Bit of a twist on the regular hybrid aus

A small percentage of people hybridise as their national/state animals because magic got reintroduced into the world a couple generations back

Soap is a Unicorn, Price, Gaz and Ghost are Lions and Roach is a Welsh dragon.

Graves and Alex are either bald eagles or long horns and Laswell is either a bald eagle, a calico cat or an Astrodon (a mother fucking dinosaur)

Farah is Phoenix and Hadir is a snow Leopard.

Alejandro and Rudy are Golden eagles and Valeria is a rattle snake.

Nick is a Eurasian brown bear

People didn’t think Soap would do well in the military because of how Unicorns are traditionally viewed, sometimes he still cops flack for it.

People hate losing mythic hybrids so Soap Roach and Farah are treated differently then regular hybrids.

Shepherd is jealous of the hybrids and Makarove wants magic extinguished from the world again. 

Maryland has a fucking DINOSAUR as one of its state animals wtf

GREAT PREMIS LOVE THIS!!! This is a perfect idea with how to do hybrids.

Soap as a unicorn is based as FUCK!! Idk about Gaz, Ghost, and, Price all being lions but I don't hate it. I see Roach as Irish but a Welsh dragon is just as good.

Graves is a bald eagle, Alex is a long horn, and Laswell HAS to be the dinosaur I don't make the rules.

Farah as a phenix is perfect for a number of reasons and Hadir as a snow Lepard makes sense as well because of well...Russians.

well, they are able to forget in the short-term, but everything comes back eventually. be it memory magic (mest was able to affect loke), time (the spirits never mentioned the eclipse that sent the dragon slayers forward in time), or excessive trauma (... probably also the eclipse gate, actually)

spirits remember the beginning of time, the end of time, and everything within and outside that rigid format.

ultear and dimaria arent even close to the only mages who use time-based magic. their usage of it is fairly tame, compared to those of years long passed and years never to be seen. no matter how many times someone messes with the timeline, the spirits remember

taurus remembers the faces of everyone he has ever protected. if they had one, that is. hes not sure he likes the running tally he has, of how many features and names can be attributed to those long since dead

capricorn hates nothing more than getting information wrong because of the butterfly effect. how was he meant to keep the pasts separate when they were so similar? it should not hurt so much that he doesnt even know who were 'truly' his masters

do you know how much it hurts, to be unwillingly thrown back in time something as small as a week, and see people that do not recognize you? to be thrown further and further back, months to years to decades, and have the people you hold close not know you? not even be born yet? possibly never to be, if you put one single toe out of line

gemi and mini remember a time when the agria sisters were together the whole time, never separated, never criminals, never taken advantage of. they feel more sadness than hate that the sisters were split, that they ended up with sorano, that sorano turned to the oración seis

leo twitches and never takes his eyes off of sorano, whenever hes summoned in her presence. he remembers, more so than anyone else, of a time when aries was the cause of karen's death. of when leo was the one taken by angel. of when leo was further abused and tortured by those who shouldve protected him as he does them. and he cant do anything about it. not now, when it was aries taken by angel, when he wasnt abused again, when he cant talk about it. she wasnt terrible to him in this time, so who was he to blame her for another's actions?

he says his wariness is because of what she did to aries and scorpio and gemi and mini. lucy doesnt fully believe him. he cant say anything, though, because what if this changes the timeline again? they already messed up, with the existence of 'loke' instead of 'kirase'. what if another point against angel means lucy actively antagonizes her? they need her still, yes they do, they need sorano for future fights, so he cant say a damn thing

Is funny to me how the crew in She-Ra always talks how important is for them to make the cast with body diversity, but them they have three male characters with the same body type

If you pay attention you can notice that Sea Hawk, Bow and Mikha all have very similar body types (broad shoulders, small waist and descent amount of muscle) which is funny for a show that cares so much about representativity

And the LGBT representation seems very disgenuine, it doesn't seem natural like the writers or animators were having fun on making the characters gay, just look like they made them like that for obligation, it doesn't look genuine. And then we have the cultural and racial diversity that is...lacking, to say the least

Like, yeah we have a bunch of characters with different skin tones, but they never seem to be an actual ethiniciy? Like, Catra aparently is supposed to be latina but nothing in her character actually looks latina other than her skin tone and Mermista i guess is indian? I always headcanon her as indian because of that dress she uses in princess prom that looks a lot like a Sari, but we also never see anything in Selinia culture that may indicate that. I know that is a fictional world, but Avatar was able to mix real life culture with their shows lore, so She-Ra could also do the same, the characters would really benefit for that cause would make them more unique and would make Etheria actually look like a planet with different people and countries instead of a fairyland straight out of a child dreams

oh yeah. i've noticed only female characters seem to have some diversity in the body types, while all the male characters look pretty much the same. i guess micah has a slightly wider body than bow and seahawk but it's still not a huge difference. hordak and horde prime also have the “standard male body”. kyle is skinny but that's not really breaking any norms, especially since he's portrayed as a weak loser who doesn't matter to the plot.

it is nice to have female characters who are chubby or muscular or different from the norm, but why can't we also have that for men? (and non-binary people but the show literally only had one enby character so..)

the ethnicity thing is a little more tricky since it's a fantasy story, and a lot of fantasy shows tend to go this route since it doesn't take place in the real world, so for example, we can't really say a character is asian if asia doesn't exist in a fantasy universe.

but yeah, the thing with spop is that the worldbuilding is really poor. we don't get to see much about the cultures of the different places in etheria. if they had taken more time with the worldbuilding and differentiated each culture, we could have gotten a more compelling storyline. other than avatar, the dragon prince also does this pretty well. the different types of elves are shown to have different cultures, ethics and practices. they also show how these cultures sometimes clash with the human cultures and norms, it's pretty interesting.

but yeah, it feels like spop just added diversity for the sake of diversity. it's not that they're interested in representing people of different ethnicities or sexualities, they just did it for the brownie points.

Okay so HONESTLY im gonna ramble about this idea i got from reading one of the genshin sagau posts about the creator and their books that are read are popping into tevyat BUT imagine if it were the movies we have watched (inspired from @sagaubeloved sorry for the ping if it bothers you 😭)

LIKE imagine if ur a horror movie fanatic, IMAGINE THE CHARACTER'S REACTION. Idk if u watch horror bcs u like it or u just like a good scare or two but imagine showing them a movie like maybe the nun 2 or fnaf or coraline or ANY HORROR MOVIES. Imagine if the people (scholars, maybe some theatrics enjoyers?) are horrified watching it "THE CREATOR WATCHES THIS?!" "Yeah i do-" They'd either get nightmares or became really paranoid cause horror movie end credits sometimes scares me like 'based on-' no. I think they'd be paranoid because it says based on real life or something. Especially if its coraline, HONESTLY I COULDNT SLEEP MUCH FOR A FEW DAYS BECAUSE OF THE SPIDER MOM OR WHATEVER OTHER MOM THAT IS 😭😭 buttons for eyes (no- not identity v-) or if its something like FNAF then they'd probably be paranoid 💀 (until they know its actually from a game that has like 13 versions with i think 8 being the ACTUAL part of the series and the rest being spin-offs)

Now other than horror movies we have something moreeeee child friendly? Maybe some of y'all still watches trolls (i heard trolls 3 was about to be released), disney maybe, dreamworks am i the only one who suddenly remembers ratatouille talking about this-. The characters would be less horrified with this and go like "oh, this is the type of movie creator likes? Culture & General Facts before we begin:

📚As I’ve said before I headcanon that in the demon world all the races existing there have their own language. The demon language is one that only they (supernatural creatures) can understand.

📚However they do speak human languages, especially English bc it’s widely used. Depending on the clan the languages change too.

📚Romanian is also spoken to bc it’s where the demon realm is located so everyone knows that language too. (At least a majority)

📚However, English is spoken with lots of sophistication like it was back then in like the 1600s and stuff

📚Cause remember they like to stay classy, sure they used to speak differently 100s of years ago but they still do not modernize themselves like humans.

📚Even tho Karl brings human culture into the demon realm it is still not like the human world mostly bc these beings have too much pride.

📚So things are different in fact one of the most modern things about that place is school and how the uniforms are like the ones in the human world.

📚The younger generation has some technology but not everyone has it.

📚So there are phones but not computers. Most people don’t have them tho bc they don’t like them and don’t go to the human world.

📚I know it might seem like they wouldn’t have phones but Kino has one so I think that some may have them.

📚The sky is always a dark grey throughout the day and only gets darker at night.

📚It is a world with only a moon but not a sun.

📚The animals are also different, most of them are dull in color.

📚For example, it is a common occurrence for a dragon to soar above in the sky.

📚Birds do not really exist unless they are ravens, but these are no ordinary ravens either. Basically, even though the animal may reflect one in the human world, they don’t exhibit the same behaviors, abilities, or diets.

📚The animals are usually more demented looking too.

📚There are no colors in the world, at least not a lot of them.

📚There are only three seasons: winter, fall, spring (but not much bloom, it lasts for a little bit)

📚Time moves slower in this world, in fact, clocks move counterclockwise.

📚Calendars are in their demon language and probably look something like Russian cursive with like symbols in between.

📚I could also see it looking like English letters vertically.

📚And there is no translation to any of this so good luck and no human can speak it.

📚I'm betting that the calendar is backward or numbers are upside down.

📚Everyone who lives in this world possesses a power of their own.

📚Girls are allowed to go to school because while this realm is quiet s*xists Karl would like for the younger generation to be more modernized.

📚However some rules are still s*xist.

📚That’s all I have for the general context of this post. I will make a post more focused on the clans and the culture itself in the future (maybe). However the best way for me to really get to it is if it’s in my inbox 😂so request stuff you want to see it, anyways let’s dive into the school part.

School specifics 

📚Name of the school is probably in their demon language.

📚The school was opened and funded by Karlheinz.

📚He had an old castle which he turned into an academy that largely extends like as big as a college cause there are separate buildings attached to it.

