this a bit late but I saw ur tags on that sp easter episode gifset "not my ass pulling a stan at the tender age of six" - I'm so curious what ur easter questioning origins were 👀
i was (…am?) a lil insane growing up, like ok, I have memories of telling everyone in my kindergarten class that santa wasn’t real and wouldn’t care if they cried, bc they HAD to know the truth like, how could santa deliver those gifts in one night? why does he only give gifts to kids in america/ with enough wealth? You can still love the specials, and the holiday, the characters of the santa mythos, but believing a lie told by adults just didn’t sit right with me. also bc my parents told me he wasn’t real lol. (listen. my mom grew up very very poor. My grandma told my tias and tio that Santa wasn’t real, and only existed for the gringos with money jfkfkfjf) so. yeah my religiously zealous ass is the preface for even more religiously zealous stuff
so I grew up as a conservative christian girl that read the bible like a storybook every night, but I also have memories of questioning everything, it drove everyone crazy. I would hound my pastors after service with new questions someone my age wouldn’t usually have? I knew they thought it was kinda annoying if not mildly cute but I needed answers for every goddamn thing. Easter traditions bein one of them 😅 Now, I was raised very traditionally, as in, we examined good friday and went to a long Easter service and then, that’s it. Eggs, Rabbits were worldly, and had nothing to do with Christ, and tbh the most my fam enjoyed was the after church carne asada and the trip to walmart the coming monday to get discounted candy to munch on thru summer lolol. But I asked my classmates and teachers at school like at what point did easter become abt eggs? so if you’re not christian then, what exactly are you celebrating? You’re just doing elaborate stuff to eat candy. what’s the true purpose of the bunny? where did this originate? and everyone was like, just paint ur damn plastic egg for class Cel, you’re 6. 😂😅
Well that’s done and over with and I’m completely sane now. Also I did not paint and properly prep my first easter egg and participate in an egg hunt until last year with some friends and it was cute lol.

I’m not knowledgeable enough about the differences between American Protestantism and Nordic Protestantism to say anything deep or groundbreaking about it but hearing the way Americans talk about Protestantism makes it sound like an entirely different religion.
To be clear I’m not religious. The only thing that passed for a religious upbringing was my Religions class in high school. Like most Danes I don’t have any strong feelings about Christianity. It’s just there, Christmas is nice and we get days off from work around Easter.
But just the sentence “Protestant work ethic” as a way to explain why Americans are so overworked sounds kinda humorous to a simple Dane like me. Protestantism is the state religion in Denmark (Evangelical Lutheran to be precise) and we have the highest number of Protestants per capita in the world and yet Americans who move over here often comment on how lazy we are. We leave work early, we have an ungodly number of paid days off (most of them religious), all parents get paid maternity leave and we will break our bosses’ arms if they try to make us work paid overtime too many days in a row. I’m not saying that to brag, it’s just to illustrate what the “Protestant work ethic” looks like in the most Protestant country in the world.
This is super interesting and I need to dig deeper into why Protestantism turned out so differently in our countries.

Which Star Trek series should you start with?
The Original Series: Advantages: + The one that started it all + Has some sophisticated and socially conscious science fiction that has held up exceptionally well + The lead characters all have really good chemistry and fun to see play off of one another + It's what most people probably think of when you say Star Trek (together with TNG) Disadvantages: - It can feel very dated and kind of sexist, particularly in its treatment of women - The sci-fi and social commentary may have held up, but damn it, the special effects really haven't - When TOS is bad, it's really, really bad.
The Animated Series: Advantages: + Basically just more TOS. Disadvantages: - Basically just more TOS, but substituting extremely cheap animation for bad special effects
The Next Generation: Advantages: + Probably the most popular one at this point + The crew is full of interesting characters and they're fun to spend time with + Just really smart people solving Space Mysteries + Socialist space utopia + Geordi-And-Data! + Lots of cool sci-fi concepts and social commentary + It's what most people probably think of when you say Star Trek (together with TOS) Disadvantages: - Although not in the same way as TOS, it can feel dated at times, particularly in terms of its treatment of women and it's near complete refusal to acknowledge queerness - Without wanting to bias viewer opinion, the first season is widely considered to be pretty bad - The series makes no bones about the fact that the socialist space utopia is better than every other society that has ever existed and will reiterate this point over and over again
Deep Space Nine: Advantages: + The most popular Trek series on Tumblr + Has a complete story arc, as well as arcs for all of its characters, including the extremely minor ones + Plain, simple, Garak. The humble tailor. + Garashir, if you're into that + Seriously has a really sophisticated treatment of things like post-colonial politics, anthropology, worldbuilding, and the horrors of warfare + Just the characters in general + Is the only Star Trek prior to the 2010s to even look meaningfully at queer representation Disadvantages: - Has an absolutely massive inferiority complex with respect to TNG and this drives a few poor writing decisions that seemingly exist just to poke the Socialist Space Utopia in its eye - Introduces a space religion and then just slowly turns it into Christianity with the numbers filed off - Seems to think that sexual harassment is just a quirky eccentricity - There's no women in its writers' room, and frankly it shows
Voyager: Advantages: + Probably the clearest instance of found family in space + Lots of really good episodes + Lots of fun new characters + Strong female role models + "Set a course...for home." Disadvantages: - Continuity? I never knew her! - Probably about 90% of Trek's reputation for technobabble comes from this one series - Even less queerness than TNG. - Only like...3 characters actually get arcs. - The first few seasons lean very hard into bullshit fake "Native American" spiritualism with one of the characters - How do these guys have warp drive but can't find any water?
Enterprise: Advantages: + Chronologically the first series + 90% less technobabble + The only series to plausibly frame our heroes as astronauts...on some kind of...star trek. + Still has probably the best production values of any series + Makes alien cultures of the week feel somehow richer and deeper than other series + Faith of the Heart is good, fuck you. Disadvantages: - Oh my god, the decon scenes - Seriously, if you've ever wondered what a "sexy" series written by a 14 year old boy who's only ever seen a bit of scrambled softcore porn on late-night cable would be like, this is the show for you - Somehow feels more sexist and racist than the show from the '60s - Seriously, the POC characters mostly exist to fill seats on the bridge; the women constantly have to undress themselves - Hellooooo, Bush II-era political analogies - Scott Bakula is a good actor but you wouldn't know it from this series - In season 3, they add a tambourine beat to Faith of the Heart and ruin it
Discovery: Advantages: + Noticed the lack of queer characters in the first 50 years of Star Trek canon and decided to make up for lost time + Seriously, the "Bury Your Gays" tally for this series is like...negative two + Just incredible representation in general + Some really good science fiction plots, particularly in later series + Some really fun, memorable characters + It's still running, so it has an active fandom on Tumblr Disadvantages: - Makes Elon Musk out to be one of the great visionary geniuses of history - Not really representative of Star Trek as a whole - The series swerves wildly in tone because of constant, behind-the-scenes churn in the writers' room - Offputtingly grimdark first season - Let's be honest, none of the season-long arcs have actually had satisfying conclusions - Half the cast feels like it's just there for exposition and to be killed for cheap drama
Picard: Advantages: + Has the best dramatic acting of any Star Trek series by a fair margin + Has the best musical score of any Star Trek series + Introduces a whole crew of fascinating new characters + Introduces all kinds of fascinating transhumanist concepts + AGNES. JURATI. Disadvantages: - You know all of those fascinating new characters that I mentioned? Yeah, it unceremoniously gets rid of all of them to bring back the old TNG gang. - You know that all of those fascinating transhumanist concepts that I mentioned? Yeah, it gets rid of those too so that to give us some generic action - Oh my god, someone teach the set designers to operate a fucking light switch - Grimdark - Nossssstalgia - Each season is basically unrelated to every other season - Depends so heavily on TNG that its final season is basically unwatchable if you haven't already seen a 30-year-old TV series
Lower Decks: Advantages: + It has probably the most efficient storytelling that I've ever seen; seriously, it's incredible how much it can fit into a half hour episode + It has a bunch of delightful, archetypical characters you get to know and love + You like hanging out with these people + The ship is kind of crap and you will learn to love it that way. + Basically a sitcom version of TNG. + Has a big fandom on Tumblr Disadvantages: - The art style is pretty Rick & Morty-ish - It takes most of its first season to really strike a good balance between being a sitcom and being a Star Trek series - The main character, Mariner, is kind of unlikable for the first season or so (she gets better) - Lots of callbacks to other series (though always either incidental or clearly explained) - Given that it's the first Star Trek sitcom, the comedy is honestly kinda the weakest part? Subjective I know.
Prodigy: Advantages: + Absolutely gorgeous to look at; the most visually stunning Star Trek by quite a ways + Lots of fun new characters on a cool ship + Gives you clear on-boarding notes to the Star Trek franchise if you're watching it for the first time + Can be watched on its own, but also works as a direct sequel to Voyager and a prequel to Picard (making both of them retoractively better, in fact) + Kind of like the Clone Wars or Rebels of the Star Trek universe, I guess? + Found family in space! The next generation! + Soon to be running on Netflix, so if you already have a Netflix subscription, you don't need to pay for another service + Written for a younger audience. Not necessarily an advantage, but nice if you happen to like family friendly animation or YA. Disadvantages: - *sigh* You basically need to pirate it. Thanks, Paramount. - Has a second season that we may or may not ever actually get to see even through piracy. Thanks, Paramount. - Isn't airing on the same streaming service as all of the other ones. Thanks, Paramount
Strange New Worlds: Advantages: + Basically what the original series would be if it were released today, rather than 57 years ago; all of the cool, socially consciousness sci-fi adventure, none of the weird 60s sexism + Fun, awesome characters you get to like spending time with right away + Incredible visuals + Nifty sci-fi concepts, mostly without the 90s-style technobabble Disadvantages: - A huge cast with only ten episodes a season, so many of them feel underdeveloped - Unfortunately, a bunch of its characters are younger versions of the characters from The Original Series, and they hog most of the spotlight; and the characters whose futures aren't locked in stone are kind of treated as disposable - In general, it needs to spend less time being a prequel, and more time being its own thing - "What if Starfleet ran into the Xenomorphs from Alien?" "Well, they'd probably kill them." "Okay, let's spend several episodes on this."

