yesss please drabble about the dreamxxdream rinharu airport art 🙌 I love that one so much I have it printed out on my wall

It's been a shit day. Flying always makes him feel a little sick between the motion of the plane and the dehydration of the air pressure, and he fought with his sister over text before boarding, so he didn't get any sleep on the flight. He's come home on a coach-enforced training break after he sprained his Achilles tendon when he slipped getting out of the pool and overextended the joint, and he just got the news the stray cat they always fed had to be put to sleep. If he were a few years younger, he'd be trying not to cry in public. (He still is, but he's succeeding this time. Take that, middle school self.)

What's worse is that Haru is the one who is picking him up today. Not to say that he isn't excited to see him; he's only been in love with the guy since he was in elementary school, but the feelings have always seem to him to be one-sided. That had even been what he fought with his sister about before he left Sydney; refusing to agree with her delusions that his friend and rival was even half as excited to see Rin as Rin was to see Haru.

He knows Haru won't be there with flowers and a sign with his name on it (he would crawl under the furniture with embarrassment if he was, oh my god) and that he'll get a nod and an offer to help carry his bags and a quiet drive back to his house. It's just--

Today is the kind of day he wishes he'd get a little more than that. But it's Haru, bothering to get out of the bathtub and pick him up, so he'll be grateful about it and pretend he's not a yawning wound of a man, waiting desperately for Haru to fill him. Makoto would have been a better choice. Might have even given him a hug.

The world is still unsteady under Rin's feet when he finally makes it through customs, still adjusting the backpack straps on his back, and makes eye contact with Haru just outside the glass doors. He steps forward, a cocky smirk already stretching across his face but--

Haru isn't waiting. He's coming to meet Rin, bright-eyed and just barely stopping himself from running. Rin's expression buckles, the exhaustion and simple human need to be touched yanking him forward despite the pain in his ankle and he only barely remembers to drag his wheeled suitcase behind him as he breaks into a hobbling jog.

Rin is hit with an armful of Haruka Nanase like an emotional sledgehammer, and just that easily his emotional walls crumble. He buries his face into Haru's shoulders, tears welling up behind his eyes, and squeezes Haru back.

"I missed you," Haru says, holding him back just as tight.

"Yeah," Rin chokes.

"I'm sorry about your cat."

"Yeah," he repeats, an eloquent and mature man who is absolutely not crying in the Tokyo airport. He does, however, squeeze Haru a little tighter as he breathes in the familiar scent of honeysuckle detergent, cheap deodorant, and the ever-present tang of chlorine that forms the aromatic memory of Haru in his mind. "Me too." To all of it.

Haru doesn't let him go immediately, letting them stand there and sway gently in the chaos of the airport, lost in each other's embrace. If Rin listens, he can hear Haru's heartbeat, just a little faster than normal, and he wonders if he owes Kou an apology for more than just his tone.

"Welcome home," Haru says, and Rin laughs into his shoulder.

"It's good to be back."

Hope you are doing well and are not overwhelmed by all these asks!

I normally stay away from YT One Piece because from what I could first experience it's full of machismo dudebros or crazy theorists gallore that make me wonder if we even watch the same series, but BLESSED BE the day I clicked on one of your clips!!! I have since devoured them all and I have even developed a habit of rewatching some of them when I want to wind down with my favourite babies! I know it's probably not easy, but I just wanted you to know they are much loved and appreciated!

I also really appreciate you standing your ground when it comes to the OPLA, reading you comments on it made me feel less crazy, I'm behind you 100%. And you are absolutely right, you would be feeling like ripping your hair out if you do make through to end of the season. How long have you been in the fandom for?

Almost 5 years!

Why did you start shipping Ereri? 

It’s been so long, I’m honestly not sure anymore omg. I just remember that I was already sort of drawn to them before I had even watched S1, thanks to the fanart I kept seeing. But that's a dumb reason to start shipping something, lmao. 

