Introducing Season 4
A year and a bit more or so, I had no idea we’d get this far. But here we are, about to break ground on Season 4 of our podcast.
Of all the seasons we’ve done so far, Season 4 is the one that comes closest to having a theme, inasmuch as we’ll be taking several different episodes to explore facets of one enormous topic… solarpunk housing.
For starters, this is because housing is one of solarpunk’s central dreams. What solarpunk hasn’t dreamed of those huge buildings draped in plants and solar panels? Or of cozy cottages and their resplendent gardens? But, honestly, solarpunk’s imaginings of housing ought to go deeper than the aesthetic.
How would we be best living in this housing, for instance? Alone? In nuclear family units? Far more multigenerationally or in intentional families? As parts of co-ops or communally on a far, far larger scale (think: buildings housing 20,000 people in a semi-communal setting)?
And, never mind the aesthetics of solarpunk housing from the singular to the grand, how would solarpunk housing be designed to help meet or otherwise respond to people’s physical, financial, and emotional needs? And by people, we mean everyone, not just the people who can afford to buy or rent housing in the current climate where—especially in urban and suburban North America—housing prices have been escalating ferociously faster than most people’s incomes.
On that note, a deeper dreaming of solarpunk housing would consider the revolution it would be for us to stop treating housing as assets and investments, but really honestly almost really mostly as homes. Can solarpunk imagine enormous communal housing that isn’t horrible and depersonalizing, like the cold, hard dormitories of some earlier science fiction novels, where you’re assigned a room based strictly on what is generically deemed your needs and you have to eat in a cafeteria and you have nothing to call your own aside from a couple of meager possessions.
But that’s not all Season 4 has in store. We’ll be tackling some other topics, too. We’ll be hearing about distributed production as a radically democratic means to shorten supply chains, empower people, and counter some of the ill effects of globalization. We’ll be talking about solarpunk spirituality in all its witchy bioluminescent mushroomness. We’ll hear about designing a game that helps people learn about, explore, and come to terms with climate change. And that’s not even half of what we have in store for you in Season 4.
I think it’s going to be a great season! I’m looking forward to it and I hope you are too.
Season 4 Episode 1 will go public on Monday, Nov 13, but join our Patreon now for early access to Episode 1 of Season 4 on Monday November 6, as well as bonus clips, dispatches, and other exclusive content. Either way, hope to have you there!

the 'art' of 'sharing': social dynamics in communal housing
Sharing is defined as providing access to something valuable to others (Widlok, T. 2017). There is a field in anthropology that has extensively studied the phenomenon of gift-giving, which Marcel Mauss, an anthropologist, developed a theory on gift-giving as the foundation for understanding how societies function and create social bonds. Mauss argued that gift-giving is not entirely voluntary but is regulated by obligation, forming the basis for social order.
To understand how individuals establish a common foundation for sharing and avoid potential tensions, ethnographic research is conducted. This effort aims to elucidate the social factors influencing the value of sharing in society. Since sharing is essential for meeting basic needs—such as food and shelter—and for forming and maintaining social relationships, it can create more complex communities. These communities require social commitment to maintain group dynamics, including making sharing within the group more effective. However, while sharing can bring individuals closer, poorly regulated sharing can strain relationships. Therefore, to reduce potential conflicts, a binding order in the form of rules is necessary. The principle of sharing must be upheld in communal living as it plays a crucial role in maintaining social unity, facilitating cooperation, and protecting against resource variability.
The concept of sharing in the context of communal housing refers to collaborative practices where a group of individuals or families shares facilities and common spaces within a residential building. This approach aims to maximize resource utilization and emphasizes social interaction among its members. In communal living, each member shares access to facilities and common spaces, enabling the community to share resources and public spaces. The communal property is collectively owned and managed by all community members. No communal space should be exclusively owned, as these facilities should be a shared right and responsibility.
The concept of sharing in communal living can also foster more intensive social interactions among community members. These interactions may include cooking together, gardening together, or other activities aimed at strengthening bonds among members. Additionally, sharing costs such as rent, utilities, and property maintenance are significant financial benefits of communal living. This allows community members to share financial burdens and reduce individual living costs.
