Bobbie woke with a start.
Disoriented she tried the best she could to take in her unfamiliar surroundings. It was light but she could tell it was late morning, sitting up on her elbows all she could see was sand and weeds covering the ground in all directions, this wasn't home. Where the hell was she? It took her a minute or two to stop the panic that had set in, things started to come back to her, the regulators, the fire, her father laying dead in the stables. God her poor father.
"Hey." Startled she whipped to her left. "You okay?"
All she could do was stare at the blonde man that was stoking the fire in front of him, for the life of her she couldn’t think of his name. “What?”
It was only then she had noticed someone out the corner of her eye heading her way, when she looked up Chavez was just kneeling down to her eye line, his arm outstretched. She was honestly surprised that she’d been able to remember his name but not the other mans. She took him in for a moment, she noticed his eyes, brown almost hazel in colour but they held such intelligence. Safe to say she was mesmerised, when she had found herself back to reality she finally looked down at the battered metal cup in his hand, she'd been that distracted that she hadn't even noticed how parched she was, so she gratefully took the water. Chavez almost cracked a smile at her, admiring the way she gulped the liquid down but he made sure to hide it.
"We only stopped for a rest, I'll get the horses ready." With that Chavez walked away, it took everything in Bobbie not to burn a hole into the back of his head, for she was sure he would be able to sense it.
"You didn't answer my question." She turned back to where blondie had been sat observing the entire encounter between her and Chavez.  Doc! that was his name! He was now fully focused on sharpening his blade.
She just looked at him confused. "Sorry what?"
Doc focused his gaze back to Bobbie. "I asked if you were okay, you look startled.” He gave the blade one last strike against the stone before burying the tip into the soft sand and chucking the stone aimlessly behind him. "but to be fair, can't say I at all blame you it's been a rough night."
She smiled at him, all that effort just to ask if she's okay. "I'm fine, I think. A little disoriented after every thing but I've been through worse plus, some of the company isn’t so bad.” Doc nodded in understanding. "I'll be fine, thank you though.”
Just as he was about to say something else they both heard two people bickering, one of which sounded frantic. It was coming from just around the corner of a big rock to their right, both Doc and Bobbie stood up to see what was happening. Chavez had already beaten them there and was trying to calm the situation down but to no avail, Charley just kept walking in circles and ranting over and over again.
The only word Bobbie could make out was 'hanging', at this point she had no idea exactly what she'd gotten herself into but she sure was about to find out. Just when she thought things couldn't get any worse Steve brought over Billy which made Charley freak out more. She hadn't even been around Billy for more than a day but there was just something about him that she already detested. And she was right, straight away Billy was describing hangings that he'd been witness to and of course Charley was incredibly distressed and getting worse, Billy even went as far to tell him that he most likely would be caught and hanged, just to rub salt further into the wound he also started to laugh in his face.
Bobbie had, had enough. "Hey Billy, why don't you cool it down a bit huh?" He gave her a look, one that she didn't like at all, one that instilled fear into her.
"Why don't you just keep your mouth shut huh? You're not apart of this gang little girl." He started to move towards her but to her surprise Chavez stepped in front of her.
"Billy." Chavez warned in a low tone. He backed off, but not without glaring at Bobbie who was peaking over Chavez's very wide shoulder.
“Why is she still here anyway? All she is is a bother, if anyone is going to get us killed it’s her!” Bobbie bolted past Chavez, determined to rip Billy’s face off, but Chavez’s reflexes where faster and he caught her by the waist and held her tight against his chest.
To Bobbie’s surprise it was Doc that spoke up this time. “She lost everything because of us, what were we going to do? Just leave her in the middle of no where without family or a place to live?”
Billy just scoffed. “She’s not our responsibility, if she slows us down or gets us in trouble I’ll kill her myself.” He seemed to drop it after that and walked over to Charley to continue their conversation.
It was only then that Bobbie realised that Chavez was still holding her, she couldn’t help but to notice how warm and comforting it was to be so close to him. But as soon as the thought entered her brain, he’d let go and started walking away.
They'd finally decided to treat Charley to one final good day, just incase they did get hung. Bobbie felt awkward at first walking into the bar, the girls walked around, shoulders exposed and low, very low necklines. She had sat down next to Doc, Chavez passing them, sitting down at the other table across from them with his back against the wall. A brunette rushed over to him, sitting behind him and immediately draping her hands all over his shoulders and chest. Bobbie tried her hardest to not look at them, she could feel something stirring in her but she tried to push it all down, she had no right to get possessive over him, they hadn't even known each other 24 hrs yet, what right did she have? What she didn't know was that Doc had clocked her stare at Chavez and smiled to himself, he knew exactly what that look meant.
Bobbie had been so distracted by Chavez and the lady hanging on to him that she hadn’t even noticed the tension rise in the room when Billy had walked himself over to the unknown man. Only realising the peril they could be in when Doc and Steve both took out their guns and laid them on the table, almost in sync. Doc as if sensing her discomfort did his best to give her a smile that was meant to calm her nerves, it did anything but.
“I would sure like to touch the gun that’s going to kill Billy the kid.”
Billy was going to get them all killed.
“I heard this Billy the Kid has a way with the woman.” She hadn’t meant to scoff out loud, in fact she only knew she had when all heads turned in her direction.
Luckily for Bobbie, Billy didn’t like when the attention was taken away from him for too long and continued with his doomed teasing of the bounty Hunter.
But Bobbie found herself once again distracted by the man sitting opposite her. In order to concentrate on the escalating situation behind him, he’d finally shooed the letch from the tight grip she had on his shoulder, Bobbie’s vision of Chavez was blocked only for a moment while the female walked past her, no doubt to find another willing male to latch onto. But the moment her sight was cleared again she found Chavez was already staring at her, in those matter of seconds he’d lifted his head and their eyes had met, he lifted the glass up to his lips and took a swig of his drink, never breaking the contact until he heard the fatal words come out of Billy’s mouth.
“Hey! I see him!” He pointed to himself in the mirror. “There! There’s Billy the kid!” Bobbie couldn’t help but roll her eyes and lean back, defeated in her seat, if a bounty Hunter didn’t come and kill this stupid kid soon she had half the mind to do it herself.
