This is not a comprehensive list, and there are some authors that I've read their entire backlist but I'm only including one because SPACE.

I've been slacking on my #IndiePride2 posts, but hopefully this makes up for it. Honestly, I can't believe I kept up the consistent posts for as long as I did. Today's prompt is a queer podcast, which I'm no help with because I don't listen to podcasts. I have some saved in my 'to-listen' but I haven't gotten there yet.

Picker could not pull her eyes from the man. He sat hunched over, on a chair that had yet to find a table, still clutching in his hands the small rag of tattered cloth on which something had been written. The alchemist had done all he could to return life to what had been a mostly destroyed, desiccated body, and Baruk's talents had been stretched to their limits - there was no doubt of that.

She knew of him, of course. They all did. They all knew, as well, where he had come from.

He spoke not a word. Had not since the resurrection. No physical flaw kept him from finding his voice, Baruk had insisted.

The Imperial Historian had fallen silent. No-one knew why.

"Sure," Spindle snapped, "a story to break our hearts all over again! What's the value in that?"

A rough, broken voice replied, "There is value."

Everyone fell silent, turned to Duiker.

The Imperial Historian had looked up, was studying them with dark eyes. "Value. Yes. I think, much value. But not yours, soldiers. Not yet. Too soon for you. Too soon."

"Perhaps," Baruk murmured, "perhaps you are right in that. We ask too much-"

"Of them. Yes." The old man looked down once more at the cloth in his hands.

The silence stretched.

So I Guess I'm An Author Now

The last time I made any substantial posts on this account, I wasn't even published yet. Since then, I've put out four books and am midway through publishing my first audiobook.

The Goddess of Nothing At All was what I was working on during my previous Tumblr days. It's a queer dark fantasy about Loki's wife Sigyn and finds ways to make you cry through Norse Mythology. It's a completed duology with a set of short stories on the side. Sigyn and Loki have been super well received, including winning second place in the Book Bloggers' Novel of the Year Award. Now the book is becoming an audiobook, which I've been running a Kickstarter for!

Me trying to be a plotter:

I recently learned about plotting and pantsing, and guess what category I normally fall into. The thing is, I believe I am a bad pantser. Planning my writing is tiresome and sometimes blocks off my creativity, but I feel like I can't rely on myself not making mistakes or creating plotholes anymore. Seeing as I recently decided to turn one of my batshit ideas into a novel, I want to be particularly careful. This is my first shot at true long-format writing, and if I'm not meticulous about working out the content of every last chapter beforehand, I think Imma run this into the ground.

It's not like I've never plotted out anything before, it's just that I normally write down bullet points and then get lost in the flow once I actually start writing. I want this book to be something I can actually be proud of. If that means I've set my expectations too high, so be it. (I'm saying this now lol. Hope I don't regret building this pressure later. Ngl I prolly will but I'm just super pumped rn sooo)

I would like to present to you: Early-Bird Malice: Rex's Infamy! (Or just EBMRI for short.)

(I'm still not sure if I want to keep this cover art lmao. I just wanted something to actually show as a book cover. My friends seem to like it.)

EBMRI is a story following a 14-year-old boy named Ashton Perdido (nicknamed Rex.) Rex is a cunning, successful supervillain who has garnered both magical and city sovereign powers. When he obtains an ancient ring that amplifies his magic, his mind slowly becomes a battlefield— starring his obsession for power vs. the resurfacing memories of who he was before his descent into evil.

I made this blog to document progress and give little fun facts about the story, world and characters!
