There's obviously lots of speculation about what happens to Laudna's warlock powers with Delilah "gone" - possibly a new patron (with an appropriate subclass) or just Laudna not being able to gain new warlock levels (or just losing them entirely and be a lower level than everyone, but ew).

One possibility I haven't seen: Delilah was holding her back.

That, like she did with the gnarlrock, Delilah has been siphoning off some of Laudna's power to sustain her. Her warlock abilities were just a corruption/echo of what she should have as a full sorcerer. It's a nice thematic way to explain her only having access to lower level spells/having fewer spell slots because of the multiclass.

I've always thought that it didn't seem like Laudna coming back was because of Delilah's power. It was just her spell that boosted Laudna's inherent ability to come back (basically Strength of the Grave turned up to 11 allowing her to come back days later).

So without Delilah bothering her, she's full shadow sorcerer. Still creepy and a bit death-like (thanks to the nature of being a shadow sorcerer) and maybe with access to some thematic warlock spells (to make things interesting and differentiate her from Imogen).

I just like the idea of Laudna finding out she doesn't owe Delilah for her new life. She was just a parasite that hitched a ride.

Cannot stop thinking about an au where Turnabout Trump doesn't happen/happens but Olga is convicted instead so Apollo is still working at the Gavin law offices for his first few cases. He meets Trucy at one of the crime scenes and she tags along on his investigations, but she doesn't tell him about her connection to Phoenix until after their first case together. Ema likes Apollo less at first bc she doesn't like the fop and you work for his brother, who she also hates bc he's very condescending when he cross examines her in court.

When you meet Klavier in the second case you can ask Kristoph about him and vice versa. They don't interact with each other but you get to learn some more things about the brothers, their opinions on each other and their backstory. You also find out that Klavier was the one who got Phoenix disbarred and Kristoph is apologetic about it, given that Phoenix is his "friend" (though they haven't interacted at all since phoenix was found not guilty).

At one point Trucy is visiting Apollo at the Gavin Law Offices when Kristoph returns and "politely" kicks her out. She then reveals to Apollo who the daddy she keeps talking about actually is. You get to meet Phoenix again in the next case and find out more about the incident 7 years ago.

Over the course of the game you/Apollo starts to grow more suspicious of Kristoph and his intentions, alongside a growing sense of horror that you got an innocent person convicted in your first case. It all comes to a head in Succession when Drew Misham finally uses the stamp, which turns up fixed to a letter in the Gavin Law Offices postbox that Apollo collects on his way in one morning. You hand it to Kristoph and he promptly disappears with it, feigning excuses. Phoenix uses this case to finally spring his trap and test the jurist system. Kristoph gets the double whammy of his brother and mentee turning on him at once and the murder of Shadi Enigmar is properly resolved. It's also revealed that Trucy started tagging along on Apollo's investigations to collect intel for Phoenix.

At the end of Succession, Apollo is offered a role at the newly-renamed Wright Anything Agency and there's a final rise from the ashes-style case that serves as Apollo's first proper case as an official WAA employee and helps tie up some loose threads/lets the characters deal with the fallout of Succession.

Idk I just think it'd be fun/satisfying to realise slowly that there's more to everything than meets the eye.

Free Flying Graysons (Feat. Ghostly John and Mary Grayson)

Hey, what if when Freakshows staff and control on the Ghosts in his circus broke and all the Ghosts (but Lydia who seems to be loyal to that clown) ran off, what if two ghosts stayed behind to thank the two teens (Danny and Sam) for freeing them. And maybe ask the Ghost boy a small favor to relay a message to their still living son.

What if those two were The Flying Graysons, John and Mary. (They did die tragically and I wouldn't put it passed Freakshow to try to take control of the best of the best circus preformers)

What if when they follow Danny after he flies Sam and himself to safety.

What if they see him detransform into his human half and are struck with how much Danny looks like their son.