Jokes aside, I’d argue Belos isn't openly homophobic because there's no point to it; There's no point in trying to 'redeem' witches and demons by changing their lifestyles if he's convinced himself they're all going to Hell anyway, so the only thing he needs to do is kill them. "Why bother teaching them anything if you can just wipe them out?"
Belos only changes aspects of witches' lives that are directly necessary to his plans; In this case, applying sigils by justifying the lack of them as 'wild magic', and then keeping magic divided with different covens so they can't easily rebel against the system that's applying sigils, thereby allowing it to keep doing that and marking as many targets as possible for the draining spell. It's really quite simple. That's why he'll refuse to replenish the Palistrom forests but then promote women like Hettie and Terra to coven heads; Because Hettie and Terra will be killed by the draining spell anyway, but Palismen won't be.
And let's be real... He's a Puritan white guy. He absolutely believes that queerness is inherently a threat to society not just on a spiritual level but a biological one, because it discourages people from making babies because they're more focused on partners of the same sex they can't reproduce with. He probably thought Boiling Isles queerness was contributing to an inevitable decline that he merely hastened and that's why he allowed it. And Belos can't be openly bigoted because people wouldn't listen to him that way.
He's also definitely racist. Belos making an 'exception' for Luz is totally meaningless because white racists make exceptions for brown and gay folk all the time, while still clinging to their beliefs. Luz just happened to be the only human around since centuries, and that's better than no humans because the lowliest one is still above the greatest demon. And he still tried to murder Luz when she didn't flatter his white savior complex, and didn't adhere to his idea of what a proper human should be.
Even if Belos didn't try to kill Luz... Genocide isn't just murdering people. It's also erasing a culture, such as when white people assimilated Native American children, forcing them to convert to Christianity and dress like white people and speak only English, under the claim that they were 'civilizing' them. So even if they were alive, it was still genocide and it was still racism in the form of the White Man's Burden.
He was a white boy raised in a colony, everyone would've taught him that the indigenous people were 'savages' and Philip not only devoted his life to exterminating an entire culture he deemed evil and demonic, but actively enjoyed it too. Why would he stop at brown humans, unlike Caleb who already unlearned one major prejudice of his. If he never learned of the Boiling Isles, he'd have gone after women in Gravesfield (which would've been misogynistic in practice regardless of Philip's intentions), and probably Native Americans too because his witch hunting games are no different than Cowboys VS Indians.
Like I dunno man these white racists do have fellow white people they care about, and are willing to make exceptions and humor brown women too. But they're still racist and will refuse to listen to those people when called out over their bigotry, and ultimately choose that. Any argument that Belos wouldn't be guilty of other human prejudices is purely wishful thinking, and fairly contradictory to his characterization and whole narrative.
And we can wax poetic about why Belos doesn't openly disparage Luz for being brown, queer, and/or a girl, but we know the real reason why; It's because Disney censors would throw a conniption over portrayals of bigotry, and the show was already shortened for 'not fitting the brand'. Look at how Texas banned critical race theory. They think discussing racism is inherently racist, kinda like Twitter users. But with the added difference that they know it's a callout of the people running corporations and the government and investors (AKA themselves) and they hate that.
This kinda gets me back to an earlier point I made; I think the fundamental disconnect fans have with the show over Belos is that Belos stans (not necessarily fans) recognize their character's backstory and motives are something gross that can't be romanticized, and that's why they work so hard to reframe the focus towards Philip's dynamic with his brother Caleb, emphasizing codependency, and religious suppression and guilt. Because they can romanticize that, but not the intentionally pathetic core of Belos' character (itself a satire of certain subgroups).
They're seething over the reminder that their sexy aesthetic will always be second-banana to a 4channer complex, and salty that the crew chose to discuss something topical instead of making a sexyman villain, because their complaints can be boiled down to tastes and preferences, not actual objective critique. That's also why they claim the finale 'retconned' Belos and stripped him of nuance, because all the show really did was just frame and acknowledge his desire to be right as cowardly and selfish, instead of flattering him with tortured abandonment angst over a brother he never cared enough for. As if we didn’t have the ghosts in the previous episode for that purpose.

Hi I was listening to one of the first episodes on your podcast, i'm interested in witchcraft and wicca. You mentioned how wicca was mostly created by Gardner. So like what about the concepts of god and goddess? Is this something that he just made up? But then people believe still knowing he made up? I just don't get.
You also mentioned that his book is not good for beginners. What about Doreen Valiente book you mentioned "witchcraft for tomorrow" is that a good book? From your description she seems more honest, so the book interested me
So we'll answer this backwards -- while I have a deep respect for Doreen Valiente, her books aren't that great either (especially for a beginner). If you want a solid, beginner Wicca book I still recommend Scott Cunningham's Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner paired with Margot Adler's Drawing Down the Moon for context. Valiente was a much better poet than she was a teacher, and we have much better sources out there now.
As for the the question are the Wiccan God and Goddess "something that [Gardner] just made up?" I guess my response is that it depends on your point of view? When Gardner put the form of Witchcraft that became Wicca to practice and paper, did he come up with the God and Goddess on his own? Sort of. Clearly he was inspired by earlier sources, but he was putting down what made sense to him personally.
Now some people think that somehow makes this conception of divinity less legitimate, because even most Wiccans think of Gardner as "just some guy." But I think that's way too simple a view.
Like I came to my understanding of divinity on my own, and found that Wicca lined up with what I already believed. What you will find most often in Wicca is that there is an extremely wide variety of beliefs about the actual nature and form of the God and Goddess. We don't have scripture, there is no authority. This leads to a diversity of understanding of divinity some people aren't necessarily comfortable with. The witch themself has to make some of their own decisions on this.
Something to keep in mind about Wicca is that it is far more orthopraxic than orthodoxic. Most Americans conceptualize religions from a purely orthodoxic perspective, where a religion is defined largely by belief and faith, because that's how Christianity works. Orthopraxic religions are far more defined on how they're practiced. Things like our rituals, holidays, ethical rules (the rede) -- those are largely what make things Wicca.
Hopefully that was helpful.

