These are the kinds of comments I've been seeing all over social media lately. These ones in particular are on the ABC YT. If you love Buddie you need to get out there and start posting about it. This season is still being written and they will take audience reaction into consideration at least to some extent with storylines this risky and a move to a new network.
Buck's bi storyline all on it's own is important I'm thankful the show is doing it and no Buddie doesn't have to happen for this storyline to happen. But as I said in a previous post 1. Buddie happening will be just as important for queer rep as Buck 2. Buck as a character deserves an epic love story. I don't get people who argue against this. Look at characters like Athena and Bobby and Chim and Maddie they all found their soulmates and got years of the show to build their romance. That is what Buck deserves.
Do NOT tell me you care about Buck if after only a few episodes of him even knowing Tommy you're like f*ck Buddie Tommy is endgame. Have you even been watching the show? Buck and Eddie have literally put their lives on the line for each other multiple times. Have been there for one another at their best and worst moments.
After all that Buck has gone through especially with relationships and after all his parents have put him through I want to see him realize he has real love with Eddie right in front him. I want to see him realize he has his own little family right there with Eddie and Chris. Realize that for all the years he spent trying to be enough for his parents he's always been enough to Eddie and Chris. I want to see him get married at some point and see like a montage of his and Eddie's moments all through the show. I see the importance of Tommy in Buck's bi journey right now but he's not Buck's person. I don't get how people aren't seeing that.

Hey! Dyt that they have Ruined Striker’s Character in Helluva Boss? I Loved The Striker that we had in Season 1 but in Season 2 it feels a bit off for me, I don’t know where to put my finger on it. It’s like he lost that sense of character that he had in Season 1, It’s hard for me to explain it. I guess I shouldn’t have expected as much for This Series but sadly Love it and would it be Bad if I thought that Striker and Blitz should have ended up Together and take his offer in The Harvest Moon festival Episode? (if they did take that offer, I would’ve loved to see them taking down some Overlords in Hell, Plus Something about Their interactions made me Ship Them More Than Stolas, Wondered what actually happened if he joined the I.M.P?? I mean he nearly did but Oh Well) and Also Blitz has a Horse!? Does Loona know about this!? WT-!?
Reasons why Striker's character is "ruined" since season 2:
1. His arrogance has been upped to a ridiculous degree (big d*ck statues of himself) He was only arrogant around Moxie because they hated each other, but Striker showed off in physical skill and song. Not sexually? 2. In season 1, he was stealthy, unknown, and very cunning. In season 2, he is brash, famous, and dumb. (He tries to kill Stolas in a public setting without protecting his own identity, he's apparently a well-known killer for hire in Wrath, and he doesn't kill Stolas immediately after finally tying him up in the alleyway. 3. In season 1 he wiped the floor with Moxie, Millie, and Blitz, while in season 2, randomly, Millie & Moxie and Blitz defeat him easily and twice, making him look pathetic. 4. In season 1 he was hired by Stella, a high-class goetia to kill Stolas, and thus was provided angelic weapons to do so. He hates upper-class demons and to be working for one is a high level of irony that adds more to his character; but it also hinted that he was playing dirty, that he would eventually use these weapons to turn against Stella to kill other high-class demons to fight against the political power balance (which is what he invited Blitz to) and Stella provided a great boon for him; extremely rare, dangerous weapons. In season 2, he's seen working for Crimson. However, he is the one providing his resume, almost begging to be hired by a (supposed to be) low-class IMp Mob Boss, but outside of maybe money, Crimson has nothing of value to offer in comparison to the hot deal that was Stella's offering. 5. In season 1, he is brutal but thorough with his attacks. He doesn't play with his toys. In season 2, he drags Stolas's torture out, messing around and playing with him for no good reason. (Yeah, Stella ordered that, but she ordered it LATER, AFTER Stolas was captured, and even that is against what season 1 Stella wanted, she wanted him dead ASAP. There is no reason to torture Stolas, especially if it leaves things open for him to escape. 6. His voice actor changed. Bosco does a really good job, but it's just not the same. Striker was probably the best villain in the series, and now he's just kind of a villain of the we(a)k kind of character I just don't care about anymore.
His character was only slightly better in the Fizzarolli past episode, but just seeing him dumbly pay attention to Fizz's song just solidified he's a joke now. Season 1 Striker would never do that. He would have sniffed out Blitz and gone after him immediately. Maybe have even shot Fizz; Crimson ordered him not to hurt him, but I dont think Striker would give a damn at that point. I agree that Striker and Blitz would be a far more interesting dynamic. Actually fighting against the power instead of Blitz just... sleeping with said power. Blitz wrapped himself up in Stolas, basically becoming his s*x slave in exchange for the book. Blitz even runs a business for sinners, sinners of which are dangerous towards imps and overpopulating Hell's upper layer. Striker offers him an out, Striker offers him everything. He offers him change, he offers him a chance to be someone. Stolas on the other hand still hasn't changed his classist attitude. A part of him will always disrespect Blitz, and I don't know if the writers will ever address it at this point. I mean, Blitz was confirmed to have been attracted to him. It very well could have happened.

