Like Manmi @paulahyppolite said "This run was long overdue." In the states we’ve been brainwashed by the media about Haiti, as if there isn’t poverty and insecurity in the US and other countries. While poverty is a design created by colonialism, some have created pathways toward Self Sustainability for themselves and taught others in the process. Give Thanks to @growninhaiti for living in abundance and spreading it! No one that cares for real solutions has spoken to or cares to speak about how @growninhaiti cultivates and continues to produce an over abundance of food not only for his immediate family/friends but for the families in the surrounding communities and machens in town. Everything planted grows on the fertile Haitian soil he tends to and I’m not talking about "indigenous" fruits and vegetables. Building with @growninhaiti over time I learned there is really no such thing as indigenous foods. People that travel from different parts of the world essentially come with the foods they eat and planted them where they are. @growninhaiti always says "If you cultivate the land it will give back to you it’s the cycle of life." This past week has been tough and deeply emotional. 🦋🙇‍♀️🦋 The reality of what is or has happened in my Country of birth 🇿🇼 has been worrying and sad. Fear of the unknown got me to my knees. When you are so far away from your loved ones and communication not clear. The whole experience led into a spiral of anxiety feelings. On Monday 21.01.19 my anxiety got to a high. I could not remember my directions or appointments. My anxiety got worse, it felt like something horribly bad was about to happen. I called a dear friend who sat with me to talk through things. Luckily she is also training to be a Therapist. I kept talking about my feelings of running away, catching a plane, fear of something bad was going to happen. ................................................................................................... ................................................................................................... If you or anyone are suffering from anxiety 🌻 Recognize the deep feelings and remind yourself , it's okay to not be okay. 🌻 Don't go through it alone, talk about it to someone or a Therapist. 🌻 Take care of yourself emotionally and physically 🌻 Think positively, the fear of the unknown activates increased anxiety. 🌻 Remember life will get back to "normal" it might be what you expect it be. ...................................................................................................... ...................................................................................................... I am feeling much better and now looking forward to the weekend. Feeling grateful and my family are all okay for now 🇿🇼 Will take each day with a positive mindset. In life the saying that says. You have to listen to your innerbeing and act on it can be life changing. #videoaboutachicken #diasporadiaries My wish to barbeque in winter and love of chicken.😂 I soon realized after the cold had hit my inner core and all my clothing feeling like they had just been in the wash. I gave in last week to try out a barbeque in British winter. I had the fire set up and numerous paper burning away without making any wiff of fire or coming alight.🤔😂💥 #lovedthesmelloffire #woodburning The next day I made sure all my #spices were already set and I was going to make the chicken flavours I enjoyed @nandosuk living in the countryside and an hour away from the nearest #nandos treats 🙇‍♀️ The oven was the best alternative.
