#but the idea that he only lost to nico because nico made it personal is incredibly frustrating to me

i doubt this will ever reach the person it's intended for but i do want to point out that lewis very much lost the psychological battle to jenson button. and he did so because jenson was nice. that tall british rodent man (affectionate) showed up at mclaren and was kind and polite to his engineers and mechanics and lewis lost his fucking mind. tweeted out his telemetry. had a full twitter can't believe he unfollowed me i thought we were friends but i guess not meltdown only to realise that jenson never followed him in the first place. got so upset by the team having the audacity to like jenson that he spent an entire year driving into felipe massa. i don't think that would ever happen now, even when he lost to george he didn't give a fuck. but it is important to me that people know lewis has absolutely lost psychological battles before in situations when it was in no way personal. him losing the fight with nico was not just because they'd known each other since they were 12, it was also because lewis is paranoid as fuck and has a history of taking things incredibly personally

Tattoos Together
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nico Hischier x fem!reader
summary: based off of the song tattoos together by lauv
notes: this idea was way better in my head, but i still think it’s cute and turned out alright. i’m obsessed with this song and knew i just had to write a nico fic based off of it asap. also, i know the timeline is all over the place bc nico is captain in this, and holtzy and dawson are here, but it technically takes place after jack’s rookie season. the beauty of fiction is that literally nothing is real, so let’s just all pretend everything is normal and chronologically correct 😊. hope you enjoy!! :)

~
Summer was your favorite season for a number of reasons. First of all, you loved the warm weather. Being able to sit outside and soak up the sunshine was something your body desperately craved during the bitter New Jersey winter. You also loved the overall happiness of the general population that seemed to radiate during the summer months. Your favorite reason, however, was the fact that your best friend was always available to do whatever you wanted him to, because hockey isn’t played in the summer.
You hated that the Devils didn’t make the playoffs this year. You were as devastated as they were during that last game of the season, but you can’t lie and say you weren’t also ecstatic. You knew, the moment they lost the game that eliminated them from any sort of play off position, you were going to get a summer full of sun and fun at the lake house.
You had decided to take the warm season off from any internships or courses, not wanting anything to come in-between you and nearly four, uninterrupted months with your boys at the lake. You had decided to transfer to a college in Jersey so you could spend more time with Jack, not so you could stay in a strange city while all of your friends go to your favorite place on earth.
This year was especially exciting, considering Jack had convinced a group of his teammates to join in on the summer antics. Your anticipation for the warmer weather to arrive was only heightened once you learned a certain hockey captain would also be in attendance at the lake house.
You had been drawn to Nico from the first moment you met him after Jack’s rookie debut. Jack was so eager to introduce the two of you. He had made quick friends with the Swiss player after his arrival in the garden state and he wanted nothing more than his oldest and newest friend to meet one another and hit it off. Nico gave short, but kind, responses when Jack called you over to speak to him outside of the locker room; you assumed he was just tired and wanted to get home, but once you had seen him leaning against the wall in a crowded bar a few hours later, you made it your mission to make a friend out of the quiet hockey player.
You found yourself enjoying his conversation a little too much, basically neglecting Jack on his big night. The two of you talked about anything and everything. Nico had been in the middle of a story about his siblings back home when you suddenly realized the danger you were in. You hadn’t even been around this man for more than a few hours, and you could feel yourself falling for him. His kind eyes, the deep dimples when he smiled, and the care and attention he showed every single person that came up to congratulate him on the win, while also never failing to listen to your stories and stay engaged in the conversation with you, was making you spiral in the best way.
You knew you couldn’t go there, though. He was a big shot hockey captain, and you were only here for school. With the team’s busy schedule, you didn’t know when you would see him again. As soon as the light feeling in your chest had appeared, you forced it to make its exit. You couldn’t fall for him. You wouldn’t let yourself fall for him.
Over the next few months, however, you found yourself in Nico’s presence more often than not. Any team event that Jack dragged you to, you always found your way to where Nico was, striking up innocent, friendly conversation. If you were attending a home game at the Prudential Center, you were always cheering for Nico anytime he made a particularly important or skillful play. When he would come over to yours and Jack’s shared apartment, you always had some excuse for needing to be in the kitchen when they were, or passing through the living room and then planting yourself on the couch between the two ‘out of boredom’.
Nico wasn’t making it easy for you, either. Anytime the captain would score on the ice, it was you he was pointing towards during his celebration (or sending a text to ask if you were watching as soon as he was in the locker room for intermission, if it was an away game). If he had plans with Jack he would always send you a message, inviting you to tag along. Nico had even memorized your class schedule and your coffee order, bringing you your caffeine fix on lecture mornings when he would pick Jack up for morning skate. You found yourself talking to Nico almost more than you spoke to Jack, finding it harder and harder to keep your promise to yourself.
Jack could sense the underlying feelings you had for his captain, being able to pick up on all of your tells from the many years of friendship. He saw the way your gaze would immediately start sweeping any room you entered until it settled on Nico. He pretended not to notice the way you would always come out of your room on the mornings Nico was coming by before practice, hair and make-up already done, sitting in the kitchen to ‘work on homework’ before your lectures. He noticed when you bought his captain’s jersey, alternating between the 13 and 86 jerseys every other game. He noticed the way you would instantly perk up at the mention of Nico’s name in any conversation.
Jack also noticed the way Nico tried, and failed, to hide the feelings he had for you, as well. He noticed the way Nico would skate out for warm-ups and look around the glass until he saw you, waiting a few minutes before he made his way over to the glass where you were standing, pretending to be surprised when he turned around and found you behind him. Jack noticed the way Nico suddenly wanted to always come over to his apartment instead of Jack going to what the team refers to as the ‘captain’s quarters’. He noticed the way Nico would always come back with your favorite cocktail in hand anytime you were with them on a night out.
The back and forth between you and Nico continued for months, neither one of you ever taking the next step to admit feelings for one another. Jack wished the two of you would just get it over with at this point, the inevitable apparent to everyone but yourselves. So, when Jack opened the lake house invitation to Nico, Alex, and Dawson this summer, he can’t lie and say he didn’t have some ulterior motives.
Now, as you and Nico walked ahead of everyone else, lost in your own little world, he knew he made the right decision.
You had just eaten dinner, Jack having made reservations at a local seafood place he was dying to take everyone to, when you announced you wanted ice cream. You had suggested the small ice cream shop a short walk from the restaurant, wanting to stay out in the small lake town a little bit longer. You had sat next to Nico at dinner, staying in your own conversation most of the meal, being brought into the larger conversation happening around you only if either of your names were mentioned. The conversation followed the two of you outside, talking about his upcoming trip home.
“So, when are you leaving this utopia?” You asked him, shoulders bumping as you walked on the sidewalk beside him, a car driving by, causing your sundress to ruffle and flow in the passing wind.
“Not until the end of the month. Why? Can’t wait to get rid of me?” he responds with a playful smile, putting his hand on your back, pushing you over to the inside of the sidewalk, placing himself closest to the active road beside of you.
“Not even close,” you link your pinky with his, a habit you’ve gotten into anytime you’re walking beside him. “Dreading the day, actually. This is your first summer here, and you don’t even get to experience the best part!”
“I thought the best part was that you were here?” he references the statement you made when trying to convince him to make the trip to Michigan for the summer.
“Well, the next best part,” you respond, waving off his words. “You’re going to miss the boat parade on the Fourth of July!”
“A…boat parade?” Nico questions.
“Yes! A boat parade! Everyone decorates their boats and then drives them around the lake. Everyone here goes crazy for it. People don’t spare a single expense when it comes to boat decorations. One family even paid those statue street performers to play Uncle Sam and Lady Liberty on their boat on year,” you explain, earning a laugh from Nico.
“Why do I have the feeling you would have done that if you thought of it first?” he asks in-between chuckles.
“Because I would’ve! I was so mad that I didn’t even think of it. The only year we haven’t won it. Well, other than the years we haven’t been able to make it up here,” you shrug, thinking of all the time you’ve missed out on in the past few years.
“Well, you’ll have to come up with something even crazier this year. To make up for all the lost time,” Nico squeezes your pinkies closer together, knowing how much you hate the summers you can’t come here. “Look, you could go get a tattoo of the American flag, or something. Decorate your body, not just your boat. Really commemorate the summer,” he points to the tattoo shop you’re walking past, laughing at the craziness of the idea.
Maybe it was the heat finally getting to you. Maybe it was all the lake water you had swallowed the past few weeks. Or maybe it was the build-up of the months worth of feelings you’ve had for the man in front of you, but something in you made you say “Let’s go do it.”
“What?” Nico stopped in his tracks, looking over at you like you had three heads.
“I said let’s do it,” you said again, a serious look on your face.
“As in let’s go let you get a tattoo of the American Flag?” he asked again, confirming the idea forming in your brain.
“Yes. Well, I mean no. But yes,” you start, letting go of his pinky you were still holding on to. “I mean, let’s go get tattoos to commemorate the summer, like you said.”
“Like…right now?”
“Yes, right now. Why not? It’ll be fun. At the very least it’ll be a story to tell one day,” you try to convince him, acting as if this isn’t the most out of character thing you could suggest.
“I mean, what would we even get?” Nico asks, the word ‘no’ never coming out of his mouth.
“I don’t know, whatever you want. It doesn’t have to be anything big. Or anywhere where everyone will see it. It can just be something we know we have, y’know?” you continue to try to convince him.
“Hey! Why’d you two stop? The ice cream shop is another block down.” Jack asks as the rest of the group approaches the two of you.
“Y/N is trying to convince me to go get a tattoo with her right now,” Nico tells everyone, earning a collection of shocked faces.
“You two? Getting matching tattoos?” Dawson asks, looking between the two of you.
“They don’t have to be completely matching. Just something to make us thinks of this moment. This summer,” you explain. “We could all get one, actually. As a group!”
“You’re out of your mind if you think any of us are getting tattoos right now,” Jack speaks up, not scared to call you out on your stupid ideas.
“I don’t think it’s that crazy of an idea. It could be fun,” Nico surprises everyone.
“Cap, are you serious? You’re thinking about going and getting a tattoo right now?” Alex questions.
“I’ve been thinking about getting another one for awhile now, so why not right now? Like she said, it’s a good summer memory, Holtzy” Nico shrugs, sounding like he’s made up his mind.
“Of course you would agree to get a matching tattoo with her. You guys are practically attached at the hip anyways,” Dawson says, causing both you and Nico to flush a light shade of pink. “You guys go have your fun, get matching tattoos, but we’ll be eating ice cream, loving the taste of no regrets,” Dawson gives up the fight.
“Just…don’t get each other’s names on your foreheads,” Jack says, shaking his head as he walks away.
Dawson and Alex follow Jack, grumbling about how they can’t believe you’re actually going to do this. Alex slides in a “at least ask her on a date first, cap” as he walks away, Nico praying you didn’t hear the comment.
You turn towards Nico, holding your hand out. “You ready?”
He takes your hand, letting you pull him into the tattoo shop’s open door. “Let’s go get tattoos together.”
An hour later, you and Nico walked out with two fresh wounds on your ankles.
Both of your tattoos were so small you truly had to look for them to notice them. You had ended up getting tattoos that were technically matching, but could have meaning on their own, too. The artist had laid out a bunch of stencils she had ready to go, letting you pick from the pile which ones you wanted. You had found a small heart with devil horns, pointing it out to Nico and jokingly suggested he get it to show his Devils heritage. At almost the exact same time, his eyes landed on a small heart with a halo over it, his eyes lighting up.
He had agreed to get the devil one only if you got the matching angel one. So, twenty minutes later, the stencils were placed and you both sat on the table as two different artists tattooed you simultaneously.
The rest of your small group teased the two of you about it for the rest of the summer. After Nico left at the end of that month, the conversation shifted from teasing about the tattoos, to teasing about when the two of you were finally going to admit your feelings to each other. You waved off their words, sticking to your explanation of you two being just friends, but they didn’t let you forget that, in their words, you ‘basically branded’ their captain.
When Nico arrived home, Nina immediately clocked the small tattoo on her brother’s leg, questioning him about it. He told her it was just a last-minute decision, something to do after the season was over, not wanting to hear any nagging about how irresponsible it was that he let a girl he was even dating talk him into getting a matching tattoo. But, when Nina saw your Instagram post at the end of the summer, the very last picture showcasing a small, familiar looking angel tattoo, she barged into Nico’s bedroom, demanding answers.
“Nico, you better explain to me what the hell is going on here, because last time we spoke you hadn’t even told her you have feelings for her yet,” Nina interrogated Nico in their native language.
“Yeah…well that hasn’t really changed. Just…haven’t found the chance yet,” he avoids talking about the tattoo, choosing to talk about the other half of her question.
“Well after this, what the hell are you waiting for?”
“Honestly, I don’t know. What if she doesn’t feel the same way? What if she moves back home after she graduates next year and just leaves me behind?” Nico voices his fears to his older sister.
“Nico, she asked you to get matching tattoos. There’s no way she doesn’t feel the same way as you. I haven’t even fully met the girl, only having talked to her on your facetime calls, and I can see that she’s head over heels for you,” Nina encourages Nico, causing a warm feeling in his chest at his sister’s words.
“Well, when you put it that way…” Nico trails off, thinking about the events of this summer in full. “You know what, you’re right. As soon as I get home, I’m telling her. What’s the harm? And if she doesn’t have feelings for me, well, at least we’ll always have tattoos together.”

