Landslide // part two (J.T.K.)
Tumblr media
Summary: You’ve loved him for as long as you can remember, does he feel the same?
Pairings: Jake Kiszka x F!Reader
Warnings: angst, established friendship, heavy alcohol consumption, mentions of alcohol consumption, feelings of heartbreak, sadness, yelling, arguing, feelings of unrequited love, very brief feelings of abandonment, asshole jake in the beginning. If I missed any lmk!! (Vaguely proof read, excuse any mistakes)
A/N: SORRY FOR MAKING YOU WAIT SO LONG!!! Due to tumblrs weird limit I have to split up the 2nd part in two so there will be a 3rd part that will be up by the time this one is. I truly have no excuse for the delay other than I wanted this to meet everybody’s expectations and I didn’t know how to properly execute all my ideas for the second part of this little mini series. I thank you all for such kindness and patience regarding landslides part two. Alas, here it is!!
Also: it starts off with more of jakes perspective on the blow out and then will slowly transition into the present time. Hope you guys enjoy!
Part 1
“..I started seeing someone from our crew…i really like her y/n”
Jake saw the hope leave your eyes the minute he said it. The sparkle he desperately loved now incredibly dimmed and your hands no longer holding his own, suddenly his confidence on the matter seemed to waver.
Jake always brushed off Josh's advances on getting him to make a move on you, dismissing it as his twins way of meddling and trying to stir the pot. How is he meant to explain the way your lips no longer smiled with your eyes?
Any other person wouldn’t have noticed the sudden hitch of breath for it was so discreet, but of course Jake did. He’s studied your person as if he wanted to become fluent in the language of you, so to say. He’s spent so much time with you over the years all of your habits had become second nature to him. Except there was one thing about you he could never read and you made sure of it.
He still knew you all too well and even if it was for a millisecond he noticed the missed beat in your response, he saw the barely-there glossiness coating his favorite irises and quickly blinked away despite the wide smile still on your face.
The average person would easily be fooled but your entire energy shift was almost spelled out in bold letters in front of him. Jake had started to question if he really was making the right decision.
Since about the 7th grade you had Jake completely enamored, unbeknownst to you. At first it was nothing more than a prepubescent school crush, no more than quiet stolen glances and bad attempts at flirting that had gone unnoticed. When highschool came around he realized girls found him attractive, and like any other teenage boy would do, Jake milked it. He stopped being hyper-focused on you and channeled that energy elsewhere.
You were so adamant on making sure he never got any idea of you seeing him in any romantic light, he genuinely believed it would never happen and realized maybe it was stupid pre-teen boy hormones convincing him he felt more for you than what he did and eventually forgot about his feelings for you all in all.
By the end of junior year your family took a vacation for the summer. You came back for senior year with a different aura to you, you had bloomed beautifully so to say. In simple terms, puberty hit you like a truck. The new effect you had on him scared Jake, he decided it was then easier to have you solely as his friend than trying to decode the rush of dopamine he gets just looking at you. Much like yourself, he denied any and all attraction.
Now as you sat across from him inconspicuously heartbroken, his entire perception shifted. He thought he was crazy when you clutched onto the lapel of his coat so desperately when he held you. His mind went hazy in the moment, almost drunk off the close proximity. He hadn’t thought about you in that light in years. Squashed any attraction into the abyss of his soul never to be thought of again.
Seeing you after the extensive tour, reignited the spark. You threw him off his game, he was so certain he had gotten over you and that Laura was the correct path for him but the way you looked into his eyes made him want to drop everything for you right there.
He continued the conversation nonetheless before the overthinking consumed him whole, he was certain he wasn’t thinking clearly. He relentlessly repeated to himself that you had solely seen him as a friend, there was just no way you were upset he was seeing someone. You were thirsty and dust flew in your eye or something, he made any and all excuses.
Once the conversation had come to a wrap and you hurried your way back inside to process the news. Jake too was in a frenzy, he was so sure of himself and his decision just about an hour ago.
Laura was in theory the perfect match, or so he thought. At first it was a casual hookup while he was on the road and as time went on he had grown to truly like her, he didn’t love her so to say but she definitely made him feel something he hadn’t felt in a long time and he romanticized her.
He hadn’t so much as thought about another because as much as he wouldn’t like to admit it, the thought of you had made a home within his head. Now that Jake was feeling something other than suppressed feelings for you, he wanted to hold on to that and convinced himself that was his fate.
Now that he sees there is even a slight possibility you do see him that way he feels like he’s fucked any and all chances, but do you? His brain couldn’t crack the code and he began to stress himself out.
On his way inside he ran into Josh.
“Hey did you see where y/n went? She ran off on me” Josh’s eyebrows perked up as his brothers words now privy to your hurried entrance from the patio.
“Ran off? Did you scare her off or something?” Josh joked unaware of the tension still rising in Jake’s shoulders.
“Very funny. No, I just finally told her about Laura.” Jake retaliated.
“Laura? What about Laura?” The eldest twin now confused.
“I made it official with her, I wanted to introduce y/n to her. You know.. have my best friend mingle with my girlfriend?” Josh’s eyes blew wide at the realization you were indeed not okay.
“When? This is the first I’m hearing of this. No offense but I thought it was casual for you guys..” Josh trailed off.
“Well I really like her, Josh. Why are you being so weird about it?” Jake asks, his insecurity on the decision now growing tenfold.
“Not being weird just…sudden is all. Can’t say I’ve seen her” Josh lied as he made his way to see just how much damage was done.
Now his own brother wasn’t even as enthused as he thought he’d be. It's not that Jake seeked validation from others regarding his life decisions but now that the two of the most important people in his life aren’t solidifying it, he’s succumbed to shameful overthinking.
He needed a drink to release some of the tension. Jake reached for the bottle of Jack as his phone buzzed. He poured a glass for himself before picking his phone up.
Message from: Laura
-Omw! See u soon baby.
Jake just shut his phone off and slipped it back in his pocket before taking a generous swig of the amber liquid.
The more he overthought the situation the more he found himself pouring more and more of that Tennessee whiskey into his glass. Eventually his step felt light and his vision incredibly disoriented. He put the bottle away as he realized he’s gotten ahead of himself and the alcohol in fact did not help but drove him to wrack his brain on the matter even more than before.
He saw the short blonde walk in from his peripheral and immediately greeted her.
As he leaned in to kiss her he got a whiff of her insufferably strong perfume, he had gotten so used to smelling yours since you got here that this almost made him nauseous. Even more so now that he’s realized maybe she isn’t what he wants.
“Your lips taste like whiskey sweetheart, drinking without me?” Laura laughed.
“Mmm, maybe a glass or two..pretty little blouse you got on” he slurred wrapping his arm around her waist pulling her in.
“Jake you’ve definitely had more than a glass or two, you’re getting a little excited honey” she giggled
“Just had a few refreshments on an empty stomach is all love..” he replied with his infamous cockney accent.
“I already told you not to do that accent Jakey, it's insufferable” Laura said before laughing it off and stepping away from him to grab a drink.
‘Y/n would have joked back in the same accent with me..' Jake thought to himself.
He quickly rid himself of the thought, why was even he thinking about you? The drunken logic now warping his train of thought, reminding himself that he thought nobody was truly happy for him in the moment.
Surely it was self projection, Jake had a newfound insecurity about his decision and outwardly projected his internalized fears onto both you and Josh. Assuming the reason you guys were so off with him was not because you had feelings for him as he previously thought, but instead it was because you guys were just simply unhappy for him.
Josh wasn’t excited, y/n certainly wasn’t matching his energy. In his mind, it somehow made sense.
Jake's head whipped around as he heard your voice come from the living room. Now was the moment he’s been dreading for the last 20 minutes, best to get it over with now.
“Come on babe, I want you to meet some of my friends” he said grabbing Laura’s hand in his and making his way into the living room as best he could given the liquor was catching up with him all too fast.
“Alright everyone, this is Laura. My beautiful girlfriend.” Jake slurred as he pressed a sloppy kiss to her cheek. Laura smiled wide at everyone and bid her hellos to those closest to her before her eyes landed on you.
She viewed you as competition. Much like Jake's past girlfriends, they saw how much he talked about you and more often than not gave him the ultimatum of them or you. No matter how much he swore you were just a really close friends Laura wasn’t buying it and wanted Jake all to herself.
Jake immediately searched for you. The minute his eyes met your own, a rush of warmth coated his chest. A bright smile flashed on his face as he forgot about his past worries momentarily upon seeing you look at him. He naturally gravitated towards you and motioned for Laura to come greet you to which she happily obliged.
“Y/n, Laura. Laura, y/n.. this lovely lady has been one of my best friends since elementary school” He introduces but Laura already knew this so Jakes formality made her itch with annoyance, she didn’t want to hear any more. She knew to be nice anyway because she saw how important you were to him and if she wanted him to stay with her she needed to get you to like her as well.
Your bright smile made her confidence waver as you rose to wrap her in a quick embrace. She internally grimaced at how kind you actually seemed. Of course Jake respected you, you had such a welcoming energy that Laura was beginning to envy. Even she was warming up.
“Oh my gosh! You’re y/n! I've heard so much about you, I love your dress” as much as Laura wanted to be selfish you really did look beautiful. She wasn’t expecting for you to be as nice as everybody had said.
“Thank you, you’re so kind. It’s a pleasure to meet you” you flashed her a smile as your cheeks warmed at the sentiment.
Laura wasn’t up for any more of the niceties with you. She had hoped there would be some confirmation to her negative preconceived notion about you, ultimately finding none. The only seemingly respectful way to end the conversation was to excuse herself to the bathroom.
Jake gestured a hand toward the couch behind you for the two of you to take a seat.
“Soooo what’d you think?” He says
“Short interaction, but she seems like a great girl Jakey. As long as you’re happy I’m happy.” You respond with a tight lipped smile, eyes avoiding his as you toy with loose strings on your dress.
Jakes head immediately swarmed with every negative thought he could muster. Your lackluster of a response had somehow been a confirmation to his idea of you not being truly happy for him.
“That's it? That's all you’re gonna say?” He asks a bit harsher than he had intended to. Jake immediately saw your brows slightly furrow and your eyes dim, his immediate regret quickly concealed by the whiskey fueling his fight.
“Well I don’t know what you want me to say…a-are you drunk right now?” You stumble over your words now anxious that this was all heating up faster than it should be.
“You could at least act a little more enthused for me. I mean do you even care at all?” Jake knew he was being dramatic, in his warped logic it was better to paint you the villain and play victim than to deal with his internalized feelings for you now resurfacing on top of the immense guilt he was already feeling. Foolishly not thinking of the potentially jeopardized friendship at hand.
“I’m sorry? I don’t know why you’re getting so upset with me. What do you want me to do Jake?”you say lowering your voice, scared others around you might catch wind of whatever this dispute seemed to be.
Jake knew he was being irrational and could no longer come to terms with it, resorting to walking away from it now that he realized he’s causing more damage than good.
“You know what…just forget it, you could at least act like you care.” Jake spat.
He harshly grabbed his drink from the corner table, leaving you behind in complete shock. Jake felt guilty the minute he grabbed his drink and left. He never blows up on you and didn’t know what had compelled him to speak to you like that. Sure you guys are mean to each other as a joke every now and again but this felt all too real.
You made your way to collect your things. Sam had been eavesdropping but could only catch Jake's end of the conversation, for you had made it a point to speak quietly. What he didn’t see was you and your teary-eyed escape. Sam however was just as drunk as Jake if not more and just wanted to be entertained with drama.
“Hey man, what happened?” Sam asks, stopping Jake in his tracks.
“Y/n is pissing me off, that’s what. Where’s Laura?” Jake says, eyes distant as he searches the area for the blonde.
"I can see that asshole, that's why I’m asking what happened.” He quips before continuing.
"You guys haven’t fought since like the 9th grade” Sam remarks.
“I’m not in the mood for your smart ass fucking comments Sam.. really fucking not.” Jake says, shaking his head. He takes a sip of his drink and attempts to walk away before Sam stops him once again.
“Dude just tell me what happened, i wanna know.” Sam prods again.
“I can just tell she’s not happy for me. I was excited to tell her about Laura and she just went all….. dry. Fucking got up and left when i confronted her about it."
“She left?? We just got back, there’s no way she would just leave.” Sam questions.
“Yeah. Well, she did.” Jake says, flashing the youngest kiszka a sarcastic smile.
He scoffs before continuing as he slowly starts to rile himself up again.
“…couldn’t even stick around, how immature.” seemingly forgetting your flee was a product of his harsh attitude.
“Thats fucked. If it helps, I’m happy for you dude… weird that she would just leave. Kinda selfish you don’t think?” Sam responds now just drunkenly wanting to instigate.
Sam's words were music to Jake’s ears, his mood instantly lifting hearing someone telling him what he wanted to hear. It wasn’t that nobody was in Jake's corner, in fact you and Josh both were incredibly happy for him no matter what. It was Jake refusing to come to terms with his emotions and essentially self-sabotaging.
However, hearing Sam call you selfish also made Jake's blood boil. To him you were far from selfish. You were giving and handled everything with the utmost humility. You were not only selfless to those close to you but to those you’ve just met. You danced through your life with grace and generosity and to hear someone undermine that, angered him. Yet, you were supposed to be the one he was upset with. The inner turmoil bubbling to the surface, ten fold.
“I mean, Laura aside… we’re her friends. Regardless of however y/n feels towards her she shouldn’t have just left. We’ve been gone for ages, she’s being petty.” Sam continued.
As much as Sam's words were striking a nerve in Jake as his immediate response normally would have been to defend you, right now he didn’t know how to feel.
Jake gave a quiet hum as he turned up with a lack of an answer on the matter.
The more sam starts to formulate his opinions on the only side of the story he’s gotten, the more it starts to genuinely irk him. His brother aside, he deemed you a best friend no less and felt like it was unfair.
“You know what? I’m gonna text her, she could’ve at least stayed for me or Daniel… heck even Josh!” He said waving his hand frantically, grabbing his phone.
“Boom, sent.” Although he didn’t mean for the message to come out so harsh, Sam was also belligerent and could no longer take anything seriously.
In his mind, this would blow over by tomorrow and you guys would laugh it off like always. Being friends so long, tiffs were bound to happen. Except unbeknownst to Sam, you and Jake have years of pent up turmoil you have yet to diffuse and he is only fueling the fire.
Jake sends a message too, but not in Sam’s drunken immature fashion. He had hurt his own feelings so much, the only convenient place he could point the finger at would be you. Opting to shut you out for the first time in over a decade.
Jake couldn’t decide if it was because he was genuinely mad at you or if it was because this whole situation had made his feelings all too real and he couldn’t bear to face them.
don’t even bother reaching out anymore.
——————————————————————
And that was the last you had heard from Jake in about a week.
You had granted him his wish.
Josh and Danny have called a couple times and everything was normal as far as you were concerned. Neither of the boys had made it awkward, you questioned if they even knew about the messages sent to you by Jake and Sam.
When you got home the night of the welcome party you were faced with immediate regret. You wracked your brain all night on where you went wrong and if you should’ve even left.
Was it the forced smiles?
Was it the choked back congratulations?
Had you not concealed your emotions well enough?
Were you being inconsiderate for leaving after waiting so long to see them?
It wasn’t that you were inherently unhappy for Jake, you genuinely wished the best for him. Internally you question if maybe you had been a bit insensitive but the more you wrack your brain on the matter the more everything starts to just not make sense.
Sam texting you made you all the more anxious. Drunken stupor or not he is a close friend of yours and for him to be mad at you, you must’ve offended him in some way as well. But how?
Your brain has gone a mile a minute since then. Your phone seemed to be in a permanent state of do not disturb. You’ve gone to work like normal, caught up with Ronnie before she went back home and you started to feel like things were semi-okay.
You had gotten so used to seeing a message from Jake everyday for the last almost-decade, it's been weird not hearing from him and you inevitably started to miss him. Although missing him only angered you because you were sure he doesn't miss you the same. You didn’t even want to feel sorry for yourself because how foolish of you to think your hot rockstar best friend is gonna be in love with you too?
Your romantic feelings aside, him being able to shut you out so easy honestly broke your heart even more than hearing he was with someone.
Argument aside, after this long of a friendship how could he cut you off that easily? Were you never that important? You would’ve been okay being his friend and forgetting about your feelings for him once and for all, you just didn’t know how to handle the news there and then and everything blew up in your face so fast.
If Jake didn’t want you to reach out, so be it.
You had come to terms with what Josh had reminded you of, you're 27 now and there was no more reason to sacrifice parts of yourself for the sake of making sure someone else is comfortable in your friendship. He is with someone now and you need to move on, the silent pining has grown old.
You thankfully set up a lunch date with Josh today and were grateful you could find a safe haven within the storm invading your mind. It made it easier knowing he knows just as much, if not more, than you on the situation. You had been deflecting that conversation with him but secretly knew he wasn’t going to stop trying until you told him more.
Josh knows something is up. Jake isn’t yapping about you everyday anymore, you haven't been making any plans with Jake since the tour ended. It’s deeper than Jake just catching an attitude with you. You weren’t one to wallow in your room for days when you were upset but you went into a minor hermit mode since then and it's raised a huge red flag for the older twin.
You sprayed some perfume as the final step in your getting ready process. You looked over your outfit in the mirror once more before grabbing your purse. You were going to your favorite cafe in Nash. It had bottomless mimosas for brunch every other week and with everything going on, you needed some casual day drinking with a friend.
You got situated in your car before heading downtown to meet with Josh. About 15 minutes into your drive, Landslide by Fleetwood Mac came up on your shuffle. You were fairly happy today but upon hearing the lyrics again with a different perspective, everything had easily begun to gloom over.
Oh, mirror in the sky
What is love?
Can the child within my heart rise above?
You fought the urge to turn it off because it was truly one of your favorite songs but everything reminded you of Jake recently and your sanity was slipping through the cracks. You were instantly brought back to your teenage self helplessly in love with your life-long friend.
Well, I’ve been afraid of changin’
‘Cause I’ve built my life around you
But time makes you bolder
Even children get older
And I’m getting older too
You unhesitatingly unplugged your phone from CarPlay. Stevie didn’t get a chance to finish her chorus before the silence in the car had engulfed you.
You fought back tears realizing how real that stupid song made everything. You couldn’t grasp why you were so emotional but you hadn’t realized just how much not talking to Jake had affected you. This change was new for you, life had always been pretty constant especially your friendship with him and you were having a hard time taking things for face value.
You got off the exit heading into town. Finding parking was fairly easy and you picked out a table for two knowing josh was gonna be late.
You took this time to recollect yourself and order a glass.
You waited for about 15 minutes before you saw the curly headed man’s eyes searching the establishment for you. Josh’s wide smile momentarily eased your nerves and you were glad to just spend time with one of your closest friends.
“Only 15 minutes! That’s gotta be a new record” you joked, poking fun at his infamous untimeliness as he found purchase in the seat in front of you.
“What do you mean? I would say I’m early” he feigned a confused expression checking the non-existent watch on his wrist. You couldn’t help but laugh at his nonsense while he waved down the waitress to order himself a glass.
“Bottomless mimosas huh?” Josh continued.
“Yeah, I haven't had a drink since…. well, you know.” you awkwardly laughed to make things light.
"Speaking of which, I didn’t want to ask you about it because i know it's a touchy subj—“
“No. I-i want to. I actually would really appreciate it if we talked about it.” You interrupted. You chose not to elaborate on the fact that the only reason you were in desperate need of talking about it was because you were not as calm about the situation as you had let on.
“Well alright then, lay it on me. Tell me your side, I’ve heard all there is to hear on his side but I refuse to even get into that right now.” He says.
“So he’s still talking about me?” You scoffed before continuing.
“It’s absurd to me that he can be so cold with me yet still bring me up to everyone else. We’re adults. Whatever I did I feel like he should’ve spoken to me about it by now..” you trail off, reaching for your glass.
"I think this may be deeper than the both of you want to accept.” Josh interjects.
“He’s not bringing it up constantly to everybody, but he's my brother so please just trust me on this. It’s deeper for both of you.” He continues.
“What does that even mean? Don’t go all cryptic on me Josh. He’s never spoken to me that way, I don’t know what I could’ve done. Was I really that inconsiderate? I mean if i was, i wanna apologize and talk it out. He’s my friend and I feel terrible that I’ve made it all about me and my feelings.” You rambled chugging the mimosa down.
“Y/n stop, you’re getting in your head again. You handled it well, Jake is just- he's being difficult. Stop blaming yourself, his actions making you feel unwelcome is not something to apologize for.” Josh tried to reason.
“You’re right but I was in the wrong too. I shouldn’t have left. I knew I shouldn’t have. The minute I walked out the door and got to my car I realized I was just overwhelmed with everything. I completely forgot it was a celebration for you guys. I apologized to Ronnie for leaving her in the dust and I wanna do the same for you guys as well, you can refuse all you want but I know in my heart I should have been there for you regardless.” You say trying to hold back the tears. You were almost done with your second glass and the champagne has definitely gotten to your head.
“…and then when him and Sam texted me i just felt awful, so I’m really sorry josh” you continue.
“Wait what?” Josh asks, now with genuine confusion stitched into his eyebrows.
“What?” You ask retreating into yourself, the feeling like you said something you weren’t supposed to had lodged its way in your brain.
“They texted you? What did they say??” He prods.
Jake and Sam hadn’t mentioned a word to Josh about the messages they had sent you. They knew better, they were well aware they were immature for doing so and didn’t want josh’s big brother patronization on top of it all. Jake more so than Sam, Sam didn’t think the argument was that deep and thought you'd take it lightly.
“You didn’t know?” You asked, now matching his bewildered expression.
“Of course not, now I have so many questions. I want you to tell me everything beginning to end. This is absolutely insane to me.” He says waving his hand and sitting back making himself comfortable.
“Okay well, he breaks the news.. I congratulated him and said i was happy for him. I thought i had held myself together pretty well then but I knew i would crack sooner than later so i had to excuse myself. I made a beeline for the bathroom to try and recompose before meeting her and i thought maybe it was the whiskey, you know how he gets on whiskey..” you said making a suggestive eye.
You and the rest of your friends were well aware the amber liquid made Jake easily irritable, to say the least, if consumed in large quantities.
“…but I’ve seen him with one too many whiskey cokes and even then he still would never do that. Anyway, I’m rambling. In short, I greet her, we exchange compliments, everything was fine and then she excuses herself for the bathroom mid-convo and he asks me what I think. I just said she seems like a great girl and I’m happy for him. I mean what the fuck else was I supposed to say? She literally left before I could have a real conversation with her and he just blew up on me saying I wasn’t actually happy for him and I could… and I quote, ‘at least act like I care’” you say with finger air quotes before finishing your glass and starting on your third.
Josh just stares at you for a moment before his jaw drops.
“What the fuck? So where does the text come into play?"
“Right, so once I get to my car and I think about going back inside I get a text from Sam first…saying this” you say before pulling up the messages and showing Josh the screen. His eyes scan over the message for a brief second.
“some friend? He’s one to fucking talk. He was drunk and glued to his friends the entire night, I think he just wanted to instigate. What about jake? I wanna hear what he had to say” you saw josh getting riled up but the reminder of Jake's message brought everything back to reality and the influx of emotions mixed with the alcohol did you no favors.
“…he um, he said not to bother reaching out.” you said voice small, eyes avoiding his own as you shut your phone off not even bothering to open his chat up again.
You saw his energy shift and although Josh is pretty composed and patient around you, you could see that it struck a nerve in him. He knew it was completely ridiculous and Jake was just deflecting and running from his feelings. Josh saw right through everything and the fact that Jake had failed to mention this to him, only angered him more.
“It’s okay.. really. I understand, he was probably excited to share the news and I honestly was acting a bit dry with him. But also what was I supposed to say? ‘hey I’m upset because I’ve been in love with you since senior year of high school but you don’t feel the same way’ like no.. obviously not. It would ruin everything…..I don’t know I'm just conflicted josh.” you say putting your head in your hands for a moment.
The liquor was catching up with you faster than anticipated on an empty stomach.
“Bullshit. Stop making excuses for him, you know its fucked up regardless. He can be upset with you for whatever reason but to completely shut you out like that? No wonder you guys haven’t hashed it out yet. I knew this was running on too long.” He says, rolling his eyes and crossing his arms.
You just shrugged before taking another sip of your drink.
“Listen, once he's ready he can reach out. But i'm gonna start putting myself first, if he doesn’t wanna talk? Fine by me.” You shrug.
“Let's ditch that topic for now. It's just starting to piss me off more, how is everything for you though?” You ask.
“It’s alright, we’re just getting prepped for some festivals that we have coming up but i'm excited for this down time. Been a while since I could come have lunch dates with my best friend.” Josh said, playfully winking.
“I knowww, i'm so excited you’re back. Jake and i had been talking about—“ you cut yourself off realizing the plans you and Jake had made may now never follow through. You guys had talked endlessly about catching up on all the missed plans and hangouts with everybody but the thought of it only saddened you.
“.. nevermind” you laughed, taking a sip of your glass in an attempt to ease the tension.
Josh gave you a sympathetic smile before changing the subject and continuing conversation as normal.
—————————————————————
Before you realized it, three hours had passed and it was already the late afternoon. You were seven mimosas deep and there was no shot at you driving yourself home.
“Josh? I think im a little drunk” you giggled leaning your head on your hands.
“Can I Venmo you for brunch?” You question.
“You think? That thousand yard stare is a dead give away. Don’t worry about it, i got it mama”
“Awww you're paying for me? That is just so nice” you tease pressing a hand to your chest. Josh laughs at your drunken candor.
“Shut up and give me your keys, I'm driving you home after I pay this bill. Finish the glass you have now and we’re going” he laughs trying not to entertain your drunken behavior.
“Hey… i'll shut up when i want to” you mumbled to yourself before handing your keys to him.
“You only had half a mimosa you weirdo” you joke as you both gather your things, some more efficiently than others.
“I saw how fast you were going through those, someone had to be sober to drive you home. You’re a lightweight.” He said with a pointed look.
"…touché’’ you say, squinting your eyes at him playfully.
Josh opens his car door for you and you try and climb up in his Jeep as gracefully as you could. The minute he shuts the door you realize you're a lot drunker than what you thought you were. You don’t drink often and certainly not to cope with heavy emotions but it honestly felt quite nice to feel the weight lift off your shoulders momentarily.
Josh hops in and starts his car up, your head was spinning and you couldn’t help but giggle to yourself.
“What's so funny?”
“Nothing, I just think it's silly I let myself get so drunk from mimosas..my head is literally spinning” which somehow made you laugh harder.
A genuine cackle had bubbled out of your chest as happy tears pooled at the corner of your eyes and Josh was happy to hear it.
You’d been blue since the fallout and even if it was just a case of the drunken giggles, seeing your happiness shine during the golden hour of the day only made his heart warm.
“Okay i just laughed so hard it made my head hurt…” you said calming down and rubbing at your temples.
“Whewww sorry, that gave me a good giggle” you said laughing again. You have a bad habit of rambling and it's only worse when you're drunk. You can talk about any and everything under the sun and Josh was mentally preparing himself for the word vomit, to which it never came. Instead he was hit with a sudden mood swing.
“You know… this is really stupid” you say, leaning your head back and closing your eyes.
“I shouldn’t miss him so much josh..” you open your eyes as it only made the spins worse and looked down fumbling with your hands.
Josh stayed quiet allowing you to get everything out, the minute you weren’t spewing nonsense at him gave him a clue that this was hurting you more than you let on.
You don’t know where it had all come from but everything was suddenly incredibly sentimental and you were fighting back the urge to cry. You knew it was just the champagne talking, but was it? Or did it just make you feel what you’ve been suppressing all week?
You sniffled which immediately alerted josh.
“You were just laughing.. what happened?” Josh laughed at your sudden mood switch. You couldn’t help but laugh too at the randomness.
“Ugh I don’t know man” you cry-laughed wiping the tears
“… do you wanna talk about it?” He said trying not to pry but still wanted to let you know he was here to listen.
“not really, i haven't fully processed it and I don’t wanna talk about it until all my ducks are in a row” you chuckled before dozing off for the remainder of the drive.
“You’ve kept your feelings a secret for a long time little one, just making sure youre okay.”
”I'm feeling…exquisite” you slurred.
Josh just gave a slight hum before chuckling and turning down the radio a bit to let you get shut eye.
———————————————————————
You stirred awake as Josh lightly shook you.
“We’re at your house, wake up” he said.
You gathered your purse and shoes before hopping out of his truck and stumbling your way inside. Your keys were nowhere to be found in your bag and you frustratingly turned around at the eldest kiszka.
“Where are my keys? I want these jeans off of me already” you said tucking the hair that fell in your face behind your ear.
“Hold your horses little one, I have them because someone’s belligerent.” Josh said, raising his eyebrows at you.
“I’m too drunk to drive, not enough to where I can’t unlock my own door” you said matter-of-factly.
“Yea yea, whatever here you go” he said, dangling the keys in front of you.
“What am i gonna do about my car” you whined as you barely made it past your home's threshold. You plopped down on your couch face down, all the movement was starting to make you nauseous.
“Woah..i feel like i'm getting drunker by the minute, i thought i'd sober up by now” you said sitting up from your position and rubbing at your temples.
“Here, i got you some water. I'll take you tomorrow morning to pick it up.. sound good?” You nodded as Josh handed you the bottle. You uncapped the lid and took a few sips. You hadn’t eaten or drank anything all day except for one piece of complimentary bread and seven and a half mimosas…
Josh was surprised you were still able to stand yourself up given how much of a lightweight you are. You had gotten so wrapped up in conversation with him you completely forgot to order food.
“I'll be right back” you hear him disappear into the kitchen as you sink back into your couch.
Your head was spinning. It was almost humorous. Like the thought of Jake had been swarming your thoughts and now ironically manifested in a physical sense.
You missed him even though your pride didn’t want to let you admit it. It wasn’t even about him being with Laura anymore. You were content and happy with him as a friend. Time heals all wounds and you were bound to get over the silly heartbreak but having none of Jake at all was almost tortuous.
Your head shot up as you heard a ping sound from your phone.
“Is it jake?” You perked up.
Josh’s eyes saddened at the thought of you expecting a message from him. You both know how stubborn Jake can get and the fact you still have hope just made him more upset with his brother. He picked up the phone checking the screen realizing it was just one of your friends from work.
“No, sorry…. just Liz.” he said sympathetically, handing you your phone.
“Oh.. okay” you said, trying your best to not make it seem like you were disappointed.
"I’m gonna go change and try to make some food, you're welcome to stay Joshy. Help yourself” you said gesturing to the kitchen as you made your way to your bedroom.
“I already made you a sandwich. It’s in the kitchen on a plate for you. I told some friends I’d join them. Are you gonna be okay?” He says as you turn around to face him.
“Ugh traitor, I’ll be fine i guesss. Thanks for the food” you joked as you gave him a hug goodbye. You heard a chuckle bubble from his chest.
“I'll call you in the morning, answer and be ready” josh says, pointing a stern finger at you as he makes his way to your front door.
“I will! Love you long time” you gave him a tight lipped smile as he opened the door to make his way out.
“Love you!” You heard him shout before the sound of the door shutting had echoed through your home.
You stumbled back towards your bedroom and popped a couple Advils before making your way to your closet to change into comfier clothes. You didn’t bother taking off your makeup just yet and decided to leave your hair down, you didn’t have the energy to bother with it.
Your stomach rumbling only grew stronger as you were mentally occupied with the absence of your life-long friend. You knew you should go and eat but you had busied yourself with the incessant thoughts of that one night.
Deciding you needed a momentary distraction from the thoughts that had occupied your brain all week, your stomach growls at you from the thought of Josh’s sandwich.
‘Even if he’s mad at me I should still apologize, be the bigger person' you think to yourself as you turn the corner to your kitchen.
Sober you knows better and is too stubborn to cave in first, but drunk you is only occupied with the chest-burning thought of how much you love him and wanting this to be resolved as quickly as possible.
You look at the plate and see Josh made the sandwich Jake usually makes you. Your eyes tear up and your throat burns at the thought.
On one hand it was so sweet of Josh to bring you some comfort given the sudden change but it was also not the same because it wasn’t coming from who you selfishly wanted it to. You take a bite as the tears fall silently.
No expression on your face, just a dead stare as you eat and the tears quietly slip from your ducts.
You hadn’t allowed yourself to truly feel all week. You had occupied yourself with mundane tasks at home and work was a big help with distracting yourself.
Anything to not be focused on where things went wrong.
Now that you had gotten ahead of yourself with the mimosas, everything you had bottled up was starting to spill over the edge and your composure slowly slipping through the cracks.
You poured yourself a final drink for the night, opting for a sweet red wine to take the edge off. There was only a little more than a glass left in your wine bottle, no better time than today to finish it rather than right before you have to start going back to work. You had the entire weekend to recover from the inevitable hangover bound to plague you in the morning.
You made your way into the living room and over to your record player. You sifted through your shelf of vinyls before settling on CSN&Y’s ‘So Far’. You let it play for a little as you burned an incense and nursed your final glass of your favorite wine.
You hear the familiar chords of Helplessly Hoping begin to play and coincidentally all the wine had rushed to your blood. You were considerably drunk and this was very unlike you. You decided to not even finish the glass, you felt guilty almost. Like you were unhealthily coping. Your vision became disoriented and everything felt hazy.
Happy wine drunk is one thing but being sad wine drunk did you no favors, especially given the song traveling throughout your home. The only thing finding purchase in your clouded mind was Jake and Jake only.
You mindlessly picked up your phone, opening up your last conversation with him. You longingly stared at his contact picture of the both of you. It was an old photo Karen had sent you of when you guys were about 11 at their annual 4th of July barbecue.
“Come on kids, get in the dang picture!” Karen tried to reason with the 5 of you but you guys were too occupied with the fact that Sam wasn't giving the ball back.
As Karen tried rounding up Josh Sam and Ronnie for the picture, you pulled Jake aside and convinced him to get in the picture for his mom. Karen noticed the two of you ready and decided to snap one of just the two of you.
“Aww how sweet, the two of you together..” she said pointing her camera at the two of you.
“Come on mom just take the picture” Jake whined ready to get back to his game with his brothers.
“Fine fine, i'll get all five of you later… scooch in closer Jacob” She said gesturing with her hand.
“What, like this?” Jake remarks, laughing as he aggressively squishes his face against your own. You laugh at his sarcasm, as does he. Karen snapped the picture of your two wide smiles smooshed together in your red white and blue attire.
You smiled at the memory and without a second thought you clicked the call button as the memory had clouded all logic. All you wanted in the moment was to talk to your best friend again.
You heard it ring once, then twice, then declined.
A sob escaped past your lips as you heard his automated voice message saying he’ll call back, ironic given he probably won’t.
You left a message regardless. Liquid courage or not, at least you did your part.
“Hey Jake, im probably gonna regret this in the morning” you sadly laughed. You let out a big sigh before continuing.
“..but it's been over a week, we’ve never gone that long without talking.. I didn’t think I’d lose you entirely” you paused for a moment as you were getting tongue-tied and your voice was slowly giving up as you fought back tears.
“I know you said to not bother reaching out but you mean so much to me, more than you know a-and I can’t just do that" you slurred as you plopped down on the couch.
“Anyway… take all the time you need. I just wanted to say I'm really sorry for whatever I said.. or did. I'm ready to talk about it whenever you are..” you said trailing off.
“Just call me back i guess…o-or maybe don—“ you were cut off by the teleprompter letting you know the message was too long and you angrily pressed the hang up button before laying down and drifting off on your couch.
The spins were becoming overbearing and you didn’t want to think about how mad you were gonna be at yourself in the morning.
————————————————————
Jake saw your call.
He saw the notification saying you had left a voicemail.
He couldn’t bring himself to pick up or even listen to what you had to say. He feared that if he heard your voice after so long he’d crack.
He was being prideful.
He regretted everything he said for it was completely out of character for him and the whiskey is no excuse. He knew it was a bad idea the minute he finished his first glass. His emotions were heightened and Jake's entire perception of his reality had shifted within 15 minutes. He couldn’t process everything and blew up on you.
"I thought you said you stopped talking to her baby?” Laura questioned as she sat next to him on the bed.
“I did.” Jake sighed.
“So.. why did I just see you decline her call? Why is she even calling you?” She chided.
“Hey, calm down. I genuinely don’t know, I'm just as confused as you are." He replied pulling her into his side.
“I already told you how I feel about her. I don’t think she’s good for you. She’s clearly not happy for us.. for you, jakey” Jake internally winced at your childhood nickname for him coming out of her mouth, he hated when people called him that unless it was you that was referring to him.
“She was being a bitch to me at the party, you saw.” She remarked, lying to make sure she got what she wanted.
“Wait, how? She ended up leaving..” Jake pulled back from her now confused.
“Oh. Well maybe you weren’t there but she just said something about how I wasn’t welcome within the circle” she blurted. Laura couldn’t come up with a good enough lie to paint you as the villain.
“That doesn’t sound like y/n, I mean I’ve seen her strongly dislike people and she still would never exclude anybody. She doesn’t like confrontation..” Jake said now even more perplexed.
“Are you defending her right now?” Laura sat up defensive.
“N-no im just saying it’s not like her to say th—"
“Stop making excuses for her! She clearly isn't happy for you Jake! Her whole kindness thing is some lame act to get people to like her. She’s just some boring plain Jane that wants you to herself. Why can’t you get that through your head?!” She continued.
Laura’s facade now slowly melting away, something sparked in Jake.
He hated when people spoke ill of you, especially when people undermine you no matter if he was upset with you or not.
There was so much more to you than the surface showed.
You weren’t boring, you certainly would never go out of your way to make someone feel unwelcome. You were kind to a fault but still had a crazy fire that burned within you, unlike others you kept your flame contained. You were incredibly emotionally mature and it was silly for Jake to ever think you could be unhappy for him.
“Get out.”
“W-what?” Laura says shocked.
“I don’t want to argue with you on this, no matter what she and I are going through, she's been a close friend of my family since fucking elementary school and I think it's incredibly distasteful that you feel so comfortable bad mouthing her when you barely know her. Doesn’t matter what i feel, she’s still Josh’s friend, Sam’s, Danny’s.. my fucking parents” Jake said counting off on his fingers.
He didn’t know what had overcome him but he realized how big of a mistake he made thinking Laura was the one. How easy it was for her to speak ill of someone that was practically family to his own just showed Laura’s true character.
He stared at her gobsmacked expression for a moment before driving in the last dagger to seal it all.
“Matter of fact, I think this was a mistake.” He finishes getting up from the bed and opening the bedroom door.
“You’re seriously gonna break up with me over some girl? You even said yourself that she doesn’t care and you’re defending her?”
“Oh for fucks sake i was mad and drunk, i was just pissing myself off and pointed the finger at her. It was wrong of me, yes, but also none of your fucking business. I will reap what I sow on my own and I will certainly not have you speak ill of her because of my wrong doings.” Jake says as she stands up and collects her things.
“Fucking pathetic.” She spits pushing past him and fleeing down the stairs.
Jake hears the door slam shut.
What the fuck?
Jake starts to wonder if he dodged a bullet, the way she reacted to you being brought up just seemed so odd. Like the thought of you triggered her and Jake didn’t like that.
He held you close in his heart, as did his family, and he expects people to treat you with the same respect. Then again, how respectful has he been? Hearing Laura speak about you and try to lie about you just made him feel so guilty.
He couldn’t just man up and accept the fact that he loves you, he feels he's ruined everything.
His head perks up remembering you called him. He rushed downstairs to lock his door and immediately came back up to pick up his phone staring at the missed call from ‘Sunshine’.
Jake hesitantly tapped the play button on the voicemail putting it on speaker. Upon hearing your voice his wall broke. You made him weak in the knees. He listened for a little longer realizing you were drunk.
Is she alone?
Is she okay?
Why is she drunk?
He silently cursed himself for even going this long without talking to you. The only reason he was semi-okay in your absence was because josh and Danny would bring you up occasionally so he at least knew you were safe.
Jake was now even more pissed at himself for even letting things get this far between you guys.
‘I know you said to not bother reaching out but you mean so much to me, more than you know..'
Jakes ears started ringing, hearing you say he means something to you made his love for you just buzz even stronger within him.
He fucked up.
Aside from his romantic feelings, you were his best friend and he couldn’t believe he just shut you out.
He could hear the hurt in your voice and regretted everything he said. Even if he was getting in his head that wasn't your responsibility and he shouldn’t have pointed the finger at you just to make himself feel temporarily better.
’…I just wanted to say I'm really sorry for whatever I said.. or did. I'm ready to talk about it whenever you are..'
Jake couldn’t listen any further, the sound of your voice cracking during your apology saddened him. You had nothing to apologize for and he hated that he made you feel like you did. He needed to make things right.
He immediately called back and upon receiving no answer, he panicked. Every bad possibility was running through his head a mile a minute. He didn’t hesitate to throw on a shirt and grab his keys.
Jake had never rushed to your house so fast in his life. It was like a grand awakening for him. He vowed to do right by you and ultimately failed you. Hearing you so upset over his absence completely broke him.
Jake was having a hard time collecting his thoughts over this. Deep down he knew Laura was just a distraction from his feelings for you and instead of accepting the fact that he only had eyes for you, he villainized you.
Somehow having a reason to be angry with you only made it easier to shy away from the head high he gets just being around you. Your scent, the way your expression softens upon his gaze without fail, the way your hair perfectly frames your face, how you smile with your eyes and your nose scrunches when you laugh.
He was foolish to not realize these aren’t just things he notices you do, these are things that made him fall in love with you and he had been so incredibly ignorant to not realize earlier.
He pulled into your driveway and almost forgot to turn off his car from how much of a hurry he was to get to you. Jake wasted no time banging on the door.
You were startled from your slumber from the loud knocking coming from your front door, you stood up too fast and your vision went hazy. You completely forgot about your day drinking and the wine glass that had sent you over the edge until you almost lost your balance.
“Hold on! I'm coming!!” You shouted assuming it was Josh coming back to bother you. The incessant knocking never ceased until you stumbled over and swung the door open.
Your heart dropped to your stomach as you were face to face with the man who had left you in the dark for almost two weeks.
“Are you fucking kidding me?” you said softly, staring as his chest heaved up and down.