Shadow and bone season 2 ep 1 thoughts (possible SPOILERY stuff BELOW)
AHHHHH so I went to the premiere screening and it was insane because the cast came out. I’ve been trying to refrain from posting about it because I don’t want to spoil stuff for you guys BUT GAH. IT’s so hard considering everyone keeps predicting things and theorizing and they ARE USUALLY RIGHT and I have to sit here LIKE AHHHH I want to confirm YOUR THOUGHTS. Okay wow idk what to say. Let me just say something ... complimentary but cryptic.
SO like I felt like this first ep was really good. I came in with low expectations and I came out super happy and they got so much done efficiently in a short amount of time compared to the entire season 1 lol. Like season 1 had nothing happening and the writers were lke... no we are writing a prequel we can’t get to the backstory. But now I love how the writers just were like f*ck it we’re gonna do some canon stuff. ALSO Like nearly more than half of it is CROWS. AHHH. It’s not super exactly like canon... but it’s so nice to watch the crows be in character and I always felt soc’s strength was its characters not so much the plot so ya. It felt like watching an interesting canon divergence of six of crows. AHHh Lots of crows. and more exploration of the actual personality/backstory of the crows hint hint compared to the season 1 AND THEY GET STRAIGHT TO IT... Like compared the season 1... season 1 told nothing and was so...subtle about everything to the point where you could completley not read that kaz had touch aversion or a disability...or anything aNd the crows were kind of just exisiting with little context given. In contrast, I felt like watching this season 2 ep 1 , the characters actually felt like themselves and you could finally undrestand the feeligns of the characters and empathize with them and we were learning about them. Okay i’ll stop gushing. And once you guys watch I’m gonna be so excited for y’all. It’s so fan-servicey  (in a good way) and so .. AHHH. lol I felt so satisfied with what they showed me in ep 1 so I’m excited for more *grabby hands* becasue they fed me...
edit: Okay sorry for ripping on season 1. It definitetly has its merits. I feel bad for putting it down to make the episode 1 look good. I think my fave aspect of season 1 is def the magical realism and seriousness of it. The first ep of season 2 doesn’t have that same subtleness as the first season.

I know I have been gone for the longest time I’m sorry let’s move past that for a second
Atla live action had me scratching my head in absolute bewilderment at 98% of the changes, screaming for ten minutes straight, laughing in absolute FURY, shaking my head bc why tf did you drag out this stupid fkin detail and leave out a million other details, becoming absolutely mute because I cant fathom forming words to describe the feelings I am feeling about what I just went through
There were positives don’t get me wrong but it feels like I’m in a toxic relationship, convincing myself the CRUMBS I was served made up for all the bad bits. I am literally in a fist fight against my nostalgia. Why did it get progressively more mind boggling as each episode went by???? My list of positives seemed to disintegrate in real time as I watched the directors and writers decisions unfold before my eyes. What. The fuck. Just happened.
Will I watch season 2 (if it even happens)??? Yes. Ofc. Bc seeing atla come to life in any way shape or form means I have to watch it even if I feel like I’m slowly increasing the pressure in my brain at times. My head is banging and I don’t think that’s cause it’s 5AM. My head is banging bc I don’t think I’ve ever had to hold in so much anger in my LIFE.
Also no hate to zuko and iroh I love atla so obviously I love them as much as the next atla fan but f*ck me, am I the only one who feels like the writers only cared about those two?? Like???? Where was the development between the gaang??? Where was it???? I feel DEPRIVED!!!!!
Bruh.
Book 1 and Aang doesn’t know how to move a single drop of water 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 but we got to see bumi a million times!!!!!!! So it’s ok!!!!
Guess I know why bryke left!

Nettles is not cut out but she's not going to be in S2 cause they're slowing a lot the series. Season 2 won't have Gullet's battle and the take of King Landing either, cause Daemon is going to be at Harrenhal, except when he ots with Mysaria Blood and Cheese in King Landing, but that happens in episode 1, after that he's the whole season at Harrenhal, and only by the end of ep 7 will meet Oscar Tully and Nyra is reaching him there in episode 8. It means they're not concluding the season with the take of King Landing, but much earlier, so it does make sense that Nettles is pushed to S3, cause she plays major role in Gullet's battle, Maidenpool arc and Daemon's plotline and nothing of this is happening in S2. About the sowing, they can show that white guy trying to claim Sheepstealer and fails, so after that Sheepstealer is going to be wild dragon around and Nettles will claim him not cause of the sowing but because is finding him randomly, feeding him cause she has no afraid and Sheepstealer will choose her as her rider. They can show that in S3, before she joins first Jace and later Daemon. I also think that considering they're purposely slowing down the series, season 3 will have Gullet and King Landing and S4 Maidenpool, God's eye and the conclusion of the Dance. 4 seasons as George wanted.
I agree that she hasn’t been cut from the show, but if she’s cut from this season, slowing things down still isn’t a good excuse. Not when they have time to include every other dragonseed, expand their plots, and create pointless plots for a random character that is a show creation (who shouldn’t even be there).
Nettles isn’t your run-of-the-mill character. She might be a secondary character, but she’s equally if not more important than Addam(who they are making too big of a deal about when his claiming of Seasmoke was not that remarkable). She’s way more important than Ulf and Hugh who are allegedly getting additional scenes even though they could’ve been combined since they serve the same purpose.
There is no good excuse to cut her from season two. Yes, the Battle of the Gullet doesn’t happen until s3, and Silver Denys is there, but she’s there before the battle like all the rest of the dragonseeds that are being included.
They don’t have to show her claiming Sheepstealer (yes it does take her a while to claim him), but they can show her visiting and observing him.
