Instagram is testing new options for its users to verify their age on the platform. This initiative is starting with people in the United States. Instagram partnered with Yoti, a company that specializes in online age verification to ensure users' privacy.

It Tests the age of users in 2 Ways. Option 1: Users can upload a video selfie to verify their age, after which Yoti's technology estimates their age based on facial features. Both Meta and Yoti will delete the image once the age has been verified, Instagram said.

Option 2: People select three mutual followers to confirm the user's age, and the person vouching must be at least 18 years old.

It is the follow-up initiative of Instagram Kids which was paused last year.

About Instagram kids: Instagram Kids was touted as requiring parental permission to join and was supposed to provide ad-free, age-appropriate content, but U.S. lawmakers and advocacy groups urged the company to drop its launch plans, citing safety concerns

Instagram is testing a change that turns video posts into Reels, to simplify video on the app.

They are testing this feature as part of their efforts to simplify and improve the video experience on Instagram

They are telling that if your account is public and you post a video that ends up being turned into a Reel, anyone can discover your Reel and use your original audio to create their own Reel.

Suppose your account is set to private, your Reel will only be visible to your followers. However, you can prevent people from remixing your Reels in your account settings
