ok i watched a bit more of 2gether and it's both the cutest and the most cursed thing. i love it. everything has random sound effects and is an ad and it's very much the 'we need person A and B in this situation and we don't care much about how they get there so anything will do' plotwriting but also they are so intimate with eachother?? not kissing or sex but just so soft and touchy and stare-y and cheesy and i dont know if it's cultural differences but im here for it. it makes me soft.

2020 everyone

And people start talking about Suicide Squad after 3 years again.

So many people start to judge Leto again even if they only saw him in Suicide Squad. The movie without a f plotline, the movie which wrote literally every single character so damn weak (I mean what was the Enchantress thing, or El Diablo wtf... and Harley. This poor girl). Leto had no chance to show us a good Joker because they wrote him shitty. He literally tried his best.

People that refuse to watch Morbius just cuz they disliked Leto in SuSq are missing out a good opportunity to look beyond his acting skills. Many were afraid to even watch A24's "The Lighthouse" because it had Pattinson in it. They refused to even take a look at it just because they still associated him with Twilight. A movie without good plotwriting.

I see so many getting toxic towards actors that once presented bad written characters and refuse to watch their new movies.

Its honestly so sad. Instead of giving him a chance people already tear him apart. Maybe wait until July? When the full movie is released?

And fyi

Its a TEASER TRAILER + FIRST LOOK. You know teasers arent supposed to be the finished version. Teasers have scenes in it that maybe were only shot for the teaser. They call it trailer because of the lenght of it. (Teasers are like 1 minute long while trailers are between 1:50 and 2:50). First look means the color is pre-rendered, that the cgi isnt finished and some lines are cheesy. And yiu know that Sony teasers always look different than marvel teasers.

Lets all just wait. Until July. And then you can judge.

(I also feel like many dont even know whoms the fruck Morbius is and dont even know about the mcu/sonyverse and just like to hate on Leto)

Idea for a story

Again, my considerations for Marnie mostly run towards fix-it. But unlike the other characters I’ve written about so far, Marnie sadly has barely anything at all in canon that builds her as a character beyond a vague archetype. So if I were to write, I’d take inspiration from Piers and the people of Spikemuth, and wander almost completely into the land of personal headcanon. 

The concept of Spikemuth and Team Yell was very carelessly done in canon, but that is a huge topic on its own haha. I do love the idea that Piers alone of all the gym leaders was against Dynamax. Depending on how you look at the game’s narrative, Dynamax and the gym league can actually be seen as terribly flawed systems. Imagine if Piers and the citizens of Spikemuth were the only ones to see that, and Marnie as well ;w; 

Other than that, it would have been great if Marnie could take a bigger role in the main plot as a rival, beyond simply being a Trainer You Happen To Keep Facing During the Gym Challenge. I also think it’s a pity that she starts the game with “I don’t want to be gym leader of Spikemuth because I wanna find my own way!! And go for champion!!” and she ends the game with “Well I guess I’ll be gym leader of Spikemuth”. It’s not completely terrible that she comes to such a conclusion, but it’d only be satisfying if we could pad out the progression from point A to point Z. Maybe make a part of it be game plot related, even.

have you ever read the 39 clues series? well it had a sequel series and it was going great until david baldacci decided to write the final book in the series and RUIN it. he wrote it so badly like nothing made sense, he was too busy focusing on the romance between sixteen year olds to make the book fun and also ruined that romance too, killing off random characters (other love interests) just to make it easy on himself while plotwriting. i have decided never to read another book of his again :)

Kshdkd I've heard of the series but never got around to reading it lol but imagine ending things so badly and ruining it for everyone and also tbh I hate books where you can clearly tell that the plot exists only for the inevitable romance between the leads it puts me off so much 🙄

Exams

In today’s clip, Robbe leaves Sander for school, he says he has to take an exam. However, in the clip that aired on December 12, he tells Milan it’s his last exam.

My first reaction was there was a continuity error and I was not the first to spot this. In the comment section underneath the clip, another viewer writes the same thing. So there’s at least two of us, chances are there must be more.The reactions to this post are remarkable. A number of them state that the boy should no longer watch the show, if he’s that bothered. Others state that Robbe obviously meant it was his last exam of that week. If this were true, the writers should have added “this week”, pure an simple. They should have noticed the potential for ambiguity and they should have adapted the line.

The reactions of some of the viewers baffle me, to be honest. Some view every instance of criticism as a direct attack and a personal insult. Critique has a legitimate place in any analysis, for sure. Some go to great lengths to justify the plotwriting, as if everything has been well thought through. Which it isn’t, in my view, not with this detail anyway. There is ambiguity there, and there doesn’t need to be.

Continuity errors aren’t necessarily bad, I’d even say there is a certain charm in them and they’re almost unavoidable. Remember how Eliott’s trousers suddenly changed colour on his way to the Petite ceinture parc? Who cares? It doesn’t devalue the series. As a crew member, I’d laugh it off and take it in my stride. But WTFock is different. There’s lots of things that don’t add up. Sander going back to Britt, the Britt character in itself, Robbe unable to trace Sander, etc. All of it could do with a few more lines, a bit more explanation, less ambiguity.