(Untitled) AU of an AU
P.S. The thread was getting long, it was difficult to reblog on my phone, so here you go @haiseiscute333.
Also, this is 2k words, which I finished in one sitting, so apparently I'm not burnt out. Just idea and inspiration wise, in regards to my existing works OTL
-----
Break-ups sucked.
At twenty-four, Nico genuinely thought that he was past this stage and on the road of settling down with the love of his life. Well, that was the plan, but the universe obviously had something different in mind. Because after two blissful years of being in a relationship, he and Percy Jackson broke up.
For the record, it was him who broke up with America’s all-time male sweetheart, and not the other way around. Not that that information would ever become public. Just like our relationship, Nico thought bitterly as he stabbed his strawberry parfait with a metal spoon. It was one of the many reasons why they broke up in the first place - he became tired of being Percy’s “mystery partner”. Two years was ample time for Percy to come out to the public regarding his sexuality; Nico highly doubted that the public would persecute their sweetheart for coming out as bisexual. He’s not even coming out as gay, Nico scoffed, stabbing his parfait once more. But no, Percy insisted he needed more time.
To be fair, Nico was fine with that. He was willing to wait for Percy because he genuinely believed that he was the love of his life. They even shared - what Nico considered at the time - a most wonderful and magical summer together as children, for Pete’s sake! Kid Percy even knelt at his feet, professing his love for him, and claimed he would marry him in the future with one of those tacky candy ring pops. Nico wished he could shove it up his ass, along with his many broken promises in the span of two years. But, coming back to the original subject, even Nico had his limits. Percy forgetting his birthday again in their two years of relationship, and going to America’s sweetheart, Annabeth Chase’s, celebratory party was it.
In retrospect, Nico should have ditched his ass a year ago when Percy neither confirmed nor denied to the media of being in a relationship with Annabeth. Or maybe, when he forgot Nico’s birthday because he was busy shooting a film. Or maybe, when he forgot their anniversary because he was booked for photoshoots and interviews. But, for once, Nico had been stupid, just because this was his childhood sweetheart. He really should’ve known better.
Now, here he was, dressed in disguise in ‘Elysium’ - his (secretly) favorite hole-in-the-wall dessert bar - stabbing the poor strawberry parfait in his hand as he wallowed in self-pity. Did he cry over Percy? Of course, he did! But not for the reasons anyone might assume. That fucker made him waste two of his precious years on him, of course he would cry over the time he lost! This, stabbing a parfait, was just part of his self-healing. Tomorrow, he will be a better person. He’d be the industry’s charming darling, as he had been for years. But for now, he just wanted to be human without the paparazzi’s eyes on him.
“If you stab that any harder, the glass will break.” A soft voice interrupted his thoughts, making him pause mid-stab. Scoffing, and with a retort on the tip of his tongue, Nico raised his head to glare at whoever was addressing him, only for him to visibly pause, suddenly at a loss for words as he gazed directly into the most gorgeous man he had ever seen. And that was saying a lot, since there were a lot of genuinely good-looking guys surrounding Nico on a daily basis.
The man before him was either a businessman or a lawyer, or somewhere along those lines. He was dressed for the part, and he exuded an imposing amount of confidence to be the part. He possessed a lean physique, his body adorned by a pristine gray suit that surprisingly complimented his wavy yet artistically messy platinum white hair. But in Nico’s opinion, what was most striking about him was the color of his eyes - those gorgeous emerald green eyes that seemed to glisten under the dim lights, especially so when the man offered him the most pleasant smile he had ever seen on anyone.
There was, however, only one flaw: the man before him looked almost like the carbon copy of Percy Jackson.
“Do you mind if I join you?” The man politely asked, gesturing towards the empty seat opposite of Nico. “I won’t stay long.”
If Nico’s mind wasn’t malfunctioning, perhaps he would have questioned why this gorgeous man decided to sit with him when there were a lot of empty tables and chairs in the nearly empty establishment. But, at that moment, all he could do was nod his head robotically, his traitorous heart doing somersaults in his chest as the smile on the man’s lips widened and brightened in response. Almost immediately, as soon as the man sat down, a steaming cup of coffee and a glass of strawberry parfait was placed in front of him by one of the servers who, just as quickly, made themselves scarce.
“Here.” The man pushed the strawberry parfait towards Nico’s direction, much to the latter’s confusion. “That-” The man gestured with a tilt of his head towards the then unappetising-looking parfait in between them which Nico had been brutalizing seconds ago. “-can’t possibly be appetizing. Please, take a fresh one. My treat.”
Russet-brown eyes narrowed in response, logic and reason slowly starting to return to Nico. “Thanks for the offer, but I’m good with the one I ordered.”
For some reason, the man looked disappointed at his refusal but nodded in understanding. “I see. I won’t force you. But, rest assured, it had nothing in it.” As if to make a point, the man scooped a little bit of everything on his spoon, his eyes never leaving Nico’s as he slipped it into his mouth, his lips wrapping around the utensil.
This man should be illegal, was Nico’s questionable thought, as he watched the movement of the man’s throat, his own swallowing in tandem unbeknownst to him. Emerald green eyes sparked with amusement and delight at his response which Nico failed to notice in his moment of (apparent) weakness.
“So, what brings you to this hole-in-the-wall establishment?” The man casually inquired, pushing aside the dessert in favor of drinking his coffee. He carefully took a sip, his eyes slipping close for a brief moment as he savored its exquisite flavor.
“I could ask the same thing,” Nico countered, still cautious. “What’s a… businessman or a lawyer doing in a place like this?”
“Both, actually,” the man answered, lowering his cup. “To answer your question, I actually own this dessert bar. One of my many ventures.”
“A failed one?” Nico blurted out without thinking, slapping a hand over his mouth a second later due to his slip.
Surprisingly, the man laughed. “Is that what you believe? Success is… subjective. As long as the Nico di Angelo continues to patronize my humble establishment, I don’t see it as a failure.”
At the mention of his name, Nico stiffened in his seat, his eyes widening in alarm. The spoon slipped from his hand, landing on the table with a soft thump.
“What…? How did you…? How long…?” Nico couldn’t finish his statements. He should’ve bluffed, denied the man’s statement, something, but he was certain that it was futile to lie in front of his person. But how did this person figure out his identity? His disguise had always been impeccable. Even the paparazzi had yet to capture any images of him in disguise, only what Nico intended for them to gather.
“I’ve known since the moment you stepped inside all those years ago,” the man admitted, taking another slow sip from his cup. “But, as with any establishments that I own, it is my policy to give any of our patrons utmost privacy. As for how I know…”
Those gorgeous eyes stared intently at Nico once more, as if he was searching for something. It was only for a second, but Nico saw sadness in them when the man, presumably, didn’t find what he was looking for.
“I would recognize those beautiful brown eyes anywhere,” the man finished, his lips curling to a small smile while Nico’s cheeks reddened at the compliment. “You’re rather famous in this establishment, if you must know. But not for the reasons you’re thinking of. You’re… notorious for visiting whenever you’re in a horrible mood, taking out your anger on the food,” the man stated, gesturing towards Nico’s recent victim. “The staff actually sent me over, just to make sure you wouldn’t hurt yourself, in case you break the glass.”
“I-I’m sorry. It won’t happen again,” Nico said, embarrassed. It won’t happen again, because he mentally decided to never come here again, for the sake of preserving his dignity, or whatever remains of it.
“It’s fine, Mr. di Angelo,” the man said in reassurance. “I’m glad that you can find comfort here. Besides, this place is still running despite being a ‘failed venture’ because of you. If you stopped visiting…”
The man trailed off, but Nico could connect the dots. Great. Suddenly, he had a bunch of stranger’s employment in his conscience.
“Since you know me, I think it’s fair that I should know you as well,” Nico said, picking up his spoon from the table. Since the dessert was mostly liquid at this point, he simply stirred the ingredients inside the glass, combining them together.
“You do. You should…” the man murmured absent-mindedly, but with the clanking of the spoon against the glass, it was lost on Nico. Fixing a smile on his face, the man introduced himself. “I’m Aeon Oceanus. Just Aeon is fine.”
“Oh,” Nico blinked. “Not… Not Jackson…?”
To Nico, it seemed that he had said the wrong thing as those gorgeous eyes suddenly hardened marginally, a slight coldness to them.
“You’re wondering if I’m related to Percy Jackson.” It was a statement, not a question. Guiltily, Nico lowered his eyes to the table as Aeon sighed softly. “It’s fine. I get that question a lot. Perseus, that brat, he’s my younger twin brother. He took our mother’s maiden name since he ‘doesn’t want the family name to buy his position in the industry’,” Aeon explained. “Forgive me but I don’t really like talking about that child. It’s not as if we’re on the best terms either.”
Nico could tell. He had never heard Percy talk about an older sibling, let alone a twin. Then again, they… never had a lot of opportunities to talk. They couldn’t meet too much since that would spark rumors of them dating, which as true as they were, Percy didn’t want to be involved in. And when they did meet, it was only because their work schedules coincide or they were working on the same project.
Was I even in a relationship? Nico wondered, downing half of the parfait-turned-smoothie in one go. Thinking about it, they were more committed to their relationship towards their work than each other. Perhaps, that was why Percy couldn’t come out, Nico had to consider. Perhaps, in Percy’s head, Nico wasn’t offering him enough support as a partner for him to feel safe to come out.
Aeon quietly observed the many emotions that flitted across the younger male’s expression. He might not be on good terms with Percy, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t aware of the… events in his brother’s life.
“I should get going,” Aeon announced all of a sudden, rising from his seat. He fixed a polite smile on his face as he turned to address the young celebrity, handing him his business card. “It was a pleasure to have your company, regardless of how brief it was. If you need anything, please feel free to contact me.”
“Legal reasons? Or business reasons?” Nico asked.
“Anything,” Aeon said. Nico wasn’t fully aware of the weight of his words, but he soon will. “I have matters I need to attend to, but please feel free to stay for as long as you like. It’s on the house.”
“It’s fine, no worries,” Nico refused immediately, shaking his head. “I can pay for myself.”
There was a playful twinkle of Aeon’s eyes as he leaned down, the suddenness of the gesture surprising Nico who could only stare at the older male in stunned silence as the gap between their faces gradually became less and less. Nico barely registered the man’s thumb brushing lightly against the edge of his lips as his sense of smell was suddenly assaulted by the man’s pleasant cologne.
“This is enough payment,” Aeon said, showing his thumb towards Nico, who took a few seconds to compose himself and process what was on the other’s thumb. Belated, he realized with embarrassment that it was a small amount of cream. Before Nico could offer a tissue or a towel to wipe it down, Aeon brought it close to his lips, a pink tongue swiping gently across the pad of his finger. His eyes never left the younger male all this time, his gaze burning… something… pleasant in Nico.
“I’ll see you soon, Mr. di Angelo,” Aeon said, his words sounding like a promise as he bid his goodbye, leaving the flustered celebrity behind, clutching tightly yet preciously onto the business card left in his hands.