This concept of sharing can be observed in the communal living practices in Indonesian apartment complexes. These complexes typically have shared facilities such as playgrounds and multipurpose rooms accessible to all residents. These shared facilities provide opportunities for residents to gather, interact, and support each other in maintaining these amenities. Furthermore, the concept of sharing extends to the exchange of goods and services among residents, such as the exchange of unused items or security monitoring services. This enables residents to assist each other in daily life, including enhancing the collective security of the building. Residents of apartment complexes can also organize community activities such as residents' meetings, social events, or environmental cleanliness projects. The concept of sharing here involves collaboration in planning and implementing these activities to improve collective living quality. In essence, the application of the sharing concept in the lives of communities residing in apartment complexes in Indonesia not only enhances social interaction and solidarity but also improves the overall quality of life, creating a more friendly and sustainable environment. This helps establish strong and connected communities in dense urban areas.
Reflecting on housing conditions in Jakarta, where millennials may struggle to afford homes in the city due to high property prices and land limitations, many of them are forced to find solutions like sharing homes with their parents. However, when different generations of a family live in the same house, various social, economic, and emotional issues may arise. One major issue is space limitations. With many family members living in one house, there may be a need to share bedrooms, bathrooms, or common areas. This can lead to conflicts related to privacy and personal space. As studied in the book 'Anthropology and the Economy of Sharing,' the more complex a community, in this case, a family sharing common spaces in one house, the potential for tension and conflict among family members increases. This can arise from differing opinions and lifestyles. Therefore, responsibility division within the household and specific regulations are needed to maintain the dynamics of living there.
It's essential to understand that the regulations in communal living can be designed to help prevent potential conflicts and create a harmonious environment. Establishing clear and accessible agreements or household rules among residents is crucial. These agreements should cover aspects such as the use of shared facilities, cleanliness, smoking policies, pet ownership, and shared responsibilities. Encouraging open communication among residents is also important, including addressing issues as soon as they arise rather than letting them escalate into more significant problems. Additionally, by encouraging shared interactions through positive activities among residents, social bonds can be strengthened, and conflicts can be reduced by allowing people to get to know each other better. Periodic assessments or evaluations of group dynamics can be carried out so that potential conflicts can be identified early, and preventive measures can be taken to improve relationships among residents. While conflicts cannot be entirely avoided, with proper regulations and effective communication, conflicts can be minimized, and damage to relationships among residents can be avoided. (by NI)

What should you learn from your Sun's house? [1-12]
Sun in the 1st house: You have to learn how to work in a team. Individualism and independence are wonderful, but do not forget that you are a part of society and interaction with people is inevitable. You need to learn how to listen and hear those around you. Don't resist working in pairs or in a team, it's okay to ask someone for help.
Sun in the 2nd house: You need to learn not to get hung up on finances, to switch attention from the material aspect of life to the lively emotional aspect. Be generous, share resources (but in moderation). Look deep down, not at the surface.
Sun in the 3rd house: The lesson here is that you do not carry information through yourself lightly, but seriously comprehend it and accept it. You should learn to slow down, slow down your mental processes and be more in the moment. When you are in your head a lot and thoughts are constantly spinning thoughtlessly in your head, you need to learn how to stop it and be in the moment.
Sun in the 4th house: People in this position may have a strong attachment to the family, so strong that it can stop their own development. Maybe it's not just a tie to the family, but specifically to comfort and safety. You need to learn not to be afraid to leave your comfort zone, not to get attached to your family so much that you forget about your own growth. Trust the world, the comfort zone may be wider than it is now, the main thing is to go beyond it and get used to a wider range of new things.
Sun in the 5th house: You need to learn how to express your creativity to other people, inspire them and motivate them. Appreciate not only yourself, but also those around you, whether they are friends or like-minded people. Be generous with the people around you and don't judge people for their personalities.
Sun in the 6th house: It may be important for the Sun in the 6th house to let go of control, to understand that people, just like you, are not perfect and this is normal. You need to learn to relax, not to take responsibility for something that is not your problem. Be more patient with other people, do not condemn their flaws and inconsistency with your standards. It's okay to make mistakes.