Or just show how her life is as a homeless orphan and how she longs for a better life. The bottom line is that there are plenty of ways in which they could include her this season. Hell, this show has no problem making sh*t up for irrelevant’s so they can definitely find something for Netty to do.
The only reason why she could potentially be cut from this season is misogynoir and the show not considering her series player in comparison to her male and/or white counterparts. At this point, it’s whatever and the show obviously is going to do what they want, but I’m not buying these arguments and I’m sick of this fandom acting as if she’s irrelevant or what is being done is okay. It’s not.
Nettles is a final girl. She’s in every version of the dance where plenty of others who are being included in this season are not. The narrative doesn’t make sense without her, but no one gives a f*ck.
They say it’s fine that she’s cut, racebent, replaced, whatever because she doesn’t look like them. No disrespect anon, but it is absolutely heartbreaking to see what is happening. Nettles is an amazing important character and she shouldn’t be pushed back another season when everyone else is being included.

Everything wrong with S.T. 03x01
Tumblr media
Masterlist
Summary: this is just a list of my complaints about stranger things season 3 episode 1. Just some things that didn’t made sense to me when I rewatched it and wanted to expose them to see if I was the only one who thought the same. Many may sound silly, but kept me awake at night for a few days.
Word count: 1.1k
A/N: I think I wrote this when the season came up, so I still had no idea of what came next. Try to place yourselves in the body of a teenage girl back in 2019. BTW, this was my fav season💖
This was made from a sarcastic pov, mostly centered on the first episode but with a few elements of all the season. I tried to analyze everything from a realistic way, just to have fun, so if you don’t agree with something that is writen here, you can argue that in the comments.

1) Up with the communism
The first scene of the episode shows how the soviets are trying to open a portal which is appearently the same that communicates the upside down world with ours. It isn’t explained how they built it, but in the previous season it was suggested that a scientist in the Hawkins lab could have copied the blueprints. Here are two things that I can’t understand. The first: Why did the soviets copy the machine? Did they know what it did? Why did they want to open that portal if supposedly they already know that it leads to a dangerous world filled with monsters? The demogorgons didn’t appear in the news, and the demodogs take place months later. Were there soviet spies in the lab?
Second: How did they copy the machine? It is assumed that the Hawkins lab is a maximun security building where secret experiments are carried out that not even the government knows about. They used humans with powers as weapons, they opened a portal to other dimension, they masked several assassinations... How is it possible that not only the communists could infiltrate them, living more than 8000 miles away and with little to no idea of the building’s structure, but also steal the blueprints with not a soul knowing about it?
Maybe they built it themselves, which could make sense because we could see that it fails and explodes releasing a huge amount of electricity that kills anything nearby. But how could did they build it themselves if the scientists aren’t even wearing electricity proof suits? And not only that, we can also see how a 14 year old kid is able to intercept their ultra-secret messages with a homemade tin antenna. If they are a prepared and advanced organization, they sure leave too much to be desired.
2) Jim Hopper, the ‘love’ expert
After that scene we skip to Jim Hopper’s house, who is watching the tv. We see how he leans back on his seat to check on Eleven and Mike. It turns out they are kissing, and Jim gets angry and enters Eleven’s room. Ok ok, let’s see here... You’re aware that your adoptive daughter stays in her room from dawn everyday with her boyfriend, and it surprises you seeing them kiss each other? What did you expect them to be doing? Sudokus?!
What’s more, we can see that in the following episodes he tries to make them break up by blackmailing Mike and lying to Eleven. And he is happy about it! I mean, if it was clear that sooner or later that was going to happen, what does it matter? You who are reading this pay attention to Jim Hopper, he is an expert. He hasn’t dealt with a teenager in his life, but that doesn’t mean he can’t tell her daughter’s boyfriend to go f*ck himself.
And even more, what kind of shitty excuse is that ‘nana is sick’? The fact that Eleven has spent twelve years trapped and locked away from the rest of the world doesn’t mean she’s retarded. I woundn’t tell my daughter such an obvious and stupid lie knowing that she can break my neck with just a glance.
3) The shi- shopping centre
When Mike and his friends arrive to the movies, the lights and electric devices turn off and everybody starts to complain. But doesn’t that mall have a back-up system? Didn’t they predict that with so many people using their facilities a few days after its opening there were big chances of a short-circuit. Specially considering the new crazy employee of the ice cream shop whose emergency procedure is flipping the switch up and down until the lights turn on again. How could they not foresee that before?
4) Will, you are retarded
During this season we will see how each time the Mind Flayer is planning something, Will notices the danger because appearently he can sense it by touching his neck. It isn’t really explained how or why. It seems they use as an excuse the fact that he was a host in the previous season, and so they have some sort of link, but I thought they had already threw him out of his body using heat. Anyway, Will senses him more frequently each time, but the motherf*cker doesn’t say anything to his friends who helped saving him, nor to his mother who was the first who tried to save him, nor to the police man who discovered that he was still conscious while being a spy.
Is this kid f*cking crazy or what?! In season 2 he could sense how the Mind Flayer had possessed him and kept quiet too. And what happened next? If not for Eleven, the demodogs would have devoured his friends, his mom, Jim and every citizen in Hawkins and possibly in all America, that’s what. And in this season he doesn’t say anything to anyone until he’s a 100% sure that the Mind Flayer is back. Guys, I present to you all, Will the Wise, or should I say Will the Wh*rebag.