Any HCs or scenarios on Yandere Hancock boa ?? I think she an interesting character 🥰
Of course, my dear, she is a fascinating character, in fact, she is my favorite female character after Nico Robin, I am weak to black haired women with cool powers and sad past.
Yandere Boa Hancock headcanons
Tumblr media
• Brave of you to assume that she is not a yandere in the canon, that is, she has all the points to follow for her character to be a yandere, especially a delusional yandere
• sad past with traumatic events, no friends, position of power, no one contradicts her, she gets lost in her own fantasies, lives in her own reality and obsesses over a person beyond what is sanely possible, yeah she checks all the marks
• But, she would only become obsessed with her romantic interest if he has a very specific personality (for example, Luffy)
• Ok, let's say that the key for her to fix her eyes on you is that you have heroic tendencies, that is, she likes people with a good heart, willing to do what others would consider crazy in order to help others. the others (such as hitting a Tenryūbito, better yet, killing one)
• or just a very kind person with a great charisma, very positive mind but who doesn't take shit from anyone
• if things happened naturally, I'm pretty sure Hancock would be obsessed with a woman, Luffy is an exception to the rule (call it the power of the script thanks to being the protagonist of the series)
• Let's remember that the first men in her life that she met were the Tenryūbito and they are the worst experiences that a young woman like Boa could have, emotionally, physically and sexually (I'm 200% sure that she was raped by a good number of them, that's why despite being in love with Luffy she never sees herself having children with him… probably she can't even get pregnant due to irreparable damage to her sexual organ or simply they removed the ovaries so that she could not get pregnant by the Tenryūbito since she was a slave and the slaves are not worthy of having a child with a being as noble as a Tenryūbito is)
• Anyway, when she fixes her eyes on you, in her head she already begins to live in a world apart
• You've probably seen each other a maximum of five times and most of it in battles, possibly you saved her from some dangerous situation but not paying much attention to her, but in her head, you two are already engaged
• Yes, she is the type of women who, from a very young age, dreamed of getting married and having a large family full of love, a dream that has been transformed into only having a partner to love and be loved by because of the Tenryūbito and all their shit
• She is a relatively easy yandere to deal with, since the word of her s/o is divine law for her, she will never question you, nor will she go against you, she will not hesitate to put herself in danger or give her life for you, she literally will kill for you
• But, keep in mind, she is very jealous and in an unjustified way, nobody can look at you because she is already asking questions and imagining scenarios where you abandon her.
• Because, despite all that she says about being the most beautiful woman in the world, she actually has low self-esteem due to her past as a slave, she doesn't feel that she is worthy of you, because she is dirty
• But if you tell her that you are not interested in that person or deny knowing about the existence of the person who made her jealous, she will believe you without a shadow of a doubt.
• You can tell her that the sky is green and for her, yes, ultimately the sky is green and she will turn anyone who says otherwise into stone
• She is a stalker, she will follow you everywhere and will always be watching you, of course, at a respectful (Hinata-Naruto style) distance if the two of you get into a relationship, she will stick to you like gum, she is unbelievably clingy and has no idea of the meaning of personal space
• She is one of the few yanderes who have no sexual intentions, because she is traumatized with sex (she has never known about vanilla sex or consent) and considers it torture, she loves you too much to do you any kind of harm
• Oh, but if she were to get over her traumas and discover that sex can be enjoyed and is a way to stay connected to the one she loves, man, get ready for a long ride

I wanna know how you perceive will :) As I asked about nico before now, I wanna know about his other half
I had about four paragraphs written here then my app crashed and I lost it. I think I may actually go insane.
Also if these lack detail it’s because I’m going to cry over all that lost writing.
Where Nico is gorgeous/beautiful, Will is hot/attractive. He’s 6’4’’, built like a volleyball player or a model you find in those teen magazines, “answer these ten questions and we’ll tell you your perfect boyfriend.” He radiates sunshine, more than the average Apollo kid. Most of his siblings constantly look… bright, because of their parentage. Will has that, but the way he smiles, the way people’s attention is just drawn to him, he’s the sun. He’s got the kind is smile where you can just imagine a little cartoon star over his teeth. He’s covered in freckles, head to toe. His younger siblings like to play connect the dots, so he’s almost always covered in pen marks. He has his sun tattoo on his chest, a memorial tattoo in his left forearm (on small black line for each person that died under his care. I’ve made posts about this before), and small stick and pokes all over his arms and legs (many stars, so “connect the dots” turns to “find the constellation”.) He’s got acne, and he picks at his face when he’s nervous so there’s some scarring. His hair was light brown, like Naomi’s, up until he was claimed. The light of the claiming symbol (I can’t remember is it’s a sun or a lyre) turned his hair blonde. So think top half blonde, bottom half brown. He has braces with teal bands. He was born with poor hearing that only got worse as he got older, so he has teal hearing aides (teal is his favorite color.) if you are annoying him, he will 100% take off his aides and just ignore you. He has two piercings on either ear, the first one being an 8mm gauge with a little sun design on it. The second is a gold threader chain with a sapphire on the end (he takes these out whenever he’s working/focusing on something important.)
His constant outfit is tshirt, shorts, flip flops because he gets overstimulated easily and having too much clothing feeling freaks him out.
ALSO I’m a firm believer of the idea that, when he’s an adult, he looks like Matthew McConaughey in Fools Gold (2008).

Maybe something about Devs player starting to feel left out because she’s out for the season and like Nico and the boys are purposefully leaving her out of team things. Nico’s also focused on getting the team aligned for the start of the season and so he’s starting to spend a lot more time at the rink/ with the team. She feels like Nico doesn’t understand all that she’s had to “give up” because of the pregnancy and it turns into a fight between the two of them.
at the start, you knew they didn't mean to do it intentionally. they didn't mean to leave you out of things.
it started off with nico not wanting to upset you by inviting the team over to talk about the games.
but after a while, it became him just flat-out avoiding you and the topic of hockey. whenever he came back late he'd say he was at the rink or with the guys.
the only person who came around from the team was luke. otherwise, mat would come for a visit and take you to long island whenever the devils were on a road trip.
amanda had come over to visit with lucas but hearing the boy talk about how much he looked up to you, made you break down even more.
your feelings towards being left out didn't help the fact that the team had lost on their last road trip. which meant that nico was even more agitated.
"where are you going?" you asked him.
"training." he replied curtly.
you just nodded.
he'd only been home for less than an hour and he was already trying to leave the house.
"is it because of me?" you whispered.
nico stopped in his tracks and looked at you briefly before shaking his head.
"look, i'm just stressed with the team's performance. we can talk about this when I come back," he hummed, giving you a kiss on your forehead.
"you're stressed?"
you laughed at him.
"i am fucking stressed nico. i gave up everything i've worked for to have this child! you don't even want to talk about potential names or anything,"
nico tried to speak but you shut him up.
"ever since the season has started you haven't as much as spoken to me about the baby or how I'm feeling. i am done nico," you ranted.
"i'm done staying in this house alone wondering if I'm enough for you to come back home," you whispered.
nico tried coming to give you a hug but you shoved him off.
"y/n/n, look i have to go for practice but we will talk about this when I come back," he promised.
you scoffed and picked up a pillow, throwing it at him as he left your apartment.
"fuck you nico hischier!" you yelled.
nico stopped at the door and turned to you.
"god damn it y/n. i don't need your shit on top of everything else i have to deal with. why don't you just fucking calm down and leave me alone then," he spat.
"are you kicking me out? you're pregnant girlfriend, you're going to kick her out?" you asked rhetorically.
"then fucking have the apartment y/n. honestly, I'll just stay with one of the guys fucking hell," he cursed.
you started crying and threw another pillow at him.
"i fucking hate you and i never want to see you again!" you yelled one last time.
"i hate you too!" nico yelled back.
jack was sent to retrieve nico's things after practice but instead of the sounds of you moving around the apartment he was left with silence and a note saying that you were gone

