im trying to draw your little guy because they're so cool but i have done 4 arts total and i have no clue how the hair works here , , (not that its bad im just terrible at perception and brain visual)

OKAY HERES AN OVERLY COMPLICATED STEP BY STEP GUIDE TO HOW I DRAW MY HAIR

basically everything is designed to be as easy and quick to draw as possible and it can all be broken down into 3 shapes. every one of them is meant to be drawn in one stroke for simplicity but if you need to take it one line at a time thats okay!

first things first is the big, defining shape. i usually draw it on the viewers right, since thats the way im most comfortable drawing curves, but it can be switched (see: my pfp where i did it the other way). the starting point/root should be at about the middle of the head, if you care much about spacing. i dont but ill try to pay attention to that here. from that you curve up and out, make it as exaggerated as you feel like. this line is supposed to go off the head for silhouette/cartoony reasons. also its fun to draw big exaggerated shapes!! after that, you pull it in for two spikes. if you cant draw the whole shape in one line, try to get these at the very least.

next shape is simple too. youre gonna start roughly where the first shape meets the head on the downward curve. then from there, its straight down, ending in another (much smaller but sharper) curve. two more spikes, and then right back up.

repeat on the other side, starting the other one pretty much wherever you see fit, so long as its pretty close to the other side of the head.

THAT LEAVES YOU WITH THIS BUT WERE NOT DONE YET BECAUSE THERES STILL A PONYTAIL!! luckily its more of the same

you start somewhere behind the start of the curve of the bangs? roughly the midpoint but it doesnt matter too much. here you get to draw a little oval for the start of the ponytail,,,, so little,,,,,,,. then its up a little bit and then down, then going right out again for two more spikes. the culmination of everything youve learned over the last. hold on lemme check my watch. okay its been like 6ish minutes for me but like 30 seconds ideally this shouldnt be too hard to draw.

and then its down to the dead eyed expression and hoodie that hasnt been washed in 1-2 weeks at an given moment, headphones are a give or take. and theres me!! being tired, mostly. oh so tired. and a bit sad. BUT THIS ISNT A CRY FOR HELP ITS AN ART TUTORIAL!!!!!!!!

these features basically stay the same for drawing me from any angle. mostly because im too lazy to think about how it should work in a 3d space. this is cartoon logic not real life logic. hair looks weird from a certain angle? jUST DONT DRAW IT FROM THAT ANGLE!!!! SWITCH THE BANGS AROUND IF YOU MUST!!!!!! THERE ARE NO FUCKING RULES

TYYY FOR THE REF OMG!!! since u offered, can I ask about your thought process on this drawing? I'm literally in love with his armor and hair here

like you absolutely nail the slender frame armor combo it's rlly impressive. he's got armor layers without it making him look too bulky

that’s actually one of my favorites when it comes to armor, it’s rly fun to draw! (warning: I am NOT an anatomy expert)

For one, he’s alr on the thinner side, and being next to c!Sam only emphasizes that as well as makes him angle himself in a much more purposeful way. I think the biggest difference here than usual is that the armor here (on the upper body) completely covers everything, rather than just being a chest plate and shoulder pieces connected.

this erases a lot of hard jutting edges usual armor creates by making pieces that all sort of fit together as though it were a figure of its own, mirroring the actual human figure. each piece perfectly matches the shapes I drew the slender frame from, so that isn’t lost at all. it loses its bulkiness while retaining the image of being very heavily armored. as well, every piece of the armor is lined with an edge to make each one feel more physical, giving the allusion of thickness.

basically, it breaks a few rules to keep the figure, but has enough recognizable features of armor that it goes unnoticed (I hope)

the hair!! I was going for a messy bun shape and it came out rly satisfying (my pfp has a similar one too!) I mostly did it cuz I wanted long hair, but it wouldn’t exactly fit w the vibe and confident pose I was going for

I am logging off of tumblr, for a good bit. I did think about deleting my account, but i have people on here that i care about and who care about me (also i remember when @doritosaftersex deactivated his account and i felt bad). So instead ill come back in maybe a few months or years, or maybe never depends on well lol if i actually kms. Although don't worry i really doubt i have the time or energy for that. I have been in two relationships, second one going on right now, been over six months (and i think this is the last one because i might marry him [ totally will] and i couldn't ask for anyone more better).

i also love doing everything (fk m confusing). i dance, and love to cook, and i draw really well, and i can play the guitar, i learnt the violin nd the piano too a bit, i like debating a lot, and volunteering for things.

