This was requested by @harringtonforhire (thanks so much for requesting!) and this one kind of took on a mind of its own. I had plans for how I wanted it to go down but this is where we ended up sooo hope you enjoy!

Moving in together was supposed to be easy, it was supposed to be fun. Up until this point, you had been convinced that every adult ever was full of shit when they gave you that knowing look and said, “moving in together is the real test, that’s when you find out how truly compatible you are.” No, it was you and Steve against the world—that’s what the two of you had said anyway—just you and him in your ridiculously small one bedroom apartment drinking and laughing and curling up on the couch to watch movies, eating absolutely terrible food because neither of you knows how to cook, and spending each evening making love because he was yours and you were his.

So how did you end up here?

The fights hadn’t started right away. For awhile, months even, it was true, paradisiacal bliss. But maybe the one bedroom apartment was too cramped or Steve was frustrated because Family Video wasn’t paying much or you were always stressed trying to balance a job and school. Regardless of whatever contributing factors may or may not be in place, none of them prepared you for the full screaming match that occurred or the words that should have never been said or the slamming of the door as he left.

Steve had come home in a sour mood, barely speaking, and then spent the next hour sulking around the apartment. You had been in the kitchen trying to sort out dinner and as soon as the front door had opened, you could feel the tension crackling in the air. He was acting like a child, that was your first thought, as he wondered from room to room mumbling under his breath and avoiding your concerned gaze.

“Steve,” you snapped, pulling him out of his mind and back to reality. “Can you just talk to me?”

“Nothing to talk about.” He shrugs, then departs the room as if that was going to clear everything up.

You gape, watching his retreating form as he exits back into the living room. A seething anger begins building inside of you as you follow closely behind, refusing to let this be your entire evening. In retrospect, you should have just let it go; let him sulk around for a bit and sleep it off, he’d be fine in the morning. But this wasn’t the first fight of the week and you were beyond annoyed by this point.

“Steve,” you say again, crossing into the living room and staring at your boyfriend who has now deposited himself on the couch, eyes focused on the tv. “You can’t keep doing this.”

“Doing what?” His eyes remain on the tv.

“This,” you emphasize, waving your hands around wildly. “You come home in a bad mood and you instantly push me away.”

His eyes snap over to you. “I’m not pushing you away.”

“Then what the fuck do you call it, Steve?” You inhale deeply, trying desperately to quell the anger bubbling up inside of you. “You won’t tell me what’s wrong, you won’t talk to me. I mean, is it me? Am I the problem, am I not doing enough?”

“No.” He sighs, doesn’t elaborate.

He turns his attention back to the tv and you scoff, a biting sound if you’ve ever heard one. You move further into the room and place yourself directly in front of the tv, effectively blocking his view. His jaw tenses and his eyes grow hard.

Good.

“Stop ignoring me! You don’t get to do that! You don’t get to come home and be in a shitty mood all the fucking time. You don’t get to push me away, Steve!”

“Push you away?” He scoffs, pulling himself to his feet. “I’m the one pushing you away? No, you’ve got that backwards, honey, I’ve been fighting for your attention for weeks now. I come home once, maybe twice, in a bad mood and suddenly I’m the bad guy? No, no fucking way.”

“What are you talking about?”

“You’ve been distant for weeks now. You’re rarely ever home and when you are, you’re always tired, you never want to talk. I mean, let’s be realistic for a second here, when’s the last time we had sex?”

“Oh my God,” you breathe, a sardonic laugh flowing from your lips. “Is that what this is about? Because I haven’t fucked you lately? I have a job, Steve, and school!”

“But I only have a job, right? Because I couldn’t pull the grades to get into a good school, any school.”

“Don’t,” you warn, “you know that shit doesn’t matter to me.”

“So, what? You’re the only one who gets to be in a tired, shitty mood from time to time because you have a job and school?” He laughs, a bitter and unkind sound. “But me, I should be fine, right? Because I only have my simple minded, ridiculously low paying job which I hate by the way but nowhere else is hiring right now so I’m stuck taking extra shifts and working longer hours just so I can provide for you, for us.”

“No one told you that you had to do that,” you yell, “I didn’t even know you were taking extra shifts because you never told me you were going to because you don’t talk to me anymore!”

“Oh my God,” he says, rubbing his hands across his face. “This is such bullshit!”

“Yeah? Well, I think you’re bullshit, Steve.”

He flinches, hard. All the anger seems to immediately drain from his body as he downturns his gaze to the floor. You stare back, unwavering, refusing to bend. In hindsight, you’re not proud of it.

He nods once, sniffs lightly and then whispers, “Yeah.”

And then he’s snagging his keys off the coffee table and marching towards the door. You almost call out to him, but you don’t. You almost run over to catch him by the arm, beg him to stay, to talk, but you don’t. It feels as if the moment stretches on forever in slow motion, giving you more than enough time to stop him from leaving… but you don’t. Then he’s out the door and slamming it so hard, it rattles the pictures adorning the walls.

You stand stock still watching the door, waiting for him to come back inside. He doesn’t. You wait in that exact same spot for another ten minutes, waiting. He doesn’t come back. You take a shuddering breath and slowly begin turning off all of the lights as you make your way back to the bedroom. He still doesn’t show. You fight the tears threatening to spill as you curl up into a ball wishing he was right there next to you, pulling you into his space, wrapping his arms tightly around you. But he’s not.

He stays gone all night.

