Hello everyone! Now that we're nice and early into April I wanted to give a little update on my work and where I am with everything! The move I just had went incredibly poorly and was very stressful and down to the wire, sad to say. BUT we pulled it off and it's DONE!!

However, the move taking so much of my time combined with getting INSANELY sick right before all that, combined with unpacking going slow, combined with generally sadness and stress over life changes means... yeah I haven't really gotten much work done sadly

I've done one or two commissions since getting sick but in the mean time my waitlist has been growing a lot. Thank you all so much for your interest in commissions! And, genuine apologies for the fact I've made no progress on them. Just know I'M NOT IGNORING ANYONE!!

I haven't forgotten you, you're on the waitlist and I will reach out when I get to you! At the moment, my work time is being taken by bigger projects like indie games and other stuff and of course MOONLIGHT PULSE which launches this month!!

Generally speaking, I do give projects where I'm working on games/projects and being part of a team priority over personal commissions. Please understand (and if you want me to make characters for your game... feel free to ask-) And I will announce when my comm schedule clears!

As for the future? Well... I think there's a good chance I'll have to up commission prices very soon. I'll go into more detail when I figure out what's a good price increase but currently while I don't think my art quality warrants it 100%. The demand is a LOT aha

And, it's almost guaranteed I will have to move again next year. Which means I'll be busy repacking stuff soon. And I never really fully recovered from how expensive moving LAST year was. And I'd really like to have more money for my 3rd year moving in a row

This isn't to sound super pitiful or beg for money online I'm just laying it out as it is. Please understand I don't WANT to increase commission prices but I do feel like I'm not getting payed properly for a lot of the work I'm putting in if that sounds fair and not whiny

In the mean time if you want something smaller from me my Ko-Fi is always there, if you leave a request I'll sketch it for you AND you can even request those little dragoon creatures there. I do also have a Patreon and while I am working on patreon related stuff like new podcast things and more games to put patrons into credits, the well of content there has dried the last few months. So no pressure if that's not enticing/you want to unsub

Again I apologize for all the slowness. I promise the daily dragon thing isn't cutting into work time and it's actually been very relaxing for me. Thank you all for your understanding and support. I appreciate you all! I also wanted to post this yesterday but... lol

Hey! I really adore your gifs, they are always beautiful and well thought out. And as a content creator I have to ask, does it ever bother you how underwhelmingly our stuff does, especially compared to paddock/race/other types of photos spammed?

TBH, I only started recently so I dont have enough of reach and also not too wow stuff so I get it (and also IDC about myself that much). But I see some others creating amazing stuff that doesnt get any reblogs whatsoever and it just breaks my heart bec I know how hard you all work to make this insane gifs and edits

Short answer: yes it bothers me that things dont get reblogged.

But not necessarily in comparation with new photos that drop in race weekend bc it is understandable (plus there are a lot of people who go out of their way to not only download things, specially with other websites so they are clean of watermarks and things like that, but also edit them).

What I do think is that more complex stuff needs the same amount of love and not just a like bc it doesnt change a thing. This is not my only blog, I have another one with lots of followers that is for tv and movies and even there, specially lately, the difference between reblogs and likes is discouraging.

But well speaking about f1blr more specifically, I think it is one of the worst on that aspect, it is brutal. Sometimes not even if you gif something in lighting speed does it reach the 100 notes. And I think it is because of a few things:

People just dont reblog, that's a fact. I always try to reblog everything I see and like and even go to the tags to see if there is something new, which brings me to point number 2.

I dont know why but the tagging system in the fandom in general it's all over the place. Some days ago I reblogged this post about tagging for creators and added in the tags that I think we need to use the f1edit tag a LOT more and the xdriveredit too! It is so easy and it simplifies a lot when looking for gifs/edited photos/graphics of an specific driver. I know there are some that uses them, me included, but there is a large part that doesn't and I feel creations often get lost in the main tag bc of the influx of new content all the time. Obviously this is not by any means fault of the creators, I think everyone in the fandom should look more into those tags so they are worth tagging them. It's the same way f1 fanartist tag things with f1 art or f1 fanart (i check those tags too)

Well this is more to do with simple gifs but people do not reblog multiple versions of things and while i get it to certain point sometimes it is a bit baffling to see. There is no way two gifs are exactly the same and all deserve the same love yknow.

And yeah I know some say "oh but why are you doing it only for notes, do it for yourself" yeah well if i did it only for myself i wouldnt be posting it, its always nice to receive love for something you did and are proud of! We are humans we need feedback it is not as simple as doing it for ourselves.

Anyways, I would say we need to check the tags more, have them organized and the most important bit: REBLOG, this is not instagram and it is not twitter even if the layout on web now is the same

also i would love to know who you are and see your creations!! And try to not get discouraged if you really like doing what you do!

back at it again with the trying to figure out a name to go by online outside of my art business.. an internet nickname.. i just think itd be fun and also slightly reduce the risk i face by using my honest to god actual name on social media lmfao

i have a few contenders but some of them are like...character names? and while im not 100% OPPOSED to using a character name i also feel like if i used one id feel inclined to like..take on a persona that reflected that character bc of the name? for example id love to go by scourge, its a kickass name for a kickass character who i love very much. but also if i went by scourge id 100% feel the need to give my persona green hair, sunglasses, and a leather jacket LMFAO. i dont want to fall into kinnie territory again im done w that

so i guess im thinking of more "neutral" names, definitely noun names bc i love those (or even adjectives/adverbs depending??? idk. i just know i dont want a traditional Name name), but also ones that sound Cool. scourge is one of those but again itd be because of the character and i dont wanna go down that road in that way again 😔

moss was a good start but it didnt click like i thought it would/hoped it would even after trying it on for a while. i am still considering soda, but the only thing holding me back from that one fully is that it's also my fursona's name and i kinda wanna keep that associated with my fursona :/a itd be confusing for me to go by soda and also have my fursona go by soda... i know ppl use their actual names for their sonas sometimes too but it doesnt vibe with me for mine lol

im very envious of ppl who have found their noun names and stuck with them because i do see them like..a lot, and i have for a long time. a few that come to mind are splash, blue, flighty, moon, fire, and spy (if you know you know). names like that really appeal to me

right now the only one i have besides scourge and soda is something like frontiers?? or maybe even just frontier. i cant super tell which one feels better to me yet, if i were to use it.. but all i know is that it feels like its going in the Right direction. i can feel myself getting closer to a noun name that i really really vibe with but its juuuust out of reach rn

