thoughts on passing privilege? ive seen it tossed around a lot
honestly, i think most discussions about passing privilege (in terms of queerness and transness, as i’m assuming that’s what you’re referencing) are fucking annoying and lack so much nuance. so many of them focus on hypotheticals rather than reality. a bi woman could date a man. but she also could date a woman or she could be very butch or very open about being bisexual. a trans man could pass as cis. but he could also not go on t or he could go on t and wear a dress or he could be very open about being trans. “could” means absolutely nothing when someone’s actual lived reality doesn’t reflect that “could.” some bi women and trans men do feel like they have passing privilege, and that’s fine. but their experiences aren’t representative of all bi women and trans men.
also i have a huge problem with the way people present street harassment as like The Truest Form Of Queerphobia bc y’all i promise you are more likely to experience life altering homophobia or transphobia from a doctor or employer or teacher or family member than you will from a stranger on the street, especially if you’re white. this framing also really fucking sucks for groups like bisexual women and trans men who both experience extremely high rates of abuse and sexual assault, but those statistics are constantly being dismissed bc “well ur not literally being murdered in the street so!!!!!!!!!” (as if the people they’re talking about who are actually being murdered in the street aren’t black and brown people, but i guess that ruins the White Woman Victim Fantasy that fuels the true crime industry…)
also as per usual it’s just a bunch of white queer people playing oppression olympics and expecting people to be able to chop their identities into pieces for tumblr analysis. you’ll just sit there and watch white woman after white woman tell a black man he’s privileged because a stranger on the street won’t call him a dyke for holding hands with his girlfriend, meanwhile he’s just trying not to make eye contact with cops because they might shoot him in front of his kids for looking at them wrong.
so yeah i think the vast majority of the time it’s just a bunch of white queer people arguing about who gets the Most Oppressed gold star while ignoring any and all nuance and intersectionality like the plague. we should be able to have conversations about how some people are in more danger in public because of features they can’t or choose not to change, but the internet is the internet.

Warm Me Up
Tumblr media
Summary: Illyria is cold, Rhys has some ideas on how to stay warm.
Content Warnings: Smut; dirty talk; little bit of cursing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Illyria was a wasteland, nothing but frigid mountains and harsh winds, you'd never understood how anything survived here. Your mate had flown you in an hour ago, you'd immediately had to sit in front of the cabin's fireplace, smothered in blankets, a warm cup of tea in your hands to avoid your teeth chattering and your fingertips from turning blue. The boys were somehow training outside shirtless. You could see them from the window, sparring, even as the relentless wind continued to beat against the windows.
You furrowed deeper into your mountain of blankets, still so damned cold. How were they managing that? How had Cassian survived his childhood, alone and hungry in this for so long? Was there something built into Illyrians to help them survive?
You tapped a mental hand against the bond hesitantly, worried you might distract your mate and he'd get hurt... again. Rhys had gotten used to your random questions, but thd first couple of times had been so sudden he'd lost focus, Az had clipped him across the shoulder, drawing blood. It hadn't even scarred, had healed with the help of his powers in less than hour. He'd probably forgotten about it. You hadn't.
Your mate responded with a gentle caress against your mental shields, like he'd brushed a hand over you mind, urging you to come forward.
"Do Illyrians run hot?" You asked.
A dark chuckle ran across the bond, sending a shiver over your spine. "Why don't you come out here and find out?"
You rolled your eyes. "And freeze to death? No thank you."
"It's not even snowing yet.," he let your peer through his eyes, the landscape dripping from yesterday's rain, but it was more mud than anything.
"I've seen warmer places in the Winter Court."
"There are plenty of ways to stay warm up here," Rhys purred, his voice a playful caress against your mind. "You're welcome to join us in the birken when we're done."
"And leave the safety of my little nest by the fire? I'll have frostbite by the time I make it there."
"Give me five minutes." The bond snapped closed and then Cassian was screaming obscenities from where they were sparring near the side of the cabin.
"THAT'S CHEATING YOU BASTARD!" Azriel shouted.
"RHYSAND I CAN'T FUCKING SEE!"
You pulled the comforter off the top of your head to try and get a good look through the closest window, but there was nothing but darkness against the glass. It was still too early in the day for the sun to be going down, the darkness outside rattling against the windows like a harsh wind. Rhys very rarely unleashed that much power, but you felt your own flare to life in your chest at the sight of it. Like calls to like, and your starborn powers had always risen to the challenge it found in Night Triumphant.
It wasn't even a full five minutes before the back door was thrown open so fast the old wood cracked against the wall. The wind came in with it, making you burrow deeper into your mound of blankets to avoid it.
Rhys must have kicked off his boots at the door, because you heard it slam shut and then nothing until large hands settled on your blanket clad shoulders.
You jumped with a shriek of surprise that had your mate bending over the back of the couch to kiss your barely exposed forehead apologetically, his skin colder than the wind beating against the walls.
"Ack! You're an ice cube!" You hissed, twisting to get away.
He chuckled as he pulled away and went to the closet near the front door.
"Don't bother, I've already raided it," you warned.
He opened it anyway, then frowned at all the empty shelves. "You weren't kidding." His next move was to go to the stack of wood neatly organized by the fire place and throw more in, the blaze illuminating the sharp planes of his face. He wasn't wearing a shirt, training leathers hanging low on his hips, a fine sheen of sweat making his bronze skin glow in the firelight.
Under normal circumstances, you would have jumped right on him, ran your tongue over his abs, traced the swirl of ink across his chest. Something about him in leathers made you weak in the knees, all rational thought out the window. The only thing keeping you in place this time was the thought of loosing the little pocket of warmth you had created.
He felt your gaze of course, turning away from the fire to look at you. "Better?" His voice had gone down an octave, his pupils dilating.
"Little," you admitted, though him being so close, looking like that might have been more of a reason for the heat you were starting to feel than the fire.
He walked to you slowly, intently, violet eyes fixed on you.
Your heartbeat quickened in your chest as he knelt in front of you.
"Think you can make room for me in there?" He kept his hands on the top blanket of your little cocoon, waiting for permission.
"I don't know, how cold are you?" You teased; this would be the last little bit of your resolve.
He slid a hand under the blankets, fingers dragging up slowly, intently over your calves.
"Cold," you whimpered, but the shiver that ran through you had nothing to do with the temperature, not as he traced his way up your thighs, only stopping when he found the hem of your sweater.
He leaned and pressed a gentle kiss to the tip of your nose first, then the corners of your lips, his breath warm against your face, the contrast between the two temperatures making your head spin. You wanted to reel away and lean in all the same time.
"Just for a second," he promised, "then I'll get you nice and warm."
You opened the blanket, and that intense violet gaze took stock of your attire: His old sweater, so loose and baggy it looked like a dress on you, and knee high, fuzzy pink socks. Pants had felt like a waste of time, not when sifting through the dresser meant time spent away from the fire.
Rhys all but jumped on top of you, pushing you down into the couch cushions, the blankets tangling between you as he crashed his lips against yours.
Rhys, as High Lord, was always so poised and put together, everything about him calculated and curated to create the necessary masks of court duties; but alone, like this, when it was just the two of you, no masks necessary, he let that unending restraint slip, kissing you and running his hands over your body like a man starved. His tongue swept into your mouth as he slid a hand under your sweater, deft fingers dragging up your skin to cup your breast.
He'd kept his promise about the cold, you'd only felt it for a moment before he'd settled between your legs, using a bit of magic to untangle the blankets and rearrange them over the two of you. You ran a hand through his hair, scraping your nails lightly over his scalp as he playfully gave your nipple a tug.
"Better?" He rasped, lips barely off yours like he couldn't bear to be that far from you.
The warmth of his weight on top of you would have been enough, but the way he kept running his hands over any bit of you he could reach, the way he kissed you again and again and again was enough to make you forget you had ever been cold in the first place.
"Much better," you confirmed as he broke away to nip at your neck.
He chuckled as you arched into his touch; whimpering lightly as his tongue laved over the sting of his teeth on your throat.
"Can't decide," he murmured into your skin, "if I should fuck you in my sweater or not?"
Heat coiled between your legs, even further when he rocked his hips into your center, even with the clothes separating the two of you, the friction was enough to make you moan.
He nipped under your jaw, "Look so pretty in it, but I gotta get you all warmed up don't I? My poor little mate, not used to the cold."
Now that he was with you, you wanted, needed, every bit of contact with his body you could get. The sweater, so warm and comforting before, now felt like a tremendously itchy obstacle keeping you from him. "Want it off," you complained, trying to find your voice around another moan as he rutted his hips into you again, hard even through his leathers.
He chuckled as he fisted the hem and started pulling it up your body. "Wear it again for me later?"
You nodded as he pulled it over your head and tossed it over the back of the couch. Distantly, you hoped Rhys had the good sense to send his brothers away for a little while since you had stopped hearing them moving around outside, but had no time to ask as he started kissing his way down your body, pausing to give some attention to your peaked nipples. A whine tore from your throat as he swirled his tongue over one and then the other.
"Love when you make those little noises for me," he purred into your mind, not wanting to remove his lips from your body to speak.
"Rhys," you whimpered, body arching into him as he nipped at your sensitive skin.
"You're gonna look so pretty, all marked up under my sweater later," he sent an image of you, covered in hickeys from your throat to your hips down the bond as he continued to move slowly down your body.
Rhys liked to push you, liked to see how worked up he could get you, first with that silver tongue of his, then his hands, he could keep this up for hours. You, however, where so desperate for more friction, to fill the ache now burning between your legs, bucked your hips, squirming underneath him now. "Please. Need you."
He scraped his teeth along he hem of your underwear, humming his approval. Rhys grinned against your skin, all male satisfaction as he held your hips in place. "So impatient. I thought you were freezing to death in here? Don't you want to get warm, Darling?"
Warm? Your skin was on fire in every spot he had touched, the warmth of his body spreading to every point of contact he gave. It was becoming too much and not enough, you needed more, more, more.
"Please!"
He caught the hem of your panties in his teeth and pulled them slowly down your hips, hands skimming your hips and thighs, kneading soft skin. Your legs widened for him automatically, instinctively, despite the fact that you were now uncomfortably wet from his ministrations.
He ran his tongue against your center, humming his approval, blasting it down the bond. "So wet, and I've barely even touched you."
You pinched your eyes shut, overwhelmed already. He really was too damn good at this. No amount of time would ever be enough to satisfy the well of need you had for him. You blasted that desperation, that ache for him right down the bond as words failed you, as he continued his exploration of your dripping core with his tongue. Stars erupted behind your closed eyelids as he chuckled down the bond, pleased with your reactions to his body.
You were sure you were begging for him, whimpering and pleading nonsense as he worked you closer and closer to the edge, but the words faded in and out of your consciousness. There was only Rhys, the movements of his tongue, the feeling of his fingertips digging pleasantly tight in your hips, the heat of skin wherever it touched you. Your eyes rolled back into your head, body arching, hands tangling in his hair as the edge rose up to meet and you and you toppled over it with a scream that sounded an awful lot like your mate's name.
"Such a good girl," he purred as he lapped up the evidence of your pleasure.
You're whole body shook as he kissed his way back up your body, grinning against your flushed skin the whole way. He was so warm, when he kissed you again, the taste of your release still on his plush lips, your only thoughts were on how you could get more of that warmth, until it has seeped into your bones, erased any trace of the cold that had laid so deep beneath.
You threaded your hands in his hair, now a mess across his forehead, whimpering. "Need you still."