Sun in the 7th house: As the owner of this placement too, I realized an important thing for myself. You and I need to learn not to lose ourselves in relationships with other people. Attachment is not bad, but you should not focus on your partner / friend and put them at the center of your life. Learn to be alone, do not be afraid of loneliness, but accept it. Enjoy the time spent alone with yourself when you can take care of yourself or just relax. Find your favorite business, hobby and put yourself and your interests at the center of your life.
Sun in the 8th house: You need to take life changes easier. Rethink the situations in your head less, instead accept and let them go. Don't get hung up on getting revenge on someone, just let them go. Letting go and accepting is the way to harmony within. With them comes ease in life. Forgive other people and yourself.
Sun in the 9th house: In this house, the lesson will be tied to being in the state of a "student", not a "teacher". You should accept that you may not know everything in the world and your opinion may also be wrong and that's okay. Learn to listen more, accept more, absorb more. Do not teach people, do not think that you know how it will be better for another person. This is not your responsibility. People have different opinions, worldviews, and your truth may not be the truth for others. Don't impose your point of view.
Sun in the 10th house: Your lesson is not to give yourself completely to work, but to devote time to family, friends, and your hobbies. Learn to relax, remember about regular quality rest. Remember that you don't have to meet someone's expectations and exhaust yourself in order to be valued and loved. Patience and perseverance, of course, surmount every difficulty, but have you tried a long and high-quality sleep? Sun in the 11th house: It is necessary for you to learn to be flexible in communicating with people, to be able to share your feelings, and not to close yourself off from them. Accept that it is possible that you will not always do what you want and will not always be as individual as you would like. We live in a society, we are all connected and similar to each other.
Sun in the 12th house: Dear 12-housers, I understand that it can be hard for you to be down to earth, but you need to do it. Do not drown in your mind, get out of your stagnation and ascetism. Take a look at the world, communicate more with people, trust people. Don't miss the chance to have more joyful moments and experiences! Look beyond the usual, look wider.

♈︎ 𝔄𝔯𝔦𝔢𝔰 𝔦𝔫 𝔱𝔥𝔢 𝔥𝔬𝔲𝔰𝔢𝔰 ♈︎
Tumblr media
✶ Aries in 1st: Being ruled by the planet Mars, these natives give a bold and invigorating first impression. What you see is what you get with Aries in the first- they have a raw and honest personality- which can be off putting for some people because it can be taken as rude depending on the person/situation- but I have to say you must admire them for being so tenacious and authentic in nature. I can hands down say the best quality about Aries in the first is what you see is what you get! They have a strong ego here, are not ashamed of their behaviors, body or personality - regardless of what others say to or about them. ✶ Aries in 2nd: Bold spenders, can be quick to have, give away and lose money. Fleeting self worth and values- can feel and act confident one hour and then shy and shameful the next. Values honesty, integrity and sense of self- this may be because they don’t have the greatest sense of self. Believes that kids and the younger generations have the most value in the world. Having children of their own could be of the greatest importance- OR (and this is a big or) they could never want kids and value connecting to their inner child and independence greatly. It’s one or the other. Can feel at war with their finances and self worth.
✶ Aries in 3rd: Athletic and popular in middle school/high school. Known for their leadership skills and qualities amongst their peers, classmates, cousins and siblings. Can be the youngest of their siblings or babied by others. Intellectually motivated, driven and competitive. Impulsive and passionate in their speech. May say things for shock value or improv their actual knowledge. Finds stimulation in an intellectual debate and arguing. It’s hard to win an argument with these people because they speak so quickly- their arguing style is just backing people into a corner mentally, they don’t give up easily. However, they can regret things that they say when they are angry or upset.
✶ Aries in 4th: Huge indicator of raising yourself as a kid. Family required you to be very active, you could be the most successful in your family as an adult because of this. Family is a point of weakness for you, mainly because they possess a lot of “childish” qualities. You may feel like your parents/guardians were big babies and never grew up. You could put a lot of energy towards your family, but could have a shorter fuse with them over all people. You may be the youngest out of your entire family. Your family could be competitive with you our vise versa. Your family could be the start of your “Villan Arc” 💀- your family may have childish values, argue a lot or they may be a “board game family”. TW - Worst case scenario- violence in the home.