JOSH’S POV
Fucking dammit Jake. He's the stupidest person you've ever met. You ask him to do one thing and he can’t even do that right.
You grab your phone to text Jake to make him aware of the night he just ruined.
9:47pm Josh: You can come back now since you just blew that all up into shit.
9:47pm Jake: I forgot, don’t be an ass.
You had been so close to getting what you wanted. Since Freshman year you couldn't stop fantasizing about her, and hearing about what she does with other guys just made it worse. It struck a nerve and made you jealous beyond belief.
Shortly after Jake’s text, you hear the door creak open again.
“Are you fucking braindead Jake, I asked you to do one fucking thing and you can’t even remember to do that!”
“I fucking forgot Josh. It's not my problem you can’t make moves on her anywhere else than a secluded room with just her. Maybe man up and try to talk to her for once like a normal fucking person and not act like you hate her or something.” Jake spat back at you.
You sat there and thought about it. You never really did make the effort to reach out before this show. She was just someone you admired from afar, never thinking of the idea of anything more.
“Because once this musical is over she’s no longer ‘yours’ and I’m not wasting any time to get what I want. You’ll be the one to go over to ‘Scott’s’ house, bud.”
You could kill him. He knows your attraction to her and although you may be considered the more outgoing twin, Jake is persistent and has drive. He’ll do what he needs to to get what he wants.
You get off the couch and furiously walk to your room, slamming the door while you’re at it. You open your phone to see if y/n had texted you, but nothing.
Did she get home safe?
You needed to know, but couldn’t seem too desperate for the answer. If the night would have ended right you could have walked her back.
You consider it for a moment. She’s probably fine, plus why do you care? She probably fucks someone and walks back alone at night all the time. She would definitely text you if something was wrong and she hasn’t texted so…
The night left you unsatisfied, needing more. But you were so angry you didn’t have it in you to finish the job yourself. That didn’t stop you from thinking about everything that had just happened though.
How sexy she looked in those shorts. She knows she gets a rise out of guys everytime she wears them, fucking slut.
And the nerve to show up with no bra, teasing you knowing that she would get something out of the night. But you didn’t mind, she looked so fucking hot without anything on top. God, you wished everything was off.
With the feeling of her grinding back and forth on your dick, you wanted to show her how good you could make her feel. Make her cum so hard, like no “one night stand” could ever do.
That night you fell asleep thinking about her, dreaming about what could have happened. And you'd be damned if you don’t finish the job soon.
y/n’s POV
“Fuck Josh, yes just like that. Harder!!!” You whine into his ear, nails scratching down his back.
Josh is standing above you, pounding in and out senselessly.
“You like that, y/n? Like the little whore you are. You're my slut, my little cum slut aren’t you?”
“OH MY GOD, JOSH I’M GONNA CUM, DON'T STOP!”
You shoot up in your bed with disappointment, beads of sweat beginning to form on your forehead. That was weird.
Why are you dreaming about him, especially after last night? You had left his house pissed. Knowing he arranged the entire thing to get Jake out of the house. And for him to not even text to see if you got back?
He was probably too busy scheming the next ‘hangout’ the two of you would have and how Jake would be going to Thomas’s dorm, or would it be Bob’s? It wouldn’t matter because it's bound to change.
When you got back last night your mind was filled with so many mixed emotions. You were pissed, for obvious reasons, but kind of honored? He made up a whole plan to get Jake out of the house so he could have you all to himself.
I guess that's what pussy deprivation does to a man.
You think about texting him. Letting him know how much of an ass he was last night, but right now all you could think about is how good he made you feel. He was passionate and hot. Something you never thought you’d be admitting about Josh.
You get up from bed and head to the shower. While walking there you check your phone. 12:17pm? Jeez. You were tired from yesterday so you woke up later than usual.
You close the door and begin to strip from your pajamas. Holy shit. You were covered in hickeys from last night. You hadn't realized how rough he was on you, but you didn’t mind. The dark purple looks good against your skin.
As you step into the shower you replay last night in your mind over and over as you go through your routine. Stepping out of the shower your skin felt hot and looked pink, making you feel a certain way.
You grab your towel and retreat back into your room. You turn on your lights to your room and close the blinds, filling the room with artificial light. You caught yourself staring in the mirror once again fascinated by the hickeys adorning your neck and chest, that's when it hits you.
Josh shouldn’t be the only one allowed to play games. You let your towel hit the floor and open the camera app on your phone. You begin posing until you find the perfect pose. You hold your phone horizontally in your left hand, showing off your bare chest and cutting off right below your nose.
You take your right arm and wrap it in front of your chest, covering your nipples and grabbing your boob in your right hand. You pull your hand in, creating a little extra cleavage, and finishing it off by opening your mouth just slighting.
You snap a few photos before checking them over to find the perfect one. After selecting it you open your messages and intentionally click on Josh’s name.
You add the picture along with a little note.
12:48pm y/n: *Attachment:1 image* Been thinking about you lately, can’t wait to see you again😘
You send your text and wait a moment to drive your plan home.
12:49pm y/n: Wasn’t meant for you but you can enjoy it, I guess.
That was sure to send him into a spiral. Now you sit and wait for it to all unravel.
JOSH’s POV
You hate doing the fucking dishes, especially when most of them are Jakes. Music helps you get through them though. You were getting tired of the current song that was on so you skipped to the next song, Kiss Me Thru The Phone started playing. As you close out of Apple Music, a notification pops up on your phone.
12:48pm y/n: *Attachment:1 image* Been thinking about you lately, can’t wait to see you again😘
Your eyes widen and jaw drops at the sight of the image.
It's her, covering her tits, hair wet draping over her collarbones, and mouth slightly open. The sight alone is enough to make you cum.
There is a second text underneath that you did not see.
12:49pm y/n: Wasn’t meant for you but you can enjoy it, I guess.
No fucking way. This has to be a joke. She’s gotta be fucking with you.
You take a look again. Her hickeys from last night were on full display. She’s a slut, but she's not a big enough slut to be showcasing them to another guy who didn't make them. You know it was for you.
Your dick was pressing hard against your plaid pajama pants, you knew you needed a release. Between this and last night it was much needed.
You head to your room down the hall, checking to see if Jake had left yet for his study group, luckily he did. You close the door for safe measures and lay down on your bed. You open your messages to it again, god she's so hot.
Her mouth, you need her mouth wrapped around your cock. Shoved deep down her throat, leaving her gagging for air.
You pull your pants down enough to release your length letting it slap against your abs.
Your tip is shining, glazed with pre-cum. You grab some lotion and begin to pump up and down, picking up the pace slowly. You stare at the photo, imagining what else could have happened if your cock-block of a brother hadn’t forgotten to not be at the house. I bet he did it on purpose, always having to ruin every moment. But you weren’t gonna let him infiltrate your mind during this moment.
You stare at her chest, seeing the marks that you made last night. When she was screaming your name, rocking back and forth on your cock. You pick up the pace, and begin rubbing your tip. You were so close, about to tip over the edge, the only thing it took was one simple thing she said last night that you’ve been thinking about since.
“Want more of a taste?”
With that you came hard, feeling the warm fluids hit your stomach. Breathing heavy you’re brought back to reality. You look down and see the mess you just made. She’s gotta know.
You open your camera and snap a photo, holding your dick up and abs painted with your cum.
1:15pm Josh: *Attachment:1 image* I know it was for me mama, you don’t have to lie. You’ll be the next one to make me cum tho, see you tomorrow.
With that you left it as it was, and planned on not talking until tomorrow during practice. Leaving her waiting and wanting more.
Y/n’s POV
To your surprise, Josh had caught on to your little game. But you were also left with a little present.
A little larger than most of the guys you’ve been with. You’d be lying if you said you didn’t think anything would be sent back. You almost expected it, especially coming from an attention seeking whore like him.
It made you want more from him. You wanted so badly to suck on his cock and make him cum in your mouth, swallowing down his fluids. You knew you couldn't give him the reaction he was hoping for. So all you did was ‘Heart’ the image. You thought about leaving a ‘HaHa’ on the photo but thought that would be too far.
You throw your phone onto your bed and pick out your clothing for the afternoon, since you and Charlotte would be staying in for the night. Some comfy lounge pants and a tank top were perfect for the occasion. You walk out to the living room to see Charlotte sprawled out on the couch, with Victorious pulled up on the tv. She was scrolling on her phone patiently waiting for you to join her.
She looks up from her phone. “Finallyyy.” You roll your eyes and smile. You crash onto the couch beside her.
“What was taking you so long you've been out of the shower for a while now?”
“Uh- umm, just looking for these pants, they were in my laundry pile that I never put away.”
She laughs and grabs the remote to start the next episode but immediately turns to you.
“So tell me everything about last night.” She says with a mischievous smile, wiggling her auburn eyebrows at you that match her thick, curly hair.
You giggle a little, thinking of maybe not sharing all the details, but fall under pressure to her convincing eyes.
“Okay, fine. So I went over there, late, because I got caught up talking with you!” You and her snicker to each other.
“But when I went to open the door it was Jake, and there was kind of, I don’t know, tension. Like he winked at me, Char.” Your eyes widen a little, recalling the events of last night.
“He’s so hot y/n, if things don’t work out with Josh I know which direction you should be heading.” She says with a smirk.
You punch her in the stomach. “Charrrr, stopp! It's not like that, besides I’m probably just overthinking it. Anyways, I went in and Josh was in a shitty mood because I was late. So, we went into the living room and started the movie. As it went on I was kinda stretching out, innocently, but then he kinda grabbed my ankle and was rubbing my leg. Obviously I wasn’t going to stop him, and then he kept going further and further up until he was practically in my shorts.”
“Omg he wants you so bad y/n.” You could tell Charlotte was loving every bit of this, she was such a great friend, always so supportive and interested in what you’ve got going on.
“Okay well… it only gets worse. He then PICKS up my legs and PLACES them on his thighs. After that I decided that it was time to make a move. So I got up and he pulled me down onto his lap. So I was straddling him and things got a little… you know.” You could feel the blood rush to your cheeks.
“This is crazy, then what happened?”
“Well he was about to go down on me, and then fucking jake WALKS in on us.”
“WHAT, did he see anything?” Her eyes widen, jaw slightly ajar.
“I don't think so, he turned away and left right after. But the thing is, he said he was going to Ben’s house after Josh said he was going to Scott’s.”
“So? He just messed up the names?”
“No, he didn’t. Josh obviously just wanted him out of the house so it was just him and I. Plus Jake was stuttering and forgetting where he was supposed to be. It was all planned, but it’s okay because I got a little something out of it.”
“Yeah I can see y/n.” She looks down to your chest smirking at your hickeys on full display.
You definitely were going to have to have a real shirt on tomorrow. “Whatever, let’s not think about him right now though, we have all our work done for the week, so let's just open a bottle and have a good night.” You smile at her, grabbing her hands into yours.
“YES! I’ll go grab the Pinot Noir, your fav!” She jumps up and runs to the small kitchen, hearing glasses being clanked around. “OMG I’m gonna grab some crackers and cheese too!” You hear from the kitchen.
You couldn’t have asked for a better roommate.
As the night went on many glasses of wine were poured, episodes were watched, and lots of girl talk. It's all really fuzzy, but you don't mind. Well you wouldn't, at least until tomorrow afternoon.