5) The mind flayer's mindless plan
At the end of the episode, we see that Billy crashes with a bush when some gooey stuff gets stuck in the windshield. We don’t know what it is not how it got there, and we won’t get an explanation later. They just forget about that detail. Anyhow, the Mind Flayer traps Billy and in the following episodes we see that he becomes a host like Will, but this time instead of spying, he is used for fighting. Everything is ok, except for the fact that Billy is one of the worst possibilities for a host in the whole series.
To begin with, why is the Mind Flayer still in Hawkins? What is stopping him from emigrating to other further countries, or continents, or even another State? Why doens’t he just flies to Russia, where there already was the necessary technology to open a portal and invade Asia and Europe, without a bunch of teenagers who could stop him? He could’ve also taken possession of soviet soldiers and scientists that worked there, who were thousands, in case they travelled there to stop him. Eleven might have powers but she can’t be using them constantly against hundreds of people at the same time. It’s just that instead of going anywhere else it just stays in Hawkins, where he already lost twice.
Billy works in the public pool during midsummer. If the Mind Flayer’s plan was to invade our world, we sure wasn’t going to win that way, but hey, at least it will get to go home with a good suntan. Listen to this advice guys. If you don’t know where to go on Summer, travel to Hawkins to get a nice tan alongside the Mind Flayer, a monstrous and evil creature who will try to conquer the town, but will humbly take his time to enjoy the Sun from the shadows of the local pool.

Watching Halo Season 2, Episode 1
Here we go again! Things I’ve picked up from discussions leading up to this season: we’re starting off with a pretty major timeskip, The Fall of Reach is coming and is going to SUCK, bargain-bin Spartans are going to be invented, there’s a guy named Ackerson and he’s a weasel. Let’s be about it!
Cold open—it looks like the procedure to remove Cortana. Who’s crying? John? Cortana? The combined entity they became? (Is this a Tuvix situation?)
And since this is where the timeskip happens, I’ll go ahead and register my biggest complaint now. It’s actually the same complaint I had last season: rushing this into so few episodes is a mistake. In a show with room to breathe, the Cortana!Chief thing should have been a MINIMUM of three episodes: one where we see what that person is like, one about separating them, one about the repercussions. Minimum. Instead, it’s an entire arc about the one of the most impactful things that happens to John in his adult life… and it’s handwaved away in a timeskip to get back to the action. What an absolute waste.
After our cold open, we slam into a disorienting bit where it takes me too long to sort out when and where we are and what Silver Team’s status is. Riz is with them, and everyone’s voices have lost the flatness, so I’m assuming we’re all pellet-free now. (A moment later this is confirmed when Riz asks Vannak about his as if he’s the last holdout. He WATCHES NATURE DOCUMENTARIES NOW. “Animals ‘n stuff.” Oh, my heart.) Not sure exactly where Master Chief’s at emotionally, he seems distracted. They’re attempting to evacuate a civilian population before the planet gets glassed and it’s not going well.
Marines are not getting through to the leaders—is this another opposition planet or just full of stubborn people? (Also, one of the marines is called Shepard—is that a name I should know? Or wait, is that one of the Mass Effect guys?) Hey, it’s the mystical old woman from the trailer! She tries to spar verbally with Master Chief and he doesn’t respond. You need to make Kai the face of the party, bro, her Charisma score is way higher than yours.
Some marines are missing, so Master Chief goes off to retrieve them. Or should I say up, as in up a sheer cliff face, allowing Vannak to drop cool facts about the Nubian Ibex and I would like to adopt him now. Chief finds them after a brief friendly-fire incident. They explain they’re a comms team. “I could tell by your aim.” Ouch.
Aaaaand RIP the smart one who didn’t want to move. This ‘out of the fog’ stuff is some horror-movie shit right here. Wait, the Covenant have personal cloaking devices now? Don’t like that. Chief needs one of those glowing blades, they seem very useful. Verbatim from my notes at this point: “It’s nice they only attack one at a time. OR NOT F*CK” as the VERY EFFECTIVE shot with all the blades lighting up around them happened.
I was trying to figure out how John was going to get out of this (my guess was Sudden Kai Appearance) when the Covenant guys all just… vanished? Why? And again, just a second later I got to write OH SHIT GLASSING. Turns out that’s why.
He manages to save just the one marine and heads back to the rendezvous point, just in time to catch a Foretelling of Doom from the mystical old lady before she goes to commit suicide. Huh, I thought she’d last longer.
Aaaand shower scene, lol. You’re not beating the ‘Master Cheeks’ rep like this, buddy.
Debrief—as a side note, Kai’s colorful hair is gone, which makes me very sad. Also, congrats to the FX department on making Riz’s scars truly gnarly looking. (And thanks to the showrunners for not chickening out and giving her ‘pretty girl scars’ or something.) Anyway, a bunch of other planets also got glassed while they were gone, including Madrigal.
Another pause for a broader point here—I don’t like that. I realize that Kwan was widely disliked by Old Guard fans last season, but the point of her storyline seemed to be that the planet itself was important. I don’t like the idea that they backpeddled so severely in response—stand by your creative choices! And again, given the import of the planet last season, glassing it in a timeskip is a poor storytelling move. (Also, you’d think the Covenant would be a little warier of glassing planets they KNOW have connections to the Halo, at least until they’ve really, really thoroughly checked them out… but I digress.)