📚Not mention all the various gardens which Karl actually names.

📚It’s a school mostly for vampires but other high-class creatures such as Viboras are allowed.

📚There is a slight division between the two but usually they have mixed classes.

📚Humans (if vampire brides) are allowed as well however they will need a magic pendant to repel any supernatural causes which could alter their human state.

📚In other words they need it to avoid turning into a ghoul.

📚It is a magic school of royals and nobles.

📚Magic is perfected along with other subjects at school.

📚 There is a dress code as students wear uniforms but the Sakamakis tend to alter theirs.

📚And even other students cause they just don’t care.

📚Girls tend to have their shirts much more opened.

📚The skirts are like mid-thigh. Some girls have worn garters tho.

📚Everyone wears a tie, a blazer, and those shiny school shoes.

📚The school colors are black, red, navy, and white.

📚Viboras wear blue, vampires wear red.

📚It’s just what they prefer.

📚But a lot of the time students break the dress code but the teachers kinda let them.

📚It’s probably three years of high school.

📚The rules are supposed to be strict but the students don’t really care.

📚However because they are from royal/noble families they do have an image to hold.

📚Especially the Sakamakis because they are vampire princes and everyone knows that over there.

📚So as you can imagine the girls are all over them. I will talk more about them later.

Rooms

📚Main entrance: it’s where they all check in it’s quite big and leads up to a double staircase.

The place is like two or three stories high.

📚Library: have you seen beauty and the beast, like the live-action? That’s how big it is! It’s completely dark academia vibes and there is a large window you can sit by and read at!

📚The library is two stories and has a staircase leading to the more private section as most students don’t go up there.

📚It is so freaking quiet there.

📚Speaking of the private section students only go if they’re a couple and want to you know~

📚It’s by a pair of curtains so it does make it a little convenient.

📚Music room: such a beautiful place with so many instruments. I can’t even tell you.

📚Art Gallery: where all the great artwork is and some of Karl’s favorite pieces of work are there.

📚They might be magical or something.

📚Laboratory: I would say it's really a spell room actually but yes I think they have a room where there is science and different properties exist. Some of the elements are supernatural so Chem is cool in the demon world. It’s mostly just magic tho.

📚Museum: or as I like to call it Karl’s junkyard.

📚I believe he’s a collector. So all kinds of historical and magical objects are displayed there.

📚If people touch stuff they are going to pay dearly.

📚Gym: It's huge and it's where the students can play their brutal sports.

📚Threate: Where plays and dances are performed. They do tend to like theatres just as if it were the 1500s+.

📚Karl directs a lot of the plays so of which are about him. Sometimes the school directs them and he wants his sons to participate.

📚Gardens: Karlheinz loves his precious gardens, it’s where a lot of his statues are.

📚That being said DONT TOUCH the statues!!!

📚Each garden is named after a special woman in his life (not his wives)

📚And they all contain spiritual energy which moves anyone in the garden.

It’s primarily based on the way these women made him feel/what they represent.

📚So for one he’s loved, anyone who enters will question their love life and if they have a love interest at the moment.

📚It's prone to making students confess.

📚He’s probably got one that is quite mysterious too so that might play some tricks on you.

📚I think it has aspects of greek mythology wrapped up in it.

📚I also think that the art inspiration stems from Italy, Greece, England, and little bit of Japan when it comes the gardens.

📚The gardens are well tended to and are usually a maze, housing some benches and resting places, magical ponds, quiet areas to study, and just beautiful scenery.

📚They are something out of this world.

📚There are lots of roses with thorns too.

📚And the mazes are magical so it becomes difficult to get through them. Especially for humans because it tends to mess with their thoughts and keeps them there longer than they should be.

📚Remember nothing here is normal and everything in here greatly affects human beings.

📚So the maze can act as a trap if you’re weak-minded.

📚Although the gardens are very pretty, and tempting to go into it’s advised for humans to not enter.

📚Spirt hallway: there are lots of places in the demon world which houses spirits that are bounded to the realm.

📚You can see spirit mist in the hallway, which usually happens when one uses magic the wrong way which can happen with students.

📚Spirit mist is just magic particles that appear when a trapped spirit enters the demon world (this is entirely my idea I don’t know for sure if they have this but I could see that this is what happens when magic goes wrong.)

📚It can also happen where there are disruptions of magic in their world which create imbalances and open doors to sealed dimensions.

📚Happens a lot if humans are around and if they are weak it allows spirits to have the access to enter.

📚Magic like that can also occur at the school so you have to be very careful in dealing with it.

Classes

📚Obviously, they have a magic class which is where they learn how magic works, how to cast spells, and how to undo the spell.

📚Depending on the student’s powers they have specific classes for that which would be an elective.

📚They have the school subjects humans have too but since they learn quickly it doesn’t take them very long to understand how to do things.

📚Magic takes longer to learn.

📚History is a little different because they have to learn about the wars that went on in their world.

📚Every student falls asleep in those classes.

📚Karlheinz takes pride in these classes because it talks about the wars he has been through and so much more.

📚They have history lessons based on him solely, the king--because he’s so important.

📚Students are required to pass with an A, if they don’t they have to retake it.

📚There are literal history books on him and he even has one that he wrote, it's a first account and the students are required to read it and write a paper on it.

📚There are presentations and appreciation reports in this class that must be completed.

📚It’s taken very seriously and students have to memorize facts about him.

📚There are several history classes too on all the sub-races and founders because it's important for the students to know the history and why their kind do not get along with others.

📚Total brainwashing, I know.

📚There are books and honorary classes about him that students also have to take.

📚They teach things like dance more specifically ballroom dancing bc they have to know it to attend a royal ball.

📚They even have class on manners for when they are at ceremonies and royal gatherings.

📚It’s very ridiculous (at least to us) but they think it is very important.

P.E

📚Sports are brutal and not human-friendly.

📚Dodge ball? More like a fireball.

📚Boys can only participate in this.

📚They have basketball and other related sports.

📚Students use their powers during games and it gets brutal.

📚The girls can only do dance or gymnastics.

Cafeteria

📚So as I said before Karl brings human culture into this so there is human food bc vampires and Viboras have taken a liking to it.

📚However, they do have human b|ood bags.

📚They are lifeless humans that are kept for the school for vamps mostly.

📚They don’t utter a word and are not allowed to.

📚Of course, they are preserved with magic otherwise they’d become ghouls.

📚It’s easier for them to feed from them because they stand still.

📚Which can be boring for them so that’s why in the human world they like the chase.

📚Everyone has specific table groups because there are all these cliques.

 📚You have nerds, jocks, artists, etc. All those kinds of things. Even magicians.

📚And you can best bet there are mean girls as well as gossip.

📚In fact, there is a heavy amount of gossip in the demon world.

Rules

📚Tend to be s*xist in most times.

📚The girls can only wear skirts. No shorts

📚They need to be polite.

📚They have less education than males. On purpose!

📚Not allowed to participate in all sports only some.

📚Guys cannot do certain sports either.

📚Classes are not split but the sports teams are.

📚Students are not allowed to use powers because it could ruin the building.

📚But Karl could give less of a shit if a student set fire to another.

📚just don't ruin the building

📚You could be expelled for ruining the property because you have no respect for the vampire king and the establishment he has provided for you.

📚Talking shit about him is illegal too.😂

📚Touching the S brothers' bride is also illegal. Like you will be kicked out and shamed.

📚If you are referring to the vampire king you must address him with great respect.

📚I read in one of Reiji’s game routes that he refers to Karl, as “our lord father,” and there was a lot of things that implied Karl to be the God of vampires which differs from the one of humans so I’m not surprised if he’s addressed as Lord or something.

📚There is a statue of Karl, which is kept well and students must bow to it each day and anytime they pass by it.

Perks

📚There are none actually.

📚Although women tend to fawn over the Sakamakis because they know that they’re vampire princes and they'd like to have a secure spot as their princess.

📚Plus they know that one day they have to get married so the girls fight to be the ones they choose.

📚So they are always nice to them and try to get their attention.

📚Plus it would bring their families great honor if they married a prince.

📚As nobles or lower-ranking royals, they would move up in class.

📚Families even pressure their daughters to marry them if they have the chance to.

📚Some literally believe it's their purpose in life.

Specifics to the mood board

📚Dark object - there are many rooms in the school and one of them is a museum that holds a bunch of artifacts and objects which hold magic. The round object is an example of one of the dark objects.

It is probably used to house magic and during a spell, it releases magic for whatever purpose it may be. Whatever the case it doesn't do anyone any good if they use it.

Usually, when students get hold of these objects it never ends well. Mostly because they will unleash something they do not understand.

📚Girls looking through glass - because women have lower education they like to take a look at what the boys are doing in the classrooms bc they want to learn more.

📚Castle front exterior view - This academy is just a castle Karl once had and he turned it into an academy for royals and nobles.

📚Black Cat - Although most animals are dark and demented, cats are an exception. Well before their eyes glow red anyways. It is a common animal.

📚Yard - That is what the maze gardens look like actually.

📚Lock/Key - Everything is secretive and kept under lock and key. The school doesn’t let students access certain rooms either.

📚Spellbooks - These are some materials they use in class and they learn a lot of different spells, of course most know about the basics even if they cannot perform them, the point is to be familiar with them.

And those who can actually perform magic have more classes on this.

📚Magic mirror - Another example of a dark object however students have reverted to using this object in order to escape from their realm for a little bit.

The mirror shows your reflection, the only difference is that this reflection of yours acts on its own and can speak to you.

If you merge with it you end up inside the mirror the evil side of yourself takes over your body and pretends to be you around others.

I see that sometimes female students take advantage of the new girl and force her to use the mirror which has temporarily trapped them in there, and trade bodies with her. This has happened if the girl has a close connection the Sakamakis, however, it is temporary.

📚Spirit Hall - It's as I already mentioned before, magic gone wrong and an imbalance of magic.