Now, to me their appeal is all about understanding each other very well - naturally and without many words needed -, mutual respect and easing each other’s pain. They have some important things in common but there’s also so much they can give to each other through their differences. Eren’s entire nature with his unshakable willpower and his passion are in my eyes something that’d be good for Levi in a partner, something that could give him hope when he needs it and coax him out of his shell. Levi can keep Eren grounded, motivate him and ease his doubts with that awkward Levi-like mix of blunt harshness and honest reassurance (which I think works well for Eren). I’m also very emotional about the way Levi looks after Eren throughout the story and how their whole relationship has evolved despite its rough start. OMG. I rewrote this like a million times so I will stop now!!

Thematically speaking, what kind of content do you most enjoy making?

I’m all about canonverse, with the only exception being reincarnation AUs (which is still a lot like canonverse so it doesn’t feel like a real AU). I like expressing deep emotions with my art and I think most of my ereri works have a certain mix of warmth and melancholy in common.

What is the work you're proudest of and why?

Definitely my ongoing reincarnation AU comic. I’m never fully satisfied with my stuff for too long so my most recent work will usually be my best work in my eyes but this comic is something I’ve been truly pouring a lot of love and effort into. I also never thought I’d be able to commit to a proper comic with more than just a couple of panels but here we are!!

What inspires you to create?

Many different things but I usually feel the most inspired after reading a new manga chapter or after reading a really good fic that gets that specific dynamic I like for ereri just right.

Is there any work you'd like to share that inspires you?

Sparrow by @sugarplum-senpai and Before the Storm by @fluffymusketeer are two of my favorite stories. A Sound Like Breaking Glass and These Weren’t Memories by @mongoose-bite are also classics to me that I can’t rec enough.

What projects are you currently working on?

My comic is always one of my current projects! I know it might seem like I forgot about it because I’m so slow with updates but I think about the story at least once a day, lmao. Everything else isn’t really a project, I usually just draw what I feel like at a whim. 

What are your strengths as a writer/artist?

Conveying emotions and faces/anatomy. I’m always obsessed with getting these things right most of all so they’re my most developed skills ahaha.

What is an area in your work which you're trying to improve on?

Coloring definitely. I rarely even envision how I want my finished piece to look like colorwise when I start drawing and I spend such a long time on the lineart that I’m inevitably frustrated with my limitations whenever I get to that part. Also more interesting and difficult angles and perspective are something I’ve been trying to practice on for the past year or so. 

What advice do you have for other creators?

Create the things you really love with a passion, not what you think others expect of you and it will show in your work! Also: Don’t constantly speak badly about your own creations and be patient with yourself because otherwise you’re making it impossible for yourself to become confident in your skills - look at your improvements and celebrate them!! Basically, just have fun and don't fret too much :)

Do you have any pets?

Yep! I have two lovely kitties named Cookie and Sockington and they mean the world to me.

How do you relax?

Being home and alone is already pretty relaxing in itself, lmao. Hot baths, snuggling my cats and eating home-made food is great too.

Tell us about your dream day

Oh wow ok, here goes, I will go all out with no regards to logic. When I wake up it's already sunny outside and a fancy, healthy breakfast magically appears. No people are there, I eat my breakfast to the sound of purring cats next to me while I stalk the tags people have written for the numerous art posts I have recently made. Afterwards I go out shopping with my bestie (we are magically in Tokyo for this), then for late lunch with Ylva, Danni, Aer, Eis and Vi where we chat about Ereri things and more. It's sunny and warm all day long. When I get home both a new snk episode and a new manga chapter have been released and I scream about those. I spend the evening on my balcony with my mom and my cats where we enjoy the warm summer night. After this, I do not have to leave the house or see another person for an entire week. LOL.

What music are you into?

A lot of different stuff depending on my mood!! But I have a thing for mellow and soft music, indie and singer-songwriter stuff.

What are some of your favorite tv shows?