✶ Aries in 5th: Play fights when flirting, aggressive flirters, acts like they hate their crush. I have this placement lmaooo and I LOVE to play fight with my man- like btch?! You wanna go!?!?!? It’s so much fun to me and usually leads to s*xies ayyye. But that’s definitely a me thing, I love to talk smack to my significant other- that’s how it’s always been. Being competitive, NO BORING DATES EVER! Known to have secs on the first date. Passionate- goooood lovers. Either wants to have kids right away or doesn’t want kids at all- this I huge independence thing that keeps them from not wanting to have kids. You can’t be the baby, if you have a baby! Commitment issues.
✶ Aries in 6th: Enjoys active routines and work place. Known to work in establishments with competitive pay and many enemies in work place. Can be scene as bossy by their coworkers. Needs to be weary of being hypocritical of their coworkers. Temper at work. Benefits from a workout routine. Needs to take out stress and anger from work & daily responsibilities. Can be very active or have hyper pets, may need a big back yard to run their dogs or other animals in. Competitive in health and motivated to be the best version’s of themselves. Picky with their diet and what they decide to put in their bodies. Can have an all or nothing attitude- because theirs definitely a reason why they are so picky. Usually this stems from poor self care habits and bad physical health. ✶ Aries in 7th: Passionate and assertive lovers, the fire they feel for their committed partners are unmatched. They may loose interest beyond physical lust- especially if they don’t take they time to figure out whether or not they ACTUALLY like someone. These individuals could truly find good in anyone so it’s important that they don’t project their desire for commitment onto someone else. They can date or be friends with some bold and persistent personalities- even bossy. It’s important that these natives find someone who will give them some wiggle room to find themselves. These people find out who they are through trial and error in their relationships - it’s typical for these natives to have “failed relationships” that lead them to find out what they definitely don’t like- which leads them to their ultimate truth.
✶ Aries in 8th: This gives the native a hyper-vigilant quality to the native with Aries in 8th. In the past the native may have been made to feel like they didn’t belong, maybe they were bullied, or judged for something they couldn’t control. This may lead them to be on edge, secretive and even defensive about who they are authentically. They are very protective about who they actually are because they have been hurt before- many of these people are Virgo Risings, so it’s interesting to see that this may be one of the reasons why they are so hard on themselves and receive a judgmental sort of reputation. ✶ Aries in 9th: I love this placement so much honestly, because a lot of these natives have the philosophy that they can go after anything that they want. They have a particularly strong sense of self and actually may have a hard time understanding why other people don’t go after what they want or believe in themselves and their dreams. This is a super hard working placement IMO - it gives very much that “I want it, I got it!” vibe! It’s very possible at a time in their life that no one believed in these individuals so they just had to prove themselves to the world, and that’s so beautiful.
✶ Aries in 10th: Go getters in their career- they do best when they are their own boss- they definitely don’t do well with being told what to do because of their sensitive nature. However, they have a lot of creativity and art to give to the world. They need a career that is authentic to who they- a simple 9-5 WILL NOT cut it for these people. So if you’re an Aries 10th and you’re still trying to make your boring, loveless day job work- this is why. It is not in your genetic code to be running someone else’s business 😂 you are the business starter- not finisher! Quit diminishing your own light because I know y’all are hard on yourselves regardless. Pick your hard and go after it!
✶ Aries in 11th: Leaders of the pack, these natives love bringing their friends together and being absolutely crazy with their friends. They are naturally socialites and feel their best when they are interacting in their community and collaborating with like minds. These people live for their down time, special niche hobbies and interests. They work hard to play hard. They may also have some pretty strong humanitarian values they stick by, these natives have no problem with telling people their opinion on any given situation and they really don’t care what you have to say about it 😆
✶ Aries in 12th: With Aries in the house of isolation, hidden endings, mental health, dreams and subconscious awareness- this can make a native who suppresses their anger deeply and keeps a lot of their authentic reactions to themselves. They may feel more comfortable expressing this rage internally or when they know nobody else is around. They may be completely out of touch with their anger and impulses. They could have to isolate before taking action towards their authentic desires or dreams. Dreams can be violent and they may have intense nightmares. These natives can work out their best alone- although they usually like to workout with someone, this keeps them from pushing themselves for fear of being ugly or vulnerable. They don’t like to show their struggle to others, complain or their authentic side.