He grinned as he caught your lower lip between his teeth in a playful nip. "I know, love."
You moved a hand to the small of his back, pulling him closer.
"You'll have me until there are no longer stars in the sky." The bond flooded with more warmth and affection, as deep as your need for him ran, his was equal, there was no end to what he could give you.
You kissed him again, even as your legs wrapped around his waist, a bit of magic finally removing those damned leathers. Maybe you'd ask him to put them back on later, so you could enjoy the sight of him in the aftermath as much as he would you, but those were questions for later.
"I love you," you whimpered as he finally slide into you, slowly, casually, like there was all the time in the world for the two of you to enjoy each other.
He fit like he was made just for you, the stretch just uncomfortable for a moment before the pleasure made your back arch and your toes curl. He moaned into your throat, pushing his nose into your sweat dampened skin, inhaling your scent as he pushed all the way in to you.
You wondered, distantly, if the stars you were seeing were his making, or something that appeared for him too. The way he panted into your skin as he rocked his hips, testing you, made you think he saw them too.
"So perfect," he moaned as he slid almost fully out.
Your nails clawed at his shoulders, begging for him to come back and he plunged back in a little more forcefully this time, the couch groaning beneath the two of you.
You rocked your hips to meet his thrusts, hands still trailing down the contours of his spine in a move that would be sure to leave marks of your own. He nipped at your neck and shoulders when you pushed too hard, skin breaking beneath your fingertips, but you knew he didn't mind, know he relished in being marked up by you, like it was a badge of honor. You'd leave hickeys on him afterwards, when the pleasure building between your legs wasn't so white hot, when you could focus your attention somewhere other than the need burning it's way through you.
His hand snaked down between your legs, drawing you closer and closer to the edge again.
"Rhys," a prayer, a mantra, the only thing that made sense as pleasure turned all rational thought to mush.
"I've got you," he rasped in your ear, every muscle taught as he rocked into you again and again and again. His pace was quickly becoming more frantic, his breath hot on your throat as he moaned into your skin. It was that sound, so desperate and low right beneath your ear, coupled with the movement of his deft fingers, the angle of his cock inside you, all hurtling you so quickly towards the edge that you didn't notice it was there until you toppled over it. Your mate followed with a roar, his own release warm inside you.
You clung to him, trembling, panting, as you came down from your high, the familiar weight of him atop you grounding in the aftermath. He snaked an arm around you as he positioned the two of you on your sides, sharing the couch now. You buried your face in the crook of his neck as he kissed the top of your head, gently.
"Warm now, darling?" He asked softly, a hint of teasing still there, even as he recovered his breath.
He hadn't pulled out of you yet; you bit your lip in thought as you tossed a leg over his, bringing you flush against his hips. You were sensitive, the movement made you wince a little, but even after all that, you still wanted more of him. Perhaps it would never be enough. Like the Illyrians that called this frigid place home, there was always going to be something that pushed you back towards the fire, that damned insatiable need to get warm.
"I think I'm still a little cold," you purred, eyes glinting playfully.
Your mate chuckled at the challenge in your tone, violet eyes narrowing into where you were still joined. "Can't have that, can we?"
The fire roared in the fireplace, a bit of your mate's magic flaring, making sure there was more heat in the cabin, before his lips were on yours again, chasing away any hint of cold before it could touch you.

You hear the sharp sound of Loki’s footsteps on the atrium floor roughly twenty minutes after slipping the note undetected into his coat pocket.
“You’re too chicken to fuck me in public,” you had scrawled across the yellow TVA issued notepaper, feeling a heat begin to form between your thighs with each stroke of your pen.
Was he too chicken, though? You aren’t sure what you and Loki are exactly, but heaven help you you’re enjoying the secret trysts in broom cupboards and bathrooms. It’s what spawned the idea to write him the note - the fact that all your hook ups have been in secret away from prying eyes.
It was meant to do nothing but tease him, to poke the proverbial bear, but with how quickly and forcefully his footsteps are approaching from behind, you fear you may have flown too close to the sun.
Your heart begins to thump wildly in your chest with each step he takes, and you lose track of what the analysts huddled around you are discussing. Vaguely, you catch snippets of their concern over yet another variant causing havoc on the Sacred Timeline, but their voices fade to a faint drone when the familiar scent of cinnamon and patchouli wraps around you.
Each quiet inhale of his scent sends an addictive giddiness zipping through your veins. You imagine him slipping his hands in his pockets and feeling the sharp edges of the note - had he just stepped through the Time Door on another assignment with Mobius? Or had he only found it while they were already in the field? How long has he been stewing over that single, teasing sentence and assembling, to him, a suitable consequence?
It has you fighting not to squeeze your thighs together where you stand.
“Terribly sorry!” That familiar, smooth voice rolls over you only seconds later, and you feel two firm hands grip your shoulders. “I’m afraid I have a very pressing issue that requires one of the best minds in the TVA! I’ll have her back in a jiffy!”
Before you can even draw breath to object Loki’s fingers are curling possessively around your upper arm. His pace is frantic as he steers you through Chrono Bay Three, so much so that it really does look like the future of the TVA rests on your shoulders.
You know different, though.
You know that, beside you, is a man with enough pent up sexual energy to power a small town.
It’s exhilarating to see what you do to him. From your place at his side, you can see the tense way he’s holding that strong jaw; you can see how his free hand is curled into a half fist, and you can feel the flex of his fingers through the material of your shirt like he’s itching to get his hands on your bare skin.
Again.
“So, what’s this pressing issue that requires my brilliant mind?” you tease him as he continues to pull you through the deserted atrium. “Are the threads of time disintegrating as we speak? Has Miss Minutes gone rogue?”
You swear that the corner of his mouth quirks, just a little bit, and, for a second, all you want to do is make him laugh.
Loki’s pace doesn’t falter even for a second as he keeps weaving you both through the intricate halls of the TVA, but he turns briefly to flash you that devilish grin. “Do you really wish to do this, darling? After that little stunt you just pulled?”
Something lurches to life in your stomach, but you forcibly will it down. This is all just a little bit of fun, really. A little bit of excitement in the otherwise boring days of being an analyst. What better way to liven things up than with this man with those beautiful green eyes and the…
No.
Not this time.
You’re, ironically, saved from any further traitorous thoughts by the very subject of them. Loki comes to an almost comical stop beside that ridiculous “minimise chat in the cafeteria please” sign that’s become a favoured inside joke between you and Mobius, in large part due to the weary sigh it garners from Loki. He throws a casual glance at the handful of other agents milling around - none of whom seem remotely interested in either of you - and yanks you through a door with a sign that reads “Authorised Personnel Only.”
Although the corridor he’s pulled you into looks just like every other corridor in the labyrinth of the TVA, you recognise this as one you’re not overly familiar with. Does this one lead to Repairs and Advancement? Or is this the shorter route to the Automat? You aren’t sure.
What you are sure of is that it isn’t very wide.
You turn to face Loki as the door snaps shut. Even under the harsh yellow lights running overhead, he still manages to look every inch the handsome god that he is. It’s both infuriating and exhilarating.
“A stunt?” you whisper with feigned disbelief. “Who would dare to try the God of Mischief?”
Loki takes two steps to the side so he’s standing directly in front of you at what counts as the “other side” of the corridor. One hand is deep in his trouser pocket while the other rises from his side. Between two elegant fingers sits your little note. “Care to explain?”
An impish smile curls across your face in tandem with your heart beginning to thump wildly in your chest. “Oh, that! I meant to slip that to the new Minuteman this morning. You know, the tall one with the blonde hair? Whoops.”
The god in front of you doesn’t smile. Instead, he inhales slowly, deeply, and locks those hypnotising green eyes with yours. “I thought we had addressed this little issue last week? Do I need to put you over my knee again?”
You swallow silently and make a valent effort to ignore the heat that’s rising to a crescendo between your thighs. The last time Loki had held you over his knee you hadn’t been able to sit comfortably for three days. It hadn’t been the first time and you pray it won’t be the last.
“Don’t threaten me with a good time, Your Highness.” You smirk at him, knowing how much he loves this.
The quirk of his lip is barely perceptible, blink and you would have missed it. He takes two silent steps forward, closing the remaining distance until he’s looming over you. He’s so deliciously close that you could easily get drunk on the scent of him and on the mix of mischief, desire and lust that’s swirling in those pretty green eyes.
A lavender haze of raw arousal has settled around you like a blanket, twisting tighter and tighter with each second Loki stays silent. His lips are quirked in a half smirk that makes you desperate to know what’s going on in that devilish mind of his, to know what concoction of pleasure and pain he’s cooked up to make you pay for your brattiness.
It’s foolish, though, to think you’ll ever be able to guess his next move.
You become overly aware of the wall at your back when he reaches out a thumb and forefinger to grip your chin. It’s a soft touch, but there’s no denying the jolt of electricity that rushes through every vein and pore.
Because that’s what Loki is; he’s electrifying.
“On your knees, Agent. Now.” His voice rolls over you low and smooth, but there’s a clear undertone of dominance flowing beneath each word.
A thrill of excitement shoots along your spine, but it leaves something else in its wake. Something that feels oddly like nerves.
“Here?” you question him, turning panicked eyes to the rows of doors lining both sides of the corridors. “But…Loki, there are people here!”
Loki answers you with a raising of his brow. “Oh, I do beg your pardon. Perhaps you’re too chicken to be fucked in public?” He throws your own taunt back at you.
Something in you bristles and you curse your nervous outburst. He has quite enough to hold over your head. “You wish. I do this all the time,” you lie.
His face is impossible to read. “Then why am I waiting? On your knees.”
He expects you to obey and the threat of what will happen if you don’t hangs heavily in the air. Normally, you’d want to keep pushing his buttons to see just how far you could push him, your ass be damned, but you’re so completely under his spell that you fall to your knees after only half a second of defiance.
A satisfied smirk curls across Loki’s face. “There. See how much easier it is when you obey, sweet girl?” he purrs, using those sinfully long fingers to tuck some hair behind your ears.
“Don’t get used to it,” you shoot back before you can help yourself.
Loki’s answering laughter is short but genuine. “I wouldn’t be so foolish.”
His hand curling around your skull is a sign that the talking is over. He holds you there firmly in place while his other hand works at the belt and zipper of his trousers. In several seamless movements, he frees himself from the black boxers he’s wearing underneath, and you feel the slightest pressure on the back of your head as he pushes it forward.
“Open,” Loki orders, curling a hand around his cock and guiding it to your lips.
They part obediently and he wastes no time in feeding you his cock inch by inch. It’s becoming familiar to you now - the taste of him on your tongue and the musky scent that quickly wraps around you - and yoi’ve done this enough times before to know how much he loves when you run the tip of your tongue along the underside of his cock.
As expected, you’re rewarded with a soft moan and the feel of his fingers flexing in your hair. It only serves to embolden you.
Loki’s eyes drift closed as he savours the warm wetness of your mouth around him, and you take the opportunity to take as much of him as you can into your mouth, refusing to stop until the tip of his cock slips down your throat. With teary eyes you hold it as long as you can until you feel your throat start to convulse with the need for air. Only then do you pull back off him until just the tip rests between your lips.
“Fuck! You divine creature!” Loki rasps out, curling his hand even tighter in your hair. “Keep going! That’s my good girl.”
You eagerly obey.
Ignoring the ache that’s beginning in your knees and the quiet hum of voices from behind several of the doors, you focus your attention solely on getting this man off. You do everything that you know he loves - you swirl your tongue hungrily around his tip and lick the aching length of him until his hand flies out to slam into the wall with a groan.