But wait a The 1975 Noacf Photo New Shirt . Mars long time ago had the same conditions as earth(flowing water etc) but why did it become like this? All the atmosphere might have washed away by the solar wind . Even now due to solar wind 100grams(not sure of the number) of atmosphere of mars is washed away per year. So even if we now emit green house gases there they are going to be washed away and become useless. love that haircut 100 album cause like while a lot of new wave has funk and jazz lil sprinklings on it i love how they just revel in it like i love how lemon firebrigade is literally just a instrumental aside from the lil sung part its soooo goood and especially perfect listening to on LP on my nice sound system ^_^ like glad that i experience the album first on LP b4 picking up a CD i kinda feel awakened to llistening to music on LP now. like just getting real comfy w. it ^_^ also in the morning i was so pissed off just stressed wasnt able to get any sleep really cause of dendy peeing and my room smelling awful and then right after that my dads dog lucas threw up and i cleaned it up and let him out but was just exhausted but after that i relaxed and listened to reach out by burt bacharach and then listened to goldfinger score by john barry and played spartan x while listening to it it worked so well since like spy music and martial arts go well together especially with the games obvious game of death influence so that was fun. also since that game is great. buut it was suuuper relaxing putting burt bacharach on and resting my eyes and falling asleep to it :> gonna rly gonna try to get more records in the future and just have a lot of my fav albums on record and maybe even look for like expensive stuff thats my fav like b2 unit and 70s miles davis and stuff liiiike that. tho also i think from now on im gonna try to listen to everything i buy for the store b4 taking it in. im too lazy at listening to music digitally like on spotify or on yt like i just lag so im gonna try to listen to all the records b4 one to check that they dont skip and two to just get more knowledgee :) abt the world beyond just names n stuff. and three also its good to not just take them immediately after cause lots of time the boss doesnt have cash in his register when i go since its like right after they open so its better for me to wait more towards the middle of the day or second half :) saturdays haul was reallly really gooood and im excited to see how it goes from here on out. especially saturdays where im gonna go to two back to back. regretting i didnt listen to some of those albums i got previously buuut from now ill try to do that and like if things continue for the foreseeable future ill probably run into the same albums i found previously so like ill be able to hear them eventually. this job is rly dope i hope it doesnt end and things get better both for me and the store. cause like ya the pay obv isnt consistent and based on how muhc work i put in which is a nice challenge but obv with its disadvantages so like im hoping i continue to find great stuff and eventually it goes to where i can work in the store again and do both. its fun going w/ my uncle and my grandma but i also hope i can drive there alone i nthe future so idont feel too reliant on ppl and also so that i can go at my own pace n stuff. rn i can definitely drive to and from the one i go to thursdays but the saturdays one are tricky and ill have to look up more on google maps. tho yesterday was soooo goood like i found so much great stuff and felt real proud about my finds ^_^

Hi! Player here I have many characters so why don't I list some of them off before I continue on reposting or even posting. I do play with homebrew content and I play 5e. Also If someone could tell me how to make it so there is a certain point it cuts off and there is a read more button that would be really nice its a long wall of text so I'm putting a seperator in for anyone scrolling

Sai- the character I call my first character. High elf ranger 31 years old although because of the way she acts and thinks she should probably be at least 100 but I didn't know how the aging worked yet. She is a ranger/rouge entertainer. She is a beast master and her companion is a black panther named luna. She currently has a hellhound puppy named Char. She has a friend stormy who is a pitch black Pegasus.

Tana- druid tiefling. She is particular about what she eats and where it comes from when she eats meat or any product from animals she always has to know the source before hand and know that they are raised properly even though they are being raised for food or for their products. For example milk eggs etc.

Rowan- she is very much homebrew probably my first homebrew character. Her race is Half human half phantom, her class is Kitsune and her background is hunter. She currently has 6 tails all pure white along with her fox ears. She has a scar on her right shoulder and her phantom has a matching one. She has a pet fox named lily. She also has firefox although it is hard to describe what firefox is.

Nix- Changeling rouge, charlatan. She is a very famous assassin although only in one of her forms. A friend of hers found a changling child in an orphanage and wanted her to come talk to them. Of course nix went to talk with the child and after talking for a while promptly adopted them.

Julius: changeling rouge, no background. Five years old at least when they were adopted they were. They are training with their mom to become an assassin like her. Of course Nix isn't the happiest about it but Julius doesnt know that. Julius goes by they/them and was originally an npc. I don't think my DM (my mom) expected me/nix to adopt them. I do occasionally get their pronouns wrong even though they are now my character I am still getting used to those pronouns.

Quaf: aaracokra monk not much to say on her even though she is level 5 there isn't really much of note at least for me

Mulan: my actual first character a human fighter who I didnt have much fun playing and had her killed off to play Sai. Later on I felt bad and had her resurrected again not much of not to me for her.

Lilith of doubt: she is an absolute mess. She was part of a campaign that went by milestones. Disclaimer, I did not and still do not really know how to multiclass I went with classes that fit what she was going through that being said she is level 20 barbarian level 6 warlock level 4 bard and level 4 druid. She was tiefling although the way the dm described it when she found her family since she was born with her horns he may have just made her be a snow elf but he never told me to changer her sheet. She was true polymorphed into a ancheint blacksteal dragon and has reached godhood. She lives in her castle in avernus although since I left that campaign I'm not sure what the DM has done with her. For me she is still at the point I was last in control of her which is what I have told you all about. Oh and she is an outlander.

Rya: class knight of the Fey. Race fey mice. She is a wanderer. Her patron is Sai.

Ea: warlock tiefling assisted the king and his mom to their kingdom and hasnt gotten played to much since

Pumpkin: tiefling cleric saved Rowan from a necromancer that raised her the wrong way making her become half human half phantom and has been adventuring ever since

Ivory: 17 year old fallen human (its a homebrew race inspired by undertale) aura guardian (homebrew class I forget if its based on anything or I just liked it) lawful good surviver, she loves painting and doing art in general and had to run from her home because of a war, she is worried about her parents but for now she has found a family not only with the main ground but with a married couple who she views as her second parents. They have been teaching her (since she hasnt gone to school) and letting her use the paint supplies from the store and even selling the paintings with her permission of course and she gets some of the earnings. Ivory's soul type is kindness

Selene: serene (homebrew race) ranger doesn't talk often and instead uses her racial ability which is basically just message chaotic good sailor

Zoi: a druid satyr who is hopeful and peppy, and got traumatized on her first adventure (another player my brother had decided his edgy character, he wanted to test out having an edgy character, would put one of the enemies heads on a pike to warn others that there was danger and fresh out of the fey wild zoi did not respond well lol my poor girl)

Characters that havnt been used enough to have a lot of information or I just don't remember anything about their adventures

Harmony: beast twin (homebrew class) lopunny (homebrew race based on Pokemon) is bonded with peace (bonded is the best way I can think to put it rn) 3'6"

Peace: a golden tiger, harmony's best friend and bassically her steed as she can go 10ft more than harmony can

Syllin moonwhisper: ranger wood elf (I haven't used her in so so long), is in a relationship with rinn

Rinn bloodeyes: dark elf monk (made by an ex and I have taken Rinn in as mine since he no longer plays dnd with me, and syllin would be lonely without him) is in a relationship with syllin

Viola: ranger half orc

Yog: fighter tortle

Dimdash: cleric hill dwarf fiesty will kill you if you annoy her...most likely

Renanajj: pegasis night (homebrew) tiger folk (probably homebrew? Cant remember)

Layla grey: Dant (homebrew race based off something I dont remember rip) beast tamer (homebrew) has a wolf dont remember his name

Aurora: veria (homebrew race) golden eyes (homebrew class) I dont even remember making her or even ever playing her

The Brothers reacting to an MC who likes to collect... rocks?