It’s not a secret Spencer Reid loves Halloween.
The cool thing about Halloween is that it's a uniquely American holiday. Despite its obvious origins in the Celtic festival of Samhain and the Christian “All Saints’ Day”, it really is a melting pot of various immigrants' traditions and beliefs.
It became a little more commercialized in the 1950 with “trick-or-treat”.
Today it rivals only Christmas in terms of popularity.
He said those notions so many times to the rest of his team-mates and made sure everyone knew how much he loved Halloween.
Spencer follows Emily inside Rossi’s house. “People would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts. Isn’t that cool? How has fire always been a symbol of cleansing? Many people think of fire as an energetic reset button, a force that can burn through anything that no longer serves you or is there to help you!”
Emily takes off her long black coat, revealing a dark red dress she put on because apparently Rossi wanted to throw a masquerade party or something – Spencer was even more excited about that, because he put on his favourite costume.
An Edgar Allan Poe outfit that has been hidden in his closet since forever.
“Spencer, I appreciate your Halloween facts, but tonight I just want to have a drink and not think about ghosts.” – Emily tells him, patting him on the shoulder – “I promise you: tomorrow I’ll be all yours, you can tell me whatever you want.”
Spencer gives her a reassuring smile, nodding his head. “I’ll hold you to that.”
The rest of the team is already in Rossi’s backyard, no matter the low temperatures. Everyone is dressed up as monsters or book characters – Luke didn’t spend that much time thinking about his outfit, mainly because Roxy decided that his Frankenstein mask would be a delicious part of her dinner so he went with a simple vampire outfit.
Penelope, with her orange hair and pointy hat, is dressed up. Matt, with a lot of kids and a quite creative wife, ended up getting dressed as the Slender Man – long white sleeves with long white fingers, a tight black suit and that sparkly red tie around his neck.
Rossi didn’t dress up at all, no matter being the host who actually wanted this kind of party.. which bothered Spencer a little too much.
The young doctor, fixing the hat on top of his head, walks over to the owner of the house.
“Hey, why aren’t you dressed up? I thought we were going to have a Halloween party!”
Rossi looks at him up and down, crossing his arms to his chest. “Because I wouldn’t want to overshadow anyone, Spencer. You know my costume would be the best one here.”
Spencer can’t help, but chuckle at his colleague’s joke. “Ah, it’s a shame. I wanted to see your outfit!”
“Well, not today. I didn’t even come up with this dressed-up party anyway. My niece did.”
Spencer is puzzled. Did Rossi just admit he has a niece?
“Your niece?”
That’s the first time Rossi ever mentions the existence of a niece. At first Spencer thought he was talking about Joy’s children – maybe she had another baby! – but they’re not here, so it can’t be possible.
“Who mentioned me?”
Your voice echoes through the stairs as you climb down, making sure you don’t fall down on your own face. Your heels are high – they’re part of your outfit, which is why you’re not going to take them off unless it’s to go to bed.
However, you hate them right now. And you’re tempted to kick them away.
Spencer turns around and spots you, struggling to walk down while also holding the edge of your skirt so that you don’t trip on your own feet and the dress.
If he forgets how to breathe, it’s not a surprise.
You look absolutely breathtaking with your hair slightly pulled back, dark black makeup around your eyes and lips as red as blood.
Spencer doesn’t know what your outfit is about, but he doesn’t care; as long as he can admire you with it on, and hopefully without it on.
“Yes, niece. You.”
You hum, gripping David’s arm. “Oh, shut up. You told me that you were going to dress up but bailed on me last minute! And Krystall suggested throwing this party, I just sent the texts.”
Rossi rolls his eyes, patting your hand with a smile.
Spencer holds back a laugh, covering his mouth with his own hand. He doesn’t know who you are because he has never seen you before, but he’s definitely starting to like you or at least be slightly interested in you. You are so gorgeous, he’s not going to deny it, but you’re also incredibly bubbly.
And he has just seen you. What are you going to do to him in an hour? Or two?
“Young lady, you’re here because...”
“You missed me too much and you wanted me to come over to meet your team in hope I find myself a partner. I know!” – you exclaim, rolling your eyes before turning your head to look at the young man in front of you – “Ah, you must be Doctor Spencer Reid.”
David puts a hand on his forehead, shaking his head as he walks away. If he stays there, he’s going to witness Spencer melting into your bubbly personality – and he doesn’t really care about witnessing two people flirting with each other.
His plan is already working because he could see how Spencer kept staring at you. And you probably told Rossi that you might have looked up the cute Doctor in his team, which led him to make the decision to invite you over to his mansion to celebrate Halloween.
Maybe...
Maybe Dave’s plan was to actually get you and Spencer to like each other.
After all, he’s the only single in the team.
Luke is with Penelope, Matt is married just like JJ, Emily has a girlfriend and Tara is starting to reconcile with her ex girlfriend. They’re all taken but the young and pretty Doctor Reid – David thinks he’d be perfect for you.
“It’s very nice to meet you, Doctor Reid.” - you say with a huge smile on your face, holding out your hand before pulling it back - “Ah, wait. You don’t like shaking hands. My bad.”
Spencer can feel his cheeks heating up as soon as your eyes meet. David has probably talked to you about him many times - and he had, which made Spencer seem so incredibly attractive and interesting to you.
Usually Spencer is much more nervous around pretty girls like you, but he’s dressed up as Edgar Allan Poe and it’s Halloween night. He feels different, a little more blunt than usual.
Or maybe not, because he keeps fidgeting with his hands.
“I didn’t catch your name, sorry.”
“Y/N. I’m Y/N.”
Spencer bows his head down for a second, taking off his hat. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Y/N. I feel like I should bow to you because of your outfit.”
You giggle.
Spencer’s heart drops in his chest. He made you giggle and that sound was so heavenly, as if a God came down from the sky and caressed his cheeks.
“It’s just a little something I whipped out in a hurry. Unfortunately they lost my luggage at the airport. I had to borrow Krystall’s clothes.” - you mumble, straightening your dark skirt - “They’re comfortable, though! I should dress up like this on a daily basis.”
“They didn’t steal your makeup, though.”
You shake your head, stepping down the last stair. “Exactly! I was so relieved. I’ve spent much more money on makeup than all my clothes. It would’ve been a disaster to lose my beauty bag.”
Spencer stares at you in silence, taking in all of the details of your beauty.
Perfect lips, perfect hair, perfect eye shape, perfect voice, perfect in general.
There’s nothing he doesn’t like about you and it’s weird because he has just met you, but he can’t keep his eyes off you. You don’t mind at all, you like being admired, and you’re definitely hoping Spencer will admire you much closer than this - and not in front of anybody else.
“Wow, everyone is dressed up.” - you whisper, glancing at the rest of David’s team in his backyard - “I can’t believe I was so convincing with that text.”
“You used David’s phone for real?”
You shrug, running your fingers through your hair. “I may have done that. I’ve never celebrated Mischief Night before, so this was my chance to do so. And here we are! Look! You’re dressed as Edgar Allan Poe, I’m dressed as Lilith!”
Spencer doesn’t say anything, but his whole body is reacting positively to your answer. You know who Poe is, you know that Spencer has dressed up like this, you wanted to celebrate Mischief Night - which means you like that holiday, and probably Halloween as well.
Maybe Spencer has found his soulmate.
“Why are you looking at me like that?”
Spencer blinks, focusing on your face again. “Huh? Sorry, I was…”
You give him a smile, pointing to the backyard. “Let’s just go, I’m hungry and I want to show off my makeup. I didn’t spend two hours putting this makeup on just to stay locked inside of a room. I need to show it off!”
Each time you move around the living room, either to fill your glass with wine or have a smoke with David in his backyard, Spencer has his eyes on you. No one can blame him because you are absolutely adorable, with all of your interesting and fun anecdotes on your holidays in the Rossi’s mansion with Krystal, Joy and her son.
No one was expecting Rossi to have a “found niece” at all, if they had to be honest.
However you are a beautiful surprise and David is happy that he has finally introduced you to his whole team, because he could see how ecstatic and at ease you were for the whole dinner. You tried your best not to ask them what was the most wicked and naughty thing they saw while working on a case – you were hoping to have this discussion during another moment of the night, and not while you were eating, but you were too excited.
As JJ and Luke spoke about the last most gruesome case, Spencer couldn’t keep his eyes off you the whole time. You looked like you were having so much fun hearing about Emily or David being disgusted in front of remains or blood, because you never thought David was this sensitive over bodily fluids.
Either way, you listened to every single person in the team speaking about their most disgusting moment over the years and you laughed each time with all of them.
You felt like you were a part of this team, as if you knew them for your whole life.
It’s not easy to find people like these, people you can connect with in the blink of an eye. You feel proud of yourself for convincing David to throw this little party, because now you feel incredible.
Maybe it’s the wine...
Anyway, it doesn’t matter.
Penelope has already given you her number, which means you’ll get to hang out with her and gossip every single time about who-knows-what. Luke has found out that you are a dog lover, which means you’ll get to spend a few dinners at his place to play with Roxy and take her out for a walk whenever Luke will ask you to.
And since you love cats as well, Penelope will let you play with Sergio.
Spencer didn’t speak much throughout the dinner. You were expecting him to spit out more interesting facts about every single person’s costume at this table, but he kept his mouth shut and listened to the others talking.
At first you thought it was because of your presence right there at the table, but then Penelope kicked you with her shoes without the others seeing, and you noticed Spencer staring at you as if he was about to eat you.
You’d probably let him.
Before the whole party started, you were getting ready in the bathroom of the guest room when David came by to ask you how you were doing. You showed you all your makeup as he sat on the edge of the bed and you blabbed about how nervous you were to meet his colleagues, but also how excited you were to finally see Doctor Reid.
When David talked about him for the first time, you couldn’t believe a person like that could exist: a lover of nature and books, obsessed with coffee, graduated to a bunch of different things (you don’t know how he managed to study such a disgusting subject as physics!), a professor.
David talked about Spencer as if he was his son, with such a tenderness and kindness that he has shown to you over the years. You and Spencer were like his children, David loves both of you so dearly.
Which is exactly the reason why he thought it was a good idea for you to meet Spencer.
David didn’t tell you that he was planning on making you meet him because he wanted you to be with him, but he didn’t need to say that. He thought you’d be the perfect match for Spencer: no matter your hate for physics, you had a lot of things in common.
Both of you love books.
Both of you are professors.
Both of you are obsessed with Nature.
Both of you have a very dark apartment with books everywhere.
Both of you go stargazing whenever you can.
Both of you spend hours inside of a library just staring at books in order to pick one to take home.
Both of you love lavender scent candles or incense.
Both of you are quiet, but extremely endearing and adorable.
However, you’re an extrovert and Spencer is an introvert. You’re louder and you love going outside to meet new people no matter your quietness, while Spencer would rather stay at home and watch a Russian movie than meeting others.
It’s not like David wanted to change Spencer, absolutely not. He just thought you’d be his better half in a way to complete him, somehow. Everything he doesn’t have, you do. Everything you don’t have, he does.
It’s like the last two pieces of the same puzzle fitting together.
You didn’t know David’s plan at first, but you realised it as soon as you walked down the stairs to meet Spencer Reid’s chocolate eyes. You knew he was going to come over, which is why you made sure to be extra-perfect for the party, but you never thought you’d catch his eyes looking at you or your body the whole night.
Spencer doesn’t know that you were looking at him in the same exact way, with probably the same exact purpose: you want him more than anything and you’re determined to have him. It doesn’t matter where or when, you know you’ll have him however you want and wherever you want.
Maybe not tonight, maybe not tomorrow but you will someday.
“Why did you convince Dave to throw a little party the day before Halloween?”
Spencer’s smooth voice captures your attention, forcing you to turn around. You’re met with a pair of chocolate eyes that leave you completely breathless: he looks so fucking hot like this, with the first three buttons of his white shirt completely opened and the hat long forgotten.
His unruly curls look so soft, you wonder how it would feel to run your fingers through them.
He’s lingering on the doorstep, watching the grey smoke from your cigarette vanishing into thin air. You shrug with a little smile over your lips, putting your free hand over your hip.
“It’s Mischief Night, Spencer!”
His eyes brighten up. “You know what it is?”
You widen your eyes, nodding. “Of course I do! I don’t really celebrate it, but I thought it’d be nice to switch things up for me.”
“Did you know that the term ‘Mischief Night’ was first used in Britain and not here in the US? It didn’t mean October 30, it was actually the day before May Day. – Spencer explains, taking a step further and closing the door behind his back – Young people played practical jokes, such as switching shop signs, overturning water tubs and trapping people inside their houses.”
You let out a low chuckle, inhaling through your cigarette before blowing the grey smoke out. “That’s very interesting, Spencer. I used to play pranks on people all the time when I was a child. It wasn’t really a tradition for me, I thought it was normal because all the kids in my neighbourhood would do it.”
His eyes are not leaving yours. “Pranks?”
“Hm, yes. I used to throw eggs at my neighbour’s car, even though that wasn’t really a prank. I hated that man with every fibre in my body because his kid stole my dolls. I had to get back at him somehow, but then his kid moved away while the neighbour stayed behind.”
“Ouch, that’s pretty sad.” – the young doctor mumbles, pointing to the chair underneath the gazebo – How about we sit there?”
You don’t answer him, simply walking through the plastic curtains before sitting down on one of the chairs that were previously occupied by you and David.
“I wasn’t really nice at the time, it’s long gone.”
“I bet you’re not nice either now.”
You raise your brow, smirking. “Oh, I’m definitely still a bad girl.”
Spencer chuckles, shaking his head. He got you exactly where he was hoping to get you, but he doesn’t know that you’re a much better player than him.
When you want someone, you get them. And you get them begging, whining, moaning, panting, withering underneath you until they’re a weak, pathetic little mess that you love to play with.
You’re excited to see how Spencer will be by the end of the night, if something happens.
“Can’t wait to see that, honestly.”
His words throw you off track because you were not expecting them, and when you turn your head to look at him, you realise that he wasn’t expecting them either. His eyes are widened and his mouth is slightly opened, while his right hand is ready to cover it. You don’t know if he said that and now he’s acting weird because he wants to see your reaction or because he’s really shocked by his own behaviour, but you’re definitely amused.
Ah, this cute little man will be the death of you. You can’t wait.
“So eager to have me in your bed, aren’t you?” you roll your eyes
As much as you’re amused and you’re curious to see what he’s going to do, you want to push him just a little bit. Teasing someone and then leaving them hanging is the best, especially if you get to see their shocked expression on their face as you walk away while they need to cover their little problem.
Tonight you feel nice, though, so maybe you will help this someone with his problem.
“I, uh... I’m sure your bed is much more comfortable than mine.”
You crush the butt of your cigarette inside the ashtray. “Should we try it so we can compare them?”
You can see Spencer gulping, his eyes scanning your face as if he’s trying to understand whether you’re joking or not. You were just teasing him – or maybe not. Definitely not, because you’re quite curious to see how he’d react with your legs spread open just for him and your fingers playing with yourself while waiting for him. After all, you’re a Goddess tonight – which means he will need to worship you, kiss every inch of you and savour the taste of your skin.
“Or we can stay here and look each other in the eyes until someone gives in.”
You put your right hand underneath your chin and lean forward, staring into those beautiful eyes that immediately look away from you. You don’t know if he pulled away because you made him uncomfortable by being so close to him or by your words; either way, you feel bad because this wasn’t your intention. You were just playing, but maybe you played too rough with him.
After all, he’s the “baby genius” of the group – as David always said.
You wonder if Spencer could give you a baby genius.
The thought makes you smile.
“The others will hear me.”
His answer comes as quickly as the quick movements of your eyes on his face. Spencer is thinking about your proposition, which makes you squeeze your legs together.
“They won’t if I keep that sweet little mouth of yours occupied, don’t you think?”
Spencer struggles to look you in the eyes, terrified that you might see the desire flashing behind his and going straight to his groin. He has been trying to hide that little problem for the past hour. He thought that coming out here and talking to you innocently would’ve helped him stop thinking about you riding him, but it didn’t. Nothing helped.
“Do I have a sweet little mouth?”
You hum, chuckling at his blushing cheeks. “Of course you do. You have the prettiest lips I’ve ever seen. I bet they’re soft, too.”
Spencer lowers his eyes, blushing even more at your compliments. How can he react like this just because of a few words? You haven’t even touched him or told him how you’re going to want him to touch you, and he’s like this?
Hard and needy?
You find him adorable, but pathetic as well.
You’re going to break this boy down piece by piece and you’ll love it.
“I’m not going to kiss you right now because I probably won’t be able to stop.” – you mumble, placing a hand over his knee – “I’ll tell David I’m not feeling too well. You know where the guest room is.”
You stand up before he could open his mouth to answer you and you leave him outside, gently approaching your uncle. Placing your hands on his shoulder, you wait until he finishes talking about the last time he went to Italy and ended up taking the wrong train, with no money, no clean clothes.
You’ve heard that story so many times and it’s still so funny, because you were right there with him. You were the other person that lost their luggage on holiday and ended up having to buy everything inside of a supermarket, along with Krystall.
It was weird, but so worth it.
When David is done talking, you tap him on the shoulder and you lean forward. You whisper in his ear that you feel a bit lightheaded because of all the alcohol you have drank the whole night. He touches your hand, looking at you worried.
“I’m sorry, pumpkin. Do you need me to do something? Do you have your medicine?”
You nod your head, smiling softly. “Yes, thank you. I’ll come back when I feel better.”
Kissing his forehead, you tap his shoulders again and then you apologise to the rest of the guests, excusing yourself out of the room.
You don’t like to interrupt a party to announce that you’re not feeling well, especially if it’s a lie, but you’re not going to turn the chance of having Spencer all over you down. It’s what you’ve been waiting for since you saw him at the bottom of the stairs, looking up at you as if you were the most precious creation on Earth.
David glances at Spencer stepping inside the living room with his cheeks totally flushed and his eyes down on the floor. He doesn’t know what happened outside and, honestly, he doesn’t want to know, but he could see how you affected Spencer.
You weren’t the only one who noticed his hungry eyes on you the whole time.
The rest of the team, especially Penelope and David, did.
“Hey kid, are you alright?” Luke calls out
Spencer clears his throat, facing the rest of his team. “Hm? Oh yeah, everything’s fine. I was just looking for some, uh, water. I’m thirsty.”
Penelope holds back a laugh when David glares at her.
There’s no need to embarrass Spencer any further because he’ll be done as soon as he not-so-subtly asks if he can use the bathroom upstairs.
“Are you sure you don’t want a glass of wine?” Emily asks
Spencer shakes his head, heading to the kitchen. “No, I’m good with water. Thank you.”
Luke takes a sip of his wine, leaning against the chair. “What’s going on?”
Spencer ignores his question, opening the fridge inside the kitchen to grab a bottle of water. He needs it because his mouth is so dry due to his nerves. He knows he’s acting weird and the rest of the team probably understood what’s actually going on, while you don’t have a clue.
Upstairs, you’re taking off your shoes.
You wonder what Spencer has told the team to cause this silence and you start to get nervous, because maybe you shouldn’t have been so eager to have Spencer with you. You don’t want anybody to know what’s going to happen in your bedroom if he shows up, so you hope Spencer doesn’t mess things up for you.
You don’t really want David to give you the “you can’t have sex with my colleagues in my house” talk, even though he’ll probably say something tomorrow morning – or in the next few days you’ll stay right there.
Knock. Knock. Knock.
Startled by the sound coming from the door, you almost drop your phone on the floor, but you manage to put it on your nightstand. It’s incredible how fast he was, but you don’t blame him: you’re as eager as him.
Straightening the skirt of your black dress, you head to the door. You hoped you’d have enough time to undress.
You open the door.
“Hi.”
Spencer stands in front of you, his eyes not leaving yours. “Hey.”
You grab him by the red tie around his neck, pulling him inside of your bedroom. He closes the door behind his back and his mouth immediately covers yours, making you stumble as you try to get back over to your bed.
Okay, you were definitely not expecting Spencer to be like this.
You were not expecting him to kiss you as soon as you opened the door, but you don’t complain. You wanted to do this when you were outside on the patio, so you’re grateful he has made the first move.
His hands slide down over to your thighs, gripping them as you gasp against his lips.
“We have to be quick, I told them I was going to the bathroom.”
You nod without interrupting the kiss, biting his bottom lip. You will be as quick as you can, hopefully he’ll be as well – you’re not sure if you’re going to have enough time to actually have sex with him right now, but there’s no rush.
“Then, let’s get to it.”
Spencer gets on his knees almost immediately, not giving you the time to enjoy the last kiss he gave you. The sight in front of you is just as hot as you thought it would be.
“Don’t make a sound.”
You roll your eyes, sitting on the edge of the bed. “So bossy.”
His eyes widen at your words, biting his bottom lip. He didn’t mean to make you mad – he’s terrified of you not giving him what he craves the most.
“I’m not, I just... don’t want the others to know what I’m doing.”
You run your fingers through his hair, gripping his curls. “They won’t, but put that mouth to use so it’ll be occupied.”
Spencer looks up at you for a few seconds, his lips parting as you speak to him in a tone of voice that sends shivers down his spine. You can feel and see the flashes of desire behind those beautiful lustful eyes, it’s incredibly hot.
“Go ahead, gorgeous. I’m waiting.”
His fingers slip underneath the skirt of your dress, exploring the soft skin of your thighs. You bite your bottom lip, staring at him as he makes his way under your dress to leave a trace of kisses from your knee up to your thighs.
You raise your leg and put it over his shoulders, keeping your right hand through his soft curls as you tug on them. You knew the sight was going to be delicious as soon as you met him, but this was incredibly hot – even hotter than before, when he was staring at you as if you were a painting.
Spencer is trying his best to not make a single sound, his mouth busy to kiss and worship your thighs.
You can’t really see his face from where you’re sitting so you lift your skirt, just enough to spot those beautiful pairs of eyes staring back at you.
“Hi.”
Spencer leaves another kiss on your inner thigh. “Hello Y/N.”
“Looking good over there.”
He lets out a soft chuckle, his fingers hooking up your panties before sliding them down your legs. You kick them away as soon as they reach your calves and you spread your legs, biting your bottom lip.
“Beautiful. Just as I thought.”
Blushing because of his compliments, you raise an eyebrow. “You thought about me like this?”
“Through the whole dinner.”
Spencer kisses down your inner thighs again, the gentle brush of his stubble against your skin setting it on fire. You know that your thighs will be covered in little nicks by tomorrow morning, but if this is the price to pay... you’re more than willing to spread your legs for him.
“You must have an incredible imagination, Doctor Reid.”
He worships you with his tongue, tracing it up to your inner thigh before sliding it over your clit. The sound that leaves your mouth will be forever imprinted in his mind, replaying over and over each time he’ll think about you.
“Fuck. An incredible tongue, too.” – you struggle to whisper, running your fingers through his curls before tugging on them – “Don’t stop.”
Spencer doesn’t plan to, closing his eyes and allowing his tongue to caress every inch of you and taste the sweetness of your heat. With his head buried between your thighs and your hands pulling his hair, Spencer thinks he just landed in Heaven – or where things are so perfect, a place he doesn’t want to run away from.
Normally, he would keep eye-contact with the person he’s ravishing, but today he knows he can’t do that. You probably wouldn’t mind, but Spencer wouldn’t be able to last at all – your eyes are magnetic.
It’s not even about the colour or the shape, it’s about the desire flashing behind them.
It’s a combination between your attitude, your confidence, your words... a dangerous mix that makes Spencer high alert on everything you do and say.
If he looks at you, he will come untouched. That’s it.
He can’t have that, he doesn’t want to disappoint you and no matter how quick his refractory period is, he doesn’t want to wait. He needs to be inside of you, he needs to orgasm because you want him to, he desperately craves to obey each one of your orders and watch you come undone before doing it himself.
Spencer wraps his lips around your clit, sucking it gently before you grip his hair. He knows you’re holding back those moans – the first one betrayed you, slipping out of your mouth before you could stop it. He wishes he’d be in another bedroom, maybe his; in another house, maybe his.
So you could be loud. So loud his neighbours would knock at his door and beg him to keep it quiet, which would make you and him way louder than you should be.
“Keep your eyes on me, Doctor Reid.” – you whisper, desire oozing from your voice as you move your hips against his face – “I want you to look at me while you eat me out.”
Spencer suppresses a frustrated whine, struggling to open his eyes, but managing to do as you wished. He doesn’t want to look at you, he doesn’t need you to see him completely wrecked just because of your salty taste.
You push a second pillow underneath your head, propping it high just enough so you can admire the amazing work Spencer is doing between your legs. And when you meet those chocolate eyes, you notice something strange.
His left hand is not on the bed.
“What are you doing with that hand, Doctor?”
Spencer stops his movements, pressing a soft kiss right above your clit in hope to distract you from the question you asked.
“Nothing you need to worry about.”
You raise your brow. “Are you touching yourself?”
Spencer doesn’t answer your question, burying his face between your legs again. His tongue delves deeper inside of you, making you shudder at the sensation. Your hands immediately fly right behind his head, pushing him right there where you want him the most.
He knew he was going to distract you.
He hoped so.
“You dirty little slut.” – you manage to speak, your voice broken by the pleasure amplifying more and more through your body – “Does this turn you on, Spencer? Are you hard because you’re eating me out?”
Spencer tightens his grip at the base of his cock, moving his hips slightly forward with his eyes still settled on your face. The hum he gives you in response to your question tells you that yes, he’s indeed turned on by all of this.
You don’t blame him.
Oral sex is one of the best act you could ever give or receive.
“Don’t stop.”
Spencer closes his eyes and savours your taste, gripping your thigh with his left hand and pushing your lower body towards his. You can feel yourself ready to topple over the edge, the pleasure tightening in your stomach as soon as his tongue slides up and down your clit.
You gasp and whimper at his movements, enjoying the wet sounds of his mouth devouring you.
“Spencer..”
You feel the tension snapping within you as you come, gripping his curls and tugging them even harder. Your back is arched and you don’t know for how long you’re going to be able to stay quiet, because this feels too fucking good.
Spencer doesn’t budge at your movements, his tongue relentlessly touching you, stimulating you to the point you can barely breathe.
Every cell in your body is on fire.
Then everything stops.
Spencer pulls away with his mouth and gets up on his feet, using his wet hand to touch himself. You’re dizzy and your legs are shaking because of the pleasure that ran through you, but as soon as you see him moving, you move.
“Do you want to come inside of me, darling?”
Spencer’s eyes snap wide open, staring at you with his parted lips. “Y-Yes.”
“Then fuck me.” - you mumble, gripping his tie - “Fuck me, but be quick. You don’t want the others to know what you’re doing, do you?”
He shakes his head, stroking his cock. “I don’t care.”
You giggle, sitting back up with your legs wide open. “Oh, you don’t? Do you want them to know how naughty you are? How hard are you because you ate my pussy?”
Spencer whines at your words, struggling to keep his eyes on you. “I… Please.”
“Please what, darling?”
“I don’t..” - he bites his bottom lip, pushing the head of his cock against your clit - “I can’t fuck you, I don’t have condoms.”
“Are you clean?”
You’ve never seen such a greedy man in front of you, silently begging you to let him fuck you and just come inside of you. Spencer looks incredibly beautiful, bent over towards you with his lips slightly parted and his right hand stroking his cock.
You feel your mouth water at the sight.
You lean forward, placing a hand underneath his. Spencer gasps.
“Yes! Yes, I’m clean.”
He’s so embarrassingly desperate.
“I’m clean as well.” - you tell him, grabbing his left hand - “Come on, fuck me.”
Spencer obeys, immediately pushing his length inside of you. His eyes close and he throws his head back, a soft moan echoing through the room as he finally feels the warmth of your walls tightening around him.
He didn’t even wait for you to be ready, he just wanted to get inside of you as quickly as possible.
So eager, so desperate.
It turns you on more than it should.
Spencer is glad you let him fuck you, because he wouldn’t have been able to stop thinking about it for the rest of the night. Waiting wouldn’t have been that merciful, now that you think about it.
“You feel so fucking good.”
Spencer moves his hips, lifting yours just enough to allow his cock to slide even deeper inside of you. You take all of him, adjusting to his size as you grip the bed sheets all around you.
“Fuck me, Spencer.”
He blinks, putting his hands underneath your thighs. He pushes your body closer to his, forcing you to close your legs around his waist. He doesn’t lift your whole body off the bed, but he lifts your hips.
And when the angle changes, you swear you’re in Heaven.
Spencer starts thrusting inside of you, his eyes never leaving your face because he wants to see you break down all over again. He needs to see you in pure bliss, he wants to push you off that edge again because that was the hottest thing he has ever seen in his whole life.
He didn’t think you’d let him fuck you right now.
He’ll forever be grateful for that.
“C-Close.”
You feel delicious all around him, tight enough. Spencer will dream about this for days, for weeks, for months - or until the next time he’ll be able to have you like this again.
He hopes it will be very soon.
You run your fingers through his hair, grabbing him by the tie with your other hand in order to have him closer. Spencer whines against your lips, kissing them feverishly.
“Come for me, darling.” - you whisper, the pleasure building rapidly behind your belly button again - “I want you to come inside of me, please. I need it so badly.”
You don’t know if what you’re saying makes sense, you’re too lost in your own pleasure and in the beauty of the man on top of you. The whole world stops as soon as his hands hold you down against the mattress, pinning you to the bed and preventing you from wiggling away.
You can’t do anything besides take all of him inside of you.
You wouldn’t change a thing.
Spencer doesn’t need to be told twice, feeling his tension getting tighter and tighter until it snaps, quick and hard. And he comes, painting your walls with his cum just as you follow off the cliff of pleasure with him.
It was quick, it was rough, but you wouldn’t have it any other way.
Spencer nurses your orgasm with slow thrust, riding his peak as well. Enjoying the tightness of your body all around him, he forces himself to keep his mouth shut when all he wants to do is praise you for being so fucking perfect.
He wants to do this all over again, until you can’t do anything but moan his name.
You’re still shaking because of your orgasm as Spencer collapses on top of you, his mouth attaching to your neck to nibble on it. You can feel his cock twitch inside of you and you wonder what Spencer would do if he saw the mess he has made between your legs.
It would be fun to force him to clean it up.
However, you can’t. Not now, at least.
He got hard because he ate you out, he’d probably get hard again. As much as you’re dying to have him in your mouth, you have to wait until the party's over and you can sneak out of your room to head to Spencer’s place.
Or his car.
You don’t care where you can have him again.
“Good boy, you did so good.” - you mutter in his ear, caressing his curls - “You’re incredible, Spence.”
He doesn’t want to pull away and pull out, he wants to be between your legs for the rest of the night. You feel too good right there, underneath his body with your hands touching him and caressing him.
And you smell so good.
“Thank you. You were so perfect.” - he starts to say - “So, so perfect… Wish I could have you every single day. Fuck, you felt so good.”
He keeps whispering praises to you, how much he loved fucking you and eating you out. You can see how relaxed he is now and you wonder if he’s alright, because you’ve never had someone be so dependent on you after sex.
It’s… interesting.
And fascinating.
“Thank you, darling.” - you tell him, tapping his chin - “Pull out now.”
Spencer obeys your order, immediately taking a step back and pulling out of your body. His come, mixed with your own arousal, drips out of your body, pooling right underneath you.
The sight makes him lick his bottom lip.
“Later, okay?” - you tell him, placing a hand between your legs - “Now go downstairs, yeah?”
Spencer lingers right in front of you for a whole good minute, staring at the mess he has made right between your legs. It’s incredible how just the sight gets him immediately on his knees, but you’re quicker than him.
You snap your fingers and you grab his arm, pushing him back up. “No. Not now, later. Wait for me in your car when all the others will leave, okay? I will find a way to sneak out.”
The young doctor stares at you before grabbing you by the face, immediately attacking his lips to yours. You close your eyes as you wrap your arms around his neck, standing up from the bed and feeling his come dripping down your thighs.
You hope he’s going to make another mess later.
“Okay, okay.” - Spencer says, sliding his hand down to your thighs - “I’ll wait for you.”
You don’t want to pull away from him, but you have to.
Walking him to the door, with your skirt completely raised up to your hip, you give him another peck on the lips. Spencer lingers again with his mouth on yours before opening the door, forcing you to take a step back.
You don’t want the others to see you.
“Clean up your face, darling. You look like someone who just ate some good pussy.”
You wink at him, pushing him out of the door.
It’s true, he had the chance to taste you and now he won’t think about anything else.
He should, because as soon as he gets down to the living room, everyone is looking at him.
Spencer washed his face and fixed his tie, making sure that there’s no trace of you on him. He doesn’t want the others to know that he got on his knees for you, that he buried his face between your legs, that he has just fucked you hard and fast until he had the chance to fill you up.
The thought makes him smile.
You felt so good all around him.
He loved watching you crumble along with him, because you were so tight and...
“Are you alright, Reid? Is Y/N okay?” Penelope asks
David rolls his eyes, lifting his right hand. “I don’t want to hear anything. She’s my niece!”
Spencer keeps his mouth shut, sitting beside Luke. “She’s... She’s really good.”
The party goes on for at least one more hour, then one by one, the rest of the team heads home. Spencer is the last one to leave Rossi’s mansion, not really sure whether to get out of the house and wait for you somewhere on the road or just come clean with David.
He’s a profiler, he knows exactly what is happening between you and Spencer.
Spencer made sure not to mention throughout the night, but he couldn’t stop thinking about how and how hard you kissed him. Everything you did, everything you said was so intoxicating – and it wasn’t just because you are extremely beautiful.
No, it’s just...
Everything.
Spencer can’t pinpoint exactly what he loves the most about you.
“Are you waiting for Y/N?”
Spencer blinks, turning to look at David. “Me? No, I was just...”
“Y/N!”
David calls out your name and Spencer’s heart drops to his chest, shocked by his action. He wasn’t expecting his colleague to yell your name, mostly because he was hoping no one downstairs understood what was happening just a floor up.
Apparently, they all did.
You open the door of your room, your head poking out at the top of the stairs. “Yes?”
“Spencer’s waiting for you.”
You look at him for a split second and Spencer waves at you, clearly embarrassed by what’s happening right now. You don’t blame him, you want to bury yourself with your bed sheets right now because you weren’t exactly planning on going out in the open with Spencer.
You don’t complain.
Hiding would’ve taken you minutes or at least an hour.
And you were starting to miss Spencer.
Hopping down the stairs in nothing, but a sweater and a pair of black leggings, you nod your head. You grab Spencer’s hand and place a kiss on his cheek, turning your head to look at David.
He’s not surprised.
Instead, he smiles.
“Ah, my new favourite couple.” – Krystall chimes in from behind, placing a hand over her heart – “Are you guys going out to celebrate Mischief Night all alone?”
Spencer feels like a guy who just arrived to pick up his girlfriend from prom. It’s not embarrassing, it’s just a bit unsettling so he turns to look at you – and when he does, and your eyes meet, he feels relaxed.
This is not that bad.
“Yes, there’s a Drive-In cinema not too far from here. I think we’ll go there and get to know each other.” – Spencer says, staring at you with a sheepish smile on his face – “Y/N is really interesting.”
You blush at his complement, gripping his elbow. “So charming.”
Krystall coos, nodding her head. “Alright! Have fun, guys. And enjoy Mischief Night! Be careful, there are kids egging cars around this neighbourhood.”
You yank Spencer by the elbow, running outside David’s house in silence. There’s no need to say anything, because if you open your mouth you will probably start laughing until you can even breathe anymore.
You were trying to be so secret... And it didn’t work.
It obviously didn’t work, you’re not as sneaky as you think you are.
Spencer opens the car door for you, closing it before jumping on his own seat.
“Oh my...”
He giggles first, covering his mouth.
You try your best to keep your mouth shut, not wanting to give in. This is not funny, this is quite embarrassing and you know you will never hear the end of it the day after. David’s not going to let you go so easily, and he’ll probably give you the whole speech about safe sex and how young you are compared to Spencer.
Thirteen years are not that much!
“We got caught.”
“I’m not surprised.” – Spencer says, turning to look at you as he leans forward – “I know a place we can go to be alone. No one will bother us, not even kids with their eggs.”
You nod your head, placing a hand on top of his. “So you can be as loud as you want while you watch me suck your pretty cock.”
The young doctor bites his bottom lip at your words, your hand immediately sliding from his to the bulge already forming between his legs.
He’s so easy to work up.
“Take me there.” – you tell him, placing a soft kiss over his lips – “Now.”
Spencer has never driven so fast to a place before in his life, dying to feel your mouth all over him like you just promised. He’s not going to hold back now, enjoying everything you can give him and giving you even more than he could do at David’s house.
If tomorrow your jaw is sore and your thighs are covered in little bite marks, you don’t complain. Maybe heading to that dark place with no one around and having the young doctor have his way with you was the best idea you’ve ever heard.
You hope to celebrate Mischief Night like this every single year.