“Faster !” he grunts, and when you peer up at him, you see him slowly coming apart piece by piece.
That beautiful face is contorted in pleasure and several black curls have fallen haphardly around his shoulders. He’s panting and moaning like a whore, causing your eyes to dart frantically back and forth between him and the doors behind.
But it’s no longer fear that’s pumping through your blood. It’s raw, hot arousal.
Loki won’t last much longer, but just when you begin to drive him towards release, he pulls his cock free from between your lips.  “Enough,” he says huskily. “On your feet.”
Shakily, and with Loki’s help, you climb to your feet, but you barely have a second to appreciate the relief before his lips crash against yours. His kiss is hungry and dominating and, at the same time his tongue slips into your mouth, a hand is pulling your leg around his waist and pushing the brown material of your skirt around your hips.
“Tell me you were wrong,” he pants, hot and heavy against your lips. “Say it.”
“I…I was wrong,” you say as his skilled hands make short work of your underwear.
“Yes. You were,” Loki taunts, “and I’m going to show you just how wrong right here in this corridor.”
One long finger begins to circle your clit at the same time the blunt head of his cock presses against your soaked cunt. You’re aching for him - you have been since the last time he had pulled you into Time Theatre Four - but Loki only slides his cock through your wetness.
“Fucking hell!” you whimper, reaching out to grab his shoulder through the thick material of his pea coat. “Loki, enough. Just fuck me, please!”
You see a flash of white teeth before he rolls his hips, sinking his cock into you in one smooth thrust. It’s been so long since he’s filled you that a shameless moan slips from your lips before you can stop it and echoes down the empty hallway.
You snap your mouth closed and look to Loki with panicked eyes, but he only gives you that infuriating smirk. “I hope you can be sufficiently quiet, little mouse. We’re in quite the compromising situation.”
“Fuck you,” you murmur, but press down on his ass with your foot to coax him into moving.
Loki chuckles and thrusts into you once more, forcing you to bite your cheek to stop from crying out. “You do have such a way with words.”
His fingers stay at your clit as he thrusts his cock into you over and over. It’s enough to send you dizzy and you grip his shoulders for dear life, but it’s impossible not to let them drift into his curls. They’re soft and silken between your fingers - like they always are - and you’re rewarded with the same deep groan when you twist them around your finger and tug.
It’s something you accidentally discovered that night Loki had taken you on top of one of the desks in the library - he enjoys having his hair pulled. It’s a small slice of knowledge that you filed away, and it only made you eager to discover what other filth this man got off on.
Loki, it seems, is just as kinky as you are.
“How is it…that you feel better…every time?” he pants and slams into you with such force that you can’t swallow your cry of pleasure.
“Just part of my charm,” you answer on a single breath, though it’s a breath that’s quickly lost to you as Loki increases the pressure on your swollen clit.
He builds you up expertly, and the tiny ripples of pleasure that begin to ripple in your core are like no other. Whatever this thing is between you and Loki, it’s ruined you for anyone else.
Each thrust of his cock has the edge crest ever closer, and every pant and groan that escapes his lips has you clenching down harder around him.
But it’s right when you feel the first swells of your orgasm that the scraping of chairs begins behind a door only a few feet away.
You look to Loki wildly, but the asshole only waggles his eyebrows at you. “I’d say you have about two minutes to cum, Agent,” he whispers wickedly in your ear.
You whine and tug him closer, willing your orgasm to wash over you before the door opens. You’re too pent up, too desperate to be left dangling on the edge today.
“One minute,” Loki taunts, though it’s questionable if he’ll last that long.
Maybe it’s from how relentlessly he’s fucking you and the gloriously filthy way he’s grunting in your ear, or maybe it’s due to the exhilarating thought of being caught fucking this god in an open corridor, but your orgasm tears through you only seconds later, drowning you in a pleasure so intense that you bury your face in Loki’s shoulder to stop from crying out.
It’s white hot and steals the breath from your lungs. You feel it from the very tips of your fingers to the tips of your toes. It’s a neverending tsunami that you would happily drown beneath again and again.
Loki spills inside you moments later, panting your name and cupping your ass to keep you as close to him as physically possible. It’s a release so blinding that it leaves your ears ringing and your heart hammering in your chest, and you’ve barely come down off your high when your leg falls from Loki’s waist back to the ground.
The afterglow of release settles around you like a pink cloud. Your chest is heaving as you stand boneless against the wall on shaky legs. It’s beyond you how they’re still supporting you in the wake of a climax so powerful that it’s robbed you of your ability to speak or to form a coherent thought.
Though you aren’t sure if the feeling of relief is from the explosive orgasm he’s just given you or the fact that you managed to reach it before being caught.
Your eyes drift lazily to Loki. He’s standing before you infuriatingly proud smirk as he tucks himself away and straightens the brown pea coat that you’ve nearly clawed off his shoulders. It only grows when he reaches out to straighten your skirt down just as a door opens several feet down the corridor.
He takes a few steps backward to begin melting into the small crowd that emerges from within, but not without sticking his hands in his pockets and giving you a filthy wink. “Until next time, Agent.”

Singing Price a Lullaby
Reusing one of my favorite ideas! I actually put in the names of all the characters I write for into a random picker and I got Price! Lovely, he's earned it!
Looking up from your phone, you gazed through the window, looking at the few stars and clouds that were visible. The sun had kissed the planet goodnight a while ago. And yet, here you were, all alone still, lying in your bed as you awaited your lover to finally finish his work for the day. A torturous time, really. Although he may have been so near, you dared not disturb him in what he deemed so important. And thus you were left to your own devices for hours now, asking him whether or not he had desired some food from time to time. Truthfully, an empty stomach was the only thing to make John abandon his oh so important work. And even then, conversation was sparse, he merely thought about work, not paying you much mind. While there may be the occasional answer were you to ask a question, it was short. He may have been the captain of a prestigious force, but that didn’t mean he should neglect you like that. Even you, with your understanding nature, had your limits. But it wasn’t John unintentionally ignoring you for the majority of the day that got to you, no. What really irked you was how few breaks he took. Yes, what he had to do was indeed of utmost importance, but you’d rather have him take care of himself either way. You brought him tea and water, incentives to get away from his paperwork for a few minutes at a time.
Looking at your phone yet again, the clock read 21:23. Had it been up to you, you would have dragged John from his desk and into bed. While you may not have been as strong as he was physically, you would hold him down until sleep would take him. If you needed to, you would learn to tie knots as well, anything to get your boyfriend to rest. With a sigh, you turned off your phone, deciding that you, and him, had had enough for the night. Your bed may have been a bastion of comfort, but it was incomplete without him. And thus, yet again, you sought him out in the one place he could almost always be found.
You knocked on the door to his office and, to no surprise, John invited you in, not bothering to open the door himself, however.
“Evening, love. Can I help you?” It was late, he had been working since the morning. Evidently, he was tired, his speech a bit slower than usual. John even had the gall to stifle a yawn around you. Had you been stronger, you would have picked him up, thrown him over your shoulder and carried him to your shared bed. But alas he was too heavy. The sentiment was still very much there, though.
“John, don’t you think it’s time to head to bed? It’s half past nine pm already, you’ve been at this since ten am.”
Turning back to his paperwork, he tapped the pen against his papers. “Just a little bit longer, then I’ll stop for the time being.”
Those few sentences made you irrationally angry. ‘Just a little longer’, that usually meant he’d be at this for another three hours or so, which was unacceptable. You took a deep breath and gently closed the door behind you. However, you could not pretend to be calm any longer as you stomped over to John, taking his papers from him and scanning them over. “Spelling error. Spelling error. Did you doze off as you wrote this? Wrong use of ‘than’. Spelling error.” You put the papers down with force, it was a surprise none of them had flown off the desk. “John, you’re dead tired and mentally exhausted. I think it’s time you call it quits for the night.”
Putting his pen down, he sighed. “Love, it’s alright. This is important and the deadline is coming up soon enough. I can go to bed later. I’m not tired just yet either.” He wrapped an arm around your waist, pulling you a bit closer and resting his head against you, closing his eyes for a moment. “I’ll join you soon enough, don’t worry.”
“Stop shitting me. You’re leaving this room right now.” Grabbing his arm, you pulled him up. You had expected otherwise, but he put up no fight as you dragged him off the chair. It seemed as though not even he wanted to really work anymore this late. No one was going to burn him at the stakes for heading to bed for the night. Or stopping for any other reason. “And if you’re not tired, fine. We’ll do something else until you are tired.” What a liar. You were sure if you forced him to bed and wrapped a blanket around him he’d be gone in roughly ten minutes. Maybe even less. His eyes were only half open, and he was, yet again, stifling a yawn. “Come on, we’re heading to the living room. I have an idea for what we can do.”
For a moment he hesitated, refusing to go along with you as you were halfway through the door. John looked back at the documents on his desk, barely moving as you tried to drag him through the door. His gaze seemed almost empty as he stared off into space. He was half asleep, even while standing there. Eventually, he relented, turning off the lights and following you into the living room.
Holding onto his wrist still, you sat down on the couch, patting your lap as John simply stared at you. Raising his eyebrow, it was clear what he wanted to convey. ‘I’m too heavy for you, I won’t be sitting in your lap.’ But that wasn’t your intention either.
“Lie down, put your head on my lap.” Although he may have been a captain, he obeyed your command, no complaints from his side either. It was adorable how he looked up at you, barely conscious. You were certain he’d fall asleep eventually. However, maybe, just maybe, you could convince him to go to bed without him actually falling asleep in your lap. You wanted to sleep in your bed as well, after all. All of this could have been avoided if only he would take better care of himself. You’re going to scold him for that, but it could wait until tomorrow. For the time being you ran your fingers through his hair.
“What are we going to do now? Watch the telly?”
“Quiet, my dear. I’m thinking.” What you were about to do was kind of embarrassing. You were only really used to singing to yourself when no one was around. But you always found your voice to be quite soothing. In fact, you could sing yourself sleepy with certain songs as well. It was a blessing and a curse. You hoped you wouldn’t start yawning throughout it. Unfortunately, it wasn’t as unlikely as one would think. Still, you’d give it your all. But what to sing? You wanted to go for something a bit nicer.
Eventually, you settled for a song, looking away from John for a bit before starting to play with his hair again. He never looked away from you, taking in all of your features, regardless of how many times he had seen them.
Your voice wasn’t overly loud, it wasn’t overly high pitched either as you sang. Still, you felt a bit embarrassed, avoiding John’s gaze. It seemed almost humiliating to you, singing in front of someone else after years of not doing so. But it would take John’s mind off of things, you hoped. Your little performance was nice, you could feel yourself relaxing a bit as well.
I think I found a flower in a field of weeds
I think I found a flower in a field of weeds
Searching until my hands bleed
This flower don't belong to me
I think I found a flower in a field of weeds
I think I found a flower in a field of weeds
Searching until my hands bleed
This flower don't belong to me
This flower don't belong to me
Why can't she belong to me?
Slowly, you could feel your eyes getting a bit droopy as well, a yawn coming along with the feeling. Still, you ignored such for the sake of continuing to sing. John shifted in your lap, laying down on his side as he nuzzled into your stomach. You couldn’t tell if he was actually enjoying this, anxiety building up in your chest. However, you had already started, it would be a shame to stop now.