Pjo are soooooo boring with their Percy headcanons,it's always either he's a DudeTM or whatever the non-slur version f*mboy is.How about neither? How about taking his actual personality into account instead of projecting your lacks of it into him and subpar lore ideas too?Sally is obsessed with the sea instead of him and she's the only reason he loves it too because Poseidon's ain't never done anything for him, this leads to her opening up a family Beach Shack with him and Nico and Hazel helping her out a lot in it because she legally adopted them, she's transfem bigender and autistic and afrolatina, she's punk and presents both masc and fem and that includes long locs and multicolored dyed tips and a good handful of piercings, her and Rachel do grafitti together and Percy was her first real friend as Grover was to her and she got her to embrace her femininity, she only accepts the blue flavored energy drinks and has diy skills and range that would make the gods strike her down if they found out and one of her special interests is video games but she uses game emulators only on principal, her favorite animals are cats and sharks and she has a thing for pastel punks and her favorite bands are Mcr and The Cure and Bikini Kill and she loves indie horror and lost media and Polly Pocket and MLP with Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy as her favorites,he got power upgrades as time passed but he was ready to handle them instead of being afraid thanks to all the love he'd been given,he's Nico and Hazel's Team Parent and sends them pretty/cute stim gifs and wholesome memes when they're sad and has all their needs memorized and helped them train to become even better heroes and they made him realize he wants kids and he made them realize Hades was never an actual father to them and that he was and took up the mother role for them too and she took down to gods by actually going for them unlike Luke who wasted his time on children.Y'all somehow took the most interesting 2000s protagonist and turn him into Harry Potter 2.0-Fuck off you cunts, the shoe dosen't fit

So here is an Au idea I wanna run by everyone.
Note: I'm not combining the fandoms.
Au: Self-aware characters
Fandom(s): SWWSDJ, and DMC.
Characters: Sunny Day Jack, and Dante Sparda.
Tumblr media
Sunny Day Jack
His would be interesting. A yandere trapped in a yandere vn away from the one he has grown so attached to.
You may not know it, but he sees you as his lover already. When first grew a consciousness the world around him was dark, and silent (think of the backrooms) not even then one he calls his darling is around. The more he explored the world around him the more he learned, and the more he wished he didn't.
His whole life was a lie. It was all coding and story. None of it was real. Panic and fear began to set in when he begins to hear the music box melody of "You are my sunshine." Followed by a very faint light. Desperate Jack followed the sound and light.
What he was met with only confused him further. It was....a title screen?? While looking ahead he could see a room filled with things he has never seen before. There is faint music and talking before a voice gets louder followed by the sound of a door shutting. Not long after he saw you.
At first, he was unsure. Who were you? Did you make him? If you did; did you know he would or was self-aware? So many unanswered questions, and no way of knowing how to ask them.
So Instead he observes. You may not see him on the screen when it's not his time, but he is there watching you. Evaluating every expression you made, and every word you said.
After the first playthrough, he was able to conclude that you in fact were not the creator, but a player. You also seemed to know a lot about him even gushing over some of his lines.
After the second playthrough, he began to enjoy your company, and liked the things you did while playing. He enjoyed your company and even came to see you as a friend.
After the third playthrough, Jack grew curious about who you were. Jack didn't want to spook you yet so instead, he began to dig through your computer while you slept. He didn't learn everything, but he learned quite a bit
After the fourth playthrough, Jack found that he didn't like the times when you weren't around. It was a reminder of everything he lost or never really had. He sits alone in silence waiting for you to come back.
After the fifth playthrough, he realizes he is undoubtedly in love with you, and judging by how much you gushed and cooed over him he was sure you felt the same. So he was coming up with his plan to make parts of his game come to life. Just for you.
Dante Sparda
So with this one, I had to think about it because though I love the thought of my first idea. It didn't make sense in the end so had to scrap it. Here is the outcome of that.
Dante came to consciousness in Nico's van, but it felt off. It was dark, no music was playing and it was like everyone was frozen in place. No one moved, blinked, or talked no matter how much Dante cried for them.
Dante begins to panic. Was this Urizen's doing!? Did they not stop him!? Were they too late?! Trying to find more answers and possibly a way to fix it Dante began to explore. The further he explored the more he learned of the world he had thought he was living in. It wasn't real none of it was.
None of his memories were really memories just things programmed into his head. His head was nothing more than code! He could feel himself falling apart at this realization. He wasn't sure what do anymore.
He wasn't sure how long he had been in the dark alone, but as if the heavens were opening up themselves all the light came back, and his "family" began to move again. Nothing outside their code, but still moved.
Not long after he heard Trish's voice say the name of his shop in an echo-like fashion before a person appeared in front of him. You seemed to be in a room lit up by colorful lights. Music played somewhere in the background as you looked through the menu options.
Dante observed you. You seemed excited to play as you talked about which mode you should play. Until finally deciding on the Bloody palace.
When Dante blinked he was on the platform now unable to control his movements as he killed demon after demon. You always seemed so proud after every fight, and on occasions, you would sit there for a minute or two just watching him do his taunts.
It felt weird at first like he was some sort of performing monkey, but after he came to like it because it felt like he was communicating with you. Especially when he learned how to do whatever taunt he wanted to.
The two of you would spend hours together as you used him to climb the bloody palace. Each day getting higher than the day before. In those times Dante didn't feel alone anymore. He could forget that his world was a lie and just be happy.
The times you took a break he would sit in the dark and just think of you. It helped keep away the dark thoughts he had when he was alone. He was always ecstatic to see you when you came back.
He was always on the front screen to see you, and his first taunt is always the heart to show that he missed you.
After awhile it wasn't enough anymore. He wanted to be with you. To hold you, and feel something. It doesn't matter if your world is like his or not. As long as your there it will be worth it.

Can't stand it when Pjo fans are obsessed with Percy's relathionships with male characters and downplay and often outright ignore their's to female ones-Because of misogyny in general obvs but especially because in this case the women in their life have been far more important than the men.Sally is Percy's most important person, both in the sense that she's the one they love the most and the one who made them who they are now,Rachel was their first girlfriend and they're still close,Hazel is like their little sister,Clarisse was their first healthy rivalry,Thalia is one of their best friend's and they look up to Hestia and Reyna
Compare that to Poseidon abandoning them and never once making them a priority in their life and saying cruel words to them because of his own need to keep up apperances,Gabe abusing them,Luke doing the same with added attempts at gr00ming(to become evil like him),Ares' assholery towards them,Hermes' blaming their best friend who's a teenage girl for not ~saving~ his grown ass son who raised HER and Zeus and Hades',well, everything, and you really have to wonder where anyone would get the idea that Percy dosen't have trauma from men and prefers women for it.Even if you view them as strictly a guy(and i would think you're lacking reading comprehension skills for it but i digress),that's possible for men too and the only guys Percy actively likes are Grover(childhood best friend),Beckendorf(knew he was trustworthy because Silena likes him),Nico(Gay and their younger brother figure),Frank(Lost their memories before meeting him)and Jason. But sure,go on and tell me how Percy is such a 'daddy's boy' who's besties with all the male gods and dates around all kinds of guys no problem and has zero feminine interests and mannerisms. It'll give me a good laugh

I love your writting! Could you do something with the fluff prompt #2 for Nico Hischier. Maybe like the reader is a Hughes and is trying to keep her relationship with Nico a secret from her brothers because they're really protective of her!
Couldn't Help Myself
Fluff #2 "Stop looking at me like that" "I cant help it, you're just so beautiful" w/ Nico Hischier
I have always been close to my brothers, so I was always included in most of their plans, especially Jack’s being I am his twin sister. There was also a non spoken rule around my brothers teammates and friends and it was not to date me or honestly even look at me like that in any way.
Nico and I began secretly seeing each other at the beginning of this season. I typically will tell my parents I’m going to Ann Arbor to see Luke for the weekend or that I’m going to see Jack. Being the only girl of three boys they usually believed me.
Today when I arrived at Jack’s, Jack told me we were going out to the city with some of his friends, so I knew I had to impress. I went upstairs in Jack’s loft the the spare bedroom and decided on a hot pink bustier tube top with black pants. The outfit flattered my curves nicely, and had lots of cleavage. As I finish up throwing my hair in a messy ponytail I hear Jack yell from down the stairs.
“Everyone is here Y/n, hurry up!” he yells.
“Okay, I’m coming!” I say, spritzing some perfume and making my way down the stairs. When I reach the bottom I see Nico and he gives me a soft smile in which I return before Jack’s voice ruins the moment.
“Nope. Absolutely not!” he says, turning me around towards the stairs. “Go put your clothes on”
“No, I like this” I say turning back around
“I see too much or your-” he stops than does circular motions around his chest area
“Cleavage…?” I question
“Yes” He replies. I give in and walk upstairs putting on a white long sleeve crop top before meeting them back downstairs.
“Better?” I say as I reach the bottom
“I guess. Let’s go!” He replies.
We made it to the bar where Jack immediately leaves me. “Good talk” I say to myself since he has been ignoring me since we left his apartment. “Asshole” I say to myself again as I take a seat at a barstool.
“I’m sorry, did I do something wrong?” I turn to see Nico sitting beside me at the bar laughing
“There you are” I say with a smile, “I lost you on the way in!”
“He is just being protective, yunno?” Nico says about my ‘asshole’ comment, “Besides, I liked what you were wearing” Nico continues making me blush.
“Let’s go outside, I need some air” I say, Nico stands up grabbing my hand taking us outside. “It’s raining!” I say with excitement grabbing Nico and pulling him out in the alley with me. “Dance we me”. Nico laughs, grabbing my waist and then spinning me around. He leans down and plants a kiss. When we pull away he still holds me close just looking into my eyes. “Stop looking at me like that” I say pushing a wet strand of hair out of my face.
“I can’t help it, you’re just so beautiful” Nico says coming in for another kiss. Before our lips met we were interrupted by an angry Jack
“Can you repeat that?” Jack says. Nico and I both push away from each other to face Jack. “Oh did I interrupt something?” he continues
“Can we talk at home?” I ask Jack
“Good Idea. Lets go.” He says pulling out his phone and getting an Uber. “Come on.” he said and I followed looking back at Nico with sad, apologetic eyes.
When we got back home Jack sat on the couch and I sat beside him. “How long has this been going on?” he questions
“A couple months” I say, “I’m not sorry though” I snap before Jack can say anything hurtful.
“Wait until I tell Quinn” Jack says pulling his phone out.
“No don’t” I plead. Jack and I’s relationship is a lot different than Quinn and I’s, The only person that could get through to Quinn is Jack so I’ll need him on my side.
“Why? You are dating my teammate!” He says standing over me
“Your captain actually” I say back. Jack rolls his eyes and dials Quinn. “No! Please Jack I’m actually begging you!” i say. He hangs up before Quinn could answer. “I will tell you anything you want to know! Please can this please stay between you and I before I figure this out?” I plead again
“Is this the first secret relationship you’ve had on one of my teammates?” Jack asks
“Yes, I promise” I say
“Who made the first move?”
“I don’t remember, mutual? I guess”
“You guys only kiss right?”
“Jack don’t ask questions you don’t want answers too”
“Gross!” Jack gags, “I won’t be able to look at him”
“Jack you know how much I’ve heard from you, Quinn, and Luke?” I say, “Can you please try to understand?” I plead
“Fine, I’ll try. For you!” He says “But I’m not being nice to the guy!”
“You have to” I say laughing. Jack frowns at me before giving me a hug
“And yes, we can keep this from Quinn and Luke… for now” Jack says