It was certainly a strange hobby to behold, but there were more than meets the eye within these rocks! If you crack them open they often hold such a wonderful design, and on the rare occasion they can probably even hide a geode or two, regardless, you were very passionate for these things and it just so happens that it catches some of the brother’s attention.

(A/N: Ill be doing 2 at the time for now UwU

~ 눈_눈 Lucifer ~

* Lucifer always kept an eye on you ever since you got to Devildom

* Cuz of this, he was probably the first to notice your... strange addiction

* He saw how you always seem to stop on your tracks to pick up a shiny smooth stone lying on the side of the gates infront of the HoL while he walked home with you.

* Or how you’d snatch a few from the gardens on an early Sunday morning when you think that everyone was still asleep

* Since it was harmless enough, he never really bothered to call you out on it

* Lowkey does find it cute how something so small can already make you so happy, such an easy-to-please cutie you are

* It wasn’t a problem till he was told that you seem to be arriving late more often for your classes

* At first he thought that maybe you were simply caught up in some mess from his brothers again

* Maybe perhaps Belphie snuck you off to sleep again than go to class

* But no, when he’d confronted you he was pretty surprised, and at the same time, confused at your answer.

* “There were these cool looking red geodes I accidentally found on the back, b-but I mustve dropped them at some point when Mammon and I were rushing to class...so I’ve been trying to look for more of them for my collection... Sorry...”

*To be fair you did look pretty apologetic for it and really didnt mean to botch up your schedule, but still.

* He lets you go pretty easily, with a small lecture, but thats about it.

* Although you never did stop looking for that geode, you even pulled Beel to help with promise of a homemade cake to try and cover as much ground, but nothing.

* You came home that day a little defeated

* but much to your surprise when you reached your room, a small box was waiting outside your door and inside was none other than the beautiful red geode youve been so desperate to look for. And... well, you didnt have to guess who was kind enough to give it to you.

* The next day, you do go over to thank him properly for the help, and explain that you had been extremely captivated with that specfic geode because of how it reminds you of the first born’s eyes.

* This boi is highkey stunned but tryna make it lowkey though (pride 100)

* Definitely amused and flattered.

* From now on, he does continue to give you geodes to add to your collection, and would even accompany you on your little endeavors if his work load isnt too unbearing. Away from the eyes of his brothers of course.

* Hed definitely want to seek the perfect geode too that reminds him of you in return that he can decorate on his desk while hes working. Even better, maybe have the geodes crafted to a perfect ring that you two can wear.

* Not like youre complaining either

* Today was another weekend, and weekends mean you guys get to hang out!

* Not like you two were ever seperated in the first place anyways, he’s like an octopus that just wont let go

* Anyways, He casually enters your room, phone in hand as he scrolls through various articles featuring his modelling work, he was gonna show off as usual, afterall, this man LIVES for your praise.

* “Oi! (Y/N) Check this out! They ranked me number 1 on the most handsome model in Devildom! And I didn’t cheat the system this ti---”

* You had been busy in your cabinet when he walked in, so you didnt have time to warn him of your mess on your bed.

* Hence why, when he was starting to brag about his latest achievement, it was immediately cut off by a pained yelp.

* Mammon, too busy on his DDD, didnt notice the shiny geodes and stones you had left on your bed to arrange for your new dsplay case, and because of this, (his dumbass) plopped on the bed, landing right on the sharp edges of the beautiful rocks.

* It wasnt fun.

* You had rushed to help him as he started stroking his back from the sting, he was a demon so he was pretty sturdy, but cmon, landing on a buncha hard rocks was still not good.

* You did rush to go get him an ice pack for his poor back, and when you came back, he seemed to have been healed almost immediately as he stares at your collection with a big shine on his own eyes, they can rival the geodes at this point.

* “(Y/N)! Why didn’t you tell me you had these? Don’t yknow how much these would sell? Hell, I can even probably sell them for an even higher price!”

* The rolling of your eyes was very intense that Diavolo could feel it from his castle and you pushed that ice pack on his face to make him stop.

* You did make it very clear that if he ever decides to try and get any of these stones, you were gonna be snitching him to Beel for eating his pudding the other day (You wouldn’t though would you?)

* Still that does shut down his money making plans, but he does question you for it, why hoard these valuable items when you could make thousands of grimm for it? You even seem to have a talent for finding these too, it seems like a huge waste, and so you proceed to explain to him your love for these shiny geodes.

* First image in his head was you being a relative to a crow, or you being a crow in general, because if anything, thats what his little crows do, they pass him shiny stuff they find along the day, of course theyre not as extravagant as these geodes, but it doesnt negate the fact you definitely have crow energy, and hes so down for it. His love for you just grew tenfold.

* But who knew it can grow further? Because you eventually explain to him that the geodes you collected, or the simple stones you had, all were special because all of them hold a special memory. One of the smoother stones you had was the same stone you used to display your mom’s favorite rose garden, it even had your initials that you scrapped on when your were 5, another was a geode you found on your field trip at the human world and so on.

* Mammon definitely had his attention to you the entire time, this boy is smitten and he just loves hearing you talk about each one, he grows a small appreciation for them now and he can understand why you wouldn’t want to sell them away. But then he noticed you reach for a much cleaner, tear drop looking geode, it was a blue-yellow mix.

* You explain to him that this was your first geode found when you went here in Devildom, the first you also carved as it was more jagged than this when you found it, and of course, you chose to keep it cause it reminded you for your first man.

* Mammon was so moved,and he was just sitting there, red as a strawberry and mouth open like a fish out of water, but hes not the only one because you too were blushing like an idiot as you held the special rock.

* He does end up trying to act his typical ways, but he was nothing but a stuttering mess, and much to his embarassment, he was also tearing up.

* Please hug him, he needs it, he just cant help but feel so flattered that you dedicated a geode for him and he felt that pride and love swell to incredible levels, you definitely have him yearning for you even more.

* Next time you go out to seek more geodes here in Devildom, he might just come with you along with his army of crows, and even cuter, his crows would just hand you special rocks every now and then.

* This boy might just start his own collection now thanks to you, but most his geodes will just be dedicated to you

Different Love Languages

Summary: Hufflepuff is the type of person to express her love verbally but Slytherin is different; he hardly says “I love you” and Hufflepuff worries that maybe it’s because he doesn’t love her as much as she loves him. Our darling puff will realize that this is simply not the case. People just have different love languages.