The man wasn’t having it though, he just thought he was being a stupid kid and was teasing him, if only he knew. When Billy started to whistle that’s when she knew this was going to go sour, and she was right. Trying to shoot Billy the man didn’t succeed for Billy had taken out all his bullets when the man had stupidly handed Billy his gun to look at, he tried several times but all that was heard were clicks. Then Billy pulled his gun, Bobbie will never forget the look on the man's face when it dawned on him that he was about to die.
He shot him, and that was it for Bobbie. After everything she’d been through she couldn’t take it so she stormed out and hoped that no one would follow her. But she would be disappointed, she could hear Doc calling after her as she marched her way to the horses. When she turned to look at him she could see that not far behind him was Chavez who was also walking towards her but he was walking a lot slower and definitely stalling to catch up to her.
“Let me guess, it was Billy that started all this in the first place?” Doc didn’t say anything but he stopped short in his tracks which was a dead give away. “How can you stand him? He’s so insurable.”
Doc looked confused and lost for words. "He sometimes has a point though, they killed our mentor, at first I didn’t agree. In fact I’m not sure what I think and feel right now but it’s happening and all we can do is go along with it.”
She was pacing in front of the horses now. "And that justifies killing more people? That just makes you as bad as them!"
"Bo." His soft voice stopped her in her tracks, she looked over to where Chavez was now stood next to Doc. "It's gone too far now, we have to see this through. Me and Doc definitely agree with you, but we've done too much and Billy isn't going to stop until he's satisfied. Murphy's men are definitely not going to stop hunting us until they see us shot or hung." He then turned to Doc, putting his hand on his closest friends shoulder squeezing it to reassure him, he gave a nod which made Doc sigh and he began the walk back to the bar.
Chavez watched until Doc was out of earshot. "I can take you to the nearest town if it'll make you feel safer, i'm sure we can find you a decent hotel."
She thought about it deeply, she had nowhere to go, no friends, no family and no place to call home. If she had also been a target because they were with her in her house then she too was probably being hunted. "I have nothing." She dryly laughed. "You guys are kind of the only thing I know right now, they also burned my house down and killed my father, which probably means i'm also a target right?"
"You are more than welcome to stay with us and i'll do my best, I mean me and Doc will do our best to keep you safe but you must know we can't promise your safety."  Bobbie's heart fluttered, maybe staying with them was the best thing, even if it would just be to stay close to Chavez and Doc.
She never got to say what she wanted as Charley screamed for his life. “IT’S JOHN KINNEY!”
Chavez rushed past her to untie his horse, she was too shocked to move. Everything was moving too fast. He jumped up onto the horse seamlessly and reached his hand down to Bobbie.
“You can ride with me.”

best dr who BF moment is when the timeline is changed and Shakespeare is erased from history, leading to Charley Pollard going off on a rant about how much she loves Kit Marlowe and he’s the greatest playwright ever, but she's never heard of this Shakespeare guy
I know it’s because yadda yadda scifi shit, but I like to think that somebody could be such a big Kit Marlowe fan that Shakespeare is a relatively minor author to them

consider Franklin Shepherd Inc <> the rant in Chicanery (Chuck is more of an abusive dad than forgotten friend ofc, but resentful public breakdown all the same)
Ooh yeah I feel that, Jimmy and Chuck really could go either way with Frank/Charley depending on the moment.

Ace Attorney Fic List
Do you like Ace Attorney fanfics? I sure do! And I’ve written a bunch! Check out my Tumblr header for a link to my A03, username call_me_elliot, since Tumblr tends to eat posts that have links in them.
Here’s a rundown of everything I’ve written, plus a short description.
Franziska von Karma x Maya Fey focused:
Turnabout Dry Cleaning Incident:
Due to an unfortunate dry cleaning incident Maya and Franziska end up with each other’s clothes. Chaos ensues.
Aisle Love You:
Franziska figures out, with Maya’s help, how to ask her brother to walk her down the aisle at her wedding. FranMaya fluff and Franziska-Miles sibling bonding.
Learning to Fail:
Franziska learns how to fail and becomes a gamer in the process. Contains therapy, fluff, found family and bonding.
Multi-ship focused:
“Fellow prosecutors, is it gay to love the defense?”:
FranMaya, Klapollo, NaruMitsu and the ways they love each other. Fluffy drabbles.
Mia’s Magic Couch:
Charley wasn’t the only thing Mia left Phoenix, she also left behind a couch that is supposedly magic, and brings together pining couples who sit on it. Includes a ton of found family fluff, bonding, sappy NaruMitsu, and almost a half dozen other ships including Larry/OC, FranMaya, Klapollo, Junithena and Trupearl.
Gen:
Ace Attorney: Texts After Dark:
Texts and chat fic one-shots with a Teen and up rating. Mostly random works I felt wouldn’t work as their own story. Perpetually unfinished.
No One, Absolutely No One, Recognizes Klavier Gavin With Hair Down
Miles Edgeworth and Phoenix Wright think they see Apollo Justice cheating on Klavier Gavin. The universe sees fit to get Ema, the only person who can recognize Klavier with his hair down, involved. Absolute chaos ensues.
The Sweetness Of A Name
Miles and Phoenix are in the process of having two children via surrogate. They have a very important question for Maya.
Enn-Ess-Eff-Double-U:
Well Suited:
Franziska brings Maya to a spy mission and wears a suit. Maya f*cks her brains out. Includes almost 5k words (out of 12k) of fluffy plot, a little bit of spycraft, rants about art and showers, and Shi-Long Lang being a supportive ally to the queer community and getting called a bitch.
Need:
Franziska encourages Maya to take care of her needs in the car on the way to their hotel. Basically no plot.
There’s The Rub:
Soulmate AU where person A and person B feel each other's arousal/pleasure.
In which Maya's soulmate chooses the worst possible moment to rub one out.