📚Fire - It's to show the spell power and how some have special abilities so you can expect to see this at such a school.

📚Dragon - You will see them soaring in the sky, it's not a problem. It's completely normal.

Events:

📚They have some special parties where there are dances.

📚And every girl is trying to be all over the s brothers.

📚It’s where everyone has to be perfect.

📚The selection is also quite special (look further down to find more info on it).

📚There are spell contests

📚They have a school carnival every year and every student has to have a stand open or at least be a part of one in a group.

📚And then there are shifts so some will be on break while others will not be that way they can enjoy the stands too.

📚 It's much different for sure, I mean there are probably spell contests as a stand or whatever.

📚Although I would say that carnival is pretty close to the way humans have there’s.

📚Maybe only some things change cause the games might be more intense or whatever.

📚There's even a "feeding stand" so you can imagine how that goes.

📚Some students perform their magic as a show too.

Female students:

📚They wear uniforms as I've said before.

📚And they all have these cliques there in and they have fan clubs for the Sakamakis, cause you know they are vampire princes.

📚The groups are just completely toxic.

📚It's just bad I mean they will physically fight about it.

📚Like Shu has this group of girls who are always tagging along with him.

📚Actually, all the boys have a crowd of their own which I will get into.

📚There are always s*xist remarks towards them and guys still act like jerks.

📚There is still harassment and dating is pretty much the same.

📚It might not be allowed, most break this rule and just try to be discreet about it in front of teachers but then all the students know who's with who and so on.

📚The only thing that may change with dating is that it's a little more formal.

📚And courting definitely exists.

📚It's actually how the boys approach women they have an interest in.

📚It isn't super modern.

The selection

📚This is entirely my idea (so don’t steal) but there is this even called the selection in which the Sakamaki brothers will eventually choose a bride they will marry (vampire or human, totally up to them.)

📚And so there are gatherings and balls that are hosted in order for them to meet and greet and girls from their school are so very excited about it once Karl announces he’s hosting one for one of his son(s). 

📚It’s such a long process and I’d need to make a separate post on bridal selection, let me know if you guys want that.

📚Anywho, usually their father tries to find possible matches which he invites and the prince is also allowed to choose a variety of women so he can get to know them.

📚They can choose whoever they’d like to meet, and they have to choose various ones actually.

📚And not every girl from a royal family gets invited.

📚You see there are tests girls must pass in order to obtain a guaranteed spot as a guest at the events. 

📚Of course this doesn’t mean she’ll be chosen but she will at least be in the event.

📚There are certain requirements Karl is looking for so things can always change.

📚The funny part is choosing who to invite rather than meeting them in person as they first see paintings of the potential candidate and read a letter about each bride, sorta like a biography of the girl.

📚And from the paintings Karl and his son(s) (depending on who’s marrying), decide which ones they like.

📚And they have declined sometimes.

📚Of course before this part the girls go through training and specific schooling in order to be royalty as they grow up and when they are finally of age.

📚If they have a certificate from the school then the school will write a great report/biography on the potential bride which leads to the whole painting and biography decision-making I mentioned.

📚Anywho after they decide who they will invite there are like 50 guests and it just keeps getting lower with 12 (or less) different events.

📚They are all meant to test the brides and have the prince decide what he will keep and eliminate.

📚The events they go through vary sometimes if the prince has a specific request.

📚Overall it's a long process and I’d have to explain this in a separate post if you guys are interested about the selection and weddings in DL. (like vampire weddings and weddings with human brides let me know.)

📚Oh and one more thing, this is why girls at the school are nice to them too.

📚They really want to be picked and are curious.

Sakamakis: their images & how they act at school

📚Now, generally speaking, the boys act much differently in the demon world because they have an image to maintain and there are a lot of expectations.

📚And you know their dad is kinda strict.

Shu: 

📚Mr.popular, like he has a line of fan girls surrounding him, cause he’s the heir.

📚He’s honestly a piece of shit bc knowing that the girls praise him he gets away with a lot of stuff.

📚They do anything for him.

📚Like if he said to ransack a teacher, they're doing it.

📚They make him food, they buy him things, and they ask him dozens of questions.

📚Although he is actually really annoyed, he can’t show that bc he’s supposed to be polite and stuff as a prince.

📚The girls think he’s perfect and really want to be close to him so that's why they are so loyal to him.

📚His fangirls fight within their group about him too.

📚 There are literally rivalry groups about this dude.

📚It annoys the rest of his brothers even, especially Rei.

📚Like the girls have even fought about it psychically and it's gotten to be such a problem that Reiji told him to handle it.

📚And if it wasn’t enough Karl told him to handle it.

📚They have made him mad before but have learned their limits.

📚He likes to play music and that's where the girls usually find him, in the music room.

📚Girls will literally lie and say they’re pursuing music so they can get his attention/just to be around him.

📚And he knows that they’re just in it for him

📚He’d be most attracted to a girl who doesn’t even know of his own existence.

📚So if she doesn’t acknowledge him, he wants to pursue.

📚He plays at certain ceremonies and gatherings the school has because Karl insists because he wants his favorite son to be present.

📚Karl gets upset if he doesn’t show up, and so he pressures him to attend things he doesn’t want to.

📚But Shu goes because he doesn’t want to go to the north pole again or worse. So he participates in all the events.

📚Karl also aspects him to bring someone to a dance and there was probably one time when he didn’t bring a date and Karl was very mad about it.

📚Karl knows he’s lazy in the human world but he doesn’t tolerate it here.

📚Not one bit.

📚So he’s on his best behavior.

📚Harrassemnt is allowed at school so if he’s being perverted teachers don’t say anything cause you know he’s a prince.

📚So he’ll openly harass.

📚Doesn’t date, but screws chicks whenever he feels like it.

📚But he’s picky, he’s never screwed one chick from his fan clubs and it makes them mad.

📚He’s purposely slept with girls that have had an interest in Rei just so he can change their mind.

📚Cause he claims he’s better.

📚He even steals the girl away from Rei and vice versa.

📚loves competition if boys challenge him to win a girl, even if he doesn’t like her he’s still gonna do it cause its fun.

📚Stands a lot girls up bc he’s such a jerk.

📚Reiji gets mad and tells him to not put such a thing on the family name because it could cause a backlash.

📚Is more talkative than you’d think because if he isn’t it looks bad and you know he can be more of himself.

📚Since he can speak Latin he is sometimes required to demonstrate Latin spells for classes that are for first years or whatever.

📚And he’s really good at it.

📚He uses it if he’s in a play that his father directs.

📚As an elective he’s in a fencing class.

📚And the girls love watching him.

📚He’s not allowed to have his headphones at school but he sneaks them.

📚Reiji likes him here a tidbit bc he doesn’t get to slack off as much.

📚Even tho he doesn’t study if his fangirls want to he will and they just praise him for his knowledge and Rei can’t stand it.

Reiji:

📚Charms the girls because he acts like a gentleman.

📚He really loves being in the demon world because he can be more of himself.

📚And although he’s formal he will lose his formality with a girl which piques his interest.

📚Gives lectures/presentations in classes because the teachers like how he is so on point.

📚And he takes pride in it.

📚He also demonstrates for a lot of classes.

📚He TAs for the history class that is about his father.

📚The school asks him to tour new students too because he knows so much.

📚In fact he’s part of the student council cause his father wants someone to represent him while he’s gone. 

📚He tutors students when teachers ask him.

📚And he really takes pride in everything he does.

📚If you make a mistake he expects you to apologize to him cause he’s a prince so.

📚May have dated one or two chicks at the school but not too many.

📚He has a good amount of girls who praise and fawn over him a lot.

📚Of course it's mainly just to get on his good side and try to climb on social ladder and he knows this.

📚Deep down he thinks the girls are pathetic for doing that and is annoyed with people.

📚He likes being smart but finds it annoying when people only think of him for that.

📚He’d be interested in a girl who doesn’t look at him for his knowledge.

📚And if she could make him care less and show that status and impressions are not important to her, he likes that.

📚When I say impressions I mean that she doesn’t think too highly of first impressions bc its usually when people are acting their best which is usually a letdown in response to their true character.

📚Of course she herself has to be smart in order for him to take some interest.

📚She’s probably someone who doesn’t put herself out there enough even tho she excels in a lot of things herself.

📚And it's definitely the kinda girl who isn’t a good girl nor a bad girl, she’s got a mix of both so it keeps him interested.

📚However, she’s got a pure heart despite the fact that she has a wall up in front of others.

📚Aside from this he will call people out for their mistakes.

📚Even the teachers.

📚He’s still discreet about things but doesn’t care if people see him intimately interacting with a girl.

📚There was one manga panel where he was going to suck Yui’s b|ood in the middle of the school hallway or something and he told her that he didn’t care if someone saw.

📚So it doesn’t surprise me that he’s a little careless and somewhat openly harassing (to a bride).

📚Especially if the girl has pushed him to his limits and he doesn’t want to hold back anymore.

📚Honestly she doesn’t do anything, he just can’t control himself.

📚He still scolds his brothers and gets upset if they try to take away the attention of a woman he’s interested in.

📚Laito did this once and he was not happy.

📚Reiji really likes being back home and feels like he can relax a little bc his brothers are more well-behaved because they don’t want to deal with their father.

📚So he gets to relax a little more and he’s able to be himself with his vampire culture and all that.

📚It's easier because people understand him more and he can use his powers freely.

📚It also gives him the chance to show off and keep a nice image for his father which he is so fond of.

📚On one note though, he doesn’t actually admire his father at least at some point in the games he claims him to be ridiculous by being involved with humans.

📚Rei’s gotta lot of pride.

📚Plus I mean I’m certain Reiji has his eyes on the crown but I guess one of his bigger intents may be to even end his family (according to games).

📚I know it’s never been stated that he wants to take his place (shu’s) but I just feel like his initial aim, if he sees that Shu never gains responsibility, is to be next in line and rule as king.