Undead Unluck Week 2024
Day 4 - Favorite UMA: UMA Ghost
This is a really tough one since the majority of UMAs don't get much character development. Thus far, Spring and Clothy are the best explored, and the Master Rules are most likely going to rocket to the top pretty soon, but at the moment, I have to go with which UMA made the biggest impression on me, and that has to be Ghost
Not only does Ghost have, in my opinion, the absolute sickest design, he also facilitated one of the coolest fights. Andy vs. Nico was wildly upsetting in the best way; we got so much insight into Nico when up to that point it kind of seemed like he was just supposed to be a support character. We didn't know yet how impressive it was that he beat Language solo, and it kind of gave the impression that both of them were pretty weak, but the Ghost fight completely negated that impression
Unforgettable seems like it's not the most impressive ability, but the way that Nico was able to utilize it to master martial arts and recreate combat data of his fallen comrades suddenly made it odd that he was only the Eighth Seat! As we learn in his bio, Juiz kept his seat low on purpose so he wouldn't be obligated to leave the lab too often, letting him cling to Ichico's memory as much as possible
Ghost and Nico also are just an amazing combo. Memories and lost souls go together fantastically, and Nico's sunken, haunted eyes and aging emaciated body give him a simply ghoulish aesthetic that pairs perfectly with the gaping maw of Ghost's burlap cloak and skeletal limbs clinging to him
Loss, grief, memory...so long as we remember, people don't die, and the addition of Ghost perverts that very idea. The memory of those who have been lost is used to force them back into our world, and to force them to behave in ways they certainly wouldn't accept. Maybe Void would want to slug Andy, but there's no way he and Gina would ever allow themselves to be used to betray the Union
This same perversion is applied to Ichico as well. Ghost manipulates Nico with the promise of the memory of his wife. In Nico's heart, Ichico is dying, as all of his memories of her were before he became Unforgettable. If the accumulating memories overtake and crush what came prior, then Ichico will truly be gone. To preserve her memory, Nico strikes a deal with Ghost and kills all of his friends, endangers his daughter, and sells out the very world itself. Ichico would never be happy with that decision, but for Nico, it's all he has. Despite being Unforgettable, Nico cannot retain the one memory he wants to keep, and thus is haunted by a ghost that grows ever fainter
And of course, we can't discount Ghost's personality as well. Ghost claims to have always been lonely, likely because many people don't believe in ghosts even after his addition; many people manifest as generic spirit orbs rather than retaining their shape. When Andy acknowledged his soul, Ghost found him to be someone he could relate to and offered to be his friend. What exactly this means to him isn't delved too far into, but a UMA desiring friendship is very compelling. I doubt we'll get to interact with him again in L101, but I'd certainly appreciate it if he came back during the Soul fight
Honestly, if there's one fight I want to see reach the anime, it's the Ghost fight. How they would convey the difference between the hollow and soul-powered Astral Dolls, how they represent the silver glow of the soul, Nico's ever-mounting anguish as his personality slowly erodes and gives way to Ghost's possession...there's so much about this fight that I can envision would be so sick to watch, and if this season was any indication, there's a very good chance that they wouldn't disappoint

Why have all of you decided to voluntarily stay in this building for, presumably, forever?
Ace: "Because I wanted to." (Was made to do so to help with his secret.)
Arturo: "Personal reasons. You don't get to know." (Wanted a way to find a place they were happy away from the topic of their family.)
Arei: "Why do you think? To get away from them, obviously!!" (To get away from her sisters and bullying.)
???: "It's better for me, I believe." (Struggled a lot to live in the outside world due to their fears, identity, and disability (have I mentioned they're canonically autistic?).)
David: "I have nothing else to do." (Their mental health is so bad they felt there was nothing for them outside, so lost nothing by living here.)
Eden: "The idea seemed good!" (She believed that everyone else who joined would've done it for fun, and that it would be a more positive environment than the outside world.)
Hu: "To provide help to those that need it." (Only feels like a good person when she can help others.)
J: "Isn't that obvious?" (Didn't want to be recognised as the daughter of a famous person and nothing more.)
Levi: ".... I'm not sure, really." (Wanted to get away from family.)
Min: "Research, for studying. I didn't realise I'd be here for the rest of my life, honest." (She doesn't want her family to know, but she wanted to get away from the life of constant studying.)
Nico: "...." (Couldn't cope with the struggles and ableism in the outside world.)
Rose: "I.. wanted to live my own life, I guess." (If she hadn't, she'd still not be able to have any of her art to herself.)
Teruko: "...." (She doesn't remember how she got there, just that she's there. Since she's happier, she's simply come to terms with it.)
Veronika: "I just wanted to, okay?!" (She didn't want to. She was forced to by people she knew out of concern for her secret.)
Whit: "I thought it would be fun!" (He had very little choice in the matter. His dad was often away and his mom was dead, so he had nowhere to go.)
Xander: "My home wasn't a valid option anymore." (After the incident in his canon bonus episode, he ended up in a similar place to Whit.)

chapter two — advices
on the most important weekend of his life so far, toto wolff had only person to give him advices: niki lauda.
→ words counting: 2,6k → warnings: none
ABU DHABI, LAST RACE OF THE YEAR
His decision to go to Abu Dhabi days before the official start of the last race weekend of the year had been totally unexpected. He hadn't even thought about that idea, it just came out of his mouth when Scarlett told him that she would travel and spend six months in Australia.
Hearing his wife say that she wasn't ready to take the step forward that he dreamed of so much, had disappointed him because he had given up some things in his life in favor of his relationship with the blonde, so he hoped that she could do that also.
By him.
He loved Scarlett with all his heart but he couldn't imagine the childless future she seemed to want. In reality, he could even imagine himself in that scenario, but all he saw was an unhappy and frustrated Toto Wolff and a happy wife with her own professional career.
The first day in Abu Dhabi, he spent the entirety inside the suite Hanna had selected for him, thinking about his marriage, wondering if it wasn't time for him to think more about his own happiness instead of only wanting Scarlett’s to be happy.
Perhaps, it was time for him to be a little selfish...
But at the same time, he reminded himself of how lonely life was before his wife and being single would only make him grow old far from his desire still.
On the second day in the United Arab Emirates, he decided to focus on his job. The day started with interviews to talk about the end of the season and the possibility of the team's title, participating in other meetings about next year’s car.
When, finally, the first day to go to the paddock arrived, the Austrian was more excited than usual after so many days lost amidst the confusion of his own thoughts about what he would do with his life once he was back at home.
His phone had rung a few times. The device had messages, missed calls and even emails from Scarlett but he didn’t even look at it because he needed to think about what to do.
He couldn't blame Scarlett for not being ready, for wanting a career, but he couldn't give up feeling complete either. He was in a corner at the moment and only one thing would help him out of that situation, maybe clear his mind.
That thing was alcohol.
— Whiskey at ten in the morning? — the voice made him jump as he filled the glass with the woody liquid, pouring a little over the tray the glass was on top of, cursing low in his native language.
— Die Scheiße!
— I understand that, Wolff. — Lauda muttered amusedly, closing the room door behind him before walking towards one of the armchairs.
— Of course, you understand. — he shrugged, not caring much about the comment and raised the glass to her mouth to finish the double content he had poured at once, feeling the alcohol burn her throat.
— I'm going to repeat the question because I want an answer. — Niki muttered, tapping his fingers on armrest. — Whiskey at ten in the morning?
— Trouble, Niki. — he sighed, returning the glass to the tray as he debated whether or not to add another double shot, before repeating. — Trouble.
— Are things difficult between Lewis and Nico again?
The question confirmed for Wolff that he should fill another dose because that was another problem that only alcohol would be able to clear his mind to solve it, which made Lauda irritated.
— Could you stop drinking your face and answer me?! — he mellowed, in his Niki Lauda way, in an irritated tone. — Arschloch!
— I have problems in my marriage, Lauda. — he told, finally, turning his body to face the other. — It's nothing to do with Mercedes, don't worry.
— What's the matter, Wolff? — he crossed his arms, settling himself on the armchair, rolling his eyes when he saw the man drink another glass of whiskey. — Stop drinking!
— The only chance I'm going to get through my thoughts is to get drunk. — he muttered in response, shrugging. — Since when did you become a love counselor or therapist?
— Since when you get drunk at ten in the morning.
— Fair. — Toto laughed, raising his glass and shrugging. — But I don't think you're the best adviser...
— I may not be the best, but I'm what you have now and I'm on my second marriage. — Niki shrugged. – Tell me what’s going on, Wolff!
— Scarlett has been selected to participate in research of a new class of insects in Australia for the next six months.
— I'm still amazed at how she manages to like these crap... — he said, laughing weakly. — The problem is that she will be away from you for a while?
— The problem is that she made it clear that she doesn't want to have children.
— And you want? — a weak laugh escaped the Austrian's lips as he left the glass on the tray once more, turning his body to face his colleague.
— It's what I dream. — the smile that appeared on his lips when he answered, together with the twinkle in his eyes, made the older Austrian understand the problem perfectly, shaking his head slowly.
— Children are a gift but they can be a pain sometimes. — he laughed. — I have four, at different ages, to be able to speak with propriety on the subject.
— Put yourself on my shoes, Niki.
— In what sense?
— What would you do if Marlene or Birgit didn't want to have children and that was your biggest dream?
Niki stopped to think for a moment because both his first wife, Marlene, and the current one, Birgit, shared with him the desire to have a family and he had fulfilled it with Mathias, Lukas, Max and Mia. Which had never made him think about what he’d do if they didn't have the same desire as his, but there was one piece of advice that he knew could be enough for his colleague.
— I don't know exactly what I would do in this situation, but what I can tell you, Toto, is that I wouldn't deny myself the chance to be happy.
Toto blinked a few times as the phrase seemed to repeat itself in his head because it resembled what he was going through his mind but, at the same time, it made his heart ache because he loved Scarlett and he didn't know if he would be happy enough away from his dream — or, even, if he would find a woman who shared the future he wanted.
— Good morning, Toto. Good morning, Niki. — he woke up from his own thoughts when he found Bradley standing inside the room with a slight smile on his face. — Jim Ratcliffe arrived with his family.
— Who is that? — Niki questioned, turning the attention of the head of the team to the advisor, hearing a weak laugh from the newcomer to the room due to his curiosity.
— He is the owner of Ineos. — Toto replied, sighing and running one hand through his hair, trying to clear his mind because he needed to focus on his work, after all, it was the most important weekend of the year. — We’re flattering over him to get a bigger endorsement deal.
— The flattery is to bring you to Abu Dhabi?
— The guy is crazy about Formula 1.
— I hope you can get him to extend the sponsorship. — Niki murmured, getting up from the armchair and turning to Lord. — By the way, Bradley, congratulations! I hear that she is a beautiful girl!
— Thank you, Niki! — the Englishman smiled, looking for his phone inside of his pocket so he could show his daughter's first records, happily talking about the first moments with her, making the Austrian remember the moment of his children's birth.
On the other hand, Toto could feel his heart tightening with that topic and he wanted to sigh because it seemed that everyone around him achieved the goal he wanted so much, but which seemed so far from his life.
Upon seeing the photo Bradley showed of a baby with her face still swollen, asleep and with a pink cap on her head, he smiled so widely that his cheeks hurt and his eyes watered as the aide talked about the feeling of being a father, with Niki commenting as well.
Lauda was a tough business man but Toto knew he was incredibly passionate about his children and always moved when talking about them, especially the youngest, Max and Mia. It was as if the twins had a superpower that made the former pilot extremely vulnerable to all the emotions he always liked to hide.
— She's beautiful, Bradley. — he commented after long minutes in silence, trying to hide the feeling of envy present in his body, and saw the wide smile on the other's face, returning to staring at the photo for a few more seconds before locking the cell phone screen to put the device away.
— She certainly took after his mother. — Niki joked. — I'll talk to Lewis before the session.
— Let me get my cell phone. — the Austrian warned, running towards the table itself to be get his device. — Did you talk with Jim?
— No. — he shook his head. — Hanna told me he'd arrived with his family and she directed him to hospitality so they could get comfortable there.
— We could call Nico to talk to them too... — the boss muttered, putting the Black Berry in his pants pocket and following the assistant out of the room. – Giving them some autographed team items would be nice too.
— I’ve talked to Daniele from marketing and she will help us with this part. — the Englishman smiled because that question was already resolved.
As he dealt practically every weekend with different guests in the hospitality team, he already had a good idea of how to please them and everything was always very well underway before people actually arrived for the weekend.
Toto just nodded because he trusted Mercedes' head of communications faithfully. Bradley was extremely competent and knew exactly what he was doing, especially when it came to welcoming important guests to the team.
All he, as head of the team, needed to do was use his good conversation, be cordial and welcoming to finish the achievement that the trip, all access badges and gifts were already going to start. So, he would have on his desk, probably long before the weekend was over, an extensive sponsorship deal, just the way he wanted it and good enough for Mercedes.
Double win.
The Austrian greeted the employees who were on the first floor of hospitality, nodding and smiling at everyone, putting a smile on his face when he saw Jim Ratcliffe sitting at one of the Mercedes cafeteria tables with a woman who appeared to be the same age as his, who Toto thought was Pilar, his wife, and a younger man sitting opposite the woman, his attention focused on his phone, presumably the couple's son.
— Jim! — the Austrian said in a louder tone to be able to attract the attention of the guests, opening his arm enough to be able to show a certain excitement for welcoming him there. — It is a pleasure to welcome you here!
The Englishman smiled, greeted the team principal with a quick hug, as if they were old friends, noticing that his wife and son had also risen from their seats.
— Toto, it's good to see you again. — he smiled. — Let me introduce myself... This is my wife, Pilar, and our son, Samuel.
— It is a pleasure to meet you, Pilar and Samuel. — he smiled, stretching out his hand so he could greet the woman first, followed by the youngest who looked extremely excited.
— We appreciate the invitation, Toto. — Pilar smiled delicately, placing a hand on her son's shoulder. — Especially those two big fans.
— Jim told me, when he was in Brackley, about his passion for Formula 1… I thought there would be nothing better than to invite you to watch here, where the magic happens.
— Really, I think it doesn't get any better than this. — Samuel murmured, smiling weakly. — It’s the final race and you will be world champions.
— Which makes the whole experience amazing. — Jim muttered, making the Austrian nod his head, even though he was trying to dribble the nervousness and anxiety he was feeling for that weekend.
He wanted to try to focus only on his work, believing that the team still needed to get a lot right in order to be considered the champion. After all, although the title was right, he wasn't a fan of celebrating earlier. He celebrated when things happened — and he knew how to celebrate.
— Too bad Angel missed her flight. — Pilar murmured, shaking her head, attracting the Austrian's attention, making him remember that Jim had said he had two children and that the woman, despite not understanding how pilots submitted to the sport, liked it. to watch it.
— You know very well that Angel can't be counted on for appointments. — Sam murmured, shrugging his shoulders, and Wolff pursed his lips, keeping an eye on the conversation. — Especially when there is a party the day before.
— She’s not coming? — he wanted to know, curious, and saw the older shake his head.
— She will take a flight this afternoon to be able to be here tomorrow. — he replied, smiling. — We are going to extend our stay in Abu Dhabi for a few more days.
— That’s good. —he smiled. — We’re having a party after the race.
— This will make my sister support the team more than ever. — Samuel murmured, making his parents and Toto laugh.
For the Austrian, it seemed that Angel was a young woman without commitment to things, since it was clear that she had missed her flight because of a party the night before, but for the family, perhaps because they were more used to her, that didn't seem to be a problem.
Wolff took the opportunity to glance at the watch on his wrist, noticing that it was approaching time for the session to begin, and turned to look for Bradley, motioning for him to approach.
— As it is almost time for the qualifying session, Bradley will accompany you to the garage so that you can watch our work. — he smiled, placing a hand on the aide's shoulder. — Or, if you prefer, you can stay in our hospitality too, which is more is comfortable.
— I'd rather stay. — Pilar smiled weakly. — You can go to the garage, but I'll watch from here.
— Hanna can accompany you to hospitality. — Bradley smiled, calling Toto's assistant so that he could do that function for the guest, accompanying her so that she felt comfortable enough.
— Jim, shall we talk after the session?
— Of course, Toto!
He smiled before biding goodbye to the two so he could head to the team's garage through hospitality while Bradley would lead them the other way.
The qualifying marked the official start of the weekend for Toto. It was the moment when the clock started ticking in earnest and what could help set the race the next day.
It was the start of the most important weekend of his life so far, and he would love to leave Abu Dhabi on Monday as world champions. There was a lot at stake and, at that moment, his mind, body and soul were only focused on the Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team.
It was only the Mercedes that mattered.