Can I get a scenario? The gang (+ Travis?) with an S/O who is a complete nerd about certain games/shows/actors/anything that they find interesting and will go on tangents as often as possible. They will introduce it to everyone they meet and has a bunch of merch.
yeah of course!! xx
SAL
oh lordyyy
he will find you absolutely adorable!
obviously he’s a very lowkey nerd since he’s in LOVE with tv shows and games (this is canon btw ahaa)
he’s obviously going to listen on your little tangents but he’ll be a little confused at times
he just melts when he hears you ranting about your favourite things and honestly, he loves listening to you rant in general
if you both happen to like to the same thing, then SHIT-
EXTROVERT SAL COMING THROUGH!
he’ll be ranting about the topic you have in common until he runs out of things to say!
but he’ll always let you speak first
he loves seeing you fangirl over the merch you bought
in fact, the only reason you guys met is because you two happened to bump into each other after you bought all that merch, causing all of it to fly all over the hallways of addison apartments
LARRY
“huh? yo-ou like sanity falsls too?”
for once he actually gets nervous
he usually picks his s/os from looks and once he found out they both like something huge in common, he didn’t really know how to function
one hand, he teases you for liking that shit so much, and sometimes that can make you feel shitty :(
but then again he’ll feel so frigging bad because over on the other hand, he’s a huge nerd too.
more likely just a dork i guess? but he loves you and he never wanted to hurt you
he’ll most DEFINETLY wear the merch you bought only to annoy the shit out you
“hey larry have you seen my ne- LARRY! TAKE THAT SHIRT OFF RIGHT NOW IT’S A COLLECTORS ITEM!!!”
“glady ;)”
after a while of dating, he’ll trust you enough to show his own secret little collection
he didn’t like showing it off after the case of charley and his ponies basically traumatised only love he had for collections
you’ll most likely take the risk of making fun of him, only to make him extremely upset
you didn’t really think he’d get that sad though, right? it’s only a collection
but then he explained why he was so upset and you immediately understood
your third date was to a sanity falls concert and that the moment he knew he loved you.
he’s never though he would fall in love so hard over a ‘nerd’
ASH
ooft >~
she cant handle how cute it is when you ramble on and ON AND ON
sometimes she has to admit it gets a tinyy bit annoying
but she loves it whatsoever, and plus she doesn’t have the heart to tell you to stop
she’s OBVIOUSLY going to make some merch for you
“you like the show fullhouse? OH YOUR GONNA GET A WHOLE OUTFIT SET OF FULLHOUSE!”
she’s practically a genius when it comes to crafts
she knows how to make almost anything
when she found out you were a huge fan, she made you your first piece of merch-
merch socks.
you were almost in tears on how adorkable that was
she LOVES going to conventions with you!
she’ll even cosplay if she can!
she’ll even MAKE matching cosplay outfits!
but you did have to stop her MUTIPLE times from getting into fights with people that seems to think that your fandom isn’t as good as other ones and that’s the main reason you guys always get kicked out
but regardless, you still love her
no matter how many conventions you miss x
TODD
(sadly i choose to skip todd in most things that involves s/os because he got a mans
TRAVIS
well…
he make fun of you alot when you guys just started dating
and not like how larry does it, i mean he’s trying to be hurtful
but after a while, i guess he sort of understood what the hype was all about
he realised he might even actually like it.
and that he might actually like you.
he liked to glare at you while you were wearing your merch and when you would address the staring he would say-
“It’s stupid.”
“huh?”
“the shirt, it’s fucking stupid”
but really he was just taking in how gorgeous you looked in your winkled, scrunched up merch
he wouldn’t come to conventions at all.
no matter how much you begged him
but one day he saw a piece of merch from your favourite fandom
and he bought it. for you.
“Uhh, I saw this and i thought you should, umm- have it?”
“awhh! travis you actually bought me merch?”
“no! i just saw it and i t-th-thought you might need it. nothing more, got it?”
you were still over the moon.
(again sorry if they were short!)

pls rant to us about Charley, Rose, and Eight respectively!!!
Charley Pollard (taking into account I still haven’t finished my re-listen to her audios and it’s been... a BIT since I heard the later ones, you all will have to forgive me)
First impression:
I came to the audios because a friend recommended them to me saying ‘You’ll love Charley’ and we’d bonded over fictional characters before so I trusted her. So I was kind of predisposed to like her, but I went in super curious.
Impression now:
CHARLEY IS THE BEST COMPANION. Well ONE OF THE TWO BEST. Look I love her.
She’s so incredibly interesting- she’s both tough and compassionate and she’s got PLANS. I think that’s the thing about her that I find most compelling. She’s, much like Eight, a study in duality and I LOVE THAT in a character.
Favorite moment:
It’s incredibly lame, but my favorite moment is actually her introduction from Storm Warning, where she’s writing then hunting around for her hat and puts on an accent to pretend to be a cabin boy.
“Candy floss clouds scattered as the mighty dirigible soared into the black night sky- a black so black it... OH well what’s that supposed to mean?”  HOW AM I NOT SUPPOSED TO FALL IN LOVE WITH THIS GIRL? HOW? EXPLAIN TO ME. SHE’S ADORABLE
That was the moment I knew I LOVED HER so that’s probably my favorite, just because it was that lightbulb moment.
Idea for a story
I have a nebulous idea that’s basically Dimension Canon Rose crash landing with Charley before Storm Warning and it’s all nebulous and the timeline doesn’t work, but ssshhhhhh- Rose Tyler and Charley Pollard, EDWARDIAN ADVENTURESSES.
Rose trying to figure out how to fix the canon from her end but failing, And Charley being so incredibly curious what’s really going on with her new friend, and them ending up on adventures as Rose slowly acclimates to living in the past.
Unpopular opinion
I... Don’t know? I don’t know what’s popular. I don’t care, either, tbh. Charley is amazing and her own person and While I’m forever sad she and Eight split up, I’m glad she’s still out there having adventures (even if I haven’t heard them)
Favorite relationship
Her friendship/romance with Eight. They play off each other so well from the moment they meet and it’s vibrant and wonderful when it’s happy and utterly HEARTWRENCHING at the end.
Favorite headcanon
I’M WITH YOU ON THE BISEXUAL CHARLEY TRAIN. MY GOD.
Rose and Eight below the cut!
Rose Tyler
First impression
When I first started watching the show I didn’t have any... priming, and god it was so long ago now, and I’ve loved her character so long I barely remember. But she was... interesting. I liked that she was the lay-person to the madness in ‘Rose’
Impression now
I’D DIE FOR HER. She grows so much over the course of the show and it’s wonderful how she develops and changes as her view of the universe changes.
