when did you watch bad buddy/join the fandom? I watched Bad Buddy in one week, in late October 2022. I owe it to @airenyah honestly. I think I found their blog through an SPN post and clicked over for that reason. In my scrolling, I happened upon a lovely gifset (wish I could recall who made it) of InkPa. It was the scene where they're outside and Pa says anyone taller than her is fine and hops down off the sidewalk. :) Love that scene. Anyway I reblogged it and in the tags was like WHAT IS THIS I MUST WATCH IT. To which airenyah gave me a whole blessed reply telling me the show name, giving a small synopsis/what to expect from my first thai drama & telling me where I could watch it. I immediately watched the series and adored it. I've seen it twice thus far.

favorite character(s): Okay I adore all the main 4 but I'm gonna go with Pran. I love him. There's just something so soft about him and how on earth do his eyes communicate so much?? I think I relate to his messy little overthinking and silently in love brain—very "me the first time i had a queer crush and simply wallowed the whole time bc it was impossible" lol. Also, he's always making the funniest facial expressions which gets me every time. I could go on about everything I like about his character (for instance how clever yet sometimes oblivious he is & how he gets all annoyed lol). Though I do question his sense of interior design and that smiley face obsession.

favorite episode(s) Honestly I'm not certain if I have one?? It's all so good! I do really like their "whoever falls first loses" era though. Wait actually?? My favorite ep might be the early one where Pat thinks he's hitting on the "girl" across the hall and they end up running into each other on the roof. Also both of the beach episodes.

favorite scene(s) *pastes in the entire show* Okay okay I'll try to pick a few:

~ The scene where Pat is staying over and he and Pran are lying in the dark, counting down to say in unison whether they have a crush on Ink. Idk I remember that scene having an emotional impact on me. Pran's face??? Then when Pat asks "would you like me?" and Pran says "I hate you" and then he yanks the blanket away but you saw him crying?? ahhhghrhghgh

~ The scene in the darkroom with Ink and Pa. I remember getting so emotional. Pretty sure Pa's dialogue and acting made me cry. "I do [like you being nice to me]. I like it so much that I thought I was special to you." ARE YOU KIDDING ME ASDFGZ. And then Ink says she is special to her!! And it's so sweet!!

~ OH and how could I forget. This should be at the top of the list. I realllly like the scene where Pran stands up to his mom and they have that emotional fight in their front hall. That whole thing is just. AHHHHHH. AHHH. AHIOFJEIOsdJIO. SIJDGRIOGJRIGJORE

Okay so BBS was the first Thai drama I watched. I was still feeling a lot from the SPN-finale/confession scene era (yes that happened 2 years prior but it's SPN okay iykyk) which had me especially sad about and aware of media censorship etc. etc.

On top of that I was still working up the courage to leave this group chat of childhood friends, some of whom liked to complain about media "making everything gay" etc. (Amazing how you can not know people are homophobic for the entirety of your childhood bc the topic just never comes up lol.) Which was of course upsetting to me for multiple reasons. However the universe decided to do something nice and Heartstopper was released. That series felt really huge to me, but after it was over, I was left with this feeling of like... what else is there to watch? Where else will I ever find a queer ship this canon where they're also the main characters?

That's when I came across BBS and it gave me this realization that OH WAIT we aren't limited to western media and OH LOOK there's so many great shows that I didn't even know about!! And they keep making them! Also it was a queer story where the main obstacle wasn't being gay (Plus, Asian leads!!). And BBS itself is just such a standout show. First of all, I love a good comedy and the series made me laugh so much. It's heartfelt but full of ANTICS [like yes lets have fun! Lets not take everything too seriously!], and Pat & Pran & Ink & Pa are just such wonderful and lovable and real feeling characters—who have this lovely friendship too—and the show is just! Such a fun ride. <3 I recall watching the series and feeling like my world just got a little bit bigger. Anyway Bad Buddy goes all in for everything it does and it's such a joy.