Except of the few anime I love dearly, I watch shows pretty leisurely. I love How to Get Away with Murder and The Walking Dead, I enjoy Grey's Anatomy, The Vampire Diaries (don't judge me) and quite a bunch of Netflix shows (Stranger Things, Orange Is the New Black etc)

What are some of your favorite films?

I'm a huge Jurassic Park fangirl, AHAH.

Good point! So maybe Eren just forced all their hands? He had an opportunity to work with Zeke but no one else was willing to take that risk, so he (somehow *sideye*) crossed the ocean alone then sent a letter like “I’m already here so, y’know, come help?”

Or they were all in Marley anyway but Eren got impatient and took matters into his own hands?

Setting: One Piece Universe; Zoro x Reader (fem)

Word Count: 1590

Summary: You were the strong person someone like Roronoa Zoro needed in his life. He doesn’t remember one day you showed any sort of weakness. Yet once that little letter arrived, it broke every facade you had built up. And Zoro was the one to witness your vulnerability for the first time.

You have been together for quite some time now. It took the two of you long enough to commit to a romantic relationship. Being friends and crewmates was something different than actually committing to this emotionally. Especially for the swordsman. The feelings he had for you built up over time, he noticed them right away. He was very self aware and self critical. He struggled with accepting those feelings at the beginning. They distracted him from training and combat. However he knew, he couldn’t run away from them. Not with you being around all the time. 

He never regretted his decision. You were part of him now and helped him grow. Just having you around and seeing you made him more determined to reach his goal. Not only to be the best swordsman, but also to be strong for you. You certainly did not need it, though. You were quite tough yourself, physically and mentally. This was known in the crew. So known your crewmates called you second Zoro when you first joined, due to your similarities. The way you spoke and acted, was well thought through and filled with determination. People would listen to you when you raised your voice. Your words were rarely meaningless. One of the things which made Zoro love you so much.

A powerful woman, perfect for a powerful man. 

For some you seemed quite stoic for a woman though. Robin once pointed that characteristic out, and it fitted well. You were mostly reserved and calm. Your focus was always on what mattered in the moment. Whatever was not in your power you did not care, or invest too much energy into it. This was of high value for Zoro. He shared the same mindset after all.

What you two also shared was not showing vulnerability. Zoro can not recall a moment were you displayed any weakness. May it be in battle or privately on the Sunny. He didn’t think too much about it. You knew he was there to support you in need, he wouldn’t push you to show him your weak side. Still, in the back of his marimo head, he was worried.

The day the news paper came, a little letter arrived as well. It was addressed to you, and in surprise you took it. You didn’t open it for weeks, and Zoro had noticed that your behavior was somewhat off, since you received that letter. You seemed more lost in thoughts and less focused. As if you weren’t in peace with yourself.

“Hey, everything okay?”

He’d ask you more than usual. The worry in his voice was clear, even the others started to notice it. Your answer was always the same. A gentle smile and a nod. You had it under control, your emotions. It was fine. You were fine.

When you had some alone time, you fetched the letter out. You had kept it in your pocket. Sitting in the crows nest against the window, your fingers brushed over the name. It was the name of one of your family member. It stung deep in your heart when you let the name sink in. With a heavy sigh you opened it. Your fingers shivered while you did so. It took you a lot of courage. You weren’t sure what was inside of this letter, its scared you. Taking a deep breath you tried to calm yourself down for a second, before reading it.

Nervously your eyes wandered over the words. With every sentence your pupils widened in surprise. You didn’t expect this. Not at all. What you expected was anger and disgust for being a pirat and leaving them alone. You expected insults and words of dishonor. But not, this...

...“I saw your poster in the papers, you changed! It suits you!”... ...“I’m happy you found yourself some people to travel with. Are they treating you nice?”...“I hope you’re safe out there. Maybe we can see each other again. I miss you so much.”... ...“I love you dearly, I’m so proud of you. Please write back soon!”...