She’s a hero in her own right, she’s all action when she needs to be, but she understands people and loves deep and strong and it’s magical
Favorite moment
Tumblr media
This moment right here. It’s not only a satisfying conclusion to the arc, it’s also the beginning of Rose being the most capable.
A close second: Rose being the Doctor in Turn Left.
Idea for a story
OH GOD WHICH ONE WOULD YOU LIKE?
The Dimension Canon AU mentioned above?
The THEATRE AU WITH EIGHT?
GUYS I’m So SO SO excited about this AU, because it’s Rose as an actress and Eight as an actor and it’s like... all softness and fluff and I LOVE THEM.
Unpopular opinion
I’m always a little sad with the end of Journey’s End? I love it, it’s excellent, but my shipper heart is always sad. Especially given my headcanon below.
Favorite relationship
Oh god, basically any of them? But I mean, it’s gotta be her relationship with the Doctor, if we’re going favorite. It’s the emotional core of the show and the reason I care about the show at all. She helps him and he helps her grow, and it’s BEAUTIFUL.
Favorite headcanon
Bad Wolf absolutely had some greater affect on her. Changed her somehow internally, though the specifics are... not something I think about too much.
Eight
First impression
UHHHHH HIS VOICE. No like that... was the extent of my thoughts. JUST WOW. I’d listen to him read the phone book.
Impression now
Eight is so underrated. It is a CRIME we only have the movie with him (I SAID WHAT I SAID). He’s excitable and happy in the film and the way his experiences evolve him over time. He’s also a study in duality the way he can be so intense but also so bubbly and it’s so compelling to hear Paul McGann perform the role with all that variation.
Favorite moment
UGHHHH I can’t choose. DON’T MAKE ME CHOOSE. Basically everything about Eight is AMAZING. The movie though, where he’s so happy and excited remembering the lights he saw as a boy from the meteor storm? That’s the moment I was like ‘I’d die for this character’ and IT REMAINS TRUE. So, we’ll go with that.
Idea for a story
THERE ARE SO MANY ROSE/EIGHT AUs In my head right now. SO MANY.
THE PHOTOGRAPHER AU
THE VAMPIRE/WITCH AU
THE MAGIC AU
THE MOVIE REWRITE I NEED TO FINISH
THE OT3 VERSE WITH CHARLEY
THE REGENCY AU
ALL THE STORIES
Unpopular opinion
Hmmmm. I mean.... My general go to with any Doctor is that Rose is his person. That’s not super unpopular in the circles I frequent, but in general it probably is. (Also as much as it’s a crime we had no seasons of show for him, I wouldn’t trade the audios for anything so, maybe that too)
Favorite relationship
I mean... Probably the Doctor and Charley, but also I love his friendship with Lucie. BASICALLY ALL HIS FRIENDSHIPS ARE THE BEST.
Favorite headcanon
He’s the one who fought in the Time War and the BBC can fight me about it.

After the Date
He couldn’t remember quite how he got back to the hotel- the whole trek back was a blur. He knew he still felt sick, though, and made a beeline for the bathroom as soon as he found himself back in his room. So much for the expensive dinner.
Kyr’zhan waited patiently in the room, taking off his cloak and finally allowing himself to get comfortable. Well, as comfortable as any of them could get that evening. He smiled softly when Mountbatten returned, and despite the nausea still making the room spin, Mountbatten couldn’t help but weakly smile back. Gods, Kyr’zhan still looked beautiful. It almost wasn’t fair, seeing as he was certain his own makeup was smudged beyond belief and everything else was in total disarray.
“Are you alright?” Kyr’zhan asked softly, reaching out to take his hands. Mountbatten stood there a moment, trying to remain calm, then shook his head.
“No…. no I’m not… I… I’m not…” He bypassed Kyr’zhan’s hands entirely and pulled him into a tight hug, burying his face in his neck. Kyr’zhan immediately held him close, gently rubbing circles in his back.
“It’s going to be alright. We’ll find your friend. We will. We’re not going to give up on them… but for now, you need your rest. We have a lot of work to do in the morning, and you need to be at full strength. Let’s get you to bed, yeah?”
Mountbatten shook his head. “No… no… you’re my guest… you should… should get the bed... I’ll… I’ll go on the couch…”
Kyr’zhan grinned, despite himself. “I don’t need to sleep quite like you do. The couch is fine for me. Remember, I’ve slept in far worse places.”
“But that’s the point. I wanted… I wanted to spoil… to spoil you… I’m fine. I… I’ll be fine-”
“Will you two just fuck already?” A gruff voice yelled from the next room. They both froze, looking mortified.
“Gods damn it, Ashley!” Mountbatten yelled, pulling away quickly to kick the wall. A loud snore was all he got in response.
“I am… so sorry…” Mountbatten sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose, room still spinning.
Kyr’zhan laughed awkwardly, closing the gap again and kissing his forehead. “He… is interesting. But nothing you have to apologize for. Now, please, get in bed?”
Mountbatten nodded weakly, kicking off his boots and finally doing as told. Kyr’zhan made a move to head towards the couch, but was stopped by a hand reaching out to take his.
“What is it?”
“I’m… I… please stay? Please?” He looked helpless, almost terrified, and Kyr’zhan nodded reassuringly.
“Until you fall asleep, alright?”
“Alright…”
Kyr’zhan crawled into bed with him, allowing the bard to pull him close again. “Please talk to me, Charley. What’s wrong?”
It took a moment, but the answer exploded like a dam. All his fears, all his suspicions, came pouring out at once- his disgust over the auction, his concern for those he saw that night, and most of all his worries about Corellon. What he feared they’d be expected to do. What he feared they’d already been forced to do. Kyr’zhan listened, allowing him to rant, to sob, to completely break down. He learned a lot about Mountbatten’s past; things he was sure Mountbatten had never told anyone. All he could do was hold him tightly and make him feel as safe as possible. And as Mountbatten slowly calmed down, he began to tell some stories of his own.
Mountbatten liked that. It took his mind off things, and it felt nice, to be confided in himself. They talked for what seemed like hours, desperately trying to make the other feel better.