📚It just seems like something he’d want to take after his father because he looks up to him to such a degree.

📚So yeah that's also why he cares a lot about his image cause he’d like to be king one day. Although he wouldn’t necessarily fight for it either, he’d just hope that his efforts are enough to catch his father's attention. 

📚He gets annoyed when a girl asks him about Shu just cause they are related.

📚Reiji tries to change the girl’s mind and “educate” her about what she should look for in a guy.

📚The crazy part is how it tends to work.

📚I also would like to say that I hc that he doesn’t wear his glasses in the demon world.

📚Simply because it would be weird if a vampire had a weakness.

📚I know his eyesight is a mystery but I think he wears them for insecurity purposes.

📚I think he is quite insecure because he wasn’t his mother's favorite/etc so he feels the need to do so much.

📚And he may not like his eyes and by putting glasses on he’s able to hide them.

📚However, because he has too much pride, in the demon world, he never wears them because he wants no one to think he has an eye problem or that he’s insecure.

📚So he honestly never wears them there.

📚So we get a really attractive Rei. Aren’t we lucky~?

📚He still does his experiments tho, but that never changes, actually the teachers praise him for his work and he’s a fairly busy guy.

📚I mean he like runs the science department.

📚But you know because he’s part of the council he is like really busy and he is just an attraction to a lot of girls cause dude this hot rei without glasses were talking about here like???!!

Laito:

📚Flirts with the teachers if they're all for it.

📚Of course he does need to make sure he’s careful because some may report him for it.

📚But he flirts with all of the female students and he does it in a way where he charms the girls.

📚He is also still a pervert but since most are brainwashed into marrying a prince they completely overlook the way he is.

📚Plus vampires have a higher s*x drive than humans in general so it’s also why they may not think he’s all that pervert.

📚And what he does in the human world such as as$ault is not allowed bc Karl doesn’t want to deal with that kind of stuff.

📚So Laito doesn’t go very far here bc he doesn’t want to deal with his father.

📚He stays clear of him because initially, he does hate him.

📚But he is still a big-time play boy.

📚And girls are always around him, wanting to be his.

📚Which is such a challenge because even if he is giving to a lot of them he’s not picking anyone.

📚It’s also difficult for them to impress him because they don’t know what he wants.

📚Plus they don’t know that he has a hatred towards women.

📚So deep down he is somewhat annoyed by the women and I think he’d be interested in finding a girl who didn’t focus on boys or dating.

📚And someone who wasn’t so stuck on attraction, I think he’d want her to be someone who focused on much more important things.

📚And if she’s a little shameless with certain things it's a bit of a spark.

📚Latio would find it very interesting if she was able to make him speechless with her words.

📚That’d have him hooked.

📚So she’s someone who observes more than she talks.

📚Anyways, he acts like himself for the most part always surrounded by women and doing something scandalous.

Kanato:

📚Like Reiji, he feels much more at home because ppl don’t actually bother him.

📚He’s pretty much able to do whatever he likes.

📚Although he’s less psycho here because his father doesn’t allow him to make dolls (it’d have to be someone insignificant but even then he doesn’t want people to find out about things like that because they have an image to maintain.

📚Italian spells

📚He might know Italian or something because I remember reading some spell he said once and it was in Italian so he must know it. 

📚Of course I’m not 100% sure but if he does, he’s been asked to perform his spells since he’s probably pretty good.

📚Considering that his mom is a demon, he is partially too so that might be why he can control fire.

📚So it also wouldn’t surprise me if he’s good with spells too.

📚It’s like his thing and he feels confident about it.

📚And I see that he totally digs witches, if they exist in the demon world, (they might).

📚And it wouldn’t surprise me if he was in Italy way back when witches were believed to be real by humans.

📚That’s also why he may have learned so much.

📚Anyway, I think he is still deemed somewhat as psychotic and he’s neglected by the family.

📚In fact, they don’t include him in all of the gatherings and events because they know he’s crazy.

📚Me and @mikalara-dracula hc that Karl doesn’t want to admit the fact that his son is crazy (even for their kind).

📚Although all of his brothers know he is.

📚Because of this, Karl lets him do almost anything he wants as long as he doesn’t kill anyone or make a scene at school or during important events.

📚Which he never seems to bc he either doesn’t attend or when he does he actually wants to be there which means he’s much calmer that day.

📚Plus theirs food.

📚Although apart form the psychotic part he is pretty romantic and flirty with girls, so if there are girls who take interest in this little prince he has to do his best to not lose his cool.

📚He somewhat hates it but kinda likes it because they pamper him and are like total doormats he can use to his own advantage.

📚He doesn’t date but he f*cks a lot of girls, even in front of teachers if they walk in on him.

📚And if a female classmate walks in on him having s*x and he notices he keeps bothering that girl merely for his own amusement.

📚Plus he wants to make her fall for him even if she’s not interested.

📚And its weird because with women he’s surprisingly a different person, he’s honestly so nice and romantic to them its strange.

📚But he does bully girls if he finds it interesting and especially if she’s not interested in him.

📚His goal is to corrupt any royal princess or noblewoman that he knows.

📚He doesn’t like it when they take away his time with his dolls.

📚Kanato literally calls the girls that fawn over him his “toys” or “little dolls/my dolls” and little do they know what that means.

Ayato:

📚Pranks the teachers and gets into loads of trouble.

📚He’ll start fights with rivaling schools and even vibora students.

📚And Rei is sooooo mad.

📚But he does cause less damage than in the human world bc he fears for his life when it comes to his dad.

📚He has gotten in fights with Subaru sometimes and Subaru always wins.

📚He’s got a lot of stupid friends.

📚They bully girls cause they think they can take advantage of them and guys that they think are wimps.

📚There isn’t much to him.

📚He can use his powers freely he doesn’t have to hide them because there are no humans around and even if they are it doesn’t matter.

📚He pretty much does whatever he wants.

📚But he doesn’t act much different he may just follow some rules a bit more, cause remember his dad.

📚I think he is a bit of a playboy at school and there is competition between him and Laito since they look alike and a lot of girls tend to like him.

📚Since vampires are s*xist he flexes on being the best and loves it when girls praise him cause he’s a prince.

📚It’s just disgusting from how egotistical he is.

📚I mean he’s already an @ss but forget when he’s in the demon world since he’s so acknowledged.

📚Everyone knows who he is, and he hates it. Mostly because people actually bother him or try to get his attention because he’s royalty.

📚He’s always trying to ditch crowds and sometimes he doesn’t go to school because he doesn’t want to deal with the drama.

📚Some guys try to pick fights with him and he gets annoyed af.

📚He’s not much different than he is in the human world.

📚He doesn’t talk much and tries to not be involved.

📚Is so annoyed by Laito and all the women he’s around.

📚Pretends he doesn’t know his brothers honestly.

📚He just like doesn’t talk to anyone and just makes sure his dad isn’t on his case about his poor grades.

📚Even if he likes a girl he doesn’t approach her because he doesn’t want to deal with his family.

📚Plus his insecurity is something that really hinders him from doing what he wants.

📚He’s also worried Laito will ruin it cause he tends to get involved if he’s interested in someone.

📚Girls are also interested in him but they are intimated a little since he is a little brash.

📚He has a harder time controlling his anger since he doesn’t need to hide his power.

📚Is easily ticked off.

📚Sometimes he gets cornered by girls who like him and ask him questions so he knows he can’t act out but he quickly tries to bore them so that they leave him alone.

📚But honestly they will love anything he says cause he’s a prince and a lot of these girls have been brainwashed into thinking that marrying the prince is one of the best things ever.

📚I said this in my hcs for the boys at school in the human world but I’ll say it even here that he probably has a journal he writes in and he listens to music.

📚He tries to be unnoticed by everyone and tries to hide his identity.

📚Literally I feel like he’s tried to change his appearance by dying his hair and putting contacts in just so people wouldn’t bother him.

📚He hates going to school but only goes cause he doesn’t want to deal with his dad.

📚He, like Shu, does the bare minimum to pass.

📚Other than that he just wants to be alone and honestly kinda hates being there.

📚I think the demon world is a place full of bad memories for him.

(sorry, english my second language) my theory for one of the reasons why trey is perceived differently in the west as being less appealing or not so attractive compared to the likes of malleus is simply cause he wears glasses

something i observed in mainstream western media in particular is that, wearing glasses is perceived as unattractive/unappealing or too nerdy or not sexy (we all know it’s not true don’t get me wrong) compared to jp media where glasses can be seen as hot

i think azul also falls for this, cause there’s so many azul simps in jp but he still gets to appeals more in the west compared to trey cause of the mafia aesthetic he got going on also tumblr sexyman vibes

I mean... while I do think the stereotype of "only unattractive geeks wear glasses" does appear in many western productions (especially those set in high schools), I feel like that sentiment no longer has the same prominence. This is due in part to changing trends (the west has adopted a lot of interest in Asian media/art as of late, part of which does often employ glasses as fashion pieces, such as in the case of K-pop) and new technology (more technology use/reliance means more and more of the general population need vision correction, so glasses and contacts are becoming increasingly common).

On the flip side, it's not as though glasses aren't associated with being "nerdy" in eastern cultures. After all, there is an entire anime/manga trope called the megane (literally "glasses") character, which often refers to an smart, rational, and stoic individual. They are also typically the “brains” or the voice of reason in a cast of characters. So… glasses are also definitely associated with “being smart” in the east; this even comes through in some character dialogue. In Trey’s Halloween vignettes, for example, Azul states that he explicitly chose to wear glasses for vision correction because others are more likely to perceive glasses-wearers as being intellectual.

I also feel like it goes both ways in terms of perceiving glasses as hot or not?? I personally have not noticed a huge gap between the east/west in terms of attraction in regards to one wearable item?? I feel like it just depends on individual tastes (because some people are just into the “nerdy” look), of maybe there isn’t that much of a “choice” irl anymore since more and more people need corrective lenses anyway.