Astrology Observation: No.24 (18+ Only)
No minors! Adults only pls
Just based on my opinions only take what resonates
Tumblr media
-Water moons/mars are the most likely to just say they love you during s*x (they may mean it too !); Can happen to fire moon/mars too but they may not mean it after the moment; Earth Moon/Mars will not be saying anything without planning well in advance (Earth moon AND Mars, you will not catch them slip lmao); I’d assume Air Moon/Mars would be the most likely to tease the other person(s) and say just about anything but I love you
-Venus aspects to Mars/ Taurus/Libra mars/ Venus and/or Mars in 2nd could really enjoy dressing up in lingerie and setting up a s*xy atmosphere in general (and your partner would enjoy this too !)
-1st/2nd /7th/8th house Venus, Scorpio Venus, Venus conjunct Pluto/ sometimes 12th house venus you may get compliments on your genitals from people during s*x (like told you have a pretty p*ssy lol yea fr)
-1st /8th house mars, Aries mars, Scorpio mars/Mars conjunct Pluto/sometimes 12th house mars would also be this for those in their masc energy (instead of pretty someone might admire the aggressive look of your junk instead)
-Imo the easiest sexual partners to discuss boundaries and such with will be partners that have easy (conjunct/trine/Sextile) mars aspects to your Mercury and/or moon
Tumblr media
-I know we’d assume that mars in 8th is the most s*xual but I’d argue that mars in 12th is also super s*xual. Intimacy tends to be heavy on the mind, and there’s a higher chance of mirroring s*xual energy back to others. Especially if the native acts out of their masc/mars energy
-i’d think Aries, Leo, and Scorpio mars would be the most into their partner being SO attracted to them they can’t keep their hands off of them and/or finish too fast (least likely with Scorpio unless you’re just really over stimulating them, most likely with Aries- the most veracious Aries mars go rounds imo)
-I’d argue and assume that air mars/3rd house mars are spacing out the hardest during s*x, and I bet it’s not on purpose (just bouncing between thoughts and coming back to what’s going on)(also if you keep their attention, you’re doing something right)
-Water mars could mean you sleep around for emotional validation (…Imma say it… cancer mars has the strongest chances lol)
Tumblr media
-I think your Venus and mars together can show if you’re more of a sub or dom imo (like if they’re both cardinal you’re probably a dom, if they’re mutable then you may be a switch/sub, and if they’re fixed I’d think you’d be hard set on being a sub or dom — and then results may vary depending on the combination of signs and how much of your feminine or masculine energy you act out of.)
-I think Scorpio Venus/Mars makes someone more dominant in s*x than Aries mars/Venus imo (they’re not here to win, they’re here to posses you- that’s so intense man)
-Understated praise kink placements? Virgo moon/mars. They need to hear praises for how well they did or they’re gonna overthink it. Libra/Taurus mars also would like this. And Venus square/opposition Mars would too in a tell me how much you want me sort of way (it makes them feel really desired)
-Tumblr ruined me bc now every time I look up a dudes birth chart and see Sagittarius mars/Jupiter positively aspecting mars I’m like damn, do they just have bde or actually have a big d*ck and I feel bad for guessing lmao but now it’s so automatic
-Strong Lilith placements (1st/7th/8th/10th) can show guys pressuring you to perform their like shadow side fantasies (which is not cool, because where’s the consent? We always need to discuss things beforehand and map out a plan otherwise it’s skeezy behavior -unless you’re into being surprised but even then lol)
Tumblr media
-Gemini placements (the big 6, but especially mars) make you louder in bed. And more open to trying new things and switching up positions.