Despite how the evening had progressed, it was still easy to talk. Because gods, he was terrified. Scared for his friend. For the future. For just about everything. But in no time at all the man lying next to him made him feel safe. Almost happy, even. And that had to count for something.
As Mountbatten finally began to drift off to sleep, Kyr’zhan reluctantly pulled himself away.
“Can we have another date?” Mountbatten mumbled, drowsily. “We can have it here... so you don’t have to wear the cloak... and we can order beer and cheap food and see each other and... kiss, maybe. If you’d like?”
Kyr’zhan beamed, nodding his head as he set himself up on the couch. “I would like that very much.”
“Good... I’m smiling, you know.” Mountbatten whispered, unable to help himself.
Kyr’zhan chuckled. “So am I.”

Memory Lane
Tumblr media
THE ICE CREAM MAN! WOMAN? WEIRD SHIP?
Ok fine, I'm back with the reviews. My last days were passed thinking about ranting about Snape so I thought about listening a audio drama. I'm almost on the Eight Doctor's Main Range stuff ending. Cause all this thinking chain makes sense (Still thinking about rantint about Snape but on another post definitely)!
So Aliens are using a crashed astronaut to make a history theater with the first human that ever set foot on their planet. They are using his memories to make a cell, with a Nan and legos, and everything else needed. There's also Charley's cell with all their memories (Her mom is back, YEY) and The Doctor's cell, which looks like the world where everyone tells him how brilliant he is (humble, isn't he?). The fact that just The Doctor's cell alone gives very good ideas for a story I would listen is a testimony to the brillance of the writer and actors who participate on this one.The ice cream van keeps popping everywhere cause of course.
Kim whoever-surname-she-has-I'm-sorry-I-don't-remember keeps also getting spotlight with her very good plan to awake everyone with old tv tapes of them in different moments of the story. That works exactly zero times in all story but It's a very good idea (says the Doctor, so I supose it is?)
C'rizz saves everyone giving his memories (or the things he wants to happen). Being an Eutermesan, C'rizz is an emotional and mental chameleon so he gets all the desires form the people who contacted with him. With that he "confuses" the cell and takes everyone out of there. Making it look really like the cell that it is.
Then The Doctor gives the aliens the footage of the human crashing in the planet, so the aliens don't need to actually film the human crashing every time they want to present that in their circus and everyone makes out happy. Life is good andsomething.
Enjoyable. It's not a masterpiece though.

what is your absolute favorite ship? so many!! too many!!! could never choose!!! but I’m on a Seanan McGuire kick right now and oh my god Toby/Tybalt owns my heart forever and ever so shoutout to those jerks, and I think I’ve written the most fic for Ahiru/Fakir so them too!
what ship do you hate most? I dunno, Toby/Connor was a Bad
what was your first ship, and what fandom is it from? oh man I have no idea, I’ve been a romantic loser since forever…Haku/Chihiro, maybe? I think the first ship I actually engaged with a fandom about was Percy/Annabeth
explain why do/don’t ship Eight/Charley: I SHIP THEM VERY MUCH because they are the sweetest ever, they are BEST FRIENDS and they have so much fun together and they LOVE EACH OTHER, and then also everything is a terrible heartbreaking mess but they still love each other so much and basically: take my hand anyways
how did you start shipping Eight/Charley? ummm I listened to Storm Warning and I was doomed
is there a ship that you used to ship, but don’t anymore? ….can’t think of any? I’m very stubborn, even when I abandon fandoms I usually hang on to my favorite ships
what’s a ship you like that most people don’t? ahahaha Sif/Loki is my fave garbage ship that I will never give up on
what’s a ship you hate that most people like? why is there so much Rey/Kyle Ron on my dash please make it go away
what is the most underrated ship, in your opinion? well Eight/Charley and Toby/Tybalt are both pretty underrated on account of having three-people-and-a-shoestring fandoms :(
what is the most overrated ship, in your opinion? oh man a lot of things probably, but mostly I just stay away from those corners of fandom so I’m having a hard time thinking of any?
do you prefer Eight/Charley as an otp, brotp, or notp? otp! they’re also an excellent brotp, but I am a romantic loser
why do you think Eight/Charley is so popular? CAUSE THEY’RE ADORABLE AND IN LOVE OR SOMETHING PROBABLY
why do you think Eight/Charley isn’t popular? I think there are people who prefer them being platonic only? which is fine, I get that interpretation, but I’m definitely in the romantic boat
rate Eight/Charley from 1-10 and explain why: 12/10 the cutest and bestest and most wonderful, containing both the cutest fluff AND the most heart-rending awful tragedy!! the ideal!!
what’s your favorite headcanon of Eight/Charley? I’ve ficced a couple of them! I just love to imagine them hanging out on the Tardis, cuddling and reading on a couch in the library or drinking tea after an adventure or watching movies from Charley’s future and just, TARDIS DOMESTICITY MAN
what’s your favorite canon moment of Eight/Charley? aaaaaaah
the Stones of Venice and Seasons of Fear are my two favorite audios for cute moments, there’s so much good banter and teasing and just all-around adorableness
“I hope you’d never abandon me like that, Doctor.” “Abandon you? No, and I wouldn’t lose you in a game of cards either! Of course not. You’re my best friend.”
when Eeyore!Eight freaked out about Charley maybe hurting herself because “I’m still him, I’m still me, I still–” and then I cried
“you’re my friend, and I love you” from Neverwhere and like, that entire scene and ALL THE PAIN
“but I love you”
“Of course I loved you! I killed myself for you, didn’t I?! Of course I loved you! ….Of course I love you.”