Every word, every thought, every sound
Every touch, every smile, every frown
All the pain we've endured until now
All the hope that I lost, you have found
He wrapped his arms around your middle and sighed contently. Maybe your anxieties were unfounded after all. It wasn’t often he’d sigh like that, only when he was really comfortable. For a moment, you dared to look at him. His eyes were closed and he seemed happy.
Every word, every thought, every sound
Surrender
Every touch, every smile, every frown
Surrender
All the pain we've endured until now
Surrender
All the hope that I lost, you have found
His breathing was shallow and calm. Has he fallen asleep already? You would have preferred it if he had fallen asleep in your shared bed, but you supposed this was better than nothing. You could always just take a nap tomorrow.
I never had the nerve to ask
Surrender
Has my moment come and passed?
Surrender
I never had the nerve to ask
Surrender
Has my moment come and passed?
Surrender
I never had the nerve to ask
Surrender
Has my moment come and passed?
Surrender
I never had the nerve to ask
Your little performance was over now. You had found yourself to be quite tired yourself, but dared not to move in fear of waking John. Yet, eventually, he stirred awake, in spite of you not moving a muscle. His slumber didn’t last very long, if he had even slept in the first place.
“Beautiful, love. How come you never told me you could sing like that?”
“Well, it is a bit embarrassing. Even though I really do love singing. Anyway, go to bed, you stinker. It’s late and you’re tired.”
John sighed, but got up reluctantly. Having pulled you up with him, he linked his arm with yours. You were ready to hold him given how he swayed from left to right as he walked. “Nothing to be embarrassed about. You should sing more often. I’d love to hear you sing again sometime.”
“W-well, I’m sure that could be arranged… We’ll discuss that tomorrow. For now we’re heading to bed.”
“Wouldn’t dream of going anywhere else at this hour.” What a jester. Had you not intervened then he’d still be working away at some boring papers. But you were proud of him for complying. He needed that rest, after all.
You weren’t sure how long it took for him to actually fall asleep, but you could have sworn you heard light snoring the moment he hit the bed. In fact, he wasn’t even moving anymore, it was you, who had to drape the blanket over the both of you. But you didn’t mind. With a gentle kiss to the top of John’s head, you settled down for the night yourself, nestling into the blankets and getting comfortable. Eventually, you, too, fell asleep, tired from singing the lullaby.

John Price meeting civilian reader scenario (part 2)
Part 1
Masterlist
The alarm sets off so early the next morning, you feel, like you've just closed your eyes a few minutes ago. You drag yourself out from a comfort of your warm blanket and head to the bathroom.
As you are standing there before the mirror, brushing your teeth, you remember, that yesterday you invited a man you've only known a few hours for today's walk. Sounds unsafe, but then again that smile, that deep voice and muffled croaky chuckles...
Someone may call you reckless, but you call it a risk worth taking. Plus, if you never come back from that walk with him - that means, that your vacation never actually ends. So there are bright sides to even the worst possible outcomes.
In half an hour, you step out of your cabin fully prepared. Deep inside, you are ready to go on your hike alone, if the guy doesn't show up.
But Price already waits for you, leaning on the bench where you chatted yesterday. He looks at you with a smirk.
"How do you look so alive It's not even 5 am now!" - you whine, jealous of his fresh look despite the early hour.
Instead of answering, he hands you his thermos. You open and sniff it. The aroma is faintly reminiscent of coffee...
"Careful. Just a sip." - he says quietly.
You take a tiny sip and cover your mouth with your hand to keep from spitting out the contents. This drink really remotely resembles coffee. Coffee, if mixed with earth, pieces of peat and liquid fire. You cough so hard that your body trembles and tears come to your eyes. "What the bloody... thing is it? Biohazard home brew?"
He tries to hold back his laughter, but he can't. "Sorry, I thought I brewed it softer than usual today." he smiles as he takes the thermos from you and wipes a tear from your cheek.
Moving out on the road, you still occasionally cough. He is genuinely remorseful, though he can't help but smile when you turn away.
You reach the trail just as fog begins to descend from the hills covered with fir trees. The first rays of the sun break through the branches. You take out your camera and turn it on.
"Ok, now I'll go a few steps ahead, and you will be in charge of navigation" - you give him a printed map of your route.
"Add an external observation to that, and I might as well charge you for my services..." - he murmurs under his breath, as you proceed to film your walk.
He inadvertently approaches you several times and almost overtakes you. You have to catch him by the sleeve of his jacket and gently pull him back so that he doesn't get into the frame.
"Sorry, John, I just want those videos to be only about nature. When we come back, I'll show you how good it looks, I promise" - you whisper.
He doesn't mind, though. Fresh and calm morning nature, crisp air, the view he gets, following you from behind... No, he doesn't mind at all.
He likes to silently follow you, occasionally directing you by the shoulder on the cross paths.
This feels like a perfect combination of something he's good at (taking care and guiding) and something he craves (to have a rest).
He even regrets that time has flown by so quickly when you return.
You show him your YouTube channel with silent walking videos, and he is absolutely delighted.
"So there is a right side of this bloody circus after all! I thought it was just an endless chaotic party being translated there." He sighs in relief and turns on your next video.
You wonder what exactly he means by "a right side" of YouTube, but decide to leave him in peace as he's browsing through your vids.
When you are out of sight, he discreetly pulls out his reading glasses, puts them on and writes your channels name down in a little notebook. Then he thinks for a couple of seconds and writes its address down too.
Yes, this whole "...tube.com/channel/UClD8....." stuff. Just to be sure, you know?
After this vacation, your channel has seen a huge increase in viewing statistics.
Price revisits your videos in any free minute.
Others in the Task Force 141 notice that their captain has begun to spend more time at the computer, although they couldn’t even drag him there by force before.
"So when I make time to find and share something funny with your ingrate asses - I'm to be yelled at, but when the captain rewatches a walk down some road in a random forest for several hours - this is not a problem for you?" - Soap grunts at dinner.
No one answers him, because your vids became kind of meditation sessions to a half of the team, since Price shared them with others.
Price leaves awkwardly formal commentaries under every your video.
Like "Dear content creator, I want to send my sincere gratitude for your taking the time to make this video. I genuinely appreciate your enthusiasm for sharing this walk of yours with us all. Thank you again for your dedication."
Gaz can't stand such a level of cringe and shows Price, that there is an "about the channel" info section out there, with your email in it. Just in case, Price wanted to... express his gratitude to you more privately.
"I never asked for it!" - snarls Price, but ends up emailing you as soon as Gaz is out of his sight.

I guess you're all mine when you're sleeping in this bed with me
Fandom: Red White and Royal Blue
Characters: Alex/Henry
Summary: Henry needs Alex to tickle his back most nights to fall asleep, until the tickling becomes a little too ticklish for him.
A/N: Prompted by @iamawolfstarsimp, thank you! It's been four years since I read the book, so please forgive anything that might seem out of character. I hope you enjoy! I can't wait for the movie!
Words: 1k
Alex enjoyed sleeping with Henry - sleeping with as in sharing his bed, fighting for the covers, waking up to his bedhead and kisses - for three main reasons.
The first one was because he adored how His Royal Highness would blink up at him sleepily each morning and smile, actions he did on instinct before his brain caught up with his body and made him try to play it cool, much to Alex’s amusement.
The second was because of how Henry would press his nose into Alex’s throat, nuzzling him in such an adorably human way that Alex would laugh incredulously each time (also maybe because it tickled, a little).
The third and biggest reason was the lengths Henry would go to to get Alex to “help him fall asleep”, as he called it. Usually it involved many distractions, but sometimes it really was just Alex scratching his back until he felt him finally relax under his touch. And while it could be annoying, being yanked out of sleep to be of service, there was something so delicious about a literal prince needing his help with something so mundane.
(They hadn’t talked about why he couldn’t sleep yet - Alex reckoned they would have to one day.)
Henry was melting under his touch that night. Alex hadn’t allowed him to toss and turn for too long before he’d dutifully reached out, fingertips sliding skillfully over the skin, following each bump and curve, up and down, back and forth, and Henry was shivering maybe because he was being a little too light on the hand.
“Is it helping?” he mumbled, eyes closed and much too close to sleep again, hence the light touch, but Henry only grunting in response made him instantly perk up. It had only been a moment and Henry never fell asleep that quickly.
He had his eyes wide open when Alex opened his, looking anything but relaxed. “What?”
“You’re asking me?” Alex blinked once, twice. “Are you okay?”
“Of course.”
“All right.”
“Why do you ask?”
“I just-” Had Alex imagined it? “Nothing.”
“Well, keep going then.”
Rolling his eyes, Alex resumed his petting, feeling Henry tense up under his hand before relaxing, only this time he seemed to tense up again almost immediately. It made Alex want to snatch his hand away, give into indignation or confusion since it would be so easy to get upset over it had he been in the mood, but all he did was sit up and force Henry to look at him.
“It’s nothing,” Henry said, sitting up as well, both of their bodies radiating heat in the already too hot room. “It’s stupid.”
“Well, it can’t be both.”
“Funny.”
“You know you can talk to me, right?” He wondered if it had anything to do with how Henry would lay awake half the night sometimes, staring at the ceiling until Alex pulled him close. “If something’s bothering you.”
“I know.” Henry’s face softened. It was ridiculous how soft he could be sometimes when he looked at him. “I promise you it’s nothing serious.”
“But it’s something.”
“It’s embarrassing?”
“Oh? Now I really gotta hear it.”
“Can it wait until tomorrow?” The sun had set hours ago and Henry had flown in from a brief visit back home only the day prior. He was tired. They both were.
“Fine.” Alex leaned closer and pressed his lips to his temple, smiling when Henry hummed happily. “But if you act weird again I’ll stop petting you.”
“I won’t act weird, I promise.” For some reason he was avoiding Alex’s gaze.
Alex tried to be more aware of how he was touching him when he resumed, what part of his back that made Henry tense up, what spot made his breath hitch. He pretended he didn’t notice it when it started again, realizing how hard Henry seemed to be trying to stop it, and that was when it hit him.
“Oh my god, your back is ticklish.” It wasn’t the first time Alex had discovered a sensitive spot, but it surprised him that Henry still seemed to be able to keep certain tickle spots from him, even after all this time. He was nearly offended.
“It’s not,” Henry said weakly, but when Alex purposefully poked his lower back he let out a sound so delicious that Alex did it again just to hear it.
“That doesn’t sound like a non-ticklish back to me,” he said with a grin and Henry groaned, all too aware of how Alex never let things like these go.
“You’re worse than me,” Henry reminded him in vain, for Alex might be worse but Henry was never able to turn the tables once Alex got him.
“Mmm, at least I’m not pretending otherwise.” That wasn’t true. Henry had to tickle him to pieces three separate times before Alex even admitted to being ticklish.
Henry tried to flip over to shield his back, which would be kind of stupid since his belly and ribs were death spots, but Alex enjoyed the prospect of a new spot more and was on top of him within seconds, knees locking around his hips as he started laughing when Henry swore.
“Get off,” he growled, but the giggle that escaped simultaneously made his words sound very unthreatening. “Alex, I promise you I will get revenge.”
“Yeah, yeah.” Alex poked his back again, this time aiming for just below his shoulder blade. “Hmm, it seems only certain spots are ticklish. Let’s figure out which ones, shall we?”
“Oh my god, please, do-hon’t! Alex, I swear to-”
“Shoulders? Really, Henry?”
“Shut up!”
“Lift your arms a bit for me, darling.”
“You’re so fucking annoying- stop.”
