I'd like to get more involved in the writeblr and artblr community, but am (sadly) a very shy individual. So please, if any of the following fits your wip's or your interests and you'd like to talk, interact with this post, so I can find you. <3
 • a diverse cast (poc, lgbtqia+, disabled and/or mentally ill mc's)
• a love for redemption and/or corruption arcs
• slowburn romances/friendships/dynamics (I love the disliked to I trust you completely pipeline that takes years and years)
• philosophical themes
• dark fantasy/sci-fi wip's, or contemporary/historical stories that deal with the problems individuals/societies face
• a love for world building, especially when it comes to magic systems, religions and cultures
• complicated relationship webs and group dynamics
• morally ambiguous characters, character driven stories and/or character arcs that go deep into their psychology
• Bonus points if you illustrate your work, I love you, you can do it!!! (lets suffer together)
Also, everyone in general who wants to talk about writing/reading, scream about their oc's or would like to do some reading challenges together! 🌻

Camp NaNo 2023
So... I have made the decision to join camp nano this year.
I wasn't originally planning on doing this on account of being burnt out and having to work and stuff but! Things have changed!
I'm still burnt out. I still have to work. However, I am more motivated than ever to get CMI done. Well, technically it's already done, I'm just completely re-writing it to make it align more with what I envision it to be now
So! Camp NaNo! My goal this month is 36k words. ~30k is finishing Call Me Icarus, the other 6k is writing two (2) horror short stories to submit to an anthology centering ASD and horror
So yeah! I guess y'all should be on the lookout for some more writing content from me here! In the meantime, enjoy this moodboard I made:

my writeblr introduction
Tumblr media
hello there! you can call me jade (they/them), and welcome to my writeblr! i've been lurking on tumblr for the longest time and am only just now deciding to try posting my own stuff. i don't have a ton of writer friends so i thought this would be a good chance to find some!
much of my inspiration comes from fairy tales, studio ghibli films, old disney movies, music, nature, as well as the magical and mundane aspects of life. my favorite genre to write is fantasy and i've dabbled in many different flavors of it, from middle grade cozy fantasy to new adult darker fantasy. i also write poetry.
i currently have one wip that i'm focusing on, but i have many wips that i have stored away for later. it's under the temporary name project garden and it's a sapphic new adult-ish fantasy. right now, i'm preparing for july camp nanowrimo so i can hopefully get a big chunk of my first draft done. if anyone else is participating in camp, let me know and we can hold each other accountable for our goals! my nanowrimo username is meguca_.

Reasons why this novel is taking long to write:
*writes a sentence* *pause* *look up history of the hiking boot, and then a bit more in-depth since 1970s felt far too late for such an invention. Name them, then also look up how long the word 'ramble' has been around in English* *continue story*

writeblr intro 🌹
i'm rose!! ~ it's been a slow and scary process to remember as an adult what i already knew as a child: that all roads will lead me back to writing. nothing else has ever lit me up the same, and trying to ignore that only ever made me miserable. most of my blog will be writing resources and reflections, thoroughly tagged.
i just wanna write and talk about writing. i wanna make stuff. i want to know myself well enough to build a practice that lasts a lifetime. i want to learn everything all over again.
and i wanna talk to other writers!! i want more people to write with and write alongside. i want to find a small community of creators who know that itch.
about my stuff:
i mostly write original children's fiction spanning from middle grade to YA;
i wholeheartedly believe in the power of fanfic as a place to grow creatively and experiment freely;
i love cozy fantasy, coming-of-age, and character-driven stories;
right now, i write for an audience of my past self and my future children;
i make art once in a blue, usually just to immerse in my own stories;
i probably will not share my drafts, but i probably will share my art and my thoughts as i rediscover the process of creating long-form fiction, and maybe a poem here and there;
my poetry may delve into adult topics;
everything i make is gay
i sometimes host animal crossing write-ins, and i'd like to start those up again for camp nano this july - if you're interested, hit me up :)
you can add me as a buddy on nano @ rose-tinted!
current project:
MAGDOLL genre: YA, Fantasy, Adventure, Romance An orphaned witch goes in search of magical aid after accidentally turning her baby sister into a cloth doll.

Day 1
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay! I did it!! It was like eating rocks, I won't lie, but I STILL DID IT.
I always struggle when I'm first starting a new piece because it takes my brain a little while to "settle in" to the story I'm telling. I know I've done the bare minimum of my word count goal today, but I hope that in a week or so I'll be back to my usual pace again.
Had a couple of lovely pep talks today, which was very appreciated (and needed, lol) and I'm feeling better than I was this morning, so that's good! I am a very lucky bean!

Not me sitting on an Amtrak train, writing a deep and soul-wrenching scene about a boy trying his hardest to find a way to tell his best friend about the abuse he endured in the hands of the enemy to Earth, Wind & Fire’s 1992 smash hit “September”