EVERYTHING IS THE WORST!!!!
remember how he always lets her win at scrabble, that’s good and non-heartbreaking let’s focus on that
“TAKE MY HAND ANYWAYS”
favorite AU ideas for Eight/Charley? ummm I like Hogwarts au for them, and also I have a college au buried in my wips somewhere where they mostly hang out in the library being dorks and chatting about the million classes Eight is taking that’s pretty fun
rant about Eight/Charley: they’re so good for each other when things are going well, they have so much FUN together and just delight in being around each other and saving the world and it’s so wonderful, but also I don’t think I can think of any other ships that have been broken quite as thoroughly as them? like scenarios where both people will die for the other but won’t let the other person die for them are always fascinating but Scherzo is the most honest and most brutally painful exploration of dealing with the fallout of that kind of mutual self-sacrifice for love and it’s so terrible and so real and just god, what a masterful piece of writing, what a brilliant shipalso, they have SO MANY MONSTERCHILDREN, WHAT IS EVEN UP WITH THAT
what’s a meme/quote that reminds you of Eight/Charley? Scherzo is basically its own meme at this point
what song(s) remind you of Eight/Charley? no idea honestly? Paul McGann’s voice is music
what kind of dates do you think Eight/Charley would go on? world-saving dates!! opera dates!! weird alien restaurant dates!! bookshop dates!! dates to Venice when it’s not being wiped off the face of the planet, one of these days, maybe!! butterfly room picnic dates!! pick a time period and let’s dress up and go explore dates!! dates that are just lying around cuddling and drinking tea and playing board games!!!
have you ever written fanfiction/drawn fanart of Eight/Charley? would you consider it? I have written fic of them! two of which are even finished and published and can be found in my fic tag! and I should definitely write more, someone should send me some prompts maybe

Waiting for a Star to Fall-             Ch 1: You Had Me at Hello
Meena woke up the next morning cuddled up to her favorite body pillow as the sun peeked through her curtains and washed over her bed. She stretched languidly and and got out of bed with some effort, shuffling lazily to the bathroom where she began her morning ritual with a warm shower. She had been hired for the afternoon and evening shifts at a nearby diner so she had plenty of time to get ready and eat a good breakfast before she had to go to work.
Once she had finished her shower she wrapped her long black locks in a towel, put on her comfy terry cloth robe and headed out to the kitchen to start her breakfast. The first thing that she had done when she moved in was fully stock the pantry and fridge. Meena was a master chef and had a true passion for cooking so she was excited to make her first meal in her new home. Usually she would have made something kind of elaborate but she decided to keep it simple since her stomach was already in knots because of nerves. Sure she had plenty of practice serving in a diner from when she was in high school, but her social anxiety always managed to rear its ugly head.
She scarfed down her omelet and chugged her orange juice, watching the clock the entire time. When she was finished she hurried back to her room and slipped into her old waitressing dress. It was a light blue button up with white trim and a slightly faded white apron that she struggled to tie around her pregnant belly. When she finally got it secured she hurriedly did her hair and then gathered her things for work. With her purse in hand and her keys brandished, she locked down the house and hurried to the bus stop that would take her to work.
Meena sat on the bus for fifteen minutes, her heaphones plugged into her ears and her hand gently caressing her stomach. She got a few looks from other passengers but she just hunkered down in her seat and counted the minutes until her stop. When the bus finally came to the stop across the street from the diner, she tried to leap up but only ended up wobbling all the way to the curb.
Meena quickly regained her balance and hurried across the street to the quaint little diner that was already bustling with the lunch shift. Since it was only her first day she was put in charge of the customers at the bar rather than be given a full section. She was slightly overwhelmed when she was handed a pad of paper, a pen, and a pocket menu and told to get started, but she quickly steeled herself and moved to serve her first customer.
Unfortunately for her, her first customer was a long haul trucker who had stopped in for lunch. He was very particular about his food and didn't seem to care that Meena had no idea what he was talking about concerning his order. She figured it out to the best of her ability and when the food was ready she tentatively served it to the scruffy man. her heart was pounding as he took a bite of the sandwich, and for a moment it looked as though she had gotten it right but the man angrily spat out his food and began ranting at Meena about his order.
Meena just cowered under his tirade, her breath coming in short little panicked huffs as her arms wrapped around her belly to protect her baby. The man stood up from his seat and the restaurant went silent as his angry rant escalated to insulting her personally rather than just her mistake with his food. His pointing finger might as well have been a dagger into Meena’s heart as he jabbed it accusingly in her direction. She did’t register the sound of the front door opening or the murmuring of other patrons, she was so terrified of this man.
Tears began to pool in Meena’s eyes and roll down her cheeks in little rivulets as his words faded into muffled noise and his angry red face grew larger and larger. Meena felt her vision starting to fade and her eyelids fluttered. The rational part of her brain demanded that she could not faint from fear on the first day. She couldn’t afford to lose this job.
And then a strong feminine arm wrapped protectively around her face and the world became sharp and present again. A petite Hispanic woman was supporting her curvy form as she addressed the unruly customer.
“Charley! Sit the fuck down and eat the sandwich!” She roared and the trucker sat back down, his mouth open like a gaping fish. There was a flash of fear in his eyes when the fiery woman leveled him with an even darker glare. In response he just looked down at his plate and began stuffing the sandwich into his mouth like it was the last sandwich he would ever eat.
Meena felt herself being led away from the counter but she was still in shock from the whole scenario. In the blink of an eye she was in the walk in cooler and her savior was handing her a juice box from one of the shelves. Shakily she accepted in and began gratefully drinking down the juice. Surprisingly it had a calming effect on her and once more she was able to focus on her surroundings rather than her paralyzing fear.
“You ok hun?” The woman asked and Meena looked up to finally get a good look at her savior. She was petite but her tanned arms were strong and covered in various tattoos. Her face was round and soft underneath her various piercings and pointed eyebrows. Her dark hair was bunched into various dreads that were bleached in random places, almost giving them a striped look. Meena watched as she fiddled with the dreads, pulling them back into a large ponytail.
Meena finally realized that a response was expected from her and she nodded her head, still sucking on the juice box. The woman’s face seemed to tighten and the fire returned to her eyes as she laid a hand on Meena’s shoulder and squeezed gently.
“I’m sorry about what happened with Charley. He’s an ass. Usually I’m the only one who can handle him.” She huffed out an annoyed breath as if the mere thought of the man made her angry, which seemed to be true.
“What’s your name?” She asked gently, her eyes softening immediately. Meena slowly tore herself away from her comforting juice box and managed to reply loud enough for the woman to hear.
“M-M-Meena.” She immediately went back to the juice box as the woman pulled over a crate to sit on.
