go ahead! rant to me all about it! ill share my own thoughts, hopefully it can motivate you and maybe inspire you :D

(i wrote the first part of my daemon au, you can find it here)

techno's daemon is an owl. uses any pronouns. she's a horned owl to me but she's kind of a mix, she has deadly talons and powerful wings but also sharp eyes and hearing. she always thinks before she acts, takes pauses before responding and doesn't shy away from expressing herself. her name is athena, though it wasn't the name she's always used. before athena settled, she changed forms almost all the time and went by ares, which was the name that felt right. i was inspired by greek mythology, since ares is the god of war and bloodshed, which in my au is techno before he meets phil. he goes to war, he fights, he sheds blood, but without any real meaning. after he meets phil and ares settles, the name athena feels more right. athena is the goddess of knowledge and strategy, and it felt fitting since after meeting phil he's become more calculating and thinking about his battles. he doesn't engage in warfare if he doesn't need to, he prepares for all his wars and he fights with strategy, with a plan. he no longer heads into battle to shed blood, he heads into battle to protect.

When the Butcher Army comes for Technoblade, they take his things. Whether or not they know it, this is about the worst thing you can do to a piglin. It's not great, chat, it's not great. A daemon AU of Hog Hunt, from Techno's perspective, except that piglins are like panserbjorne - they forge their souls from the earth and carry it with them.

YOOOOOO Daemon AU Techno "The Blade" Blade-centric story has dropped. Techno doesn't have a daemon himself, though - piglins have a different arrangement than humans, and this leads to problems.

This one got weird and I had a lot of fun writing it.

asdfg skitty I’m SO sorry I took so long to answer. wasn’t sure what fandom you’d prefer, so i tried my best. happy reading! (If you like any of them, please hit me up because I love to cry about fics)

I also recommend reading the tags cause some of these get angsty. But! Firstly, we have:

Afterlife, by Aenqa. A fic that muses on Wilbur and Schlatt’s time in the afterlife, before the Trainstation Limbo came up in canon. This one stuck with me, lots of lovely descriptive language - and I’m always a sucker for good dialogue.

soul in all its forms, by subwaywalls. A fic that blends the Dream Smp with a His Dark Materials AU, giving the characters Daemons of their own. Beautifully written, and a great 4+1 fic.

a knight’s lament, by misery bug. I love love LOVE this fic. it’s set in the last life universe, but those who took part in 3rd life have memories of that time. Ren and Lizzie discuss old allies from different lifetimes, and I’m reminded again of how much I love their duo <3

「Dream SMP Daemon AU 」

    ⚔ TECHNOBLADE + ALEKSAIX (BROADSWORD) ⚔

Piglins, as denizens of the Nether, do not have daemons as Overworlders do. Rather, their souls take the form of weapons, called morai-kelul ("forged-self"). Morai-kelul come in all shapes and sizes, from swords, knives, spears, bows, maces, hammers, sickles, clubs, chains, brass knuckles, and many, many more. When a piglin child reaches the equivalent of one year of age, their main adult caretakers, blood-related or not, will bring them into the village forge, and begin construction on the child's morai-kelul in a very sacred series of rituals that take months to complete. The construction always involves at least some amount of gold, a spiritual, coveted metal to piglins. Once the weapon is forged, it is named for an aspirational virtue or concept that their caretakers wish to impart to them, such as "bravery," "insight," "candor," etc.

As the piglin grows and changes over time, however, the first morai-kelul forged by their caretaker(s) will eventually break. This happens to everyone at some point in their lives, and is a very painful event mentally and emotionally. When this happens, the piglin must construct a new morai-kelul with the pieces of the old one, which always takes a form different from the first. A spear might become a dagger, an axe might become a crossbow, a sword might become a shield, etc. Outside of this event, morai-kelul are indestructible by most normal means unless their piglin dies, in which case they become a normal, inanimate object.