“Back ribs, huh? How about the back of your hips? Let me try that lower back again while I’m down there.”
You’d think this would keep Henry from asking for back tickles in the future, but it didn’t. All it did was make their nights gigglier and Henry fall asleep quicker due to exhaustion.

Part 2 - Neteyam
The cold shock of wind that fanned Xilä’s face caused her to stir. With a pained moan she awoke, instantly remembering her fall and the creature that was inches away from attacking her. Eyes still closed she burrowed closer to the warmth that surrounded her body, immediately tensing when it shifted behind her.
A strangled cry fell from her lips when she finally opened her eyes- the scenery before her causing sudden panic. There was blue everywhere! Blue skies to be exact. The blood drained from her face when she realized she was being flown high in the sky on a mountain banshee.
Glancing down to the far drop below she jerked, accidentally knocking the person behind her with her already throbbing head.
The person hissed at the contact and the thick muscled arm wrapped around her midsection, tightened its hold to keep her still.
“No no no no, let me go. I want to get down. Now please.” Xilä was frantic and scared, her breath turning laboured.
“Hey stop, calm down or you- Ow!”
She scrambled, clutching and squeezing his arm in panic as the creature beneath them sailed through the air.
One, she’d never been on a mountain banshee much less anything that could fly and two, heights. Xilä did not do heights. She screwed her eyes shut as she shook with fear.
“Shit,” muttered the male voice behind her. He shifted them, holding her closer so that her side rested flush against his chest. Xilä’s fingernails dug into his bicep as she hid her face in his shoulder.
“Sir, are you there? Anyone copy? Dammit. Stupid connection.”
Neteyam shot a worrying glance to the strange, cowering female in his arms. He had been in the middle of a hunt when he heard her screams, getting there just in time to slay the nantang before it attacked her.
He saw when she fell, he’d heard the echoing crack of her skull and knew immediately that she needed a healer- he couldn’t very well leave her there.
Where the hell did she come from though?
He’d never seen her before and he wondered what clan she was from. Definitely not the Anurai clan, not Tipani and certainly not Metkayina. He also highly doubted that she was an Avatar.
She was an odd little thing and it wasn’t until he saw her face that he realized she was Na’vi.
Her body was completely hidden in strange garb- a mangy hooded cloak swallowed her…even her feet were covered.
The skin on her face was a pale dusty blue- pale as if she hadn’t seen the sun in years, and when he’d scooped her up, he frowned in concern. She was light- too light. Even with the layers she wore she seemed to weigh nothing.
“You alright there?” He tried asking but she said nothing.
Uncomfortably seated on his ikran, he glided them to his home as she continued to cling to him. The wind knocked her hood away and her wild hair tickled his skin. It smelt sweet, like soap nuts.
Neteyam breathed a sigh of relief when he caught sight of the clan's boundary. Caring for wild, terrified, injured females was not his forte. He’d breathe a lot easier once he handed her off to a healer but for now, she was his responsibility. And just like everything else in his life, he did to his best- he was going to try his damn hardest to make sure he got her there in one piece.
She moaned and began to move restlessly.
“Hey, hey. You’re okay, you’re fine. Tell me what’s wrong?” He urged, squeezing her lightly, using the voice he’d usually use on his baby sister to get her to calm down.
“I want to get down, please…. it’s too high,” she said in a shaky, quiet voice.
“You don’t like heights?”
Her head shook against his shoulder in response.
“Look we're almost there and you need a healer, so…just hang in a little longer…I’m Neteyam. What’s your name?”
“Xilä.”
“Xilä,” he said, testing out the name. He noticed her accent was a bit different to the Omatikaya’s, so he asked, “Where are you from Xilä? What clan?”
“Li'ona.”
Neteyam glanced down at her with a deep frown. “The Deadlands?”
She held the back of her head with her free hand and whimpered in pain. “Neteyam,” she said anxiously, and slightly slurred. “I- I don’t feel so good.”
And then she went completely limp in his arms.
~
When Xilä woke again, the first thing she noticed was that something soft covered her eyes, completely blocking her vision. The second thing was that her skin prickled from the chill in the air- her body was void of her cloak.
Wiggling her toes she realized her boots were missing as well. A violent shiver rocked her body and then almost instantaneously warmth came as a thick pelt was gently draped over her, gentle hands tucking in the ends.
Hands. Hands?!
She tensed and perked up in complete alertness. Fear spiking, heart accelerating- her body began to shake, and not just from the cold this time.
Where was she?
“Shhh child. Be calm, you are safe here,” said a raspy voice, tinged with age. Those gentle hands removed the cloth from her face. Xilä blinked as her eyes adjusted, then fell on an elderly and serious faced female Na’vi.
Surveying the dimly lit area, she noticed it was a large tent of some sort. Plants, succulents, an assortment of bowls filled with pastes and powders and many other strange items littered a well-crafted table situated in the centre of the room.
There were a few other bed rolls like the soft one she was laying in currently, but they were vacant.
The space lingered heavily with the scent of medicinal herbs and spices, and the faint cries of mountain banshees and chatter could be heard from the distance.
“Here, drink.” The elder helped her sit up a little then tilted a small bowl filled with water against Xilä’s parched lips which she drank greedily, despite her uneasiness.
Sitting all the way up, she kept the pelt close and eyed the eccentrically dressed woman in mild apprehension. Movement caught her eye and her head snapped too quickly towards it, causing her to wince in pain.
Those eyes. It was the Na’vi male who had saved her. Neteyam. He was standing in the shadows, arms folded while he leaned against one of the high beams that held up the roof of the tent. He was watching her as if she were some kind of dangerous creature, his face impassive.
Xilä couldn’t help it, she felt her cheeks tinge at his attire. He was dressed in nothing but a high quality loincloth, a warrior’s belt and jewellery. She was not used to seeing so much skin, even the elder who was draped in a vibrant red, beaded shawl, seemed to be wearing very little. Xilä had to remind herself she was no longer in Li'ona.
“Don’t mind him. He says he’s keeping guard, protecting me from you. Ha! I’d be surprised if you could even lift a weapon, much less use it- judging by how weak you are.”
“Where’s my father?” Xilä asked timidly.
From her question she saw Neteyam raise his arm, he touched his strange choker and whispered to himself inaudibly, his gaze still locked on her.
“I am Tsahìk,” the elder said, ignoring her question. She then began creating some sort of concoction while she spoke. “You have a concussion. You are dehydrated and extremely underweight. Your blood circulation is poor which explains why you’re shaking like a leaf in this hot weather and I am placing you on mandatory bed rest for the next two weeks- three if necessary.”
The healer filled the cup once more, with warm water this time, adding the green coloured concoction to it then handed it to Xilä. “Sip slowly.”
Feeling overwhelmed and unsure on how to handle the present situation she kept quiet and did as told, sipping on the bitter flavoured tea- she was used to following orders…that she could do.
Xilä heard the healer’s words about her health but she didn’t think that half of what she said even registered at all.
“How long have I been here?”
“Only a couple of hours.”
The healer fussed over her some more, checking the back of her head first, then examining her eyes, ears and mouth. She had raised her eyebrows at the hand made bruises on her wrists and arms but did not comment on it, for which Xilä was grateful. She simply sliced open a succulent and rubbed its slime all over the ugly looking deep purple and blue marks.
“Mo’at,” said a deep voice. A towering male Na’vi, half dressed similarly like Neteyam, entered the space and his sharp eyes immediately fixed on her, making her shrink into herself.
“I thought Neytiri was going to do this?” Questioned the Tsahìk as she stood to face the male.
“Tuk’s got a stomach ache, she’s clingy right now, only wants her mother,” he said with a little smirk.
The healer sniffed in acknowledgement. “Fine, but don’t overwhelm her, she still needs rest and she’s a meek little thing. I’ll pop in to see Tuktirey.” And then she left the tent leaving Xilä alone with the two men.
The unnamed Na’vi crouched in front of her but she didn’t meet his eyes. Her father’s words rang in her head- she wasn’t allowed to talk to anyone, she’d already broken the rule by talking to Neteyam and the healer.
“Hi there. It’s Xilä right? I’m Jake Sully- Olo'eyktan for the Omatikaya clan.”
Her eyes flicked up to his for a second, before darting away. Here was the Toruk Makto before her- she couldn’t be rude. She quickly bowed her head and made the customary Na’vi sign of respect towards him, ‘I see you.’
He chuckled and returned the gesture. “I assume you’re familiar with my son, Neteyam?”
Eyes snapping to those gold piercing eyes once more, she swallowed nervously as he continued to eye her. Neteyam. There he still stood, looking intimidating as ever.
“Xilä…my son says that you are from the Deadlands? Li’ona?” She nodded. “Why are you here then? Has something happened?” He spoke softly, almost as if he were speaking to a child. He had kind eyes, she noticed.
Fiddling with the empty cup in her hands, asked again, “Where is my father?”
“Right. Neteyam mentioned that too. We have a team out looking for him right now. We’ll find him.” Jake sent a questioning glance at his son who shook his head with a small shrug. “Were you travelling with only your father? Just the two of you?” She nodded, mutely.
He rubbed at the bridge of his brow then asked. “Is he armed?” Her brows furrowed but she dipped her head in response anyway.
“Unit five, do you copy?” He paused, then touched the odd choker on his neck and spoke again. “I need an update on the Li'onan, stat.”
Frowning at his sanity she looked around to see who he was talking to but there was no one. He wasn’t even addressing her or his son…was he crazy too, like her grandfather Haudhk? When he was alive, he saw and spoke to people who were never there as well.
“Okay good, keep on those tracks then and just to note be cautious- he’s armed and possibly injured. There was a nantang attack.”
Xilä squinted at the spot Jake was staring at to see if she saw anything but nope. No one was there so she glanced at Neteyam instead.
He was still looking at her but mild amusement quirked at his lips this time. Her puzzlement at Jake talking to imaginary people must have been funny to him. Feeling stupid, she focused on her hands again.
“Xilä we’re gonna make sure we find your dad, alight?”
~
His father had been questioning the girl for almost an hour now and they still had nothing.
She hadn’t said a word aside from asking for her father, choosing to either nod, shake her head or simply shrug her responses.
Studying her for probably the hundredth time now since he stood there, he concluded that she was no actual threat. She was young- probably his sister Kiri’s age. She breathed innocence and fearfulness, nervously fidgeting with her fingers or flinching at the slightest shuffle from either him or his father. So he tried to stay as still and calm as possible.
There were a few differences between her and an Omatikaya Na’vi. Mainly her dusty blue complexion. Her long, wild and tangled hair had a slight tinge of brown to it and her ears were a bit more pointed. Her eyes though…they were what truly set them apart. They were bright. They almost looked like molten silver or the moon from where he was standing and he wished he had a closer look.
His jaw ticked when he’d first seen it, but he held his tongue from saying anything about the ugly bruises around her wrists and upper arms. They were clearly made by a large hand.
“Sir, this Tasam, over. We’ve got a problem here and you’re need- Ahh!” Both he and his father heard the message from the comm devices in their ear, simultaneously going on high alert.
Before Jake could ask what was happening, they were interrupted by a loud commotion coming from outside. An angry roar, shouting and what sounded like a scuffle echoed from the distance.
He and his father immediately sprinted out the tent, down the stone planted steps and toward the unmistakable growing crowd.
“Where is she! No no! Get your hands off me! Do you know who I am? I demand to see your leader!”
Walking towards the congregated area, they saw three males trying to push back an angry looking Na’vi.