Thinking thoughts. I haven't changed the profile pic since I created the blog over a year ago, and the more I look at it the more iconic seems to me (?) Like I don't think I'd be able to change it and get used to it easily lol.

I just love how it looks and fits. When I created this blog and not many people knew about Scarlett as a character (aside from friends) I thought it was perfect as in the right amount of mystery and elegance; light colors for her clothes since the most eye-catching feature is her hair, her eyes are not shown and neither are her ears, which are the two strongest points of her Ghoul nature when it's triggered. Also she's only wearing a calm smile that hides her fangs as well, so it seemed to be perfect. And it was, and it is.

Yes, it's only a picrew, but there are (and I've done) hundreds, and this one happens to be my favorite.

And now everyone who crosses Scarlett knows what she is and it might not give that sense of mystery anymore, but honestly every time I see it (in other blogs, for example) I just feel happy. Whenever people see a redhead character or a crow and tell me that it reminded them of her, I feel some kind of endless joy that I can't describe, and it goes beyond my crack reaction to it.

OC blogs are not as "catchy" as canon blogs and it's only natural, which makes me feel greatly thankful for all the people that just passes by, leaves a like, an ask, follows, whatever, regardless of them staying or not. We're almost 200 already and I'm just so happy. Thank you so much.

I simply started this blog because I wanted to try out an old dream from the past lmao (?). I'd see people creating OC blogs and ships and getting questions and interacting and I was like. I want that. And I actually tried three times before deciding to make this one, but deleted them because I was scared gjdgd.

I don't know, I've been having (and continue to have) hard days and weeks and all and I try not to overwhelm myself trying to create and share things; but then seeing this blog and the things I can do and write and friends I've gained along the way never fails to cheer me up. Reblogging silly memes and interacting through them is such a warm experience. Sharing the route I always wanted to make, people shipping their characters with mine, arguing even, brainstorming, or making her gifts, drawings, hype over things I share... I never expected such a great reception and I can't thank you enough. Despite not being able to share all as often as I'd like, I love that people are still on the other side willing to interact or just know about her or read or anything, really. No one has to, but those that do anyway have a special place in my heart.

Scarlett is such a precious character for me and she's been part of me for the longest time, since I created her on a whim around 7 years ago, with her million changes and everything that came with it until today. The only consistent thing, maybe, was her hair and eye colors and the fact that she's so important in my life. I love her and I love that people love her. I may project some things on her but don't we all-

Thank you!! I'm glad someone asked because I am always in the mood to infodump about my ocs. Fair warning, this may get long as I have a tendency to ramble when I'm passionate about something-

You were correct about their names. Namiko and Tamsin are both what I call "cave elves" which are essentially elves who have adapted over time to life in a dark environment, hence why they look like toothpaste incarnates. I intend to actually flesh out the species more later on as it's a little hard to explain when I don't know myself what the species consists of.

Namiko (she/her) is my main oc (hence the pfp) and I initially created her because my teacher assigned a character design projects for my art foundations class in 2022. This was my first drawing of her, actually:

Namiko doesn't have as much substance as other characters of mine but I do enjoy drawing her often because I imagine she has a very snarky personality and is a bit of a prank-fanatic. She's also the closest I have to a persona since I draw her so frequently, so she shares a couple traits of mine (and is most often featured in the obscure meme art I draw.) Small Namiko art dump:

Tamsin (she/xir) is more fleshed out than Namiko is. I created her on a whim because a friend of mine asked me what Namiko was and I found myself so tongue-tied that I decided to draw another character of her species in an attempt to find an answer. I made her 7 months after Namiko and she started out a little rough, and I removed eye number 7 later on.

Tamsin is basically a mom friend. Very considerate and often worries about her friends, albeit being a little basic (she would definitely frequent Starbucks, just look at her). She's got a lot of siblings so I envision xir to unintentionally baby her friends around or take time to explain things thoroughly like she would to a child. She definitely also advocates for being yourself, I can imagine her being reminiscent of a kind old woman who doesn't quite understand peoples' struggles but supports them nonetheless.

