Superhero fans for years have been saying that Dick Grayson 'has a thing for redheads' because his two main canon love interests are redhead women and his most popular mlm ship is from one of the worst DC adaptions ever with a guy who also happens to be ginger but Princess Koriand'r is a black woman,Babara Gordon has multiple black adaptions and his other gfs have been Bea Bennett who is black too and Helena Bertinelli specifically when she got rebooted to be black/white mixed and Tim Drake is said to canonically have a type in blondes because he's canon bi now thanks to Bernard Dowd but in his second solo he was dating a black girl named Tam Fox and way back in his first run his first crush Ariana Dzerchenko dyed her hair blonde because she thought that's why he liked Stephanie Brown and Tim straight up made a very strained fake smile while thinking 'I hate it' and the fandom made a whole meme fanart trend of Kon-El Kent being upset and wishing he was blonde so Tim would've chosen him instead since he was previously considered Tim's canon boyfriend by fans.But when black people headcanon Hobie Brown as stritcly black4black or perfers to date black women over anyone else and make jokes about how he'd never date a white person because of how black punkish he is and there's nothing to disprove either since his only love interest is his Prowler variant's Mindy Mcpherson who's a black woman and him and Gwen Stacy were left ambigious in the finale version of Atsv,we're being 'uninclusive' and 'too mean'.Lol.Lmao even.What's y'all's opinion on the Percy Jackson show deciding to let Leah Jeffries keep her natural hair instead of the blonde afro wig they considered which was a good call in a meta sense since book!Annabeth Chase hates being blonde because she wants to be seen as more than her hair color btw

Someone’s got to stop me from saying never gonna happen because I said I’d never read a Danny Phantom DC crossover because I don’t really like multi fandom mixes and I only ever watched 1/3 of an episode Danny Phantom (I’ve got no idea how that episode ends)

So now, I have a predicament, quite the little pickle

because my favorite ship for Jason Todd is now Jazz Fenton!!!! I can literally think of NO ELSE I’d like him to date, settle down, and marry than this cartoon character from a teenage ghost show! No Pre made character is suitable enough. If I made up an OC, she’d probably end up like Jazz with a different name.

BUT

I saw this post about how there should be no ship wars cuz of the multiverse in comics so everything I want is canon and everything you want is canon, we just stay in our respective earths, don’t try to remake each other’s earth in our image. So that’s good news because that means Tim Drake and Stephanie Brown are together forever in my earth!☺️ And Dick Grayson is forever with Bea Bennett!!😁

Idk why I’m posting this honestly. It’s so random and I can only say that this is on my mind because of my Mar’i Grayson fic which even then you’d have to really do some mental gymnastics for that logic leap I made. Not only is B*rbara G*rdon frequently held up as an “acceptable” alternative to love interests of color, that was literally the entire point of her character’s inception. Seriously, look it up. The 60s Batman series invented B*tgirl to be a potential love interest for Bruce after they hired a Black actress to play Catwoman. I’m not saying it’s bad to like B*rbara, it’s literally fine, but understand that the way she’s used by the Bat narrative is off-putting to some people and that’s entirely valid. Also, if they make a B*tgirl and Nightwing movie I’m not watching it. Especially after they cancelled Titans and especially if they hire a white girl to play her after cancelling Leslie’s B*tgirl movie. Sometimes too much is just too much.

Dickbabs: 2/10 I really don’t like it, their dynamic is really toxic as a couple and she is really bad towards him and borderline emotionally abusive and they always downplay him and his abilities to make her look good and completely disregard his other great love interests to make her his only love. Also she blamed him for being non consensually kissed by Tarantula. They are much better when written as friends.

Dick/Wally: 5/10 I love the idea of this ship but the sibling like relationship they had before kinda ruins it for me.

Dick/Bea: 8/10 I loved them together it was the only thing I liked about the Ric Grayson arc and I was so mad when the got rid of her for Babs

Dick/Helena: 4/10 I liked them but I didn’t like a lot of the weird sexualization of him in this comic run and with her

Dick/Shawn: 9/10 his most healthy comics relationship

Dick/Kory: 8/10 I liked them while they lasted but they give me the vibe of the relationship where they both grew up and moved on but still remain friends. She also victim blamed him for being raped by mirage.

Zatanna/Dick: 10/10 this is my otp, while they are only together in Young justice (comics and TV) I felt they were really cute and because of the different way they fought they still each got to shine and one wasn’t downplayed to make the other look better. They were sweet and Flirty and wholesome always there for one another and it was really cute to see how they interacted. Wasted potential 100% plus both characters are performers at heart so they are perfect for each other.