He too was covered head to toe in a threadbare cloak and boots like Xilä when Neteyam first met her. When he broke free from their hold, showing his face, bared fangs and all, Neteyam noticed that his skin and eyes were the same as his daughter but other than that, they looked nothing alike.
“Xilä! Xilä!”
“T'shteyo.”
The Li’ona Na’vi stilled and turned in their direction, his demeanor changing instantaneously to one of composure. He sized up Jake who approached him, then seemed to reluctantly bow, showing the Na’vi sign of respect.
“Toruk Makto, JakeSully…I am honoured that you remember me after all these years.”
His father took in the crowd of clan members before choosing his response. This was an odd situation, he did not want to cause unnecessary reactions from his people. He had to lead by example.
“Twenty five years ago you answered my call in our clan’s time of need. It is my honour, brother.” He stepped forward and clasped arms with the wild looking Na’vi.
T'shteyo locked eyes in Neteyam’s direction, his face morphing into an ugly snarl. “Xilä,” he spat.
Neteyam jerked slightly when he noticed the girl standing near him. He considered himself a highly skilled warrior- nothing ever got past him, his years of training had embedded it into his being. So suffice to say it was not often that people snuck up on him and the fact that she of all people did was more than a surprise.
At the sound of her name she brushed past him and hurriedly made her way to her father, still clutching the pelt around her body. She was barefooted and walked strangely, frowning at the grass beneath her.
Neteyam shared a meaningful look with his father when T'shteyo roughly grabbed his daughter and fiercely began whispering to her. He then shoved her behind him as if she were something to be ashamed of.
“I apologize for my daughter’s intrusion, I hope she has not been a burden.”
Jake's eyes narrowed on the wild Na’vi, disliking him even more every time he opened his mouth. “Why are you here, T’shteyo?” He finally asked, having enough of beating around the bush.
“I prefer to speak with you privately.”
From the corner of his eye Neteyam saw his mother appear, weaving between the bodies of the crowd to flank her mate.
“You will speak here,” hissed Neytiri. “You enter our lands with hostility. Attack our guard,” she gestured to a male warrior who’s cheek was split open and another who had a nosebleed. Tasam’s arm looked mangled. “Spare us your excuses! Our people will hear what you have to say for yourself.”
T'shteyo clenched his jaw, struggling to control his anger towards her. He looked toward Jake and glared. “Are you not the mighty Toruk Makto? You let your woman speak for you?”
Jake turned murderous- jaw clenched tight, body gone rigid. Neteyam knew by his stance that his father was seconds away from attacking and if it wasn’t for the hand Neytiri placed on his chest he knew his father would’ve already charged at the Li’ona male.
Neteyam was ready to pounce the second he saw the ugly bastard- fingers gripped around the handle of his dagger.
He was seething now, along with many of the other onlookers. How dare he speak of his mother that way.
T'shteyo, as if realizing his mistake, quickly gave a half assed apology. “I…mean no disrespect. I forget our ways are different, is all.” Before Jake could curse him out, he rushed out, “My daughter and I seek Uturu.”
The crowd erupted into gasps and whispers, though his father and mother showed no signs that his news shocked them- both glares remaining fixed.
“My position was overthrown. The people…they wish us dead.”
“Why?” Jake hissed.
“The rivers are dry. We have not had rains in almost two decades. The lands bear nothing. No game to catch. My pe-” he shook his head, “The people grew angry, they blame me for their suffering.”
Mo’at pushed through the crowd now with determined steps and whispered something to Neytiri who nodded in response.
Prowling slowly as T'shteyo continued to ramble his case, Neytiri circled him with scrutinizing eyes. She moved closer to Xilä who was still hidden from Neteyam’s view and her ears perked up in alarm, eyes softening at whatever it was she saw.
“Neteyam!” She called immediately.
His reaction was instant and he strode over to his mother.
“Take her back. She needs rest,” Neytiri said, urging her gently towards him.
Neteyam frowned at Xilä, she looked even paler than before and she swayed unsteadily on her feet. The pelt and the ugly garment that was hanging off her frame, made her look even more fragile. Just as he reached out for her, she squeaked when she was roughly jerked back.
“No!” T'shteyo glared at him. “She stays with me. She’s fine, aren’t you girl?” He asked, shaking her.
“Yes father,” she mumbled automatically, unfocused eyes locked on the ground.
“See? Leave her be, she don’t need your fussing.”
His hold looked painfully tight around her arm and Neteyam felt fury bubbling inside of him.
Who the hell was this man?
“She is not fine,” Neteyam hissed in a low growl. “I saw her fall. She hit her head so hard I’m surprised she's even coherent. Your daughter is sick and concussed. Look at her, she’s barely standing! Xilä needs rest and fluids and proper food for Eywa sake! Would it kill you to give a shit?”
T'shteyo had a thick pulsing vein on his temple that looked as if it was about to burst. “You dare speak to me that way boy? Do you know who I-”
Neyetam marched into his space, his expression menacing. He had a good two inches on the Li’ona Na’vi who had no choice but to look up at him. “You came here. You are the one seeking refuge- our help. So give her. To. Me. Now!” Neteyam hissed through clenched teeth.
T'shteyo’s cold eyes darkened even more, nose flared before he glanced at Jake Sully to see if he would do anything to stop him but all his father did was raise an eyebrow as if saying “So what’s it going to be?”
“Take her then.” He shoved her forcefully into Neteyam’s arms, as if he were throwing out dross. She slammed into him and a dizzy spell hit her so hard she closed her eyes tightly and had no choice but to press her forehead between his pecs, trying to swallow down a wave of nausea.
Cold, thin fingers gripped him for balance, tucking into the space between his skin and the tough material of his warrior belt.
Without a second thought he scooped her up for the second time that day and strode off, not even bothering to spare her father a glance. The crowd parted easily for him and his grandmother trailed behind, muttering angrily to herself.
Xilä murmured something that didn’t reach his ears. He hoisted her up a bit higher and her check stuck flat against his shoulder blade, eyes screwed shut. “Is it your head?” He asked, concerned.
“Y-yeah, feels like it’s about to burst.”
Looking down at her, he felt a pang in his chest. He felt unsteady and uncomfortable with the emotions she was suddenly uprooting within him. This girl was a complete stranger and it irritated him how quickly she got under his skin. How quickly he seemed to care.
~
As soon as he placed her feet on the ground, of the healing tent but keeping an arm around her, he heard his name being called.
“Hey man, what the hell is going o-”
Both Neteyam and Spider startled at the sudden shriek from Xilä, both watching in utter confusion as she scrambled. Hands reaching up to Neteyam’s shoulders, she flung herself into his arms. Her long strange garment rode high up her thighs as her legs wrapped around his waist.
“-Ooff!” He stumbled slightly but grabbed her waist and thigh automatically to steady them, his body going into full alert, trying to spot the threat. Spider went wide eyed as well, frowning as he watched the tiny cowering female in his friend’s arms.
Xilä was shaking, her pelt had fallen to the ground, forgotten. Keeping her eyes locked on Spider, she asked in a petrified whisper, “What is it? Why does it look at me that way?”
Neteyam looked around not seeing any danger, eyes sweeping the ground for any crawlers but no- nothing, so he tracked her stare to an equally confused Spider and frowned. “You mean Spider?”
“It is a spy-der?” She asked, rubbing the back of her head with a grimace.
“Hey what’s up…I’m Spider. Nice to meet you.” Spider spoke in the Na'vi language and sent her an ‘I see you’ gesture in hopes it might calm her.
Her head snapped to Neteyam, face pale with a horrified expression upon it and instant understanding dawned on him.
“Xilä, this is Spider, that’s his name, he’s a human. You’ve never seen a human before, have you?”
“No…I thought they were weapons of mass destruction. My father said so…”
Neteyam tried putting her down but her hold tightened around him. Alright, I guess we’re doing it this way.
He walked closer to the human boy. “He’s friendly, see?”
Spider grinned through his mask and gave a wave, wigging his five strange fingers. Her ears perked up looking less terrified the more she examined him through squinted eyes. She guessed he looked harmless.
“Alright,” she whispered, slumping against Neteyam, weakly.
Mo’at walked in at that moment, passing them straight with an armful of blankets she went to collect. She seemed to be still seething in anger judging by the scowl on her face. She knelt in front of her workstation, and began tinkering with her ingredients.
“You can put my patient down now, Neteyam.”
~
“-and that could have ended far worse, Neteyam! What the hell were you thinking? You don’t know the capabilities of these people, did you get a good look at T'shteyo? He looks like a goddamn psychopath. Unhinged. Feral.” Jake was pacing the length of their family tent, currently laying into his son over his very public altercation with the ex Li’ona leader.
“Quick frankly I’m downright surprised at you, I would’ve expected this from your brother, not you!”
Neteyam was glad that Lo’ak was not there to hear his father’s snide remark, they were already only just back on speaking terms since their last dispute. He hated fighting with his brother.
“Sir-”
“Li'onans are ruthless, they aren't like other clans. I haven’t seen T'shteyo in almost twenty five years, and that was on a battlefield against the RDA. I don’t know what is happening there, but they have practically segregated themselves from the rest of Pandora. They’re savages alright.”
“Sir-”
“No, I’m telling you this so you understand what we're up against. He’s put me in a precarious situation here! There are people who want him dead. People who could potentially track them here, and now you’ve gone and put a big fat target on yourself!”
Neteyam stared at his father.
“Look… I get it. I saw what you saw too.” He shook his head and gave a heavy sigh. “That poor girl…I’m proud of you alright, for standing up for her. But we need to tread lightly here.”
“I know sir and I apologize but I’m not sorry about it. I’d do it again,” he said earnestly.
Jake huffed at his son’s honesty, mildly impressed. Hands on his hips, he smirked. “I keep forgetting that you’re all grown up now.”
“I’m twenty-three, dad. I think I’m way past grown up…I passed my rites since I was fifteen. Remember?” He grinned, before turning serious again. “So what's the plan here then? Are you going to let them stay?”
“For the while? Yes.” Jake scratched the back of his head. “Your grandmother would skin me if I told that girl she had to leave. Your mother too.” He squinted at his son. “And I’m guessing you’re in the same boat?”
“Yes,” he replied without hesitation. “I may not give a shit about her father but, dad…if Kiri or Tuk looked like that…”
“I know, I know. Alright, T'shteyo is my responsibility. I’ll make sure he stays in line, teach him our ways- find out what I can about his intentions and if what he has said is the truth. He only gets to stay if he passes the rites.”
Jake side eyed Neteyam. “Can I count on you to do the same with Xilä? To show her our ways?”
“Dad, I don’t know if I’m the best person for that…”
“Oh yeah? Well tough shit. You made your scene and told T'shteyo to give her to you. Well you got her now.” Jake chuckled and patted his son on his back jokingly as they walked out of the tent.
“Come on son, I’m sure it won’t be that bad. You could use a little excitement in your life.”
~
Yay, finally some Neteyam action!
Sorry for any errors.
Let me know what you think :)

Ain't this just a Dream? (Part 3)
SAGAU x Creator! Reader Writing this made me realize that I should probably update my other story in Quotev iasndisndisa
“Our duties are finally coming to an end.”
The Sustainer of Heavenly Principles spoke, tone stern yet uncharacteristically soft, as the whole of Celestia rejoiced. Their God, the real Creator, has finally arrived in Teyvat. Though in all honesty, they did not care about the imposter but they did find it laughable that the people of Teyvat, especially some of the Archons, were quick to believe such lies.