Steve still isn’t home when you awake the next morning and by the time noon rolls around, you figure it’s time to finally crawl yourself out of bed. You’re sure he’s at work anyway, giving Robin an earful of everything that had happened. The thought makes your heart ache. You’ve already skipped your morning classes and while you successfully managed to pull yourself out of bed, you end up dropping back down onto the couch to sulk there instead. Fuck being productive.

By the time six o’clock rolls around, you’re pretty positive he’s not coming home again until you hear keys jingling in the lock and quicker than you can process, you’re on your feet, breath stifled in your lungs. The door opens way too slowly for your liking but then he’s there, in his normal Steve Harrington glory that still makes you weak in the knees. He looks exhausted—his hair is an absolute disaster and his eyes are red rimmed, from lack of sleep or crying, you can’t be sure. But then those eyes are trained on you and it’s as if you’ve forgotten how to function entirely.

“Hey,” he says softly.

“Hi,” you whisper.

“I, uh, I just came by to grab some things and then I’ll be out of your way so no need to worry, okay?” He brushes past you, heading for the bedroom. “I won’t be long.”

“Steve,” you begin, following closely behind, willing the sob to keep itself from bursting forth. “You don’t have to go. I don’t want you to go.”

He doesn’t respond, only keeps his back turned to you as he begins rifling through the drawers. You approach him slowly, reaching out to rest your hands against his back. He stiffens at your touch but doesn’t move away. You take that as a slight win, a go ahead and you run your hands softly up over his shoulders and then back down to wrap firmly around his waist. You press yourself flush against his back, head resting between his shoulders.

“Please don’t go,” you implore, voice catching as tears leak from your eyes. “I was upset, angry but I didn’t mean it, baby, I didn’t mean it. I love you so much, please stay with me.”

He sighs but then he’s loosening your grip so he can turn in your arms. He wraps his own tightly around you and that’s when the dam breaks and the sob you’ve been holding back breaks free. He rubs his hands soothingly over your back, soft shh’s and it’s okay, I’m here’s falling from his lips. It’s just like Steve to comfort you even though you’re the one who hurt him—you squeeze him tighter against you.

“Hey,” he says after a moment, tilting your head up to meet his eyes. “It’s okay, I’m right here, I’m not going anywhere, okay?”

You unhook your grasp from around his back and let your hands trail up over his chest before you cup his face in your hands, keeping him looking at you. You couldn’t bear it if he looked away now.

“I’m sorry,” you whisper, “I’m so so sorry and I understand if you can never forgive me—”

“—Baby, I forgave you the second I got into my car and drove out of here last night. I just, I think we both needed some space after what happened, after what was said, you know?”

You nod, your bottom lip quivering softly. He brushes his thumb softly over your lips, eyes searching your own for any hint that your apologies may not run as deeply as you claim.

“Do you—,” he stops, clears his throat, eyes blinking rapidly, “do you really think I’m bullshit?”

You shake your head vehemently. “No and I can’t believe I said that. I shouldn’t have said that, I’ve never meant anything less. You’re not bullshit, Steve, you are perfect, you are everything and I love you so goddamn much it hurts sometimes.”

“Say it again,” he whispers, brushing your hair out of your face, “tell me you love me.”

“I love you, Steve, I love you so much.”

He chokes on a sob and then his lips are on yours, forceful and insistent, and it steals all the breath from your lungs. You tangle your fingers in the ends of his hair as one arm snakes around your waist and the other cups your cheek. He begins walking you backwards toward the bed, lips kissing every inch of your face.

“I love you.”

Then your back is hitting the bed and he’s hovering over you. You stare at each other then, taking one another in as it feels like days have passed when in reality, it’s only been a handful of hours. Like, i think i read a remus/james fic once but only because sirius was remus husband and then he died and remus and james fell in love while trying to help each other with their grief (it was only one chapter and its unfinished :(( but the prompt was soooo good) AND THEN I read postcards from paris and it just made sense in my mind that Sirius and Kingsley are so fuckin compatible!!! Like their dynamic is sooo different from wolfstar and they just make so much sense?? And after i finished postcards i was like "somebody please give me more!?!" So anyway thank u for that!!

i always enjoy writing wolfstar dialogue because they...spar so well. like i think remus's dark/dry as the desert sense of humor matches well with sirius's like quick quick wit/sarcasm. and in the times I've dabbled with starking thus far, I've found it just as fun to write their dialogue. like it feels like a dance where two people are trying to lead???

Who the hell cared about that when Hanma was literally right there? A very tall glass of water on a hot summer day, begging to be drunk--

They leaned into him as they walked along, humming softly, contentedly to themselves. All their rattier thoughts aside, Asuka loved Hanma, and they wondered if he was aware of just how much; the only person they wanted to spend their time with, sleep next to, the only voice they wanted to hear, the only hands they wanted to tug on their feathers and dig into their skin- His. I'm gonna start with nct 127 because when I was reading your ask the first person that actually came to mind out the nct and skz members was johnny! I truly think y'all would be SO good together like ? we already know that johnny is pretty spontaneous and has a lot of interests in common with you already, but he's also so versatile and I think his love of exploring new things is something that would make him a good fit for you. I also don't think he would really care that you were born in 2000. I mean one of his best friends (mark) was born in '99 so if anything he'd probably just be more protective than if you were the same age or older than him.