Back to the debrief. John is trying to convince Keyes and the team that something’s up with how the Covenant behaved on Sanctuary, but Keyes at the very least isn’t buying it. Some rando appears—oh, it’s Ackerson, who ATBNL says is a weasel. He’s certainly living up to his rep immediately. My baby Kai clocks it right off: “Sir, if I may, who the hell is this guy?” LOL. Apparently, he’s Halsey’s replacement. Mostly this makes sense, but where’s Miranda? Did she resign? Is she being punished for her association to Halsey? Keyes seems to have escaped that... (Ackerson specifically references Halsey’s own consequences and there’s a very awkward look at Keyes, lol.)
Ackerson’s speechifying and it’s pretty clear he’s mostly here to flex by showing he can drop in on them like this. He calls each member of the team by name(+number) and makes it clear he knows their records, but he only calls John “Master Chief”, which I found a little odd. There’s an ominous little exchange about the Spartans’ importance to the public: “They feel safe.” “Are they?” And finally after he leaves, Kai pushes Keyes for a bit more of an explanation. “He’s the boss,” Keyes says shortly. He doesn’t make it sound like a good thing.
Hey, it’s Rubble! Wtf is this? A slave auction? A fighting ring? Wtf, Soren, I thought better of you. (I am perhaps naïve.) Apparently it’s a “2 years’ indentured service” auction. This is how they’re absorbing some of the refugees from Madrigal (and possibly other places? Idk) This redhead (Felix?) says he’s got a line on how to find Halsey. I think Soren’s biting, even though he’s playing it cool. What does Laera think of all this?
Meanwhile in Ackerson’s office, the surviving comms tech—Perez—is being debriefed when John drops by to try and convince Ackerson of his concerns. John and Perez share a look, and possibly a flashback, of the Fog Fight. John gets a little chatty trying to draw Ackerson out with their shared combat experience. Ackerson gets weird about things, asking about hallucinations and John’s mental state. Did Perez and the others not see what John saw? Yikes, if so. Or is Ackerson just playing some political game? Blowing the Master Chief off and flexing his power over him is stupid if he wants the Master Chief’s cooperation. And I have to believe he needs it at least a little—surely he rises or falls on the Spartans’ performance, just as Halsey and Parangosky did?
Back on Rubble, Kessler is in a toy Master Chief helmet with a little toy Spartan. (The props department must have been delighted to get to just go to Target and pick that up, lol.) (Also, there’s a lot going on with your choices there, Soren…) Kessler’s upset over something. Soren puts his foot in it with Laera, and she calls him out on it, bless her. I love you, Laera. Laera tells Soren they need to get the hell out of Dodge, and I think Soren should listen. But I don’t think he will.
Perez gets a medal (while *two* shirtless Spartan dudes watch it on TV, welcome Vannak *eyeroll*). She looks deeply uncomfortable. Another Spartan team, Cobalt, comes in—hey, there ARE more of them! (Are all their names metals in this timeline?) Aaaand they are weirdly hostile to Silver Team, apparently on account of… Silver Team having taken their pellets out? That is deeply weird. First of all, how are they CAPABLE of being weirdly hostile over the pellet issue if they still have their own pellets? And secondly, how is it that Silver Team cared about all these revelations about Halsey and their shared pasts and the other Spartans just… don’t? Or am I missing something here? Cobalt’s headed out on a mission that sounds eerily like the doomed comms team’s Fog Fight. John tries to give them a heads up.
He also goes straight to Ackerson and tries to get HIM to give Cobalt Team a heads up. Ackerson is again weird and very hostile. He distrusts John’s report because of the Sangheili just leaving bit, and blows off John’s very reasonable request to warn Cobalt that something weird may be up. Again, I don’t understand Ackerson’s game here. It would have cost him nothing to agree to John’s face—or honestly, even to pass on his concerns, which really do amount to nothing more than “watch out for something hinky”.
Rubble again. Soren’s prepping to head out and he and Kessler chat. Kessler’s worried about a monster, Soren refuses to reassure him completely, which Kes, like any smart kid, immediately clocks. The whole scene is just dripping in THIS IS BAD foreshadowing. Soren’s crew has Felix the redhead, but they’re confused that Soren’s coming along to check out his tip?
John is trying to be all stealthy in a hoodie out in the city, which suddenly looks 75% less Solarpunk Utopia and 75% more Cyberpunk than when we saw it with Makee. Parangosky meets up with him—he doesn’t seem to be expecting her specifically, so what did he expect? Did she resign or was she discharged (or court-martialled?) What power does she still have to help? Who are her allies? Good on John for having grown enough to attempt to negotiate, but that exchange—  “What will you give me?” “I’ll believe you.”—was killer. She absolutely has his number there.
On Soren’s ship, Felix is telling the full version of his tip about Halsey, and WHAM, we come out into a debris field with a destroyed ship. Soren’s dragging Felix along, the kid’s chatty and nervous. The microgravity effects are pretty good, well thought-out. Felix will not shut up and is putting his foot in it. Ooooh, pressurized door in a vacuum issues! I love this show. Crap, it was all a set up. Soren’s arrested. Who’s going to tell Laera and Kessler? What will Laera do?
