Hey, I really love your art and I'm thinking of commissioning something, but I just wanted to ask how it works. As in, is it just that you turn our prompts into art and we then have the digital copy, or is there a way to get a physical one? Do we have to pay more for the physical copy? Is there only the commissions form on kofi or is there seperate forms for if we want different type of art?

Hi anon! The most common commission that I offer is the digital one, since is easier for everyone involved to make changes and receive it sooner, but I can do traditional commissions too, they can be watercolors up to A4 size or sketchcards of 2,5*3,5 inches, the shipping usually is 10USD and includes tracking info.

For digital commissions you can either use my Ko-fi page, my Vgen page, a DM on discord (I'm GYRHS there too) or an e-mail to [email protected] where you can detail your idea and I can give you an approximate cost (this works for watercolor commissions too).

Normally once we both are happy with the price of your commission I send you a PayPal invoice if I was contacted via discord or e-mail with all of the details of your commission and my ToS (if you place your order on Ko-fi or VGen the pages do this automatically). Then, once the invoice is paid and the references sent I begin the sketch and show it to you so you can make changes before I make the lineart, you can make up to 3 changes with no extra cost.

Depending on your type of commission I can send you your finished lineart or ask about the colors that would be use before render them or in the case of watercolor commissions before applying them on the paper.

When the commission is finished I send you the file on high resolution ready to print or I give your tracking number so you can see where your art is once I ship it.

3. In the gallery, it has no download link to houses marked as ‘Commission,’ how do I get those houses? I do not and will not ever post my commissioned houses for public download. They are in the gallery as a portfolio. You may feel free to commission a similar house of your own from me, though! 

4. What are the different tiers of your Patreon? Everything is listed here 

5. How long is your Early Access period? I release my lots 3 weeks early for Patrons. 

6. What is your TOU on publicly released builds? - Please do not claim my builds as your own or reupload. - Feel free to edit my builds to your liking but keep them for personal use only. - Do not use my lots as a base for your own shared builds. - If you'd like me to see you using my lots, tag @cloverbuilds or @catharsim on Tumblr!

1. What is the process like? My process for commissions is as follows: 

You send me a direct message on Tumblr and we discuss what you want. This is when you would show me reference images. if you have a blueprint of the house, that’d be outstanding. It makes it a lot easier on me!

I get to work and may ask questions along the way about general opinions on the house, if any problems arise, etc.

I show you a finished product in pictures of the interior and exterior for approval.

Payment transaction via purchase of a Commisioner subscription on my Patreon. You will be charged the day you pledge and then charged the same day each month. You can end your subscription or change to a lower tier before you are charged again. If you’d like to keep your Commissioner access, you are entitled to one build per month! 

I send the house to you via SimFileShare

2. What is included in the price for a standard commission? The standard pricing of the Commissioner tier is $12. This is for residential homes up to four bedrooms. If you would like to commission a larger build or a community lot, DM me and we can discuss other payment methods like Paypal. 

Do you take commissions for Sims 4? No I don’t sorry. I dont play TS4 enough to be good at building, so I stick with what I know - which is TS3.

Will CC come with the house? I try to use very minimal CC in builds I’ll be sharing with someone else. But the cc I do use will be included in the file because I know how annoying it is to copy and paste links or track it down yourself.

I know there is controversy about this but I don’t have the time to track down every creator’s TOU. Honest to God I’m not trying to make money off other’s creations, I’m just trying to make it easier for people to have access to pretty houses. If someone specifically does not want their stuff included in a folder, feel free to message me and I’ll oblige.

Will your furnish the home for me if I pay extra? All my CC is in .package format and therefore will not transfer with the lot when exported. Tracking down each piece of cc for a fully furnished house is a nightmare even for the most organized person. So sorry, but no.

Are there any rules once I get the build? Yes and no. It’s yours, you paid for it. Feel free to edit it, never use it, burn it down, go nuts. The one thing I ask is please do not reupload it or claim it as your own. I put a lot of time into my builds and I would like credit given where it’s due. Thank you! <3

Hello thank you for asking, generally i dont do selfship/ ocxcanon thing over the fandoms that i like. There experiences with self shippers that made uncomfortable over my art 💦💦💦

But i still draw self ships comms if the series open for self ships interpertation (like otome/dating sim game) or fandom i generally had no idea whats it about

I can draw pretty much anything. Furries, RPF, OC insert, Self insert, crack ships, detailed designs, i can also illustrate fanfics, Headcanons, and shitposts. I can make comics and custom stickers as well! Just ask. (about the comics, i will only do them in monochrome, like this) NSFW and gore and everything inbetween is OK. I cannot draw MECHAS.

i will need you to send me as many references as possible, of the characters, the clothes & accessories, and the pose you want for them. (stickmen drawings are fine, and if you describe the poses it should be fine as well but it's harder to visualise for me) might ask for some context around the characters if i don't know them :) same if they're original characters, tell me everything<3

you can send me a drive folder with every information necessary. If you don't have many ref, you can send me everything in DMs directly.

the ideal ref folder has : face closeups, in side profile, front, 3/4, (faceclaim is very helpful if there is any) same for the body, ref sheet or at least a good indication of the character's body type, body language, and style. same with clothes. and a .txt file where you write your idea + where are some specific details like their scars, or facial hair, birthmarks etc, and any info you think might be relevant<3 and a clear pose reference if possible

once i start the commission, i'll kinda disappear for a week or more, then come back with w.i.ps, i will ask you if there's anything you want to change

sometimes it can take a lot longer than planned and sometimes it can be quick.... you just can never know, so just be prepared for that eventuality.

if you have a deadline for the commission (ex : birthday gift, holiday etc) i will be on time. but please contact me more than one week in advance.

if you commission me to draw my current obssession i will kiss you on the lips

pricing art can be complicated, but I'm trying to keep it simple. I like to be consistent, so I've made a price list

prices are generally related to complexity of design and piece shape/size, but I also tend to price things higher if they were a pain in the ass. and of course, if there’s a flaw I’ll lower the price depending on how much the flaw affects the piece

measurements and mug capacities vary somewhat, but they'll be close to whatever's listed

the prices will be subject to change over time

@artists who take commissions, how do I become a great client?

As a first time (and very nervous) commission requester, I’m looking for some tips and tricks from an artist’s perspective to make the process not only easy, but fun for any artist I work with. Of course, I know it can vary from artist to artist, but it’d be nice to see if there are any faux pas as well!

I have a couple of questions too, feel free to reblog and add-on because I think it can help other potential requesters who don’t know where to start!

Finding the right artist – Is it best to only look for a style you like, or is it best to request from someone within your fandom?

Green flags – What’s a good thing to look for as a requester to look for in an artist?

No vibes, just references? – Most artists ask for references, but are pinterest boards, or photos that illustrate ‘vibes’ helpful? Or are those too confusing?

Budgets – Should budgets be mentioned upfront?

Deposits vs. upfront payments – Most artists I’ve seen have requested a full payment upfront, is it considered disrespectful to ask to pay a deposit or partial and then full upon delivery?

Feedback – What’s the best way to provide feedback? Notes directly on the image? Is there a standard for revision rounds, or is it up to each artist?

Tips – Are tips expected? What is the code of conduct, or consensus?

What do you look for in clients/projects?

Was there anything your favourite clients have done that made your experience with them more enjoyable?