something about you that I think is more specifically compatible with johnny is your aspirations! as far as I know, johnny loves animals, and in addition to that I think he adores people who have big dreams and are selfless in the way that you seem to be. johnny is an optimist and your desire to help animals, help people, and just overall put more good in the world would be very important to him

I personally can see johnny with anyone no matter their style, but I do think he has a lil soft spot for people who dress a little more casual/masculine. for nct dream I think I'm gonna ship you with haechan

it's funny that I'm shipped you with johnny and then haechan bc I feel like they're so different, but I'm still gonna do it ahhshchdjs

first of all, y'all would be chaotic as hell with those gemini and aries suns idc idc. I think one of the most compatible things between you two is your love of activities and longing for adventure. since you're both still really young and haechan is also more extroverted there would probably be endless things to explore together. however, as much of an extrovert as haechan is he is also extremely cuddly, and since he's a # gamer boy I also don't think he'd have a problem with hanging out inside as well on a rainy day

haechan for sure loves animals, but he especially loves things that are cute in general. an animal shelter would definitely be something he would support and spend a lot of time at if he had the option to do so. additionally, haechan is probably one of the most passionate workers I've ever seen, all while being very positive and personable. he knows how it feels to work hard to achieve your goals and he knows how happy achieving those goals can make a person, so I think he's another member that would admire you following your dreams no matter what they are. he works pretty much constantly, so if you're also working hard for long periods of time he would also probably be good at cheering up your mood and would be able to give you advice on how to make sure you don't get burnt out

as far as style, I oddly feel like haechan might think tomboyish fashion is super cute ? like he really seems like the type to say you can borrow his clothes and then proceed to call you cute and tease the hell out of you for wearing his clothes. tis' a vicious cycle

due to haechans general attitude and disposition, he seems like a really easy person to talk to. he's extroverted in the way that he may act a little over the top to not make people uncomfortable, but instead to try and make people realize he is approachable and it's okay to joke around. definitely an mvp in the realm of sarcastic banter, and definitely gives off bear vibes mhm

this might be surprising idk, but I'm gonna ship you with winwin!

going back to your hobbies and adventurous side, I think winwin would maybe want you to teach him things ya know? if I'm remembering correctly he's said that he's learned a lot over the years and become more outgoing because of his fellow members, so I think he appreciates relationships where he feels that he can explore things comfortably beside someone he trusts.

obviously he has no problem with animals, and as with the other nct members he admires the drive people show when they follow their dreams. the thing I think does differ with winwin though compared to the others, is that it's almost just the logical path in his head? like other than for fear, why would you not aspire to do more/achieve great things? I mean this man has has dance training, become an idol, and is acting more and more, so working hard and having goals seems to me like something that comes somewhat naturally to him

I think winwins favorite thing about you having a tomboy style would be that y'all can match <3 he may not act super mushy under there, but I would bet that this scorpio sun has some soft spots for being a matching couple (in a cool yet casual way)

additionally as I was writing this felix one I kind of realized that I might ship you with minho as well! although he may not be the most hyperactive or openly affectionate, he always shows he cares in other ways which I think is a really beautiful trait of his. I also have noted in the past that minho has dragged jisung out to do things with him sometimes, so I wouldn't say he's a 100% homebody either. he knows there's a time for going out snd a time for staying in, and can tell the difference between them well.

you got cats at the animal shelter? cool minho will be there all the time. like I kinda alluded to above, he seems like a really great caregiver to people as well as animals, so I think he would be enthusiastic about helping however he can

I honestly don't think minho cares that much about what you wear as long as you take care of yourself. he probably thinks people look good in most things or is very neutral about it if I'm being honest, so whether or not you have a more tomboy style or not isn't much of a bother to him because he just wants you to be comfortable! also confidence is attractive so if you're feeling good he's feeling good

lee minho is what I would consider a perfect mixture between logical and weird. he has that intelligence and common sense to where he is considered smart, but also is so mf weird, or should I say, logical on another level. for example, when he screams for "no reason", he says his reasoning is that he just felt like it. I mean when u put it like that, I would say that is in a unique way pretty logical, even if a lot of other people might see it as weird. he also definitely has charisma I mean just looking at him I think it's visible. also I have to include that god he has one of the prettiest noses I swear

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH oh, okay! Actually I have no clue if that’s why other people ship them? It might be? It might also be that them being the last two out of the group made people consider the ship and then start actually enjoy the possibility of it? I don’t know! Personally SeroMina is one of the ships I’ve been shipping the longest (I’ve been on it since before starting to like kamijirou, actually!) and one of the only three ships in bnha I have a seriously hard time breaking up and shipping around (the other two being ochadeku and bakushima) so I’m reasonably sure my ending up liking them was an independent thought process and it wasn’t guided by shipping other things? But it’s been so long that I can’t really say why I first considered them as a possibility, so who knows, really! Might be, might not!

The reason why I’m still shipping it right now is that I find them highly compatible, that their interactions in canon give me life, and that I just find them extremely visually pleasing - I think I have a very specific way of shipping them? In my head? I have this story about them, or... an ideal way in which I like to think they might happen, and it makes me very happy and makes me feel very warm and it’s just, it’s ideal? To me, the possibility of Sero and Ashido ending up together would make for an ideal lovestory and relationship, it just gives me the fuzzies haha it’s like, you know, they’re very very good friends, and to me that’s the most solid base to start a relationship, and they’re comfortable with one another which is wonderful. They’re the same type of silly and extra and rowdy which is fun, and I’m very very stuck on the fact that when Ashido was talking about her future agency she just assumed Sero would be in it - she wants him in her future??? how cute is that!! he wasn’t the only one she mentioned so I’m not saying it’s “canon proof” or whatever, I just like that out of the squad the only one she assumed would be with her in the future is Sero, it’s soft I like it. Well I'm keeping it to your OCs because I love and adore all of them sooo how about some headcanons for the RGB Trio 👀

A good choice indeed, fren. Have this mass of headcanons: four for each individually, and four for all three of them together.

