[PART ONE], PART TWO

so i had this thought and decided to elaborate on it, but i ended up having 1.5k words and i'm not even a third of the way done :,) so pls let me know if this would be something you guys would like more of!! this is my first time posting writing here except for a few snippets, so pls be nice but constructive criticism is welcome!

Eddie Munson didn't know how to swim. Growing up in landlocked states while despising every swimsuit he was ever presented with, it just made sense. He didn't need to know how to swim, there was no reason for it, and he was perfectly fine with it.

Until Max.

Specifically, until Max decided, after watching the 2020 Olympic swimming, that she was going to be an olympic swimmer. She kept bugging Eddie, begging him to sign her up for swim lessons with all the umph a six year old could muster.

And Eddie was a weak willed man, especially when it comes to his daughter. So he said yes.

Eddie spent the next week and a half researching the best swim instructors around, googling and calling and looking at reviews. Eventually, he settled for the Hawkins Aquatic Center. With it being relatively close, a 20 minute drive at most, and having the best reviews out of any and all other pools in the area, it was a clear winner.

So that Tuesday, while Max was at day camp, Eddie made the call.

“Hawkins Aquatic Center, this is Robin! How can I help you today?” One of the bubbliest voices Eddie had ever heard answered the phone, immediately putting him a little more at ease.

“Hi, I was looking to set my daughter up for some swim lessons?” He asked, hoping Robin didn't pick up on his slight nervousness.

“Of course! I just need a little information. Her name, age and birthday, and skill level is what I need now, and I’ll ask for some more information about you once we schedule.”

“Yeah, for sure. Her name is Maxine Munson, but everyone calls her Max. She’s six, her birthday is June 14th, 2014. She doesn't really… know how to swim?” As he gave her the information, his nerves almost doubled. He couldn't swim, he wouldn't be able to practice with her! What if she drowns? What if something happens? What if-

“Alright, Mr. Munson, I’m assuming?” Robin asked sweetly, interrupting his spiral.

“Uh- yeah that's- that’s me. You can just call me Eddie. Eddie Munson, at your service! Ha! Sorry, that was, like, super lame.” He cringed at his antics, but a bubbly laugh filled the phone.

“Got it, Eddie! So from the information you’ve given to me, it seems like it’ll be best to put her in our beginners class for kids under 7. We typically have two instructors that rotate throughout the week, but one of them is on paternity leave, so she’ll only be with Coach Harrington. There's two options for this class. Twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 to 5:30 in the afternoon, or three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays 5 to 6:30 in the afternoon. Do either of those work for you?”

Eddie hesitated. He knew how much enthusiasm Max had about swimming, but he was nervous about taking her so often. But the more time she can get in the water, the more she’ll practice. Plus first grade homework isn't terrible, so she’ll be able to continue when school starts up again.

“Eddie? You still with me?” Robin asked. He must have taken too long to answer.

“Yeah, sorry! Just, uh, just thinking.” He replied lamely.

Robin seemed to catch on to his anxiety. “A lot of parents are nervous about teaching their kids how to swim, I get it! But Steve, or Coach Harrington I should say, is the best in the area. He’s been an instructor here for a few years and loves it. There’s always lifeguards on duty and all of our staff are trained in basic first aid and CPR. Parents are always welcome to sit in on lessons as well, there's seating in the instructional pool area. Max will be in great hands!”

Eddie took a breath. Robin's ramblings helped put him at ease, knowing all of the precautions the center takes to keep everyone safe.

“Thank you so much, Robin. I think three times a week will work best, Max has been bugging me for weeks! I know she’ll be ecstatic when I tell her I signed her up.” Eddie can already picture her reaction, grinning and hopping around in excitement.

“Sounds great, Eddie! I can guarantee she’ll love it. So now I just need to ask you a few questions! I just need your email, the best phone number to reach you at, an emergency contact other than you, and we can get her all set!” Eddie breathed a sigh of relief, giving her the information she asked for.

“Alright, we’ve got her in the system! You guys can come in any time this week for a tour of the place and meet Coach Harrington, but her first lesson will be next Monday, August 10th. We do ask that she brings goggles, but we have extras in case she forgets them. Do you have any other questions for me?”

Taking a second to think, Eddie replied. “I think we’ve got everything covered. Thank you, Robin. I really appreciate your help!”

“It’s really no problem! If you do think of any questions you may have, you can always ask when you tour, or call us! We look forward to seeing you!”

All that was left to do was to invest in a good swimsuit, some goggles, and tell Max.

“Hey, stinker! How was camp today?” Eddie asked as Max climbed in the car and got herself situated in her seat.

“It was great! We did finger paintings ‘n played on the playground! There was a worm on the slide and Lucas was too afraid to touch it, so I got it ‘n brought it to the grass!” Max beamed at her father, showing her gap toothed smile. “I’m gonna bring home the art tomorrow, but Miss Joyce said we have to let it dry tonight. I did a picture of us!”

Eddie laughed lightly at his daughter's antics, smiling right back at her. “Sounds like today was fun, bug! I do have a little surprise for you when we get home though, okay?”