“My name is Ash.” She held out a hand and Meena looked at it in confusion for a second before she took it. Ash shook their hands with a strong, sure grip and Meena suddenly felt like they were friends. It only took that one moment, that small exchange but suddenly she relaxed with Ash and her fear started to disappear faster than before.
“How far along are you?” Ash asked, gesturing to Meena’s stomach. Meena lit up at the mention of her pregnancy and her response came out much easier this time.
“F-four months. With twins.” Her smile was still cautious but happiness twinkled in her blue eyes nonetheless.
Ash whistled and reached for her wallet in her back pocket, “Damn girl. I can’t even imagine popping out two kids. One was enough for me.” She revealed a picture of a gap-toothed boy with multicolored hair and arms covered in dinosaur temporary tattoos. Meena cooed over the picture and as she set aside the empty juice box and leaned closer to Ash.
“What’s his name?” She asked eagerly, looking up from the photo for a second. Ashe was grinning and a new light had entered her eyes. It was a light that Meena had seen many a time, and was starting to see in herself. It was the light of a parent talking about their child.
“His name is Hendrix. He’s about to start kindergarten.” Ash took the picture back, stared at it for a second, and then put it back in her wallet.
“Wow. You must be so proud.” Meena allowed Ash to help her to her feet and she stretched until her back let out a satisfying pop.
“I really am.” Ash opened the door and gestured out to the bustling restaurant where people were waiting to be served at the bar, “You okay to go back out there?”
Meena nodded tentatively and gulped loudly as she stepped back out into the fray, but this time Ash was right behind her. As if on cue, Ash put a comforting hand on her back and whispered, “You got this chica. I got your back.”
Meena felt a burst of courage soar through her and she stepped forward with new confidence to serve the waiting customers. It took her a little while to get a hang of waitressing again but with Ash coming by the bar area to encourage her and to chat she soon found her groove.
In between serving tables the two women chatted and learned that they lived on the same culdesac and Ash would also be attending the barbeque. Meena felt better about going as soon as she learned that she would at least know one more person at the barbeque. She also learned that Ash played guitar and was part of her boyfriend’s band: The Lance Experience.
Time flew by and soon they were an hour away from closing. Meena’s feet were pulsing with pain and her back was aching something fierce. She gazed at the older couple sitting in a booth longingly, every part of her body begging her to sit down. Once more she glanced at the clock, but the device only taunted her by going slower. She felt her eyes become heavy and suddenly resting her head on her hand felt like she was laying on a pillow. She was seconds away from slapping herself awake when the door jingled and two people made a beeline for her counter.
Meena straightened up and assembled a tired smile for her new customers. When they sat down and she finally got a look at them, Meena felt her heart skip a beat and her mouth go dry. Sitting on the stool in front of her was the most attractive man that she had ever seen.
He had dark tan skin that peeked out from underneath his leather jacket and plain white t-shirt. His dark wavy hair was styled haphazardly on his head, and his smile was practically blinding her with its sincerity. His face was soft but chiseled and his plain white shirt did nothing to hide the muscles that bulged underneath it. Meena was almost struck dumb by his beauty, but her attention was drawn to the equally beautiful little girl that was sitting at his side.
She couldn’t have been older than 8 years old and had the same complexion as her father. Her long dark hair had been messily braided into pigtails and she was wearing a green and yellow soft ball jersey. Her smile was a million watts of happiness and she was eagerly bouncing in her seat, something that made Meena’s heart flutter happily.
Meena shook herself, and in a move that the handsome father probably never experienced before, she turned to the little girl and bent down as far as she could so that she was leaning over the counter and addressing her first.
“What can I get for you little missy?” She asked cheerily and the little girl giggled triumphantly before sticking her tongue out at her father playfully.
“Ice cream!” She crowed happily and Meena laughed along with her. She cheerily booped the girl on the nose and wrote down her order.
“One sundae for the little princess.” She started to say but the little girl cut her off with her best attempt at a serious face.
“I’m not a princess. I’m a ninja.” She declared and Meena raised an eyebrow at her, a grin spreading across her round face.
“Well then, a heaping sundae for the little ninja.” She giggled and then turned to the father, who up until this point had been watching her talk to his daughter, with a look akin to grateful awe, “And what can I get for you Daddy Ninja?”
The man let out a deep laugh that vibrated Meena’s bones and made her heart melt even more. He pretended to look over the menu but quickly put it down and leaned closer to order.
“I’ll ‘ave ter take a slice of the pie of the day.” He said with a slight Cockney accent. Meena noticed that his warm brown eyes mirrored his daughter’s in their level of excitement and Meena smiled shyly back at him.
“Coming right up.” She bustled away towards the back to make the sundae and fetch a slice of pie. Just before she disappeared through the doors she heard the little girl say something to her father.
“She’s pretty Daddy.” She said and to Meena’s utter shock and pleasant surprise the man replied with an affirmation.
“I kna sweetie. I kna.”
Meena felt her face heat up and she scurried into the back to get their order. She had just finished the sundae when Ash found her in the back. Meena had a feeling that by the smirk on her new friend’s face she was about to get teased mercilessly.
“Pretty Boy is into you Hot Mama.” She smirked and Meena’s blush took on a deeper shade of embarrassment.
“N-no no no. I mean he’s just being nice right? Kids don’t have a filter and it’s late at night.” She babbled excuses as she took out a slice of pice and picked up the sundae. Ash quickly blocked her escape and raised a questioning eyebrow. Meena stared back at her for about a second before her resolve crumbled and she blurted out what she knew Ash wanted to hear.
“Okay he’s gorgeous and his daughter is adorable. Happy?” Ash just nodded and moved out of the way so that Meena could waddle out to the restaurant. The little girl was now coloring in a coloring book while her father watched patiently. She seemed to be telling him the story from her little coloring book, or at least her version.
“Dessert delivery!” Meena found herself calling out as she set the desserts in front of them and waited for their reactions. The little girl stopped in the middle of her story and shoved her coloring materials aside so that she could devote her entire self to the sundae masterpiece before her. Similarly, her father’s gaze zeroed in on the pie. Wordlessly they grabbed their respective utensils and dug into the food with fervor.
Ice cream smeared all over the little girl’s face like magic while her father was more conservative about eating his treat.
“This is the best pie in town.” He moaned through a bite of his chocolate cream pie and Meena couldn’t help but comment.