- Akabi has the braincells of the trio, but what sucks about that sometimes is that he’s quiet and reserved, and only gets the other two out of trouble when he feels like it. Aoi Hebi and Midoriya’s occasional chaotic antics amuse him to watch. He will, however, step in immediately when it’s a situation he sees the need to stop before it escalates, and he’ll literally put the other two on his shoulders to carry away if he has to. The comical thing about that mental image though, is that he’s the shortest and smallest in build of the three, standing at 5′11, and has that kind of thin build that is way less muscular than he should be with how strong he is. And he’s the strongest of the three by a long shot.

- He really likes making music as a hobby, and helps Aoi Hebi with satisfying his want to be an idol by usually choosing him for any vocals in songs, even if it’s only one line, or it’s just soft harmonics and there are no words. Even if he doesn’t say it, the songs with Hebi’s voice in them are some of his favorites, and he listens to them sometimes when he wants to cheer up.

- It’s hard to make him laugh, but the one thing that never fails to have him feeling the urge to giggle at the very least bubbling up is seeing Hebi spread his legs really wide and squat when he’s upset, so he won’t transform, since he can’t control transforming into his snake form very well at all when it’s driven by strong emotion.

- He enjoys soft things, and one of his favorite ways to satisfy this want of specific sensory stimulation is to pet Midoriya’s head, ears,and tail. His hair and fur feel like a kitten’s with how wonderfully soft it is, even though he’s a dogboy, not a catboy. Midoriya’s tail never fails to wag as fast as it can when Akabi gives him headpats and scritches behind his ears, and is sure to thank Akabi with a big hug, smile and blep when he’s done.

- Aoi Hebi may be the really sassy kind, and tends to sass himself into trouble to look tough, but he’s way nicer than he seems to be based on descriptions. He doesn’t let his shitty circumstances get in his way and turn him super cynical and bitter. He’s of course still cynical and bitter, but logically, so to say. He won’t be overly positive and actually despises too much positivity in a negative situation (toxic positivity is a VERY easy way to piss him off and have him snapping at you), but he won’t make everyone down if they’re extremely positive and enjoying a positive situation, and will actively encourage said healthy positivity.

- He’s often really tired, and takes naps quite often. If he doesn’t wanna do anything, he’ll slack and find somewhere to nap. Part of that is due to him staying in his human form all the time due to preferring it, and that has him tired more often. His type of naga doesn’t get tired very easily when in their snake form, and can stay awake for a while without tiring out. 24 hours straight of being awake for them isn’t odd. But when in a humanoid form, they suddenly feel constantly exhausted due to the drastic difference in the rest needed. Hebi doesn’t feel it as intensely as the others due to always being in that humanoid form, but he still understands how they all feel.

- Underneath that tough guy look, he has a love for softer things. He may love black and darker, bolder blues, but show him a paler pastel shade of blue, he’ll openly admire it. He also has a fondness for flowers, and one of his favorite places to nap is in a field of them. When he can nap in a flower field with Akabi and Midoriya, he can’t help but feel like it’s even more special, even if he wouldn’t dare to admit that openly.

- He’s pretty flirty, yes, but someone flirts with him that he cares about and has interest in, he’ll internally be in a panic. He can keep his composure on the outside, but his brain will be flooded with rambling like it’s falling down a flight of stairs. The first time Midoriya shyly smiled at a flirt and genuinely took it to heart as a compliment, he started mentally rambling. And the first time Akabi smiled and thanked him, and even shot a subtle flirt back, his brain completely bluescreened as he was left wheezing.

- Midoriya’s a super happy guy, but he has his moments of anger. Hebi’s always called him a nag due to how he tends to scold Hebi when he doesn’t do things when he needs to, and naps instead. He always ends up sighing in defeat and letting Hebi sleep a little longer in the end by being swayed, because of the naga forms situation. He’ll be grumpily pouting for a while, though.

- Midoriya doesn’t drink Respect Women Juice, he naturally produces it based on how he behaves around them. Guys that sass women in any way get to see that grumpy non-himbo side of him show through as he sasses them into shutting up. Anytime he hangs out with only women, even if he’s not actually compatible with their interests based on his own, he enjoys it every time, just because he’s happy to be there and be included. That’s why he tends to be invited again after that, and because he’s the kind to openly encourage hobbies and listen to others talk about what they enjoy to him, even if it isn’t something he’s into at all or understands.

- He’s easy to entertain and satisfy, because of that obvious personality trait of his that has him just happy to be here. He doesn’t often get really really bored, and if he does, he finds something around him to occupy himself. Even just looking at the clouds in the sky, taking in the parts that are more opaque than others, taking in the shapes in detail, will have time flying by before he realizes it. He’s the kind that could tell you what microscopic changes happened with a wall, because he took the time to count everything on it, and memorize every little part of it.