Hufflepuff loved Slytherin. She really did. In fact, she reminded him frequently.

“I love you,” she chortled during breakfast when Slytherin had cast a spell to make the bacon strips float around in a dancing manner so that she would cheer up after reading depressing news from the Daily Prophet. Another time, she cooed the term of endearment as he held her tightly in his arms, swaying to the sound of music in the background.

The thing was that Slytherin rarely said “I love you” in the entirety of their relationship. Instead of saying it back to her, he often replied by cupping her cheeks tenderly and leaning in for another kiss. Other times, he responded with a loving smile, his eyes glowing with warmth and infatuation.

It’s not that Hufflepuff thought Slytherin didn’t love her. She could definitely see it in the way that he looked at her, in those stolen glances when he thought she wasn’t looking. She could feel it when he held her close at night, his arms wrapped protectively around her.

However, a part of her- the small shadow of doubt within her heart that told her that Slytherin didn’t care for her as much as she did for him- just wished for some kind of affirmation, a clear signal that said, “I love you.”

One day, Hufflepuff and Slytherin sat side by side in Potions class, listening to Professor Slughorn drone on and on about Felix Felicis. She was absentmindedly staring at the board when Slytherin slid his notes in front of her so that she could see the doodle he drew on the side of his paper.

Hufflepuff bit her lip to suppress a laugh and squeezed his hand 3 times.

Unfamiliar with the motion, Slytherin asked what the squeezes meant.

“It means I love you,” she whispered. Her voice was soft so that Professor Slughorn didn’t overhear their conversation.

Nevertheless, Slytherin heard every word. A smile tugged at his lips and he immediately squeezed it back. He didn’t just stop there; he repeated the gesture about 6 times- and Potions class hadn’t even ended yet.

From that day forward, Slytherin constantly told her I love you. Sometimes he squeezed her hand randomly- before he left for Quidditch practice, during breakfast when she passed him a plate of toast, and after he walked her back to the dormitory.

Aside from that, he would occasionally tap out the gesture with his finger.

Tap tap tap.

Hufflepuff looked up from her book and made eye contact with Slytherin from across the room. She knew what it meant. She always did.

Slytherin said I love you all the time now, more often than Hufflepuff’s verbal “I love you”.

She realized that he had a different love language from her, and that was ok. It was the love itself that mattered.

On their wedding day, as the officiant performed the ceremony, Hufflepuff looked up at Slytherin with adoration. “I love you,” she whispered.

He smiled warmly at her and squeezed her hand four times.

I love you too.

You might be wondering why i wrote this one-shot. There was no special occasion this time, I just got a bonk of inspiration one day. also i felt bad for reblogging my ice skating oneshot so much (i did it to respond to other peoples reblogs) and i sent an ask to my favorite fanfic writer, asking her about what happens if i reblog my own work and if it pushes my fanfic up the algorithm, and she answered my question but also said that she usually deletes her reblogs bc her followers would probably get annoyed if they kept seeing the same work over and over again. i felt bad bc i had just done that, and i didnt want yall to constantly see the same fanfic all the time, so i wanted to give u something new. also i was thinking back on that person who said that my writing was sporadic (they werent trying to be mean). Sporadic basically means spaced out and occuring at different intervals. i felt bad bc my writing is definitely spread out by one month for some reason. im not sure what this means for next month bc i never write 2 fanfics in one month. does this mean that i wont write a fanfic for november? hopefully not. ok that sounds sad, im sure it doesnt but who knows bc the college process thingies is killing me

I wrote out the general details of the story at 1 am one night when i was trying to sleep lmaoao heres a screenshot:

This is basically how I write for most of my fanfics at first, it consists of the general info along with some specific details.

At first, the one-shot was gonna be a drabble (aka a story that’s only 100 words long) but when I finished writing it, I went to wordcounter to check the number of words and it was 500! i was like oop ok im just gonna call it a oneshot then. i wrote part of the story on sunday morning and then i went to exercise in the park with my sister. afterwards, i wanted to keep working on it but then i became swamped with college stuff so i stopped. i started writing again today (its monday, but im posting it on tuesday, aka today for you- or maybe not if ur not reading this on the day that i posted it) and i surprisingly finished- but that was probably a bad idea to be writing the oneshot during this week because i have a lot of exams, but lets look at the bright side, i finished the story!

I didn’t think of the idea completely on my own. I actually read the reddit story (found it in a thread on insta) a few years ago, and I don’t know why but I was thinking about it that night and I decided to make a one-shot out of it! Isn’t it such a sweet story (the actual story, not this)?? It would be kinda nice if I reached out to the person and said, hey i wrote a story based on you and ur husband!

Anyways, I just made a meme:

what's your favorite headcanon and what's your least favorite headcanon?

OKAY so i have two for favorite bc one of them i think technically counts as a theory bc it COULD reasonably be canon and the other one is just a hc of mine BUT

fav hc: italian is kind of a comfort language for the whole OG squad. not bc of any particular history or talent with it for most of them, but bc italian is nicky’s best language BY FAR (including english) and nicky is also somewhat slow at learning new languages-- at least in comparison to the others.

so whenever someone needs something translated or if someone -just in general- needs a complicated idea explained to them, everyone defaults to italian to do so rather than english, bc nicky is usually the one who needs said translations/explanations. and it just came to a point where they all associated explaining things like that with italian.

this results in several scenarios where nile is left staring blankly at joe/booker/andy/quynh/nicky when she asks them what something in a language She Doesnt Know means and she gets babbled at in italian (another language she doesnt know) for a solid thirty seconds

fav hc that IS ACTUALLY MORE OF A THEORY: you know how... when merrick brings up shakespheare at the penthouse joe and nicky Look(TM) at each other, and joe is like :/ and nicky is Almost Smiling... and... you know.... gina’s one tweet where she confirmed joe and nicky canonly knew shakespheare. well i have sort of read two(2) of shakespheare‘s plays and ive forgotten most of both of them

but I HAVE read shakespheare‘s Fair Youth sonnets (all like 100 something of them) and nicky being shakespheare‘s Fair Youth makes (almost) ALL THE SENSE IN THE WORLD ive got an essay in me about it. i could write a dissertation about it. aside from a couple small details it makes A LOT OF SENSE if u look at some of the sonnets. anyways so nicky is shakespheare‘s Fair Youth thats the theory

least fav hc: i. ive seen this a couple times and it boggles me. but you know the whole ‘nicky is the knife’ thing? THATS cute i dont have a problem with that, but when you see people talking abt joe and nicky cuddling + Nicky Being The Knife sometimes you see people give this weird implication that. joe and nicky spoon... Because nicky is the knife?

