She said I either tell you to not smoke or-" Thomas stopped as he felt a shiver run down his spine, both men turned towards the door only to find you with the food in your hands on a tray. 

You approached them and placed the food in front of them. The air was cold, John swore he could have cut the tension with a spoon.

"I told him he either asks you not to smoke or I will seriously question his position as the leader, as all leaders should be listened to and respected. And if he is not able to do so, then I shall take his place. So, you are not allowed to smoke John." John nodded, not even daring to look at you.

"Th-Thank you for the meal." John said.

"I know I can be a handful since I'm with child, I feel the change in myself, the doctor said it was hormones to blame, but I seriously hope you do not plan on talking our dear Johnny's ears off with my silliness, Dear Thomas. He doesn't have to know everything."

John left soon after lunch and you were now washing the dishes as Tom was reading in the living room.

Once all dishes were done, you headed into the living room, a soft song playing as he was reading in his favourite armchair. "Just how many children my Missus want?"

"I would like that. Honestly, I would like that very much. But let's see how you do after this one, then we will talk."

You hummed before you placed another kiss on his lips, letting him return to his paper as comfortable silence fell.

'"Oppenheimer" marked a few significant firsts for the main creative team involved in the film. After largely focusing on original concepts (outside of his franchise work on "The Dark Knight" trilogy, of course), Christopher Nolan pivoted towards a biopic centered on one of the most controversial individuals in American history. Similarly, star Cillian Murphy was tasked with portraying a historical figure for the first time in his career, accepting the added burden of responsibility in ensuring that his depiction of J. Robert Oppenheimer felt that much more lived-in and true to life...When it came time to do his homework and find inspiration on how to bring to life the brilliant physicist behind the Manhattan Project, Murphy looked to some rather unexpected sources.

In a recent interview, the "Oppenheimer" star was asked about the challenges of channeling the distinctive voice he used for the role and the idea of trying to copy how the real-life Oppenheimer actually sounded. While an impersonation was the last thing on his mind, it turns out that Murphy and Nolan cast a wide net of references to pull from. Among them, apparently, were figures such as Orson Welles and, of all people, Fred Rogers. That's right, the creative team looked to America's patron saint of wholesomeness to help their portrayal of the "father of the atomic bomb." Who would've thought!

A less-than-beautiful day in the neighborhood

You may have noticed over the years that, despite his very distinctive appearance, Cillian Murphy has a history as a bit of a chameleon — even within his collaborations with Christopher Nolan alone. His various performances all stand apart from each other, utilizing several different accents and mannerisms to bring such characters to life. For the talented Irish actor, it's an underappreciated facet of his work and one that he really put the time and effort to get right in "Oppenheimer." In an interview with BBC Radio, Murphy revealed the rather surprising influences that went into how he ultimately figured out his voice as Oppenheimer:

"Well, from the beginning we didn't want to do an impersonation or an impression. That's not part of my skill set at all. However, he was very distinctive in the way he spoke and that kind of timbre and that pitch that he had. It's an accent you don't hear anymore in an American. You know, it's very kind of like Orson Welles, Mr. Rogers, kind of from that same world."

"He was a reference for us! Just in terms of the tone, really. I just spent a lot of time walking around in my basement talking to myself, you know? As you do."

It's not all that surprising the actor would look to older generations of American icons to model his take on Oppenheimer after their specific speech patterns, but it likely will raise a few eyebrows to hear that Mr. Rogers ended up on his mood board. But taken together with Welles, it does make a certain amount of sense when you go back and really listen to how they talked. It just goes to show that you never quite know where your research will lead.'

I'm definitely willing to write for tommy in general but I haven't had any ideas for him yet mainly because I haven't watched the show for more than a few episodes and I don't feel like I understand his character well enough yet to write him. it's important to me to get the "voice" right and I'm working on finding that with him!

Past friends/allies who are now on Hybern's side. Irin is 550ish so anyone about 500 or older could fit this. Irin was a spare heir and thus he was expected to be his brother's right hand man, and that education included sending him to a wide variety of courts before and during the early parts of the war. He is not antagonistic to these former friends/allies because, publically, Autumn is neutral. However, Irin's persona as mediocre and unwilling to have his own opinions will be confused or suspicious at Irin's change after becoming High Lord.

A former lover of Irin's. He's taken lovers over the years but all of them came with the knowledge that this was not going to end up as a marriage. This romance could have ended amicably and the two remain friends or it could have ended with hurt feelings. Irin has recently married and this will be an interesting dynamic, whether positive or negative. Can be male, female, or nonbinary as Irin is bisexual. For new characters, I'm fairly flexible on fcs (please chat with me) but some ideas are Natalie Dormer, Olivia Cooke, Fabien Frankel, Jacob Anderson, Charlotte Hope, Cilian Murphy, Charlotte Spencer.

The betrothed of Irin's older brother, who is now deceased. Irin's older brother was the original heir to the Dawn Court. However, he, his parents, and many influential members of the Dawn Court were poisoned and then brutally assassinated at a Dawn Court banquet. Unlike Irin, Sarea, and Inaya, this character does not believe in the rebellion. In her grief, she blames the fact they didn't give into Hybern for the loss of her betrothed and place as High Lady. She could now be married to someone else and in another court. Potential fcs include Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Deepika Padukone but I'm flexible (just message me)

Bagging Seven Awards, Oppenheimer Wins Over All

Christopher Nolan’s another masterpiece, Oppenheimer has proved its worth in the Oscars 2024 by being the best movie to win seven prizes which includes best picture and best director. 

The film which also bagged Oscars for Cilian Murphy’s haunted lead performance playing the character of J. Robert Oppenheimer and Robert Downey Jr. ‘s supporting turn as a vengeful character.

“We made a film about the man who created the atomic bomb, and for better or for worse, we’re all living in Oppenheimer’s world,” Murphy said in his acceptance speech.

Sunday Storytime

It was a nice weekend with friends! On Saturday, I met my friends from a book club and we watched Oppenheimer. Us science nerds were so happy whenever a familiar name popped up on screen or when a character successfully was able to prove something. The film was gripping throughout and had moments of light heartedness as well. All the actors, I repeat, ALL of them played their parts so well!!! I loved Emily Blunt, Cilian Murphy and Rami Malek so much.

Today has been good as well. I met my school friend after 6 years and we had a good walk around a part of the city. This week felt good after months of stress.