if you've watched TV in the last 3 years you've probably seen ads for a non-profit organization called "He Gets Us". their ads, their website, all of their media claims they are not affiliated with any church or left/right political agenda, they're just out to promote the unconditional love of Jesus, appeal to the younger gens, yadda yadda yadda whatever.
But if you have any experience with American evangelical organizations like I do, you know they're notorious for this kind of baiting with unconditional love and acceptance only to push their agenda once they got their hooks in you so while I've always been suspish, I never cared enough to look into it until today and LOOK who is the biggest donor to this supposedly non-political organization:
Tumblr media
HOBBY LOBBY???
you mean "we are the most shoplifter friendly store in America bc we think barcodes are the work of the devil" hobby lobby??? You mean the loudly anti-choice, anti-LGBTQ organization Hobby Lobby??? When I tell you I yelled......
And it would be just par for the evangelical course if this group's WHOLE THING wasn't supposed unconditional love and comminity, but they're being funded by one of the most politically hateful organizations in this country i just..........
It's ALWAYS political, being evangelical Christian is INHERENTLY political, and it's so fucking ironic bc Jesus Christ was supposed to be opposite and HE'S THE BASIS for their ENTIRE religion like...... just imagine fucking up such a simple concept, unconditional love for all people, so bad.
Also fuck hobby lobby SO goddamn much.