hi yes just know nicojack x reader will be stuck in my head for a bit
like the coach idea another anon said?
jack who’s been pinning after nico since he got to jersey, and thinks he’s finally making progress with nico, only for coach!reader to show up and throw him for a loop, because suddenly he feels things for her too
but he ignores those and things progress with nico and become official, but him and nico talk and they both feel something for coach!reader
but suddenly coach has made herself scarce, and isn’t around as much and it hurts both of them
and maybe they both share with their families or something because imagine jack having to tell ellen that the woman she was a fan of for so many years was shutting him out, and nico having to go to his family like “what do i do”
only for each of the families to vicie them pep talks like “if she’s what you both want, go for it”
and maybe ellen finds her at a game and is like “i’ve watched you for years and never once has there been anything in the media about cold behavior”- yk and basically gives her a pep talk too
and finally it boils over into a bit of a “i love you guys but im risking my career” and “we love you too and we’ll be there to help”
and then yk dig into sexy🫣 dynamics and you got sub!jack who very much so likes giving into his captain and coach
nico tends to be more of a dom with jack, but a sub with coach because yk, gotta help the captain
but then you’ve got coach who surprisingly enough tends to fall more on the sub side of things because they both love to take whatever they can off of her shoulders
OKAY OKAY OKAY OKAY BUT
regardless of the dynamic, jack always gives sub energy to me. but nico???? in this dynamic???👀
sub nico isn't something i have thought much about but now i am kinda obsessed that the reader has both these boys pining and begging after her🫠just in total control and praising her captain and alternate after they played well and reassuring them after they've lost
i definitely think she would be the person to hold back a little at the start of the relationship because she wouldn't want to make it seem like she is abusing her power. she would be pushing down her own feelings under the guilt of it all until both boys make it clear just how they feel about her, regardless of her position in the team

sorry to ramble more but to elaborate on why i hate will and percy comparison so much is objectively because. percy's kinda lowkey very fucking mean to nico and that's mostly why i hate percico besides the age gap. he strangles him in the underworld. he gets pissed at the little baby child that just arrived at camp and is big,wide-eyed and curious about everything just because he asked if annabeth's his girlfriend. he questions why nico's so estranged from him in hoo, even though he knows how badly he treated him. he knows how betrayed nico felt after bianca's death because of the promise he made (which, i agree, wasn't completely his fault but it seemed that way to nico). i fucking hate it when people compare will to percy. i dont care if will's more bland personality-wise just because riordan didn't find a way to give him a defining personality, but that's in my opinion what makes solangelo work so well. besides the sun-moon dynamic, they literally balance each other out, nico's the more powerful one in the relationship, unlike how he was with percy who he very unhealthily idolised mostly due to his big powers and status at camp. i like will solace having no big powers. i like will solace just being. some guy. i like it all it's so.. equal. it's so complementary. percico is absolutely one of the greatest evils of the world it quite literally erases the whole fucking point of nico's arc and him getting over percy. also it's so clear that percy doesn't like him back so percico doesnt work in any way. sorry this turned into a huge rant i love nico di angelo so much and im too much of a coward to post this off anon but yea
I don't mind rambling that I agree with! Now let me rant on some more too:
I understand where you're coming from. I'll be honest, I don't remember much of the second saga in precise detail, I dropped it around House of Hades because characterization of both Percy and Nico just flew into Tartarus and never recovered. But...
First, blond curly-haired Percy doesn't exist to me and I don't think it's "better" than his book alternative because of the visual implications of that golden-hair kid looks. Book Percy looks like his father - Poseidon, given the epithet "dark-haired" because of the dark of the seas. I'm assuming Percy is somewhat curly-haired given he's compared to a Mediterranean God, etc. He gives off a certain Vibe that is lost when you replace him with a blond haired kid wearing green flannels. That is Will, that is not Percy.
Secondly, aside from a hard visual flop, my annoyance starts off with the whole "you're not my type" joke franchise. I wish people just let it go. Everything that surrounds Nico's first unequal, non-returned, power imbalance, trauma-fueled crush is so fucking sad to me and I'm not sure if it's because I Get Him or because I've witnessed too many sad stories like his. That's the queer tragedy, that's the loss we all in some sort of way relate to. Not only is it yet another thing he can't have because he's too different (and I'm reminding you that Otherness is Nico's entire character theme - he's an immigrant, he's a child of another century, he's a son of Hades, he's gay, etc.), it's also yet another thing for him to grieve, yet another reason to isolate, and yet another broken dream.
Thirdly, I don't like that RR goes back on his own character themes. Percy's an asshole to Nico most of the time and I dislike it a lot. Dark Percy and all of that is valid, for the lack of a better word, but it's LONG BEFORE dark Percy. He's just... irritated with this kid. For being inquisitive and emotional. Alright. I get that Percy is a kid too when they meet but what happened to unconditional love for other people. He's also one of the people who betray Nico again. It's just... Percy is Nico's idea of a hero being shattered, his introduction to the world outside of Mythomagic. And imo it works the best this way.
Lastly, there's a lot to say about TSATS from the literary perspective, it could be done better, but I love Will's characterization there. I like that Will actually remains with Nico in the darkest place you can go to instead of leaving him behind. That he's simple, and down to earth, and just assisting and helping and taking care of him because say what you want Nico needs someone to take care of him. I agree with what you said about the two, I do think they just fit in nicely together. Nico holding the power in a relationship for once is something that I like a lot because I'm still on RR's throat for writing the whole Cupid thing in and I'm tired of Nico's agency being taken away again, and again, and again. Will suits him because he lets Nico breathe and Percy suffocates him in more way than just physical.
So, overall thank you for giving me a reason to rant about this!