『apartment 23 - 1 - roomies』
Tumblr media
I'm just a little scoundrel. thanks to @maverick-rose for reading and giving incredible feedback!
THIS SERIES IS 18+ MINORS DNI
chapter warnings: lil angst here an there, mentions of alcohol and drug usage, the boys as teenagers
Sunlight poured in through the blinds you didn’t remember leaving open. If almost blinding you wasn’t enough, your alarm deafened you momentarily, alerting you that it was 6 in the morning. You mumbled some choice words as you pushed your comforter off of you, ready to start a mundane Wednesday.
As you pushed yourself through your morning routine, you were reminded of the little event on your calendar you’d been waiting months for: Josh would be coming home from tour that evening. He’d made some short visits home, and you’d gone to a show or two in the closest states, but he would be home for good. Well, as good as waiting for new tour dates to come up. Nevertheless, you missed him - and the other boys. More than anything, you missed the spectacularity that came with having Josh as your roommate. When he was home, there was never a dull moment.
You ate a quick breakfast and rushed out to attempt to get to work on time. The day seemed to drag on, as time does when you’re expecting something. You sat at your desk, checking the time every five minutes, only to be disappointed when only five minutes had passed. Anxiously sitting through various meetings, attempting to listen to what was being discussed was becoming increasingly difficult.
“So, Josh comes home tonight…” Tara was utterly convinced that you and Josh had some sort of ongoing secret rendezvous, when that was definitely not the case. He was your best friend, and roommate, who just so happened to be a man. You loved your coworker, but she would not let it go.
You scoffed lightly. “He does.”
“So I suppose you’re not going to…I don’t know…get all dolled up for him?”
“First of all, stop living vicariously through me. Second, no, I’m not. We’re going to do what we always do when he comes home: watch old movies and drink and he’ll tell stories of his wild adventures.”
She quirked a brow at you suspiciously. “And if one of these ‘wild adventures’ happened to involve another woman?”
You’d actually never thought of that. Josh tended to keep his relationships relatively private, not that he’d ever actually been in one during the course of your cohabitation. You’d been friends since childhood, so of course he’d had crushes and girlfriends, but you only ever found out through one of his brothers.
Josh was being weird. Well, he was always weird, but now more so than ever. He’d never been a great liar or keeper of secrets, but he was trying his damndest, apparently. When you’d asked if the two of you were still on for your weekly movie night in his basement, he stuttered out that he couldn’t make it.
“I have plans.”
“But, you never make plans on Fridays.” It had been tradition for four years at that point that Fridays were off limits for plan-making. Even at 15, you never expected him to break it, seeing as he always claimed it was his favorite time of the week.
“Well, this time I did.” You were taken aback at his attitude, but you’d never been very confrontational.
“Oh, okay. I-I guess I’ll just…hang out with Ronnie or something.” Josh’s gaze softened at the way your eyes were cast down at your shoes, and he felt bad.
He sighed. “I’m sorry, next week, I promise.” His finger lifted your jaw to look at him, and you saw the sincerity in his eyes. You could never be upset with him for long, it was impossible.
When you’d arrived at the Kiszkas’ that night, you received a strange look from Karen - but a hug and a welcome, nevertheless.
“Sweetie, I thought you canceled movie night, Josh is even on a date right now.” It hit you like a punch in the gut.
“Huh? He - he’s the one who canceled. Josh told me he made plans…” A date was the plan, evidently.
Her face suddenly hardened and she muttered something under her breath that you couldn’t quite catch. She called Ronnie down, who was happy to hang out with you. In fact, she was mad at her brother too.
“I just thought she was my friend, but apparently she just wants to…make out with my brother,” Ronnie ranted as you ate ice cream on the floor of her room.
You questioned, “I thought she had a thing for Danny?”
She scoffed, “Apparently, she’s into ‘older men’ now. He’s not that much older than us!” The two of you laughed.
Despite only being a few months older than Ronnie, you and Josh had quickly become close at your first mention of John Denver. He learned quickly that you had many shared interests, and that you didn’t throw things or yell at him when he paused a movie to talk about it.
“You’re like…a cool little sister,” you remember him saying.
Swallowing thickly, you managed, “I’ll be happy for him. He deserves to have fun while he’s young.”
“Sure, sure. But what if this time is different. I mean, he meets thousands of girls on tour, who’s to say he hasn’t met the One?”
Oh. That thought had also never occurred to you. Your main concern was your living arrangement. If Josh found love, what would happen to you?
You waved her off, not wanting to stomach any more possible life altering questions about Josh. Tara smirked at you, and you both knew she had won this time.
With her words on your mind, time seemed to fly by, and now you wished it would slow back down. You didn’t think you could physically handle it if Josh was going to tell you about a beautiful woman he had fallen in love with on tour. However, there was nothing you could do to stop it, either. You would have to go home and see him, starry eyes and all.
“Bye, babe!” Tara’s voice pulled you from your thoughts, “Have fun with Josh!” There was no double meaning to her comment. As much as she prodded you about the “situation”, she truly loved how happy you were around him.
Then, you realized her goodbye meant it was time to leave. Time to go home, and wait for Josh. Dread filled your brain with all of Tara’s previous comments and questions. You sighed heavily, turning off your computer and grabbing your stuff.
The drive home was silent, as music would have only reminded you of him. Your library consisted of his music, things he had introduced you to that you immediately put on a playlist. It was played during every drive, no matter how long, even when he wasn’t there - not that you would ever tell him that.
When you walked in the door, you were almost relieved that he hadn’t beaten you home. Pouring a glass of wine, you made your way to the bathroom, hoping a hot bath would ease the stress.
After almost an hour, you climbed out, almost slipping over the side of the tub in the process. Your skin was red from the heat, and the wine wasn’t helping your dehydration. Donning a shirt that had once belonged to Josh, and some sleep shorts, you sprawled out on the couch, watching the minutes pass by as you waited for his arrival. When you thought back to Tara’s words, you realized that even if you were in love with him - which you weren’t - you would never be anything in his eyes than the little sister he lived with.
You hated the fact that Josh could talk you into anything. The last place you wanted to be on a Saturday night was at a party with him and Jake. Ronnie had convinced you it would mean hanging out with cute Senior boys, but in reality you just wanted to spend your time with Josh. If that meant being suffocated by the body heat of 50 strangers, so be it.
He was leading you through the halls as if he lived there. In the basement, there was a circle formed and you could see the flicker of the end of a joint. It made you uneasy, but with a little squeeze of your hand, your nerves settled.
“Wanna play a little truth or dare?” Josh asked you and his twin.
Jake scoffed, “I’m not 12, thanks.”
There he was though, arms crossed as you sat in between him and Josh.
Before you could register, the bottle had landed on your best friend.
“I dare you to kiss, uh, her.” A finger was pointed in your direction and Josh spilled out your name.
“No, no way. She’s…she’s like my sister, man!” You laughed along with him - and everyone else in the circle - but you could feel the burning suggestion of tears in your eyes.
You leaned into Jake, “I’m - I’m gonna get a drink.” He nodded and Josh didn’t even notice your absence.
You didn’t recall falling asleep until you were suddenly awoken by an attempt to get into your apartment. Keys jingled in the lock until you heard them fall to the ground, followed by a quiet “fuck”. Knowing it was Josh by voice recognition alone, you hurried to open the door for him, only to have him fall into you.
“Oops, sorry, mama,” he managed through obviously drunken giggles. “Oh, hey, I haven’t seen you!”
You laughed softly. “You’ve been on tour, Joshy.”
“I have, haven’t I? Now I’m home. With you!” He hugged you and you suddenly remembered that he gave the best hugs. His arms were warm around you and you could feel his light breaths on your neck. It made you shiver.
“Cold?” You nodded, even though you were perfectly warm.
“Let’s get you to bed, rockstar.” He giggled at that, once again.
As you waited outside his bedroom for him to put on pajamas, you could hear him fall a few times and laugh as he did it. You knocked just to be sure he was decent before opening the door. Placing a glass of water and some Advil on his nightstand, he grabbed you from behind, pulling you into his chest.
“I missed you, Red,” he whispered.
The instructions on the box had told you that the color would fade gradually in 2-3 washes. You vividly remembered that as Ronnie read them to you in your bathroom, at one in the morning on a Saturday, with a towel draped around your neck.
“How long are we supposed to let it sit?” You’d asked, sitting upright in your bed to avoid staining your sheets.
“Um, I think it was 30 minutes.” You both laughed and hoped she was right.
Your nerves the next day skyrocketed in the presence of school. You were nearing the end of your junior year, and your only claim to fame thus far were Jake and Josh, the seniors who everyone loved.
“Oh my god.” You heard Sam’s exclamation before you saw him. Jake stood beside him, hand over his mouth, hiding a smile, as he looked at your new hair color.
“It looks…”
“Dumb, I know.”
“I was gonna say…different,” Jake hesitated, and you knew he didn’t exactly love it. Who cared? You had done it for you, not Sam or Jake Kiszka.
However, at a party at the end of that week, you sat alone in the corner of the living room, nursing a cup that held something absolutely repulsive.
“Y’know,”
“God, Josh! You scared me. Can’t sneak up on people like that.”
He seemed to ignore you, “Y’know, I never gave my opinion on your new hair.”
Josh’s forefinger and thumb took a small section of the brightly colored locks in between themselves, twirling them around as if they were on his own head. It was only then you noticed how he towered over you in your sitting position, as you forced yourself to look up into his eyes.
“And?” You hoped he couldn’t detect the waver in your breathing.
“I like it, you’re like…my Little Red.”
In a moment of weakness you whispered back, “I missed you too, Joshy.”
He kissed your cheek from his position and you could smell grapefruit and whiskey on his breath. You blew a kiss in his direction, just to return the gesture, and turned around in his arms.
“I’m tired.” Smiling, you gestured to his bed.
As you pulled the comforter around him, you made the last minute decision to kiss his forehead. Before you could pull away, his hand caressed your jaw. He pulled you in gently, laying his lips ever so slightly on yours.
“I love you, Red.” Josh spoke against your mouth.

