Apparently I do recs now: Borrowed Time (Dronarry)

I've never wrote a fic recommendation before but the more I read the more I feel that screaming in the comments and leaving kudos is not enough. So, here's my first rec and it couldn't be more fitting the fact that is from @the-starryknight, the first person that welcomed me into this fandom two years ago and made me feel at home. So here we go:

Harry finds himself in quite a dire situation, waking up in the wrong bed and in the arms of his best friend's lover. From there is a wonderful trip and, even when the tag says #PlotWhatPlot, I believe that there is a plot in the way Harry gets from a panic attack to extremely horny to 'I guess I could get used to this'. If you like fun, soft and sexy fanfics, this is your cup of tea.

This fic is part of the @dronarryfest and before it, I didn't know I could like Ron. I'm a Drarry girl, most specifically a Draco girl, but this fest has made me want to jump into Ron's lap and purr like a cat. The established Dron (is it Dron? I'm new here, so I don't know what I'm supposed to be calling RonxDraco, sorry) is something I've realized I enjoy very much and if you read this, you would too. In such a small amount of words, Starry portrays a wholesome, spicy, and tender relationship between those two. The cheeky way in which they drag horny overthinking Harry into their hands is amusing. The way Starry portrays the duality of Draco, soft and caring with Ron, and teasing and bickering with Harry is amazing, giving our beloved slytherin a dimension I always crave in his characterization. Harry is a panicking horny mess and who can blame him for that. And finally, Ron, cheeky bold Ron who's sure about himself and what he wants. I want a Ron, I need a Ron, and the way is written here is spot on. So, folks, go read it and let me know what you think about it. Is a short, well-written piece with amazing witty comments that I assure would leave you with a big smile on your face.

That's a wrap on Dronarry Fest 2024! This was our second year running this fest, and we are so absolutely thrilled to be building this community with you all. Draco slows at the perfect moment, gliding up the gentle slope behind the cottage, and then Ron’s running toward them, whooping, and the bike is safely out from under their feet. Harry gets his arms around Draco’s waist and gives him a sloppy kiss on the cheek, Ron’s arm brushing against him where it’s slung around Draco’s shoulders, and he knows just from how they move that Ron’s kissing his temple.

Silhouettes was my entry for @dronarryfest, and it was this fic which got me writing again after more than six months' frustration and block. I've always wanted to write a sentient house fic, and setting this one in the Burrow gave me the opportunity to try out something new. Well, something else new - this is my first ever triad fic, of course 😏🍆🍆🍆 In this fic you can expect serious topics treated with gentle humour, a Ron who likes to take charge, a nice happy ending for all, and plenty of the random Britishisms that anyone who's read my work before will hopefully have come to expect!

Thank you to my betas, InnerLilith and @tackytigerfic, to @bluebutter-art for her lovely feedback and for that Ron sketch (can we post it now??!!!) and to @getawayfox for helping me with the banner :) and thank you also to my fellow mods @wolfpants, @oknowkiss, @getawayfox and @thebooktopus for making my first experience modding a fest so much fun :)

I've retrospectively gifted this one to @tackytigerfic, in an attempt to break my streak of 'things I write for Tacky faltering at about 2000 words because nothing will ever be good enough'. It does mean that they betaed their own fic, but I know that neither of us would want it any other way. Lovely Tacky, not only did you truly write the definitive Dronarry, but you also send me deranged voicenotes to cheer me up when I've had crappy night shifts, so how lucky am I? So grateful to have you and your wonderful talent and all your advice in my life. <3

Dronarry Fest - 5 fics I loved

Finally done with my @dronarryfest marathon and oh boy, what a ride it was! Lots of brilliant characterization, excellent UST, top gardening aesthetics, possessive sharing galore, mouth watering smut - 20 tasty gems across different tropes and genres! I’m beyond impressed with the fest’s quality, found some instant favorites that will certainly feature in my end of the year wrap up list, and am very excited to share them below with you. I’m very much here for dragontamers orgy shenanigans and sneaky sex at the Burrow, and if you’re a hoe for soft pining Draco and past Drarry + Charlie then run don’t walk towards this one!

Since joining up with the dragontamers, Draco counts his days in nights. Nights spent drinking in the commune mess, making poor choices he doesn't regret, for once. Nights he doesn't remember, and nights he wishes he could stop remembering. Then there's that night in Spain, caught in the circle of Ron's arms. A year of nights in Norway, caught in the heat of Harry's gaze. His first night at the Burrow, caught in between them both.

🪴 Silhouettes by @sweet-s0rr0w (E, 16.7k) - one of my favourite fics of the year with heartbreaking sentient Burrow, established Rarry, exquisite POV multiple narrative, more gardening aesthetics and hands down the hottest UST and threesome sex you’ll see today. This grieving and perceptive Ron is a triumph, everyone else can go home