So I’ve gone back and I’ve been reading some Old Guard fic (as I try to get motivated to write the last damn chapter of my one damn TOG WIP finished so I can finally moved on), and I must admit, one silly and very minor pet peeve I have in some Nicky/Joe fics for the Old Guard that explore their Crusader days is the trope of having them go a really long time without being able to understand each other. Because based on Nicky’s path as a Crusader even getting to the Holy Land, and the various hints we have that Joe has a pretty worldly background, I would suggest they should have had a baseline to communicate already when they met and that bridging the gap would have gone very quickly for one or both of them once they committed to learning.
There’s a few reasons I find them going a really long time without speaking each other’s language (most likely Nicky picking up Arabic) somewhat implausible:
- First, just based on my own personal experience: I went through a full language immersion experience myself and yes it was painful and yes, having textbooks and classes certainly helped, but all told it was 3-4 months from almost zero before I could start doing normal things for my age group like read simple books and do homework. However, the most effective language learning program in the country, Middlebury, does a full immersion program that gets people to baseline functionality in 6 weeks. Yes, learning a language is hard and I will be the first to say that mastery takes years and mastery without immersion is nearly impossible, but if you’re completely immersed there, without options, it goes much faster. You won’t be fluent of course but you will be conversational. Also, by all accounts, being illiterate or otherwise not bothering to learn how to read and write at the same time and ONLY going for verbal communication actually makes things go even faster.
- People who pick up by speaking (rather than reading and writing) and people who speak multiple languages already tend to pick up other languages even more quickly. Once you learn one or two, a lot of polyglots don’t stop there. There is that old joke: the word for speaking three languages is trilingual, two languages is bilingual, and speaking only one language is American. Which is to say I think native English speaking writers might be the ones underestimating how quickly a language can be learned (at least to a conversational level).
- Now throw in the fact that both Nicky and Joe have been recently in multilingual societies or organizations as a requirement of their meeting during the First Crusade, no matter how you slice it. Either as both coming from a merchant trading backgrounds traveling across international (so to speak) lands, or Nicky being part of the pan-European Christian army where multiple languages would be spoken across the camp, to him possibly having a priest background which would mean Latin as well. Not to mention Greek if Nicky picked up anything while in Constantinople (if he came over land). Nicky also would have been on the road to the Holy Land, if he went overland, for as long as 3 years and in Antioch before Jerusalem.
- Now, as an admitted caveat to all of this, I’ve lived overseas and it is absolutely common for expats to live in a country for years without bothering to pick up the local language at all. There were cultural and societal reasons that European Crusaders and the Egyptian Fatimids who lost Jerusalem wouldn’t bother to learn each other’s languages or any of the common merchants tongue or other common languages like Greek to bother to talk to each other. That’s absolutely fair to invoke for why they wouldn’t have a single word of any language in common.
- However, I will say, once both or either of them decided to try, I think some writers don’t give enough credit for how quickly one or the other would pick a language up, especially if it’s the language of the country they’re in (basically, I think once he tried, Nicky would pick up Arabic very quickly if he’s still in the Holy Land by the time he and Joe start trying to communicate). Effort plus full immersion is probably the single fastest way to learn a language, you’d be able to have rudimentary conversations within a few months at most. Really from there it’s just a question of whose country are they in once they start talking and stop trying to kill each other.
TL;DR I will be the first to say an author should go with what makes their story work best BUT there’s plenty of historically backed reasons why Nicky and Joe should have been able to carry on a basic conversation with each other from when they first met, and not be completely stymied in communicating with each other because of a language barrier.