All Mine- Josh Kiszka x F!Reader
Tumblr media
Summary: You've finally decided to tell Josh how you feel, and you want to do it by learning to play one of his favorite songs for him. You ask Jake to teach you the song on guitar, but when Josh catches you mid-lesson he assumes that you and Jake are flirting and gets wildly jealous.
Includes: tension, angst, some jealousy and possessiveness, a touch of sweetness at the end (don't worry)
"Okay, now play a C."
At Jake's command, your fingers fly to the position you'd just went over at least five times. Well, it was either that position or the one before it. You had to admit this was harder than you had anticipated. As the chord rang out, you winced at the dissonance in the air. So it definitely wasn't that one.
"Sorry, Jake." You muttered sheepishly.
He waved a dismissive hand. "S'okay, don't worry about it. You just need to scoot your fingers up a fret, then move your index finger down a string."
You nodded and adjusted your hands on the fretboard. The chord still sounded a bit off when you strummed the guitar once more.
Maybe this wasn't your best idea. You really wanted to do something special for Josh, something to show him you really care about him as more than just a friend. He was always saying music was an expression of love and things like that, so what better way to tell him you love him than play him some music that he loves?
Well, turned out it was pretty hard to out-romance the romantic.
You weren't naturally musically gifted, that wasn't a new fact. You had known the boys since high school, and while you were great at supporting their band or providing non-technical feedback, you had never been able to contribute any music yourself.
That was about to change. That much you had decided. And if you were being honest with yourself, by focusing your energy on learning some John Denver songs, then you didn't have to think about what might happen if Josh brutally rejected your feelings. Your headspace was entirely committed to guitar lessons.
"Here, just let me show you." Jake scooted closer and placed his fingers over yours, scooting your fingers into the correct chord shape. "Now try it."
This time the sound that radiated from the guitar was actually pleasant.
"Oh, thank god," You sighed happily, and Jake chuckled beside you. "You might just be a literal miracle worker."
The door to the studio swung open right at that moment, Jake still practically wrapped around you, and in walked Josh.
"Hey, Sammy's got dinner ready if you..." Josh trailed off once he noticed the two of you. He stood frozen for a minute before his expression turned stony. "Dinner's ready whenever you're done."
With that, Josh was gone.
"The hell is his problem?" Jake muttered, giving you a glance.
"How should I know? He's moody sometimes?" You shrugged, brow furrowed.
"And yet you're still in love with the asshole."
You elbowed Jake and stood from the bench. It's not like it was weird for you to hang out with Jake, or any of the guys for that matter. You were close with all of them, it was no big deal.
"Fuck off, Jake, we both know you act the same way sometimes," You flipped him off and rolled your eyes. "Let's go eat before Sam gets antsy."
Jake set his guitar back on the stand and the two of you trailed out after you. Before you stepped into the kitchen, a thought popped up in your mind. You hesitated and grabbed Jake’s arm, pulling him to the side in the hall.
“Hey…you don’t think he’s mad at me for something, do you?” You whispered.
Jake took in your panicked appearance and sighed. “Listen, you didn’t do anything. You said it yourself, he just gets like this sometimes. Someone else probably pissed him off.”
“I’m just saying, if I’m going to tell him I’m in love with him, which could potentially ruin our lifelong friendship, being pissed at me won’t exactly make him more receptive.” The words left your mouth almost too quick to understand.
Jake put a reassuring hand in your shoulder and smiled. “Trust me, kid, I doubt he could ever be mad at you.”
Before you could ask Jake to elaborate on that, he sauntered into the kitchen, leaving you in the hallway alone.
“Fuck,” You sight and brushed a finger through your hair. All your plans felt like they were going so poorly. You couldn’t learn the damn song, Josh was pissed, and you weren’t even sure if he liked you back. All this felt too “high school drama” for a group of adults.
“Hey, everything okay?” Danny poked his head out in the hall and shot you a concerned look.
You gave him your best smile. “Yeah, I’m good. Hungry. Let’s go eat.”
It was best to avoid the topic with Danny. He was sweet, but that was the problem. He would somehow get you to confess all your problems and worries, and that wasn’t all that appealing to you at the moment.
You could tell just by glancing at him that he didn’t buy it, but relented anyway. “Alright, if you say so.”
You gave him one last nod, and the two of you joined the rest of the guys in the kitchen.
Jake and Sam were talking away happily as they finished setting dishes on the table. That wasn’t true for the third Kiszka brother, unfortunately. Josh, while slightly less cold than earlier, still maintained an irritated expression as he downed a glass of amber liquid. Fantastic, he was pissed enough to be drinking. He didn’t even look at you or Jake as everyone sat down to eat.
Of course you couldn’t even get through the meal without a blow up.
“So, I hear we have our own Hendrix on the rise. Or are you more of a Clapton? No, let me guess…Jimmy Page?” Sam elbowed your arm lightly with a playful grin.
“Oh, definitely. I’m practically a prodigy.” You deadpanned, stabbing through a clump on noodles on your plate.
“Guitar lessons not going so well?” Danny raised an eyebrow.
“Not quite.” You grimaced at the recollection of the strained chords you were playing earlier.
“I’m sure Jakey was teaching you plenty. Or maybe he wasn’t making great use of his time.” Josh spat, suddenly speaking up from the end of the table.
Everyone turned to look at him. Something about the conversation had made him revert back to the way he looked earlier.
“What’s your problem, man?” Sam looked at Josh, utterly confused.
Josh scoffed a laugh. “Problem? There’s no problem! I mean, Jakey’s a great teacher. I’m sure she learned plenty.”
His chair screeched against the floor as he abruptly stood and left the room. The rest of you were speechless. Yeah, the boys fought sometimes, but usually that was reserved to arguments about the band and music and things of that nature. Not whatever this was.
“So it is me then. It has to be. He’s pissed at me.” You huffed a bitter laugh and took a swig of your beer. “Perfect.”
“Not you. Me. Looked at me like he wanted to kill me as soon as I walked in.” Jake muttered, downing the rest of his drink.
“Well, that still doesn’t explain what either of us did to make him that pissed. We’ve barely been around him today!”
“Nothing crazier than a man in love,” Sammy mumbled to Danny, not quite as quietly as he intended.
You blinked at the youngest Kiszka. “A man in what?”
Sam’s face took on a panicked expression. He began stumbling over his words, fumbling for excuses before Jake cut him off.
“Listen, it’s probably best that you’ve told her,” Jake waved a dismissive hand at his brother and turned to face you. “Ok, I’ve tried to hint at it, but that hasn’t worked, so there it is. He’s crazy about you, that’s probably why he was pissed when he caught us playing guitar. So, now you know. Please go fix him before he rips our heads off.”
You immediately stood and headed after him, not giving yourself any time to contemplate on whether this was a wise idea. You couldn’t think on this. If you allowed a moment to second-guess what you were about to do you would never be able to go through with it.
It was a lot to process anyway. Josh had feelings for you too. He liked you. A smile slowly crept onto your face as you paced down the hall, but it vanished as soon as you got to his door.
He was in there. You could tell from the music drifting out into the hall through the closed door. With a deep breath, you knocked.
At first, there was no answer.
“Josh? Please open the door, I want to talk.” You knocked again as you pleaded with him.
Another beat of silence. Then the sound of footsteps. Then he opened the door.
“What is it?” He ground out.
As he took in your appearance and the nervousness written on your features, his expression softened slightly.
“Just hear me out, okay? Nothing happened with me and Jake. Please don’t be mad at him, I promise he was just helping me learn a song. Besides, we’re friends, and I don’t feel that way towards him.” The words rushed out of your mouth desperately.
Josh sighed and gave you a sad smile. “You don’t have to defend anything to me. I’m sorry I reacted bad, but if you’re happy then I can be happy with that too. You don’t have to worry about me.”
You shook your head at him. “No, no, no, I wasn’t lying. Nothing happened. That’s the truth. I really need to you to believe that.”
“Why? Why is that so important?”
Oh boy. This was it. No going back. “Because, Josh, that was all for you!”
“You got all snuggled up to my brother for me?” He crossed his arms, giving you a skeptical look.
You let out a frustrated groan. “No! It wasn’t ‘snuggling’, he was teaching me to play John Denver. I wanted to learn some for you. I wanted to be able to play you a song for once, so I could tell you…”
The confidence in your voice quickly faded as you neared the end of your statement. Maybe it wasn’t going to be as easy to rip off the bandaid as you thought.
“Tell me what?” Josh’s voice got quieter. He uncrossed his arms and took a step toward you. “What were you going to tell me?”
His eyes were locked on yours now. You mirrored his actions and took a step closer. He did the same until barely any space was left between the two of you. You watched as his eyes slowly drifted down to gaze at your lips, and you made your move.
You pressed your lips to his, and he met you with the same level of hunger. His hands traveled to your waist, pulling you into him. It took everything in you not to tangle your fingers in his beautiful curls, because if you did that there would be no way you could stop and you needed to say the words. You needed him to hear it.
“I’m in love with you, Josh. Only you.” You panted in between kisses.
He broke apart and looked at you with a grin. “You mean that, baby?”
“More than anything.” You matched his smile.
He pulled you in for one more kiss. “Good, because you’re all mine.”
You melted into his kiss once more before a shout from the kitchen interrupted you.
“Are you guys done yet? Can we finish dinner?” Sam yelled.
“Fuck off, Sammy, just eat the damn food!” Josh shouted back.
You chuckled and linked your hand with his as you started off down the hallway. A light tug from Josh stopped you in your tracks.
“What’s wrong?”
He gave you a devilish grin. “Where are you going, mama? I’ve got other plans for us if you’re interested.”
Oh. Oh.
“Lead the way, Josh.”
Before you could protest, he picked you up and spun you around. Your shriek quickly dissolved into laughter as he carried you into his room and shut the door.

Hiii!! Could you do 19 and 43 with Josh pls🥹🥹🥹
19. “If we get caught I’m blaming you.”
43. “We need to talk about what happened last night.”
Tumblr media
most of the night had been a blur. you were invited to a house party by jake and josh, but the bad thing is that danny was there. a few weeks ago, you and danny broke up, and while the guys promised it wouldn’t be weird…it was.
you tried avoiding him all night, but it was difficult to. so, you turned to alcohol to try and forget that he was here, especially with some girl on his arm. it hadn’t been that long, and it really got your mind thinking, in a really bad way.
eventually, you find josh and try to have a good time, and it works. he’s able to make you laugh and forget why you were even upset. at some point, josh brings you out to the backyard for some fresh air, and to be able to hear one another for a bit.
“so, are you having a good time tonight?” he asks after the conversation quiets down.
“i am now, thanks to you.” he smiles warmly at you and reaches for your hand.
“you know, i think you’re a really strong person,” he murmurs, stepping a bit closer to you. without even thinking, you lean in closer to him, as if it was natural. josh doesn’t pull away, allowing you to make the decision; he didn’t want to push you into doing anything.
but something deep down was telling you this is what you wanted. whether it was the alcohol or hidden feelings for josh that you’ve always had, before you knew it, you were kissing him softly.
josh kisses you back a little, but you could tell he was a bit hesitant because of the situation.
“are you sure?” he breathes out against your lips. “y-you know…with everything?”
“yes, josh. please?” with that simple breathe of approval, josh rushes back inside with you and brings you straight upstairs to an empty bedroom. thankfully, with this being jake’s house, he chose the guest room that usually remains locked, but josh knows where the key is, so he sneaks in when he wants to.
josh immediately attaches back to you, kissing you deeply as his hands wrap around your waist, grabbing onto you hard. he couldn’t believe this was happening right now, but he was very excited.
“if we get caught i’m blaming you,” he mumbles against your lips. you giggle and cup his cheeks with your hands.
“deal. try and stay quiet then,” you tease back, biting at his neck. he sighs and shivers at the feeling, guiding you back over to the bed.
“last time, are you sure you want this?” he pauses to hover above you. your thumb runs over his bottom lip, his dark brown eyes filled with lust and want.
“yes,” you whisper. “i want this.”
the rest of the night is a blur. all you remember is clothes fluttering around you to the floor, josh’s breath all over your body, and the way his hair felt between your legs.
as the morning sun rises, you slowly wake up, your head immediately pounding due to your hangover. groaning, you try and sit up, but an arm wrapped around your body stops you. turning, you find josh still passed out, snoring lightly.
you stay put for a bit, watching josh for as long as you could, but eventually, you get up to use the bathroom and take some medicine. when you return, josh is sitting up, awake, rubbing his eyes. you carefully take a seat next to him again and stare forward.
“i think…” he begins, his voice is rough and still filled with sleep, “we need to talk about what happened last night."
silence falls over the two of you and you nod.
“i mean…do you regret it?” josh immediately rushes to your side and wraps an arm around  your shoulder. “no, i don’t regret it at all. i just…i want to make sure if this was a one time thing, or if…if you’d like to continue this? or…”
“if maybe we could go on a real date?” you speak what’s on your mind. josh gazes into your eyes and smiles gently.
“you’d want that?” he wonders. you think for a moment, just staring into his eyes, seeing and feeling the passion that he gives off.
“i’d love that, josh.”