That got Max’s attention quickly, asking all sorts of questions about it. Eddie simply smiled at her and turned up the music, an old The Cure CD playing on the radio system. As the volume rose, all Eddie could hear was an exasperated “Daaaaaad!” from the back seat.

The ride home was short and sweet, the ending of Friday I’m in Love fading out as they pulled into the driveway. As soon as the car stopped, Max unbuckled and sprinted towards the door, abandoning her backpack and lunchbox.

“I know you're excited, Max, but you have to come get your stuff!” Eddie called out as he exited the driver's seat. The sound of her Skechers on the concrete and her small giggles approaching before receding back to the front door where she bounced on her feet in a poor attempt of patience.

Eddie sighed and shook his head, a small smile playing at his lips as he unlocked the front door. Immediately, Max ran inside, throwing her stuff on the couch and turning to her father expectantly.

“Where is it? What is it? Can I know now?” She asked, her little body practically vibrating in excitement and anticipation.

Eddie laughed warmly, dramatically rolling his eyes. “I guess you can know now, since you’ve been so patient.” Max snorted at his sarcasm, eyes going crinkly at the corners. “Go look in your room, love.”

And with that, she was off. Running as fast as her little legs could take her, not minding her dad’s warnings to not run in the house. Practically tearing her bedroom door off its hinges, she rushed into her room. Sat in a neat pile on her bed was a small black and red one piece swimsuit, a pair of black goggles, and a print out of the confirmation email from the Hawkins Aquatic Center.

Finally catching up and leaning on her door frame, Eddie quietly asked, “What do you think?”

It’s a miracle the neighbours didn't call the cops that day.

All of Max’s excitement and happiness seemed to explode out of her, letting out one of the loudest screams he had ever heard. Before he could blink, the small child tackled Eddie into a crushing hug, jumping onto him like a koala.

“Really? You’re for real?” She asked, pulling her head back from the embrace to look at her dad, unshed tears threatening to escape from her eyes.

“I’m for real, baby. I promise.”

Oh well, guess its time to do it huh? Another miraculous review, I Don’t really know what to say at this point, let’s just get this over with

Today we’re going to review the fourth episode of season 5. Jubilation

We start the episode with Marinette doing a walk listening to rock, but then a billboard starts plating the alliance ad… again… breath aguinha... breath…. Astruc, buddy, Pal. COULD YOU PLEASE STOP TO REPEAT YOURSELF? WE KNOW THAT NOW THERE’S THE ALLIENCES, ARE YOU PROUND OF THE ANIMATION OF THE AD OR SOMETHING? STOP IT, I ALREADY MADE THIS JOKE 3 TIMES, MY FOLLOWERS ARE TIRED, SO PLEASE STOP.

Tikki asks why Adrien is in the ad if he isn’t a model anymore, because all kwamis that aren’t Plagg Nooro or Dussu are just morons, wait but if this ad is playing for some time now, wouldn’t they have seen it before? and Tikki would have asked this before wouldn’t she? I really bet Gabriel don’t have money to put this ad in more places, considering it was in a fucking billboard. So Tikki, w h a t ?

Marinette tells Tikki that this was just a digital 3d model of him, wow that must have been expensive, maybe that’s the reason Gabriel couldn’t play the ad more than like, two times.

But that’s just a theory… A GAME THEORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR- sorry

Tikki: you in the other hand are still in love with the real Adrien

Marinette: oh no that’s over, as long as I’m-

Marinette whispers: as long as I’m ladybug, I refuse to be in love with Adrian or anyone else

Aww Marinette, no need to whisper, just scream like you always do, no worries you can always count on plot armor

But I really like Marinette finally trying to develop as a person and just forget about love, she needs to worry about Paris, that’s cool, lets see how long it will last.

Spoiler: it lasted 2 episodes…

We see Mr. Damocles as “the owl” trying to save a kitty, dude haven’t you learned your lesson already back in dark owl? I know he is kind of a moron but that doesn’t make sens- OOH, DON’T TELL ME, DON’T TELL ME HE IS GOING TO BE JUST LIKE ANDRE, NO MR DAMOCLES, NO PLS NO, I DON’T CARE ABOUT U BUT PLEASE, PLEASE THAT IS A ONE-WAY STREET,

Mr. Damocles ends up stuck in an iron bar and his owl mask gets broken, Marinette tries to help him but a copycat Ladybug shows up and saves an old stupid man, yeyyyyyyyyyyyyy

Turns out, Marinette knows who is the ladybug copycat, a girl called soqcline, soucline? Wait a second.

Ohhh its Socqueline,Thanks google

So, they go to Socqueline mom’s stone, which a craft store

They talk a bit and we find out that Socqueline was a school friend, which sucks at first, like where the hack have you been for 5 seasons young lady? Have you drunk some invisibility tea or something? You weren’t in another city like Felix or Zoe-su SO WHERE THE HACK HAVE YOU BEEN?

Mr. Damocles shows up there to buy a new mask, while that Marinette tries to make Socqueline AHH I CAN’T, I AM NOT FRENCH, I AM NOT EUROPEAN, I DON’T KNOW HOW THE FUCK YOU WRITE THIS GIRL’S NAME AND I AM TIRED TO LOOK ON GOOGLE ALL THE TIME, SO I WILL JUST CALL HER BRITWO OK? SHE IS PRETTY MUCH IT JUST A CHEAP BAD COPY OF MY DARLING BRIDGETTE, THAT DIFERENTLY FROM HER HAS A PRONAUNSABLE NAME.