Hundreds of years of waiting, hundreds of battles, all in your name to maintain and protect your creations while you’re gone. And by protecting, they also meant destroying those of your creations that may cause harm to you. One specific catastrophe came to mind.
"An inevitable destruction of a nation. Unfortunate that they have flown to close to the sky with wings that of wax."
Khaenri’ah grew too strong, too ambitious, and too unpredictable. When its people somehow managed to create a looking-glass from this world to yours, they had no choice but to strike them down. They've seen too much. Knowledge may be power, but it ultimately became their downfall.
"Yet if our Creator chooses to bring it back, we shall have no qualms of their decision."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
With Beidou being busy handling the Alcor, Kazuha has been given the task to keep you company, and by Beidou’s words ‘Beat the shit out of anyone who dare mess with you’. Though, he worries deeply of how he’d be able to show you around the nation without any unwanted distractions for your sake.
“Your grace, it may be better if we avoid going to the main areas. Despite now being open to the world, Inazuma is still a bit strict with outsiders. They’re bound to ask for an identification paper. “
You pondered about his words. It makes sense but how are you going to find your Traveller if you did that?
So after a bit more thinking, you shook your head no at Kazuha, a mischievous smile growing on your face as you remembered a lil’trick you can do in dreams. With no regard to personal space, you leaned in close to him, reaching out your right hand just behind his right ear. The close proximity prompted a small red blush on his face as he stared at you, flustered and confused.
"No need to worry. I have them right here!"
You lit up at the sight of the blank papers on your hand when you leaned back, happy at the control you have in your ‘dream’, before showing one of the blank papers to Kazuha. But for him, it wasn’t blank, its contents looking too real and authentic.
"What do you see? I want to know if it works."
"It looks perfect." Though, he couldn’t help but be curious of the other blank papers in your hand, already coming in a conclusion that the one in his hand is just the same as those. "What are these, your grace? "
Happy with the result, you give a few to Kazuha. "These are psychic papers. It’ll let me show others what I want them to see." If you know, you know
And that’s how you managed travel around Inazuma peacefully, a mask on your face, hair in a different style than you usually have it.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You didn’t think looking for Lumine and Paimon would take so long. With no one around as the sun already set, you have long discarded the mask that was on your face, hair back to normal.
Trying the 'look behind you and expect that they’re there' trick didn’t work so you continued searching for the two by foot with Kazuha. You’re not gonna lie and say a part of you isn’t getting a bit impatient. Though, you are getting a bit suspicious and surprised at how long this dream is. You didn’t die sleeping, did you?
"Your gra-" A glare from you made him rethink his words. "…(Y/n), should we stop for the day?"
You sigh and was about to agree but a squeal and a zooming noise from behind caught your’s and Kazuha’s immediate attention. Turning around, you let out an ‘oof’ as a little white spec burrowed itself into your stomach. After seeing who it is, you happily reached down to pet her head.
"PAIMON IS SO HAPPY YOU’RE FINALLY HERE!"
"Paimon!" You looked up starry-eyed as you see Lumine hurriedly came to take Paimon off of you. So your trick did work! But, maybe next time I should've been specific with the timing... Oh how wrong you are
Kazuha let out a chuckle at the scene, excusing himself before leaving and letting you interact with the two for a while. As much as he wants to stay, give in to the gnawing urge to keep himself by your side at all times, he knows that it’s for the best to let you have your moment with your most loyal acolytes, the ones who were never fooled to serve another.
"I’m sorry about her, your grace."
"It’s okay." Upon seeing the happy smile on your face, Lumine returns it with a hug that she wasn’t able to resist. It warmed her heart as you let her, even going as far as dragging Paimon into it when the pixie started fussing.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"I’m really glad you’re finally here, (Y/n). It was exhausting having to deal with all those ‘loyal’ acolytes of yours." Lumine lets out an annoyed huff with Paimon agreeing to her every word. "Couldn’t even tell that’s it’s a fake that they’re serving."
"It’s fine. I’m just happy to be here despite that. This is such a nice dream."You sigh dreamily, not noticing the questioning look Lumine and Paimon shoots at you.
"A…Dream?"
"Uhh Paimon is pretty sure you aren’t dreaming. Unless… Paimon’s the one dreaming??" You chuckled, shaking your head at her in amusement. What a Paimon thing to say.
As Lumine was about to convince you that this truly isn't a dream, your next words froze her, every other thought ceasing as tears of happiness and relief as she heard it.
"Lumine, would you like us to go see your brother now?"

I wanted to listen to these together
audio from Palisade 01, 18, and 25, transcript under the cut
Austin [as Baldwin Home]: We have held our breath, we have closed our eyes, we have tied ourselves down with rope and wire. We have flown in retrograde, we have swum against the tide, we've tried every last trick to stop the clock's stride. But nothing is stationary. No, nothing is stationary. I said, nothing is stationary. They're moving on us now.
Austin [as Baldwin Home]: It’s your boy, Baldwin Home, a.k.a. Black Screen, Concrete Front, you already know what it is. Hitting you with another missive from the front lines, giving you an update on their missiles and known crimes, so you can move under their noses and know where they sharpen their knives, so you can recognize it by sound and get your own honed too, 'cause they need to be. What did I say? Play it back! Play it back! They’re— they’re— they’re moving on us now.
Austin: And they might do it quietly. But the people on Tartarus 5 celebrate. On Lonn and Helaine Delta and Thulsa and Xenacip, they celebrate. On Bhopal Kha and Maine and Bishamonten, on Carjal and Isfahan and all the rest. On research stations and refineries and on standard spread worlds: not everyone, not every one, but some people touch hands and light candles and some launch fireworks and hide before anyone asks any questions.
And some people make plans. On Altar and Brighton and Crown and Gift-3, they make plans. On Moonlock and Seneschal and Skein, on Thyrsis, and on Volition, and on the Brink, and all throughout the Twilight Mirage, they make plans. And in Sinder Karst, and in Joyous Guard, in Carhaix, on the Isle of the Broken Key, in City City, on New Oath, in the Crown of Glass, in Baseline: all across Palisade, the plans are already in motion.
Jade Kill: in motion. Violet Cove and Rose River, Carmine Bight and Gray Pond: in motion. The Blue Channel: they’re moving on them now, because against all odds tomorrow is coming and it brings more work. And for the first time in weeks, the sun will feel good on their skin as they do it.

summary: after the news of Sirius cheating on you broke out to the whole wizarding world, you confronted him about it.
━━ ✦ pairing(s): husband! sirius black x wife! reader
━━ ✦ warning: cheating
━━ ✦ word count: 1,382
AUTHOR'S NOTE: I'M BACK but several months late 😭🙏. here's your request, @lilacspider. hope y'all enjoy <333
Tumblr media
YOU DIDN'T exactly remember how you got in this position; with your eyes screaming anger, sadness, and regret all in one in front of your husband himself, Sirius Black.
You didn't get it, why would he do this? And you will never get it. What was the reason? Were you not enough? Aren't you both happy? Why did everything lead to this? There were so many questions floating in your head yet you preferred if they were left unanswered.
Tho, you quite vividly remembered how you watched your son going back to his playroom after giving you a letter he found somewhere inside the house. How Marlene drank all the remaining butterbeer, putting it down on the table with a loud clang.
How Marlene also started talking shit about Sirius. "Honestly, Black can fuck Merlin's Beard. He and his bloody dick can't control itself." How Dorcas kicked Marlene after hearing what she said. "What? I'm right tho. If he controlled his dick, Y/N wouldn't even be in this situation now."
Everything could ramble all over your fuzzy mind but you would never forget how you looked into a specific page of the Daily Prophet reading Sirius' name. BLACK'S AFFAIR BRINGS SHAME TO FAMILY LEGACY. It was written on the headline.
You couldn't bring yourself to read the whole article. It was heart-wrenching. What would become of your son if he was to know? That the whole wizarding world knew about his father's affair except for him.
But you couldn't bring yourself to tell him about it so here you are, confronting Sirius about it with angry tears from the all-for-nothing years that were wasted because of a single affair.
Letters burnt but a single is saved yet crumpled in between your tightly closed hands.
"Be careful with that one, love. He may have already left the Black household, but what runs through him will never leave. He will do what it takes to survive." That was what Dorcas said. Was what they all said. But did you believe it?
You heard rumors about him yet never once in your life have you doubted Sirius' faithfulness until now.
"Are you happy now? Do you feel proud of yourself?" You managed to crack out. "You got back at the legacy you've always been talking about. And now you have a broken family. Congratulations." Legacy. Such a word to risk something important for. But was it just something important?
Sirius didn't say anything. Maybe he was too ashamed to even say anything. He should be. Sirius opened his mouth to speak yet he didn't say anything. You noted how his jaw clenched and his eyes darting everywhere all at once refusing to look you back in the eye.
"You think you're so slick, don't you? Slithering around behind my back like some kind of serpent. You should've been with the Slytherins like your whole family. Tell me, Sirius, why did you do it?"
A scoff was the only sound that came from his mouth. Sirius set his eyes on you, courage slowly building up and that lump in his throat disappearing. "You were gone. I was alone and lonely." Was the only thing he said.
It didn't need you a minute or two to put things together. It's his dick. It always has been. "Was she worth it then? Trading our vows for your lack of companionship?"
"This isn't the first time, Y/N." Dorcas took a look at you and held your hand in an assuring way. "You've married an Icarus, he has flown too close to the sun." They must've been laughing at you already. Noting how dumb you could be, especially in the face of love.
"No! She was no one! She begged me." Sirius cried. He never cried like this so hard ever since he left the Black household for the better.
You laughed. It was stupid. Men and their ability to make stupid decisions with their dick. "Because you were alone? Do you even know why you're alone, Sirius? Because you refuse to come home and now you're pulling me that bloody excuse of loneliness like it was my fault when it wasn't!"
"But I still love you, Y/N!" He kneeled, wanting to grab your hand and beg to all of the Gods out there, Merlin, but most importantly, to you.
"No. I refuse to believe that. That became a lie ever since you were entangled with that woman." You felt tears building up in the corner of your eyes but you would never let it fall. Not when he could see and may use for his self-pleasure. "My—Cepheus, our son, was always coming to our bedroom asking when you'd be back." You emphasized. "You know what I always tell him? I tell him, "Daddy will come home, honey, once you're a good and big boy already!" and he must've already memorized it."
"I'm a big boy now, aren't I, mother?" Your 6-year-old son asked as he stood in front of a measuring tape for his height.
You've always been in front of your porch, waiting when Sirius would come home. "When was the last time he came home?" You remembered Lily asking that and how you stayed silent thinking carefully, when did he last come home? But you never knew the answer to that.
"Every time I look at you now, I see nothing but betrayal etched into your face. That must've been the reason why you never come home."
Maybe you should've burned the article moments ago so you didn't have to be in this position. Like how you burnt the letters he gave you. "Did your wax wings melt? Because I would never understand where you got the courage to do that and admit it like it was never your fault."
You turn from him and into the table where the newspaper lies. You turn to snatch it from there and show it to Sirius. You let out a chuckle, "It was ironic, honestly. You've always talked about legacy; legacy this, legacy that." You took a moment to compose yourself yet your eyes never left Sirius'. "Are you that blind Sirius? They aren't your legacy Sirius. Your legacy isn't your family who you turned your back on. Not Hogwarts. Not the Marauders. Not the Wizarding World. Not them but us. We are your legacy."