On reddit someone asked of Ashley and Emily are friends, and I thought this comment was interesting.
"They really did seem like friends until the bite fiasco happened. We see Ashley attempt to give Emily the benefit of the doubt as well as reassure Matt if she allows him to see Rmily and Mike talk. Emily shows concern for Ash as well as Chris when she and Matt runs into them after Josh’s apparent death. Ashley helps Sam bring Emily in after her escape from the mines. When the stranger walks in Emily can be seen with her hand on Ashley’s back, gently sitting her down. Emily is thankful to see Chris, Ash, and Mike if Chris lived outside or if Chris died she embraces Ashley and feels terrible about what happened.
Then Ashley suddenly freaks over one of the many injuries on Emily. I get that she is scared and panicked but goddamn would she calm down. One thing that makes me dislike Ashley for this is that she causes panic and stokes the fears of the others and leaves them questioning what was really said. She claims the stranger said they turn from eating each other. Not only does that not make sense but it’s not what he told them. Was she not paying attention? The stranger said a person has to commit cannibalism. That is completely different. Naturally everyone else, even Sam, starts questioning what was told to them. There was no reason to jump to that conclusion. The idea of giving Em the boot is Mike’s who’s also a pos in that scene, but the way Ashley hops on it is just gross. She starts treating Emily like a dirty animal. A rabid dog yelling at her to get lost. Aren’t they supposed to be friends?
Emily hasn’t done or said a bad thing to or about Ashley before this point. The hostility was crazy. And yes, her relationship with Mike drops to 0 if he murders Em, but if Mike doesn't execute Emily, Sam says he did the right thing. Ashley with a very bitter tone says “I hope you did”. That rubs me the wrong way the way she says that. The way she moves after Mike leaves is crazy spooky too lol. Idk I’ve seen a few people get weirded out at her movements during that part 😅.
The worst part of all of it tho is definitely when she considers hiding the truth to save face(haha) regardless of whether Emily was killed. Lying will drop her relationship with Sam to 0. That says a lot. There’s honestly no win for Ashley here. It’s either have Sam lose respect for her or have Emily hate her forever. If Ash does reveal the truth, she does seem to be really sorry about what just happened. Emily tho is furious and is well within her right to be so. She was nearly murdered by her friends and expect warm fuzzies? No way. Sam tries to diffuse things but fucks off probably realizing there’s no saving this relationship lol.
Emily tells Ash there’s no excuse to be made and she’s right. Ashley could have just listened to the stranger’s words clearly for starters. And the way she treated Emily for that brief moment was awful. No excuse. Emily walks away from her and Ash gets close again trying to tell Emily to understand. That’s when she loses it and strikes her down with one of the most iconic lines from the game. And can we talk about how if Emily is murdered, no one thinks to place her in a more dignified position😅?
Like can y’all close the EYE and mouth of your friend? Maybe lay her down on her back, cross her arms. Do something! Disrespectful leaving her slumped like that. Honestly a few deaths feels kinda odd, not just that one. Like how no one mentions Ashley’s random disappearance or Emily always act as if Matt never falls off the cliff instead defaulting to the tower collapse. Anyways, back on topic lol.
When they’re all running from the wendigos that Mike freed, the dumbass. Emily shoves Ashley which may be the worst thing she does because before then Emily never does anything evil like that. Like, ever. Some people pretend she does but she doesn’t. I don’t think this move was an attempt at Ashley’s life though. I really don’t think so. Do I still view it as a petty, vindictive, heinous act? As much as I love Em, yes. To me this feels like “you caused my life to be endangered so consider this payback”.
In short, they did seemed to be friends with no issue with one another but that ended when Ashley’s stupidity and hysteria nearly got Emily murdered." Written by a reddit user.

This is about s05e16 from 9-1-1. Be warned it's almost 700 words.
Is this the episode with the fire? Because then I am scared. I know nobody will die, at least none of the main characters, but I'm still scared. Let them be alright, please.
She annoys me so much. Like, give credit. That was May's call. Dad Bobby. "You mess with MY kid." Shut the fuck up. That's adorable. He didn't promise. That was not the right thing to say, Chim. Eddie's face, haha. He is drinking the tea/ coffee instead of spilling it. That was hilarious. And good for you, May, yell at her. Joss, you hopeless idiot. I do not trust that man. I have never seen you before. Oh no, May is going to be locked in that room, and Eddie will go and try to find her. Shit. Did he just tease Josh about a crush? Eddie, you dog. I hate Claudette with everything I have, and May should slap her. Claudette got a point, but I still don't like her.
Firefighter Eddie Diaz, whoop. Buddie teamwork again this makes me so happy. I am smiling so hard. "He has been waiting months to say that." I love their friendship, aww. Eddie's face when Buck starts rambling. He is like, not the time, not the time. "Don't tell your mother." Haha.
This is all going too well. I am nervous. Not the exact same way he lost Kevin, oh no. I suspected, oh god. Thank god they are all still alive. I love the immediate look and run from Buck and Eddie. That scene is so beautiful. When they all came walking out of the building. I have tears in my eyes. I love the friendship Eddie has with the dispatchers. "I am just glad you weren't with him." That sentence feels so weird. Because Buck has red eyes and looks like he is going to fall apart any moment, and that has nothing to do with Lucy. That has to do with almost losing Bobby, who is like a father to him. To say that feels like they are minimising that feeling. I hate that line. It makes no sense. Taylor is catching on. Which almost makes it worse. That they made that the focus instead of Buck getting a hug or being with Bobby feels very wrong. Like, I don't like Taylor and Buck together, but she knows him well enough to know how much Bobby means to him and for her not to go up to him makes no sense. Even for like a minute. And where was Eddie during all of this? That scene was amazing, but that part kind of ruined it.
Aw, May and Bobby. Yes, Josh get it. That was being supportive good job Chim. Albert's smile. Buck and Eddie are in the background. What are you doing gentleman? You looking awfully close there. I kinda love that Buck is with Eddie while Taylor is also there. I like how she handled that, that was classy. But it is also clear that she is worried about Buck while also wanting to see how Lucy would react.
Yeah, that makes no sense. She was up and talking, and I just don't trust him. Poor May. Also, how is it that Bobby and the rest of the crew were in the hospital faster than Claudette? Bobby and May one thing, but the rest, no. It's weird. She is suspicious good. Do we get detective Wilson back? Yess Karen. I think that we need more Karen in this series.
This is a good episode and very action filled, and that is what we need once in a while. I love how May had the focus this episode, and you see how awesome she is. I also need more of her. I am curious if Eddie will go back to 118. He has Christophers blessing. I am a bit scared about what will happen with Jonah next episode.

the wilds s2 e7 girls!! we are close to the end and i am close to the end of my rope
the fact they let gretchen twist these kids’ trauma into making them listen to her is so fucking sick! where is nora! what horrifying thing are we going to learn about seth!
wow the child casting is so good on this show
happy montage is way too happy what’s happening now. oh mommy abandonment issues? oh child self-harm lovely. well was expecting worse as the SA backstory but here we are
what’s so good with the girls is they all have their ups and downs / moments where they step up for the team. also this is rachel’s season i love her & her fucking self-determination.
fatin it must be said has also been flawless team mom the whole season.
seth needs a jumpscare at this point
of course seth is the #nice guy hung up on a girl friend dating someone else. please tell me he does not assault her while shes drunk.
fatin’s kanken backpack still holding up bless
kirin and josh’s friendship is good, but kirin’s mentality is a bit screwy and the influence is 50/50 good and bad. toxic masculinity is a bitch is the moral here. nice job gang.
poor fucking henry trying to passively coast through the entire mess on the island
seth and henry’s home dynamic is so specific and weird. not really feeling the focus on seth’s nice boy act. and since back home he has the girl and whatever now im expecting some other drama to unravel him enough to land in therapy with gretchen.
god seth makes me so uncomfortable with the buddy buddy look at me im so nice act. show some contrition or honesty jesus. you assaulted someone!!!! theres no reset button asshole!!!!
rachel being that girl once more. she gets through to leah. she gets through to toni. she gets through to herself.
just now connecting dots to dot’s dad and martha….. yeah ow
me @ seth when hes talking to henry: stay away from her! get a job!
even more so because seth clearly has a hand in this island bullshit so hes just! letting it happen! fuckkkk him!! so hard!!!!
why are we all moving on from this assault so casually gang. seth has to fucking psychologically admit to it at some point. yes his stance is logical but i feel like they should still make him face his actions not just circle around them via niceties.
oh hes going to do something insane to the boyfriend isnt he.
OH THE FUCKING CAT
leah bi confirmed thru her crush list babey
i have mixed feelings about shoni this season
well there goes the haircut. shelby’s bangs and wig are bad.
is there a second mole on the girls’ island??? i forget if this has been established before.
i feel for raf so bad bc hes got one singular friend who brought him into the fold & who he wants to help but that friend is a fucking piece of shit.
GOD seth’s complete refusal to act anything but jocularly normal is driving me insane.
ok well it’s driving everyone else insane too apparently! thank you showrunners.
oh yeah full abusive obsessive #nice guy it checks out. still not connecting the dots with what made him assault josh but the whole vibe is cohesively terrible. henry has it right.
oh my god gretchen shut the fuck up this guy needed an actual therapist not your enabling ass
honestly i keep saying this but she’s such a failure this whole experiment is such a flop. her dumbass justification is so stupid. terf logic
oh my god THIS random guy who knows leah??? are you joking
as stupid as it is gretchen’s awful son being her downfall would be just satisfying enough to be appreciable

"Y/N, I'm just saying I don't think you should give him a second chance," Bucky stated. "Y/N, I kind of agree with Bucky. You deserve better than that." "Thank you, Sam. I really appreciate both of you looking out for me, but I know Josh, and I know he really meant that apology. He knows cheating was a mistake. But, he got it out of his system and is done with her." Y/N said it with as much conviction as she could, but if she were honest, she was trying to really believe it herself. Josh had been wonderful to her the first few months. Great dates, got along with all the other team members, and understood that being on the Avengers team meant time away and silence. Or at least she thought he had understood that, but ultimately a long mission overseas had pushed Josh away and into the arms of another. They had fought and broken up 3 weeks ago, and Y/N had been miserable. Two days ago, though, Josh had called and apologized. They had talked and worked through everything that had happened and was meeting for drinks at a club tonight. "Please be safe, and we are here if you need us." "Thanks, Buck." "You look beautiful now go get'em," Sam encouraged as Y/N walked out of the door. The moment it closed behind her, he turned to Bucky, "Man, what the hell? Why don't you tell her how you feel?" "Because Sam," Bucky started with a sigh, "I can't. She deserves normal, and that's not me." "Dude, she's not normal. She's one of us. She needs someone who understands that better than anyone else." Bucky got up, running a hand through his hair, and walked to his room.
Loud music thumped in Y/N ears, making it even harder to think everything through. Still, she was trying to focus on moving past Josh's indiscretions and just be in the moment with him. They were curled up together in a booth in the back corner of the club.
"I am really glad you decided to come tonight, Y/N." "I am too. I'm really glad you called." "Me too," He said, leaning in a little closer to Y/N, wrapping his hand around the side of her neck and playing with a strand of hair. "I know it can be challenging to be with someone in a line of work that keeps them away, but I promise I am always thinking about getting back to you." "It's okay, baby. I understand, plus I get to say my girl is an Avenger."
Y/N got a weird feeling that maybe that was the only reason he had called. She finished her drink in a gulp, trying to gain the courage to ask, but before she could, Josh noticed and jumped up, offering to get another for her. Y/N sat there looking down at her hands and clothes. She had worn a black leather mini-skirt with a black and silver tank top that dipped a little lower than ordinarily acceptable as a tank top. She, all of a sudden, didn't want to be in any of it. It felt like a mask hiding the issues she hadn't realized she wanted to still talk through with Josh. She pulled her skirt back down as she got up to go find him and tell him she wanted to go home so they could talk things through more, but it was stilled the moment she saw him at the bar kissing another girl. She was angry not so much at Josh but more at herself for easily believing all his lies. This time she didn't care what his reasoning was or what apology he might give. She was over him completely.
Y/N stormed out of the club, hailed a cab, and went home. The second she made it inside the front doors, she took her shoes off and stomped to the kitchen. She was starving, and the anger she was still holding on to was making it worse. It was close to 11 o'clock, so she tried to be more quiet knowing others were in their rooms asleep. She was looking for something to eat while mumbling to herself about "all men being pigs" and "stupid, stupid Y/N, of course, he was lying," followed by more of "dumb men." A clearing of a throat made her jump. "Fuck" Bucky snickered to himself, seeing her jump in surprise. Y/N was not as pleased Bucky was wearing the same thing he had been earlier a pair of jeans and an old t-shirt. "What do you want? Why aren't you sleeping," she snapped a little harsher than necessary as she settled on a bag of popcorn, throwing it in the microwave. "I wanted to see how everything went but judging by the attitude..." he let the sentence die in the air. "Yes, if you must know. You were right. I got there, he would barely talk, and when he got up to get me a refill, I found him with his tongue down someone's throat so. Yea, not great." By the time Y/N had finished, Bucky had moved in to wrap her in a hug. "I'm sorry, doll. You didn't deserve that. " They stood there for a moment, and Y/N felt some of the anger leave her body. Then, finally, she pulled away, "That's okay. Lesson learned, I guess. You can go to bed now. I am just gonna eat a little bit and go to bed myself." "Mind if I join in on that popcorn action."  Y/N smiled. She knew he loved it, and if she had said no, he would just make himself a bag. "Of course you can, Buck." The microwaved beeped, and Y/N pulled the bag out. They walked into the living room. Bucky turned on the tv to some random old movie that was close to being over. He knew they wouldn't really pay attention, just use it as background noise. Y/N plopped down on the couch with a sigh. Bucky sank into the couch as well, facing her, ready to listen. "No offense, but why do all men suck," she said with a humorless laugh. "I guess I am only partially mad at him though I should've known better. So very few people understand this kind of life." Bucky just starred at her wishing he could ease the pain and self-guilt she was feeling. Y/N kept on talking out loud, more just letting her mind wander through everything than really looking for a conversation. I was when she really started tearing herself down when she felt something hit her forehead. "What? What was that? Did you just throw popcorn at me?" She said, trying to hide a smile. "Yea, I did, "Bucky responded with no further explanation. "Whatever, guess I deserve it for being such a dunce," Y/N sighed. Another piece of popcorn flew through the air and hit her nose.
"What was that for?" "You're smart figure it out," Bucky complimented. Y/N blew it off again, thinking nothing of it other than Bucky being annoying. "Anyway, like I was saying, I know it could happen to anyone, but I just feel a little silly and honestly kinda stupid..." Before she could finish the word, another piece hit her. She sighed deeply with understanding. "Okay, let me test my theory. The sky is blue. I am an Avenger. I am the dumb..." Another piece of popcorn hit her. Bucky couldn't contain his smile, "Seems like you figured it out." "Yes, ha ha ha, you're so funny. I get hit with popcorn every time I say something bad about myself." Although she couldn't laugh, it was making her smile just a little. The smile grew when she picked up a piece and threw it back at him. He saw her aim and caught it in his mouth. After that, she threw piece after piece, watching him dart in different directions trying to catch them. He had finally managed to make her laugh and think about something else. They had finished the bag, and the movie had started to roll credit across the screen playing an old Fran Sinatra song. Y/N was about to get up to go to bed when Bucky asked, "Did you dance tonight?" "What? Oh no, we never got around to actually dancing. Why?" "You can't get all dressed up to go out and not dance," He said, standing and pulling Y/N into his arms. "You dance?" Y/N said with a raised eyebrow. "Well, I used to. May I have this dance." Y/N smiled a little, "Yes, you may." They swayed in the living room back in forth. Bucky had Y/Ns hand in his and his arm wrapped around his waist. She had her head resting on his shoulder, enjoying the moment. She sighed, sinking into his arms further. Bucky slid his hand into her hair at the base of her neck. Y/N looked up at him and saw that he was already looking down at her. They had stopped dancing, and the way Bucky was looking at her was making her thighs tighten together. He smiled a little but didn't move. Y/N, already frustrated from how the night had turned out with Josh, didn't have very much patience left. She pushed up on her tiptoes and leaned into Bucky, kissing him lightly on the lips.
She pulled away and immediately was pulled back into him. He captured her lips with his own, taking over the kiss, and Y/N melted into him even more, moving to wrap her arms around his neck. He slid his hand under the hem of her shirt, and she gasped when her skin felt the cool metal slide up her stomach and palm her breast over her bralette. Bucky took the opportunity of her mouth being open to move his tongue inside. Bucky turned and sat down on the couch. He pulled at Y/N to bring her with him, but she stayed standing. Bucky started to protest but quickly stopped when Y/N pulled her top up and over her head. Buckys eyes were glued to her. His pupils were blown out with lust. She was his now, and he wanted her. He reached out and grabbed her hand, yanking her down to straddle him. He kissed her deeply and passionately. Y/N vaguely thought that Josh, any other man, had never kissed her like Bucky was right now. Bucky moved his kisses from her mouth to her jaw and down her neck. When he got to the spot behind her ear. She let out a whimper, and goosebumps broke out over her skin. He smiled, "There's one special spot should we see if we can find any others." Y/N nodded her head, and Bucky started his exploration. He continued to kiss down her neck to her collar bone. He bit hard where the two meet. When he did, Y/N hands tightened and pulled on his hair. Bucky groaned. Y/N laughed and started to say something clever to his response, but all that came out was a moan. Bucky had moved his mouth to the swell of her breast and was leaving hickeys as he went along.
Y/N could feel herself growing wetter and knew that there was a wet spot forming on her panties. She pushed her hips down against his in search of friction and was pleasantly surprised to find his cock hard and straining in his jeans. She did it again but got an unexpected response from Bucky as he pulled her up and almost off of him. "What is wrong?" Y/N said out of breath. "Nothing, doll, but I am trying to go slow and at least semi-sweet here, but if you keep doing that, I won't be able to hold back. Y/N flashed a devilish grin pulling her bralette off and whispering, "Don't." That snapped any restraint Bucky had left. He crushed her to him and laid her down on her back, hovering over her. He bit his lip at the sight of her bare chest in front of him. Between the look in his eyes at seeing her and the excitement she had from seeing how he reacted to her, she was desperate to have him. "Please Buck...ready...please need you..," she whined. "Aww, is my good girl desperate for me. Desperate to have my cock buried in her." Y/N had never been turned on this much before, and he hadn't even touched her yet. "Yes, god, yes, please." He ran his hand down her thigh and back up, sliding it underneath her skirt, and was exploring the edge of her panties when he asked, "Do these mean anything to you?" Y/N was sure that she had been so focused on where his hand was that she hadn't heard him correctly.
"What?" "Do these have any importance to you?" "Um.. no" And with that, Bucky gave them a sharp tug and ripped them off of her. She gasped at the tug and moaned at the realization of what he had just done. God, he was sexy, and she didn't want to wait any longer. She wanted to touch him, see him, and he was still fully dressed. She grabbed the hem of his shirt and tried to pull it off. Bucky got the message sat back on his knees, pulling his shirt off. Y/N almost cam at the mere sight of him above her shirtless. She reached behind her to start unzipping her skirt, but Bucky's hands caught her, "Leave it on. It's damn sexy on you." Y/N squirmed, wanting contact, and Bucky was happy to oblige. He took a long slow look over her entire body and undid his jean, finally giving his cock some relief from the confines of the jeans. Bucky pushed her skirt up just enough so he could have access to her pussy. He watched her eyes roll back as he pushed a finger inside her. He slowly pumped in and out then added a second, saying, "My my my doll. You are ready. Is this all from me?" Y/N couldn't find her words, so she just nodded instead. He felt her squeeze his fingers and knew he had to be in her. He finally pulled his aching hard cock out of his boxers, and Y/N felt her orgasm build at just the sight of it. It was long and thick. Bucky slowly pushed into her, making both of them moan. Finally, he bottomed out and placed a kiss on her nose. "Please, James, please fuck me. Make me yours", Y/N begged.
To her disappointment, though, Bucky didn't move. It had been a very long time since someone had called him James, and the way it made his heart feel coming out of her mouth, he knew they had to be clear. He turned her face to look at his, "Doll, you gotta know if I .. we do this, you are mine. I don't plan on letting you go. Ever." Y/N nodded and smiled, feeling tears prickly in the back of her eyes, realizing that's what she truly wanted as well. Bucky saw what he needed to in her smile and eyes. He lowered and kissed her taking her breath away. Then started to move. He Found a fast and brutal rhythm that had Y/N's orgasm building quickly. Bucky could feel her tightening around his cock, making his own release build quicker. He wanted to make sure she came first, "That's it, doll, feel me deep inside of you." Y/N nodded and whimpered. Bucky wasn't going to be able to wait any longer. "You gotta cum for me, doll. You're mine, so you cum when I tell you to." That did it. Hearing Bucky call her his, she cam for him. Not moments later, Bucky cam as well. They were both out of breathing, and Bucky was resting his forehead on Y/N when they heard Sam say from the hallway, "Listen, I'm delighted y’all are happy but go be happy in your room." They laughed and just continued to lay there.