Ultimately, I don’t think it’s the glasses that matter, but the person behind the glasses does. Like… if you slapped a pair of glasses on Malleus, does that automatically not make him attractive anymore? If you took away Trey and Azul’s glasses, would that automatically make them 10x hotter than they looked with them? (There is plenty of fan art which depicts these scenarios; there’s a reason why people make them despite loving the originals.)

If such a difference does exist solely because of glasses, I’d imagine the effect is negligible, not so significant that it explains the large gap in popularity between Trey and Malleus. (Azul was mentioned as an example of a glasses character who became popular in the west despite the glasses because of his appeal as a mob boss, but it feels like this case just shows that it’s the character himself and not the glasses that make fans love him.) There are much bigger factors at play (between the being a normal human/an actual dragon fairy prince, the design appeals, less screen time/being the Final Boss and important figure in the main story, and a lowkey personality/lots of hype and a strong presence) for this observed Trey-Malleus disparity. Malleus is just a more “exciting” character when compared to Trey, and that catches the attention of the more individualistic, often action-oriented culture of the west.

Honestly I don't know if I'm remembering it wrong due to sleep deprivation, but out of everything in TOTK one of my favorite little details is that Zelda's eyes in her Divine Noodle (affectionate) form when Demon King's flames hit or graze her tremble a little, more so around the pupils than the iris

The implications are absolutely delicious when you think about it, either it's an expression of deep seated, primal fear which she would probably feel as a dragon even if her main instinct is to help Link, it makes sense she'd feel distressed when faced with a bigger predator if we assume the dragons actually work like wild animals (I mean have we looked at Demon King's full size and length? He absolutely overshadows her and he's clearly going in for the kill, what with that initial bite, he's clearly not only gunning for Link and for Hyrule but also for her specifically), because Zelda by nature is not a warrior, she will fight for her people and to defend her people but she's not one to start the conflict, she's not one to HUNT, so when faced with something actively doing so it makes sense she'd be a little afraid, just because you are made to fight the divine threat from birth doesn't mean you can't fear death in the process('Courage is not the absence of fear but the will to rise against it even when you're afraid' and all that), immortality or not and trust me I'm getting to that part-

And arguably the more interesting implication: that dragons can feel pain/get hurt from other beings in a similar status, which also puts their immortality into question. Because that little twitch can also be because the flames actually hurt her.

One thing I always found interesting in TOTK is the dragon skeletons deep down in the Depths, they're parallel with the Leviathan skeletons, sure, but the fact that the dragons that we know can come and go from the depths and that there are actual skeletons there makes me look at them side by side and think "Oh those are dragons" rather than Leviathans, which begs the question: what could have killed them if dragons are immortal and can live for such long periods of time? What could have killed them when none of our weapons (including the Master Sword mind you) can't hurt Naydra, Dinraal, Farosh and Zelda in a way that matters?

I think the best answer in this case is given to us by Zelda's reaction (assuming I'm not wrong and didn't just imagine it due to sleep deprivation) to the Demon King's flames.

Maybe, just maybe, what caused them to die was likely another dragon. Which means that dragons can actually die, just not through age or natural means, but have to actively be killed through the right means/being for it to stick. Which also tracks with a lot of divine lore in LOZ in general, Demise/Ganondorf only being able to be brought low by the Master Sword wielded by someone who posseses the Hero's Spirit (or that has become worthy of it is we see in Wind Waker) because it's quite literally a divine blade, Hylia actively giving up her immortal form to become a mortal but still slumbering/existing in a separate realm outside of time can also be considered a form of divine death, not to mention Bellum being in the process of killing the Ocean King in Phantom Hourglass. Divine beings have always had an element of mortality to them in LOZ, and it's not too much of a stretch to think that pattern might hold true in TOTK.

(Personally I think maybe the dragons we know might have killed the others in a territory/route dispute, if we go with the fact that a person loses themselves when they consume a secret stone and is guided by their base instincts/whatever goal they had before becoming a dragon, I don't think territory disputes would be all that far fetched, or some other goal which would motivate possible aggression.)

Although there's also the other possibility to consider: we get the armor set of the wild on the heads of those skeletons in TOTK, and we know for a FACT there was a hero before BOTW/TOTK Link, not only through the Ancient Hero's Aspect (which I have so many thoughts/headcanons about) but also through the tapestry in BOTW no matter what the heck happened to the lore in between games, you can still work with the information that there was a hero before BOTW/TOTK Link, and possibly one even before that one if we assume the armor set in the depths isn't from the Original Calamity Hero.

What I'm pitching here basically is, Original Calamity Link/another possible Link was likely a dragon slayer (not uncommon among Links, but how many Links killed an actual possibly divine dragon?), and possibly the one to kill the dragons in the depths and that maybe, just maybe we should have a game one day or a manga which either clarifies or debunks that- wait I know it sounds insane but listen stop walking away-

(Also if it's indeed a sign that Zelda feels pain it honestly ramps up Wild's/TOTK Link's motivation to kill Ganondorf WAY up because I too would want to eviscerate anyone who hurt Zelda even if she can't outwardly show it.

Also also- divine flame scars on Zelda where the gloom fueled fire grazed/hit her in her dragon form, you wouldn't be able to see it normally, but once she turns back into hylian they're there as another showing of how her time as a dragon will always stick and haunt her.)

A Review of “Kung Fu Panda 4 (2024)”

I love the Kung Fu Panda trilogy! The 3rd movie felt like a nice wrap-up for the series. However, modern movie studios just can't give up on milking a franchise. Now we have a 4th entry in the series. Is this movie justified, or is it just another cash grab?

Jack Black is still great as Po. He still hasn't lost his charm and continues to deliver a hilarious and charismatic, vocal performance. I also love that his character Po is still a badass dragon warrior. He is always the most skilled fighter in the room and I am glad they didn't make him weaker for the sake of it. Awkwafina is again voicing another sidekick character. She is fine but that is mostly because her character isn't written to be unbearable and that makes Awkwafina bearable. Their characters do have a fun buddy dynamic throughout. Speaking of buddy dynamics, it was nice to see James Hong and Bryan Cranston return as Ping the Geese and Shan the Panda again. Po's fathers have their own, fun mini-adventure in the movie.

The animation is beautiful. Not to the extent of other dreamwork animated movies such as How to Train Your Dragon or Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. However, it looks very appealing for the most part. The action scenes are still very entertaining with its well choreographed Kung-fu scenes. It was also nice to see Ian McShane return as Tai Lung even though it was clearly done for nostalgia bait.

Unfortunately, the story is predictable and boring. Po is required by Master Shifu to pick the next Dragon Warrior but Po doesn't want to and wants to remain the Dragon Warrior. This idea in itself, can be very interesting as he could potentially have to choose between his friends, The Furious Five. Sadly, they are not even in this movie so instead we get a new character in Zhen played by Awkwafina. Oh wow, I wonder who Po will pick…

Po and his dynamic with The Furious Five have always been a highlight but removing that, makes this less interesting. The villain, The Chameleon, is also extremely underwhelming. She can steal the Kung-Fu of martial artists, including previous movie villains. Her motives are weak and her presence is just not menacing enough. They try to say throughout that Po might finally meet his match but they don't do a good job of convincing us that this is true. If anything, the big final battle feels like the easiest fight that Po has ever had so far. How is The Chameleon a threat if the Furious Five weren't even needed?! Ke Huy Quan is also in the movie but his character has no depth at all so it feels like a glorified cameo. Additionally, many of the jokes didn't land. I hate that they leave awkward pauses cause they clearly thought we the audience would laugh.

Overall, this 4th movie had no reason to exist. The story is not meaningful enough to justify its existence. This will be the start of the second trilogy but the ending itself doesn't do much to make me interested in more. The ending is a fine ending to wrap up the series (again). Hopefully, the 5th entry is a lot better and this time, make sure The Furious Five are actually in the movie!

"The Vampiric Bloodletter"

"Out of all the dragons I've seen and studied, along with the one's I've only heard of in passing conversation, the Bloodletter wasn't one I thought truly existed. Tales of a bright red dragon with ten eyes that drank blood...? Seemed too much like an old story to scare children but it seems this nesting year at the colony has proven me wrong.

I noticed the new egg amongst a clutch of Monstrous Nightmare eggs, an odd oblong shape with a dark red shell amongst the pale orange-pink eggs certainly stood out. Moving the egg wasn't an option so I left it. Come hatching day I kept a close eye on the nest, only to find an entirely unique dragon to hatch with the Monstrous' brood. At first I figured it was a case of hybridism but that theory was dropped quickly, after all just one hybrid offspring in a nest of six didn't make sense. Not to mention the tiny-tooth's features, ten eyes that all were a dark black, unique extra digits that I assume are opposable to a degree and a notable blade on the end of it's tail.

So I can conclude that the Bloodletter is in fact a living and breathing dragon species, a colony or nest parasite from what I can tell but also it's behavior is still unique. From what I have observed the nestling has been acting like a Monstrous Nightmare, mimicking their vocal calls and behaviors which is fascinating. For now I see no need to try and relocate the dragon, nor do I think it's surrogate mother would allow me and I personally would like to keep my good record with her.

This will at least give me time to study it and hopefully pull together some proper information, since I fear the number of these dragons may only be in single digits... I've also noted while looking through some other old local legends that the Bloodletter shares some shocking resemblance to the few descriptions of the Lycanwing... I can't help but wonder if they're connected somehow, but that's research for another time." - Excerpt from "The Nature of Dragons", an extensive series of books and journals by a man named Salamander.

Class: Mystery

Size: 6 to 7 feet tall, with a wingspan of 10-11 feet at Broadwing stage - Titanwings are roughly 12 to 14 feet tall with a 20-22 foot wingspan.

Preferred Food: Dragon blood or incredibly fresh meat along with specifically certain organs of most creatures.

Status: Critical - Maybe only a handful of individuals exist on the surface world, that or they are just really good at staying away from people.

