OOAK Dr Facillier... well sorta, more of a re-body of that Resin hybrid doll-figure that came out several years ago, while a fantastic figure a few things I disliked about it, 1) it was very tall - larger than the rest of my doll collection, 2) limited articulation and being resin, very fragile- yes the head is still the resisn original, but it's incredibly well sculpted. It's also pretty heavy, so to attach it to the new body (a monster-high doll ) it had to be secured with a wire armature inside and glued and epoxy putty, so the head articulation is the only thing I had to sacrifice.

Another thing was the hands; the original hands were removed and now fitted with larger ones- I just had to use my mini drill to enlarge the holes for the connector pegs on the new hands to fit. The clothes I re-used- just trimmed to size and made the shoes out of milliput by covering the plastic boots shoes of the monster high doll which it came with. The original shoes from the Dr. Facilier doll were now too big and I don't think I could attach them anyway. The staff I made from a sawed-off paintbrush with a hole drilled in the top to insert the ball on top (a plastic berry from a Xmas wreath- as it had a stalk.

Finally, for his display case, I cut out some of his shadow friends from the other side out of black foam and stuck them to it.

Here’s the sketch I had planned to post last week. I kind of went down a rabbit hole listening to Paul Freis’ Disney haunted mansion ghost host voice over. And that led me to Eleanor Audley. Not only was she the voice of Madam Leota, but she gave life to the character Maleficent in the 1959 animated Sleeping Beauty. Audley was also the figure study for the animators. Here’s why I think a lot of people are stepping into their “Villain Era” right now … Cosplaying as the villain, personally, gives me more confidence 🖤 Villains are HOT - there’s a reason people are attracted to the “bad boy” (bad person) aesthetic. The rebel without a cause. The willingness to do whatever it takes to meet your end. It. Is. Sexy. 🤍 Villains are shameless. You have to have a certain confidence to go for what you want without shame. Is that confidence or… recklessness? I think maybe you have to be delusionally confident to behave recklessly??? ❤️ It’s the attitude for me. The audacity. The sheer knowing what they want and then going for it just because they FEEL LIKE IT. Because of the above, I find that when I’m in a villain cosplay, I’m able to bring out these qualities of going FOR IT just because. So maybe your villain era is really just your stepping into your POWER era. I’m not saying it’s good to BE a villain IRL, I’m saying it feels good to PLAY one. So, I've decided to try my hand at creating a Morgana themed expansion inspired by the Villainous game series. I got into it last year, and I absolutely love the varied mechanics at play for each character. - In essence, this is a personal graphic design/illustration project I wanted to do based on a love for the game and The Little Mermaid (the sequel, Return to the Sea, in particular here). - So for now I've done a Morgana piece that shows her off in a visual. This is also the design for the Villain guide, and I ended up using the illustration to also conceptualise an expansion box, using Venom's from the Marvel version as a base. - Still working out the rules and plays for the objective I have as well as what movie scenes I'll be recreating...I even have a 5k document with all my planning on it, so that's fun.