-5th house synastry is really s*xy and fun. Some of the best dates and relationships imo. It also allows you to open up and experiment in a way you never have before. Can keep a long term relationship exciting as well depending on the overall synastry. (Be careful bc this is the pregnancy overlay too oml)
-I think north node in 5th can (depending on the sign and aspects ofc) can point to indulging in the senses, partying, breakin hearts and hookin up a bunch— especially if you’re unbalanced/still learning to balance this with your south node energy
Tumblr media
-(in sing songy voice) Scorpio synastry is someone telling you s*x with you makes them f*cking crazy (No they are not kidding ! Lilith synastry is this on steroids but it feels more like you’re lighting this fire in the more masc person - and they’re afraid of burning imo (I’m not singing any more lol)
-I hold to the fact that Lilith in 1st/7th/8th/10th can make someone jump into bed with you way faster than they usually would even if they have like an earth or water mars, if you have Lilith synastry with them this is amplified
-Masc folks/Men with Taurus and/or Cancer in their big 6 (especially mars/venus) are very attracted to women/femmes that are curvy and have an hourglass figure. Aries placements tend to be attracted to athletic figures. Leo placements are likely to jump at figures they find attention grabbing. Libra/Scorpio placement men are more likely to be attracted to figures that they’re socialized to find s*xy. I find that Sagittarius/Pisces is the least likely to have a set type. Aquarius and Gemini are also pretty dependent on personality and conversation skills.

🌡~My take on scorpio placements ~
◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇
☆ scorpio in the 7th house- usually get cheated on by their partners. Go through Toxic/ narcissistic partners at some point in their lives. 3rd party situations. Partners lying and deceiving you.
☆ scorpio mars- usually center of attention (attention grabber not seeker). Females with this placement tend to attract jealously from their so called friends or just other people in general. Men tends to sexualize them alot, Might have spread rumors about them at some point.
Men with this placement, if underdeveloped, tends to be toxic af. The need to control everyone and everything around them is just awful. Fuck around a lot. Sleeping with different different people.
If developed, good achievers. Very strategic mindset. Usually get what they want in life. Bulletproof mindset. Very good at talking to people but still maintaining boundaries. Loyal.
☆scorpio suns- idk why and how, but when people get to know that someone is a scorpio, they get weirdly attracted to them??? Like staring at them, wanting to know them. Intimidated by them.
☆scorpio sun/moons- have a good sense of humour. They can make anyone laugh. And with this, they tend to attract alot of people who wants to be in a relationship with them.
☆ scorpio venus- won't say a loyal lover HOWEVER when they love love, they are loyal 100%. Underdeveloped can lie about being in love.
☆retrograde scorpio venus- feels unlovable. Extreme trust issues. Highly sensitive. Very very very high on trust. You know how they say scorpios take tests? With this placement? Tests x 100. Don't give 2nd chances. It's very very difficult for them to be vulnerable. People have rejected them alot. Might have been body shamed or criticised for looks. They feel like they don't deserve to be loved.
☆scorpio stellium in the natal chart- highly intuitive. Usually sees things beforehand. POWER. THE DARKNESS. THE EYES!!! Very beautiful people inside out. However they don't trust easily but if they do, for the love of lord, don't break it cuz you'll be coming back again and again to win them over.
☆scorpio moon- been through some serious shit. Been through hell and back with themselves. They understand people very well. However, they don't get the same understanding in return. They can see right through you so don't f with them. Hate mind games.
☆scorpio rising- very very intimidating. Females with this placement tends to attract jealousy in any form. People want to dominate you so bad. People telling them to tone it down. Basically people don't like your mindset, it triggers them cuz they can't have power over you. Hates 2 faced people. And the irony is, they usually deal with 2 faced people.
☆scorpio lilith- highly seductive. Very attractive. Sex appeal. Feelings run deep for them. Had people who wanted them only for sexual pleasures, wanted to touch them in any way. High vibration scorpio lilith is THE HEALER. also I've seen yall had some near death experiences?? Or witnessed someone dying in front of you.
☆ scorpio mercury- moves in silence. Very strategic and careful. Committed to anything they put their mind into. Always ready to be one on one while fighting. Their way of talking is very intense and mysterious which makes people wanna know how do you think like that. When they say something they really mean it. They take their time. Expects the worst. They figure things out so fast so don't even think of gaslighting them.