Unlike Overworlders and their daemons, there is no limit to how far a piglin can travel away from their morai-kelul, and they can summon them from over great distances. The only exceptions to this are traveling from the Nether to the Overworld, the Overworld to the End or the Nether, or traveling between servers; if a piglin tries to go between servers or dimensions without their morai-kelul, they will instantly become like a zombie, with a living body but no conscious mind.

Piglins have no issue with touching each other's morai-kelul. In fact, it is common for piglins, especially the children, to go up to someone with a really cool-looking one and ask to hold it so they can examine it more closely. However, the morai-kelul must be handed to them in order for them to hold it. For example, if Philza tried to pick up Aleksaix off the table or off the ground, he would not be able to; Technoblade would need to hand it to him in order for him to carry it properly. Mates swap morai-kelul during their wedding ceremonies, and fighting with someone else's morai-kelul is considered the highest show of intimacy and trust a piglin can display.

Morai-kelul do not speak with an audible voice like facets such as daemons do. Rather, they communicate in projected feelings and images. Normally, only its piglin half can communicate directly with it, but if it is being held by someone else, it can communicate with that person as well. They also are always referred to as "it" rather than with gendered pronouns.

Technoblade is wary, blunt and insincere. Aleksaix embodies his idealistic, sensitive, trusting side.

NAME MEANING "Aleksaix" means "responsibility" in the piglin tongue. It is rather uncommon for piglins to freely tell others the name of their morai-kelul without knowing them well first, so Technoblade has taken to saying the name of his is Orphan Obliterator as in inside joke. Very few people are familiar enough with piglin culture to call him on this.

Daemon au - post exile, Tommy’s staying at techno’s house. He can’t immediately run back to SMP lands to talk to Eret and figure out what’s going on. Phil and Techno can tell that SOMETHING is bothering tommy, but he isn’t sure if he should tell them what he knows.

They know something is up but they don’t know what. And Tommy doesn’t know if he should tell them or not. 

On one hand if he tells them then he can go and have it so that they have more reason to help him get rid of Dream. 

On the other hand Dream might go after them next and sever the bonds with their daemon.

phil with a daemon that seems unthreatening, a daemon that people would underestimate and let loose at, but a daemon thats clever and dangerous and makes use of their surroundings and what they have at hand, a daemon that knows when to cut their losses

dream with a daemon thats sneaky but also caring, determined. protective of whats theirs, a daemon that can trick and sneak places and be sly but also a daemon that withstands, that deals and wants to be united

george with a daemon that lays low, prefers to do their own thing and doesnt shy away from being different, but a daemon that craves closure and companionship nonetheless, a daemon that aids him on strange adventures and keeps him warm on a cold night

thinking abt thus always to tyrants au technoblade and his daemon... love that funky piglin hybrid and his wolf of no particular gender

few things abt him

- very strong bond w his daemon! max is incredibly independent and has been settled in the form of a wolf since techno first got comfortable in the empire. they can go pretty far from each other without too much issue, and can exist fairly independently--they don’t particularly rely on each other too much. honestly, its like techno’s hanging out with a wild wolf instead of his daemon

- that being said! they’re very very close, and techno tells max things he hasn’t told anyone else. max always has techno’s back, and techno always has theirs. max was there for all of techno’s most traumatizing moments, and has come away just as scarred as he is. max, however, is not as afraid of dream as techno is

- techno and max are also both pretty vain! vanity is more a techno & wilbur thing, but max is pretty prideful about their appearance as well. techno’s hair is his pride and joy, it’s a very personal part of him, and few people get to help him with it (phil, wilbur, and sometimes tommy). he keeps little braids from all the others in it :,) and sometimes wilbur will leave little braids on max as well. its very cute!

- i will milk the point above of all the angst it can offer. it’s about something you hold sacred being tampered with against your will. its about the desire for control.

- max is just as capable as techno is in battle. they’re both very scary when fighting together. max also hears the voices!

- techno avoids killing daemons, if he can, unless one attacks him first with the intent to kill. he hates doing it, though. there are reasons for this.