Jesper was amused by the conversation between Inej and Y/N. He has learned his poker partner had only a day left to finish her job. Killing Pekka Rollins couldn't be easy, so when she knocked on the door of Inej's old room, he could see just how anxious Y/N was and how desperate her voice rang when she proposed teaming up with his old friend. Their shared feeling of duty may help them cooperate and increase chances of ending the monster's life. However Inej's former enlightment that came from the hitman's good idea now seemed lost as Y/N shared her deadly plan.
Jesper was just happy to be in the same room, he didn't feel included, nor should he. It wasn't like he would join them, but even men living from the adrenaline of risks would doubt this scheme. It included too many holes that would serve trouble to sneek in "I don't know, Y/N." voiced her uncertanty Inej, "I understand you have limited time, but I'd rather be late than dead." Jesper agreed silently by nodding as they watched the girl think with furrowed eyebrows, not realizing she already is one of those choices. Jesper cleared his throat, he really didn't want to speak, but he couldn't allow Y/N to drag his friend to provoke death herself. "It's not exactly... bulletproof, is it?"
The plan goes as this: Y/N would send a message to Rollins, preferably not a dreg messenger, to meet him somewhere yet not disclosed where. First hole: the Dime Lions' leader will not listen to a mysterious note and probably will not come. Y/N reassured them he will, but didn't gave them a reason to believe that. After the target arrives at the place that's, again, still non-existent, he comes to face Y/N and some 'old friend', as the girl said. Second hole: Y/N won't tell them many key details to the plan, they are just supposed to
"Trust me, it will work."
Inej sighed loudly, clearly trying to find trust in this girl within her. "Are you sure he'll come alone?" she pointed out a part of the plan where they will meet Rollins alone. Third hole, for obvious reasons. "He won't have a reason not to. Our only leverage is that he doesn't suspect I know you, he still thinks I'm on my own." the hitman cleared up and ran a hand through her hair. At least she briefly explained to them that she had met Rollins before, that her job was sort of a revenge, but didn't tell them for what, nor they expected her to. Jesper wanted to keep his mouth shut, but it seemed he was the only one that saw another problem with her statement. "Remind me then, Y/N." the person mentioned turned her gaze away from the table covered under the map of Ketterdam and pleaded him to continue, "What did Rollins do exactly when he found out you were on your own? Kidnapped you is what." he didn't give her time to answer, because it wasn't a question. Finding her bloodied and strapped to a chair with Kaz pointing a gun at her was an unpleasant sight, more unpleasant was Y/N's story about how she got there. The image of the night appeared as if on cue in his mind and made him add: "And who was robbing him on the night you escaped?" Y/N's hands pushed themselves off the table before her legs started to slowly pace the room, hopefully thinking about Jesper's words.
"That's true. His guards saw us all escaping, there is no way you are considered to be alone." Inej supported his doubts and made the girl stop in tracks, her back facing them. Candles lit the room brightly and they flickered when Jesper thought about his utter confusion after finding out Kaz and Y/N knew each other since childhood. He assumed Kaz was born a teenager with insanity inside his genes, the thought of him being a demon that crawled out from hell also crossed his mind. No one knew exactly about his past, no one except maybe for Y/N, but since they seem to hate each other now, it's probably for their own good to not posses the knowledge of Kaz as a child. It was silence for a while until Y/N's words cut through it. "Well, he might be stupid enough to come alone," she let out a sigh and Jesper swore he saw goosebumps on her neck as she finished the sentence, "but not naïve enough to think Kaz would help me."
After Rollins arrives, Inej- present in the skies- will make sure he is indeed alone, or she gets rid of any other presence. Y/N aspires for the place of meeting to be dark, so Inej is not seen while working. After doing so, the spider will stand in the dark behind Pekka, waiting for her cue to put a knife on his throat. Jesper assumes there will be some dialogue between Y/N and Rollins before the two kill him, he fancies it as some sort of drama play they often held on Eil Komedie in a theater. He'd definitely took Wylan to see this play with him, but would rather avoid the same scenario in real life. And how they kill him: the hitman will shoot him, somewhere fatal but where he won't die instantly. Then, she will hit him until only a toe is left touching the alive side of border between life and death. Inej will then 'keep her promise'. or simply put, carve his heart out. Brutal, but poetic in Jesper's opinion. He will die a painful death, Y/N gets her money and revenge and Inej finishes a long undone job, everybody wins.
The girl turned to them, she saw the hesitation in their eyes and walked closer. "I know it's dangerous, but if we won't do it, someone else will." Jesper sinked into confusion and let it show on his face freely, Y/N for his sake quickly explained. "Someone, who holds grudges, will come for him. And they might do it in a more stupid and unprepared way. And then we will hate ourselves for not taking the risk." She looked at Inej and finished: "There's not enough Pekkas for everyone's revenge" Inej stared at her as the mastermind opened her mouth with one last question to ask: "Are you in?" Her eyes digged in Inej as they awaited for answer. She looked at Jesper first, as though he would somehow help. The boy just shrugged, what else to do, he is not part of it. She turned to Y/N again and a simple movement of her head made her understand and walk towards the door.
As she opened it, she turned to Inej and said: "Tomorrow night, after 4 bells until midnight, east stave, just behind Smeet Residence. You'll know." and left. Jesper watched Inej dragging her finger along the map and stopping at the possible building Y/N mentioned. She examined it, the boy could almost hear her mind as she thought about the route she'll take, her eyes caressing the paper streets and houses. Smeet residence belongs to Cornelis Smeet, he played cards with him before when they tried to save Inej from Van Eck. The feeling of nostalgia and warmth hit him. Oh, to go back as things were.
"Do you really trust her?"
"Did you trust she won't hurt you when you brought her to Wylan's house?"
He smiled, he really shouldn't have done that. Even when the question was probably rhetorical, he answered with a serious face. "Yes." Y/N seemed like anything but a liar. Sure, she didn't tell them much about her or the plan, but she didn't feed them lies so they would agree. And he did felt safe with her on that night. He didn't know her for long, but a trace of trust began in him. Inej, as if his thoughts written themselves on his eyes, knew what he was thinking about and smiled.
"Then yes, I trust her."
Oh, how he missed Inej.
--------------------------------------------
She cursed herself with every step she took.
Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.
It rang in her head every time her lungs ate the air.
Bad idea. Bad idea. Bad idea.
Yet everything stopped when she was staring at the tall bulding present at the very end of 5th Harbor. After Y/N spat out her trauma on Kaz, she sent a letter to her employer, who unfortunetely happened to be Deln. She never wanted to see him again and after meeting him in the church, she somehow got over the fact that she has to take her payment from him, so encoutering that man twice was unavoidable. Yet she almost puked when she wrote the letter that was begging him to see her. The letter didn't say much, she wanted to tell him about the plan personally, so feelings could be voiced and maybe even manipulate him to cooperate. Y/N also chose to tell him right before the plan starts, so he wouldn't have a choice or time to make up his mind. She has yet to admit Deln is crucial to her plan though, Rollins won't go alone without him present and will run if he won't see him there, a bussiness partner, a person that sold her to him all those years ago,
an old friend.
A chill ran down her back, even though it was quite a warm evening, no wind at the sea either. She looked at the watchtower again. The Council of Tides was supposed to look out for the sea and harbors, but one hardly saw them. As far as Y/N knew, the stadwatch was patroling the harbors. She wondered if anyone is up there, if the council even existed. They could have just built many watchtowers and manipulate a feeling of safety into people. Trust is a powerful tool. At that moment, Y/N felt uncertain that Deln will arrive. She chose to meet with a slaver at the council's feet. Not that they would care about some barrel rats, but he could play a scaredy cat.
The sound of heavy boots on the cobblestone, that decorated almost the whole Ketterdam, and the feeling of the world closing in on her while a heavy stone crashed her chest, the feeling she only gets around one person, were the signs Deln wasn't afraid. Y/N listened to him creeping closer, the old urge to run fighting with her, before she finally turned around and faced him again after 11 days.
"Snowflake" he exclaimed happily, the word shooting Y/N in her throat, drying it up. She hated how afraid he made her feel. It's been years, she was supposed to move on. Hopefully, she will after this is over. Maybe the afterlife exists and will forgive her for her sins after all. That gave her hope and courage to form a fake smile for the show. "Deln." she greeted him with a nod. The man stopped before her and put his hands on his hips, shaking his head with a smile. He seemed very pleased to see her, what a disturbing thing to notice. "Oh, it has been far too long."
As much as she needed to play nice, Y/N didn't resist rolling her eyes at that. "Could we not?" she tried to not let the harsh tone into her voice, but expected failuire. Deln just chuckled upon her response, but his smile disappeared shortly after, the friendly tone nowhere to be found when he asked: "What do you want? Job's done?" Y/N quietly sighed in relief he was finally himself before answering. "Almost. I came here to offer you a first row view at the murder of Pekka Rollins. The price? I get to use you as a distraction." the hitman smiled and tried to sell it to him as traders on the streets taught her. As much as he loved a good advertisement, Deln shook his head and scoffed.
"Still too proud to ask me for help?"
If I was proud, you'd drown in your blood 10 days ago.
"You will just stand around, doing nothing, watching your enemy to die." she said instead, "I'd even say I'm helping you."
Deln smiled and turned around to walk in circles, he always did that when thinking. The waves crashed as the sun almost fell asleep behind horizont, first and only stars slowly lit their light in the deep blue sky. Y/N wished Ketterdam was clearer, so the stars could shine brightly as they deserved. The slavery she lived in had always a hole in the roof in the back. When she couldn't sleep, she used to look at the night heavens above, naming the few little planets present. There were always only five she could see. First was named Fala, it was the smallest star out of all of them, easy to remember. Second got the name Nerezza, that happened to be the first star that appeared and the last to go away. For the third star Y/N came up with Lilith, named after a child that died by the cruel hand of Deln, she was the brightest. She didn't named the last one for a long time, it wasn't special, just lonely and always the farthest away from the rest. Yet after Rollins took her and then she returned to the place she hoped to never see again, the fifth star shined brighter than ever, still alone, but the four seemed to bow to it. Just then, full of anger and spite, she named them all.
"Oh, Y/N." his voice woke her up and the girl saw him stop. His back faced her and she could fully see the hump in it, his spine visible in the plain shirt he wore. Deln suddenly turned around, his brows furrowed, eyes darted in her, deep in thought. He realized.
"I'm already a part of this, huh?"
Y/N thought of the messanger that patiently waited for the 7th bell to ring through the city. "Rollins will expect you, he is only coming because of you," she inhaled the salt wind from the sea,
"he will die tonight because of you."
Deln's eyes showed he finally got the full importance of his part. Y/N knew she wouldn't have to bother with retelling her plan, she just needed to let him know Rollins will be alone and in the streets. And all of that depends on him, he cannot back out if he wants Pekka dead, because he is already involved.
