What’s the weirdest AU scenario you’ve ever come up with?  Did it turn into a story? It has to be my Christmas carol Wolfstar fic (which was also inspired by Stephen King and The Shining).

Is there a pairing you would like to write, but haven’t tried yet. Oh boy oh boy, my time to shine with this question! I think everyone knows I love a rare pair, and I have a fair few lined up for my Summer of Kink one-shot series that I should be kicking off soon. To Hold You in the Earth's Unholy Din | Chapter Six

“It’s Draco here, remember?” Draco’s heart was beating hard enough that he could feel it in his throat as they picked their way through the eastern edge of the market. This was clearly the street where fabric merchants sold their wares. There were tables piled high with bolts of silk and cotton, hanks of woollen yarn dyed in bright jewel tones, enormous rugs covered with teal and vermillion florals hung along the sides of the buildings.

“I remember. Hard to get out of the habit, Draco.” The crowds were thin here, very few people interested in textiles at this time of night. As they drew closer to the centre of the market, Harry stopped and squeezed Draco’s hand, then ran his fingers up to Draco’s shoulder, holding him there. It was such a casual, intimate gesture, his touch so light, barely grazing Draco’s skin through his clothes. “It’s a bit chaotic from here on out. If we want to get you something to eat. Do you want to walk close to me, so I can hold you? It’s alright if you don’t. You can walk in front of me.”

Draco’s cheeks went hot. It was significant to let an Alpha touch you in public, to let them hold you. It was a willing act of submission, not to an Alpha so much as to the concept of mating, allowing that touch in front of the world. Noble couples didn’t often engage in such practices, but Draco had read about it dozens of times and seen it once or twice when he was out among the manors. Young couples wrapped up in one another, acting out their devotion through the act of touch. His mother always told him it was vulgar.

“I’d like that,” Draco said. Gods, he was probably bright red. This was an act of courting.

T: Any fanfic tropes you can’t stand? Can't stand is probably the wrong phrase, because I truly think anything can be good in the right hands, but I don't tend to read or gravitate towards mpreg, kidfic, genderswap, and Hogwarts-era (outside of eighth-year) fics.

I’ve read so many fics, that aren’t as popular, that are so professionally written that I immediately know the authors even know the characters better than their original creators, respectfully. and so many of those fics made me cry and I’ve always come back to reread them because they’re that good, even if they don’t reach many people. they’re literally in my heart and I even think about them during the day because they’re that special to me.

the bottom line: the number of kudos and hits do not represent whether the work is good or bad.

and if you’re an author, don’t let it discourage you if you think your works don’t get enough hits or kudos.

sometimes the best fics that have ever been written are like a rare treasure, not many people will find them, but I promise you, those who do will cherish them very dearly ♡