John’s (still? Back?) undercover, going to… what looks like a futuristic phonesex establishment? … to pretend he’s talking to Cortana. God, this scene was sad. They packed what, again, should have been an arc into about three sentences and a choice of medium/location. As I said last season, they do a brilliant job fitting everything in with clever and efficient writing. Finally he has another Fog Fight Flashback, this time with Makee?
And we wrap up with mixed flashes—John, Laera and Kessler getting the news that Soren “died”, and Kessler running off to see… Kwan, hiding in one of the caves of Rubble.
Wow, there's a lot going on here! I can't wait to see what's next.

I’m currently rewatching ep 2 S2 of Kin for like the 4th time (so happy we got so much more Mikey goodness this episode!), and I think this little exchange between Michael and Jimmy is my favourite of the episode.😂
Tumblr media
Jimmy: I’m telling you, Michael, wait until you f*cking see this! Coming in?
Mikey: Do I have to?
Jimmy: Yes! You’re my brother. I value your opinion on these things.
Mikey: F*ck’s sake.
Jimmy: Yeeeaaaaaah, that’s the attitude!
Tumblr media
The sheer exasperated sibling quality of this scene cracks me up - Michael being a grump and Jimmy compensating with mockingly extra enthusiasm. 😂
And then once they get inside, what are they there for? A baby Burmese python! Naturally, Jimmy’s just dragged him along to torment him with snakes again. lol
(Is this the face of a man who has any opinions to offer on the matter of snakes? Except that maybe buying one that’s going to grow to be 20ft long and keeping it as a pet is not a great idea.)
Tumblr media
The Jimmy & Mikey scenes are always among my favourites (both for the brotherly affection and the greater complexities of their relationship), so I hope we get more of them this season.
I do find myself worrying about the rift their father’s return from prison is likely is cause though. Michael obviously already has Bren’s number when it comes to what the man’s capable of and immediately took the initiative to try and make sure the rest of the family is united against him.
Tumblr media
Despite Michael’s trepidation over Bren’s return, he also seems to be the only one who’s not afraid openly go toe-to-toe with him. Other than Amanda (and maybe surreptitiously Frank), he seems to be largely standing alone thus far.
Jimmy’s obviously aware of what Bren’s like, but perhaps not to the same extent. Plus, his relationship with Bren - despite it’s tensions - doesn’t seem quite as adversarial as Bren’s with Michael. And I can’t help but notice that whenever Bren’s going off about something, Jimmy is always the one most conspicuously closed-mouthed.
Tumblr media
The juxtaposition of the scenes in episodes 1&2 where Jimmy and Michael separately accompany Amanda to the Turkish money transfer store just speaks volumes about the difference in their characters.
When Jimmy’s told only one person can go in the back, he just accepts it and remains behind (despite looking uncomfortable about it) while Amanda conducts the rest of their business. Whereas Michael, in same scenario, just silently stares the store clerk down as if daring him to stop him from going with Amanda; unsurprisingly the man doesn’t challenge him. One brother is an insecurely submissive follower, and the other is a self-assured Mr F*ck-Around-and-Find-Out. xd
Tumblr media
But it’s Jimmy’s insecurities that ultimately weaken him, and thus make him so malleable to Bren’s manipulations. Manipulations that can only serve to drive a wedge between he and Amanda - who will then just be driven even more firmly to Michael’s side, resulting in further conflict between he and his brother.
All of which is great for Bren, because in playing Jimmy off against Michael he not only gains himself an extra lackey (who Mikey will be unwilling to take out), he also checks him as a support to Michael and Amanda.
At least until Bren crosses the line and Jimmy finally wakes up and realizes he needs to find his courage and stand up to the man. And that he needs to stand with Michael to bring him down. ~
(*screeches* In case it’s not obvious, I really NEED the rest of those episodes!! I am in torment okay- Netflix bingeing has ruined me! 😭😬)
And speaking of Mikey and Jimmy, here’s some interesting things Charlie had to say about their relationship and his role as Michael:
“It really helped explain Michael (the brotherly dynamic). How Jimmy handles being around Michael, how he’s protective and also kind of feels threatened by him, was so revealing to me. I think that their history with their father is very, very complicated. I think that Michael has done stuff that is almost unforgivable in the past towards his brother, but at the same time, weirdly, he kind of - I think Jimmy knows Michael took the brunt of the father’s abuse. And in a way Jimmy can’t ever, you know, can never not try to be protective of his brother.
There was a version of a lot of the Jimmy and Michael scenes where we could have played them with much more tension. And much more kind of chest-puffing, like try to be the top dog, and neither one of us felt like that was right. We didn’t discuss it necessarily, but I think that we both felt that like ‘these two have been through so much’. That really they just love each other, and they want to support each other. What that means sometimes - and this is true of a lot of siblings, a lot of families in general - it means you have to find a way to forgive things that once seemed unforgiveable.”
~
“One of the things I liked about Michael, I’m fascinated by what he doesn’t say as much as what he does say, you know? And in a family where everyone’s got opinions and everyone’s giving their input, and he just kind of sits back and takes it all in and keeps his opinions to himself most of the time.
I’m not, as a performer, I’m not afraid of that. I’m not sitting there counting my lines in a script wanting more. (laughs) You know, I quite enjoy that. I did a similar thing with Boardwalk Empire - you know, the character in that doesn’t say a huge amount but he’s very influential.”