“Fucking hell…”

You mumbled to yourself as you felt tears running down your cheek. You didn’t notice how you held your breath while you read the letter. It was so heartwarming. Every word was pure emotion, pure love and care for you. It broke your heart. You missed them, you truly did. You haven’t heard of them for so long, you almost forgot they existed. Sobbing quietly you rubbed your eyes, but tears kept coming. Those were tears of sorrow and joy. You heart felt so warm from the feeling of being loved by family, by someone you had for a lifetime before you set on sail. Then there was this cold feeling, an icy sting in your chest. You forgot about them, you neglected them. Even now, you read the letter weeks after it arrived. 

You hands buried into your hair, while you leaned your back against the window of the crows nest. Your shoulders shook from the sobs you tried to hold back. You normally clear mind was a mess. Different emotions rushed through you, emotions you had ignored and didn’t have under control.

Being lost in your state you didn’t notice your green haired lover climbing up to your location. His gut feeling told him that there was something off. He knew you were up there, and the aura he felt made him worry. Pushing the opening up, he entered. Zoro was about to call your name out, but held in. He saw you. Hunched over and shivering from your sobs. His eyes widened in shock. He’d never seen you like this. The worry he felt got stronger as he closed the opening behind him and made his way to you.

“Y/N...hey…” He approached you slowly. His voice was quiet and gentle, as if he was scared he’d frighten you with it. He was about to ask what the issue was, but his eyes were quick at noticing the letter in you lap. You finally read it after weeks it arrived. Zoro sat next to you and placed a hand on your back. 

You didn’t even think when you wrapped your arms around him and clinched on his torso. You needed this so badly, you didn’t even realize. He welcomed you into a tight hug and stroke through your hair. Seeing you in this state broke his heart into pieces. He’d never seen you like this before and he surely didn’t judge you. When he committed to you emotionally, he promised you to be there for you whenever you needed him. And he did as promised.

Zoro didn’t say a word, he let you cry it out on his shoulder. He kept you in his grip gently and let you calm down. It took you a while but Zoro was a patient man. He gave you all the time you needed. When he heard that your sobs slowly stopped and got replaced by sniffs, he pulled back to look at you. 

Your eyes were puffy and red. He faced sorrow in them, an emotion he never saw in your beautiful eyes before. Your whole posture seemed defeated, like a child, you sat in front of him. Weak and vulnerable. 

“I...got a letter from a family member.” Your voice was a whisper when you explained him the issue, and handed him the piece of paper. Zoro was a bit hesitant to take it. It was private after all, but you gave him a reassuring nod. You wanted him to read it, speaking out what was going on inside you, would make you choke on sobs once again. The swordsman took his time to read the message. You watched him carefully while he did so. 

His eyes rushed over the hand written words, combined with slow blinks. His normally cool expression changed into a soft one. The corners of his lips curled into a gentle smile. “They seem to love you a lot.”

You laughed quietly and nodded, wiping away a few tears from that sentence. He was right. They did love you, more than you thought. Zoro gave you the letter back. He tried to think of the right words to tell you. He knew you well, very well. He was aware that your crying this much can’t be just because of that letter. The letter is what made the barrel flood. The barrel of your pent up emotions. 

“Listen, Y/N….” He gentle grabbed your chin and lifted it. He wanted your full attention, even with those sad eyes you gave him. “Don’t...bottle this up. I know there is more inside of you.” You knew he was right, which made tears appear in your vision again. You bit your lip and nodded. “Even warriors cry. And you certainly are one. Vulnerability is what makes you strong.” 

He released his grip on your chin and embraced you once more. His words were truthful, you knew it. Everything he said, was. Zoros opinion of you was important, you wanted to be the strong person next to his side. Hearing that he did not judge you on your weakness made you ease up a bit. He felt it. They way you snuggled up to his chest and searched for affection was proof enough.

The rest of the night you two spent with being tangled up in a loving hug. He held you in his arms like the precious person you were to him. He loved you, your strength as much as your vulnerability. It was what made you, you. And he loved your dearly.