Tumblr- soft josh (smut)
Topic: 18+ , loving relationship, romantic
Summary: You and Josh are high school sweethearts and have lived together for a few years since graduating.
You sigh, as you go to close your locker at work. Today was Saturday, and Instead of being with josh, you had gotten called into work. It was currently 3pm and you’re gathering your items and walking to your car as you get a call on your phone.
“Hello?” You answered on the first ring.
“Hey baby are you almost home?” You smiled hearing joshs voice, even over the phone he could make you feel giddy. “I’m leaving now, I’ll be home soon. Why is something wrong?”.
You opened your door and started your car, sitting there as he said, “I have a surprise for you, I’ll see you soon”. He didn’t even give you a chance to respond before you heard the call end. You sat your stuff in your passenger seat and drove off to your apartment. About 10 minutes later you arrive, and as you go to unlock the door, you look up to see Josh standing in your doorway with a huge grin on his face. “Hey baby”you said as you walk to him, pecking him on the lips, before walking past to set your things down.
Josh walks over and wraps his arms around your torso, laying his head on your shoulder. “I missed you… you were gone too long”. You smile lightly before turning to kiss his cheek, “well I’m here now”, you turn in his arms so now you’re facing him, “so what’s this surprise you have?”
Josh simply just smiled widely, and led you to the living room. As you saw the room, you felt a sense of warmth in your chest. Sprawled on the floor were tons of pillows and blankets, paired with popcorn, and chocolate on the table in front of the TV. He knew that movie nights were your favorite thing to do together. He was a film connoisseur, but you loved just feeling the emotions of every character, and often felt as they did: laughing, crying, joy.
You turned to josh and gave him a tight hug, and he laughed while rubbing the back of your head. “Thank you joshie… this is really what I was needing”. Without pulling away, he just kissed your head and whispered, “you’re welcome baby, I picked a new movie for us”.
You had never seen this movie before but it was a emotional one. Josh was leaning against the couch, and you were wrapped in his arms, laying against his chest with the blankets covering you both. You felt tears coming to your eyes seeing this girl in the movie, losing someone. It was one of the best moments, being able to sit here with the love of your life, yet you felt so sad seeing this moment on the screen, you felt the pain she felt.
Without realizing, you began to zone out thinking about what you would do if you ever lost Josh. He must have felt your body tense because he leaned down and asked, “you okay, what’s wrong?”. You sat up, and looked at him, “I just….I n-never wanna be without you”, you lowered your head trying to hide the tears forming. This was just embarrassing. Josh suddenly grabbed your chin and lifted it so that he could look you in the eye, “baby…that would never happen. I’m always gonna be here.” You nodded, sniffling, and tried to catch your breathe. “I-I just, I love you josh and I always want to be yours.” He wiped the tear that fell from your eyes, and quickly pulled you into his lap, “I love you y/n. You’ll always be mine, I can’t live without you either.”
You pulled him into a kiss, one that was much deeper and intense than your usual ones. It had so much emotion built behind it. You felt josh wrap his arms around your waist, holding you tightly against him, and in response you wrapped your arms around him, playing with strands of his hair.
You pulled back to catch your breathe, and there was a moment of just staring at each other. “Josh…I-I….”you stuttered over you words, which usually happens when you’re nervous. Josh moved his right hand up to caress your face, running his thumb over your cheek, “yes y/n?”. It felt like a weird question but with the way he was looking at you , with what seemed like all the love in the world, there was nothing you couldn’t tell him. “Will you make love to me?” you grabbed his face and just gave him a quick kiss. You pulled back to look at josh and instead of a verbal answer, he just kissed you, this time much deeper. He ran his hands up and down your torso, making sure to explore every inch of your skin. He slowly moved your tshirt up over your head, tossing it to the side. “Do you wanna move to the bedroom?”josh asked you, pulling away for a moment. As you pulled Josh’s shirt over his head, you said “no, right here”. He nodded and moved you so that you both could slip off your shorts. You took off every piece of clothing till it was just you two. He just looked at you, again, with that look of just pure admiration, “y/n…you’re so beautiful… so gorgeous… I’m so glad you’re mine”. Hearing that sent chills down your spine, you crawled back over to him, sitting on his lap. “And I’m glad you’re mine…always”, as you say this you feel josh lining himself up with you. You slowly lower down until he has filled you up. Compared to your usual fast pace, you decide to take your time. You begin by just slightly rolling your hips, and lean in to give josh a kiss. You can’t help but moan from the sensation, and pull joshs hair by habit. “Baby …you make it so hard to keep control…”, josh says. He grabs you by the waist, and swiftly flips you so that you’re laying on the floor. He looks at you quietly asking for permission to speed up, to which you nod.
He picks up his speed and pace, while also taking his time. With each thrust, you can feel him hitting your g-spot, perfectly each time. He leans down to leave wet kisses all down your neck and chest, leaving marks as he does. “J-josh …I’m c-close” you whimper out unable to think straight. You move your hand down to your clit to relieve some of the pressure, but he stops you. “Let me do that for you beautiful”, and he replaces your hand with his. He is quickly rubbing circles with his thumb , while simultaneously lifting your leg up with his left hand, raising it over his shoulder. “You know I love you right baby?”josh asks you, not slowing down. With your hands fisting the sheets and having shallowed breathes you say , “y-yes, and I-I love you t-too”. He moves your leg back and leans over to put his head in the crook of your neck, “g-god I can’t believe you’re mine.” You put your hand over his head, moaning loudly, feeling those words go straight to your core, “I always have been, you’re made for me joshie”.
Hearing that took both of you over the edge, with the next hard thrust you feel yourself clenching around him, he continues to circle your clit as you come down from your high. You can tell he’s also close so you say, “do it baby, I love you”. And not seconds later does he find his release as well, letting out a grunt so loud the neighbors can probably hear.
He collapses on top of you, and pulls the covers around you both, “I can’t wait for our forever”. You feel your eyes close, as you drift to sleep in his arms and feel him kiss your forehead.

"Accidently ending a phone call with your roommate with a casual ‘I love you’ seems like a very good reason to move out"
For benrey @ gordon?
“And can you pick up some oat milk while you’re there? I just realized I’m out.”
“Man, oat milk freaks me out,” Benrey said, pushing their shopping cart towards the dairy section anyway. “Like, do oats even have, uh. Others?”
“Others?” There was a beat of silence as Gordon attempted to figure out exactly what the hell Benrey was talking about. “You mean udders?”
“Yeah. Cow things.”
“Dude, that’s not how oat milk works.” Gordon’s laugh made Benrey’s cheap phone speakers crackle.
“Then how does it work? Huh? Mister scientician?” Benrey propped the phone between their ear and shoulder as they opened the fridge door to grab the brand of oat milk he knew Gordon liked.
“I don’t fucking know! I’m not a goddamn milk scientist.” Even through a phone call, Benrey could hear the smile on Gordon’s face. “They squeeze juice out of the oats or smush them into a paste or something. I don’t know. Stop making me think about how oat milk works, it’s going to make me not want to drink it anymore.”
“Cool, so I’ll buy milk with extra lactose then.”
“You will not, unless you wanna deal with me laying on the couch complaining all afternoon because my stomach hurts.”
“You do that anyway.”
“Fuck off, man.” Gordon’s tone of voice didn’t carry any bite to it. “Alright, I gotta go, I’m almost at the end of the queue to pick Joshie up. I’ll see you back at home, okay?”
“Mhm. Love you, bye.” Benrey hung up and shoved their phone back in their jacket pocket. They unfolded the shopping list and attempted to decipher the mix of their own chicken scratch, Gordon’s doctor handwriting, and the occasional misspelled request for snacks in Joshua’s six year old handwriting. Okay, they had to get those frozen chicken nuggets Joshua liked, another pack of seltzer, a can of black beans since Gordon was planning to cook dinner tonight-
Thinking about Gordon made them suddenly freeze in place as they realized what they’d just done. Did… Did they just say “love you” on the phone with Gordon?
Aw, fuck.
They’d been living with Gordon for a while now. It hadn’t always been an easy thing for either of them. When they’d been freshly respawned, both of them had been jumpy around each other at best, and at worst, they were at each other’s throats trying to kill each other. It took a long time and a lot of uncomfortable conversations for them to get to the point where they could interact without an unbearable amount of tension. From there, they were able to start rebuilding an actual friendship. Turns out, they got along a lot better when they weren’t in mortal danger. Who knew!
Living with Gordon involved a lot of rules, both spoken and unspoken. They involved stuff like “don’t ask weird questions about Gordon’s feet,” “if one of them gets too angry, walk it off instead of actually fighting,” and “no gross body horror in front of Gordon’s son.” It also involved shit like “please for the love of god don’t put empty juice cartons back in the fridge” and “don’t stain the carpets with Sweet Voice, this is a rental and that security deposit is worth getting back.” So far, Benrey hadn’t had too much trouble following the rules. They had been a security guard, after all; following rules was supposed to be their thing. Besides, they were a low price to pay to get to spend time with Gordon.
One of those early unspoken rules, however, had been “keep the flirting to a minimum.” That one had been a little tricky at first, but it had been necessary, especially back when they still weren’t on the best of terms. Benrey learned that when Gordon was already worked up, blowing a kiss did the opposite of diffusing the situation. This was news to Benrey. Who didn’t love a little kiss from their buddies? Lame.
That had been an early rule, though, and one that had kind of faded into the background over time. The longer they lived together, the more physically affectionate they both got, and a little domesticity is only to be expected when you share a household. It was nice. Comfortable.
And then Benrey had to go and say “I love you” on the phone. What the fuck.
That had to be crossing a line, right? Gordon was fine with some handholding and some cuddling and they’d make dinner together once a week, but this had to be pushing it.
Benrey went through the rote motions of buying the rest of their groceries without really paying attention, too busy panicking. There was only one option. They had to move out. This was fine. This was totally fine. They could just crash on Tommy’s couch until they find a place of their own because there was no way this wasn’t going to make Gordon freak the fuck out. As much as they loved fucking with Gordon, they’d learned there was the fun kind of freaking him out and the bad kind of freaking him out. They were fairly certain this fell into the bad category.
By the time that they were walking up to their apartment door, they were already mentally packing up all their things, resigned to their fate. They were so stuck in their own head that Joshua barreling into their legs when they opened the door actually startled them.
“Benny!” Joshua cheered, clinging to their jeans.
“Hey, li’l dude.” Benrey carefully tried to push past the kid without tripping over him on the way to the kitchen. Tragically, that’s where Gordon also happened to be.
“Hey, what took you so long?” Gordon asked, taking some of the grocery bags from them. “I thought you’d gotten lost in Costco again.”
Benrey grunted noncommittally and started putting away groceries instead of answering Gordon. Maybe if they didn’t look at him, they could avoid confronting whatever Gordon’s reaction was. Yeah, definitely, this seemed like a sustainable, reasonable decision to make. Yep.
“Dude.” Gordon’s hand suddenly appeared on their forearm. Benrey stared at it, then looked up at Gordon’s concerned face. “Are you okay?”
“Huh?”
“You’re putting carrots in the utensil drawer.”
Benrey looked down at their hands again. Oh. So they were.
“You’ve been acting weird ever since you got back from the store,” Gordon said, gently taking the carrots away from them. “Did something happen? You wanna talk about it?”
Benrey screwed their mouth up. No, they didn’t want to talk about it, but learning how to talk through things like adults was something they both had agreed to do. That had been a rule introduced by an exasperated Tommy, sick of mediating their bullshit. So, they sighed and looked away while Gordon put the carrots in the vegetable drawer of the fridge. “I was thinking about how I’ve gotta move out.”
“What?” Gordon stood up too fast and smacked his head on the freezer door. He swore loudly, and Benrey reached over to hand him a bag of frozen peas to put on the back of his head. “Thanks. But also, what? Since when are you moving out?”
“Uh, since now?” Benrey said, confused. Shouldn’t it be obvious?
“Why?”
“‘Cause I said I love you on the phone? Dummy? You, uh, a fucking old man got bad brain disease, not remembering things?” They said, defaulting to picking on Gordon to avoid focusing on anything else. Gordon stared blankly at them for a moment, then, against all odds, a grin spread across his face.
“Benrey,” He said, and Benrey decided he didn't like that tone one bit, “Are you embarrassed?”
“Whuh? No.” There was no way they could be embarrassed. That definitely wasn't what was going on here. Nope. Not a bit, “...Maybe.”
“Dude, you don't have to be embarrassed about that.” Gordon laughed. “Do you know how often I've said stupid Freudian slips? I called my sixth grade teacher mom once and wanted to change my name and move to Canada. I've been there.”
“It wasn't, uh… It wasn't too much? Not crossing a line or anything?”
“Nah, man. It was kinda sweet.” Gordon flashed him a smile and finished putting away the last of the groceries.
“Cool.” Benrey relaxed, letting go of the tension that had been building in their shoulders. “That's good ‘cause I was gonna fight you for custody of your Xbox.” Gordon snorted.
“Good fucking luck, you’re too much of a Playstation guy to win that case.”
The evening passed relatively uneventfully from there. Gordon enlisted Benrey’s help in cooking dinner, and Joshua eagerly told them all about the cool dinosaur facts he’d learned in class that day. They went through the easy routine of watching just one episode (which of course always turned into several episodes) of Joshua’s choice of TV, then Benrey helped wash up in the kitchen while Gordon put Josh to bed. Gordon joined them as they finished washing dishes and squeezed Benrey’s shoulder affectionately when they were done.
“Alright, man, I think I’m gonna head to bed early tonight.”
Benrey nodded. “Cool. I’ll be quiet.”
“Don’t worry about it. G’night, dude.”
“Night, Gordon.”
“Oh, and Benrey?” Gordon paused in the doorway of his bedroom and waited until Benrey glanced up at him. Gordon smiled. “Love you too.”
He shut the door before Benrey could respond, leaving Benrey to stare blankly at the door. They let out a groan, careful not to wake Joshua. Oh, Gordon was going to be the death of them.

Author’s Note: This can be seen as a sequel to ‘Hug’ or it can be read on it’s own!
yeah i was a little excited that you guys wanted this one lol I don’t know if you can tell. I’ve seen this movie enough, it was about time I did something within the events of the film. I also referred to the script so some of the lines will be familiar! I hope you all enjoy!
Requested: by anon, omg your pelle fic wow; would you consider doing a sequel to it that either takes place during the events of the film or just before they arrive at Pelle's commune?
Requested: by anon, I would LOVEEE to see a sequel with pelle cause that was a pretty good fix and I think he deserves a bit more attention, I personally would like to see something happen during the events of the movie just because I think it would be interesting to see but that's just me
I don’t own these characters. They belong to author/director/creator