Fuck Ric Grayson arc but I think during/post recovery he and Bea would have a very specific routine for his bad days that’d keep him tethered to where, when, and who he is atm.

For example, If Dick wakes up and he feels woozy or foggy, Bea picks out a different kinda coffee (one they didn’t drink while he was Ric), talks Abt the weather and current events, puts on movies or shows that came out post Ric, etc.

I don't give two shits if Bruce is written like a bad dad if it means we get good writing for everybody else since i think minorities are more important than a white cishet male nepotism baby unlike his butch lesbian counterpart who's judaism is an actual fundamental part of her character and since he's been written as abusive so consistently over the years it's in-character anyway

Dick can be both bi/pan and demisexual and there's more evidence for the latter than the former so making him be sexually loose is aspec erasure and mspec stereotyping and he dosen't have a thing for redheads,he has a thing for black women and to me the only guy he seems to like romantically is Roy and that adds on to his demisexuality since they're childhood best friends

'Catholic guilt Jason' is a shit headcanon that misses the major and critical part of him being Red Hood that he didn't feel the slightest bit bad about killing people and the point of his redemption was learning remorse,afrolatino Jason isn't based on stereotyping but him filling out so many black and latino cultural aspects and if any hcs for him are stereotyping it's the one that he's a slut because he's a very handsome and hot and cute goth punk man

Tim is perfect the way he is and dosen't need power ups or to get 'punished' for the oh so horrible crime of being a realistic teenage boy,he's not JUST huge a loser or a super cool dude but both at once and it's bad writing and fetishistic to ignore his wide range of relathionships that consists of mostly of women to make him a 'guys guy'

Stephanie is heavily autistic and bpd-coded so she's far from a 'normie',much less an 'it girl' but people see blonde hair and blue eyes and throw away everything else about her because that's all she's worth to them or call her an abuser and a pick me just like they do irl bpdtistic women and she's also canonically pastel/indie punk and a Team Mom but gets her presentation switched to basic and made out to be a womanchild instead

Cass had a million times more moral conflict than Jason ever did,would never in her LIFE wanna be feminine even in the chinese way and would be butch in it instead,turning her scattered speech into sign language is ableist not unlike(but not on the same level as)changing Babs' type of wheelchair disability and she'd be a better Batman than any male character in existense

Duke is only a golden child in the sense he has a yellow motif and is as disruptive and authentically quirky as his siblings,We Are Robin is a better team than the canon Outlaws,his powers are cooler than any Al-Ghul ones you could come up with,he has more femme energy than Tim does and Carrie Kelley ain't shit and only gets brought back to replace him because DC is antiblack

Damian's introduction mentality was a result of not only child abuse but also psychological grooming to get him to dehumanize himself and all his bigoted comments are explained either by him being like 12 or his writers trying to demonize brown people and anybody who thinks he's a bad person is a super-sized pissbaby with no sympathy for kids of color,shipping him with Jon is making a bisexual man into a ped0phile and Jay is good even if aging Jon up wasn't and he should be friends with Maya,Suren,Nell,Colin,Kathy,Maps,Tai and Miles,Gwen,Peni,Pavitr,Hobie and Margo from Atsv and Nico and Hazel from Pjo instead of Billy Batson or Danny Fenton or ANY Mcu characters

Talia is super hot but should be drawn in accurate arab clothes instead 'sexy assasian gear'(not that these two can't co-exist but you get what i mean),her personality is extremely rich and her stories are mega interesting,she's a good mom to Damian and literally never 'took advantage of Jason' seeing as That Scene In Lost Days was decanonized by it's writer who said it was ooc for her on his part,she should've been a mom figure to Stephanie in her Robin Days too since they would get along and she deserved her own run where she takes over Lexcorp to transform it into a force for good and become Superfam-adjacent to free herself from having only male connections

When Chuck Dixon launched Nightwing in 1996, it quickly became clear that he had a goal in mind for developing a romance. The previously platonic relationship between Dick Grayson and Barbara Gordon rapidly became a romantic one. After Dixon left Nightwing and Birds of Prey future writers continued to push the relationship.

Unfortunately, the relationship between Dick and Barbara wouldn't just be explored in the present. It was also subject to a variety of retcons, each designed to rewrite the history of the two characters and turn them into some sort of grand love affair. However, the constant retcons, ignorance of the characters' histories, and disrespect paid to other characters make Dick/Babs Nightwing's worst relationship.

