People often say with pride, 'I'm not interested in politics.' They might as well say, 'I'm not interested in my standard of living, my health, my job, my rights, my freedoms, my future or any future.' ...If we mean to keep any control over our world and lives, we must be interested in politics.
Martha Ellis Gellhorn

100 I would rather live in a commune than never have another big tree in my life, never have functioning air conditioning outside of one room, never feel comfortable with my neighbors knowing they aren't comfortable with me, never have a right to just live somewhere without worrying about rent hikes and crooked property management. I think about this all the time, that if I can't have a standard of living like I used to, like my parents had, any other way, I would be so happy to share those things with a larger group if necessary since American monoculture and neoliberal government has us all fucked anyway

A slice of the cake
It’s not going well. Purchasing power is melting away, the standard of living is falling, and doctors are less and less available, drugs less and less reimbursed, and so on.
There is clearly competition for resources. If grain runs out, prices will go up. There could be power cuts. Families are fighting over water, which farmers want to use in mega-basins. There are too many workers for the job market. There are too many sick people for the healthcare system. The state coffers are empty. Tension is created by the fact that there are too many of us on a small slice of the cake. Lack doesn’t make you good, it only makes you more selfish. It’s me first! Everyone defends their own little piece of the cake. For example, there are often deaths during food distributions.

Over the past fifty years, we’ve become accustomed to a neoliberal narrative that has hardened since the 2000s: those with the most right to the cake are the early risers, the front runners. The far right, on the other hand, asserts that those most deserving of a slice of the cake are the racially pure. They promise the forgotten of the Republic that they will come first. They appeal to people’s selfishness. They win elections in Europe and support Putin, who finances them. This weakens the West. Instead of making people envious, they make them horrified: they accept discrimination and slavery. In Russia, rich white people live well because they exploit minorities in their own interests. The oligarchs fatten up and enjoy the biggest slice of the cake. The crumbs are left for others to fight over. The share given to the oligarchs only gets bigger, and people become increasingly racist. 1% of the population owns half the world’s wealth. The every man for himself mentality is detrimental to the whole. Solidarity is what pays off.

It’s the law of the richest: they reduce the slice of the cake shared by middle-income earners, and take the whole cake.
If wealth were distributed fairly, everyone could be richer. There would be more public services: trains, hospitals, schools, etc.
In the 90s in the West, there was more cake for everyone and people were more united. The far right was less strong.
People behave differently depending on the size of their fortune. The richest can speculate. For example, they block wheat to drive up prices.

Well …
It’s likely medical criminality many are hiding.
Human trafficking is illegal and using little children as mules is highly illegal
And when we catch those medical doctors, they will be murdered by the CIA and that’s not a terroristic threat that’s a promise to protect the community
And fuck bag Amber she can be fucked up by the CIA also

IS CAPITALISM WORKING?: BANKERS
The economist Kate Raworth claims that our brand of capitalism is designed to work for shareholders, landowners and “for those who own other peoples debt". I have discussed how capitalism works for her first two beneficiaries, (often to the detriment of the rest of us) and now I want to look at the financial sector, especially banks and bankers.
Perhaps the greatest irony is that when “those who own other peoples debt” got themselves into deep financial trouble through sheer greed, it was ordinary working people who had to bail them out because they were literally “too big to be allowed to fail”.
That in itself should tell us that our form of capitalism works very nicely for those who hold “other peoples debt.” Unfortunately, it doesn’t work very well for the rest of us.
In October 2008, the then Labour government announced a £500 billion rescue package to bail out the bankrupt financial sector. What has followed is 25 years of austerity. This led directly to a massive decline in the value of pay, living standards and the quality of our public sector services, especially the NHS.
Mark Carney, the former governor of the Bank of England had this to say.
“When those who make decisions to grant loans (ie own other peoples debt) do so only in order to sell them on, their duty of care diminishes. In the run-up to the crisis, underwriting criteria moved from careful to careless, responsible to reckless…and when the music stopped, the masters of the universe turned to the state." (M Carney, Values, William Collins, 2021)
The deregulation of the financial sector begun under Regan and Thatcher, led inevitably to the financial sector becoming greedier and greedier. This has led directly to 1.3 million people in the UK loosing their jobs between 2007-2010, while in 2017 working families were still £30 a week worse of than before the crash.
“Gordon Brown says greedy bankers should be jailed over their role in the 2008 financial crash” (Mirror:32/10/17)
According to Brown it is a scandal that no major executives were ever prosecuted for fraud despite bringing the country to the brink of ruin. In fact, rather than being gaoled, bankers have done very nicely, thank you.
‘We’ve had a run on champagne:’ Biggest UK banker bonuses since financial crash…As most Britons face the biggest squeeze on their incomes since at least 1990, already very highly paid bankers are celebrating “particularly obscene” bonuses in the City’s pubs and wine bars." (Guardian: 16/02 22)
Nothing it would appear has changed. Under our system of capitalism, the greed of the already wealthy is rewarded at the cost of ordinary working peoples incomes and standard of living. Kate Raworth’s analysis of Capitalism in the UK has pessimistically proven to be all too true.

Provide sustainable income-generation opportunities for Palestine refugees, as well as other poor or marginalised groups who live and work near them.
The UNRWA Department of Microfinance provides sustainable income-generation opportunities for Palestine refugees, as well as other poor or marginalised groups who live and work near them.
It extends credit and complementary financial services to households, entrepreneurs and small-business owners. These investments create and sustain jobs, reduce poverty and empower our clients, particularly women.
Many of the microfinance programme’s clients operate small, often informal businesses on the margins of the economy. They include fishermen, garage-owners, at-home seamstresses and vegetable stall-owners. We focus our microfinance operations on the poor urban areas where refugees often live, as these tend to be centres of commercial and industrial activity.
To create self-employment opportunities for youth between 18 and 30 years of age, the UNRWA microfinance programme also provides start-up loans for young people looking to start their own businesses.
By lending to Palestine refugees, women, youth and other marginalized clients, the microfinance department supports the UNRWA human development goal of “A Decent Standard of Living.” The department organizes its programming with the strategic objective of providing its clients with “inclusive financial services and increased access to credit and saving facilities” that can provide them with new opportunities.