Marinette tries to make britwo confess she is the ladybug copy, which she struggles with, at first I thought, OK must be hard try to make her confess without saying you are ladybug, BUT WHEN BRITWO WAS SAVING MR. DAMOCLES MARINETTE LITTERALY TELLS “Socqueline?” SO IF YOU ASKED HER IT WOULDN’T REVEAL ANYTHING, THE HECK MARI?

Britwo uses her alliance to check the paint stock

Marinette: wow, it’s the first time I’ve ever seen alliance in person!

Britwo: It’s a life changer, it got everything, wanna try it?

Britwo: just start with the magic words, please alliance, how many steps have I walked today?

AA (Alliance Adrian): you’ve walked 520.32 steps today socqueline, well done

Marinette: wow it’s amazing

Britwo: right? Is like having an Adrian all for yourself! What a dream

Hmm She is a creep, got it.

Marinette: you can hardly tell the difference between this and the real Adrien.

Britwo: YOU KNOW HIM?

Sorry I just need to point this out, how the heck she found out? Just because you say a 3D model looks like the person that doesn’t mean you know him, I’m imagining this girl taking some friends to watch marvel, and then appears a 3D model of idk, iron man and then her friend tells her, wow man that 3D model sure looks like Robert Downey, and then britwo screams out of nowhere: YOU KNOW HIM?

Marinette then starts to tells britwo ALL OF ADRIENS PROBLEMS TO SOMEONE HE NEVER MEET, WHAT A COOL PROTAGONIST, KIDS YOU SHOULD TOTALLY TELL YOUR FRIENDS PROBLEMS TO SOMEONE HE NEVER MEET, THAT’S THE RESPONSIBLE THING TO DO 👍

BUT THEN, Britwo thinks Adrien and Marinette are together, which Marinette responds saying

Marinette: we’re just friends nothing more, its just like you, you’re just a high school girl who sometimes helps her mom, nothing else right?

Britwo: uh, exactly.

Marinette: just like Mr. Damocles, he is just a principal, right?

Damocles: no, I’m not a principal, I’m a superhero, I MEAN IT’S THE OTHER WAY AROUND

Marinette: well it’s a good thing you are not TRYING TO BE A SUPERHERO, BECAUSE ITS VERY DANGEROUS TO DO THE SAME THING THEY DO WHEN YOU DON’T HAVE MAGICAL POWERS OR SUPER SUITS

Britwo: yeah, but what if it is a relief to ladybug to have people to help her

Marinette: no way she would have want that, its too risky

Britwo: yeah, but you gotta know when to step in

Marinette: but in this circumstance it’s ladybug job to take risks and no one else, because if everyone takes risks ladybug may have to take more risks in order to deal with their risks, WHICH IS EVEN RISKER

Damocles: sounds like someone is jealous because she wants to be a superhero

Marinette: I DO NOT, I’M MARINETTE, I AM VERY HAPPY TO BE A NORMAL GIRL WITH A NORMAL LIFE, AND SO SHOULD EVERYONE ELSE

Ok 2 things, being a superhero is hard, you have to deal with more than just the supervillains, you lose your freedom, everyone expects you to be perfect, any mistake you make may have catastrophic consequences and you blame it all on yourself, you gain more traumas than a child in twitter, be a super hero is hard I understand your side Mari. SECOND, I hate Mr Damocles now.

WHAT THE HECK DUDE? FIRST OF WHERE IS YOUR DEVELOPMENT? I LIKED YOUR EPISODE, THE IDEA THAT PEOPLE CAN HELPWITHOUT PUTTING THEMSELVES IN DANGER IS SOMETHING I LOVE, I LOVE DARK OWL, THERE ARE SOME BAD PARTS BUT IT IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE EPISODES OF THIS GOD FOR SAKE SHOW, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH HIS DEVELOPMENT? AND THE PHRASE “lOoKs LiKe sOmEoNe iS jEaLoUs BeCaUsE sHe wAnTs tO bE a sUpErHeRo” FUCK YOU, I shall not call you by your real name anymore, you will now be Mr Damoshit.

Mari uses britwo alliance to find out if she is or not the fake ladybug, save this information, its important, and found out that yes, she really is she impostor, good I don’t have many followers I bet I would get at least one billion sus comments if I were popular,

By the alliance Mari discovers that there’s dino’s attacking the city and transforms to go fight them, with britwo, Mr Damoshit is sad because of what marinette said, really dude? But then Marinette comes back and gives back britwo alliance, saying that she forgot to lock her scooter, but the alliance says that Marinette walked kilometers in just some minutes, but britwo think this is just a bug and life goes on.