As for Namiko and Tamsin's relationship, I'd say they're probably more of the childhood friend type, kind of like a sisterly relationship. They tolerate one another, but they aren't super enthused to hang out as much since they grew apart as they got older. When they do hang out, most of their interactions include Tamsin being extremely anxious and reluctant because Namiko is about to do something stupid without any thought about the consequences. Tamsin art dump (the photo from this point on may be a little older, as I don't draw Tamsin as much):

You didn't ask, but these fools also have two more friends that make up their friend group, Harlow and Vesper.

Harlow (they/them) is often viewed by others as childish due to their whopping height of 4'9", but they are actually decently mature and well-mannered. They adore reptiles, and have a still-unnamed pet snake who means the world to them (despite the fact that Tamsin, their best friend, is a little hesitant to befriend their pet). I have been working on a little project regarding Harlow and a friend of theirs, but I shan't spoil it for now so here's a tiny Harlow-sized dump:

Vesper (she/they) is probably the least-drawn and also the least fleshed out of the group, even compared to Namiko. Speaking of Namiko, the two are best friends and share a love for getting on peoples' nerves. Vesper doesn't have much of a filter, though. Namiko is the type to TP your house for the funnies, Vesper is the type to place a thumbtack on your seat for the funnies.

Some dynamics and side details about the group are all written out in a discord channel so I'll copy paste them:

Vesper and Tamsin are the type to get in arguments. Not very intense arguments, just Tamsin pulling the "Hey, stop that" card whenever Vesper tries something stupid, which is a lot. Tamsin has a few younger siblings, so she has a bit of the mom-friend personality. She's a very sarcastic type when it comes to Vesper.

Vesper and Harlow are basically that "he asked for no pickles" meme. She sees Harlow as a bit of the baby of the group, which causes them a little frustration, but I feel they'd be pretty open to each other. I could see them ranting to one another.

I always imagined Vesper would have a very honest way of speaking. She'd blurt something out and be brutally honest, which doesn't always work to her favor. Also, she definitely put way too much effort into learning how to solve Rubix cubes. I can imagine her being a speed cuber in her free time, but she keeps it to herself mostly. Tamsin would act like the teacher that makes kids say bye to inanimate objects and it pisses everyone off.

Tamsin tries to make baked goods like a kind grandma but none of xir friends have the heart to tell xir that they taste like dirt. Tamsin is also constantly on the verge of rage and hates taking care of kids but puts on a front because little kids love xir for some reason.

That's all, and I'm so so sorry that this post is a behemoth. I went on a tangent and honestly I don't think I even described the characters well, but I'm super honored that you like my art and here's a little doodle to end this ask!

-I’m a female! Really short I wouldn’t say I’m proud of it but it’s about 146cm and i have a medium build. Super short black hair,people say I’d look like a boy if it wasn’t for my voice and my height . I like to wear oversized stuff and shorts.

Look, it's Ignihyde!

The two of you probably got scared to talk to each other at first :/, but after the two of you started to get closer, you guys started to open up. He would start talking about the kinds of games he likes and his other interests, while you started to warm up to him as well (you dropped your resting bitch face after a few times meeting him, which made him less scared of you haha). But seriously, he doesn't mind if you have social anxiety since he prefers staying with a few close people already. The two of you are similar in that sense, and it gives him comfort knowing that you guys prefer less crowded areas.

Don't worry about seeming chaotic with him when you get close, he's just as chaotic probably. He'll always seem tired outside but when the two of you are hanging out together, he has unlimited energy. This can be seen with how long you guys stay up playing games online or binge watching anime. He understands how you have an online persona, since he's similar in that way. He would never have the courage to facetime anyone, but he's totally fine texting or gaming with total strangers. If anything, it's comforting to know that he's not the only one like this, since it seems like everyone around him prefers to facetime on random occasions. He probably likes to daydream as much as you do too. If you ever draw, he would love to see what you come up with. You can show him a draft or a sketch and he'll be impressed, he might melt if you ever draw him haha.

