweetheart?" He angles his head toward the man's face.

"Zayn..."

"No H, I'd like to know what the fuss is." He edges closer. "Oh cupcake, did your Viagra stock plummet?" He clicks his tongue against his teeth in mock sympathy. Harry needs to get them off this train before The Brooklyn is fully unleashed.

"Not now. Look, our transfers next. Get up." 

He grabs Zayn’s hand to spring him into action. The familiar monotone voice announces the next stop over the crackled speaker.

Harry collects the copious amount of shopping bags and nudges his tempestuous friend, urging him to move. Wills him to. Zayn stands up to leave and, of course, blows a kiss to the suit.

Louis never thought he'd be on a blind date, let alone a blind date with an acrobat of all people. He’s not proud to admit that the first thought that crossed his mind as soon as he heard of Harry’s profession was how bendy that would make him, but whatever. The guy’s forty minutes late, Louis doesn’t feel guilty anymore.

He’s munching on a bread stick and considering what would be more humiliating - leaving now or ordering dinner for himself while surrounded by couples - when someone crashes into the chair across from him.

“Sorry, sorry, I’m so sorry,” the man is saying, absolutely drenched and dripping all over the table and the floor. His hair is hanging heavy over his face and his lips look nearly blue.

“Um,” Louis says, mouth full. “Are you okay?”

“I- Yeah, just, I’m sorry I’m late, you wouldn’t believe-”

“Are you Harry?” Louis asks.

“Yeah, and you’re Louis. I’ve seen your picture.” Harry smiles then, pushing his wet hair back so that Louis can see his eyes. There’s a little pause, as if Harry’s waiting for something. Louis swallows his mouthful of bread. 

“Well, I haven’t seen your picture.” His curiosity about Harry’s bendiness had been enough. He doesn’t look that bendy, actually. He looks cold and embarrassed. He has pretty eyes, though. And Louis is hungry. He passes his cloth napkin over. “But I’ll trust you."

Louis was confused. Half the issue he had with Harry was that he couldn’t stop watching him.

Louis had to admit, there was some element of relief knowing at least now he didn’t have to hide the fact he was watching Harry. Usually he had to dart his eyes away and act casual, like he’d been paying attention to Calvin’s story the entire time, but not tonight. Not right now, anyway.

The confusion remained, though, because Harry wasn’t really doing anything. Sure, he was talking with some of their mutual friends that were the reason both of them were at the party tonight in the first place, but he wasn’t doing anything particularly noteworthy.

“Mate, you’re staring,” Liam said with a chuckle as he bumped shoulders with Louis. “He’s gonna figure it out no problem now.”

Louis rolled his eyes. “I’m not trying to be subtle right now, Li. He practically demanded I keep my eye on him, so who am I to say no?”

Liam looked surprised. “He did?”

Louis could practically feel Harry’s breath against his neck, causing goosebumps to rise across his skin as if it had just happened. He’d leaned in so close, lips brushing the shell of Louis’ ear from behind as he whispered those words. Louis had been confused who was in his personal space until he’d smelled Harry’s aftershave and, shortly after, his command.

Watch me. 

Nodding, Louis took another sip of his lukewarm Stella. “He did.”

“Well, he’s not up to much, is he?”

Louis snorted since Liam had just given voice to his thoughts. “Yeah, not so much.”

Then, Harry glanced over his shoulder, as if he was making sure Louis was following his direction. With a small smirk, he turned around, nodded at Grimmy, then walked over to the open kitchen.

Watch me.

Louis could barely breathe when he realized what exactly Harry had planned. Once again watching Louis intently, Harry picked up a banana, and proceeded to peel it.

“Fuck,” Louis whispered, gripping his beer tightly while the rest of the party was forgotten. Harry was obscene when it came to eating food in general. He always went tongue first. Louis could only imagine how he ate a banana.

Then again, he wouldn’t have to very shortly.

“You best go collect your boy,” Liam said, voice gone squeaky. “He’s about to cause a scene if he actually continues to deep throat that.”

“He’s not my boy?” Louis said breathlessly, so weak that it sounded like a question even to him.

“I think he’d like you to change that.”

Louis was going to do more than just watch him, and based on the way his eyes darkened with intent as Louis walked towards him, Harry didn’t mind a single bit.