With that said Gabriel receives a message from his alliance saying that a teen ran through KILOMETERS in just a couple minutes and that she probably was ladybub

Huh cool Gabriel use the alliances to try catch ladyb- WAIT A MINUTE, IF YOU CAN SEE WHAT YOU DID WITH THE ALLIENCES, THAT’S THE WAY MARI FOUND OUT ABOUT SOCQUELINE, WHY THE FUCK DIDN’T USE THIS TOO? HE COULD HAVE SAW FROM BRITWO ALIENCE, SEE SHE IS THE FAKE ONE.

BUT THAT WOULD INCLUDE SEEING MARINETTE AS LADYBUG AND HER PLOT ARMOR IS BIGGER THEN THE FUCKING PLANET, SO THE WRITTERS JUST LET THIS PLOT HOLE,

Gabriel transforms and akumatize Mr Damoshit. Into darker owl, stupid name for a stupid character, Monarch tells him that britwo is ladybub and gives him the power of jubilation.

Darker owl Appears at the craft shop which britwo record an audio with alliance, but darker owl just uses his gift in britwo showing her bigger wish, be a real superhero like ladybub and chat noar, takes her earrings but find out that she really isn’t ladybug,

Mari as ladybug shows up and discovers that the akuma is in darker owl’s mask by an audio britwo recorded in her alliance, see how this Socqueline is just a copy of Bridgette, they even copied the super intelligence my darling has, Adrien receives by the alliance a video from darker owl saying that if they don’t give him their miraculous britwo is going to fall in a can of paint and die, you are trying me to like you again by being a charismatic supervillain, but this is not going to work, do something really good and remarkable or your name will forever be Mr Damoshit.

Adrien transforms into chat noir and they both go fight darker owl

Chat noir saves britwo while ladybug just uses her lucky charm, pls mari the only good part of your character was that you always did the work, pls don’t be like Adrien and not just sit your big fat ass and do nothing plssssssssssssss,

The lucky charm is an alarm clock, but before ladybug can think of anything, ladybub sees that chat was going to be caught and go save him, which darker owl uses the gift in them making the biggest, no, one of the biggest shipping fuel I’ve ever seen in my life

The dream is about they defeating monarch and getting married, they show off the super heroes from the around the world specials to remember that those existed and that they were cannon, some chat blanc reference, they have the most DISGUSTING BABIES OF ALL CARTOON HISTORY, NO LOOK AT THAT

I didn’t like steven universe baby designs but Jesus Christ.

But then they discover that this is a dream because of the lucky charm alarm clock, they have a sad moment and kiss, like that scene would have been better if it was after determination and if chat noir/Adrien wasn’t in love with Marinette, the way they put that just doesn’t make much sense

Ladybug wake up and start to beat the shit out of darker owl, chat noir also wakes up and starts to REALLY BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF DARKER OWL, ladybub even had to say for him to slow down

And then…. CHAT NOIR TRIES TO FUCKING CATACLYSM HIM, DUDE, WHAT THE HELL, HE IS HORRIBLE BUT JUST TAKE HIM OUT OF THE SHOW, DON’T FUCKING KILL HIM, THAT’S JUST ABSURDE MAN, OMG HOW IS HE STILL CONSIDARETED A HERO, JESUS CHRIST.

BUT chat decides to don’t kill him and just cataclysms the mask instead. They search for the pig miraculous but find nothing so just give Mr. Damoshit a magical charm,

Britwo apologizes with ladybug and Marinette gives her mom the paints she bought, and her mom gives her a gift, an alliance, but she gives it back because it’s too dangerous.

And then we have a scene where ladybub and chat noar talk about the fight with darker owl. And that’s where the episode ends

Really this episode is hard to give a note, it is the best one so far but yeah. I think Britwo was kinda annoying and kinda of a creep, Marinette wasn’t at her best but she wasn’t at her worst either like yeah that with Adrian's secrets where bad but not the worst she's ever done, chat noir didn’t show up most, he was just there to add some shipping fuel and to make him look bad I guess? No really what was the plan when they made chat almost kill someone? And Mr. Damoshit, do I need to explain myself

That’s kinda of it, I will give this episode a 6/10 its ok

If you have time/energy, 41 for the bughead prompts pls! It’s the “overhears they have feelings for you.”

Now that i finally have the time, here’s some fluff to counter the angst!

Betty paused at the door to the Blue and Gold office when she heard voices. This late in the day, it was usually only her and Jughead still working on the college newspaper. Or, rather, while she continued working diligently on page layouts while he worked on homework on the couch.

“It’s not that big of a deal,” Jughead said. “Right? So I should just say it.”

She peeked in through the crack in the door and saw him pacing back and forth, his hands waving wildly in the air.

“If it’s not that big of a deal, why haven’t you said it?” came a reply from Toni.

Strange; Toni was always the most punctual person on their team. Her photos had been ready to print for over a week, and she rarely spent her free time in the office.. Unless Jughead had dragged her into his usual shenanigans regarding things that went bump in the night?

“Because –“

Jughead stopped and made a pained noise. Unsympathetic, Toni snickered, and even Betty had to cover her mouth from laughing. As much as she enjoyed his company, even Betty had to admit it was amusing to see him get so wrapped up in himself.

“It’s just three words,” Toni pointed out. “And it’s not like it will kill you to say it.”

“She might.”

“Betty is not going to murder you –“

“Not her, Cheryl.”