- He’s super open about his love for his friends, and is the kind to be vocal about how expressing platonic love should be normalized. He’ll tell Akabi that he loves him with all his heart, and will gush about how much he cares, and how happy he is to be Akabi’s friend, in front of anybody. He’s beyond delighted to get a positive reaction to it, when Akabi smiles and thanks him for being his friend, and returns the sentiment with a possible headpat/ear scritch as he does so.

- Akabi’s had times where he worries about confessing the feelings he has for these two, afraid to choose one over the other when his attraction is equal, and then he remembers one important thing...he has two hands.

- Akabi’s never felt so alive, so full of purpose, than he does when with these two. And it’ll increase beyond tenfold when they all get together. Hebi feels the very same, alongside a feeling of truly being important and valued, and Midoriya is super bubbly and giddy about being able to protect and love these two even more than ever before.

- Akabi and Hebi are both rather touch-averse unless they initiate, but with each other and Midoriya, that goes away a LOT. Akabi doesn’t feel overwhelmed and annoyed when suddenly being touched by them, and feels like a pleasant feeling is filling his senses instead. And Hebi feels a sense of importance. Hell, they even feel a WANT to touch each other and Midoriya, even if only a little tap on the head or shoulder while walking by.

- Midoriya was always an open cuddler, but once he learned that Akabi and Hebi are both secretly cuddlers too after they all got together, he cuddled them as much as possible at night when they sleep. He also cuddles them a lot when they’re awake too, and just idly spending time together, and it never fails to fill him up with love and joy to see how Akabi and/or Hebi nestle into him more and fall asleep.

[R]: Unfortunately I don’t have any tutorials I use (most of my endeavors have been purely trial and error). Just look up some general stuff about blender features and get to know what they do. The main thing to do for getting a mesh into a full body ts4 costume is to append the model to the full body costume mesh file, delete the meshes in the LODs containing it and joining the mesh you want to said LODs --> then import to S4S and enjoy :D

I’d have to give this some thought. It’s possible that the upper body mods have to do with the muscle slider I used? Other than that, there wasn’t all that much else to them :/

Hannah Watches LoSH - Chain of Command

Ho boy... has it been a while since I've been doing this. I apologize to everyone for the wait, but a lot of things been going on for me IRL. I recently got approval for student loans so I’m just waiting for that to come in before school, which will be full time this next semester. I'm trying to resume this on a regular basis as means with coping with recent... frustrations. 

Also, if you notice inconsistencies with the different gifs regarding fonts, that is because I was busy figuring out how to make sure they stood out. And then I had computer problems right as i was halfway done making all of them. And then I thought I lost them. 

BUT WHILE MOST OF THE FILES WERE OKAY, I HAD TO GO AND FIND EACH GODDAMN INDIVIDUAL FONT.

So if it takes me a while to get the next one out, know that there is a good chance it’s because I had a heart attack OR/AND I seem to take my frustrations out on my pillow via screaming...

He then goes to describe Winath, stating it's the "breadbasket of the galaxy", as it provides most of the galaxies food supply.

Certainly makes his farm boy insults from the first episode look weak.

But he moves on to discuss that cosmic storms used to be a big problem for Winath until they built "THE CORE DIFFUSOR STATION". A station that turns storm energy to usable energy. But unfortunately, the current storm is way more powerful than the maximum the station can handle, which makes the Legion's first priority to make sure the station doesn’t overload.

However, as soon as they approach the planet, turns out that storm is way worse than anticipated. Saturn Girl manages to get in contact with the people on the planet that are in the shelter.

Seeing as the Cruiser wasn’t built for the storm either, Lightning Lad instructs the Trips and Bouncy to stay on board while everyone else takes the battle pod.

Wait. Battle pod?

Huh.

Don't crash, this isn't the Intergalactic games.

Well, that's what he get for telling another person to do something outside their capabilities.

Unsurprisingly, Lightning Lad crash lands. Typical.

And that's why Lightning Lad is not the pilot on the usual schedule...

Upon entering, the place looks trashed but Lightning Lad says they got there just in time. Mm-hm.

Whom?

Aww he lookin a little heartbroken for a moment~

Bromance.

And then the introduction between Superman and Cosmic Boy. And honestly, Cosmic Boy starts to fanboy a bit.

JEALOUS GARTH!

Lightning Lad demands to know what Cosmic Boy is doing on Winath, and he states they got a distress call...

Wait. Plural?

Turns out he brought someone along. Ferro Lad.

Ok I can't help but laugh a little bit at this.

Cosmic Boy encourages Ferro Lad to demonstrate his powers, which is turning into Metal. And then Lightning Lad interrupts. He tries to give orders, but Cosmic Boy quickly overrides him, having Superman Lighting Lad and Colossal Boy and Ferro Lad stabilize the building while he and Saturn Girl and B5 go to the core.

Aww.

He snaps out of his emo mode pretty quickly though and goes to work.

The core meanwhile is well beyond f***ed, making Cosmic Boy project a magnetic field over the central part, but doesn't seem like it will last.

Outside, Lightning Lad is whining to Superman about Cosmic Boy about bringing in a new member with no audition, only for Superman to say it seems like a good choice.  

Wow, it's like this show loves making Superman compatible with just about everyone.

Unfortunately, the generator they were trying to put back together outside overloads.

Ouch.

He isn't able to contain the core, and Brainy is unable to work on it, and the radiation happens to be building, getting ready to blow. When trying to reaching Superman, due to communication problems caused by radiation from the core. But who needs communicators when you got Saturn Girl?

She quickly instructs Superman to get the core out ASAP, and he does. But when it blows, he passes out, making it impossible for her to reach him.

As Superman is falling back to Winath, Bouncy goes to save him.

What a pure relationship.

Unfortunately, they lose sight of him in what I assume is smoke. THankfully he lands on the ship.

Bouncy then has to maneuver the ship to prevent debris hitting them, which does make superman tumble, but Triplicate Girl catches him from the hatch door.

But the debris decides that the cruiser isn't enough to pick on, and targets the guys that are still on the ground, while throwing in cyclones into the mix. So ground team goes to meet up with inside team.

As there is no core to help pacify the weather, Cosmic Boy and Lightning Lad get into an argument on getting the system back online vs saving whatever they can.

When Lightning Lad asks who's going, much to his surprise, Ferro Lad and Colossal Boy volunteer. Brainy stays, being the nerd he is.

And there's the jerk persona again.

While outside and fixing a bridge, Ferro Lad confronts Lightning Lad.

Okay. That would include the entire BatFam on Lighting Lad's suspicious people list.

… WELL NOW I DO.

Back on the cruiser:

TRIPLICATE GIRL IS THE TEAM MEDIC!

Bouncy notices a pattern to the storm, but gets ignored by the ground team. And then despite protests, Superman leaves as well.

I feel u.

Meanwhile, Brainy is building a replacement for the old core. When Saturn Girl asks what she can do, Cosmic Boy tells her to step back so she doesn’t get hurt.

The outdoor squad is still struggling with the damn but Lighting Lad flies off when he sees a farm getting wasted by the debris, despite Colossal Boy's statement on not being able to save everything.

He tries to blast away the hail that's falling, but can only split the largest piece in half, which still does a lot of damage. Superman does arrive to help knock the hail stones away, but the ground starts to fall out from underneath.

DUDE THE HOUSE IS FALLING APART WHY ARE YOU TRYING TO GET YOURSELF KILLED?!

Wait. That room.

Oh.

OH

OH SHIT OW NO STOP MY HEART IS NEVER READY FOR THIS PART

Just as the house is going into the ground, Lightning Lad flies out just in time.

Ow.

After this, we cut to Lightning Lad telling Superman that it was his home.

OW.

Saturn Girl contacts them to inform them that Brainy fixed the power system, and they fly off to go back.

When asked where she’s going, Saturn Girl states she's going to the shelter, to which Cosmic Boy says she's too vulnerable. And thus she lays down the best burn she made yet on this show.

List of things that have happened to her beforehand:

-Carried off by Timber Wolf while he was in full feral mode

-Nearly blasted by Alexis

-Trapped in a fear-feeding abomination of a space station AND GOING THROUGH HER WORST FEAR OF ROLLER COASTERS

-Trapped in the Phantom Zone

She’s dealt with worse.

Ok if even Brainy, one of the least sociable of the group, knows you f***ed up, then you f***ed up big time.

Back on the cruiser, Bouncy predicts where the next massive part of the storm will hit. The damn, where it will rupture, causing mudslide and sinkhole at the shelter.

But the people on the planet won't listen. At first.

YAS BOI

Yeee

With everyone finally getting in line, Bouncy gives instructions.

As the boys are working on this, Saturn Girl arrives to the shelter, offering assurance they will be ok.

Back with the boys, yes I know, that was fast, Lightning Lad starts a fire intentionally, and Superman moves a tornado, directing the flood into what I assume is another river, lake or possibly ocean. It ain't a pond, I know that.

The station finally goes back online, and it seems to be functioning.

WElp, Brainy certainly likes to leave his signature.

So pure~

Back with Saturn Girl as she and the Winathians begin exiting.

Sarcastic SG is what I live for.

Lighting Lad arrives, with the picture he saved from the house. But doesn't go for Saturn GIrl.

Hmm.

We cut to the cruiser leaving Winath, and Cosmic Boy and Lighting Lad soon dissolve into another argument.

Wait, MONTHS?! Yeah, Lightning Lad has a right here to be mad, give an update at least once a week.

Fair enough. If Lightning Lad knew where you were, he probably would have made a massive bad impression.

I thought that was Tinya's role... then again I doubt she enjoys it.

Aww, poor ferro lad.

So, to put this argument into the ground, they hold an election. Probably will end better than the american ones can.

Nothing but respect for my team leader.

THIS SHIP IS CANNON!

Is Mekt in jail? Or do you consider him more of a nuisance on the level of STAR FINGAH?

But yeah I guess nothing can go wrong.

… SHIT.

So final thoughts on the episode overall and the characters

This was the first episode without a villain character. The main conflict is among the team and trying to keep the planet from being shredded. It's also the only episode with no villain character. I really wish we got more episodes like this, or even on the Legion's everyday mundane lives.

As for the storm plot point, it does remind me a lot of actual natural disasters and nuclear disasters. Which I think from a writing stance is a good thing.

Now. Winath. In all honestly, I kind of want to do a whole post on Winath culture and on the Ranzz family and my personal thoughts, but I'll put some tidbits of that discussion in here.

Big source for food in the galaxy. How big is that planet? Earth size? Moon size? Seems suspicious they only showed us one shelter and that there's only one station, so I'll have to go with moon, maybe smaller. So that should mean that year-round it is the optimal place for most crops. Minus cosmic storms.

But onto the whole subject of why there are so many twins.

In the comics, it was completely normal for twin births, while solo children are the minority. We aren't given any particular reason why though. We did see some people without twins in the shelter, but that doesn’t mean they weren't born single.

Another thing from the comics I want to mention is that Solo children were stereotyped as psychopaths.

Hmm. Wonder how that could possibly negatively impact kids who were solo on Winath. I said sarcastically, looking at a certain trash baby.

When I first watched this, this was when I started doing research into the old Legion comics. Where Mekt was about as sane as a cat on catnip. And had no sense of fashion.

Yes, of course I'm bringing the Trash Lord into discussion, he was in a photo! Don't worry, I'll keep the topic on him short.

Mm. He doesn't seem very happy. Pretty distant from everyone else. Gonna have to go with the possibility that solo children don't get the best treatment on Winath.

… Wonder how he felt hearing about the whole event for this episode?

And then there is the subject of Mr. and Mrs. Ranzz. How did they treat their sons exactly? Because clearly they love Garth and he did a lot of accomplishments, but Mekt came out as a mess.

In a post from Tom Bierbaum, who worked on the comics, located here, he describes the family as ”...Bit of a mixed bag. There was a lot of good there, but the parents were probably highly accomplished, career-driven people who expected nothing less of their kids but were so wrapped up in their own responsibilities that they weren't giving their kids the kind of attention and support they'd need to reach their positive potentials.”

One thing to keep in mind is that the family were a bunch of farmers. And farming is not easy. So it is possible that being too busy was one of the reasons that the kids ended up as they did, although unintentionally.

But I just gotta mention something based on personal experience.

So most of my Dad’s side of the family live in North Carolina and were in the countryside and worked with farms. 

And most of them conservatives.

Like, racist homophobic conservatives.

You can imagine how uncomfortable I, a biracial pansexual Latina girl, can get around them.

So, based on a personal experience, I am suspicious if there was some neglect towards Mekt as he was a minority that was discriminated against, and favoritism towards Garth and Ayla for being twins.

But it’s hard to say given that we barely see them or their behaviors.

Moving on.

Now the actual characters in the episode.

Starting with Superman. His fanbase grows. Not much development but we also see he's a little impulsive here, judging by how fast he went to get back out of the cruiser.

Brainy doesn't get much development either. But he definitely seems far more open to people now, given he was smiling at Cosmic Boy. Smiling. Our little grouchy pants. SMILING. The writers are keeping consistent with how he has been becoming more and more open to people emotionally, as well as expressive.

And then we have Colossal Boy. This is his second speaking role episode. He seems rather close to Cosmic Boy. Not exclusive to pet names. Which does warrant... shipping grounds. As far as character development goes, it is interesting to note that even though he's close to Cosmic Boy, he volunteers to help Lightning Lad outside the core. So, he might be more pro-active than CB1. But he also says Brainy has a big head. This could be seen as a jab at B5 because of his intelligence, but Brainy also asked if he could get any smaller than what he currently was. Perhaps being asked go get smaller is something he has to deal with frequently, and that was one of his ways of throwing it back into another person's face.

Ferro Lad... so, he seems generally nice in this episode, a bit on the social awkward side, and prefers to stay out of arguments that don’t necessarily involve him. But he keeps his face covered to hide whatever is underneath it, saying people don't want to see what's underneath. We can easily figure this means that he has been disfigured somehow, but whether or not he himself is conscious on it as well is another matter.

Which reminds me of Deadpool, who is self-conscious in his movie and that serves as the motivation to find Axe – oh I'm sorry, FRANCIS.  

But let's talk some trivia about his comic book origins. Originally, Jim Shooter, a white guy, who worked on LoSH comics, wanted to make him black. However, as writing the character took place during the 60s, DC shot down the idea, saying they would lose distribution in the South. Whitewashing him in the final product.

So, good on Jim for trying with good intentions, bad on DC for tearing it down.

As for where that goes as a consequence overall in most media for LoSH, we'll discuss it in the future.

But... that now begs the question... have other adaptations tackled this race-change? In the cartoon, we can see the skin around his eyes as well as his hands, which are light. So, it’s probably unlikely. 

Given Jim Shooter's original idea, I would totally be down for seeing a POC version of Ferro Lad.  

But I only found out Ferro Lad's backstory thanks to a friend in the last year, so it's might not well known, and the people working on the show might not have known at the time. And I've stated this before, and I'll say it again, the show originally had Triplicate Girl with darker skin, and given that they made her lighter in the final product was executive meddling, so who knows?

Speaking of Triplicate Girl, this episode once again gives us a lot of character development with her. She seems to be the medic of the group, or at least seems to have sufficient knowledge to give medical treatment. And that's a pretty interesting idea in the show. I personally would love to see more superheroes with more real-world skills. Most of the time.

But she is shown around Bouncy for the majority of the show. But she has her own individuality, as she has more confidence than him, and reassures him that there was no mistake with the votes.

And now, our lovable Bouncy. This is episode gives him A LOT of development, as we watch him assess the situation and take control, making the best decisions on how to treat the situation. And accidentally becomes the new leader during the polls. Something he also has a hard time believing.

Okay, so he had to try multiple times to get into the Legion, and even when he’s in, he finds people questioning his abilities. So now, all of the sudden, he has been elevated to LEADER. That’s a definitely a big shift.

This does look like a good thing (especially since most of the legion think their worst enemies are behind bars based on what Lightning Lad said), and back when I first watched this show, I thought it was the best outcome. But now I can’t help but wonder, what are the qualifications?

