dressrosa/donquixote brothers brainrot incoming
i feel like the reason that a lot of rosi-focused fan content doesn't hit for me is that he's so woobified. like yeah he's definitely the better father figure to law but he also beat kids (even if his intentions were good in a weird shounen logic way lol) and repeatedly retraumatized law out of what was imo an ultimately selfish desire to prove his brother wrong--i genuinely cannot see a way that path would have ended well, even if doflamingo never intervened.
plus in light of doffy's grooming by vergo and trebol et al i think it's a lot more narratively interesting to ask how being raised by the navy would affect rosinante, possibly in a similar way. like we see him die *just* as he's getting a taste of the personal agency that his brother's had for years so we never get to fully see him through the repercussions of his own trauma, but even though from what i understand we don't really *know* whether sengoku raised rosi with the intention of sending him back to the donquixotes as a spy, it does create an interesting contrast where both brothers are being played against each other by outside parties using their respective senses of justice.
not trying to downplay that doflamingo is a fucked up guy who does fucked up things but i think it's weird that so many fics treat him as this utter monster while rosi gets to be, like, a normal dude. and i think that's because we see doffy at his absolute worst while rosi has always been filtered through law's grief and nostalgia. but at the end of the day they're way more interesting to me as narrative foils to each other, brothers who have been manipulated for most of their lives by forces outside of their control. it's not that they don't have agency but their relationship is so deeply defined by the terms of their separation as teenagers and i want to see rosi's side of that period and its consequences explored more.
idkidk not really sure what i'm getting at here i just wish that rosi was more interesting to me than he is lol. i know it's just because he wasn't around for long but imo he has so much untapped potential compared to the rest of the whole doffy/law/rosinante triangle. if you know any good darker/psychological, corazon centric fics please send them my way <3

my favourite thing about chuuya nakahara is that he's just kind of. chill. about everything. he's like, my tragic backstory has no hold on me, i went to therapy and i'm all good now. i'm a bad guy cuz it pays good and my found family happens to be here. what do you mean that's not a good reason, you a cop or something?
someone will betray him and he'll go ok well that's pretty upsetting. they probably had a good reason though. i'll forgive them if they let me get a good punch in. if they're really just a hater they're giving me bad vibes and i don't wanna deal with 'em at all tbh.
things have been done to him that would warrant a lifelong crusade of revenge for anyone else, but for chuuya nakahara it's just, that was super not cool but i'll let it slide if you get therapy with me.
chuuya is down for any crime and thinks moral boundaries are for losers and stuff but he's the nicest guy in the port mafia when it comes to not mistreating his subordinates and probably helps old ladies cross the street. he shows up for a solid 10-20 minutes of screentime per season and makes all the fans fall in love with him while doing the bare minimum, and despite technically being a villain i don't think he's worked against the agency a single time (although to be fair this is often not on purpose). he also does the bare minimum every time he's asked to help in-universe and clearly isn't even trying, and he sweeps anyway because he is ridiculously overpowered and could probably kill literally everyone if he actually wanted to, and i just. no one is doing it like him. you go you unbothered king.

Happy Leap Year + Happy Year of The Dragon + Happy Birthday Hiccup!!! 🎉✨
I know this is not confirmed on the movies or anything, but I guess it's the closest I can get to Hiccup's birthday so I'll take it.
I'll also take the chance to talk a lil about my feelings below, pardon meee
I've been liking httyd since it first came out, I remember being a kid and not understanding half what what's going on with the movie but there where dragons so I couldn't give a shit. I don't remeber my first time watching httyd2 but I fucking wish I did, the only one I remember watching for the first time is httyd3 cuz I went to the cinema and cried a fucking toooon, also got the only official merch I had and it's a pop corn bowl hell yeah.
Anyways, even when I have loved it my whole life, there have only been few times I've got hyperfixated on it, I think this is like the fourth/fifth time or smth, but it's the first time making content and posting :) and I didn't imagine there would be people out there who could care about it. I'm here to thank all that people, all of you thank you for liking my stuff and for reblogging with all that funny and caring tags, I read all of them, sometimes take some pictures of them bc of how much of an impact they made me feel, I wish there were a easy way to answer to them :') Httyd means a lot to me and I genuinely think it has formed some of me as a person through the years. I could write about it all day but this is getting so loNG IM SORRY, one day I could write more about it maybe, but till then, letting you know I care about this way too much and thank you so much for the support, love y'all ❤ Happy Birthday Hiccup

Just read the comic where Joker runs into Robin!Tim for the first time post Ethiopia and starts raging about “How are you back!? I killed you! I killed you! No matter, just gotta do it again then!”
And it got me thinking again about how similar Tim and Jason must have looked in costume and just—
(Look I’m not saying there was a part of Bruce that was comforted by having “Jason” close again but—-)