What are the boys texting styles? (the boys as in all three)

I can imagine Sun texts very proper, grammar n everything. Meanwhile Moon doesn't really care and uses anything that lets him type less... and Eclipse? Mostly emoji's and meme's to the point that sometimes his brothers go "USE YOUR WORDS, WHAT IS IT"

I haven't fleshed these out before so what snippets of texts there are might not be entirely accurate, but I'll stick to these in the future <3

Sun is definitely a boomer in regards to texting, he has auto-capitalization on but doesn't even need it, he just does it all manually, anyway. Takes ages to finish a message because he insists on fixing every typo he makes, and adding correct punctuation. Fortunately his brothers have at least clued him in that in texting that kind of no-nonsense style is easily misinterpreted into "I'm angry with you", so he tries to add a few emojis every now and then. Sometimes signs off his messages with the sun emoji (after learning early on that apparently, you don't sign off every message with your name), but otherwise throws in a few of the classics - :) :/ >:( - and Moon and Eclipse still make fun of him. It still softens his messages somewhat, and he's satisfied with that

Moon is much more relaxed. Switches between having autocaps on and off, and goes entire weeks before getting fed up and changing it back. He likes the chill vibes of all lower caps, and very much prefers not having to care about correct capitalization. Gets annoyed when autocorrect fixes brand names, so that's turned off, too, and whether he fixes typos is dependent on the position of the planets in the sky. A roulette game, even. Thinks it's a special form of humor actually, and definitely gets a kick out of "ourple", "woag", "joak", and the like. Tries to be professional in work contact, but in casual chats he's the one who pipes up with a lower case one word reply that just obliterates everyone, and then quietly snickers to himself. Doesn't use many emojis because he's lazy, but steals a few of Eclipse's reaction images to drop at the funniest times

Eclipse is. Well. He's definitely laying it on thick with reaction memes and showing his reaction with emojis - even if technically the laugh cry isn't really possible for him. It's about the vibe! Cringe is dead and he killed it, so he also goes for the beloved classics like UwU, ^w^, ToT, and abbreviations like brb and lol! It's extra funny when Sun misunderstands and asks "What does UwU stand for? Is it also an abbreviation?" and he can simply send a little emoji equivalent and not get an answer back until Sun copes with yet another little smiley face he has to learn. Finds uses for the most obscure emojis, and sometimes throws them in the middle of a sentence just to annoy his brothers. With anyone else he probably wouldn't do that, unless they think it's funny, but he does mostly text Sun and Moon! Has autocaps on, but typos either get fixed by clicking autocorrect or remain in the text forever, he doesn't usually care to fix them. The outcome is a mess of a text that is mostly intelligible, but the 30% that aren't are anyone's guess

This is so gorgeous because it is such a personal thing to me- the fact they have troyella parallels. It hits me differently. I want all the things to happen too, but I think they can happen separately and not at the same time and still be just as impactful (as you’ll see in a minute)

I definitely would wait until S4 for them to have a kiss, first off. My “big thing” is I hate dialogue between dialogue and a kiss. For example, with Nini and Ricky’s kiss when he proclaims his love to her, the lead up was actually very sweet. But she said “let’s just kiss” and then they kissed and that made me cringe. If it had just been talking and then she kept getting closer to him until they kissed and without saying anything, that’s how she got him to stop talking… now that would have been beautiful. To me this means both characters are on the same page, that they don’t need to specify what they’re doing, but that it just makes sense. I feel this important to note before I tell you how I would see them kiss, because I want to emphasize that Ricky and Gina would be on the same page in every way at this point. They both know the other two options that they believed were the greatest for them (Nini and EJ) weren’t. They both know that they have grown and changed into the best versions of themselves (balanced and embracing change) by this point. Everything would be leading up to this.

So, in my head, in the finale, Gina and Ricky are going to be talking and there is going to be either actual fireworks they didn’t finish lighting off at camp or some that come on the projector screen. Gina sees everyone dancing with someone else after breaking up with EJ and she is so sad. She scans the room and sees Ricky. Fireworks. Then in S4, Ricky and Gina have been in school a few months (I’m thinking October-Novemberish). This would be like an episode or two BEFORE the finale so they don’t get the end of season curse (making it obvious to the audience as well). Gina has been broken up with EJ and Ricky has been there, by her side. He’s let her cry on his shoulder over the break up, talk about everything important to her- even watch musicals together, and continues to show up for her. They are always together and they both know they like each other but it’s just this weird, will they/why aren’t they together (yet) to everyone around them. Ricky (because at this point it actually would be kind of funny) is somehow the lead again. OR he is the understudy for the lead. Either way, Gina is the choreographer and he asks her to teach him how to Waltz for a scene in the play they’re doing. He does it because even though he is getting better at dancing, he’s frustrated he can’t get THIS dance down. So she says, “let’s try a different slow dance. Have you seen HSM3?” And he admits that, yes he has. He’s kind of a fan of musicals now. 😉 So she says, “give it one more chance”. She presses play on her speaker and they do “Can I Have This Dance” (also during this song we hear the lines, “it’s one in a million, the chances of feeling, the way we do”). The song ends. It’s dead silent. They make eye contact for a couple seconds. The Rina cue plays as Ricky says, “glad I gave it a second chance”. Gina says, “me too.” Then they kiss while the rina cue finishes out. After they break they have such smiley and giddy faces and they just giggle for a few seconds and it’s basically the purest thing you’ve ever seen. No one interrupts or anything either. You can just presume by the next time they’re in a scene that they’ve spent the rest of the time together leading up to that next scene.