Because as much as Bouncing Boy is a good person and does have skills and can assess a situation, we do have to acknowledge that if he doesn't meet the qualifications, he really shouldn't be in the position. Good intentions don't automatically mean good results in the long run. I think the next episode looks into this a bit more but keep it in mind.

I never thought I would criticize the show on that aspect when I was younger, but given the 2016 election results and where that has led, can you blame me for being concerned with this now?

Which reminds me – PLEASE GO VOTE IF YOU ARE ELIGIBLE THIS NOVEMBER!

And now, the founders.

So this is Cosmic Boy's first major off screen appearance. And the show quickly show he's Lightning Lad's foil. He does take his duties seriously but does leave the team for a time to try establishing themselves to others, without contacting anyone. Diplomacy seems like a more reasonable reason than just because you're going through the ego-emo phase, but still.

 Does seem to like Saturn Girl, but unlike Lightning Lad, seems to be more overprotective, where he won't have her do anything. Something similar to Timber Wolf in the degree of unintentional misogyny. Something she calls him out on. And like Lightning Lad, doesn't back down from a challenge. But there doesn't seem to be any malice/anger on his part, unlike Lightning Lad.

Saturn Girl also gets developed as well. But it is in terms of her relationship between the two boys, in a love-triangle sort of way unfortunately. She reassures Lightning Lad that she would be with him regardless of what happens, but as soon as Cosmic Boy shows up, she goes to him. And when Lightning Lad is getting ready to go outside, she chooses to stay to serve as communication. But she makes her own decision on going to the shelter. And later, she lets Lightning Lad go to his parents without intervening or apologizing. She practices agency in these relationships, and makes it clear no one owns her and she is capable of doing things, which I really like to see.

And now our favorite Trash Child.

Lightning Lad is confronted with a threat to his home, so he takes this mission far more seriously than most other missions we have seen so far. He is going out of his way for all efforts to protect Winath. And it is understandable why. As for his jerk-and-pride personality issues, he seems to be in better control, except he seems to have focused most of it on Cosmic Boy. However, it does pop up in the tone of his voice when Saturn Girl stays behind. And has trouble trusting new people. But he seems fast to warm up to Ferro Lad.

But he doesn’t demand any apologies from Saturn Girl for siding with Cosmic Boy, showing he truly respects her.

When Bouncy becomes the new elected leader, he doesn't hold anything against him. Instead, he is supportive. We wouldn't have gotten that with our Lightning Lad in the first episode.

And can I just say the quiet moments in this episode really delivered? Both the moment when he goes to his room and when he goes to his parents show his vulnerable side.

But before I wrap up this episode, I just want to thank everyone who has put up with me taking so long to resume these reviews.

Hopefully the next one won’t take as long to get out, but... we’ll see.

Hey Ana I was looking for some advice. My friend broke up with her bf a few weeks ago cause he did her real bad by publicly accusing her of cheating and further humiliating her. He has a history of possessiveness and insecurity that comes out in ugly ways despite how shes always reassuring him (she even cut off most her friends when he asked yet he refused to do the same) and frankly she REALLY ain't the type to cheat. 1/2

But she was with him for 2 yrs and were practically best friends, loved and trusted him a lot and thus feels sooo betrayed by this and keeps tryna make sense of his behaviour as if it was uncalled for. It was her first r/nship and I, like u lol, am a virgin (both sex & love) and don't know what to offer besides some reason and a listening ear. How can I make her see that villains are human too 2/2

i would just encourage her to get into some form of therapy because two years with a person who only takes from you does your mind real dirty & it has created habits, patterns of thinking that dont add to ur life. these things are so deeply ingrained in her that you as a friend cant really say a couple magic words to make them disappear. but it also takes recognition on her behalf to see the situation for what it was in order to get better. you just cannot make a square peg fit into a round hole & ur friend is trying to be the Best Girlfriend to someone who will only ask her for more. there is no satiating these types of people bc they arent with you to be happy so much as testing you to see when u will leave. ur friend needs to curate her own emotional strength to refuse him when he comes back into her life (and he will. he too is addicted to the attention & power) and she needs to be the one to refuse him entry into her heart. as a friend, all you can do is listen to her and perhaps try to guide the conversation (”do you think it’s normal for people in relationships to do what he did to you?” “do you think it is ok for him to have double standards?” etc) but at the end of the day you arent going to be the one to fix this bc this doesnt involve you and i would caution you against trying to Superhero this situation. Just like try ur best to get her to go to a couple therapy sessions with a compatible therapist & be there for her, listen to her, love her. I wish you the best!

hmmm i think my faves would probably be tsukki, suga, and akaashi! i know for suree that i would get along w them, especially akaashi :) my sister and i are literal replicas of akaashi and bokuto’s relationship haha. like, she lives to cause chaos and i’m always there to pick up after her. i can really see me and akaashi bonding over being quiet, responsible one who follows the loud and enthusiastic one :) alsoo,, i can see us recommending books and cafés to each other!

as for who i’m compatible with.. i feel like i would say tsukki? partially bc he’s my EXACT ideal type (intj 5w6 come throughh) but i also feel like our personalities would mesh really well! as i mentioned before, i’m definitely quiet and introverted, but i’m also very very snarky lol. i feel like we could see have some playful banter together and not have to worry about hurting each other’s feelings :)