Is he related to the Graysons? Idk. Could Danny be a long lost son in this AU? Maybe? We could always make him Dick's unknown son if we want. Just throwing out ideas rn. Any work.

still a hardcore believer in the "totk was absolute development hell" theory btw, even if I know it will never be confirmed or denied, but all the signs are there honestly

I'm walking. Fast. The world is tilted. There's green peaking up from flat gray. Short, stubby moss. Like an ooze. Like the sidewalk is compressing it sideways. Persistent even in a concrete jungle. This little thing. This tiny thing. Reaching up toward the sun from under trampling feet. Toward a distant star. And I'm walking, but I'm light through a prism. Splitting seven different directions. A billion and a billion and a billion years brought this tiny crumpled organism to the crushing weight of my foot. And I want to scream and I want to run and I want to cry. Because it's beautiful and I'm worried I'm the only one who sees it. I'm worried it'll burn through me. I'm worried that when I walk this path for my hundred thousandth time, I won't see it like I did this first time. That my world will fall to ash again and I won't see the moss growing up between the seams in the sidewalk.

#maybe the real sub was the cia analyst we met along the way #the hunt for red october #jack ryan #marko ramius #bart mancuso #this scene is so much and it's ramius continuing to be smart but he's also so funny #like. there was plenty of time!! he could have told them about the safety in the torpedo!! but he didn't 🤪#he wanted to see if the americans as a whole trusted him #and he also wanted to see if ryan as an individual trusted him #and this is AGAIN ryan going on his instinct up against mancuso's training #and trusting ramius--who he had met ONCE prior to this #and because ryan chooses to trust him (and saves everyone's lives since they wouldn't have outrun the torpedo)#ramius trusts him in return in the missile bay #AND ALSO from mancuso's pov #we get ryan making again another bonkers decision that paid off but even once the torpedo bounces off the boat #mancuso is still super cautious and doesn't fully trust ramius and his officers (“he won't change his mind huh ryan??” in the shootout)#until he sees ramius' reaction to borodin's death and it's like a flip switched so he hands ramius his gun #ray.gif

#are they good not really no. are they boring yes. but they're kinda fun to watch idk😭#i'm only on like the second not that good episode though maybe i'll get tired of it #the first time i watched the show i watched it all in like four days because i really wanted to watch fire walk with me and thirty episodes #in four days isn't even that crazy but i couldn't do it now because i have school and stuff...#i actually also had school then but it was during covid not during a lockdown (we had a second lockdown like a month after) but my #university was doing a thing where half of the students had class in person and the other half had class at home and then we'd switch and i #watched it during a week where i was home because i was NOT working. and so i watched the second half of season 2 quickly even though i was #like oh this. well it's not good exactly.#then fire walk with me made me want to kill myself and i started watching twin peaks the return but i only finished watching that this #summer hihi haha😁#anyway #and like i say: brf slt

I’ve been trying to track Jonathan’s escape route and I might be getting this wrong but:

The way he got to Dracula’s castle:

-Buda-Pesth to Klausenburgh (train)

-Klausenburgh to Bistritz (train, which arrives late)

-Bistritz through “Mittel land” to the beginning of Borgo Pass/Carpathian mountains (large coach)

-through Borgo Pass and then “down a narrow roadway which ran sharply to the right” to eventually arrive at Count Dracula’s castle (private coach)

The way he escaped Dracula’s castle:

-scaling the wall

-???

-Bistritz to Klausenburgh (train, speculation based off of him wanting “the quickest and nearest train”)

-Klausenburgh to Buda-Pesth (train)

“He came in the train from Klausenburg, and the guard was told by the station-master there that he rushed into the station shouting for a ticket for home.”

So for that ??? part, he either walked the whole way back or found a coach somewhere along the way.

Here is an approximate map of Jonathan’s travels. All the way on the left is Budapest. That entire green bumpy region is the Carpathian Mountains. The Count locates himself on the East Carpathian mountains somewhere between Transylvania, Bukovina, and Moldavia (the red and purple dots).

The Red dot is also Klausenburg (Cluj-Napoca), the Orange dot is Bistritz (Bistriţa), and the Yellow dot is the beginning of the Borgo Pass (Tihuța Pass).

The black circled region is my broad guess at where Count Dracula’s castle is. Dracula refers to the location as Transylvania, so it’s probably not too close to the Moldavian border (though it could also be that Dracula considers himself Transylvanian and therefore also considers his house Transylvanian regardless of region).

I wanted to see how long it would take for Jonathan to get to the Bistritz station on foot, but I didn’t want to pick a random location in the circled region, so I just looked up the distance between Bistritz and the beginning of the Borgo Pass.