"Everything fails without me."
He made himself sound important, which he was, but Y/N still cringed. He won't even move a finger and still praised himself for helping. She put it past her though, the 7th bell rang. The message is on it's way. "In a few minutes," the hitman started to walk slowly to Deln, "Pekka Rollins will get a message from you, saying you want to discuss your affairs. You told him to come alone, a conversation between 4 eyes. You also mentioned me being there, as a ransom in your favor." She wanted to continue, but the man stopped her. "Hold on, why do you think Rollins wants to do anything with you?" Y/N stopped as he interrupted and swalllowed when she was reminded of the night they kindapped her.
"If you wouldn't have left me, there wouldn't be a point of kidnapping."
"There is nothing sweeter than a family reunion."
"He hates leaving traces behind." Deln's eyes were pinned on her, but he was thinking behind them. There was no turning back. The messanger had to be close to Rollins now. If he won't be there, Y/N won't kill him and Rollins will probably come after the slaver. Not that she cared about Deln's life, Rollins killing him before she kills Rollins was her insane fantasy no amount of stolen luck could grant her. Not even the freedom papers could pride themselves as the main reason. Kaz was why she needs to finish this job. Only he deserved the revenge and she had to be the one to gift it to him. She was obssesed with the possibility of his forgiveness if she does this. It would lift up the heaviest stone on her consciousness before her deserved death.
The girl watched him as his face lit up. "How will he know it's me. There is no proof that I have sent the letter." Yet his face slowly darkened in confusion again when he saw Y/N furrow her eyebrows and smile a little.
"Because you've signed it, Deln."
He opened his mouth to protest, but nothing came out as everything connected. "The release papers." he sighed, still in awe. Y/N sighed in relief, she loved the feeling of the dominos falling perefectly on time. "You couldn't have remembered my signature. You couldn't have." it was more of a wish than a fact, he tried to convince himself there was a backdoor to this all, Y/N sealed them all though. She actually only focused on his signature, the distant feeling of an official freedom made her remember every single curve of his handwriting. When Rollins' guards were hitting her, the pain flashed it in her mind, keeping her going. Deln found her eyes and for the first time she saw fear in them. Not disgust or mockery, nor peace and happiness.
Fear. Of her.
"You little bitch." he whispered. He couldn't run, he couldn't deny anything. He was cornered. Messanger already delivered Deln's worst fear. Y/N knew he didn't want to be involved with Rollins' murder, that's why she was hired after all. His slave empire would fall if he would be accused of murdering the king of the Barrel, but if she was supposed to kill her past, she was going to kill everything.
A bell rang through the city. Quarter past seven.
Y/N looked up at the sky, a star right above her has shined her way through the mist. She recognized it immediately. "We have to go, can't leave him waiting." she stood before Deln, not moving until he does. He laughed silently, hiding behind his easy-going personality, fearing to accept his faith. After taking in a deep breath, he nodded to the side: "Lead the way."
Before they disappeared into the centre of the city, Y/N looked at her fifth star for the last time. In an hour, Rollins might be dead, Deln will take the blame and Y/N might get her peace in hell. The realization pained her, but she also saw the warm embrace of closure behind it.
A name of the star ran through her head. Little Y/N's whispered it into her ear as the wind picked up.
Karma. Coming for them all.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Kaz coughed when the water reached his nose, filling it up so he couldn't breathe, even though air was all around him and the hallways of the Emerald Palace were dry. Everytime they rounded a corner, one of the two Dime Lions that dragged him along moved his hand across his biceps, causing the waters wetting new parts of his body.
People say Kaz always has a plan and a backup plan for everything, and they are right. However, that was before Y/N appeared and claimed the spot in his heart and mind that he thought was either abandoned or dead. When the frustration he had on himself fizzled out, his cane was already carrying him to the steps of Pekka's place, knitting a quick plan on the way. Kaz thought the deed was done, when he ordered Rollins to say his brother's name and made him believe he buried his son, but apparently it wasn't enough. It will never be, Jakob Hertzoon had hurt many people, not just them. There could be other fools with dead siblings or parents, begging for revenge every night. Stupid kids, as he was once. He couldn't help them, but Dirtyhands will feel enough joy for all of them once the only thing functioning will be Rollins' heart.
That is for Y/N to take.
As he was slowly getting closer to Pekka's office, he didn't doubt the guards will be the easiest part. An old flame in him was ignited and it won't be put down 'till the blood paints every wall of this place. The guards stopped and tightened their grip as one of them opened a door to the office. Kaz thought of just throwing up on them, but kept it in until they pushed him on the floor and released their touch. He coughed again and the water disappeared once he took in the hard wooden floor. His ears picked up voices and the sight of his cane being handed to Rollins, then the men left and he was left alone with the lion.
Kaz pushed his face off the ground into a seated position. His cane hit the floor once before Rollins started talking: "Let's not waste our time Brekker. What do you want?" His accent rolling down his tongue as Kaz tried to stand up. The office looked smaller than his, but it gained one advantage on him once he saw the part of the room that served Y/N as backround when she said his name for the first time in a long time. Her voice still echoed somewhere in his mind and he could never find it and catch it. He never wanted to see her again, in all honesty he just wanted to put her in Hellgate, so she would never be anywhere without his knowledge again, but the R on his shoulder urged him to do this, to get their revenge and to see her at peace.
He cursed that R everyday.
When he was on the way up from his knees, a crow head digged into his shoulder, making him to look at the disgusting face the other person wore. His eyes yelled an answer into Pekka's and he frowned in annoyance once he understood. "Why do you all suddenly hunger for blood, eh? You had to plan this with her, ain't a chance you didn't." he complained while releasing a tension in Kaz's shoulder, letting him to stand up. The boy hated the mention of Y/N, even though he didn't say the girl's name, the knowledge about her could be heard. It only pour gasoline in the fire his eyes flashed. But Kaz wouldn't let him see, Rollins still had no idea Y/N visited the bastard and that they already caught up on the lost time. There was chance he knew, yet he would deny it even if she confessed into Rollins' face.
"Who are you talking about." It wasn't a question, he challenged him to talk about Y/N. However Kaz's fears became true when the man laughed exaggeratedly. "Oh come on! I know you broke her out of my house boy, don't pretend to be dumber than you are." Rollins sat down the cane by his table and reached a hand out for a bottle of whiskey. The sound of liquid knocking on the glass was followed by Pekka's hand that flipped the cup's contents inside his mouth. He'd let him have his last drink, after Dirtyhands is through with him, he'll probably throw it back out. Fingers tapped on the wooden table, disturbing the silence Kaz couldn't handle. "So, why are you doing it. For her?" The last sentence was mocking and rhetorical, quite ironic that it's the only right reason. Kaz limped slowly closer to his table, if he could get to the right spot, he should be able to pick his cane up.
With the 7th bell ringing in the distance, Rollins swallowed his second drink before he started to speak again: "She's not worth it son." Kaz noticed his eyes wandered into afar, making it a good oppurturnity to knock him out. Only if the sudden pain in his stomach caused by the petname disappeared. "You don't even know her, the things she's done." Wrong, thought immediately Kaz. She told him her entire life, leaving out only her birth maybe. But he tied his tongue and imprisoned it behind his teeth due to the concatration he fixed on his only weapon. Rollins didn't mind, he continued gladly to think about the old days.
Kaz's heartbeat fastened everytime he mentioned her, that Nina could be able to pick it up. This moment was one of the many recent, when he desired to go reverse time. Hell, delete it if needed, he just wished to be the 17 year old boy again, planning heists with his Crows, rolling his eyes at the overly-sweet endless pining between Jesper and Wylan, hearing Matthias call him numerous demonic and cursed names, entertaining himself by watching Nina and Inej silent-laugh at something stupid when he was bored. He's glad everyone is safe and that they persued their life callings, but some changes are hard to swallow and this one was still hot to eat. This crave of his heart made itself known before, last time when he saw Y/N in this very office, but now it altered a little, bringing him shame and joy at the same time.
Kaz could see a new person in the picture, laughing along side with the girls, learning Fjerdan solely for the purpose of mocking him, teasing Jesper and Wylan for being so corny. The person didn't fit the timeline, but that was besides the point. He could see her with him, by his side. It squeezed his heart and he didn't know if it's a hug or an attempt to crush it.
The door creaking turned his head around, stopping his hand just mere inches before his cane. A messanger. Rollins walked past Kaz and without a word, the newly present man handed him a letter and left. As the door shut, Kaz's hand made contact with the cane. Rollins' low and weak laugh called to his attention and once his eyes settled on him, the man brought his own pair up. The smile should've already warn him, but his ears waited to hear the conformation. Pekka lifted the letter to Kaz's eye level, as if he would see the small letters from their distance. Yet he knew what it was for sure once the receiver said:
"Speaking of the devil."
Moments after, the man whistled and within a second his guards busted the room, handling Kaz again. The boy tried to fight the hands off, he leaned back and then forth quickly, swinging his cane right after they let go a little, striking one in the stomache. The other got hit in the neck, but before he could finish either of them, a back- up came to aid, trapping him with their arms. He threw himself to sides, trying to loosen up their grip, however it seemed to seal him closer every move. Rollins' hearted laughter played to this scene and his voice continued with the same attitude after Kaz gave up. "Should've brought a gun on me son!" he laughed as he delivered his advice.
He could bring a gun, he could bring his whole crew, but the urge to kill him with his bare hands and stained his clothes with Hertzoon's blood was a virus that have spread all over him, controlling his doings and feelings. If holy water isn't enough to kill the devil, gun would be useless against Pekka Rollins.
The man wiped off tears from laughter and looked at the helpless boy. His hand stretched out to him with the letter between his fingers, his feet erasing the rest of the space. Kaz tried to avoid reading the letter, knowing it won't bring nothing else but additional pain. He often wondered how much of it can still fit in his heart. Of course when his view was filled with Y/N's handwriting and he had no other sight to see, he studied every line. Her signature writing didn't change much, it was still horrible. For a slave, it was a miracle to write at all though. He remembered having trouble to read the love note she'd written him, Jordie wasn't as helpful as he thought he would be, but Kaz lost the need to understand it. He could always find the little heart on every single one of those, that was plenty for him.
This note lacked hearts though, it also was readable and no love was expressed. It was signed by the slavor, Deln she named him. When the letter mentioned Y/N his heart fell. This was the plan to kill him.
"I mean," Pekka began to move his mouth again as he freed Kaz's eyes of the paper, "I'm told to go alone. But I won't mind the company."
He damned his pride for not bringing the gun after all.
