Netflix canceling Shadow and Bone season 3 and not doing a Six of Crows spin-off has got to be one of their dumbest decisions in the past 4 years. It is one of their most popular tv shows and was ranked 1st for weeks after season 1 and 2 dropped around the world. At this point, Netflix is just asking to lose everything because they have continuously canceled the most popular TV shows and try to replace them with really shitty ones.

But, I am so grateful to Leigh Bardugo, all the directors, producers, writers, costume designers, set crew, and literally every single person involved for bringing it all to life and putting their entire beings into making it as perfect as it is.

And of course I will always forever love every single actor for making all my favorite characters walk right off the pages and bring tears to my eyes.

Show!Wylan really thought he was so inadequate that the guy he had a one night stand with and clearly liked not only didn't remember him:

But proceeded to shit talk him in front of him:

Which given the context of his backstory in the book that is starting to be revealed in the show [if you don't want spoilers, don't read this] that Wylan's rich merchant father kicked him out for not being able to read and constantly belittled him the entirety of his life, making him constantly feel inadequate, which is why he was so ashamed to tell Jesper he couldn't read- and so it's heartbreaking when you put this opening to their relationship in this context, when Jesper (unknowingly) was reaffirming what Wylan has been told his whole life

And then the cinematic poetry that was making the contrast scene in the same location:

This scene is him telling Wylan 'In the beginning, I probably would have left you like I leave all the others, but after getting to know you, I've found you are worth staying for', he is telling Wylan, who was always told himself as he is isn't good enough, that Jesper loves him more after getting to know more about him.

I think season 3 will explore this concept more. The whole point is that Wylan has these things that he thinks he is unlovable for, but then as Jesper and the crows knows him more, they find out about these 'unlovable parts' and they still love him, showing Wylan true love that he hasn't really experienced before, so like, as much as I love slowburn wesper, I don't think speed running their relationship ruins it, I think it still leaves room for and provides necessary and relevant character arcs and character growth in really interesting ways that still tie to the book in tons of ways that matter

I’ll never forgive Leigh Bardugo for not allowing David to meet Wylan and Jesper.

He would love their neurodivergent household energy. He would adore talking shop with Wylan. He would spot Jesper immediately and not know that he shouldn’t say anything, and offer to train him instantly. He and Jesper would work surprisingly well together. The Fabrikator who never wanted to fight and the one who only wanted that.

I don't know how many of you lovely people know what's happening, but the by-and-by is that Netflix has officially canceled Shadow and Bone, and any potential spin-offs. I don't like this. No one likes this. And so, I ask, if you have a moment or are even slightly interested, maybe go sign this petition?

This show meant a lot to me and to thousands of other fans, and I want to try to do everything I can to save, so pretty please!!

It was like he knew my body more than I did. Every step I took back from him, he took two more forward. Every second I stared at him, he spent hundreds more looking at me. Even now, with my back against the wall, his arm pulled me flush against his chest, and all I wanted - all I desired was to fall into him.

"Look at me," He said, his voice barely above a whisper as our foreheads were pressed together and our lips inches apart.

"Look at me, please," His voice pleaded. How did it come to this? How could I, a lowly Grisha, have managed to get the Prince Nikolai Lantsov, to be begging just for me to look at him?

My eyes slowly opened, meeting his intense and needy gaze. I could tell that he wanted to do was kiss me, to taste the cherries on my lips, but he restrained himself.

"We cannot be doing this," I let out, "you are engaged to Alina."

"I burn for you," He breathed out, his eyes burning into my own all of the emotions he held in for me.

"I spend every moment of every day wondering if you think of me. I search any room I enter in hopes of seeing a glimpse of your smile. You bring me to my knees at the very thought of you," He expressed.

"I would spend everyday running from my duties if it meant getting to kiss you one more time. So please, let me kiss you."

It's me absolutely sobbing over each of the actors' little tribute posts to Shadow and Bone. It is absolutely breaking my heart. Leigh Bardugo's post shattered me because I didn't even think there was the possibility of Season 3 not being greenlit. I knew the writers prepared for cancelation and wrote parts of the spin-off, but I truly thought it would happen. Even with Netflix going on their rampage of axing shows.

There are so many scenes that I wish we could see be brought to life. We didn't even get to see Matthias meet the Crows for God's sake, nor see Alina and Mal end up together. Which is something I don't actually love in the books, but they made Mal such a better character in the show, and Archie is just so wonderful. We didn't get to see Kaz reintroducing Inej with her parents.

But, they also created so many amazing scenes like Ivan and Fedyor being together! Wylan and Jesper meeting, and basically all of their scenes were amazing. Kaz calling Inej his investment. Nina and her waffles and being totally badass with Matthias. Inej meeting Alina and all of Inej's gorgeous knives. And seeing Leigh Bardugo hug Alina.

I really hope this comes back to bite Netflix in the ass.

someone's probably talked about this before but in the sab tv show, inej woke tolya first because she has no other choice.

if inej woke kaz first, he wouldn't be able to help wake the others because of his fear of touching skin. if inej woke jesper first, he wouldn't be able to act serious and would be simping for wylan. inej needed to be the one who woke kaz, as she would be the only person he'd forgive for touching him. so inej had to wake tolya first, so he could wake jesper and inej could wake kaz.

My unhinged review of the S2 trailler of Shadow and Bone

You are welcome.

So basically they all look way too good, and I'm itching to know how they can possibly make the lovesick darkling look bad (and if we are going to get the connection/tether scenes in the tv show 🥵)

Oh, and if we get Zoya and Nikolai interaction... I might scream into oblivion