“You think that Pelle asked you to go just because I’m going?” Dani asked, messing with her fingers. You were standing beside your bed, packing your suitcase slowly. Dani had already packed; she didn’t like to be unprepared.
“I don’t know...maybe he thought you would enjoy yourself more.”
“You’re acting like I’m the one who’s been dating him for these couple of months,” she told you. She was sitting on the bed, looking up at you. You nodded a bit, putting another pile of clothes inside.
“I know. I guess I’m just nervous. Meeting his whole group, going to where he grew up. I mean. I really like him. What if I fuck it up?” She shook her head and reached over to grab your arm. You looked her in the eyes.
“He really likes you. I can’t remember the last time Christian looked at me the way that Pelle looks at you.” Her eyes were honest. It made you feel bad. You should have gotten her to break up with Christian when you got the chance. But it was too late now; you were all going to Sweden.
“I suppose you’re right. Per usual.” She smiled weakly.
“Finish packing.”
=======
Pelle almost wanted to tell you about the whole thing. When he was on the plane, it crossed his mind to let you in on the whole scheme of things. The May Queen, the festival, all of it.
But he bit his tongue. That was tradition.
You arrived in Sweden well and took the trek up to where the first stop was. It was beautiful. Truly, it was stunning.
Pelle held your hand the whole way until you arrived at the first spot. There were people around the grassy hills, scattered around. Pelle got out of the car.
“These are other people from America that my friends have brought!” he exclaimed. He gestured to the many people around. You looked around, gazing at the nice afternoon. He grabbed your arm and started to drag you along.
“Hey, don’t rip it off!” you joked and he eased up.
“Sorry, I’m quite excited!” You smiled sweetly at his happiness.
“Me too!” He approached some people and started to introduce them when a man behind you started to yell. You turned around quickly, surprised at the loud noise. Pelle turned around too and his smile only grew.
“If you’ll excuse me,” he said and then ran over to the approaching man. They embraced each other, hugging tightly.
“Everyone, this is my brother Ingemar. Ingemar this is Christian, Dani, Mark, Josh and my girlfriend, Y/N,” Pelle said. Ingemar followed where Pelle pointed, shaking hands with everyone. He paid special attention to you, his smile getting wider. You could tell that he and Pelle were related.
“Nice to meet you all. This is Simon and Connie from London,” he said, gesturing to the others behind him. “Simon and Connie this is Pelle and...all the names I just remembered two seconds ago,” Ingemar said laughing. Simon and Connie said hello. “Perfect timing by the way.”
Ingemar pulled out a bag of mushrooms from his pocket. Your eyes went wide.
“We just took these five minutes ago. Haven’t even started feeling the effects yet,” he explained.
“Oh shit!” Mark said, happily.
“Do you all want to take it now or should we get settled in?” Pelle asked.
“Fuck it, let’s take it now!” Mark said. You weren’t too sure about that. You trusted Pelle and everyone of course but in the new environment...it rubbed you the wrong way. Thankfully, Dani turned to speak to Christian about it.
“I think I want to get settled in first.” Christian was about to speak but you cut him off.
“Me too. You guys go and have fun, we’ll keep each other company,” you said. Pelle turned to you.
“Are you sure? I assure you it’s safe,” he said in a soft voice. You smiled kindly and put a gentle hand on his arm.
“I know! I just wanna get settled. Dani and I can handle ourselves, I promise.” He gave you a longer look, just to check that you were alright and then nodded. You turned back to Dani who grabbed your arm desperately.
“Thank you,” she whispered. You nodded.
“No thank you.”
=====
It wasn’t until the next day, Dani’s birthday, that you were able to get on further. You and Dani played some card games that you had brought with you while you waited for the effects to wear off for everyone else.
Christian came over to sleep beside Dani, still high. Pelle came over to you and braided your hair and then unbraided your hair, making very long sentences that didn’t make sense to whisper in your ear.
But when you arrived at the commune it was bright and sunny. Pelle rushed around, hugging people and introducing you and the group to everyone. You were able to get some blankets to sit on the grass, while everyone got their things together.
There was a group of girls dancing around in circles, wearing all white.
“You should go join,” Pelle suggested, gesturing to you and Dani. She shook her head a bit.
“Oh no, I’m too scared,” Dani said sheepishly. You nodded in agreement.
“Maybe another time.” Christian stood up.
“Hey can I join…” he started turning to Pelle.
“You’re American. Just jam yourself in,” he said. Christian nodded and walked away. “I think I’ll join him,” Simon said and was quickly followed by the rest of the group except you, Pelle and Dani. There was a moment of silence as you watched them go.
“Hey, just real quick,” Pelle said, digging for something in his pocket. He took out two pieces of paper and handed them to you and Dani. You both opened them to reveal gorgeously drawn pictures of yourselves wearing flower crowns. “For you Dani, think of it as a birthday present. For you Y/N, I imagine it’s a thank you present.”
“Oh Pelle,” Dani said. “It’s beautiful, thank you.”
“Thank you for what?” you asked, brushing your finger over it. He smiled and shrugged.
“Just a thank you.”
“Well thank you for it,” you said. “I got Dani a new sweater. Christian forgot.” Pelle raised his eyebrow and you shared a look.
“I forgot to tell him...it’s my fault,” Dani explained. You shook your head.
“I tend to disagree,” you muttered. You folded the picture back up and put it in your pocket. You put your head on Pelle’s shoulders “But I think Christian is rude.”
“Perhaps you are too judgemental,” Pelle mused. “But I tend to agree with you regardless.” You and Dani laughed a bit. “We should probably go and catch up with them in case they get lost.”
=====
You got settled in in one of the large buildings, plenty of beds against the walls. Pelle was on the bed to your right while Dani slept on the one to your left.
“All right, beauty rest! Tomorrow’s a big day!” Pelle announced. You had one of the books you had brought open on your lap but you looked up at him.
“What’s tomorrow?” you asked.
“First of the big cerinomines,” he said mysteriously.
“So you’re just going to be weird and cryptic?” Josh asked, laughing a bit. Pelle pauses and then took Josh's notebook, writing something inside. You made an attempt to look but it was not a word that you recognized.
“What’s that?” Christian questioned. Pelle shrugged and laid down in his bed. You faced him, on the bed beside him.
“What is it?” you whispered to him. He gave you a teasing smile.
“It’s hard to explain.”
“I will come over there and tickle it out of you,” you threatened. He chuckled and turned around so he wasn’t facing you. But he put his arm back behind him, reaching across the space between your two beds.
You grabbed it and rubbed his knuckles anxiously.
=====
There was a very odd breakfast the next day but you tried not to judge. You wanted to really appreciate Pelle’s culture and understand it. He had admired you for your understanding and he knew you would make an effort.
That’s why he chose to love you.
You were the obvious choice.
After that you walked out to a cliffside where most of the people were already out and lined up. You were curious to find complete silence. Everyone was silent as it happened and you were able to do nothing but watch as these two elderly people stood up on top of the cliff.
When the first person, a woman, jumped, you grabbed Pelle, putting your hand in front of your mouth. He grabbed you and wrapped his arms around you but it didn’t change the look of serenity on his face.
Simon was standing next to Ingemar yelling as the man approached the cliffside.
You had your face in Pelle’s arms. You were shaking.
“It is the way of life,” he whispered to you. Simon was still screaming. Another elder was talking to him and you could feel Pelle want to move toward them but he stayed beside you. “It is our way of recycling them and their gifts.”
You pulled away from him and shook your head a bit. You met Dani’s eyes. She wasn’t showing much emotion other than shock. You didn’t blame her.
“They’re dead,” you whispered. He nodded and put his hands on your upper arms.
“And it is an honor to have died that way.” You weren’t sure how to feel. You wanted to be understanding, to try and understand him and his ways. You would want that from him. But he should have prepared you more for that.
You walked over to Dani and walked beside her on the way back to the houses.
=====
“I’m leaving,” Dani said.
“I don’t blame you.” She was already packing a bag. You sat down on your bed, head in your hands. You took a deep breath and leaned back on the bed.
“Are you coming with me?” she asked. Her voice was shaking. She was clearly shaken up by all of this.
“No,” you muttered. “I’m not leaving Pelle yet.”
“Not even after that?” Her voice was quiet but it was urgent. You shook your head a bit.
“I just have to talk to him. He should have warned us more, of course but....it’s what he’s been raised to believe is normal. I don’t think I should think of it as a bad thing.”
“We just watched people die!” You stood up off the bed and put your hands on your upper arms, steading her.
“You can go home and I will not blame you. In the slightest. I just think I should stay longer,” you told her. She nodded solemnly. She took a deep breath in through her nostrils and nodded again.
=====
Before bed that night Pelle approached you. You were standing outside of the bed house, leaning against it to try and clear your thoughts. You almost completely ignored him but in the end you locked eyes with him as he approached.
“I’m sorry I didn’t give you adequate warning,” he said sympathetically. He grabbed your hand and held it. “I thought you would understand but I know now that it was wrong of me to assume.” You shook your head quickly.
“I understand it was just...a shock,” you muttered. He nodded and kissed your forehead softly.
“You are completely safe here. I want you to know that.” He looked you in the eyes when he said it. You believed him. You nodded back and gestured to the house.
“Let’s get some shut eye huh? And maybe warn me if we see another person...you know.” You made a slicing gesture across your neck. He laughed gently and nodded, placing a hand on the small of your back and leading you inside.
=====
Dani walked up to you, still distraught but less so. You were standing beside Pelle the next day as he kneeled in front of the ground picking some vegetables. You turned to her as she walked up, ready to handle whatever she was about to throw at you.
“Hey,” you said, taking the step away from Pelle and toward her.
“Hi. Did you see Simon left without Connie?” she asked. You raised an eyebrow and shook your head.
“Seriously? What a dick.” She clearly felt a little bit off put by it so you lowered your voice. “You think it’s weird?” Dani nodded a bit.
“I don’t know...it’s a little weird. They seemed so close.” You nodded. They did seem close.
“I don’t know...something to keep in mind I suppose.” She nodded quickly in agreement.
======
Dinner that night was simple pastries. You were pleased. The last food they had given you wasn’t your kind of taste. You sat between Pelle and Dani again.
“Have you seen Connie?” Dani asked you quietly. You shook your head.
“Excuse me but I know what happened,” a man sitting beside Mark said. “Her boyfriend called the landline from the train station. She begged us to drive her so we took her down to the station.” You nodded slowly, glancing at Pelle. He shrugged, seemingly in agreement.
“Why would Simon leave without her?” you asked quietly.
“I can see you doing that,” Dani muttered at Christian. You wanted to laugh so you turned to Pelle, sneaking a smile. He shrugged with a smile on his face also.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Christian asked.
“Nevermind.”
“You wouldn’t do that,” Pelle said quietly, so only you could hear. You ate a bite of the pastry proudly.
“You’re damn right.”
======
One of the important books was stolen that night. They announced it at breakfast.
“Where is your friend Josh?” one of the elders asked, after breakfast. You, Christian, Dani and Pelle all stood in front of the two elders, caught like a deer in headlights.
“I know. We have no idea,” Christian said.
“He and your other friend disappear in the same day. You understand how that looks.”
“Yes obviously, but we swear to you we are not a part of this,” Christian said. Dani shuffled a bit.
“We did see Mark go off with one of the girls last night,” she said.
“Which girl?”
“Inga,” Pelle said.
“But Mark wouldn’t have done this. Josh, though, he came to bed with us, and when we woke up, he was gone. And if he did take that book, I just pray you understand we do not identify as friends of his, or collaborators, or anything. I certainly don't vouch for him and we'd be so embarrassed to be connected to this in any way,” Christian explained.
“I feel responsible,” Pelle said. The elders nodded a bit.
“Well you and Odd can go looking. Perhaps you can redeem them,” one of the elders said. You didn’t want Pelle to leave. You didn’t like it when you were separated here. You believed him when he said you were safe but...it was still a little odd. “You two will be going with the women for the day’s activity,” he said to you and Dani. “And Siv asks to see you in her house,” she said to Christian.
You glanced at Pelle as he left. He grabbed your hand and squeezed it, almost saying ‘do well!’.
=====
You and Dani got dressed in white shirts with flower crowns. It made you a tad bit nervous but at least you had her.
She gestured to the drink they were handing out. Cups had been given to both of you to drink it.
“Can I ask what’s in this?” Dani asked one of the girls.
“It’s...tea for the dancing competition.” You raised an eyebrow but took a glass anyway. Dani looked back at you and you shrugged.
“I’ll beat you,” you muttered.
“Try me.”
You both took drinks of the tea.
Your head became fuzzy the second it hit your throat. You hadn’t taken those drugs before hand and you almost didn’t want to do it now but it was already done. Your feet were moving along with the girls, tossing bodies left and right it felt like.
You lost sight of Dani very quickly.
You were running and jumping and laughing until the elder lady yelled to stop then you kept dancing.
Dancing, dancing, dancing, dancing.
Dancing.
It seemed to go on forever. Your mind was hazed, your head hurt, your glances were so quick they gave you whiplash. You were smiling brightly when they announced they were down to the final eight. You finally saw Dani again, in the eight with you.
All of the fallen dancers had sat off on the side. You saw Christian, looking hilariously out of place. And Pelle.
Your heart swelled with love for Pelle. You could barely know anything else for a moment as you stared at him.
You couldn’t see it but in that moment, Dani believed she learned how much she hated Christian.
Then more dancing.
People were speaking and then it was just you and Dani, holding hands, dancing around in a circle, tired and out of breath. She stared at you and a smile went over her face as she held your hand.
And then she tripped. You stopped dancing and someone ran up to you, putting their hands on your shoulder.
“It’s over?” you asked.
“You are our May Queen!” they yelled. You were still hazzed. Each face looked the same. The people running up to you were strangers but you felt nothing but warmth for them. They placed a different flower crown atop your head.
Pelle ran up to you smiling brightly.
“Wow! May Queen, my love!” he said, giving you a strong kiss, both his hands resting on your cheeks. You were smiling brightly and then he was gone. You didn’t want him to go.
They carried you on a platform to a dinner table where you sat at the head, Dani beside you and Pelle on the other side as usual.
One of the elders stood at the end of the dinner.
“Now it is traditional for the May Queen to bless our crops and livestock. And after the luck you just inherited from that salt herring, we should all be doubly encouraged.” You looked around nervously.
“Can Pelle come with me?”
“No. The Queen must ride alone.”
You were starting to come to your own and realize how crazy this all was. How did you get here? How would you get out of here? You found yourself hoping you didn’t get out of here though. This felt like home. Some form of home. As you walked to the carriage you saw a glimpse of the pride on Pelle’s face.
It made you immensely happy.
======
They made you do a ritual in Swedish and you did your best with the limited knowledge of the language you knew. You went to Siv’s house, where she blessed you. You wondered where Dani was. You hoped she was alright. You should have let her become the May Queen. You should have let her win, just so you knew she was alright.
The women left you alone for only a moment where they ushered Pelle into the house with all of the beds where you were. He was still smiling that bright smile as he rushed up to you, hugging you tightly to him.
“You have no idea the amount of honor and pride you have brought to me. I am so very proud of you,” he said, cupping your cheeks. You tried not to get too flustered with your smile in return.
“So I get my picture up on that wall?” you questioned. He nodded pleasantly.
“Yes you will!” He kissed you passionately and you let him, allowing him to dip you a bit. “And you will be allowed to stay here, with the family.”
You didn’t even react. You didn’t feel the need to.
“With you?”
“Yes of course. You will be mine and I will be yours.”
You nodded happily.
“Where is Dani?” you asked.
“She is alright, she’s with the other women preparing. She is also going to stay.” You wanted to laugh of joy with that. “It is time for the final of the ceremonies,” he told you. “You will finally be able to give Christian what you think he deserves, if you wish it.”
He placed an even larger flower crown atop your head.
“And a dress as well, to fit a Queen.”
He gestured to the large flower dress in the room you hadn’t even noticed. He kissed you once more.
“It is time for the final ceremony. I’ll help you put on the dress. Are you ready?” he asked. He looked at you patiently. You nodded.
“Yes, I am.”

Back Off: Jake x Reader
A/N: I have writer’s block for part two of the twin’s fight sooo enjoy this one shot until then :)
Your management teams had decided it was a good idea for your band to collaborate with Greta Van Fleet. At first, you all had agreed until it became apparent that you and Jake would never get along. The first week went by pretty well as you all worked on lyrics and different songs, giving each other feedback. When you made a suggestion about a riff Jake was working on, he rolled his eyes and ignored you entirely. You didn’t let it bother you and tried to let it roll off your back, but the thought the Jake wasn’t impressed by your talent or valued your input bothered you a bit.
At the start of the next week, your band recorded an EP track to see how you liked it. After you had finished, all of you sat down to talk through what could be done to improve it and make it award worthy. The constructive process was going well until Sam complimented your riff. Before you could offer your thanks, Jake let out a small sarcastic laugh before leaning back.
“What,” you said with a touch of venom as you narrowed your eyes at him. Not being one to back down from a challenge he returned the glare and licked his lips before speaking.
“Nothing,” Jake said with a dismissive shrug of his shoulders before stretching his arms along the back of the couch he was sitting on, Josh on his left and Danny to his right. Your band mates shared looks of confusion with the other boys at the stare down they were all witnessing.
“Nothing,” you questioned with a lift of your brow matching his energy.
“Yeah. That riff? Made me feel nothing. That was just music on a page.”
Stunned silence filled the room and everyone’s mouths dropped open at the sudden and rude comment. Your mind started racing.
That riff wasn’t there until you had all performed today. In fact, it was a completely organic composition. You didn’t know how to write a riff and you couldn’t even read fucking sheet music. You only knew how to play.
Before you could stop yourself, you were on your feet and so was Jake. Both of you were yelling at each other and really giving each other hell. Finally, the rest of the group got you separated, but the damage had already been done.
The fighting didn’t stop as a whole, but after Danny lost his shit, the yelling eventually did. You both still found the time to be sarcastic assholes and refused to work together unless absolutely forced. On the rare occasions you two didn’t try to kill each other, whatever you came up with was pretty cool, but those moments were short lived. After about a month of the group collaboration, your management teams informed all of you that they had lined up an interview and stressed the importance of it.
“We know some of you...don’t see eye to eye,” your manager, Kara, said carefully while everyone looked directly at you and Jake,”but you’re going to be in partners for this interview and we’re grouping you based on instrument.”
“See, vocals are an instrument Sam,” Josh taunted while his youngest brother rolled his eyes.
You and Jake shared a pained look at the thought of having to sit near each other.
“Do we have to get along during the interview,” you asked as you flipped your hair over your shoulder.
“Yes. You do. So, Josh and Kaylie will go first on Friday. Sammi and Sammy will go next. Then, Danny and Elise. We’ll finish up with y/n and Jake. The interviews should only be 5-10 minutes, so please refrain from killing each other,” Mike, the other manager said. You and Jake shared another look; one that clearly said there were no promises.
The week flew by and next thing you knew, you were sitting in a hair and makeup chair getting finishing touches done. All of your other friends had finished and based off their laughter, it seemed to have went really well. Apparently, your Sammi and Greta Van Fleet’s Sammy were pure chaos which didn’t surprise any of you. It must have had something to do with the name you supposed.
Once you had finished up, you made your way to the chair next to Jake who was waiting on you and apparently trying hard to not look impatient. When he saw you, his eyes widened a bit before he motioned to your seat. Once you had gotten comfortable, he sat down.
“Sorry,” you said to him quietly. This was actually the first time you two had sat next to each other and you could smell his cologne and shampoo. He was an ass to you, but you couldn’t deny that he was attractive. But his attitude? Atrocious.
You fidgeted slightly in your seat to get comfortable for the interview. Suddenly, you both heard the countdown to cue you in and you both began to smile and do the intro.
“Hi! I’m y/f/n y/l/n!”
“And I’m Jake Kiszka!”
“This is our Rockin and Rolling Interview,” you two chorused together. Apparently, you two could be a dynamic duo when you tried hard enough.
The interviewer started asking various questions about stage outfits, hair and makeup, new albums and tour dates which were pretty typical interview topics. You and Jake played your parts and were both equally surprised at your shared sense of humor. You were enjoying yourself when the prying questions started.
When the interview started, you didn’t really notice that weird glimmer in the male interviewer’s eyes or the way he stared at your exposed legs or where the hem of your shorts hit on your thighs. Jake had noticed that a lot of the questions were directed more towards you and he figured it was just to help your band get out there more. More importantly, none of the others had mention weird vibes or the guy being a creep, but you couldn’t deny that you were inexplicably uncomfortable.
“So, y/n, what is it like being single and working with the guys,” the interviewer asked. Your back went ramrod straight as you realized you were cruising in dangerous territory. Jake glanced at you out of the corner of his eye.
“What does her relationship status have to do with anything,” Jake asked with his eyes narrowed slightly in confusion and the beginning stages of irritability. The next few questions were about zodiac sign compatibility and other flirtatious avenues of discussion and you were finally 100% sure that he was making you uncomfortable. At one point he had asked for how many people you had slept with.
“I’m sorry, but I’m not comfortable answering such personal questions. I think I’m-,” you began to say as you stood up to place the microphone down. Before you could even fully raise out of your set, the interviewer had grabbed you by your arm and yanked your body towards his. You let out a yelp as a warm muscular body wedged itself between you and the weird ass interviewer.
Jake placed a protective hand on your stomach and pushed you back gently putting more space between you and who he perceived as a threat. Without thinking, you put your hand in the middle of his back, right on his spine as you scooted further behind him.
“Back off,” Jake growled out with a scowl. Before the guy could respond, Jake spun to face you, placing his hand in the small of your back before leading you away. You were shaking and tears pricked at your lower lash line, but you willed yourself not to cry.
When you two had made it back to the makeup room where you had all gotten ready, everyone jumped up when they say the look on both of your faces. Kara and Mike tried to ask questions as you grabbed your things, clearly ignoring them.
“We’re leaving right now and that interview had better not fucking air,” Jake practically yelled as he fumed. You two could hear the male interviewer approaching the room you all were in and Jake turned to face the door quickly, blocking you from his view.
“Get him away from her or I’m going to rock his fucking shit. We’re leaving. Now.”
Nobody else held up your mad dash for the SUV outside waiting and already running. Once you were safely secure between, Jake and Josh in the middle row you put your head in your hands while questions flew your way.
“What happened?!”
“Y/n, are you okay?”
“Why were you going to deck him, Jake,” Danny finally questioned and everyone sat in stunned silence that Jake had threatened to hurt someone over you. You were still shaken up and felt a sense of relief when Jake took over telling the story.
All you could really think about was his hand in the small of your back and hot he looked pissed. Even more than that, the first feelings of fondness for Jake danced in your stomach. It felt a lot like butterflies.