This time, Toni burst out in peals of laughter that covered up Jughead’s response. Curious to hear her cousin’s name, Betty leaned closer to the open door. The fiery tempered red-head was as much of a fan of Jughead’s as he was of hers, and that wasn’t saying much of anything.

“Cheryl is why you’re afraid to say ‘I love you‘?”

Jughead grumbled something inaudible, and Betty glanced up and down the halls to make sure she was alone. This close to information so pertinent to her life – Jughead was in love???? When did that happen??? Why??? - the last thing she needed was someone as boisterous as Kevin or Veronica yelling her name down the hall. Pressing herself against the door frame, Betty bit her lip and tried to calm her pounding heart.

“The last time someone even mentioned asking Betty out –“

Betty had to bite her tongue to keep from starting. A pen fell from her pocket and echoed in the empty halls. There was a silence, and she waited to be found out.

“That was because it was Reggie Mantle doing the asking,” Toni pointed out, completely ignorant of being eavesdropped on. She continued in a less than sure voice. “Besides, Cheryl … doesn’t dislike you. She’d probably even be happy with you if you got Betty out of the apartment for something that wasn’t school or work. You know, like a date? The thing people ask about when they like someone?”

Now too nervous to stay still, Betty rushed from the door, clutching her bag to her chest, and fled to the bathroom. As soon as the door closed behind her, she couldn’t help but clasp her hands together in glee. She and Jughead had danced around each other for over a year now and the closest they could get to anything called ‘dating’ had been a late-night stake out to see if the Dean of the Journalism school really was moonlighting as a click bait writer for BuzzFeed.

She breathed deeply to calm her nerves. Try as she might, she couldn’t contain the thrill of hearing that Jughead Jones, the guy she’d been crushing on since freshman orientation, liked her. Not just liked. He loved her. Betty couldn’t help but hug herself.

Straightening her shirt and steeling herself to be as forward as she imagined Cheryl would be, Betty stepped out of the bathroom and made her way, once more, to the Blue and Gold office. As she neared the office, Toni emerged and sent her a wink.

“Good luck in there, boss,” Toni said with a salute.

Betty bit down a response and opened the door. Jughead jumped up as if electrocuted, his face white at the sight of her. Any other time, Betty would have rushed towards him, asking him twenty different questions to try and figure out why he looked so ill. Now, though, it was all she could do to keep from smiling.

“Good evening, Jughead,” she chirped.

He stammered a reply and she set her backpack on her desk.

“You know what I really love?” she asked, unable to help herself, especially when a faint blush rose to his cheeks. “Those wontons you got last week. Where was that from again?”

“Klump’s Kafeteria,” Jughead said. “Did you get my article?”

Betty nodded, disappointed he’d jumped so quickly to business. “I did. I really love,” she paused, sitting down on her desk and pulling her laptop out, “the way you captured the emotions in your review. Especially whereyou talk about the mise-en-scene and how well it pulled everything together. It made the recommendation that more meaningful.”

“Honestly? I couldn’t stand the movie,” Jughead said. He rolled his eyes and sat on the corner of her desk.

And suddenly, the spell was broken, and her regular, normal Jughead was back in front of her. She watched his face as he complained about plot pacing and script-incongruities. Only half paying attention, Betty wondered if he’d finally make a move. It would be even better, though, if he’d finally notice that she’d been flirting this whole time.

“Regardless, it was a very well written piece,” Betty said when he’d finished. “You know what I also love?”

Jughead raised an eyebrow at her, finally beginning to notice a trend. “Those weird blue macaroons that taste like Peto-Bismol from Chez Bonuit?”

She flicked her pen at him and scowled. “You just have a warped sense of taste after eating all that grease and sugar at Pop’s.”

“And yet who’s the one also asking me to bring them a strawberry milkshake whenever they find out I’m eating all that grease and sugar?”

“It’s one of the little things I love you for,” Betty said, slipping it in as casually as she could. “That and the lattes you bring me after a late night editing.”

Jughead’s eyes flew open and heat bubbled up in her cheeks. Pressing on, Betty opened up a browser on her computer and turned it to him.

“I also love, and I hope you will too, that R.R.J. Swift is putting out a new Play of Chairs book next month.”

His face light up and he crowded in next to her, their faces a few inches from the screen. “How did I miss this? There’s no way they could get that to print so quickly.”

“Everyone in printing was told it was a new Donna Sweet novel,” Betty said, clicking a few times until a different website came up, “so it’s been hush-hush until he broke the news an hour ago.”*

“Finally, we can see what happens to Trienne of Barth.”

She elbowed him lightly. “I can’t believe you still like her after she betrayed Don Ice.”

“I can’t help it. I love her storyline,” he shot back, his eyes searching hers.

Undeterred, Betty thrust out her chin. “And I love –“

“Yes, yes, we get it,” Toni said. “You two are trapped in a bubble of love.”

They both turned, blushing, to the door.

“Sorry to interrupt the futile flirting, but I forgot my notes,” Toni said, walking towards the couch. She held up a notebook and shook it at them. “Just kiss her already Jones, or I will. And since the last time that happened I ended up going to prom with your girlfriend...”

“She’s right, you know” Betty said when Toni left.