☆Scorpio in the 10th house- achievers. From a young age they had an insight of what they will become. Hold power in their work environment. If your a student, your classmates want to steal your notes, they feel envious that you make pretty good notes of whatever you're studying cuz yall go in depth and make pretty good observations of the topics. Authority figures.
☆scorpio in the 5th- gets extreme reactions from people. Ofcourse with any other placements, attracts jealousy. (Bruh I don't get it, what's with the scorpios dealing with alot of jealousy???? Like that's tiring) Grabs attention in parties, get togethers or any form of social gatherings. Might have dealt with people wanting to take your partners. Might have overly strict parents or very fucked up family issues.
That's it for now🫶🏻

the modern housing evolution.
Architecture in the last three decades has undergone a significant transformation, particularly in redefining the typology of residential dwellings. This reform is a response to the housing crisis influenced by land scarcity issues and the increasing population. Post-war situations and industrial technological advancements have rendered traditional architectural approaches obsolete in the modern era. Initially affecting only affluent households, modern architectural reform has gradually extended its influence to the middle class and, more recently, to the attention of the lower-income population.
Tumblr media
The modernization of architecture has led to several core changes in the design and spatial arrangement of homes. Floor plans, once rigid, have become more flexible and open. Room sizes have adjusted to prioritize spacious living rooms as central hubs, while other areas have been streamlined for optimal functionality. Housekeeping services are now separated from living areas, creating a divide between private and service spaces. Emphasizing the connection between interior and exterior, modern architecture focuses on creating spaces between the entrance and interior rooms and utilizing window designs that consider air insulation to maintain indoor temperatures.
These changes result in more functional and efficient spaces while still considering aesthetics and the daily needs of residents. However, despite the functional and ideal nature of these architectural reforms, they fall short of addressing real socioeconomic issues among communities, particularly those in the lower strata. This realization prompts a new question: "How can the lower strata access housing that meets the minimum basic requirements for a decent and healthy life?"
In response to a demand for smaller and more affordable homes, there was a shift towards more accessible and economical housing solutions. The primary approach to reducing costs involved changing the typology from horizontal residences to vertical dwellings, simplifying and reducing the use of mechanical installations, and creating simpler floor plans. Although these changes may compromise some comforts of traditional housing, they must prioritize the health aspects of the space and meet the minimum requirements for habitation.
The emergence of a new social segment, the proletariat, has also contributed to the development of more communal and centralized housing types. Residential homes have transitioned into "collective spaces," where each unit, central corridors, and terraces focus on private functions. The heart of these proletarian homes is the collective space designed for various public and cultural activities, such as learning halls, theaters, sports facilities, libraries, and children's spaces. This social transformation reorganizes private and public life for both men and women in the future.
In conclusion, the concept that has evolved as the most promising for "minimum dwelling" is the collective house. This concept accommodates new family structures, viewing families as the primary social unit without segregating gender roles. One example of the collective house concept is the development of a shared kitchen for multiple families within one housing complex. In the current context, a collective house could mean planning and building homes together on the same plot of land, creating communal spaces within. The implementation of collective housing offers benefits, including cost reduction, flexibility in design, and the opportunity for residents to collectively plan and envision their living spaces.
Collective housing is gaining recognition in Indonesia, but its widespread application in urban areas is still a work in progress. Kampung Susun Akuarium in Jakarta serves as a pioneering example. Built to relocate residents affected by the demolition of Kampung Akuarium, this collective housing project maintains a sense of community and social interaction. The design process actively involves future residents, allowing them to align their desires and needs for their living spaces.
The affordability issue in urban housing and the communal nature of Indonesian society present opportunities for the development of collective housing, especially in urban settings. However, addressing housing issues requires collaboration across sectors and stakeholders, not just in architectural design but also in legal regulations protecting residents, land use, combating capitalist exploitation, and harnessing the active and cohesive role of community organizations. Redirecting government policies and innovations towards collective housing could contribute to resolving the challenges of decent housing in urban areas. (by NI)

Astrology Observations-Part 2🌙
Having both Taurus and Aries placements in a chart can indicate someone who enjoys pressuring/embarrassing people when underdeveloped. These people can be actual bullies towards others when they’re at their worst.