The level of Blood and Soil nationalism that people are trying to claim is somehow “progressive” in the replies of that Greek mythology appropriation post is bizarre! Outright claiming an Italian-American can’t possibly know what it means to be “invested in one’s heritage” simply because they mention their home state in their blog description?!?
It is tbh really disturbing how many people don’t recognize that investment in genetic ancestry + living in a place continuously for thousands of years (the combo of the two) as a marker of identity = an inherently right wing ideology. It doesn’t matter who is saying it — though hopefully it coming from Greece, a European country with a past and present history of violent fascist movements, makes it more obvious. Their ideology is literally used to deny that Asian and African immigrants have a right to be in Greece. Ancient Greek mythology is regularly imposed on other cultures as propaganda attesting to the greatness of “Western culture.” All the blogs of the people posting about that are obsessed with the idea that their ethic Greek identity living continuously in Greece somehow gives them some mystical connection to a religion their ancestors haven’t practiced in nearly two millennia. But a descendant of immigrants in the US can’t have a connection to the culture of relatives in living memory, apparently. I definitely don’t feel some kind of way about this as a black person who had their ancestors’ culture forcibly stripped from them. Being able to know that shit and have that unbroken line backward is a privilege, frankly. No wonder a lot of us over the years have had to find solace in other mythologies.
I just hope that people are using their critical thinking skills and not falling for how people are abusing the language of cultural appropriation and diversity and sensitivity to sell an inherently right wing ideology (and let’s not even go into how a lot of investment in pre-Christian European paganism, especially coming from these kinds of nationalists, is based in the antisemitism of Christianity “coming from a Jew.” Specifically when it’s coming from ethnonationalists, I’m not saying other kinds of pagans are like this). This is why I think it’s important to name specific problems when talking about cultural appropriation. When you just make it about “taking from a culture that’s not your own” without tying it into larger power structures then it just opens the door for ethnonationalist weirdos like this, claiming that people with objectively less power than them are somehow doing them harm. Or even when they claim “you can do it just do it right!” they manage to claim that people with graduate degrees in Ancient Greece are somehow “doing it wrong” purely because they have the wrong ethnicity, like Madeline Miller. How does that not reduce it to blood and soil yet again? It’s saying that only people with that blood and soil (maybe I should use the original German, Blut und Boden — I just think that makes it more obvious for people what this ideology is, you know?) can “really know,” that there’s no amount of expertise those of us of different ethnicity and geography can acquire. It’s ethnonationalism, pure and simple.
And I don’t care if I make those right wingers sad. At some point just like with stuff like “white women’s tears” you have to recognize that people’s claims of hurt feelings aren’t the most important thing when they’re furthering oppressive ideas. Maybe it’s easier for me to do this as a black woman, but I hope other people (including white people) can learn to recognize these rhetorical games so they don’t fall for it either. Someone can be sad and also wrong, even offensively wrong! Blut und Boden ideology in every country (including Greece) has a high body count.

ALICE RANDALL, on how she became a country music writer at the age of 23
Well, I decided to become a Black country songwriter and publisher. I was founding Midsummer Music because I was born in Detroit City in 1959, at the same year as Motown Records, and my father did not read books to me. He told me stories, and one of the stories he told me over and over was the founding of Anna Records that Barry Gordy's sisters had founded a year before Motown.
So he talked to me about women being song publishers and record company executives and songwriters, and I heard those stories and followed in Anna's footsteps.
On writing country melodies
I teasingly say that my melodies are so simple that when the ones I come up with, if I can sing them, the whole world can sing them, so it goes well for having hit sometimes. But I came to Nashville via Harvard in Washington, DC so I sort of took the skills that I learned analyzing the Harlem Renaissance poets and Shakespeare and Jane Austen, and I applied them to country lyrics. I love British metaphysical poetry and American metaphysical poetry, and it was alive and it was alive and hiding in country and western music, and I found it.
On race in the country music industry
The racial fault line in country is all around that theme of the past is better than the present. In much of white country, the past that is better than the present is a mythologized Dixie. In much of Black Country, the past that is better than the present, is a time in childhood where your parents were able, against all odds, to protect you, or a lost Africa before colonization that's manifest by nature.
On what makes a country song, country
Well, the equation is Celtic, that's English, Irish, Scottish ballot forms, plus African influences, plus evangelical Christianity equals country music. Don't have the Black influences, and you probably got folk music. Don't have the evangelical Christianity, and you may have blues.
It's emotional, and they're themes, the big themes of country, as far as I see it. Life is hard, God is real, the road, family, and liquor are significant compensations, and the past is better than the present.
On metaphors
Well, these lyrics, these really complicated lyrics such as, ‘Drop kick me, Jesus, through the goalpost of life,’ that's an extended metaphysical conceit. And you know what? On Beyoncé’s new album, Cowboy Carter, Bodyguard is another one of those extended, complex metaphors that we see all through country.
On Black women in country music
I feel actually a Juneteenth, which is good news at long last. Because I will be 65 May 4th, and I have been in country and western music for 41 years professionally.
When I arrived here in 1983, Charlie Pride had been to the number one spot 29 times. It was about to go up for another time. So many Black men have gotten to the number one spot.
I can't remember all their names, but literally not one Black woman performer had gotten there. There's a phrase I want to say, cultural redlining. Black women have been culturally redlined out of that.
They had not been given the economic resources to make the campaign to get there. And Beyoncé eclipsed all of that. And I can retire now with a joy that all three of the things I wanted to see, they got done.
One came in right at the last moment, wouldn't have gotten there without Queen B.
On representation and the first time she heard one of her songs performed by Adia Victoria, a Black woman
I cried. I cried. Just thinking back on it right now almost makes me cry again.
It changed the whole beginning of my book, because I knew I had to start with that moment. Over the years, I've been honored, and I tell the story. Glenn Campbell, Moe Bandy, Radney Foster, Tricia Yearwood, so many extraordinary stars had sung my songs.
But no one had ever looked like me had sung one of my songs. And more significantly, listeners thought all the heroes and sheroes in my songs were white, because the singers were white. And some of those heroes and sheroes, I had imagined them, all of them I had imagined as Black.
And I was willing and embraced people projecting their identities onto them, but I resisted the identities I had originally imagined and created being erased. And Adia Victoria added the color back to that cowboy. And 20 to 30% of all cowboys in the American West were Black and Brown, and they deserve to be remembered.
And if we don't remember them, we cannot properly encounter Cowboy Carter.

I do think the Endo community should actively stop painting everyone and every sub-group within the anti-endo/Endo critical/endo-neutrals movement with the same brush. There are different levels of harm each subgroup causes and pretending we all believe the same thing or go about syscourse the same way is exhausting.
There are plenty of smaller groups within these communities and I've honestly never seen an Endo acknowledge them or recognize that they are different with different beliefs. Not to mention, now that I think about it, "anti-endo" is a bit nebulous. Not in a literal sense but everyone you ask says something different and holds that view for different reasons. Anti-endos don't even all agree that they don't believe in endos and believing in endos is typically how it's defined. But back to the sub-groups, let's see there are;
Anti-endos that believe endos exist but dislike the community or common communal actions so they disapprove of it.
Anti-endos that don't believe in endogenic systemhood full stop
Anti endos who think endogenisism is a MUD or medically unrecognized disorder like Biid or munchousens by proxy
Anti-endos who were too harmed by the endogenic community and it's allowance of said harm to ever be ok with the community. They could believe they exist or not
Anti-endos who don't believe now but could believe later with sufficient and good evidence.
Anti-endos who think some endos exist but not to the extent shown.
Anti-endos who approve of some system origins and not others.
And so so much more. Why are all these people under the anti-endo umbrella? And! Why are terms like endo-critical, Endo neutral (even those who don't have an opinion, dont care or just don't personally feel comfortable around endos get lumped into the anti-endo label!!) often lumped in when they can mean so much on their own?? Endo-critical could just mean you don't like the bigger Endo community or that you don't believe certain aspects of what endos believe as a whole, not that you discredit the whole thing.
Endo-neutrals and those without opinions, don't care or arnt comfortable due to abuse truely get some of the worst of Endo anger. How are Endo neutrals harmful when they often acknowledge endos exist. How are they harmful when they say they don't have enough information or evidence to form an opinion. So just passively existing without interacting or explicitly supporting the Endo community is an act of aggression against it? That's fucking concerning.
I think part of it is that they are like white American Christians, they claim they are experiencing some sort of oppression and no body else believes them because they arnt. They see themselves (and by extension other "usually only online" identities like therians and other microlabels) as inherently oppressed because they are small, they think that have something similar to a very oppressed mental disorder, they have "antis" and they occationally experience misdirected ablesim because they are assumed to be disordered. It's really concerning when your personal view point sees everyone who doesn't support you as an enemy or a potential enemy.
Why? That's bigot rhetoric. Bigots don't like people who don't acknowledge them, arnt them or explicitly hate them. It's the very simple truth shared by so many forms of bigotry from racism to transphobia to sexism to xenophobia and so many others. Your not the same as me, you don't give me attention (support) and you don't like that im hurting these people therefore you are part of the enemy. That's how alot of fucking endos act. If your not Endogenic(traumagenic or singlet. They themselves constantly admit that they are wary of traumagenics aka the actually disabled due to their system folks) your immediately suspect. If you post system content or did content or anything even remotely system related but don't talk about endos/acknowledge endos or answer questions related to the Endo community or imply you support the Endo community, your suspect. If you are not actively anti-endo, you are suspect.
Of course all these things could make sense when we talk about actually oppressed groups. Disabled (did/Cdds) have every right to be uncomfortable around abled people (endos), It's suspicious for someone to be talking about different cultures and foods but only concerning white cultures and foods, if you arnt actively saying you don't like sexism or have somewhere stating you are a feminist, women might assume the worst of you. Endos, by virtue of not being an oppressed group and not inherently having a disability by virtue of their endogenisism, do not get to act and treat others like they are their oppressors. They do not get to be on guard because no one cares about them. They do not get the benefit of the doubt when they ask offensive questions. They do not have the right to pretend it is an oppression when it fucking isn't.
Its just another offensive part of that community and makes you look dramatic at best and at worst? Just another clear sign that you're pretending to have some form of disability (Cdds) without actually having it but dont want to openly lie about it. We all know your lieing and if your not? Get your shit together and get your ass in therapy so you can stop supporting pseudo science and start supporting your fellow systems in the actual system community.
It's not a shock that endo numbers decline when public visibility of did/Cdds peters out. They have record low numbers right now because it's been years since the public had some media or person with did be in the spotlight. It's not shocking that they suddenly stop talking about it and delete posts when they realize they are going to get ablesim from actual ableists and not just the actually disabled people calling them out. Your a fad. A trend. You can stop pointing to poc's cultures and practices now and offensively comparing them to you, white Endo. You can move along now.
All in all, anti-endo really doesn't mean anything and it gets thrown around with zero nuance or solid definition. Usually it means you don't believe in endos but if you do believe in them and don't like the community or don't think them and Cdds should have shared spaces or dont particularly care about them or don't talk about them or don't consider them oppressed or really just piss one of them off for unrelated reasons and happen to be traumagenic exclusively, your now a certified anti-endo. It's bullshit essentially lmao same as people who call all LGBT people groomers. It means nothing, it's a buzzword and it only matters to their other bigot friends.
So if someone calls you an anti-endo, regardless of if you actually are/identify as one, wear it with pride because it means fuck all other than you pissed off an ablesit.