Jughead cleared his throat. “About which part?”

“You should kiss me.”

“I –“

Whatever his protestations might have been, Jughead smartly decided to ignore them. Instead, he leaned towards Betty, who happily met him more than half-way.

A few months later, when Jughead claimed their first date was at a Play of Chairs release party, Betty couldn’t help but cover a laugh. She loved that he was technically correct, even if it was only a party of two.

*(No, I do not know how printing works, nor do I care enough to Google this or other characters from the series. Apologies if I’m wrong. If I am, just pretend they’re talking about Minecraft.)

Your ask: Make anonymous pls. I work at a non public school that’s pushing hard to reopen. Before COVID the school was a mess when it came to sanitation. No custodian. Water shutoff so restrooms weren’t available. No soap or gloves or toilet paper. Pipes were broken and wires were exposed. Reviews on GlassDoor go into more detail about it. School has restrained/isolated students even though it’s against policy. School is Port View Preparatory. Please post reviews from GlassDoor. So awareness can be made.

Holy crap this is weird. Some background info for the non special educators in the crowd.

Special Education hasn’t been around long, we are constantly learning and adapting what we do and new laws and rules are added and changed constantly. I know from the outside it can look like we don’t care or aren’t doing anything right, but a lot of us truly want to help and give these guys the best chance they have and we aren’t given a lot of tools, help, or training to do it.

When you have a child with special needs to the point of them needing constant help they usually are put through a program which means that they stay in high school until they are 22 years old (in my state its 21 I believe) then the parents can decide if they want to put them in an adult day care sort of program.

Now on holds and restraining. When they trained me to do these the main point was don’t do these, these are a last resort. When a person is harming themselves or going to be a harm to others and you can’t “talk/redirect” the behavior, then you have to use your judgement and make the decision. I have had to do a hold when the fire alarm was going off and we had to transport the student that was in crisis, it wasn’t fun and we both hated it.

Isolation, I don’t know what you mean by this. Technically none of the children should be left alone there should at lest be one teacher or behavior specialist there to monitor. But if a child needs to be moved to a quiet room or away from negative attention then that would be a pseudo isolation sort of thing. BUT A TEACHER MUST BE PRESENT AT ALL TIMES.

hi!! i've been following you since the end of 2017 and i'm so glad ure back :") i am a j1 kiddo this yr (gna be j2 in 2019) and i also take bcme. how do u manage to keep on top of things and how would u describe j2? would an average student still have time to relax e.g. watch netflix every week? my time management skills r honestly horrible and im v scared that i'll fail a's next yr :-( pls help!!!

first of all! thank you so much your support aaaa!!! 1!!1!1 it means so much to see that people do still care about sprouht-studies awww

j2 life is a hectic rush, but it was the best & most fun year of my schooling journey! the jump from j1 life to j2 life is rather huge, where ive found that the content for each subject had almost doubled. this proved to be a shock for me, but i decided to push on because that's life! in the case of my school i wouldn't say that the workload increased, but i definitely had less time for my hobbies!! j2 life is a lot about planning your time wisely, since most lecturers and teachers tend to give work early!! i would advice you to first understand & familiarise yourself with content knowledge, before delving into doing the work itself!!

here are some tips that may be useful to you!! (ps. they may be a tad bit cliché but!! they've definitely been saving graces!)

1. plan, plan, plan! even if you may not be a planner in nature, i think that scheduling your time properly really helps to motivate whilst allowing you to keep track of your progress! i know there's a tendency (especially in the studyblr community, where aesthetic bujo spreads may deter newbie planners but!!!) to create not only an efficient system, yet at the same time make it as aesthetically pleasing as possible! but!! simplicity can be beautiful too! also! i believe in functionality above all although beautifying my schedule has given me a certain form of satisfaction!!! heres a sample of scheduling that i use religiously throughout my school year!!

i like to create timetables in my bullet journal!! it is rather time-consuming to manually draw the tables by hand, so i eventually turned to working on google sheets instead!!

2. be conscious of your progress! keeping track of your progress and productivity is a great way to do so!! in keeping abreast of my productivity, i was able to constantly reflect & discover areas of improvement!! through this process of mindful learning, i managed to weed out detrimental practices that hindered my growth!

i keep track of my progress using sheets! the areas are divided by subjects, and each subject is color coded! i referred to & updated this page regularly during my preparations for the national examinations!! i placed a list of work i had to do on the left column, and an empty column right beside it!! when i have completed the work, i simply put a "done" in the empty column on the right!!

3. the art of being disciplined! i'm no stranger to procrastination, and my lack of discipline hindered productivity during my school days. hence i decided to turn to productivity apps to keep myself in check!! my favourite apps are flipd & forest!! (ps! I'll be linking reviews and links to these apps soon!!!)

4. resilience & consistency are absolute necessity! jumping into j2, i was apprehensive about my capabilities at the start since i was barely doing well in j1; as hard as i tried, my grades fluctuated a great deal, and i dropped to a low of 38 rank points in the mid of my j1 life. during the holidays, i revised my past work religiously, and never stopped believing in myself. i started to put in the extra mile & graciously accepting tips from the study community! i used to only revise my notes, but i've found that redoing worksheets & reviewing them have helped a great deal! it made me realise that i was making the same mistakes over and over again. hence, i trained myself to keep a lookout for similar questions during examinations, which has proved to be useful!! in fact, in my j2 life, i managed to double my rank points!! my hardwork & consistent effort paid off!!!