like obviously, nicky sleeps between joe and the door bc joe wakes up slow and nicky’s looking out for him. id argue that thats even the setup in the comic bc the one time you see joe and nicky sleeping in said comic you see nicky has his sword in arm’s reach. so like nicky positioning him and joe so that nicky is in a place to deal w incoming threats while joe is still 60% asleep: yeah alright okay good.

but i see people saying, even in the replies/tags of some of my own posts sometimes, that like. thats the reason they cuddle. like. nicky is the little spoon because hes the knife. and like..... no. they cuddle bc thats what they find. cozy.

like, they live this lifestyle where, like andy says, you get sleep where you can. their work is thoroughly exhausting, right. and theyve been together for 900 years, theyve almost certainly broken Sleeping In The Same Bed down to its bare essentials and they came out the other end of doing that spooning literally every night of their lives. what with their lifestyle and how long theyve lived i doubt theyre sleeping in ANY way besides the one that they find to be Maximum Comfy

i see people implying that the spooning is So nicky can protect joe but... nicky could protect joe at night without the spooning. they could share a bed without the spooning. joe could sleep between nicky and the wall without the spooning. as a matter of fact the spooning might make reacting to a threat even HARDER bc theyre all tangled up together. and its just weird to me that ppl can look at the Snuggles and go ‘oh theyre doing that so nicky can protect joe’ its like..... sucking all the romance out of the thing. it sounds like something a hetero historian would say.

like an art historian looking at a painting of two dudes spooning and being like ‘ah yes the warrior in the front is clearly looking out for his comrade by placing himself closer to the door--’ like nah dude theyre cuddling. like idk what people got against cuddling that theyre implying the only reason joe and nicky cuddle is strategy but ive seen it multiple times now and every time im just??? boggled

Update- Backstory hc

So since my au/fic idea is all about reversion I thought I should probably share my idea of how the boys actually were while alive? I’m calling it headcannons as I’m doing it in the partly bullet point style. And it is my own ideas.. so I mean it’s the right term i guess. However like everything I am always looking for input and opinionS / adition to the fic universe if you want to give it. Also sudgestions for other fics and art. I’m shutting up and getting into it now-

Basics-

I like the idea of 1906 gang of orphan teens from San Francisco. Even though the prequel was never technically made or adapted they do slightly hint at this in the movie itself. The boys are old however have their favorite times

David preferred the early 1900s and is dragged into the future kicking and screaming.

Marko liked the 50s

Paul was 100% a 70s person

Dwayne likes any time swing music was major.

Personality-

It’s slightly implied that vampirism can change your personality and it makes you slightly more cruel and harsh in humor/behavior. I think it definitely also amped the boys trust issues to anyone else. So this is a focus on living personality

David-

•He always had a soft spot for families, no stealing from them and after turning, no killing them. This is mainly do to the fact he was orphaned more recently then the other boys at 5-6. So he has a basic idea of what family is like.

•he was ALOT more open to show emotion rather then this stone faced blank slate. He would freak out, get angry and get excited. He was one of the younger ones being 18.

•Wildly protective, he found the other boys and he is hellbent on never losing anyone again, this causes him to not act as heavily on impulse as he used to and thinks things though. Natural leader type but not the most levelheaded as he will explode on you.

•Little bit of a romantic with to many poems stuck in his head, sees some gal (or guy) and has this sort of infatuation for a time.

•He is a lot gentler then he seams , he looks scuffy but is a charmer, a good distraction while others take from pockets. A absolute doll. Around the boys he’s more open; less fake , it’s genuine.

•extremely expressive in his eyes, if he lies outright to you, you can always see the truth in his eyes. However he isn’t one to lie much believe it or not, he prefers to be blunt lying gets you nowhere... accept when getting yourself out of trouble.

•deep rooted trust issues with anyone knew, never trusts adults. Most of them will turn you in like that.

•Marko was the first one of the guys he met, the two had been extremely close ever since, he’s his second.

Marko-

•Was a ridiculously adorable child, more of a dress up doll then a child to his parents. Rich and fancy , he was a plaything he barely remembers. However he was what one can be described as a ‘demon child’ if terrible twos wasn’t a phase. He was given up, homed rehomed etc. until he just walked out one day, streets gave him a better chance then any of that.

•David saved his life, when he left he had nothing and no idea he was a pretty little kid which may get him charity but not heat, Home or survival skills. David instantly befriended him and the two were a good team of distracting/pickpocketing. David is protective of Marko and Marko is fiercely loyal to him (this is how he came to do whatever he asked of him).

•Anger issues. He has a naturally extremely short fuse , will fight anyone and anything. He’s openly harsh to those he doesn’t know, doesn’t trust. He has the sweet appearance but not attitude, that is why he works great with David. However he’s very cheerful with the others

•Birds> people

•Touchy. He’s a very clingy sort of guy he always has Been without a distinct reason for it.

•really talkative, runs his mouth about any given topic. More to slang despite having a reach background (he was barely 2 he wouldn’t recal).

•Trust issues with anyone.

•Started dating Paul the year before they were turned. They really don’t try to hide it, Paul has always been his impulse control.

•the greatest pickpocket , also has a habit of nabbing shiny things like a crow, and will give Paul said shiny things.

Paul-

•He’s always been extremely kind, never one of those people angry at the world or trying to prove a point all he wants to do is survive. You don’t have to be cruel to live, even on the streets or sleeping on the beach. He has a winning smile and a usual soft tone.

•like David he is very protective, however he doesn’t let himself get worked up or angry instead he really just gets the others out of trouble. Serving as a voice of reason (especially for his very angry lil boyfriend)

•definitely was a supporter of ‘make love not war’ long before it ever was a statement.

•the first of his rings is this nice fading brass one Marko gave to him.

•Had always been one to slip into drug use, not from his own problems or as a escape just because he is a naturally curious person and he just ended up adicted. Opium before weed.

•a card player, unlike the others he wouldn’t pickpocket for cash or goods , he’d spend ALOT of time playing cards and betting. He cheated at times , everyone is really easy to see though. He plays with the boys and SWEARS he’s not cheating.

•golden retriever of a human being; slight trust issues but they do not rule him like the others.

•extremely hyper, always figiting, very emotional. Likely has a form of ADHD

•Second oldest after Dwayne

Dwayne-

•Also one to keep the rule of families, he had known before and is protective of children. He had a younger brother who unfortunately died.

•acts on impulse a good 99% of the time. Really gets overly excited about any given thing.

•petty. Grows angry to easily and holds a grudge for to long

•doesnt talk about his background, doesn’t talk about how he ended up where he is. Will slip and end up talking about his brother.

•he is quite kind when he wants to be like David he can be quite the charmer and the talker holding engaging conversations with strangers biting back his words watching the bitter looks in their eyes.

•also one to place bets/gamble often on his own skills and fighting

•bouncy and playful. He has two settings he either takes nothing seriously or everything way to seriously.