The Vampiric Bloodletter is noted for it's vibrant colors and unique features that assist with defending itself and securing it's specialized diet, due to the low amount of sightings and encounters little is truly known about them by humans. They are parasites in truth, spending a lot of time in flocks or colonies with other species so they can feed easily and also mimicking the dragons around them in terms of mannerisms for survival.

Their numerous eyes negates any blindspot they would normally have, along with this a forked tongue and heat sensing pits along their upper lips makes for the perfect tracking equipment. They have opposable digits on all their limbs that are topped with claws that are much like switchblades, used for further opening the bites they leave on other dragons or for defense - same to be said about the blade on their tail.

It's vibrant coloration is a classic animal warning system of "I'm toxic, stay away!". Seeing as they possess a highly potent venom which actually changes throughout their lives.

Tiny-Tooth to Shortwing: They can use this venom as a projectile to blind much like spitting cobras and generally deter threats to them. It's noted that it also stings if it makes contact with human skin. It has mild anticoagulant properties when administered via a bite along with slight numbing, think vampire bats.

Broadwing: The venom glands develop fully, producing a highly anticoagulant hemotoxin that causes numbing and disorientation even causing dragons to become incredibly drowsy. In humans it causes severe hallucinations, supposedly making one think that they're turning into a dragon.

Titanwing: Not much changes aside from more potency and the ability to even render some dragons unconscious for a certain amount of time after being bitten. Though at this stage they can afflict humans with something much worse, it's unknown how exactly it works but if a human is bitten by a Titanwing Bloodletter there is a chance they will be afflicted with the curse that is becoming a Lycanwing - if they survive the initial bite and the first shift that is...

WOO! Done at last!!

The Vampiric Bloodletter is one of my very few fanmade httyd species and I love how they came out!! Also if you couldn't tell these guys are my explanation for the Lycanwing legend, basically these guys are the ones that turn people to Lycanwings and somewhat go off of the description of the one in the story told by Gobber in RTTE. I have some more notes on them so uh if anyone has questions I will gladly elaborate on my fellas!

The fairiest of all 1/2

Note: Based on this ask, I basically wrote this...I don't even know what this is, but I like it. A lot. I'm currently jumping between this and four other wips. It's like my brain won't rest and just keeps on spitting out AUs. Anyway, my main source is Celtic mythology with some Fey Wanderer and Feylost from dnd. The reader is technically not a changeling, because they are actually the original human taken by the fairies. Also, this Dante is dmc anime Dante, because I think he does not get enough love. I'll be posting part two cause this is already too long and it expanded WAY above my expectations.

Rainbow Dragon

The existence of demons and the infernal lands they inhabit is widely accepted in Redgrave and the rest of the world. However, the other world almost mirrors ours. A place that is always changing, always shifting. A place up is down, light is dark and nothing is as it seems. Unlike the underworld, it's so deeply intertwined with ours that it's sometimes impossible to tell it apart. But if you look closer you just may catch fleeting sight of it.

You grew up in the World of the Fae after disappearing from your home plane as a child. Your parents made a pact with a Fairy that they'll get whatever they wish for in exchange for their firstborn. Only when they held a wailing infant in their arms they realized what they got themselves into. Faefolk is too whimsical and fleeting to take on the responsibility of raising a human child, but they did their best.

Living in this world shaped you, whether physically or psychologically. You're a bit too easy in your step, almost as if you were floating. When you're happy, you smell sweetly like nectar or honey. Your hair grows unnaturally fast. Flowers bloom in your presence. You have little to no concept of time and space. You can't keep still even when sitting down. You almost always space out, as if your consciousness was split between two worlds.

All good things come to an end. Your Fae parent realized that there's no place for a human in the Otherworld, and because they cared about you, they knew you have to go back. Being figuratively spat out of your only home after reaching what your Fae patron considered mature age was like a slap in the face. The beginnings were...rough. You quickly realized that the human world is completely different from the Fae world. To this day, there are still many things you don't understand, but you've grown to accept that.

As much as you wished to leave your old life behind, once you touch the veil, you cannot stay away from it. What about the family of Brownies that lives in your old apartment building? Or that Dryad whose tree did not get cut down because you almost turned the city upside down to get signatures for the petition? Do the locals feel safer after those disappearances caused by the Redcapes residing on one of the roads leading out of the city? And that Merfolk, about to be sold by the local mafia to be a pet of some rich asshole? Time and time again, you found yourself being pushed between two sides of the conflict of two worlds.

You realized the potential of a human acclimated into the world of the fae. And so, you became a mediator between the Otherworld and the human world. The fey warden guards the place where the veil unravels and takes care of unwanted visitors that step over it in one direction or another. Luckily, you have your fairy friends to help you with this task. Also the wide variety of skills and abilities at your disposal.

A fey mystique surrounds you. Now as a fey wanderer, you represent both the mortal and the fey realms. As you wander the multiverse, your joyful laughter brightens the hearts of the downtrodden, and your martial prowess strikes terror in your foes, for great is the mirth of the fey and dreadful is their fury. You are able to augment your weapons with mind-scarring magic, drawn from the gloomy hollows of the Unseelie fey. Your experience with the fey guarded your mind and sharpened your tongue. You are not easily charmed or frightened and your mouth can get you out of any sticky situation. The Seelie court has blessed you with the assistance of the fey. You can call forth fey spirits. You can slip in and out of Fey world to move in a blink of an eye.

With the life you have, you were sure that there's nothing in this world that could surprise you. You were about to be proven wrong.

You met at a fair. So inconspicuous, like you were just average people or people at all. Your senses were alerted of the otherworldy presence. You started scouting immediately, but after half an hour you gave up, hoping the perpetrator will reveal themselves eventually. To distract yourself, you headed to one of the stands to buy ice cream. Just as you were about to dig into your cone, you caught sight of a handsome man in the crowd. He was easy to spot, towering over everyone, tails of bright red coats fluttering dramatically around him, snow-white hair sticking out like a sore thumb. When his eyes met yours for a brief moment, you completely forgot your surroundings, causing you to walk into one of the striped poles that held the string lights. The ice cream ended on shoes. Drat.

The incident successfully got rid of any cravings for snacks, so you took your chance at the Ferris wheel instead. When it was finally your turn, you couldn't believe who they paired you up with. The ride was a little awkward at first. The man in red did not seem to want to strike up a conversation and you yourself were finding yourself at a loss for words. You noticed the big guitar case he was holding.

"Are you a musician? Will you be performing tonight?" You offered him your best charming smile.

The man looked at you in surprise. "Um, no...my performances are for...different crowd."

"Ooooh," you nodded in understanding. "So, you're some rock star who tries to go low profile, got it." You grinned. "Don't worry, your secret is safe with me." and you finished it with a cheeky wink.

He laughed. Finally, he laughed, and it was the sexiest sound ever. His blue eyes filled with mirth, few white strands fell to his face. "You seem to be more of a Funk person yourself." He looked you up and down and you felt yourself shiver like his gaze was a physical touch.

You lifted your arms in defeat, "Hey, everybody needs a little Groove in their life."

Dante opened his mouth, probably to say something charming, funny, or flirty, or that he's madly in love with you, hopefully. You never found out, because at that moment, right when you were at the top of the Ferris wheel, the machine jerked to a halt. If Dante hasn't caught you in his strong arms, you would've probably fallen off.

"Whew! That was close. Looks we're gonna be stuck here for a while-" You turned to him with a flirtatious grin, but Dante had the same serious glare with which he stepped into the booth.

Before he had any chance to react he jumped over the railing and down onto one support beam holding the wheel. That's when you noticed it. As vast as your knowledge of the various fey is, you've never seen a creature like this before. Something between a big lizard and a centipede, with a terrible grin filled with rows of razor-sharp teeth, was gnawing at the center of the Ferris wheel. That thing wants the entire thing to collapse, you realized.

As if it sensed your gaze, the monster had turned to you, a disgusting grin widening even more as if it knew about your realization. Your silent exchange was pierced by a gunshot and the lights of the attraction fizzled out, followed by several terrified screams.

What will you do? What can you do? You asked yourself as you watched the mysterious man in red discard his guitar case and pull out a huge claymore. You only gaped as he lifted it over his head like it weighed nothing and slashed at the monster.

The slippery bastard dodged, curling its slimy body away, and slinked away on one of the support beams towards another unsuspect person in the nearest booth, but not before disappearing out of sight with a few ripples over its scaly skin. Camouflage. It seems the hunter realized it too, because he stood frozen at the center point of the Ferris wheel, trying to locate the creature.

From the corner of your eye, you saw a ripple in the air. You wanted to yell at the man to warn him, but that would alert the creature as well. It seems a little bit of magic is needed here.

Dante was alerted by a bright colorful sheen right above him. When he lifted his head, instead of the demon he saw its silhouette outlined in the mysterious light. Without hesitating, he jumped up and slashed vertically. He was rewarded by a howling screech and one severed leg falling down. The monster decided to retreat into safety, now that its location was revealed. Unfortunately, it decided your booth is the best choice. When the beast noticed the tiny human hunched in the corner of the booth, it snarled menacingly. Fangs baring in the victory at the easy prey. Any normal human would shit themselves at this moment. If you were normal, that is.

You wasted no time in showering the beast in a cordon of incorporeal violet needles. With a hiss of pain, the monster leaped at you with renewed rage. At that point, the booth could not hold your combined weights any longer and collapsed. Dante watched helplessly as the booth dislocated from its position on the wheel’s rim. He tried to get to you with all the inhuman speed he possessed. Desperate to save you, a strange person with a bright sparkle in their eyes and a sweet scent tickling his nose. He can’t stand the thought of your eyes losing that bright sheen, to be just another voice to haunt him in his dreams. That’s when he saw it. Instead of erratic descent on the concrete, you were…floating down. As if you were riding on pixie dust, you were surrounded by golden sparkles, legs poised, ready for the descent, arms perched above you. He only extended his arms in silent shock as you gently settled into his arms.