Dick Grayson with a movie series

See there is a lot of material for a Dick Grayson movie i currently have 6 movie ideas

What I want is a Series

The First movie called “Robin” can be is origin story, it starts with a narroration in a Batman voice but it cuts out with coughing and Dick Grayson (Nightwing aged) wondering how Bruce does it for more then fifteen minutes the screen shows background from the circus as he gives an intro to his life and culture as a Romani kid in an international circus that barely speaks English then his parents deaths, his time facing Racism and assault in the Juvenile Detention center and running away after the funeral, him discovering Batman’s identity and becoming Robin to stop Zucco and his training with Bruce and the Justice league, it can end with him in his suit and a mini monologue as an Older Dick Grayson narrates the whole thing. (No love interest he’s 8/9)

The Second movie Called “Nightwing” starts with him as Robin being shot by the Joker and fired from Robin a second time with him being kicked out this time, we will see flashbacks of him, Wally, and Donna starting the Titans as he rides to Titans tower to stay with his friends. He will meet up with the team there and the story will follow his transition into Nightwing the main villain can be anyone really and the team will have a major Part in his moving on. This movie can also introduce Jason and Tim. (Dickory mentioned or implied)

The Third can be called “Renegade” following the storyline where either he apprentices with slade to protect the Titans or when he went back to train slades kids, you could do both with his time as an apprentice as flashbacks. (Hinted/past Dickory)

The fourth is a “Batman” movie showcasing the Battle for the cowl and how much being Batman affects Dick and show his relationship with Damian grow more and more, show how much the pressure gets to him and how much it hurts to have to be who he never wanted to, show how much his fight with Tim hurt him, show him try and fix things and explain how he thinks Tim is his equal and not his Robin and have him get a hold on his life and then Bruce comes back, have him and Tim have a heart to heart, have him show Damian he’ll still be there for him establish that Nightwing is who he is. (No Love interest)

The next movie could be titled “Agent 37” and follow his Spyral arc starting with the Crime Syndicate ending with his return home. It would be nice to see him fully embrace his skills as a performer and a fighter. With this storyline it would have a funny but still serious tone that is perfect for the character. (No love interest)

Another movie could be a “Ric Grayson” movie. I also don’t like how this comic arc was done but it can be fixed. Have him start by being shot then show how shitty the batfam treated him and how they pushed him away so he’ll be the same guy, have him fall for Bea Bennett and explain everything to her and have her be the badass she is and not just a love interest, have him be found be Wally and Donna (comic divergence) and have them explain the danger he’s in to the couple and have the two of them protect him and when Bea stands up to the Batfam have Donna and Wally be by her side have it end with him getting all his memories back and actually struggle to take it all in and Bea and Donna and Wally talk him through all of it with flashbacks of some of his memories: Two-Face when he was 12, Joker when he was 17, Mirage, Tarantula, Blockbuster, Batman hitting him after Jason, him dying, Bruce making him fight him without Bruce holding back (and Dick winning) having him actually be affected by his life trauma. (Dick/Bea current Dickbabs implied past)

Is everyone really not going to acknowledge Bea Bennett's role in Dick's restoration of his memories?

Like she was there from the start, helped Ric when he was homeless, took a shot at the Joker despite being a civilian, gave Dick a choice by giving him the memory crystal, acknowledging the fuckery Dick went through, and overall a kind and understanding individual who just wants to help the world in her own way.

And what? Now that Dick is back into the fold, the fam gets to be all possessive and discard Bea just like that? Just because she's a minor character and a civilian too?

Bruh, if DC writers have any common sense left, Bea and her relationship with Ric/Dick shouldn't be set aside.

The Dick I know wouldn't abandon nor forget her (barring amnesia or DC Writers ex Machina). And even if their romance turns to friendship instead, it's still better than nothing.

Besides the fact that it contradicts the essence of being a hero, Dick is someone who especially values his relationships. What they went through together is a life changing experience: three brainwashings and the lowest point in Dick's life, but they never gave up. You don't walk away from that without actually forming a strong bond.

Heck, I'd prefer that after the Joker War ends, Dick takes a break from the fam and gets back with Bea, taking a well-deserved vacation and helping in homeless shelters and stuff along the way.

Sorry for the rant! I'm sleepy and very wound up!

Bea Bennett is precious and I love her.