‘Well then you obviously haven’t tried mine.” She joked but the man’s head snapped up and he gave her a charmingly crooked smile that coaxed her own sweet smile to bloom across her face.
“Ya bake?” he asked, and Meena’s confidence boosted as she began chatting about her love of cooking and baking in any form. By the time he had finished his pie and his daughter had finished her sundae she had promised him a taste of her handiwork.
"I just realized 'a rude I've been. I ain't introduced myself. I’m Johnny.” He held out his hand and Meena happily took it, savoring the rough feel of his calloused skin against her smooth palms.
“I’m Meena.” She said, her voice soft and tentative, but her smile was eager.
“And I’m Cora!” A little voice piped up, breaking the spell that had woven between Meena and Johnny. Both adults broke out into laughter and Cora just sat there smiling at them, obviously proud of herself.
“Nice to meet both of you.” Meena said as Johnny got up from his seat and helped Cora down from hers, “I hope I see you again soon.” She blushed when Johnny winked and led his daughter out of the diner.
“Of course ya will. Ya owe me sum ‘omemade pie.” He called out as they disappeared out the door and into the might, Meena leaned against the counter and let out a long wistful sigh. She was still staring at the door when Ash came up behind her, her purse slung over her shoulder and a big grin on her face.
“C’mon chica let’s get out of here. I’m sure you’re exhausted.” She handed Meena her purse and linked arms with her. Meena giggled and let Ash lead her out of the darkened diner and to the bus stop. The whole way home they chatted and Meena listened to countless stories about Hendrix and his many adventures. By the time they reached their stop she was fast asleep on Ash’s shoulder.
Ash smiled affectionately down at her and gently stroked her hair to wake her up. Meena slowly woke and stumbled through the culdesac with Ash by her side. When they reached Meena’s home she turned around and pulled Ash into a hug. The petite latina stiffened for a second before relaxing into the embrace and patting Meena’s back.
The last thing Meena said to her before she released her and went to bed was a quiet and heartfelt, “Thank you.”

I just finished Neverland and I honestly think it might be my favourite episode of anything ever
Yeah okay I’m probably biased because I just listened to it lmao but it was pretty damn amazing and I need to scream about it so extremely appreciative rant under the cut
Things I loved that I need to yell about:
the BEGINNING. That whole the Doctor being Peter Pan, the boy who never grew up, still living in Never-Never Land is such a perfect fairytale parallel, they’ve done lots of fairytale stuff in the new series but this was just goddamn amazing and honestly at first I thought the episode took its title just from that which would have been awesome but it got better
Charley is such a sweetheart for being all nice and lovely and so accepting of her own death, and the Doctor trying to lie to her about her birthday to take her to safety was just so adorable Eight can you just
ALL THE TIME LORD STUFF, I usually find the Time Lords kinda boring (from the rather… limited exposure I’ve had to them from the new series lol) but I loved them?? I was already planning to start classic who soon but after this I would watch it just for Romana? All their myths and TADRISes and yeah did I mention Romana I loved EVERYTHING
THE NEVERPEOPLE. THE ANTIVERSE. THE OUBLIETTE OF ETERNITY. That entire idea of people being erased from history as a punishment, and everyone thinking they haven’t used it in centuries but it’s actually because they always, well, forgot the last time they used it, is pure awesome (also loving the name - look learning French was actually useful!) The Neverpeople themselves and their motivation, especially Sentris, and the way they spoke about it and their right to exist and just everything about this concept was goddamn magnificent
Can we just talk about Eight and Charley for a moment. More specifically, that moment that made me stop in the middle of the sidewalk and rewind three times because way to set up emotional intensity oh my god did he really say that, why must my favourite characters be tortured so
He said I love you I was deceased this is on par with the Doctor calling the Time Lords bitchy honestly please have Eight swear and declare his love for everyone all the time thanks
If I had seen that scene on TV I would have died
I think I’m starting to ship Eight and Charley a little and I’m scared
Okay back to the plot, I got sort of lost in the middle (did I accidentally rewind my audio or did that scene happen twice?) but I did understand what happened at the end and I gotta say the Doctor materializing his TARDIS around a different exploding TARDIS is just such a creative and ambitious idea and it’s also so very Eight because of course he had to sacrifice himself
And that was Rassilon he was talking to the whole series oh my god
Zagreus… wait, what?! This is… not going to turn out well and also four hours long there goes the rest of my week
Scherzo is after Zagreus. Scherzo. I think this was the only reason I started listening to audios back in December
This entire ride has given me inspiration to fire up my (hopefully) dormant artistic and writing skills that I haven’t used in years but this is just too beautiful to ignore
Oh yeah also this Web of Time idea is so much better than the “fixed point in time” thing they have going on in the current series, I still really love Hell Bent but come on… imagine if Clara’s survival had resulted in this that would’ve been one hell of a finale
And it also makes more sense to me that time would be more fluid somehow? IdK man I just like ravaging time distortions
I think Eight is now my favourite Doctor, what have I gotten myself into

Sweat was dripping down his chin as he cut through the power line pole. The chainsaw ate the post- wood was spitting into the air- The power line pole groaned as it fell into the streets- the wires snapping. “No more light for anybody! Nobody can see in the darkness! Now you understand?!” Charles screamed as he stumbled blindly to the next pole. The chain saws serrated blades rotated in a fury of madness as he tore the next power line pole down- much like the last- it began to lean until it finally toppled over- sparks jumping as the wires split. The neighbors were outside watching- the police would be there soon. Not a single person was going to try and talk any rational into a man wielding a chainsaw dangerously into the air- stumbling- as he screamed maniacally, “How will you see without light?” As people heard his insane ranting, it became apparent that he had lost his mind. Children were guided inside by their parents and told to lock the doors. Eventually, most of the adults would retreat to the safety of their houses while they looked from their living room windows as Charles continued in a fleet of madness. You could hear sirens in the distance.
However, you might find interest in knowing exactly how this event came to transpire. Charles was- by all accounts- a happy man- a man that was always friendly, and he was a teacher at a nearby middle school. Although Charles may seem like a monster in this moment of insanity, you will see that most people considered him a victim. Let me explain:
