A/N: So I wrote this as a non!Idol piece as I thought it would be a lot more fun to write, I really hope that’s okay, if not feel free to give me a message and I can work on fixing it for you 

The car came to a halt and your boyfriend let out a small whimper, all morning you had been overly secretive about something. For the first time, in a long time, he'd managed to get a weekend off from work and you'd decided that it was going to be your chance to do something nice for him. Something no one else in the world could have, well, maybe some people but not many.

"Is the blindfold really necessary?" He quipped with a slight laugh behind his voice, you glanced over at him as you parked up and made sure he had no idea where he was.

Ever since he'd woken up that morning you'd been dropping hints about what the two of you were going to be doing today but he seemed oblivious to them all right now. It started with the music you'd had on while he woke up, a little day6 music to start the day off with, but he'd brushed it off as nothing since you worked for the band and loved their music almost as much as he did. Breakfast that morning had been pancakes in the shapes of the Day6 logo but you weren't exactly skilled in pancake making so they mostly ended up looking like a normal pancake with a tail.

"Yes, this is a surprise. Remember?" You let out a small laugh and got out of the car, Seungmin shook his head from inside of the vehicle. Today was going to be special for Seungmin since you knew how stressed out he'd been lately.

Stressed to the point where he'd missed a few dates with you, something you were mad about when it first happened but when you saw how much work was putting on his plate you began to let them slide. It must not have been easy working in the stock market business, he'd come home and pass out in bed but some nights it wasn't even the bed, it was the sofa. 

 Last week had been the final straw for you. It was the tenth time you'd woken up in the morning to find your boyfriend hadn't even been able to make it to the bedroom before passing out on the sofa sleeping there instead of in a warm bed with you and you were finally doing something about it.

"Why can't you just tell me what we're doing?" Your boyfriend quizzed as you helped him out of the car and began walking him in the direction of the arena doors, the guards nodding and winking at you. Everyone knew the plan and seemed to be sticking to it.

The band you worked for had a gig later tonight so right now they were practising inside of the arena, well, they would be and you knew how badly Seungmin had wanted to go to a concert for years now and you were finally going to make it happen.

"You'll see, you have to trust me." You whined, slowly leading him through the hallways and down toward the main stage as he complained the whole time - jokingly of course. Seungmin trusted you to the moon and back, maybe even more but he did, if you said he was going to enjoy it then he knew he was going to.

"Are you ready?" You whispered from behind him, his back tingling as your breath caught in his ear.

All morning he'd been trying to guess what it was that you could possibly be doing for him, he ruled the beach out since the forecast was supposed to rain all day and he knew he wasn't at his parents since you'd driven too long for that. It was a little surprising that you wanted to do anything today, he knew you had work later and assumed you wanted to relax until then but you'd insisted on taking him out.

"More than ever!" He yelled out, buzzing with excitement as you slowly began to remove the blindfold from his eyes, Drums started to play and instantly he recognised the song and Seungmin's eyes flew to you, this was what you'd been planning?!

"What?!" His voice cracked, going up in pitch as you giggled a little, the music playing louder as the boys began to sing to you both. Seungmin's head spun around so fast to face the boys you were afraid it was going to come off his shoulders.

"Your own private concert." You whispered to him, smiling as you watched your boyfriend's face lighting up the whole time he sang along to the song. The whole place was empty besides you and Seungmin, and a few guards were spotted around the floor cleaning up and making sure everything was prepped for later. 

"It's hard, each day is the same. I wanna fling everything away, and just play. Don't stop me, I'm going out." You both sang along, swaying side to side the whole day, YoungK winking at you as he continued to sing.

"This must have taken a lot of persuading," Seungmin told you as he wrapped his arms around you from behind, swaying with you on the spot his entire body relaxing as he let himself feel the music and for the first time in months he felt at peace.

"Nah, YoungK was pretty happy to do it." You explained, leaning your head into your boyfriend's chest as you watched the members. The truth was, it had taken a lot of convincing and you might have had to give up some of your holiday days to sway it with your boss but all of it was worth it as long as it helped Seungmin unwind. Besides, the members had seemed 100% behind you when you'd explained the reasonings behind the mini concert and they were all excited to meet Seungmin since you hardly ever stopped talking about him.

"I know it's not the best way to relax...but I thought you might enjoy it." You were starting to feel a little doubt about whether or not he might have liked this. It was his first day off in a while, what if he'd wanted to stay inside? 

"Yn, this is perfect." He hushed out, your whole body relaxing as you heard him and you smiled, cuddling into his chest as the next song started to play.

"I love you," He whispered, placing a gentle and soft kiss on your jawline, your whole body heating up at the action earning a chuckle from the boys as they continued to sing.

"I can't believe you did that for me," Seungmin was still buzzing after the mini-setlist the members had performed and you giggled a little at him. Everything that had stressed him seemed to be wiped from his brain tonight,

"I'll do anything for you, you know that Sungie." You ran your hand over his cheek and he wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling you closer to him.

"A surprise like this needs a proper thank you," He told you with a giant grin on his face, you giggled a little excited to see what he had up his sleeve for you.

"Oh? Like what?" You ran your hands over his chest, his eyes on you the whole time as the grin he was plastering across his face slowly turned into a smirk,

"Oh I can't tell you that, it has to be a surprise," He chuckled evilly making you curse him out, gently slapping against his chest in protest.

"Seungmin, you can't." You groaned, shaking your head at him, Seungmin chuckled even more though. He knew how much you hated surprises and he was planning on doing it all week long next week.

"I have a week off next week, I can surprise you all week long."

"A whole week?!" You squealed out, your hands clutching his shirt as he laughed at you, it was cute to see you looking so excited. The week off had been for you, he knew he'd been working so much he was missing important dates and time with you. Something he was going to make up for for the rest of his life. There was no excuse for missing dates.

"I took time off, I've missed too many dates with you and I'm going to make up for it."

"O-Oh, I can't wait." You giggled, as he kissed the top of your head before taking your hand in his and going to meet the members who had told you to go and meet them back stage.

Hi....If you don't mind, can I ask, what are your top 10 (or top 7) favorite media (can be books/ manga/ anime/movies/tv series)? Why do you love them? Sorry if you've answered this question before......Thanks....

If I’m being honest, I have been more into just listening to music during my free time more than anything and while I read a lot of manga, my goldfish brain would blank out if someone were to ask me anything about it. However, I will tell you my list of definite rewatch/reread series though some of them are pretty old or obscure.

My Top 10 (in no particular order)

Welcome to Demon School, Iruma-Kun (manga/anime)

At first, I watched it mainly for the fun aesthetics (cute colourful characters with spooky backgrounds) but I fell in love with the characters and world-building of this series. The whole cast, be it main or supporting, are absolutely amazing and capable of running a story arc of their own even without the main cast which is seriously impressive. And while the anime only just scratched the surface, the author really built the setting of this series with great thought, with its own politics, history, systems, and culture that impacts the story well. No random fact is without purpose and I love it.

The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. (manga/anime)

I’ve been watching anime since I was 4 so I can confidently say that I’m familiar with many classic anime tropes and cliches. This series is like a kudos to longtime anime fans with its jokes and jabs as it follows a strong psychic boy being absolutely done with the insanity of his life as he tries to keep his powers a secret from his schoolmates like a sports anime jock, a shojou girl, delinquent gone good, etc. The comedy coming from this deadpan omnipotent high school student is just an absolute delight. I kin Saiki so much

Nope (movie)

I’m a real fan of horror movies, especially those with undertones that bring a critical element to humanity. While I love all of Jordan Peele’s current works, Nope has got to be one of my favourite movies overall. I’ve heard of some of the criticisms people had with the film (pretty ironic ones too) but I personally love the pacing and suspense of the film. While it’s fun to watch monsters and killers get crazy from the get-go (that’s why Saw movies and slasher films were popular) but Nope touched on that all-too-real fear of not knowing what’s going to happen. That fear where you’re afraid but you’re not sure of what yet.

Petshop of Horrors (manga/anime) and the sequel Neo Petshop of Horrors (manga)

Speaking of horror with critical undertones, I was obsessed with this manga series that came out in the late 90s. I would try so hard to find a way to read this series every chance I could growing up. It’s a sorta episodic style story that stars a mysterious petshop owner that often becomes a suspect in the deaths of people who have bought animals from his shop. I love the philosophy of each new story that touches on humanity and how different (or similar) we are to animals. It questions our societal norms, expectations, base desires, mythology, what it means to live, and what is “acceptable” in our world. Unfortunately, the series was never fully translated and only published fewer copies than typical manga series due to reasons I’m not too sure of (possibly conflicts with ownership and company copyrights at the time, think Baccano situation). The series had an anime but even that anime only had 4 episodes (I still highly recommend it however). I’ve managed to get a few volumes for myself and I know people are selling certain volumes online but I have to save for essentials so collecting them is unfortunately a lower priority now.

Pokémon (video game/manga/anime)

Is this a cop-out? Nah. To this day, I would still have to physically fight myself to not buy plushies and games when I’m already broke af. Pokémon might be one of the first animes I have ever seen (I have seen both sub and dub because my brother found a way) and I would still on occasion go back to rewatch literally any season and any movie of theirs, Nintendo really hit the marketing jackpot with this franchise. The creativity and design are so iconic and memorable that it’s so easy and fun to get into the fantasy of going on an adventure with your favourite Pokémon. There’s of course some nostalgia at play since I loved the moments where my older brother would watch the movies with me and my cousin and I would collect the figurines together.

One Piece (manga/anime)

Is this also a cop-out? Don’t care. I LOVE ONE PIECE! I will sacrifice my time and tears for this series. I have legitimately managed to rewatch this 4 times in my life (granted I started when it only had 400+ episodes so I had an easier time) and I would willingly cry over a flashback, a whale, even a boat over and over again. The action and story-telling of this series just keeps me running back for more even if I keep meeting dumb gatekeepers (yea, people don’t believe me when I tell them I’m a One Piece fan, what are ya gonna do?) I haven’t watch the Netflix live action yet but I probably will once I get my friends to watch with me (I like to fangirl with friends~)

Forget my Husband, I’ll Go Make Money (manhwa)

Despite my blog probably being best known for the villain/ess series, the banner of my blog is not an isekai villainess story but a fantasy series where a woman who can see the past, present, and future tries to make money while being married to a foreign prince before expecting a divorce (because she assumed he rather marry for love than for political reasons). Fun fact, this series was actually one of the foundations when I was writing the villain/ess story for Leona. The art and main couple are just absolutely delightful, I can’t help but reread it as it returns for a new season. Not only is the art just gorgeous, the main couple is just so gosh darn entertaining with their conversations, personal dynamics, and hilarious misunderstandings. Just beautiful.

Hotel Del Luna (K-drama)

Leave it to my interest in horror to love a romance drama with ghosts in it. It’s funny, it’s cute, and some of the ghost’s backstory is heartbreaking as well. This is a great story to just have a nice cry out. I love the story, I love the music, but most importantly, I love IU! She is my queen and every scene she is in, she kills me with her fashion, her haughty character, and her tragic backstory. She and the male lead was such a fun twist of the typical k-drama relationship where she was the powerful but broken character who ended up being healed by the kind, hardworking character. I've watched this 3 times at this point, but I still cry Every. Single. Time. No exceptions.

Hell Girl (anime/manga)

If I haven’t sold you on how I was probably that kid with creepy interests, maybe this will convince you. This was my go-to show back when I was in middle school. There is no excuse, I just really love the psychological horror of this series. In the show, there is a website you can access at midnight where you can ask Ai or Hell Girl to send your most hated person to hell, with the price that you will go there too when you die. While there was a linear storyline in the background, the episodes were always new people who requested Ai’s help with different cases of their own hell on earth. It touches on some really heavy real-life topics but what made it memorable to me was how sometimes I would feel saddened by the choices the people in the show made. Sometimes, they’re in the situation where all they can do is curse someone to hell but then was it really worth losing your chance at a happier afterlife? I watched this show with some of my friends who either saw Ai as a villain for sending people to hell, or a saviour who helped these people find an escape from their torturer, and that honestly made me think about what it means to have that much hate in you. I always wondered if I was ever in that situation, what would I do if given the chance?

Big Hero 6 (movie)

Arguably the first Marvel-Disney movie since Disney bought Marvel, I remembered people having weird thoughts on the usually cartoony company taking over the superhero franchise but I fell in love with everything that was this movie. It had Marvel-style action mixed with classic Disney wholesomeness and gut-wrenching emotional moments. I loved the message and warmth that was in this movie. Having an older brother myself, I couldn’t imagine how I could go on if I lose him but watching Hiro being so well supported by Baymax and his friends cemented within me the importance of helping others and that supporting those in pain can be as powerful as stopping bad guys (sappy, I know but hey I’m now learning to be a preschool teacher so this really stuck with me). Tadashi’s recorded message brings me so much comfort that I didn’t realize I needed. He may have been the closest thing to a Disney crush for me.

kinky!Eddie - getting him the best toys (for him to use in that was a typo but I'm leaving it there lmao Steve later), the finest sheets, the cutest lingerie (again, normally for Steve to wear and for Eddie to enjoy). he makes sure to splurge on the nicest rope and doesn't cheap out in the new headboard.

Chrissy - going grocery and clothes shopping with Chrissy, helping her ignore all the sizes and nutrition values. making sure she gets everything she wants, and never feels ashamed for it. getting her flowers when she goes out of her comfort zone on something.

the kids - taking the kids to the arcade and giving them like 20 bucks each and letting them run wild. getting max the best skateboard/skate gear for her birthday. getting the kids stuff for their campaign's. helping upgrade the schools av club material. giving Erica, max, and El money to go to the mall (had it not been destroyed or linked to evil Russians)

Robin - splurging in robins safe foods so he always had some in him or at his house. buying her whatever fidgets and expensive but insanely comfortable clothes. buys her new books/instruments/writing materials/etc. (I hc her as very creative. she likes to read and write poetry, write and play music and songs, she loves to read in general). he finacially (Nancy deals with the paperwork and legal aspects) helps her copyright and publish her own books, stories, music, and poetry.

Nancy - she takes her combat/gun skills seriously even after the upside down and he invests in her classes/guns/gym membership. helps her start her own press, and doesn't let her give him a free subscription.

shoulders some of the parents (minus the wheelers, cause they suck) bills here and there when they let him. he normally finds ways to do it indirectly so they don't realize it.

Jonathan - he buys him new cameras here and there, spots him for the good weed when argyles not around. (pretty neutral on stonathan, so that's why he's down here)

♧ one of those people who dress well without putting any effort at all. it's either that or he just looks good in everything, it doesn't really matter as both of those options are totally unfair.

♧ always smells good. this man could spent the last two hours exercising, have sweat pouring from his pores and still smell nice.

♧ has tried to learn the guitar at one point, but volleyball took up too much of his time, and now university's taking it up. still, he's learned a few songs and he has a guitar hanging in his room

♧ doesn't like carrying bags if it's not sport/athletics-related. if he needs to bring other things that aren't his keys, wallet, and cellphone, he'll just stuff it inside his pockets. it absolutely looks bad and bulky - is that a notepad in your pants or are you just happy to see me? - but he literally cannot give a single shit.

♧ he doesn't really have a playlist. all the songs he likes are blended into one playlist and whenever wants to listen to something while studying, he just clicks on one of those 24/7 copyright free lo-fi music on youtube. the one and only playlist he has is the one he listens to when he's in the gym. that's literally it.

♧ ... really missed oikawa when he first went to california. he missed his sarcastic-sounding compliments directed to the people around them, he missed having to fish him from a group of fangirls, he missed his best friend. the person who's been by his side since they were children. iwaizumi was usually the one to initiate the facetimes and texts, hiding it under some lame excuse like wanting to make sure he wasn't dead yet.

♧ during his college days, he attracted so many girls from his university and even other nearby campuses (is anyone surprised?). they'd all invite him to house parties, only for him to politely decline their offer. though he did not pursue volleyball as a professional career, leaving his days as an ace behind, he still had a burning desire to be the best and that isn't going to happen if he spends his days partying and getting drunk.

♧ has his own signature scent that he's had since high school, maybe even middle school. he hasn't changed it because he's too lazy to do so - why would he fix something that's not broken? - and also because he likes how people associate him with a certain scent. he kind of finds it cute.

♧ absolutely not one of those maniacs that lets their phone battery hit single digits -- not if he could help it. he always charges his phone once it hits the thirties and always brings a spare charger with him if he's going somewhere.

♧ he's always ready for anything. and by that i mean he always has ballpens in his pocket, bandaids, a protein bar, anything that he may need through the day, really.

♧ his usual way of unwinding after a hard day's work is really just laying in bed, watching godzilla. obviously, if someone were to run him a bubble bath or something of the likes, he's not going to complain, but sometimes just he just thinks it's too much effort. he'd rather have a short, thorough shower than hear straight to bed.

♧ honestly has a hard time making friends. he's so focused on his studies, cooped up in his stuffy dorm room that he didn't really get the time to do so, then people who did want to befriend him were a tad bit too intimidated by his strong stature to actually come up to him and strike up a conversation. we all know he wouldn't hurt a fly though.

😍 A Restless Truth (The Last Binding #2) (Freya Marske, author; Aysha Kala, narrator) - reread in prep for final book, having book 1 fresh in mind was great, lots of small details I had missed

Like many viewing this post, I’m a writer who aspires to one day share my finished stories with the world. Learning to market creative works, to interact appropriately and comfortably with readers, and build my confidence as a professional are skills I must acquire to achieve my long-term publishing goals. My dilemma? I’ve yet to finish editing my most developed novel’s draft, which means I’ve no books of my own to offer readers.

How soon can I expect to see my video on the tiktok account?

It depends. Certain types of videos are easier to make, simply because they require less research and prep on my part. Keep in mind I’m a disabled writer who is offering my time and labor without asking for anything in return. I’m making these because I enjoy the work. Helpibg other creatives brings me so much joy and making art refills my creative well. That said, my health and happiness will always come first. If you leave your contact information in the designated place within the form I’ll do my best to communicate the progress of your book’s video ad.

What sort of photos do you use?

I will only ever use copyright-free images. Using art ethically and not without the artist’s permission is important to me. If a photo used in one of my videos is copyrighted, please inform me immediately. I will correct my mistake and repost the video with that image replaced by a free-to-use alternative.

How can I express my gratitude to you for the work you’re doing?

Thank you for thinking of me! I’d appreciate it if you followed me on tiktok and tumblr. Sharing the videos I create with your readers and writer-friends or reblogging my posts would be an amazing way to show your support for my efforts.

What sorts of scenes will you NOT make videos for or advertise on your page?

I will not share scenes featuring SA, animal death, gore on page, or child death on page on my account. I might consent to advertise books with such content. I do ask that you not submit a scene with these CWs present, however.

What sorts of books will you NOT advertise?

My offer does not extends to nonfiction pieces, christian fiction, weaterns, detective books, military fiction, books with child/adult romances, and fanfiction.

What advice can you give regarding the sorts of scenes I should consider submitting for your tiktok videos?

According to my research, scenes and dialogue exchanges with tension, angst, big reveals, palpable emotion, and cute ‘fluff’ are most popular. What you send me is ultimately up to you. As long as you mind my CW boundaries, I’ll share whatever scenes or lines you choose.

A “If you like this aesthetic, read this book” video, wherein a series of images related to your book’s atmosphere and plot will appear, accompanied by music.

A video featuring a short dialogue exchange pulled from your book. Relevant images and music will also accompany it.

A video showcasing a cool world-building detail from your book

A video introducing your main character, love interest, or villain. This style of video may or may not include memorable quotes said by the character in question. Images and music are included, as well.

A video wherein I, an afab former theatre kid, read a short passage of your book. I’ll read this passage in character, accompanied by relevant images and music.

Can I request more than one video?

Of course! The more of your book you share with the world, the higher its chances of selling well. I’ll also likely repost the videos I make multiple times in order to maximize exposure to readers. Knowing me, I’ve got ideas for other videos I’d like to make about your story. If you’re curious about those ideas, just ask!

A small sigh leaves your boyfriend's lips as he watches the back of your head, You were sitting at the small desk inside of his room at the dorms with a set of headphones over your head and he bit down on his tongue. This had been something Chan had dreaded from the moment he'd woken up that morning, Maybe dreading was the wrong word to use but he was certainly nervous. Tomorrow he was going to release a song but before it went out into the world he wanted you to be the first person to hear it. Since you had been part of the inspiration behind the entire thing.

What if you didn't like the song? What if it upset you more?

The two of you had just finished patching things up between you and now here he was potentially dragging up all of the bad memories for you from the last few weeks. 

The thing was, the two of you had called it quits on your relationship a few weeks ago, deciding that you needed a break from one another and it had been a pretty explosive fight. The two of you claimed that you were in the right when the truth was, you were right and Chan knew that now. Hence the song was his way of showing you his true feelings.

The night you'd walked out on him he turned to music, something he always did when he knew he needed a form of letting his feelings out,

"Channie," You sniffled turning around in his chair to look at him, his heart racing when he saw your eyes bloodshot and tears running down your cheeks. The song had been beautiful, gosh you hadn't even realised how much you were crying until you felt some of your tears falling onto your lap.

"Baby, don't cry." He begged reaching across and wiping your cheeks free from the tears but they continued to freefall as you got up and cuddled into his chest. Your arms wrapped around him tightly as you squeezed him as close to your body as possible, the song really opened your eyes. When the two of you had gotten into your fight a few weeks ago it was because you accused him of never showing his true feelings with you.

You'd always felt as though he was keeping a part of him hidden away, never being his true self with you or even showing everything he felt and that song changed everything.

"It was beautiful," You told him, sniffling a little as you looked up at him with your chin resting on his chest and his arms wrapped tightly around your waist. This moment right here was perfect and you never wanted it to end.

"I wanted to show you how I felt... I promise to do better from now on," He whispered before you gently cupped his face in your hands and brought him down into a soft kiss, your heart beating rapidly against his chest as you pulled him on top of you on the bed. 

"I need you." You told him as you pulled his sweats down, watching in amusement as he quickly kicked them off and swiftly pulled down your sweats and threw them across the room. Your lips met once again as you wrapped your legs around his waist and pulled him closer. Your heart pounds in your chest as he leans forward a little, lining himself up and looking at you,

"You sure?" He questioned, he didn't want to rush back into anything with you. The two of you had agreed on going back into things slowly and if you weren't sure about this he would walk away and go take a cold shower instead, but he needed you as much as you needed him.

"I've never been so sure about anything in my life," You told him as he pushed into you, one single stroke making your eyes water a little as your legs shook. It had been so long since the last time you were intimate with one another,

Gang, AI writing makes me REALLY uncomfortable. It's already being used to write articles and emails and other mundane things people maybe don't enjoy doing, but ... how long until it makes written communication entirely impersonal?

Also. Same issue as AI imaging, the data set for training the AI surely includes copyrighted materials.

Is it derivative or transformative, then? I think it's all a mess and going to stay a mess, but if I learned my work was in that data set, I think I'd be pretty unhappy about it.

I see it being used for tech writing. Imagine how useless a book of instructions can become if it's AI written and not checked by an actual tech writing expert. And perhaps even dangerous?

We've all heard of AIs that learned to be racist when using social media data to train them. Unintentional biases infiltrate.

AI is going to be used for legal documentation, I'm sure of it. Laws. "AI, write a law banning wooden popsicle sticks. Use XYZ as justification." And there you go. We already know legislators often don't read their own bills thoroughly. Oops, now there's a hit out on pileated woodpeckers in subclause 37b.

WE have some work to do to make this right, and it'll take a while, and 100% our legislators have no idea what this stuff is about, but they're going to have to be the ones to control it.

I've already seen AI writing used in a way in my industry that could take work away from people. People who need work for their skills, developed over a lifetime of experience. Get me UBI and maybe I'll feel more generous about that part.

How long til the first surreal-but-soulless movie is made entirely from AI prompts?

Can we just, you know, use AI to do the stuff that's dangerous and mindless that humans can then be free of, not to undermine ART, there very thing that makes life worth living? It's all going to get more corporate, more emotionally taupe.

It started as a toy, a cute thing to try out. A challenge, "can we make it do this?" The Turing test is going to be passed by a chatbot making Hallmark cards.