I just got so excited over this ask?? I love books.Hmm, I'm not really sure about happy books, though! The thing about stories is that there's gotta be some sort of conflict to usher the plot along, so most aren't purely happy. But I'll try to give some that might fit your fancy! And congrats for trying to be more positive! I'm proud. Disclaimer before I start: a lot of this is going to be fiction because that's my own personal preference, but I do plan on looking up some recommended feel good books, so! 1. Milk and Honey/The Sun and Her Flowers by Rupi Kaur - These are 2 poetry books that have a lot of positivity in them and female empowerment stuff, too. There are a good number of sad poems in both, too. But they're formatted in a way where it's like...it starts as sad, but the end of the book is all about healing and recovery and stuff. I've personally read these both and I enjoyed them very much!2. Simon VS the Homosapien Agenda by Becky Albertalli - I had to put this here because the movie is coming up. Okay, so this book is mostly a really laid back, realistic fiction about a closeted gay boy who's having an online relationship with a kid he doesn't know at school. Not gonna give too kuch away, but it's a good book! Not too much conflict. For the most part, it's a happy one. There is an instance of forced outing, though, so beware of that.3. Wonder by RJ Palacio - I haven't personally read this yet, but it's on my list and people have called it heartwarming. Plus there's a movie out for it now. It's about a little boy with a facial difference and how it affects his view of the world, from what I've read. I'm looking forward to it!4. The Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan - A bit older than these others, but. I'm trying to recommend ones that aren't boring, but also aren't too too heavy? What I like about these books is the comedy. They were originally written for tweens and teens, but I think all ages can enjoy them. This does have more conflict than the other recommendations so far, but. It's set in a universe where the Greek myths are real. A boy Percy Jackson discovers he's a son of one of the Greek gods and goes to a camp for people like him, demigods. And..yeah. He gets into a lot of trouble and adventure with his two best friends, a witty child of Athena named Annabeth and a tin can loving saytr named Grover. I love the narration style for this.5. Milk and Vine by Adam Gasiewski and Emily Beck - Okay, this one isn't that serious. But I had to add it because seeing screenshots of it makes me laugh every time. They basically took the format of Milk and Honey (1) and parodied the book so that rather than meaningful poems, each page is filled with vines. Classic. I'd imagine flipping through it would give you a good laugh and it's really cheap from what I saw.6. The Mincing Mockingbird Guide to Troubled Birds by Kim Bagwill and Matt Adrian - You might have seen some pages out of this circling around because they're hilarious. I haven't personally owned the book, but I've seen pages out of it and I would live to have it myself. Just...look it up. I promise you'll enjoy the images even if you don't want the book. (They're not positivity stuff, but they're funny. Don't take after those birds pls.)7. An Abundance of Katherines by John Green - It's been a long time since I've read this, but I recall enjoying it a lot. Compared to his other stuff, it wasn't heartbreaking. It was pretty mellow and chill. Basically about a boy who keeps dating Katherines (always with a K?). After his latest relationship, he tries to develop a formula to predict who will break up with who. That was a horrible summary, but. Again, it's been years. I just remember it was good and not sad, I didn't cry for once reading one of his books.8. R.H. Sin - More poetry, but his books are pretty good. Like Rupi, they do have quite a few sad ones, but for the most part it's meant to be inspiring and empowering. Also, he loves his wife so much?? I adore that. That's about all I can immediately think of? I realize after writing this maybe you were looking for books focusing solely on positivity and self care stuff. But I can't say I've read much of those. I'm sure you could find good ones on Google, though! There's a website called GoodReads I think where people leave reviews on books and all, sooo. Anyway, I hope this helped in some way, ahh! I'm sorry if it wasn't what you wanted. And I hope your day is lovely!

(humble brag, y’all) but i have a 4.0 on an unweighted scale, at a school that doesn’t weigh advanced/ap classes any more than standard classes. is this a pain in the ass? heck yeah. have i learnt from my experiences in the past two years? you betcha! do i want to make sure people stress as little as possible during their freshmen and sophomore years? YES. so, without further ado, let’s get into my tips for sophomores/freshmen (aka where eva screwed up where she hopes no one else does).

general tips:

do your homework, and try your darndest to do it on time (obviously life happens, but make it a goal to a) complete all your hw and b) get it in on time)

learn how to ask for help

you can’t do high school all on your own- at least not successfully. start asking people around you (teachers, counselors, headmasters, friends) for help when you need it and learn to do it without shame.

do and don’t start thinking about college

DO think about what type of college you’d like to go to. DON’T set your heart on one school.

DO ask yourself where your grades and extracurriculars would put you competitively, and what you can do to make you a more competitive applicant. DON’T suck all the fun out of your life and do things you hate, and DON’T do so much that you don’t have time to have fun.

join some fun clubs/sports/extracurriculars that cater to your interests and/or friends

find people/friends that bring out the best in you both academically and socially

establish a very good, very healthy relationship with your guidance counselor. they will write your college recs, and guys, those count for a lot

take classes you enjoy- and take them at your correct level.