Gemini rising’s/Mercury in the 1H look younger than they actually are.
Scorpio rising women are sometimes shorter than average while Scorpio rising men are taller than average.
8H moon’s can have dreams about scenarios that end up happening IRL.
Capricorn Rising’s usually have a skinny/bony appearance.
Whatever sign and house Saturn is in your chart can tell you what other people’s karma is for messing with you. Ex: Taurus Saturn in 7H? Taurus is a Venusian sign so it rules over beauty/appearance as well as luxury and money and the 7H signifies relationships, partnerships and marriage etc. Their karma may be their physical appearance looking uglier, plus going broke as well as their relationships/love life going downhill.
People with Scorpio in the 6H may prone to UTI’s/yeast infections or very heavy and painful monthly periods.
Cancer Rising’s may attract a lot of jealousy because of how intelligent they are (Gemini 12H)
Aries Rising men are usually buff and naturally muscular in appearance.
Aquarius in the 11H can attract multiple friend groups from all walks of life way more easily than the average person.
Pisces Moon/Venus are a lot more skilled in manifesting the things they want than they think they are.
Venus/Libra in the 12H can signify a lot more people than you think having a crush on you/being attracted to you. Your secret admirers just keep it to themselves because they assume you already know and don’t wanna boost your ego.
Leo, Libra, Scorpio and Capricorn rising women consistently attract men who neg them as a way of trying to get them to notice them.
Sagittarius placements (esp mercury) are blunt and rude in their speech but they don’t mean any harm by it, they just say whatever they’re thinking.
Virgo placements on the other hand are also blunt, but they over analyze every encounter and conversation they have so they usually know what’s rude to say and what’s not. So if a Virgo’s saying shady things towards you, they mean it.
Libra Venus’ can not remain in a relationship if there isn’t constant flirting. It’s also important not to let yourself go if you’re in a relationship with them because they are visual asf.
12H sun’s rarely get acknowledgment for the good they do but get a lot of attention for the mistakes they make.
12H suns can also be kind of gullible and naive growing up.
Mercury in the 2H usually don’t like to talk about things that aren’t factual or don’t benefit them in some way.
Mars in the 12H can be prone to high blood pressure due to internalizing their anger most of the time.
Venus in the 1H are very attractive, even if not conventionally handsome/pretty there’s something very aesthetically pleasing about their facial features and their overall vibe.
Venus in 1H can also do no wrong in the eyes of the public. Basically pretty privilege.
Same goes for Pisces Risings ⬆️ they usually get away with a lot due to their innocent demeanor.
Your moon sign is usually a prominent sign in your mother’s chart.
Saturn in the 8H might not lose their virginity until later in life, or at least not as soon as their peers.
Your rising sign can tell you what everyone was feeling or what was going on during the time of your birth.
Leo women have this tendency of leaving or cheating on men who are good to them for guys who are terrible people. (Not all Leo women of course, but I’ve seen soooo many Leo girls do this)
Pisces men are very, very confusing. The type of person to be married for years with kids and still try to keep up with what you got going on in your life.
Cancer in the 12H usually have issues with women/mother in their life.
Aries Venus prefer the chase more than the actual relationship.
Scorpio/8H placements have an inherent fear of their spouse/loved ones dying.
Pisces mars are freakier in bed than most people think.
Moon sextile Neptune manifest through their dreams a lot.
Sun in the 5H is someone who doesn’t take life too seriously and prefers fun over responsibility a lot of the time.
Mars in Scorpio are more revengeful and unforgiving than any other Scorpio placement honestly. These people can get revenge and still not be happy.
Mars in Sagittarius usually have lots of flings and hookups throughout their life.
TW!: Some underdeveloped Virgo men have a weird tendency to actually want to harm women mentally and emotionally. They’re not the type to just break up with a partner and move on, they usually want to make the breakup as fucked up as possible so the thought of them remains in the persons mind forever. I’ve met over 6 Virgo men who’s admitted to this before and the girl didn’t even do anything wrong in the relationship, they just didn’t wanna be with her anymore but didn’t want her to forget them.
Capricorn women usually have very long, flowing luscious hair.
Part 3 coming soon 🌪️