All-

•There is a heavy leaning towards slang and easier language, nothing formal or fancy. However Dwayne may speak more simply and Paul will follow youth.

•all are some level of touchy, though David is the lesser

"Jimin!" A voice from your left whisper-yells toward your direction. You look up from your exam paper to glance to your classmate on your left. He wears a frantic confused face, donning a 'wtf' expression and motions for you to call this 'Jimin' who was seated next to you. You do so by discretely tapping on his shoulder, earning you a flirtatious smile from 'Jimin'. You direct him to the other guy on your left. "The fuck is a Blaise Pascal?!" He asks, wide-eyed and confused, whisper-yelling. "Hell if I know!" Jimin whispers back. "He's the founder of those probability theories..." You butt in, careful not to get caught by the TA playing Candy Crush up in front. "Oh.." The two immediately returned to writing on their sheets, for real this time as they were pretending to write a few moments ago. After the exam, the two trouble-makers catch you in the hallway. They were whispering among themselves, plotting some sort of shenanigans. "Hey! L/n, right?" Not Jimin blocks your way with his gym rat physique, smiling like Snowball the bunny from The Secret Life Of Pets. "y-yes?" You nervously back off, afraid to have caused trouble even when you've done absolutely nothing. "We wanted to thank you for the tip earlier at the exam. We're still failing, but at least its a Sixty out of 100 instead of a zero." Jimin pipes in, boosting himself away from the wall he was leaning. "O-oh its fine, really, its not a big deal-" "IT IS!" Snowball yells. "You risked getting caught by TA Jung!" "Kook, focus." Jimin's tiny hand smacks Snowball's arm. "We're heading to that cafe down the street. Wanna come with? We're buying!" Jimin offers you. "Actually, I have to study-" "Great! Lets go!" Snowball's heavy arm lands on your shoulder, pulling you out of the college building. ------ You learn that Snowball's name is actually Jungkook, and that he, Jimin, and this Taehyung guy who works at the cafe, have been friends since diapers. The whole conversation on the way to the cafe was mainly centered on Taehyung. They mention him majoring in art, plays a lot of online games, is passionate about working as a barista while hating coffee, and owns a black Pomeranian dog named Yeontan. You do nothing but nod along to them, wondering why you're presented with this information. You arrive at the empty cafe, inhaling the smell of fresh coffee beans. Jimin and Jungkook seem to be regulars here as they greet the broad-shouldered manager posing by the window. "Yah, Jin-hyung what are you doing?" Jungkook asks. "I'm modelling. We need more customers and I'm sure this pretty face will bring in more patrons!" Manager Jin laughs peculiarly. "Taehyung-ah! Your finest coffee, please!" Jimin announces to the boy behind the counter who you assume to be Taehyung. His brown hair falls over his forehead, dark eyes gleam with excitement upon seeing his friends. His boxy smile grows wider upon hearing Jungkook mess with the manager. "Taehyung, This is y/n. Y/n, this is Taehyung. Taehyung, y/n wants to try your Vante cappuccino. Me and Kook are having iced matcha." Jimin quickly lets out, sliding his card to Taehyung who excitedly punches the order in. "Vante cappuccino is Taehyung's own creation. Wait, you drink coffee, right?" Jimin discretely asks you, while Taehyung busies himself making the drinks. "Uh.. yeah I tolerate it, I guess?" You answered. "Great!" Jimin motions for you to sit at the wooden seats in the middle of the cafe. Jimin continues to talk about how Taehyung puts his entire heart and soul in a coffee cup, which is apparently the secret recipe to Vante cappuccino. You wonder why Jimin and Jungkook are always talking about Taehyung as if he's running for president. There's something very off about them, you decide. Jungkook joins you minutes later, still talking about how Taehyung was an excellent student in middle school. They also mention that he's currently single for at least six times in the conversation. Your orders finally arrive and along with it came the man himself, discarding his apron to sit next to you. "Hello, I'm Taehyung." He politely introduces himself after setting the tray on the wooden desk. You introduce yourself to him, reaching over to shake his hand. Jimin and Jungkook exchange a weird look. Jungkook hands you the famous Vante cappuccino and excitedly asks you to taste it. Due to Jimin hyping up the beverage, your expectations are now incredibly high. Lifting the cup up to your lips, the three excitedly wait for your judgement. And it was... disappointing. You tried to keep your disappointed look from showing, and by the looks of it, you're doing it well. "I've never tasted anything like this before..." You say. Technically it wasn't a lie because what even was in this coffee? Motor oil? Swamp water? "Its good, right?" Jimin mischievously smiles. He knows. You nod in agreement while slurping the rest of the contents of the coffee cup, trying to push it straight down your throat for it not to linger on your taste buds, making sure not to offend Taehyung. Soon enough, the cup as been emptied. Jungkook offers you another one but you politely decline. You decide its time for you to leave. You thank them for the company and promise to see them around campus soon. Taehyung puts on his apron to continue his shift. Jimin nudges Jungkook after being left together on the table. "She's the one." Jimin says. "The one what..?" "She said Vante cappuccino was good even if it tastes like shit" Jimin whispers, careful not to let Taehyung overhear. "She's the one for our Tae." "What makes you say that?" Jungkook questions. "Vante cappuccino is the absolute worst liquid Ive ever tasted in my life, I had to pretend I hate coffee just for Taehyung to not be offended. But y/n? She took it like a soldier and even said it was good." Jimin says, gesturing wildly. "So..?" Jungkook still doesnt get it. "So that means, she wont break our Taetae's heart. I mean, she barely knows him, sure but she cares. Did you see the way she looks at him?" Jimin continues. "Dude, the last time you did this, Jisoo literally yeeted the cup away and we had to make it look like an accident. I can't believe you risked it again." Jungkook sighs. "You ungrateful shit. Someday you're gonna thank me for this!" Jimin scoffs jokingly at Jungkook. Taehyung passes by, stopping to listen to join in the conversation. "You too!" Jimin points a finger at Taehyung who was donning a confused expression, leaning his face on the mop handle he was holding while wearing a sad puppy expression. The trio were disturbed by a ding! of a cellphone. Taehyung plucks his out of his pocket to read a text from an unsaved number. "Hi! Its me y/n. Jimin gave me your number I hope you dont mind! :)" "Y/n texted me.." Taehyung mumbles. Jimin and Jungkook quickly gets up from their seats, knocking them over to the floor while shouting and high-fiving each other in celebration.

also fuck YEAH i do holy shit i fucking LOVE lisa the first!! i know its sort of the black sheep of the lisa series, since it is a completely different type of game and was clearly austins first game, but i fucking ADORE it dude. the music - which he made ENTIRELY IN THE FREE TRIAL OF FL STUDIO BY THE WAY - is FANTASTIC, the art direction is actually pretty fucking incredible for an rpgmaker game that uses a good deal of basic assets, and the gameplay.... ok yeah that part is a bit lacking but its a yume nikki-style game be nice it was his first time LMAO