GUYS THIS IS SO IMPORTANT. If you have a harder time with a topic, don’t take the AP version of it because it’ll look better on your college app. Seriously. Your job in school is to learn- don’t take a class at a level where you can’t learn, or you’re just wasting your time. Grades don’t always = knowledge.

don’t throw out your freshman year trig notes because you’ll need them for the act (personal experience but nevertheless important)

frosh tips:

make friends with the upperclassmen- they’ll give you the dirt on certain classes/teachers

suck up to the teachers! make friends with your teachers

people will judge you, but having your teachers on your side will only benefit you. they’re more likely to help you adjust to your new school and to their class

find some system of organization and stick to it

seriously experiment with your system and find the weird system that works for you. you will use it for the rest of high school and lemme just tell you having all your papers organized when it comes time to review for midterms/finals is a godsend.

don’t take ap classes your freshman year

take advanced classes instead, but don’t take more than 2. also, don’t take AP/advanced classes if you don’t like the topic. you’ll just hate yourself a little extra.

take the time to learn how to write a kickass essay

seriously. take it. you’ll be writing essays all the time and it helps to have a good method for the madness of english classes

find quizlets/your choice of study review website that people have used in that class in past years

if a homework is really hard just google the questions because sometimes teachers share resources

if you get a bad grade, don’t panic. gpa is cumulative. if you’re looking at a b+ in one quarter, but you’ve had a-s for the other quarters, chances are it’ll even out to an a- overall average.

if you get a bad test grade, or a bad grade in general, go in and talk to your teacher and figure out what you need to know! also take advantage of retake policies if they exist

if you have a bad teacher, find someone, anyone, who will teach you the subject. (i used the science head department)

reach out to your guidance counselor and form a good relationship. you deserve an advocate.

sophomore year:

guys this year is the hardest year socially

don’t stay friends with people who don’t appreciate how hard you work or make you feel like anything less than an amazing person

they’ll impact you in a horrid way mentally

DO NOT SCREW AROUND THIS YEAR- take your classes seriously

again, don’t take AP classes this year.

unless they’re like a joke. In which case, take the AP class.

identify your hardest class, and push yourself to get your best grades in it

it’ll teach you a lot about yourself and how you learn. don’t necessarily try to get an a, but do your best in that class

take a class you wouldn’t usually take (elective-wise)

you need fun in your life trust me

start thinkin’ about which standardized exams you wanna take

pls don’t take them yet tho you deserve fun in your life this year

use this year as a trial run for junior year- get your routine DOWN. learn how to manipulate your classes and teachers to your advantage. figure out how to study for tests, and write even better essays ext ext.

do a double check on the type of college you wanna go to and see if your gpa is in good shape for that

also start thinking about what test scores you’d hypothetically need

again don’t stress too much about this

learn how 2 take and make time for yourself this year (and 4 years to come)

mental health is as crucial to your grades as working hard and studying is. you can’t get good grades if all you can think about is your grades.

It’s not annoying so don’t worry about it, but my posts should all be visible, now? At least my app doesn’t give me the option to request a review anymore… if you can’t see them still they’re all (aside from the one I posted earlier) backed up on my wordpress blog! You can see them from there without me needing to describe them~

I tend to draw a lot of things on the same canvas before switching to a new one - that said, personally I can’t draw properly if I don’t zoom in above 100% (usually I work at 150% or 200%, more for details) so I’m really not the right person to ask this haha

They’re learning together!! They have an online dictionary and follow online courses, so Kirishima kind of looked it up for himself at first - he was signing it as love instead of really like thoug, which made Bakugou indecently flustered so in the end, yes, he was the one to teach him how to properly sign it :D

I’m glad you like it!!!!! And nope Kiri didn’t know jsl from before, but mers do have something similar to a sign language (there’s deaf and mute merpeople too, after all) so he recognized it as Bakugou going “I want to talk to you and this is the best way to” - also, he’d never seen a tablet before and Bakugou was showing him an explosion on it to make him understand and instead he went “what is this SORCERY” and got excited about a gif. Good, pure kid. I had no clue how to add that in the comic in a fast way tho so let’s leave it at him being happy they found a possible way to communicate haha

So pretty much at some point in the middle of a meeting Present Mic mentioned how there probably was a traitor between them that kept on feeding the villains infos about UA, and the fandom of course got interested in that!! Who could it be? They started thinking it through and for some reason the theories that ended up being more popular are about it being either Kaminari, Kirishima or Hagakure - I don’t think any of these are true, but if you google search “kaminari traitor theory” or the same with the other two names you should easily find the posts explaining the theories and where they come from, if you’re interested!

You wanna know the best thing the absolute best thing? My very first bnha comic was something eerily similar to the first part of this ask! Only Bakugou was the one to accidentally make a pun - I’d link it but honestly my style was ridiculous back then so not happening, just know that I’m 100% sure that post is the reason why I keep on drawing bnha comics about puns, my very first post set the path for all the others to come hah a curse I don’t actually mind
