My relationship with Good Omens.

You might think is oversharing, for me is more like a release.

So since I know myself I have been dealing with depression and it has its moments. Right now is really bad. I saw the first season and was half going through the book but since my depression stops me of doing regular stuff (I can start something and then abandon it. Even affects my art, I can't even color without feel or tired or feel that is ugly and doesn't deserve more than just be a sketch). So I decided to pick GO from where I left and then the second season happened and so far I'm so glad that I did because even if it ended on a sour note, I found something to cling onto and draw even if I can't still finish my art as everyone else, I'm at least glad that there's a release.

So... yeah, I'm glad that Good Omens happened so that I could try to put my thoughts on something else.

Ranni banishes the Outer Gods and also fucks off the Lands, giving agency back to the normal beings of the Lands

Fortissax endlessly fights Death for his friend/lover

Melina burns herself and Erdtree in hopes of a better world in the hands of the Tarnished

Blaidd fights against the very reason he was created out of love for his sister

Ranni and Rykard always keep an eye on their mother, protecting her

Radahn evokes so much love from his troops that they organise a whole festival to give him a honorable death even in his madness

Radahn learns an entire new school of magic in order to still ride his favourite horse

Boc's love for his mother, his mother's love for him

How all but two endings are build on the hope that this new era (whatever it might be) will be good

Miquella attempting to create an whole new world-tree to host the forsaken and the damned

Miquella turning on the faith he was raised and even believed in to an extent, when it was unable to cure his sister's curse

The Cleanrot's loyalty to Malenia and their endurance of the Rot, only to stay in her service

Malenia marching through the entire continent in search of her brother

Finlay traveling all the way back on her own, carrying the incapacitated demigod on her back

Tanith's love for Rya

Dialos' entire questline

Edgar being driven mad after his daughter dies

Vyke embracing, to a point, the Frenzied Flame in order to save his finger maiden

or you know, that's just how I see it

#elden ring #i'm simplifying a lot in this #but that's the story #to me #it follows the pattern of the ds series too #where the world was miserable and depressing #yet the main theme was hope and perseverance #with elden ring we got so many more characters and as such love began playing a bigger part too #and you can't really have interesting characters without their actions being driven by love and hope #or lack thereof #even power-hungry characters are driven by the hope of reaching the power “level” they want #and hateful ones are driven by lack of love #or so i think

I love how the interview with the vampire trailer is sexy and mysterious and then the show is a borderline dark comedy about the retelling of vampire history's most cringe fail marriage between the worst case of catholic guilt and eldest daughter syndrome being romanced by a dumpster fire gremlin that thinks more with his heart and dick than his non-existent brain and the coolest character in the whole story is their murderous daughter

todo aoi is the most stubborn man on earth.

granted, it comes more from a place of idiocy than it does his unwavering determination, but it’s almost inspiring how he refuses to back down in anything he says or does. over-confident and bold. nothing ever feels impossible when it comes to him—and it’s double so when it involves anyone that he cares about.

and whether you both like it or not, he’s grown to care for you.

so you shouldn’t be surprised when, after missing over a week of classes and refusing to communicate with anyone outside of sparse texts between miwa and momo, he’s determined to find out where you’ve been hiding and demand why. he’s got an inkling, of course, but he wants to hear it first-hand from your lips.

and you’ll come to appreciate it, later down the line. because even when you’re at your worst, stuck in bed and refusing to get up to even shower or brush your teeth, he’ll be outside your dorm knocking so damn hard you’ll have to open the door to not wake up your neighboring classmates. doesn’t even blink when you open the door, disgruntled and messy and oozing self-deprecation.

just one look and he knows. stares you down with his arms crossed, announcing brazenly, “get dressed. i’m taking you out right now.”

he doesn’t care if you’re taken aback, or if you’ll refuse, or if you're seconds away from threatening to call utahime-sensei to kick him out of the girls' dormitories. he won't budge. practically tells you he won’t let you continue to rot in your room, waste your days stuck in this abysmal, crushing cycle.

and he'll wait, after you agree. lingers outside the hallway by your door, leaning against the wall with his arms crossed. quiet. even if it feels like an eternity, he'll be out here for as long as it takes for you to get ready.