His first main is Emily because he thought he can heal Kalim with the syringe (But I'm pretty sure you can only heal yourself with the syringe lmao)

He dislikes the absurdly long time he has to wait for Black Jack to start but he genuinely loves the side game

Request theme for May 15 - Jun 7

Hey guys!! I've decided that I need to do something in order for me to stay productive and so, I've decided to make a theme for requests this month. I have two vessel OCs, Flicker * The one I use as my pfp * and Bristle, the sibling who follows them around. It's hard for me to explain for whatever reason, but, requests until Jun 7th will be about those two. Basically, you can request things you would like to see them doing together, because they are never apart. It could be anything, as long as it is appropriate. Some things to help you understand about these two: Flickers ' was to be gender is male' . Bristles ' was to be gender is female '. Bristle is much smaller compared to Flicker but they are also more outgoing and brave compared to Flicker. Flicker is a bit more on the protective side, trying not to loose sight of their young sib, but also caring and would do anything to keep them out of danger. Bristle has a tiny string attached to one of their horns that was placed by Flicker due to an accident that happened while they still lived in the White Palace. Flicker has a tiny lumafly lamp hanging on to their horn. : NOTE : BE SURE TO ASK FOR A PAPER OR DIGITAL DRAWING, as it helps me with motivation to switch back and forth at times. i've tried my best to be as open as i can with y/n's clothing style and appearance, hence why i never mentioned y/n's attire or looks in the series (except for the dress in the grad ball arc). so it's mostly up to everyone's interpretation on what they want y/n to look like!! :)

as for kuni though, i like to imagine he's this low-key fashionable guy but won't ever admit to it lmao. i mean his usual attire is pretty basic, maybe like a button down shirt, a tie and pants but when he doesn't feel like using his duty belt i'd imagine he use these kinds of holsters (i know the 2nd pic is a woman but i couldn't really find any shoulder holster pics that were decent 😭)

and it's totally okay that you're not fem-aligned but still read the series (i hope i don't sound rude here, if i do then i sincerely apologize, idk how to put it into words 😭)

as i said before, i try to not mention a lot about y/n's appearance and all, and even though this is a fem reader fic, all other genders are welcomed to read, i don't mind at all :D

I have yet to come up with a design for the fourth (and frankly I'm thinking of redesigning the first 2, and redrawing the 3rd, I'm not satisfied with my execution- mostly the lineart.) I'm not good at monster drawing/Eldritch stuff, but I am greatly interested. The idea of celestial beings that humans are unable to perceive amazes me so. So I guess that's why I have such a hard time capturing an entity. How is one meant to capture something inexplicable?

I do not have a specific fandom for her. I don't really think of her as part of a fandom per se, she's the... seasonal oc? Idk, sometimes I think of her in 2 separatefandoms at the same time.

My design for her had been stuck in my mind for a while. Her hair curles into near spirals to give her the impression of something otherworldly or ethereal beauty. One side of her hair is longer than the other, a bit of asymmetry there. That's about all the lore I have. (If you notice, she is also my pfp. Actually looking back there are a few features missing...)

What I've Been Up To And Upcoming Projects

So, I know i havnt been posting much art lately. It's mostly been reblogs.

I want to change that, and i have quite a few ideas for what i'm going to be getting up to. Some of the projects have already been set in motion.

But first things first, where have i been? Well for one i moved. It was under very stressful conditions and the reason for my household moving was imperative so there was a strict deadline. That was super stressful and with the unpacking and adjusting to the new house i haven't had a chance to fully recover yet. My mental health has also been pretty janky recently. The move was super bad for me in every way and i was coming off an antidepressant around that time and starting a new one. That also caused some problems. I also wrecked my arms kinda bad doing WAY more physical labor than i should have recently, so drawing for long periods of time has been painful.

Now, onto what i have going on with my art.

Art Commissions in exchange for Sky IAP

For starters, i'm going to be opening my art commissions for in app purchases on Sky children of the light! I will have around 3 slots open i think (all in exchange for days of rainbow iap or candle packs). So expect a post about that soon! A side blog dedicated to my pokemon OCs Orion and Ai

I have already made the blog and started on the ref sheets, typing up the story, working on rough drafts of comics, and organizing all the info in an easy to access way. You can find the blog @ask-orion-and-ai but nothing is posted there as of yet and the pfp is temporary. The story will mainly focus on Orion, Ai, Ingo, and Emmet. It will be driven by the fact that Ingo and Ai have been sent back to Hisui and that Emmet and Orion are looking for them

I have been working hard the last couple days to set up the queue for the first couple months of the blog running so that i can mostly leave it alone.