Gordon looks down at the half-eaten pizza, his appetite almost completely gone. He was initially suspicious of it- as much as he trusted Tommy, he had no idea what Mr. Coolatta’s intentions were. But after seeing everyone else dig in (well, everyone who had made it out of the boss battle alive), he let himself give in. It was horrible, but horrible in the way that most Chuck E. Cheese pizza generally is. Mr. Coolatta pulled out all the stops for this one, huh?
He sighs, gently nudging his paper plate away. He’s not really sure what to do. He doubts Mr. Coolatta would react well to being asked when they could leave- he seems really protective of his son.
Gordon decides to get some fresh air. Quietly pushing in his chair, he sneaks away from the group, Mr. Coolatta and Bubby seemingly distracting by a story Dr. Coomer was telling from the Engineering department.
He breathes a sigh of relief once the door closes behind him. He looks up at the sky as he slides down the wall. It’s strikingly beautiful, yet chilling. It’s a sky Gordon’s never seen before, with a large spiral galaxy, that definitely wasn’t the Milky Way, taking up much of it. Planets upon planets and stars upon stars that Gordon couldn’t recognize.
“That’s Andromeda o- up there, by the way.”
Gordon jolts, feeling his heart rate spike, before laughing. “Tommy, don’t scare me like that, man. Kinda still on edge.”
“Oh-” Tommy covers his mouth. “I’m sorry, Mr. Freeman, I thought you knew I was out here.”
Gordon waves him off. “It’s not a big deal. Just- Thought I should let you know.” Tommy nods. “Andromeda’s a lot bigger than I remember.”
“Mmhm! I told my dad once that Andromeda w- is my favorite galaxy. And after that, he always made sure Andromeda was the biggest thing in the night sky in his pocket dimensions.”
“That’s… honestly pretty sweet.”
Tommy nods, sitting down next to Gordon. “My Dad’s a good guy, even if he is pretty weird sometimes. Though I guess I can’t talk.”
“I don’t think you’re weird, Tommy.”
Tommy looks at him in disbelief.
“Mr. Freeman, I wouldn’t be so sure-”
“Listen, we’ve got a lab grown human, a man who’s been cloned, like, 1000 times, and then there’s you. I don’t think the identity of your dad makes you weird.”
Tommy looks like he wants to say something, but seemingly decides against it. Instead, he decides on a simple “Thank you.”
The two sit in silence for a few moments, staring up into the night sky.
“Did something happen at the party?” Tommy asks. “I hope my dad wasn’t being weird about the Chuck E. Cheese debate-thing.”
Gordon shakes his head. “No, I just needed some fresh air. Gordon sensory overload time was coming up, I could feel it. Wasn’t that hungry either.”
Tommy nods. “I understand. That… happens to me too. The only reason I could handle the arcade inside is because my dad makes the machines quieter-” He frowns and scrunches his nose. “But you don’t want to hear about all that.” He waves him off.
And there it is.
It’s a pattern Gordon’s noticed throughout their time in Black Mesa. Every time Tommy seemed like he was about to express any negative emotion, he’d change the subject and say something about Gordon not wanting to hear it.
So he takes a chance.
“But what if I do want to hear it?”
That wasn’t the answer Tommy seemed to be expecting.
“I mean- there’s not much more to it. It’s just me not e- liking loud noises. Nothing all that interesting.”
“It’s not about it being interesting, Tommy. You don’t have to dismiss your own feelings.” Tommy looks at him, his eyebrows furrowed in an unsure look. “You’ve been, like, my emotional rock throughout Black Mesa. You’ve gotta let me return the favor.”
“I d- really don’t want you to think any less of me.”
“Why would I?”
Tommy looks away from Gordon. “I’ve learned from experience, Mr. Freeman. There isn’t r- any way for someone like me to be upset without being treated like a child throwing a tantrum. And then they talk about you like you’re not even in the room-”
Oh.
Unfortunately, the experience is all-too-familiar to Gordon.
“I’ve gotten the same shit- it’s awful.”
“You... have? I never thought that of you- I mean, anyone in your situation might- would be a little on edge.”
“I mean, even before the Black Mesa incident. People would either use kiddie gloves around me or flat out tell me I was overreacting whenever I was slightly upset. So I do somewhat get it, and you don’t need to expect anything like that from me.”
Tommy nods, a small smile beginning to form. It’s a very nice smile- No, Gordon, now is not the time for gay thoughts.
“And I know I shouldn’t have let them win, and I really did try to not give in, but it just got so ti- exhausting going to work everyday with people who saw you as an overgrown child.” Tommy brings his knees to his chest and rests his head on them.
“I mean, I don’t think you ‘should’ have done anything in that situation.” Gordon shrugs. “I don’t think making a statement is worth more than making things bearable for you. It’s not your job to ‘show them who’s boss’.”
“Mm,” Tommy hums, taking his right arm off of his legs and putting it in between them. “It just doesn’t sit right with me that I ba- essentially taught them that that behavior works.”
Gordon gives his hand a comforting squeeze. “You didn’t teach them anything. They were shitty people to begin with, and even if you refused to ‘give in’, I doubt they would’ve changed their minds. You just would’ve been even more miserable.” He feels Tommy shift his hand so their fingers are intertwined. Don’t blush, don’t blush, don’t blush- “If you don’t mind me asking, couldn’t you have told your dad about it? He doesn’t seem like the type to let that slide.”
Tommy shakes his head. “He’s not, but…” he trails off. “Listen, my dads a go- great guy. If I had told him about how I was being treated at work he probably would’ve… either got them fired, at the very least, or have locked them in a void for who knows how long to ‘teach them a lesson’.” Gordon can’t tell if that’s a joke or not- from what little he knows about Mr. Coolatta, it probably isn’t. “But I’m a 37 year old man. My dad wants to protect me from the world, and I don’t really blame him for that, but I need to fight my own battles. I’m not going to be the kind of person that calls their dad at the first sign of danger.”
Gordon nods, brushing his thumb across Tommy’s hand. He understands where Tommy’s coming from. As a father himself, it’s been very hard to ignore his immediate impulse to protect Joshua from anything that could potentially harm him. He can’t imagine what it’ll be like a few years from now when there are dangers Gordon couldn’t protect Josh from even if he did try. “I can’t blame you for that. But I hope that line of logic hasn’t lead to you refusing to ask anyone else for help.”
“Well…”
“Tommy.”
“I’m gonna start trying to change that behavior, I swear!” Tommy laughs, doing an ‘x’ sign over his heart.
“Besides, considering the whole Resonance Cascade thing, I doubt your shitty ex-coworkers will be able to be shitty to anyone else.”
Tommy laughs, shaking his head. “You’re right about that, Mr. Freeman-”
“You can call me Gordon, you know.”
“I- Are you sure?”
“I think, after everything we’ve been through together, we’re well past the awkward coworkers stage of friendship.”
“I mean, if you’re sure about that… Gordon.” Never before had hearing his name filled him with more joy. “But… I don’t know. It’s st- silly, but I still feel bad that they died? Even though they were awful to me.”
Gordon shakes his head. “I don’t think it’s silly at all, man. Feelings are really fucking complicated- Not to mention you’re probably not mourning them specifically, just the fact that people died. You’ve got a big heart, there’s nothing silly or stupid about it.”
“You do too, M- Gordon. You’re a very kind person.”
They stare at each other for a few moments, both of them red as a beet.
“I think…” Gordon gulps, hoping how flustered he is isn’t that obvious. “I think I’m ready to go back inside.”
Tommy nods, standing up and pulling Gordon up with him. They both turn their heads to look inside the Chuck E. Cheese, seeing Mr. Coolatta somehow playing a perfect game of Skee-ball while Dr. Coomer and Bubby cheer on. Gordon looks at their hands, still intertwined, then back up to Tommy.
“C’mon, before the pizza gets cold.” Gordon opens the door with his shoulder, grinning at Tommy.
Tommy follows him in, and the Birthday Party At The End of the World continues on.

"You're doing great, Y / N!"  my friend Tracy said.
I smirked.  I did a Cartwheel for the last time and then I stopped.
"Thank you, hon," I shouted at her.
She handed me a towel.  "Take it. Then we have to go,"  she muttered.
"Where?"  I was in no hurry.  Oh, I loved Fridays.
"At that party, you fool,"  she said.
I sighed.  "Tracy, no. I'm not going to that party."
"Buut ... at least for me."  she threw dog eyes at me.
"No. I don't understand why you want me there, at all. I'm not a party woman. I hate parties. And you'll have a bunch of buddies there. And your boyfriend."
"God, there's no fun with you. Fine. I'll go there alone. But how do you spend Friday night? Staring at the ceiling?"
We started walking to the parking lot.  I laughed.  "No, Tracy. I'll relax. I'll go to the bathtub. I'll open my wine ... relax. I deserve it."
She didn't say anything.  She just turned her head inconspicuously in some direction.  I turned and rolled my eyes.
Josh was there.  My .. what?  Classmate.  And he kept flirting with me, even though I told him a thousand times that I am not interested.
"You should give him a chance, Y / N."
Sweet Tracy.
Don't get me wrong, Josh is a great guy.  He's nice too.  Funny.  Athlete.
But he didn't attract me.
I was not interested in the relationship.  I was attracted to guys, yes, but ... I haven't dated anyone yet.  And that was strange, according to other people.
"Y / N! Are you going from gymnastics, aren't you? You look like a goddess. Let's go for coffee!"
I moved to my car, which he was leaning on.
I smiled falsely.  "Josh .. I am.... Not. Interested..."
He waved his hand.  "You're just saying that today."
I told him this every day, but okay.
"But you can change your mind tomorrow, can't she, Tracy?"  he winked at her.
Tracy nodded.  "As Y / N's best friend, I promise Y / N will be only yours for coffee tomorrow."
"Tracy!"  I hissed.
She just shrugged innocently.
"That's great. See you tomorrow, then!"  Josh hugged me and walked away.
"You're great. Not to hold my side, no."  I told her angrily.
"Come on. You need fun. You can't just ... give him a chance at least once. Go on a date with him. Poor boy, he's been trying for you for years."
Her cell phone rang.  I knew immediately who was calling her.  I wanted to roll my eyes.  Really?
"Love!! Yeah! Come after me, we'll meet ... yes, there. Don't wait. What? I love you too. Have a nice day, I'm sending kisses."  Tracy's voice changed completely as she spoke to her boyfriend.  But completely.
"I'll say goodbye to you now, Y / N. Goodbye, at school! And enjoy your date."  she, too, walked away and waved cheerfully at me.
I got angry in the car and sighed in defeat.
I stood in front of a huge luxury villa.  Yes, I live here.
I opened the door and a cat stopped at my feet immediately.  I leaned over.  "Mickey! You're hungry, aren't you?"
He whimpered in agreement.  I gave him granules and stroked him.  He was the only one in this house who kept me company.
I lived with my father.  He stopped here that very rarely.  He was really rich, he had his own business and he had some company.
I had a good relationship with him, but ... I missed him.  I didn't want to be alone.  I didn't have siblings and my mom ..
I looked at the painted picture. My father had her painted while she was still alive.
Yes, she died.  She died in a car accident when I was very young.  I don't remember her at all.
But she looked like me.  She had my hair and my eyes.
Okay, I'm going to relax.  I deserve it.
I was lying in the bathtub with my eyes closed.  I have dreamed.
"You're so beautiful, Y / N .." someone whispered to me.
"I love you," I said, holding someone's hand.
"I can't believe I finally married you."  someone said.
"Life is unpredictable .."
The smell of a candle hit my nose.  That wouldn't be weird, I lit the candle myself.  But what was strange was that ..
That I smelled a men's perfume.
I opened my eyes immediately.
An unknown man stood beside the bathtub, looking at me.  If it weren't for the bizarre situation, I would have thought he was attractive.  He had wide shoulders, an overgrown face, blond hair, blue eyes framed by stylish glasses.
I screamed in an instant.
What. The.  Fuck.  Is. This!
He immediately ran to me and stuffed my mouth.  "Be quiet, sweetheart. Please,"  he said in a rather pleasant voice.
I shook my head.  I didn't like it!  An unknown man was at my house!  And he probably wanted to kidnap me.
Suddenly male voices came from the hall.  I thought I heard my father.
My father is here.  Everything will be explained.
I calmed down.
The man noticed it too.  "I'll let go of my hand now, but you can't scream, do you promise?"
I nodded.
He released his hand, but at that moment I got up (yes, I got up naked from the bathtub) and left and put my feet on the floor.  I quickly took the only weapon I had and that was a hairdryer.
The man tried not to stare at my naked body, but he looked furious.  "What the fuck are you doing, girl?"
"If you don't tell me what's going on in a moment, I'll throw the hairdryer in the bathtub!"  I screamed.
"You're crazy."
I approached the bathtub.
"Would you like to kill yourself?"
"I have nothing else left! Tell!"  I shouted.
He shook his head.  "You'll find out at the right time ... well! Just don't get any closer to that fucking water!"  he shouted.
"Your father cheated on us and he has to pay for it. He's talking to my boss Mickey now."
"You're fucking kidding!"
"I don't, girl. And now, if you were so kind ..." he approached me.
He carefully took my hairdryer and I stared into space.  What?
I stomped on his leg, he screamed in pain and I wanted to run away from this bathroom, but he managed to grab me in his arms.
I swung in his arms like a furious puppy, and somehow he couldn't keep his balance and we both ended up in the bathtub again.
He was with me.
"Get off me! Immediately!"  I demanded.  I didn't like it, to hang out with a naked guy like that.
He took my hands.  I couldn't run away from him.  "If you try anything else, you'll just make trouble, young lady. Do you understand?"
I was silent.
"You understand?"  he repeated the question.
I nodded angrily.  What was I supposed to do?
He released me carefully and came out of the bathtub angrily.
He mumbled something under his nose, but I didn't listen to him.
I pressed my knees together.  I tried not to cry.  It's over with me.
"Do you have any clothes here?"  he asked me.
"I don't know," I said.
"Come on. Don't lie,"  he demanded an answer.
I gave it up.  "My father has something in that locker," I pointed to the locker.
The man walked over to her and opened it.  He started rummaging in it, but I didn't listen to him, I didn't notice.
It will be over with me.
I will die.
The man had changed in the meantime, but I wasn't looking at him.
I pressed my knees together and stared at the ceiling.
He walked over to me and looked at me regretfully.
"Put this on, please."  he held my clothes in his hand.
I had no desire to object.
I wanted to get up and fulfill his wish, but he stopped me.  "I'll leave your privacy. I'll be at the door."
I piled up and got dressed.  He was a gentleman.. who wants to kidnap me or something.
He locked the door and left.
HE ALREADY SAW ME NAKED but ok.
Dressed, I carefully opened the door.  He was there, leaning.  He offered me his shoulder, but I refused.
I walked into that fucking living room, where male voices came from.
I saw a few men.  Everyone in tuxedos and on the couch was sitting with my father.  He looked startled.
"Y / N!"  he shouted.
"What's going on, Dad? Will you kindly explain it to me?"
"I'd hear that, too," a man shrugged.
I ignored him and looked at my father.  "So?"
"Y / N, honey .. I didn't mean .."
"What did you do? Tell me straight."  I asked him.
"I ... I ... I had some business with them. I was late paying and ..."
"And?"
My father must have had something on his tongue, he didn't want to answer.
The guy answered me.  "He killed our man."
I felt sick.  "You're making fun of me, aren't you? My father wouldn't kill in his life ..."
"Confess to her."
"I'm sorry ..." my father looked at me.
I fell to my knees.  "Father, what did you do? You threw us in danger! We will die for you! You should not have gotten involved with any mafia!"
"I am sorry.."
"I don't want to hear anything from you anymore."  I wanted to cry, but I was silent.  I screamed inside.
The cat also broke into the living room.
"Mickey," I whispered and took him in my arms.  He has always been my support.
The man, apparently the boss of it all, was intrigued.  "What did you call him?"
"Mickey,"  I said.
The man who was in the bathtub with me laughed.
The boss frowned at him.  "What happened to you, Raymond? You're in a different outfit."
How could they be so callous?
"That's a long story,"  he said, looking at me.
I kept clutching Mickey, even though he was starting to get uncomfortable.
"Hey, let go of that cat, we need to talk."  the boss spoke to me.
"About what? Kill me right now,"  I shrugged.
The man laughed.  "No, it won't work that way. I have no plans to kill you. You're just a daughter ... of an evil father. You'll pay differently."
Sweat ran down my forehead.  "What are you going to do with my father?"
"It's none of your business anymore,"  he replied.
"Leave him alone. You better kill me."  I declared and finally released the cat.  He was running away from here.
He didn't want to be here.  Like me.
"Y / N!"  my father shouted, but I ignored him.
The boss scratched his chin.  "I call it ... child's love. Too bad your father doesn't love you that much. He offered your life to save his life."
For the second time, I felt like throwing up.
"What? That ... really?"  I looked at him.  I had tears in my eyes.  Finally, some tears.
It hurt.  Like hell.  My father wanted to say something, but I didn't listen to him.
My father betrayed me.
"But we won't grant his wish, will we, Ray?"
The man in the bathroom with me, apparently Raymond, nodded.
"Take the girl away, Ray."  the boss stood up.
Raymond came up to me.  I did not understand.
He took me.  "Come with me.."
"What, no!"  I shouted.
Raymond looked at me.  "Trust me, you don't want to see this. Come on."
"What..."
And then it went awry.  Raymond lost his temper with me, grabbed me hard, and took me away.  I didn't understand why.
And then I understood.
One of the boss's men aimed his gun at my father.  But my father did something weird.  He picked his gun by himself and shot himself in the forehead.
And suddenly I heard it.  The sound of a gun.
"No no!!!"  I screamed.
"Let me go!"  I shouted.  I already cried.  My father fell to the ground dead with a hole in the middle of his forehead.
"It's after him. It's his fault, sweetheart... he's decided that way ..."
He said something else to me, but I didn't notice him because I cried a lot.
I only heard snippets of sentences.
"... take her with you ...."
"... why me? I have nothing to do with her, Mickey ..."
"Don't ask me why, just do it until we decide what to do with her. She looks awful, put her to bed."
"Of course she looks awful. She lost her father ... I'll do as you say, boss ..."
Some days seem so boring.  Also, ordinary.  Immutable.  Nothing is happening.
And then there are such days.  When something happens that will change your life forever.