You locked eyes for a moment and Dante desperately scrambled for the things to say. THE Dante Sparda was at a loss for words, and you didn’t seem to be doing much better.

“That was…uh…”

“Yeah…” You couldn’t help but laugh at the bizarreness of the situation. Your laugh sounded like the tinkling of the bells, and Dante felt a smile stretching his lips as if of their own volition. As if he couldn’t help but be happy around you. Who are you?

The small world you two were in was disturbed by a loud crash of the booth hitting the ground. “Let’s get out of here,” Dante exclaimed sternly as he carried you away from the situation. Your eyes were still trained on the broken booth, still wondering what kind of creature you just saw.

“It’s better if you forget what just transpired here,” Dante told you as you stood several feet away from the ruckus as the police and firemen secured the area around ferries wheel. He spoke to you while you were both looking at the scene, not once looking at you.

“What was that thing that attacked us?” You ignored his question and bite into a cookie you pulled out of the sack filled with baked goods. The monster attack seemed to reawaken your craving for snacks.

“You don’t wanna know.”

“You don’t know what I don’t want to know.” You parried between the munching. If there’s something that stayed with you since leaving the Otherworld it’s your love for wordplay.

All he did was shoot you an annoyed look. You realized that this is not the way to go and asked him instead, “All right, what type of creature are you then?”

He finally looked at you, and he was met with those bright, sharp eyes again. They made the knot in his stomach tighter, his throat a bit too dry. He’s attracted to you, and that really won’t do. Especially since you seem to see straight through him.

He turned away and started walking away. He was acting like a jackass, and you were so nice to him. Even offered him one of your cookies. Hopefully, it’ll be enough for you to be put off by him. But then he felt a small hand tug on his with surprising strength.

“I said wait! Where do you think you’re going? It’s rude to walk away when someone’s asking you a question, you know?” You put your hands on your hips and waddled a finger in front of his face.

You were putting his silent brooding tough guy persona under strain.

“Dante.”

“Huh?”

“Name’s Dante.” He blurted out. Damn, he wasn’t supposed to say that. You really making him lose his hard-earned control.

Well, at least you were getting somewhere. “Nice to meet you, Dante.” You extended your hand,and without a second thought, Dante grabbed it.

“So, ferris wheel may be closed, but other attractions are still open. What do say we tried shooting game?” “I…” “Awesome! Let’s go.” Without letting go of his hand, you pulled him after you. You knew you were pushy, but being carried by this guy princess-style gave you a new boost of serotonin and new hope to try again.

Dante watched the small palm resting in his hand and pondered how he got himself into this again. You’re just so…maddening, bubbly, and intoxicating, and the syrupy-sweet scent that clung to you was driving him mad. Just as he was about to excuse himself again you turned to him and gave him a dazzling smile that completely disarmed him.

“Oh, by the way, my name is…”

I needed some self-therapy this month, and my chosen method has been a monster-hunter genre game, cause I've been severely missing it for the last two years at the very least. This time, I've decided to bite the bullet and give Monster Hunter World a try, despite my very picky and allergic reaction to most of eastern titles, cause I had the feeling I could stomach some of my frustrations with the incentive of monster-hunting, and I was not wrong. (though some things still greatly frustrate me)

Here be my impressions of the first 10 or so, hours into the game (strictly solo experience for Reasons):

The weapon variety is honestly overwhelming for a newcomer to the series, but the katana, bow and insect glaive have definitely caught my attention. Their movesets are a joy to fight with, the glaive especially, plus you get a bug buddy))) and insane mobility options, what's not to love about it. From experience, I can guess that the chargeblade would also bring me much joy to fight with, but that is a weapon for more skilled players, I can see myself trying to check it out later.

(I think this gameplay is mh rise and not world, but all of these moves for the glaive still exist in world)

I can finally see why the fans were talking so much about ecology. Just watching videos is not enough to really show it, but you feel all the little things when you play the actual game. Before playing, I was thinking that 'dino-dragons that breathe fire do not exactly fit your standard ecology', that people just didn't know much of actual ecology to speak like that and at best, they meant that the monster design was influenced by irl animals. However, I understood what those fans meant when I saw that Anjanath, whoose pink and bald skin greatly resemble a vulture, mostly just patrols around and steals food from other monsters.

Pukei, the horrible trashchild that I grew to adore, is quite nimble and agile to fit through the dense forest canopy, which it HAS to do, as there are bits of the jungle where the hunters have to force themselves through tight vines, a dragon of larger size has to be flexible. The chameleon and gecko inspiration is very strong in this little bastard, and it fits perfectly into the jungle, where it resides. Also, the game doesn't have to explain to you that this guy changes the colour of his feathers when aggressive, and it works not just on a gamedesign level, but on the creature-design level too.

Barroth (?I think?) lead me to a large mud pit, in the lowest part of the map, down the riverbed, which, is, y'know, Logical, as water flows down the slopes. It fits so perfectly into that zone, it was clearly the monster's lair or favourite spot, as that monster has a few mud-related attacks and an armour buff.

These little things really ground the weird dino/dragon whacky designs and make the whole world really vibrant and come together wonderfully, they also make the that ecology aspect really shine. You don't normally see this attention to ecological detail in games, and it is clear that a lot of care went into making them.

(btw the binoculars are great, they also work as intended, because the colours of this game, while muted a bit, still are very distinct and bright, unlike otheR games that haD binoculaRs in them)

So yeah, I've been enjoying exploration and the world of this game a lot. On that note,

look at this toad. he is perfect. he deserves the world. I am very happy you can keep little guys in your tent (it's also the only reason to visit said tent)

I also really love that you can make your cat into a literal little gremlin. I adore him now, he too is perfect.

Now for the things that frustrated me.

Controls. The inability to remap inputs and clutch claw controls are atrocious. Apparently the game has walrunning, but I have no idea how to distinguish which surfaces it works on and which it doesn't. No manual jumping is very confusing at times, there are a few very specific places that I'm sure I should be able to climb, but the jump is automated and it didn't work, which just leaves me shrugging. That said, vine swinging is cool.

There are far too many menus with very overwhelming rpg stats, it's very hard to make sense or reason of any of them.

For the amount of tutorials the game just keeps Bombarding you with, which is annoying as hell, the weapon&armour upgrade and progression system is not explained at all. The upgrades seem to unlock at finding specific materials, but not All of them. This makes me feel like some weapons have better viability for new players, because they can be upgraded with materials from early monsters, and my go-to weapons apparently don't fit into that category, though I can't be certain of this. There are no perk explanations, so I gotta guess which perks are more useful and which aren't, though I'm not that far into the building anyway, so for a beginner it's not a big problem.

These are just inconveniences the new player has to deal with, but they are not gamebreaking in any way. The ten hours I've spent with the game have been very enjoyable, and I'd love to play more of it.

Splatoon and dinosaurs are simultaneously stuck in my head with no signs of leaving anytime soon and after seeing the post about what inklings think of humans I feel super motivated to dump all my headcanons relating to paleontology in the splatoon universe I definitely think mammals, especially marine mammals would be the "dinosaurs" to inklings and other sea creatures, land mammals and other animals like insects reptiles etc would probably be more akin to like, aquatic reptiles and pterosaurs where they're still popular and iconic but not really on the level of dinosaurs and may often get mistaken as one. I do feel like fossils of species before the Cenozoic could still be getting dug up and studied to this day though I don't know how much of an issue inaccurate reconstrucions of animals would be for them, I mean it definitely would still happen but I don't know if it'd be on like, Jurassic World level with a lot of shrinkwrapping and maybe marine mammal fins are reconstructed as having fingers instead, because assuming it hasn't just completely been ruined beyond recognition there'd definitely be statues, pictures, drawings, etc of former life that could be referenced by researchers and used to help them with reconstructions. I think the problem that'd come up would be trying to identify those resources to a particular species which could cause a mix up like a statue of a tiger being confused for a jaguar. And with drawings, if they reference something more stylized they could end up with a few incorrect traits such as a dolphin's eyes being larger than they actually are, and there's a bunch of species that aren't as popular as tigers jaguars and dolphins that wouldn't have so many things of them made so they don't really have a lot of reference material if they even have any, but like considering we are still making reconstructions of prehistoric creatures and have been evolving with their accuracy when we didn't have a sentient species documenting their appearance and behaviors I don't think that'd be much of an issue Mammals would 100% be used like dinosaurs are in media, a movie where people are exploring an ocean then somehow this killer whale just appears and starts eating them or something is something I can see existing in the splatoon universe.. PLENTY of documentaries about life in the Cenozoic for sure, I think that killer whales would be seen as a T. rex I mean it's a huge and super cool predator what else could it be, other dolphins would be seen as other large theropods, leopard seals would probably be seen as velociraptors etc Yeah normally with larger pieces of texts like this my wording might end up being weird or I didn't really explain something in a way that made sense but I think I got it pretty clear

i dont even know if i'm going to add anything to this bc i agree with pretty much the whole thing. TL;DR i think it's pretty clear that some mammals and land animals that are iconic in our day are also still popular in the Mollusc Era due to appearing in some of their items; and yeah this is likely because humans created so much stuff OF those animals that there is no way a lot of that isn't being found, dug up, and associated with the creatures. Marine mammals are the most relevant in setting to most creatures in the Mollusc Era, so those are also the most popular (we literally see an anthropomorphized manatee on a sweater in Splatoon 3); also i really hope there's a lot of academic arguing on whether some popular commonly depicted creatures like dragons or gryphons or trolls are real animals

What are the different types of dragons or draconic creatures on your world, where did they each come from, what defines them, and what are their actual taxonomic groups? I know some of your dragons seem to be fish while others are mammals, and they're made by different gods?

AH! I just finished making a little powerpoint with everything actually-- I can add the file real quick for an easy way to see the info of all the Anemoian animals i've made so far. Make sure to look in the notes for their description and not just on their slides.