ANYWAY back to ur question. first and foremost, i think this is not even a headcanon so much as straight up canon, but lisa DESPISES christianity. marty is christian, probably catholic given the golden crosses everywhere, and he is a fucking scumbag hypocrite. lisa likely associates all of christianity with this line of thinking, as there is one room in the bile area where the melted martys (although i suppose we can just call them joy mutants now LMAO) simply stand in a circle surrounding one big cross. the role of the melted martys is up for interpretation of course, as is everything, but after playing the painful and seeing them described as “mindless sheep,” i think this is how lisa viewed them. so they likely represent other people that, to lisa, are probably just as sick and disgusting as marty

lisas relationship with her mother... i go back and forth on this one a lot. i can never decide if i prefer the headcanon that lisas mom died in childbirth, and so lisa never met her, or if i prefer that lisas mom was around for a very short time and then either left or died. the fact that she says “i didnt want to leave” at the end of the first leads me to believe that she most likely died. in either case, the memory of her mother was clearly important to lisa, as she wears her pendant through the entire game and its explicitly noted as being a gift from her. in either case, i think that the death/absence of the mother is heavily implied to be the primary cause behind martys descent into alcoholism and lisas abuse, since the white room strongly implies that marty did at one time sincerely love and care for her as a father properly should

as for the meaning of each of the rooms, i think most of them are fairly self explanatory, but some of them are a bit more vague, so ill break it down in terms of how i see it (and ill put them under the cut because its long as hell):

martys house - this is the most literal one. pretty self-explanatory. the dark, yet vibrant colors and the ear-bleedingly loud tv are pure sensory overload, something lisa probably deals with on a regular basis. when lisa goes outside and it turns into a sky of marty faces, i think this is the transition into the psychological part of the game

the lobby - this is honestly just pure yume nikki ripoff LMAO... but if i had to ascribe a symbolic meaning to it, i think its probably a quiet and safe area for lisa to retreat to in her mind when she needs it, but even that eventually gets sullied as tricky rick makes his way there, too (and tells her hes “just waiting” when she talks to him). the majority of gameplay is lisa searching for items with which to kill tricky rick, who always abuses and disparages her whenever she talks to him, telling her she’ll never forget. as for the reason why... well, take one look at him and its pretty clear whats going on there. (the name is also a reference to richard nixon, whose nickname was... well, you can figure it out!)

the town - the bar area is 100% my favorite from this world; lisa clearly hates alcohol and anyone who drinks it, associating them all with marty, and that music... all i can say is YUCK. the entire section also consists of lisa having to give up something in exchange for what she needs to move on, and usually getting the raw end of the deal out of it (she gives one marty a banana, he gives her a banana peel in return). she does all that while avoiding a marty following her outside who repeatedly tells her “you cant escape,” and upon reaching tricky rick (who is atop a narrow, columnar, PINK mountain), it becomes pretty clear whats happening to her.

the sea room - fucking marty spiders man. im assuming they represent the sickly feeling of crawling skin she gets when she looks at him or is anywhere near him, but holy GOD they are annoying to deal with. she kills tricky rick with pills here - we dont know what kind of pills these are, but i interpret them as sleeping pills, and given the rumbling music and the rapid cycling marty background, i wonder if he forced her to take these. marty is everywhere here, but the only one she can speak to is seen chilling on a raft of some kind. marty likely spent much of his time recreationally, i.e. drinking, so it makes sense why this would be here

the rope room - theres no symbolism here this is just pure comedy (LMAO). if i HAD to assign some meaning to this area, it would be that lisa likely is so despondent at this point that putting in effort to do anything feels utterly pointless, much like climbing this long-ass rope was

the white room - as i mentioned earlier, i personally believe that this area depicts the previous relationship between marty and lisa (and also has one of my favorite songs in the game). he is shown doing traditional fatherly things - he is no longer wearing sunglasses and is wearing a suit, meaning he was likely employed, and is actually smiling. he also spends time with her in a completely platonic, familial way. when she interacts with him, there is a little heart over his head. after lisa walks through the golden statues (which will reappear later), the entire world becomes filled with bile, and martys appearance returns to that of the other martys, but with an extremely warped, grotesque face. the item she needs in this area to kill tricky rick is found between two golden crosses.

notice that all of the items she kills tricky rick with - a razor, pills, and now a plastic bag - are things that a child could plausibly get their hands on; none of them are explicitly weapons. i think this shows both her age and how often she must have considered using those things against him.

the bile room - probably my favorite area in the game, and also features what i consider the quintessential lisa song. this area really drives home lisas disgust with marty and with christianity as a whole - it almost certainly has the highest concentration of crosses, and it is also quite literally covered in wall-to-wall bile, dirty water, and disgusting houses. a lot of the most graphic sights, like the melting martys and the pond martys (no idea what to call them LMAO) are here, so i think this is pretty much the lowest circle of hell for lisa. marty gives lisa a freshly cut finger in exchange for a napkin here; im not necessarily sure what that represents, but i think the napkin was used by marty to masturbate (as he says “i needed that” after he takes it), so perhaps the finger is martys?

lisa kills tricky rick here in a cave that is not-so-subtly shaped like a penis, and gets a vhs tape in which he pretty explicitly states what is going on in the game; he even pretends like he doesnt know who lisa is at first, which somehow makes it even more disgusting. the fact that vhs tapes play a role here sort of makes me wonder if marty really WAS filming some of what he was doing, and given that lisa the joyful confirms that brad was forced to somehow participate in lisas abuse, that is.... horrific to think about, honestly

the marty tape - this tape just has the player (as marty) walk up to lisa and suited marty, who are having a tea party with a plastic tea set. they both get hearts over their heads if you talk to them. i think this drives home that he and lisa did once have a normal relationship, and perhaps theres some part of marty who misses that? theres a LOT of ways you can interpret this; having the player become marty really calls a lot into question.

the mansion - the room leading here has a marty staring directly at the player who informs lisa that she needs a sword to progress. unsubtly, the sword must be placed into the crotch of a womans statue. the mansion inside is beautiful and ornate, and easily the most gorgeous area in the game - and it all leads to what appears to be a proto-joy mutant marty, sort of looking like jabba the hutt. i dont doubt that this is intentional, given that jabba the hutt is associated with slave leia, and its not at all a far leap to call lisa martys slave. the golden statues of women, as well as many golden crosses, are everywhere in this area. its actually quite a large space with a lot of thought put into it, so im really upset that i cant figure out more of what it represents LMAO

the final area - lisa seems to go back to her actual house, but upon leaving her room and entering whether the living room would be, the whole area changes. she encounters herself in a blood red room, but when she talks to the other lisa, she turns into marty. i think this represents a clear question - who is lisa without him? IS she anyone? or is she just a vessel for him to do with what he pleases? she encounters a naked marty telling her to give up shortly after, and flees from him, but is followed by voices repeatedly telling her that she must accept her fate. i think this clearly show the mental state of lisas last days. she was tormented, eternally. she truly felt there was no escape from marty. even the background becomes nothing but martys face, over and over again, as the end screen flashes.