the bet
Tumblr media
Summary: Christian has liked Kepa’s sister, Y/n, since the moment he met her but never had the courage to talk to her. When he makes a bet with his friends to date his teammates sister, it can only end one way.
TW: none
A/N: new mini series written with @chelseagirl98 !! we hope you enjoy 🫶🏼
next chapter (not out yet)
Christian watched as you interacted with your friends from across the room. He was sitting on one of the many couches with Mason & Ben, listening to them talk. The pair noticed their friend's eyes wandering off to you, causing them to share a smirk as they brought Christian out of his daze. They were fully aware of his crush on you.
"Mate, just go talk to her" Mason suggested, leading Christian to shake his head.
“Absolutely not. She’s Kepa’s sister. He’ll kill me” His gaze focused back on you as he spoke.
“If you just go up to her and have a conversation with her, he has no reason to kill you” Ben added.
“It’s not that simple guys. Maybe she has a boyfriend, or maybe-”
“Let’s make a deal. You go up to Y/n, talk to her a little bit & get her number, then we’ll each give you £500. Deal?” Mason spoke as he held his hand out, waiting for the offer to either be accepted or declined. Christian thought about the offer being presented to him. He was an extremely competitive person, and he didn’t want to lose a bet. He stuck his hand out and firmly shook Mason’s hand, agreeing to the bet.
With that, Christian got up from his spot on the couch and made his way toward you.
You saw him approach you, looking back at Ben and Mason occasionally as you saw them both laugh at him…boys.
“Hey Y/N, you having fun?” Christian asked as he reached you, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly and shoving one of his hands in his pockets.
The two girls you were with, both gave you a look and winked as they walked away, knowing that you had a crush on the American in front of you. His chocolate brown eyes are the kind you get lost in, his brown messy curls are the kind that you want to run your hands through. His tattooed arm made you want to trace every single design with your fingertips. The man from Hershey was purely perfect without even trying.
“Hey Chris, I guess so, are you? You seem nervous?” You laughed at him as you came out of your slight trance looking up at his figure that slightly towered over your own.
“Yeah, yeah, I’m having a good time. Where’s your brother?” He asked, looking around the crowded house, causing you to feel a slight pang of disappointment that he only came over to ask about your brother.
“Oh, Kep? He's around here somewhere…Andrea showed up about 10 minutes ago so he’s probably somewhere with her” you pointed out, looking around for your brother yourself.
The thing with Kepa is, he has made it abundantly clear that you are completely off limits to his friends and teammates, stating that you were ‘out of any of their leagues…too good for them…They don't deserve you’.
“Can I be honest?” Christian's voice broke through the music in the background, breaking you from your thoughts
“Sure” you said sweetly, taking drink of the beverage in your hand, trying to calm your racing heart.
“I’m not looking for Kep, I just wanted to find a reason to talk to you” Christian breathed out, causing a blush to spread across your cheeks. The soft pinkness filled your whole face as he looked down at you, smiling as he watched your cheeks tinge more color as he spoke.
“So what do you wanna talk about then?” You whispered, tilting your head a little as you took another sip of your drink. It was deliciously warm, inviting all kinds of positive feelings to run through your body as you swallowed the liquid down.
“I think you’re really pretty” He stated matter-of-factly, turning his gaze away from you to look at his two friends that were watching him from heir seat on the couch before quickly shifting his gaze back to you.
“Really pretty, like stunning” He continued, staring directly into your eyes as he spoke.
Your mind immediately started to process everything that had been said so far. So much that your mind couldn’t comprehend. Was this real life? Were you dreaming? Were these words meant for someone else?
Or were they meant for you?
As Christian kept gazing into your eyes, looking at every part of your face, something suddenly struck you; Christian liked you. He’d never given anything but compliments since day one. There was a fond expression hidden behind his casual exterior. When you saw it, it pulled at your heart strings.
Your heart started beating faster, feeling heat fill your chest, giving you butterflies in your stomach. You didn’t know what to say or how to react.
What if you said something wrong? How could you respond to that? Did he want to date you? Could he possibly be interested in dating you? Could this moment turn into something serious? You weren’t sure, but your mind was going haywire.
You were pulled out of your thoughts after a few seconds, smiling as you focused on the man standing in front of you.
"Thank you, Chris. You don't look too bad yourself" Your small smile fell flat, mentally cursing at yourself for saying that of all things. Chris chuckled softly as a light blush crept onto his face.
Chris turned his gaze away from yours, looking over your shoulder and towards his friends, who were urging him to make his move. He turned his attention back to you once again, inhaling deeply as he prepared himself. He stood up straighter, taking a deep breath before speaking.
“Y/N, can I ask you something?” His tone sounded formal, professional almost. The seriousness seemed to put you off guard. You simply nodded at his question. Christian took another deep breath, holding it before he began speaking again.
“Can I get your number?” He blurted out bluntly, lowering his voice and looking over your shoulder at his friends again.
"Oh uh- yeah, sure" You responded, fumbling with your phone in your pocket. You pulled it from your pocket and handed it to him. His eyes shot back to yours, scanning your features before gently taking your phone.
A shy smile crossed his face as he lifted your phone up to his eye level. He scrolled through your contacts, pausing when he came to your name. He typed in his number and saved the contact. He sent himself a text from your phone, so he could save yours later. A flash of heat traveled through your body as he handed your phone back to you. He smiled at you, nodding as he gave you back your phone, glancing briefly at his two friends that were still seated on the couch.
The duo seated far behind you were silently cheering for him, hoping for him to pursue you further. He ignored them however, giving you all of his attention. He cleared his throat, sounding as if he were getting ready to leave.
“Well, I'll text you later. See ya, Y/n" He said, giving you a curt nod before turning around and walking out of the room, leaving you alone with your blushing cheeks and the curious stares of the people surrounding you.
- Christian's pov -
As I made my way back over to Mason & Ben, my heart was racing. My palms were sweaty and my legs felt like lead weights as I slowly approached the pair.
"Why on Earth would you come back here? You were doing so well, mate" Ben asked with a raised eyebrow. I rolled my eyes and huffed before replying.
"I did what you guys said. Now pay me" They both looked at each other before shaking their heads.
"We changed the deal a little bit" I raised an eyebrow as they spoke, both nodding. I let out a heavy sigh as I waited for them to elaborate.
“You have to ask her on a date, and then you actually have to go on the date. If you do it, we’ll pay double. If not, you get nothing” I groaned at their new proposition. This was what I wanted, but certainly not the way I'd wanted for it to happen.
“Boys, I’ll get her to date me and then fall in love with me” I smirked cockily. I know that this was wrong. I know that agreeing to this ridiculous bet was wrong. I genuinely like Y/N, and if she were to find out then she’d be broken and Kepa would kill me…but they don’t need to find out…right?
“Oh getting cocky are we? Alright, on top of paying you double, if you can get her to date you and fall in love within 2 months then you can have the Ferrari of mine that you love” Ben smiled before continuing
“And if you lose, I get to choose any one of your cars” He stuck his hand out for me to shake to make the deal permanent.
This was a bad idea. It shouldn’t be going this far but as a Virgo, I have a trait of being competitive and I can’t back down from a good bet. I took a deep breath as I grabbed his hand in mine, shaking it to solidify the deal.
There really is only one way this is ending.

IF YOU REALLY LOVE ME
Tumblr media
part one part two
“well” mason said, letting his arms fall to his side, ”go ahead, explain”
all three of you stared at christian, awaiting a response.
yet, no words left his mouth as he stared only at you.
christian knew you deserved an explanation, not only for the scene that unfolded in the club but one for him walking out on you as well.
christian tried speaking, tried to formulate the right words to explain his actions but nothing would come out.
you looked at him in disbelief, eyebrows raising curiously, getting slightly irritated with the two minutes that passed by, and he still hasn't uttered a word. figuring that the man in front of you wasn’t going to speak anytime soon, you mumbled a good night to his two friends and dismissed yourself.
“i-i don’t kn-know.” he stuttered, confused eyes searching ben’s and mason’s for any guidance on the situation. his friends shared a knowing look between the two of them.
“you’re jealous, mate.” ben spoke, saying the simple sentence as if it was the most obvious thing in the world, and it was.
christian didn’t know where the line between friends and lovers had begun to blur. five months ago, you were only his neighbor, having accidentally gotten one of his packages, you had stopped by american’s house to return it. he wouldn’t say he fell instantly but his heart did jump out his chest when you flashed him an award winning smile when he opened the door.
it was four months ago, when he finally worked up the courage to invite you over, the eagles were playing and he remembered how quickly you got engrossed in the american sport. coming over the following week to discuss who you had gotten on your final fantasy team and happily gloated how you were beating him.
it was three months ago when you two had shared your first kiss, you had told him you had always dreamt of dancing in the rain and when it started to pour drastically that foggy sunday morning, christian pulled you outside to make sure your dream came true.
it was two months ago when you had proposed the idea, saying that the two of you obviously needed an outlet for your sexual frustrations, two months ago when christian first made love to you.
and it was exactly one month today when he walked out on you.
“i’m no expert when it comes to relationships, by any mean.” ben started, crouching down to be eye level with christian who now sat on the curb.  “but even i can see that you are in love with this girl. mate, i thought you were going to kill that poor fella back there.”
christian wasn’t stupid enough to kill henry, he was just going to injure him. severely.
“now, christian, if you put enough pep in your step, you’ll be able to catch her.” with an encouraging pat on the back, christian started to walk in the direction you left in.
your arms clung tightly to your side as you weathered through the harsh winds that the early morning hours of england had delivered. your heels clicked against the pavement as you made way to the nearest bus station, entering a stranger’s car didn’t seem ideal at this time of night and you assumed a walk was going to help you cooldown.
hearing footsteps behind you, you picked up your speed. you were already having the worst night possible, being kidnapped would’ve just been the cherry on top.
“i have a black belt in taekwondo, so you better be able to put up a damn good fight.” you shouted, wrapping around to face the stranger, bringing up your hands to your face in a defense stance.
however, you lowered them when you were met with christian’s apologetic experssion, rolling your eyes, you turned back around and continued to make your way to the bus stop.
“could you please stop and listen to me for a second, y/n?”
“no.”
“just hear me out, i just need two minutes!”
“no.”
“i love you!” he shouted, letting his arms drop dramatically to his side, his confession had caused you to halt your movements.
turning around angrily, you stomped your way back towards a frustrated christian. raising your right hand, you did something fueled by anger, and you connected your palm to his cheek, hard.
“you do not get to do this right now” you shove him harshly in his chest, causing him to stumble back slightly, “you do not get to act like the jealous boyfriend when you see me with another guy, you shut me out after i was honest with you!”. as soon as the other person was to catch feelings, they had to confess, something christian had suggested. you were more than happy to keep your feelings a secret but you didn’t want to lie to him when he would jokingly ask.
“oh c'mon now, you know you love me.” he had jokingly said that morning.
it was a joke for crying out loud, but your heart was currently located on your sleeve at that moment, and you said that you did, you told him you were in love with him.
“you do not get to love me christian.” you screamed, snobbing loudly as fresh tears streamed down your face. you didn’t care how you looked at the moment, more than likely had mascara smudged underneath your eyes and looked like a crazy person by on lookers.
you didn’t know where all the anger came from, there was nothing more you wanted than for him to say those words back, to finally say those words back.
maybe the anger started when he continuously sent you to voicemail as you tried to reach him to discuss what just happened.
or maybe the anger grew when he wouldn’t even utter a polite hello when he saw you at sophia’s birthday party, only acknowledging the german beauty and walking right past you.
you knew the anger wasn’t going away any time soon, you knew that it was going to be awhile before you could properly be open with another guy again. stupidly opening up your heart to the football player just for him to do the one thing you were terrified of, being abandoned.
“if you really love me, stay out of my life.” sternly saying those fatal words to him, you turned back around on your heels and continued the trail to the bus station.
a/n : i'm so sorry but i think this will be the last part, please don't hate me.