I think this ambiguity is a result of the “less is more approach” that WTFock seems to prefer. A lot of the plot is implied, a number of important storylines that could be shown are not included, we as the public are left to imagine certain events, such as the immediate aftermath of the hate crime. It could well be that time constraints have caused this. And there is an argument to be made in favour of not belittling your audience. Nevertheless, there is no excuse for not dealing sooner with a horrific hate crime.

Ultimately, I don’t care about Robbe’s maze of exam dates. There are two bits of plot, however, that need to be reintroduced and dealt with before the season ends. They are: the slur and the hate crime. I hope Robbe’s fleeting exam roster isn’t going to reveal itself as a foreshadowing of the way in which the writers will be handling those two storylines in the few clips that are left.

i recognize that nostalgia is a sort of a mind-curse that makes you forget the bad and exaggerate the good

but i do kind of think that the ways the filmmaking ecosystem has changed in the time since the 80s/90s means that there simply arent ‘good blockbusters’ made any more, all the modern mass-market billion-grossing films are so... empty.

Transformers, tbh almost all marvel superhero films, the jurassic world franchise, and almost every modern remake of something that was once good and interesting, so many others

like ive always argued that there is huge value in pop culture and anything that people get invested in, any film that makes someone feel some emotions, has depth and value, I think the ‘only Deep and Arty films have value or can impact people’ pseudy critic stuff is utter bullshit

but i watch modern popcorn films and they’re often just... not about anything, they’re just badly written badly plotted and badly directed films where some stuff happens and there are lights and sounds and wo weeks later you can’t remember what the fuck happened in them

I tell myself, ‘im just getting old, everyone feels this way eventually, people felt like this about ET or Terminator or whatever’ but... I find myself drawn to films I never saw as a child, because I actually missed out on a lot of the the Grand Canon of Good Blockbusters (my dad, a Film Nerd, did a good job of showing me both Important For Art Reasons films and Important For Pop Culture Reasons films), I watch a film I never saw before (’Last Action Hero’, say) and I find myself feeling emotions and invested in characters and thinking about things, and I observe directorial style and flourish and I think about the plotwriting and I just have a really good time

and then i watch jurassic world or an avengers because I’m tired and its on netflix and it’s just... empty and the plot doesn’t make sense and everyone’s an asshole to one another and none of the characters seem to care or are invested in anything, and the directors neglect to build any tension of any sort so I don’t care either and just like

Hello, can I ask you a question. From your pov. This is going to sound silly but why did Lucifer take so long to wake up in the desert when Chloe wasn't even around at that point, for ages after at least. Because (3x12) Marcus telling Lucifer he was behind the kidnapping/injury and with Chloe in the same vicinity to make sure he gets knocked out to stay out of the way. Wouldn't he have healed and woken up sooner or is it just to tie loose ends up in plotwriting #confused.

Good question, perhaps it had something to do with his wings growing back? I don’t really know. Now it could be there is more that happened between the time originally ended up in the desert and the time he woke up. Also, who took his closes and shoes? I’m pretty sure Marcus and the people he hired would have just dumped him, not completely strip him hoping he would die. Cain just needed him out of LA for a bit so he could get on with his plan, though nothing can keep the Devil away from his Badass Miracle for too long. 😉

whenever i see people asking for more seasons of a show i always think of that quote where its like you either die a hero or live long enough to become a villain or something and like that applies so much to tv shows and books and stuff

like please think about whether the story is over before u ask for more stuff

like for example i saw people asking for more gravity falls stuff, new seasons, etc. when the show ended. but, the story was over. it was done, it was wrapped up and it had a good, solid ending. adding more information would just take away from the meaningful ending that it had

same with stuff like OTGW, that ending was SUPER solid and was vague enough to perfectly reflect the overall tone of the show. trying to explain it completely with more information would, again, take away from the meaning of the show

an example of a show that didn’t learn from this is (god forbid i mention it) supernatural. im not sure if episodes are still coming out, but i remember it being super, bad, super awful when i can recall new episodes being made. the show was written, the story was over - at the end of season 5 (I would argue that the best ending for the show would be when the brothers found their father and that arc was over but thats just my opinion). and yet, the show continued and continued and CONTINUED and now it’s only revered for being a heaping pile of shit with fans who just want more without considering the value of the story or what the creators intended for when they wrote it

another example of that is, sadly, steven universe, a show that doesn’t understand pacing or plotwriting apparently. It was incredible until jailbreak, and then everything after that slowly became worse and worse until the crew behind it didn’t care about the plot or the characters and really only tried to create fanservice - but the fans didn’t really want it that much anymore.

tl;dr: think about the plot value of a show or book series before you ask for more of it
