@snowthedemonfox made some really cool 17776/portal au designs, and im pretty sure it influenced my dreams to come up with core/turret designs. they have been lovingly called "spider cores" on account of being able to use wires to get around, much like spider silk
im having a lot of fun with these :3

Era 2 is always talking about how Pulsers are considered useless cuz they just slow time around themselves and Marasi gets a lot of crap for it
But I would love to see them as first responders/medics in Era 3
The point of ambulances is to get people to medical help as soon as possible + keeping them stable enough to reach help. But moving a critically injured patient is risky/dangerous. And if you had the option of leaving them safe and stabilized where they were while you brought all of the medical assistance you needed, why wouldn’t you??
I want to see Pulser and Coinshot duos racing across the city to stabilize patients while slow, but heavily supplied and staffed medical vehicles came to them

Moms Across America Tested New Children’s Cereal & Found Poisons Like Heavy Metals, Arsenic, Aluminum, Cadmium, 8 Different Pesticides (Some Known To Change Sex Hormones) & More
All this in 1 cereal box
Testing reveals ‘General Mills Trix Loaded Cereal’ is actually “loaded with heavy metals and pesticides” also contains “Artificial dyes, preservatives, chemicals” - We found arsenic and cadmium 200-400% higher than what the EPA allows in drinking water - We found aluminum levels to be 1,365% to 1,650% higher than what the EPA allows in drinking water - We found glyphosate levels 158 to 174 times higher than has been shown in animal studies to cause sex hormone changes and organ damage when animals ate 0.1 parts per billion of glyphosate for 2 years of the glyphosate herbicide, the the formulation. And we also found 8 different pesticides. One of them is an ingredient used in shampoo that kills lice, and the other one is a fungicide known to cause endocrine disruption and hormone disruption in humans and wildlife at very low levels. So, clearly, this is not a great way to start your day with toxic chemicals, and we call on General Mills to get to the source of why their cereal is so contaminated and to do things like test fertilizers because we think that's the source of the heavy metal contamination. This is a very serious issue because heavy metals can cause neurological damage and developmental disorders that can be lifelong. So this is very serious. We are in a national physical and mental health crisis in America, and we need manufacturers like General Mills who have the resources to actually do something about cleaning up their the food supply and the products that they offer.“

Lead and cadmium in your chocolate
Tumblr media
chocolate producers have been grappling with ways to lower levels of heavy metals in cacao - the plant is very good at pulling minerals from the ground, which is why it's so healthy
unfortunately, that also means it pulls metals that are bad for us, so where they're planted and how they're processed makes a huge difference in how (un)healthy the resultant cacao and chocolate will be
to identify how much of a risk various chocolates pose, Consumer Reports scientists recently measured the amount of heavy metals in 28 dark chocolate bars... and detected cadmium and lead in all of them. fortunately, some are much healthier than others
they used California's strict maximum allowable dose levels as a measuring stick: for lead it's 0.5 micrograms/gram, and for cadmium it's 4.1mcg/g. they found the amounts vary widely across brands. unsurprisingly, brands like Hershey's tested worst, but even some organic brands have unsafe-over-time levels (see the article for a big list)
as I imagine you're feeling right now if you love chocolate, I immediately got worried because I make a hot cacao drink most mornings. thankfully, the brand I use (Navitas Organics cacao powder) tests and controls for these heavy metals, and it's only 0.24mcg/g and 0.07mcg/g
I recommend you check your brands to see if they test and control for these toxic metals. also, apparently having chocolate every day isn't maybe the best thing 😭