at the end text, she finds a video tape, and in the tape sees someone who is ostensibly her mother from behind. she apologizes for not being there for her, but when that figure turns out, its martys face that she sees. the sky turns into marty. the music becomes corrupted and overrun with pretty fucked up laughter. she tries to run, but marty is already everywhere. theres nowhere for her to run. and then the game is over.

note that the video tape comes AFTER the games end screen, which stops not long after the appearance of the naked marty. so i personally believe that the “game over” represents her deciding to take her own life, rather than just give up and accept her fate. by running from him into the blackness, she got away from marty the only way she could have. it is sad and horrible, but that is honestly the best ending that she could have gotten in this game.

the first is definitely not as good as the painful in terms of gameplay, that much i can agree on, but i really think people miss out on a lot by not playing it. i think its really crucial to see lisas life from her own perspective before you can see it from brads - after all, brad may have known more than anyone else about what was going on, but he did not experience it like lisa did. for brad, lisa is a symbol of his own regrets and failures, but lisa was a PERSON (well, in-universe anyway LMAO). she suffered on her own, with pretty much no one to help her, and then she suffered so much that she couldnt take another second of it.

my own hibari headcanons

[reposting because of adult terminology crimes, lol]

been meaning to write down my list of hcs for a while anyway, and now i have the occasion to get to it! among the others im gonna add what i decided to avoid putting under this post and give more details about what i already wrote there

content/trigger warnings: death, assassination, mental illness, eating disorders

the list will be under the cut! it excludes my strictly shippy hcs and i may update it over time

first things first. like my own blog title suggests, i hc hibari as a trans guy. i’m trans myself, so this is arguably the hc of mine im the most attached to for personal comfort reasons LOL. it all started when i read a fic about trans hibari a few years ago and later on i got more and more fond of this transcanon, becoming 100% personal. i also hc that he doesnt feel dysphoric. as for his sexuality i hc him as gay

we know that hibari and fon are relatives. my idea is that they’re step-brothers (different mother), and long lost to that. NOW. i realize that with the assumption of fon’s age, them being siblings is unlikely, but it shouldn’t be impossible. their father could be old enough. he got married to a chinese woman who gave birth to fon, then divorced, then got married again to a japanese woman, kyouya’s mom. (i kinda based this on my irls situation, where because of the parents’ second marriage there is at least a good 20 years of gap between the oldest and youngest sibling)

the hibari family was part of the yakuza. to answer a question that was made to me: i agree that hibari “just liking fighting” isnt funny at all. i heavily believe that there’s a psychological reason to his behavior but im going to talk about this in another point below. i also think that hibari was probably the heir to the clan, but here in my head hibari is still too young for it, like 5-6 years old.

when hibari was a child his parents got killed in the hibari household. how could they get killed in their own house, didn’t they have enough protection? they did. but the guard was low considering who turned out to be their murderers were old, trusted allies. kyouya only survived because he managed to hide properly and long enough. he didnt witness the assassination but he did see his parents in a pool of blood after everything ended. before dying, his mom left a last message to him: be stronger than anyone else. because of the trauma, even in the present hibari avoids going back to that house as much as he can and especially he never reopens the door of the crime scene. hibari also still grows into a delinquent, but he dislikes the mafia world and wishes he didnt have to be involved with it

for a while, hibari is in fon’s mother’s custody. here is when he meets fon for the first time, over time they get very attached to one another, but because of the arcobaleno matters, fon goes disappearing, and hibari ends up assuming fon has died and left him behind just like this parents did. fon reappears and goes to meet hibari in occasion of the arcobaleno representative battles and of course wit trauma resurface and about 10 years of beliefs and assumptions hibari really, really struggles with this reunion, but eventually they bond again. (for this one i dont take into account the events in the anime only arcobaleno trial events, as well as the fact that we see all the arcobalenos revived at the end of the future arc)

hibari has an antisocial personality disorder (which implies he already had conduct disorders before the age of 15). it explains his violent and criminal behavior, as well as the fact that he doesn’t feel guilty for anything he does. he also suffers from ptsd and has eating disorders (i thought about the avoidant food intake, where, among the other symptoms, a person avoids to extreme levels some types of food because of characteristics such as their pattern or their color and generally lacks appetite/interest in food)

(wears my enneagram nerd hat) HIBARI IS A TYPE EIGHT. 8w7 precisely, aka the maverick. all about type eight is basically a call out to hibari lmfao but here’s the most relevant characteristics: eights are the real stand-alones of the enneagram. eights’ basic fear is to be harmed and controlled by others, and they steel up to prevent their basic fear from happening (or happening again). below the tough facade there is a vulnerability that cant be shown to anyone. their virtue is innocence, an innocence that they once and forever lost, and hibari basically lost it when his family was assassinated. eights are also associated to the deadly sin of lu st. for hibari its not necessarily the ns fw kinda lu st, rather bloodlu st. and its one big paradox because eights want to be in control of their surroundings, but being consumed by lu st means being under something/someone else’s control (and so we’re back to the basic fear). unhealthy eights are violent, despotic, reckless. all things we see in hibari. very unhealthy eights are also those who typically may develop the antisocial disorder, reason why i listed it above

since he wants to dominate his environment, hibari controls over the namimori and especially the school to feel “security”. he managed it through illegal means and pretty much lives in the school, namichuu is also one of the few places where usually he can sleep without having nightmares

yes, hibari loves sleeping but also he gets nightmares about his past more often than not

but i also love imagining hibari gradually healing and recovering from his trauma, so i do hc that in adulthood he’s mentally doing better. he can be a leader without being tyrannical. he can be strong while also acknowledging his own vulnerability. he is able to love again, too

the reason why he has a soft spot for little animals and children, like we see for ipin, is that he (unconsciously?) sees in them the innocence he himself lost. plus tiny and cute things help him cope when he is having episodes

he also treats ipin well because she is fon’s pupil. and i love to think of them as a little family

if hibari has a ring he really likes or is emotionally attached to he makes sure to never wear it on his fingers so he doesnt risk breaking it with his flames

hibari is pretty much a nerd, in his own twisted way. i mean. he’s seen reading in a bunch of official arts and we know that he’s very fond of the wonders of the world, he started up the foundation for his box researches and he knows well how illusions work - which means he studied them. since he was moved by his hatred towards mukuro, his illusion studies must have reached an unhealthy level, becoming an obsession

fon trained hibari on how to fight against illusions as well

for hibari, finding out he has mist flames too was very much of a shock, but he eventually accepts it. he only uses those flames if really needed (like the foundation entry camouflage)