Can we all just, as a group, collectively stop pretending that the Chucky series is actually a good show?
I promise it isn’t. It’s nothing short than a literal fetish bait that you see on TikTok. I’ll admit, Don’s show was enjoyable in S1. This is no hate or coming after anyone, I’m simply stating what I see.
Not only is the plot more confusing than my gender identity, there’s clear racism in the show. Am I the only one who finds it so hilarious that Don nearly killed off almost every POC character? And only kept the one that was apart of the “main couple” thing Don is doing that’s equivalent to the foolishness they did in Highschool Musical? One of my good friends did a whole blog on it, their name is Mys and I’ll link it.
And not to mention how Don literally admitted to Jake being a self insert. Let me repeat that for those in the back — HE ADMITTED JAKE IS A SELF INSERT. Meaning that the only reason Devon is alive because he’s an extension of DON’S SELF INSERT. Don literally said that his experiences with Jake are “similar” like sir, just admit it already. And don’t get me started on the poor writing here.
Dambala and Christianity? This isn’t paganism bro, and Dambala is technically voodoo and hoodoo, and those different religions have Catholic and Christian roots and similar tools. Also, I don’t mean to point out the elephant in the room but Chucky and Tiffany are white. Hoodoo and Voodoo and the practice of Dambala is a closed practice specifically for who?? African people. And this is just the tip of the iceberg. How come nobody fucking points out how Alyvina, Lexy’s actor, gets sexualized left and right?
And so does Devon’s actor. And I would like everyone to realize that Devon and Lexy’s actors, BJ and Alyvina are technically MINORS. Zachary is an ADULT. So imagine how it must look being a minor making out with a full ass grown adult. That is CRAZY.
And I know what everyone is going to say; “Well there’s consenting so it doesn’t matter” and “Well the show had better representation, I’d like to see you do better” and worst of all “What did you expect the show to be 💀 It’s TV-14, meaning that it’s gonna be swearing, sex talk, gore” and I know what the Don apologists are probably thinking; that I’m just randomly coming after a show but it’s far from it, if you took the time to read this editorial.
And let me break it down before everyone gets to typing and removing. I’m not saying it should be all cupcakes and rainbows. I’m saying these characters should have more characterization. Devon’s confession being deleted was the worst “fuck you” decision ever. We could’ve had a chance for Devon to get characterized and show some vulnerability.
But no. Of course not.
And instead of taking a season to focus on Devon, we have a random YT character — Grant. Again, nothing for Devon. As an African American gay individual, I resided with Devon a lot and I was so confused on how he rarely has characterization. We don’t even get to see him have a grieving process!
I believe, no, I KNOW Don is using something that was introduced in Scandal, a tv show — this method is called dog whistle media/politics. It’s basically racism, sexism, homophobia, all that good stuff in a language so coded that it only affects the person they’re targeting. Like a dog whistle.
So when Don kills off POC characters, sexualizes children, doesn’t let Devon be emotional or vulnerable, IMMEDIATELY jumped into sex in S3, trust that POC and lgbtq people and creepy mfs on Reddit know EXACTLY what Don is doing. It’s a fine line between made for mature audiences and made for creepy audiences. Like the Wren situation on TikTok.
The only reason you all defend this show is because it stimulates you, in a weird, arousal kind of stimulation way or the simple fact it’s all the representation you all really have, and you shouldn’t settle for less.
For people who get stimulated by this show; It’s gross. You’re gross. Receive therapy.
In conclusion, the Chucky series by Don Mancini is not a good show. It is a cash cow, and a lengthened fetish post on TikTok. Do what you want, but I will tell you, if you enjoy that show, it’s not just because of the representation. Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.

I loved Jesus. He was my hero. More than pop stars. More than footballers. More than God. God was by definition omnipotent and perfect. Jesus was a man. He had to work at it. He had temptation but defeated sin. He had integrity and courage. But He was my hero because He was kind. And He was kind to everyone. He didn't bow to peer pressure, or tyranny or cruelty. He loved you. He didn't care who you were. He loved you. What a guy. I wanted to be just like Him.
One day when I was about 8 years old, I was drawing the crucifixion as a part of my bible studies homework. I loved art too. And nature. I loved how God made all the animals. Yhey were also perfect. Unconditionally beautiful. I was an amazing world.
I lived in a very poor, working-class estate in an urban sprawl called Reading, about 40 miles west of London. My father was a laborer an my mother was a housewife. I was never ashamed of poverty. It was almost noble. Also, everyone I knew was in the same situation, and I had everything I needed. School was free. My clothes were cheap and always cleaned and ironed. And Mum was always cooking. She was cooking the day I was drawing Jesus on the cross.
I was sitting at the kitchen table when my brother came home. He was 11 years older than me, so he would have been 19. He was smart as anyone I knew, but he was too cheeky. He would answer back and get into trouble. I was a good boy. I went to church and believed in God--what a relief for a working-class mother. You see, growing up where I did, mums didn't hope as high as their kids growing up to be doctors; the just hoped their kids didn't go to jail. So bring them up believing in God and they'll be good and law-abiding. It's a perfect system. Well nearly. 75% of Americans are God-fearing Christians; 75% of prisoners are God-fearing Christians. 10% of Americans are atheists; 0.2% prisoners are atheists.
But anyway, there I was, happily drawing my hero when my big brother Bob asked, "Why do you believe in God?" Just a simple question. But my mum panicked. "Bob," she said, in a tone that meant "shut up." Why was that a bad thing to ask? If there was a God and my faith was strong, it didn't matter what people said.
Oh...hang on. There is no God. He knows it, and she knows it deep down. It was as simple as that. I started thinking about it and asking more questions, and within the hour, I was an atheist.
Wow. No God. If Mum Had lied to me about God, had she lied to me about Santa? Yes, of course but who cares? The gifts kept coming. And so did the gifts of my new found atheism.
The gifts of truth, science, nature. The real beauty of this world. Not a world by design, but one by chance. I learned of evolution...a theory so simple and obvious that only England's greatest genius could have come up with it. Evolution of plants, animals, and us...with imagination, free will, love, and humor. I no longer needed a reason for my existance, just a reason to live. And imagination, free will, love, humor, fun, music, sports, beer and pizza are all good enough reasons for living.
But living an honest life--for that you need the truth. That's the other thing I learned that day, the truth, however shocking or uncomfortable, in the end leads to liberation and dignity.
I hope I haven't offended anyone with this article. Okay, that's a lie.

New world
Chapter one
Christian Bale John Rolfe x Female Mutant Reader
Movie: New World.
Tumblr media
I cannot believe there are John Smith x reader stories but not John Rolfe! He is a hunk! Anyway, I am done with studying and chores for the day. So, I wrote this junk. I cannot sleep despite being 12:26 am.
Being a Mutant with Telekinesis made the world a better place. You cleaned everything you imagined, thus saving wildlife. You reduced Global Warming over eighty percent.
That gave you wealth and fame. But, there was one problem. You needed heirs to continue your legacy. And you have been pestered with suitors and it irritated you.
You wanted true love and not alliance. Despite being the most beautiful young woman in the world, you were insecure. If you weren't gifted, beautiful, or rich you were sure no one wanted you.
So, you decided to go to Jamestown. A newly made city for Europeans to settle in Native American land. The King asked you to build and cultivate.
You arrived at the said place. North America was beautiful. The plants and the clear river were naturally immaculate to the tea. You might actually stay and live here. You were originally from (Country) but your parents passed away. And you were so lonely.
Gulping, you stepped off the ship and looked around. The villagers and workers suddenly stilled and then some bowed and curtsied when they saw you walking off to the flat land and away from the ship.
"Miss Name. Welcome to Jamestown." An elderly man with a pipe and suit walked up to you. Behind him trailed a young man about twenty five. You looked away immediately. Smiling at the elderly man, you nodded to him curtly.
The young man was so handsome. He had a sparse beard and shoulder length hair. Muscular and tall. With broad shoulders and expensive black leather boots which looked amazing with his brown fabric suit.
You didn't notice the ogling of the young man. He was surprised that the rumors about you were true after all. No one exaggerated your beauty. He smiled at you, impressed.
"This is my son, John Rolfe." He gestured to the handsome gentleman behind him.
John Rolfe did a little bow. To make things worse, he stepped up in front of you and kissed your hand.
You blinked in surprise. "Thank you. You didn't have too .."
Chuckling. John Rolfe grinned. "So modest too.*
Nodding, Mr. Rolfe continued talking about the new pipes and water wells he wants.
Without a moment to lose, you used your brain to easily connect the pipes and dig them inside the dirt ground and made holes in the grass areas to see water coming out of them.
"Amazing." John Rolfe smiled at you.  "Months of hard work done already. You are a blessing."
You thanked him out of politeness.
"You must be tired from the long trip. My mother prepared a guest room for you. Please follow me."
You followed both father and son as they led you to a fancy log cabin with a brown picket fence. It was a cozy and comfortable house. You liked it. It wasn't tacky or too fancy. You loved fiber things. So, it wasn't simple either. Just right.
The whole dinner, John wasn't the only one studying you. So was his mother. Mrs. Rolfe was admiring not only your looks but your table manners. A lot of beautiful candidates for her son were not kind. You were a good God fearing soul with good moral values. She admired and respected you. It would be grand that you were her daughter she never had.
A perfect wife for her son too.
But, you were too famous and out of John's league. With a sigh she sipped her tea cup.
After settling into the guest bedroom, John was in his own bed. He couldn't sleep. He kept thinking of you. Your gentle and graceful demeanor. So elegant you were too. What a lady.
Sighing, he remembered reading about your contributions to society in the newspaper. John was a businessman who traded goods and donated extra money to the poor.
He loved the way you thought. Not just your pretty face.
Finally, sleep overtook him. In a few hours, he woke up sweating and his male organ was wet.
He dreamed a beautiful dream…
You, sleeping next to him on a grand fancy bed and in a fancy luxurious room. In a place he has never been. He was pressed against your naked back. And you were curled around his muscular arms.
And he saw something that melted his heart. A wonderfully crafted wooden crib and inside not one but two babies were sleeping inside it. Both had his hair and skin color. But they both had the same type of hair and lip color as you. Beautiful angel babies.
Family of his own.
When John Rolfe woke. A tear slid down his right eye.
"I must have her. But how?"