All animals were made by Gods, cause man, creationism is fun when its a bunch of idiots bickering at eachother and trying to one up one another.

There are 4 types of draconic animals. (Draconic in this sense is like calling every small animal a bug. Its a term that only originally meant animals created by Exitium but has since expanded due to similarities in the animals.)

Old Dragons Drakes Pinnae Dragons Wyvern First, or Old dragons are an old sentient, reptilian species that was made by the fire god, Exitium. They were prominent when he ruled over Anemoi. These are only shortly mentioned in the powerpoint since theyre pretty much non existent by the time my stories take place. They were partly wiped out by a parasite caused by another god, and then almost entirely wiped out after Exitium went into dormancy. They fed off magic entirely and they were Homeotherms. Their bodies stayed at a consistently hot temp. They laid eggs

Drakes. Drakes were made along side the first dragons as a sentient species that fed off magic. They survived the great dying however, eating the flowers that grew on the mountain side after Exitium went into dormancy. Drakes, like Dragons were reptilian and their bodies were hot to the touch from magic consumption. When minor gods began to show up to take over the godless land, they were taken by them and changed into various animals to fit a variety of niches. There were once perhaps way more but over time some lineages went extinct, others were domesticated, and others went on to become the Drakes known to Anemoians. The old drakes use to breathe fire but modern ones instead have had their fire breathing capabilities turned into venom. Modern Drakes are on a metabolic spectrum. Some, like the fruk or ditch drake are ectotherms while Pero are endotherms. Most are warm blooded endotherms due to their size and need to stay active throughout the year. At some point ill have to do a little write up on Anemoian weather! I think ill actually do that for next months power point thing I do with friends. Most drakes are ovoviviparous, but some like the Fruk or Ditch drake also lay eggs.

There is one outlier, the Pop drake, who was created passively by Exitium when he went into dormancy. When his blood spilled, it covered the mountain in orange flowers that fed off his magic. These pop drakes eat these flowers. Pop drakes are homeotherms.

Pinnae dragons are dragons made by Pinna, Exitiums successor to God of Anemoi. After he took over the lands from the minor gods, he made Pinnae dragons. They all have a similar body plan thats close to how Pinna looks. They are all mammalian, giving live birth and feeding their young with milk. There is Major Pinnae, who are large and can breathe a chemical fire. These are important in Anemoian mythology and then the Minor Pinnae who are small animals and lack fire. You can see more info in the power point

Wyverns are a weird case. In Rrymes mourning; thinking Exitium was dead, she coped by creating her own dragons. She used a fish and with some suggestions from the fates (the oldest deities, there before earth was destroyed and recreated) she created pterosaur like animals with some very strange features. She created 3 wyverns, one for her shores and islands, one for the rivers of Anemoi, and one to watch over the grave of Exitium. They are all ectotherms, with the exception being the mountanious inland wyverns. Because they eat pop drakes, which eat pop flowers, which eat magic and ichor, they are homeotherms. The magic they consume keeps their body at a very warm temp.

I think thats it for the animal dragons. The rest of the dragons are in themselves gods, minor gods, demi gods or otherwise!

Nobody said all narcissists are the cause of abuse. You’re dense please stop spreading misinformation. Cluster b come from abuse, and have a higher tendency to perpentrate abuse. Nobody said all abusers are narcissists, you’re the only one here with black and white thinking my dude. Npd does have abusive symptoms and often it’s own unique sadism apart of the disorder among all the other symptoms. Npd do have a higher chance of repeating the cycle of abuse. Cluster b in general. Comduct disorder too which is linked with cluster b disorders in general- tend to have a lot of abusive and toxic behaviors blatantly listed. If you go to school for psychology you’d learn anywhere in the world these disorders can pose a threat to society

You should be wary of making statements like "nobody said X" because I can guarantee you someone out there did in fact say it (especially the ridiculous people at quora dot com). This is much more often implied than said outright as well, with many people armchair-diagnosing seemingly every toxic person they have ever known with NPD simply due to them being bad.

I have even seen Christian conspiracy theorists who unironically believe that narcissists secretly rule the world and are trying to subvert the church and family while also being some variety of supernatural monster (which I guess is correct in my case so I can't complain too much).

These people literally see narcissists as agents for the prince of darkness engaged in a hidden spiritual war against all that is good. That is how extreme it gets.

I have seen people with NPD described as vampires, dragons, sex demons, empty vessels for evil spirits, energy thieves from an alternate dimension, descendants of fallen angels, and more (often by the exact same people, who somehow don't seem to notice that their NPD lore is contradictory).

If you want to talk symptoms then let's actually look at them, because in case you haven't noticed "being an abuser" is not actually listed, and neither is any kind of sadism. There is no one-dimensional "bad person disorder".

Not only can you be a narcissist without having every symptom (most narcissists don't have them all) but also none of these are inherently harmful to others, especially considering their range of presentation.

For instance, here's how it is for me.

Furthermore, even beyond the harms to people with personality disorders specifically, I think any model that focuses on mental abnormalities when examining the "cycle of abuse" (which doesn't mean what you think it means, I think what you're thinking of is intergenerational cycles of violence) is going to miss the root causes of abuse.

For example, the idea that child abuse can be morally edifying and necessary to transform children (who are assumed to be inherently bad) into decent, respectful, and law-abiding adults. Over 90% of the world's children live in countries where it is completely legal to hit them as "discipline" because of these extremely common and accepted beliefs.

Many Christians in particular believe that children need to have their wills broken as if they were animals and that they are born evil due to original sin.

Ironically, such people often argue that they need to hurt and control their children like that in order to prevent them from becoming narcissists.

There's also the whole idea of children as property of their parents, which has existed for thousands of years and is still alive today.

These ideas are mainstream and widely supported without much examination.

Thinking about how we can be described as Other, according to Wildbow’s mythology in his web serials Pact and Pale.

An Other is a being that is not an “innocent” human or animal. They might be part human, but sliding toward undead or spirit or demon.

Actually, the categories we know about are incarnations, echoes, demons, spirits, gods, goblins, gouls, vestiges, oni, and a few others whose names we can’t remember. But the categories are human constructs and their edges are fuzzy and many things don’t fit well into them.

Anyway, our system origins and identities just happen to really fit into this world and its mechanics that Wildbow describes. All we have to do is imagine that it grants us certain status and power were we to be part of it. We have different names for what we are, but that often happens in the stories.

So, here’s our Palesona so far:

Our parents got together, started sharing the same bed, when their landlady was murdered in the apartment above where they lived. And then they moved into that apartment (if we are recalling correctly).

It is possible that that event got the attention of some Others, and it almost certainly created a ghost, or Echo, of their landlady.

Shortly after that, they got married and then they conceived us. We are not certain of the timeline.

This isn’t our true origins, but they’re close. These events really happened, but in Pact and Pale they could have these results.

Instead of conceiving an innocent human baby, something went a bit amiss, and their child was a composite of two Others. This resulted in a child that was autistic and intersex in subtle ways, but who also had two beings inhabiting them and making up their Self: Jenifer and Eh.

Both Jenifer and Eh are ancient. We haven’t finished figuring out just how they’d each be categorized as Other, but Eh at least is the vestige of a dragon. And Jenifer could be Fae, probably Winter court.

They could not work well together and there were some cracks in their composite being, so perhaps those cracks filled with nearby spirits, things from toys or the apartment, maybe the landlady’s echo.

This caused chaos.

At about two and a half years old, they all sought to manage their chaos by bringing in powerful outside help.

They found Phage, an Abyssal entity that identifies as Entropy Itself. Phage is an agent of change, that moment or series of events that occur between destruction and creation. It will ultimately tear everything apart, but in the mean time it creates beautiful intricacies in the process.

The three of them working together as a still incomplete composite being has a weird synergistic effect.

They create Echos of every person they catch even a fleeting glimpse of, and then incorporate those Echos into their being.

They can separate. They can bring anyone of them to the front, to become that being or person. And then can temporarily fuse and express themselves as a whole.

Jenifer can use her Glamour to alter people’s perceptions of reality.

Eh can channel element energies into direct powerful forces and is an agent of raw creation.

And Phage can cause things to decay and grow new life.

And together with all the Echos, they can reshape their body and behavior to imitate anyone, including fictional characters.

But, they were brought together in the birth and raising of a child of a couple of Innocents (humans unaware of the supernatural) who had a very supportive extended family and local community.

They were raised and taught how to be human in this way, with the only errors being the assumptions that they were male, neurotypical, and human.

This did result in trauma to their collective psyche, but that built up over time and didn’t come to a head until halfway through their 39th year of this existence.

People thought of them as weird, eccentric, off kilter, analytical, highly creative, empathetic, and compassionate, but lazy and easily distracted.

They spent much of their early life together daydreaming, and much of their legal adulthood drawing and writing.

They started a webcomic in 2001, and a comic making club in 2004. Both of these things attracted queer people to their lives in droves, bewildering and delighting them. Many of these queer people were Aware, and could see the Inmara for what they were, and some were also Others.

But the Inmara were so deeply in the habit of masking and pretending to be the person their parents had raised them to be that it took ten years after the founding of the B.S. of Comics for them to realize and admit their true natures, that they were trans, queer, and deeply Other.

It was at this point that their older, truer memories started to surface.

It didn’t happen suddenly, but over the course of several years, starting in 2009, when they married into a family of conservative Christians, some of whom were on the verge of being Aware.

The added stress of that cause their facade to begin fracturing, and they ultimately came out in 2015 when they could not hold it together any longer.

In the process, they lost their career, marriage, and house, and numerous friends drifted away.

But, they were taken in by a similar composite Other in the Portland area and her Aware girlfriend. And from their they slowly began networking with other Others and even a Practition or two (mages, witches, sorcerers, etc).

There’s a lot more to their backstory, but it would tend to make them vulnerable to share it, or even to become unraveled due to oaths of confidence.