Rina rain kiss will absolutely happen in S5 in my head… but they will have already shared many other kisses leading up to it 😌

Vilmarh cries, every time. Whether or not the crying is genuine, depends on how attractive he finds the main heroine, how much money is lost with the death, and/or how much he can annoy Quin and Asajj.

-who wears the ugly holiday garb

Quin and Vil - Quin because it’s tradition (and Aayla knitted him a sweater so he might as well be polite), and Vil because he sells ugly holiday garb as a side hustle and customers buy more merchandise from sellers who actually wear their products. The only way Asajj could be caught in that stuff is if Aayla is present and Asajj can sneak under Quin’s sweater to annoy her.

-who pays for the meals

Never Vil, for certain; dude is a master of alligator arms. Quin usually ends up taking the bill so they can at least tip the poor server. Asajj rarely pays in money, but she’s always got one eye on restaurant managers because she hunts abusive bosses for sport.

-who slams the oven door and who plays the trombone

Asajj slams the oven door, Vil plays the trombone. Quin is the one who is not home in this scenario, but he sees the stress fractures in the wall around the oven and mentally apologizes to Tholme for the stress wrinkles he caused in his younger years.

-who brings home stray animals

Asajj. She has a soft streak she will never admit aloud, and she feels a connection with lost and lonely critters. Generally, she ends up putting Vil in a headlock when he brings out his tooka soup recipe.

-who leaves the bathroom door open

Ahaha, none of them do. Quin has raised a child, Asajj requires more personal space after years of solitude, and Vil hides spice bags in the toilet; absolutely none of them are taking the risk of anyone sneaking up on them in the refresher. If anyone’s leaving the door open, it’s a visitor.

-who tells the ‘dad jokes’

Quinlan Vos is an uncontested master of dad humor. Asajj represses the urge to roll her eyes when he does this; she knew he was older than her, but this just makes him sound ancient. Vil is still learning the language, but he loves puns, so once he’s worked out the double meaning he laughs until he cries.

-who wants kids more

Quin again. He’s got a little empty nest syndrome now that Aayla is growing up; he’s more likely to funnel it into encouraging Aayla to give him grand-Padawans than broach the topic with Asajj or Vil (especially Vil).

-who travels more

Vil, because he has a business to run. Asajj comes in second with her contracts. Quin is last, but he’s no slouch; usually he’s following one or both of the other two for extra security.

-who spends more cash

Vil, by a mile - have to spend money to make money, after all.

-who buys the things in informercials

Asajj, when something strikes her fancy. Quin doesn’t usually go for a lot of extra trinkets and Vil is in direct competition with most of the folks making informercials.

-who draws in the dust on their cars

They all do. Quin likes little smiley faces and ’wash me’ notes, Asajj draws knives and responds to the ’wash me’ signs with ’no <3,’ and Vilmarh draws dicks on the car until the other two get fed up and wash it.

-who starts the snowball fights

Vil, by dropping snow into Quin and Asajj’s shirts, and then running like mad in the other direction.

-who throws away the directions to things

Quin crumples up the directions, and Vil catches them in his mouth and eats them. Asajj gloats when whatever they’re building inevitably breaks.

-who puts up holiday decor

Vil does in his storefronts, Asajj tackles the inside of their apartment, and Quin handles the outside lights.

-who is more likely to forget to bathe

…Vilmarh, which is absolutely no surprise. Asajj and Quin have had to barricade him in the refresher once or twice when he was particularly busy.

-who gets more obsessed about things

Asajj, also no surprise. Quin and Vil have both had to carry her from her planning space to bed when she fell asleep in the middle of a plot.

-who sings in the shower more often

Quinlan has an eclectic taste in music and a good memory; the other two occasionally bop along to his shower singing when he sings a favorite of theirs.

Is there anything that you and your friends simply can’t agree on? Religion, I guess. Most of them subscribe to Christianity to some extent while I view it in an entirely different light. I’ve never had a religion-based argument with anyone though as respect is shown for both sides of the coin.

Who was the last person to comment on your Facebook status? What does the comment say? It was my cousin agreeing with my status. Basically what happened was I came across this meme that tried really hard to be funny but ended up coming off as insensitive, so it rubbed me the wrong way and I couldn’t scroll past it without calling it out (which I did in my status). So his comment was him agreeing and calling the meme tasteless, which it completely is.

Is there a song that always makes you cry whenever you hear it? So I have a very weird relationship with BTS’ For Youth. I know it’s dedicated to the fanbase, but given that Proof came out on the day of Kimi’s death I have since always associated For Youth with Kimi. 

I have no problem listening to the song – although for the most part I will skip it because it reminds me too much – but I do get emotional whenever I sing along to it; it’s the first song that’s made me realize the big difference that merely hearing a song versus singing along can make. In particular, I always break the moment Jungkook sings the line, “You’re my best friend for the rest of my life, I wish I could turn back time.”

Spidey Headcanons

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Headcanons! Extending into how I would write him personally, of course.

When Spider-Man is out as Spider-Man, he signs his name as Spider-Man. Always with a hyphen. Don’t forget it. Sometimes with a little smiley face or a spider over the ‘i’. 

Peter loves renaissance festivals. It fuels his happy little nerd brain. He likes looking at crystal dragon figures. The really expensive, cool looking ones. He’d love to start a real collection or buy at least one kinda big one. 

Spider-Man wears at least a scarf and sometimes a hat in the winter. 

During Christmas, Spider-Man has gotten tangled up in Christmas lights while swinging through town. 

On Halloween, Spidey will take pictures will all the kids dressed as him. If there’s too many at a time, he takes a big group photo!

Peter can jam out to any kind of music. Rap, pop, oldies, EDM- if he likes it, he likes it. And he’s good at music trivia too. 

Not uncommon for people to occasionally see Spider-Man riding the subway. 

From what I’ve seen, Peter’s sexuality goes back and forth. Sometimes it sounds like he’s bisexual and it’s considered canon, but in the comics I read, he’s only ever dated women. I say let Peter be whatever we want him to be. Can go anyway!

Now that that’s out of the way, though, if not apart of the community, Peter is a very good LGBTQ ally. Like Nightwing, there’s pictures of him taken by the citizens of New York of him posing with the Pride flag, making appearances at Pride marches, etc.

Often seen with Deadpool. Cause ol’ DP has this lifelong quest of making Spidey his best friend forever, it’s not uncommon for citizens to see them together. Bickering, eating, Peter trying to keep him under control, anything. 

Peter enjoys the movie Clue. The movie based on the board game. I recommend checking it out. Love that movie. 

Plays minecraft unironically in his spare time. Just cause it’s his thing and it’s fun. 

Peter collects LEGO games! You know- LEGO Harry Potter, LEGO Indiana Jones, all those LEGO games we loved from childhood. 

Peter is good at card games since he plays/played them with Aunt May, and will go to homeless shelters or the Veteran Affairs Center to play cards with them. 

When swinging at night, Peter will keep an eye out for anyone on buildings or bridges. He’ll go and talk down anyone he sees. Just in case, he also puts a big web in the jump zone like a net. 

One time, a woman wanted the Spider-Man to kiss her baby because that’s a weird thing people do. The baby was crying and Peter was like, ‘this is weird’, so now there’s a picture where Spider-Man is just giving an awkward thumbs up while this tiny, pink, blurry potato screams. 

Peter Parker takes anti-depressants. He’s also on the search for anti-anxiety attack medication. 

Peter follows meme accounts and thinks those videos where it’s basically just a bunch of memes pushed together with obscene sound effects are funny. I don’t know how to describe them. 

If Spidey catches you with weed, he’s calm about it. Because he’s a teenager, and he knows it’s certainly not as bad as hard drugs. It kind of just sounds like, “Just ditch the weed, man.” But if said person refuses, Peter will use his web and take the drug, peace out, and usually just dunk it off the bridge and into the ocean. 

Peter Parker is a milkshake fan. 

Says ‘Happy Holidays’, instead of ‘Merry Christmas’. Although he does sometimes slip up, he's quick to fix it. 

Peter loves the aquarium. I mean, he’s into the zoo, too. It’s the zoo. But Uncle Ben used to take him to the aquarium, so now he’s an aquarium guy.

Likes cheesecake. Any kind.
