Dark-skinned rava viera were already v desaturated w/o shader but the new graphics update ahhh......haha man i hope my shaders safe the way the rava viera look on my screen

#Viera got it BAD with the skin colors dude #the skintones are so weird now they even managed to whitewash white characters like. #Vokashia is WAY paler a Veena than he was before he looks like paper now #I dunno if them remaking the textures entirely for Viera made it worse or what but man #even after fixing gamma the dark skin for Viera doesn't look quite right #I REALLY hope it's just the outdated greywashed character creator since they said that was fucking with noticing the update

It's funny how a silly fictional character can come into your life and then take over your entire brain chemistry

I just had a huge realization about Arkhe and the progression of MSQ. He would literally know about all the betrayals and other evil plans of those he comes across at least once because of his Deep Sight, but because he both can't throw accusations out wildly and also generally isn't listened to, he just lets it all happen.

It NEVER clicked to me that he'd know about all this stuff, even if he only ever glimpsed the general intent. At times he'll know every detail (like with the Crystal Braves), but others he'd just know a summary and still be potentially caught off guard by the exact events (like Taledji's revolution and Arkhe being genuinely enraged when Nanamo got poisoned since he didn't know it would happen).

#when you're an objectified weapon of light and nobody really listens to you that's all you can do I think #not to mention the everyday cluster B problem of people conveniently ignoring your struggles and symptoms #so Arkhe's got two separate lives he's trying to live here and if he wasn't used to manipulating people he'd have crumbled by now

Thinking about the Crystal Braves section of MSQ as I replay it, and knowing that the moment they hear the Syndicate mentioned, Arkhe and Gogeyi are sure that Alphinaud is gonna be killed and thrown in a ditch, so they're sticking around and playing along to see what happens until the chaos starts.

#they'd know from the first mention that this is a TERRIBLE idea but it isn't like they'd be listened to #so they do what they do best: not saying anything while being double agents to watch it go to shit #both for amusement and to make him learn his lesson #Alphi's gonna be PISSED when told that they knew it was gonna go wrong from the start #and to add salt to the amputation sites he's gonna get his first taste of their brutal sense of karma and how detached from allies they are #they never thought of the group as family and it'll finally click for the first time as he sees how unbothered they are about all this #they're just annoyed they supposedly can't go back to Eorzea due to inconvenience they don't care about WHY they can't #they're gonna go back anyway sometimes because nobody can actually stop them but Alphi and the others don't know that #playing two WoLs with ASPD and thinking about how different the MSQ is from their perspectives shines a light on many things to me suhgfuif