~ Charlie Cox
(That said, I’m thrilled to see Mikey stepping up so much more this season!!! 🔥❤️🔥)

Ranking Magnificent Century Seasons based solely on the Nigar/Ibo content
1- Season 2B (minus the last 7 episodes): The best of the best. They have an actual relationship and many scenes I cherish.
2- Season 1B: The arc starts. Many iconic scenes (the end of Episode 23, for instance).
3- Season 1A: The arc haven’t started yet but Nigar is at her most charismatic so it deserves this place.
4- Season 3A: Incredibly bad. Ibo returned to his Hatice for good and marries Nigar to Rüstem. He is completely indifferent to her. It only gets this place because of their scenes with their incredibly well-casted daughter. I also like their last scene together. And I like Ibo’s last scene alone with their daughter in Episode 82 as well.
5- Season 2A: Incredibly cringy scenes of Nigar being a stalker. General awfulness. Only gets this place because of their first night and because of Ibrahim’s dilemma of both wanting to f*ck her and wanting to not f*ck her.
6- Season 3B: Pretty bad. Nigar is at her worst as a character. The only saving grace is that there are occasional reminders (mostly by Şah Sultan) that the affair happened and we get a “Nigar/Ibo Best of” compilation while Nigar is falling to her death.
7- Season 4: Absolutely no mention of Nigar. Way too many mentions of Ibo. Hatice and Ibo’s daughter is an important character. Awful.
8- Season 2 Episodes 57-63 (the last 7 episodes) Absolutely worst of the worst unwatchable garbage.

My thoughts on the season 1 finale for Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai
Warning!!! There will be spoilers so be sure and watch the show up until the end if you haven't already!
I'm super happy with how season 1 wrapped up but it...definitely wasn't what I was expecting, lets just say that... and I have lots of questions, thoughts, and just random tidbits I really liked so I thought I'd pile them all into one big post (I may make a second one if it gets too long I'll see where my brain goes).
First of all:
Tumblr media
I love that Henchman #2 (or whatever his number was haha I can't remember) showed up at the end with Gaptooth and thought "oh their going to play a really big part in the finale!" and the he just proceeded to go "f*ck this sh*t I'm out" like that one vine of the guy jumping into the water and I can't even with him 🤣
Tumblr media
Claw is a queen, need I say more? I am sad she ended up dying she was my fave (even though I figured she and the others would since that is typical for Gremlins in the movies to all perish by the end). But I can't help but wonder in this scene when she's looking up at Riley and telling her fellow brethren to kill him, if she'll somehow come back in season 2 for revenge? I think it was confirmed by Joe Dante or someone working on the original Gremlins movies that Stripe was essentially "reincarnated" as Mohawk (someone correct me if I'm wrong on this!) so it's definitely possible, Claw might even get reincarnated into Stripe somehow. They gave her such a fun personality I really hope she does return! (same for that one Gremlin that can sing really good I'm curious as to why the creators made her stand out so much).
Tumblr media
Also, I'm glad Snout survived! He doesn't seem too pleased to be a mogwai again but I'm glad he's ok, he's so cute! I do think it's interesting he (and another gremlin I'll mention later) made it, I wonder if the creators have plans for him in season 2...
Tumblr media
(Wow having a knife in your mouth makes you look really cool even if you don't have any hands)
So Riley died??? I put the question marks because yes, he did get turned into a cockroach and cut in half (REALLY rough way to go) but if you go back and watch this scene, do you notice anything strange?
Tumblr media
This mogwai he ate back in episode 8 wasn't with the people he consumed with pearl magic. All the gremlins got turned back into mogwai, but I didn't see this little guy anywhere with them. I was WAY too lazy to grab screenshots of all the mogwai at the end, but if you go back and look I swear I didn't see him anywhere. I bring this up for a couple of reasons. The "fourth rule" is that if you eat a mogwai you live forever right? Well, he never spit this guy back out, so shouldn't he still technically be able to live forever, regardless of what happens to him? And this mogwai looks so different than the others, and has a little tuft of fur with a white stripe on his head. Interesting that this is the mogwai he ended up eating... Wishful thinking I suppose, I'd just really love for him to come back. He was such a good villain!
Tumblr media
I'm glad Grandpa and Nuwa came back! Sam's Grandpa was such a fun character and Gizmo missing Nuwa was making me sad ;-;
Also I love that the Wing family essentially adopted Elle at the end it was really sweet. And it was nice Gizmo got to stay though after all that happened, I'm genuinely shocked Nuwa would let him?? Like yeah I know the show is a prequel and Sam is the old shopkeeper in the first movie, so naturally they'd have to end up together. But still!
Tumblr media
And finally: Yaaaaaay one Gremlin survived! I'm so happy this is essentially the Brain Gremlin from the second movie, he was my favorite character in that one and I'm glad they left him as a cliffhanger for season 2. He's still got a slightly evil side to him but as he explained to Elle, he isn't quite as chaotic as his brothers and sisters are. I wonder what his plans will be for season 2?
That's all folks, may make a follow up post to this one if anything else comes to mind!

Airachnid is a dangerous character who deserved more apparition (even if I don't like her, I think that she was a very good vilain)
Once, with a friend, I did a recap of everything Airachnid had done, and then I was like: "Damn, she's super dangerous and badass in fact… "
Here, the little summary of everything she has done ^^ :
She's a Decepticon, well she was. She's not on either side now. She is Arcee's arch nemesis, guilty of murdering Arcee's former partner: Tailgate. After torturing Arcee for information. She led a rather solitary life until her arrival on Earth. She has a passion for collecting rare species, slaughtering all a species and keeping one of the member in collection. She attempted to do this against Jack.
She later allied with the MECH, and kidnapped Jack's mother, to trick Arcee into falling for the MECH's trap.
She finally returned to the Decepticons, after a run-in with Breakdown and the Autobots. And had to team up with Starscream to retrieve a weapon. But, she imprisoned Starscream in cobwebs, and abandoned him to the Autobots, before going to find the weapon on her own. (The reason why Starscream goes neutral afterwards).
She tries to dethrone Megatron, by fomenting behind his back, but gets screwed by Soundwave who immediately puts her in her place. Megatron subsequently orders Breakdown and Dreadwing to get rid of Airachnid. But she manages to escape. Not without killing Breakdown in the process.
She has the power to control the Insecticons, in a rather unexplained way ^^', but I think they are some kind of clones of her, that she can control. Anyway (I will maybe try to answer this question another day), she met Starscream in a cave, as well as an Insecticon, and orders this Insecticon to kill Starscream (mainly for fun… The heck girl… Anyway, Starscream manages to get away with it). She challenge Megatron for a duel, and leaves the Insecticon to deal with it (Megatron wins).
She captures Arcee in her webs, mostly because Arcee foolishly pursued her on her quest for revenge. She is about to kill her, but Starscream intervenes to save Arcee, firing a missile at Airachnid. Airachnid manages to flee again, hurt and with a painful taste of defeat. She comes across an army of Insecticons in stasis, underground. She subsequently orders this army to attack the Nemesis, to kill Megatron. But, Arcee ends up finding her in a cave while the Insecticons attack the Decepticons. The two engage in battle, and Arcee manages to push her into one of the stasis cells in which the Insecticons were locked up. The Insecticons, no longer under Airachnid's control, once again become loyal to Megatron. And the Autobots are keeping Airachnid in the stasis cell, glad they don't have to deal with her anymore!
Just wow! She is only there for 5 episodes of season 1, and 2 episodes of season 2, that is to say 7 episodes in total, and she just mess up with everything and everybody so easly! Personally, I think she's a good villain, because as soon as you see her, you know that it will be a mess, and that she will f*ck up!
I don't like her, I admit, but I can't take away the fact that she's a dangerous villain, and I think it's a shame that she wasn't exploited to her full potential, because it there was really something to do with her. Just having her appear more often would have been nice.
I mean, if you look closely: It's because of her that Starscream became neutral, and ended up do things on his own side, put a spoke in the wheels of everyone (sorry for the joke). It is because of her that Silas can have Breakdown's body and therefore become CYLAS. It's because of her that the Autobots also find themselves dealing with the Insecticons on the side of the Decepticons, one of whom ended up disabled Bulkhead for a long time (5 episodes in all, it's a lot). And all this she did more or less indirectly! Oh, also, it's because of her that Silas understands how robots transform, so indirectly, it's because of her that Bee's T-cog is stolen… (-_-) Do you realize the impact this character had on the series? I think it's a shame that we don't notice it enough… There was so many things to do with this character…
I mean she would easly be an enemy of the season 3, she's dangereous and deadly alone, but she also have the possibilty to have her own army! Plus, we would have for sure more scene of fight with Arcee, and maybe also with KnockOut (who knows). She also want to kill Megatron. And Starscream too! Because, you know, he shoot a missile on her ^^; (oops)...
I think that she would be easly a main vilain... I don't do it in my novel, but because I didn't want that my characters have to deal with a vilain so dangerous like her... They have enough problems like that... But in the original series, that would have been very interresting and awesome!

Is it just me or does daemon not even have a dialogue with his daughters? well, when they are children he speaks at least a couple of words but later (episodes 8 and 10) he practically doesn't speak a word, a dialogue with either of them, seriously, they really treat rhaena and baela like random extras, I feel sorry for those who like them both and are hoping for something better for them in season 2 because the chances of that happening are 1%, the season will only have 8 eps and I doubt the writers care about them at least a little to give each one a complete sentence, rhaena, baela and helaena... three characters that no one seems to care about in hotd writers
It’s not just you. The last time he talked to them was in episode 6🫠 It pisses me off to no end when I think about itand it pisses me off even more when people try to say it's okay how Baels and Rhaena are portrayed😊
Anyone who feels that way or feels that Team Black is one big happy family sincerely f*ck you, those girls are depicted in a stereotypical manner and the fact that you don’t want to acknowledge that and would rather spout your bs for your stale white ship is one of the many reasons why this fandom says you people are racist c*nts.
Anyway, I will say that I going to keep hope alive that Daemon just talks to them(the bar really is in hell) for like a minute in the upcoming season, but yeah it’s bad.
They are treated like window dressing and to add insult to injury they cut/edited some of their scenes(Daemon hugging the girls and Baela talking with granny about wanting to be like her parents)🤦🏽‍♀️ You would think that Daemon was their stepfather or something because he doesn’t acknowledge them at all🫠
I don’t talk about it a lot, but I agree Helaena’s characterization is off too. There is a way better way to communicate that she’s a dreamer than what they are doing. It’s a half baked attempt at best at worst it comes off insensitive.
I’m going to leave it there because I’m starting to feel like this again when it comes to this dumba** show