You've married the brightest star in the sky, he collided with another and everything exploded. "You've left scars on my heart that may never heal, all because you couldn't keep it in your pants."
You regained your posture and said, "By the break of dawn, I want every each one your clothes and things gone from this house."
"Mommy, is everything alright?" You heard a soft voice calling out to you. You turned to look at the door and saw how your son was holding onto the doorknob, peaking with his tired eyes that came from his sleep. Sirius stood up from the floor and turned away from Cepheus. "Dad?"
You passed Sirius and walked straight towards your son. "Baby?" You bent down to look at him and saw how he rubbed his eyes with a yawn. "Come on, let's go to bed. Daddy has things to do and he's in a hurry baby."
"He's always gone." Your son muttered, catching Sirius' attention. You both left the room and closed the door behind you.
"Did you and dad fight, mommy?" You only managed to smile.
Dear Y/N,
You're the person I want to spend my entire life with. You're the match in a world full of moths and it's drawing me to you. I chased you ever since first year and I don't plan on just walking towards you anytime soon. I want to run. Let's run till we can't anymore. I would watch the world burn, let the supernova engulf the Universe, and let everything fall apart in front of us as long as I'm with you.
I love you so much, my love. Words can't explain how much I love you to the Saturn and back. But maybe, I'm certain, every time I look at you, I fell a million times over.
Let's build a family. A new legacy of the Blacks. It'll be for us all; and maybe, just maybe we can show them what being a Black is really like.
With all love,
S. O. B.

Evening Café
cw: confession fic, slight pokemon attack,
pairing: Guzma/Reader
He was not the type you would expect to find at a café.
What, with his tired eyes, bleached white hair, and athleisure attire. Well, you would not pretend that you did not have the odd customer pop in similarly dressed before him, but they were usually in and out before you could give them too much thought. It was his order that made you notice him, too.
Hot cocoa.
You did not truly care what your patrons ordered, so long as they were at least on the menu and any substitutions were within reason and in the store. It just seemed like an odd order for him. He often came in later in the day when the store had long cleared out and hung around until it was just before closing time. He made occasional conversation, regularly telling you about what a terrifying trainer he was. You wondered about that. Especially when brought out one of his pokemon during his time in your café.
The Masquerain had flown around him eagerly. He even asked for a cup of sugar water for the bug-type to enjoy. You offered it with ease. He also had his Golisopod out fairly frequently during his visits. The bond between both of them together was always sweet to see him pet the giant pokemon or watch as it pestered him for attention or a treat.  His attempts at intimidation tactics really had no effect on you, either way, when he tried them. As long as he continued to just be a casual regular who came in for a cup of whatever, you did not care. His softer side had already been unintentionally revealed.
The bell rang as you checked your ingredients supply. You turned around to see him awkwardly standing about with two teens at his side. That was also not an uncommon sight to see. A smile fell across your face as you walked up to him. “Hi!” you held a cheery tone as you approached the counter. The girl with hot-pink haired looked mortified by your behaviour, while the boy kept an indifferent look. He always seemed to wrangle in types like that on the trips he had tag alongs. “What can I get you today?” you asked.
“A black coffee and, uh,” the white-haired man turned to the girl, “What did you want again?” You giggled as she squinted at the menu for a moment.
“Lele fruit chiller,” she said, and you nodded. The juice had become quite popular as the temperature grew hotter. Its bright magenta colour was a favourite among your patrons, too. The boy looked over your menu with a sigh.
“Boss, there's nothing here that sounds good,” he told the white-haired man, “… You got anything that doesn't feel like it'll cook me from the inside or isn't a shade of purple?” The oldest of the three shot a glare at the boy and made you laugh a bit. He was completely unaware he just insulted his companion's regular place.
“Er, I do have some sodas,” you replied, “Does that sound alright?” He just nodded, trying to ignore the upset he had given your odd patron. The two teens wandered off to a table while the white-haired man hung around. You gave his a curious look.
“I take it you don't actually want coffee,” you gave him a playful grin, watching as he gazed away from you in a slight embarrassment, “I'll make your usual, then.” He gave you a nod before finally walking off to join his companions. You wondered where he found all the troubled teens he showed up it. He always tried to play his actions aloof and distant, but you found yourself observing him more when he brought company with him. Boss, they all called him. You supposed that was the Team Skull you had heard was causing issues around the islands. Well, you supposed it was not really your problem.
You quickly worked to make their drinks and serve it to them.
~
Time passed away, and you found yourself walking home from your café long after the sun had sunken behind the horizon. There was little worry about danger in a region like Alola, so you had thought nothing of it. You did not live far from your café, anyway. It was an ordinary night walk. A few nocturnal pokemon roamed. Wingulls found a way to menacingly hang around the area. A warm breeze crossed your skin as you walked down the road. Everything felt peaceful.
This, however, quickly came to a sudden shift as a man seemingly came out of nowhere. You tried to move around him, but he stood in the middle of the road. He was wearing a mask over his face and dark clothing. There was some bright red logo on his shirt, but you barely had time to register it as you tried to just get away. Everything about him read completely suspicious. His hand went for a pokeball, and you tried to go for your own. He was too quick, however. A large serpentine pokemon was sent out, and you froze. At any moment, it looked ready to attack you. Its sharp teeth bared as it let out a hiss.
You screamed. It was not at all intentional, but the sound broke free of your throat without your consent. The following moments were followed by a sudden figure rushing out from behind you to tackle your attacker. The pokemon turned its attention to the scene, finally giving you a chance to pull out your own pokemon. Quickly, you knocked it out with your partner.
Your attention shifted to the attacker, to see your odd patron pinning the guy to the ground. You felt stunned.
“Where did you come from?” you asked him, genuinely confused as to how he came to your rescue so fast. The attacker finally managed to get the upper hand. He called back his fainted pokemon and ran off into the foliage. You needed to alert the police about this later. Your patron crossed his arms and wore a deep frown.
“I was on the beach with my Golisopod,” he answered, “Why are you walking alone so late at night?” His expression was something like a disappointed older brother. You wanted to laugh.
“I got caught up cleaning,” you replied, “These things don't normally happen here, you know.” It was luck that you had someone near to rush to help you. “... Gosh, what do I owe you now…” you immediately turned to wondering how to repay him. He scoffed.
“Get home before it's this late,” he replied, “Or, hell, call me, and I'll walk you back.” You turned to him. A snort came from you.
“I expected you to say something a lot worse,” you had taken him as the type of guy to make an innuendo, “I don't even know your name, how can I call you?” His eyes went wide.
“You don't know my name?” he suddenly snapped out of it with a shit-eating grin, “I'm big, bad Guzma!” A title like that may have fit him, had you not seen his softer side already.
“Guzma…” you repeated. Was that not a name of a flower? Tilting your head, you realised you were staring at him. You exchanged numbers with him that night, and he insisted on walking you home. Guzma appeared to be a bit more of an oddity than you first thought. Ah, well, it made him all the more fun to have around, you supposed.
~
A few weeks went by without a sign from the big, bad man, and you wondered about him. You had started a few conversations with him, but they were more light-hearted and not quite at the point where you could demand to know his whereabouts. Maybe he had got busy with something related to his group. Perhaps he had got into the lucrative field of Wimpod breeding. You had known quite a few people who would go mad for the isopod pokemon. It was also possible he found a better place to buy his hot cocoa.
There was little you could do, so you settled yourself back into life, hoping for no repeats of that night.
It was as the evening began to lull in and the appearances of customers grew rarer and rare, that the bell chimed. You called out your generic greeting as you remained turned around and taking care of some dishes. When you did, however, you spotted him. He looked… different. Obviously, his hair and face were the same, but something about his clothes felt off. You walked toward the counter almost instantly. “Hey, Guzma,” you greeted more personally, “How have you been? I haven't seen you for a minute.”
He scratched the back of his head. You noticed his previously dented glasses had been fixed. When his arm moved back down, you noticed the previous ink markings on them were gone. “I got caught up in some stuff,” he replied, “I'm back now. Doubt I'm goin' anywhere like that again.” You wondered what had exactly happened to him.
“Well, it's nice to see you again,” you told him softly, “You want your normal order?” He nodded and took a seat near the counter. When you thought on it, you had not really seen or heard much of Team Skull for a while, either. Had something happened there? It seemed like it would probably be a sore topic to push with him. You finished his drink and brought it out to him. Feeling a bit daring, you took a seat across from him. “I missed having you pop in as my evening company,” you smiled at him.
“... I missed coming,” he said after taking a sip, wiping off the liquid on his upper lip with his hand. You handed him a napkin, and he wiped it off properly. “Nothing happened while I was away, right?” he seemed genuinely worried about you.
“Not a thing,” you replied, “If you want, you can finally take up your offer of walking me home again.” He gave you one of his normal grins, making your chest flutter. It had finally hit you why he had captured your attention so much.
You liked him.
It felt jarring to consider, especially with how light your conversations had been up until recently. But somehow, this delinquent looking guy had completely caught your eye. All the times you watched him take care of his pokemon, or just sit in your café, had made you grow fond of him.
“… You're a sweet guy,” you giggled, “I'm glad I have someone like you around again.”
“'M not sweet,” he tried to give you a glare, “I'm trying to become Champion, now. I got a good opponent.” You had heard about the establishment of Alola's league, finally had happened. Guzma did seem to be a trainer, you supposed. He carried quite a few pokemon with him. In your texts, it had come up that he preferred bug-types even. A bug-type champion. That would be a first.
“You're extremely sweet,” you argued lightly. He just gave a huff, leading to another laugh from you. It seemed he did not want to be interpreted that way. Well, you could keep it a secret. “I mean that as you seem kind,” you continued, “Good luck with your dreams, though. I'd love to hear about a bug-type champion.” His big grin returned. Your heart fluttered. “... I have a day off tomorrow,” you reached a careful hand across the table to catch his bigger warm. It was warm and calloused. “Want to meet up? I'd love to spend more time with you,” you asked, his hand coming around yours. Big, bad Guzma, he absolutely was not around you.
“Sounds great,” he agreed, “I was just thinkin' the same thing.”

;; I Wanna Be Yours 500 Follower Celebration
Summary: You can't handle being just friends with your childhood friend, Brandon Hagel, anymore. Word Count: 1k+
Secrets I have held in my heart are harder to hide than I thought.
Growing up in Morinville, Alberta, where the population was less than 10,000, there was one thing for certain: you knew everyone and everyone knew you. The kids you met on the first day of Kindergarten were the same you graduated with at eighteen. Some would stay and work in Morinville, maybe even marry their high school sweetheart, while others would move to Calgary or Edmonton to go to school. But in Morinville, there was one exception, your best friend: Brandon Hagel.
You had met him in grade school, his family having moved from Saskatoon. You had been too young to remember why or even ask, but the moment he walked into the classroom, and your teacher seated him at the desk beside you, the two of you were best friends. You swapped lunches, and played together at recess. Play dates were often scheduled by your parents, and you even played on the same Timbits hockey team until his skills surpassed your own and you were left to watch him play from the stands.
You were his biggest fan, even as he moved through different leagues, and it became more difficult for you to attend. The WHL, AHL and finally the NHL you had been there for it all one way or another. Watching the game streams on sketchy websites, late night phone calls, traveling to watch him play when he was close enough to home. You did it all, and it didn't go unrecognized. By those who didn't know you, and didn't know your story, you were often mistaken as his girlfriend.
It was something you just shrugged off, and assured those who were embarrassed for making such a statement that it was an honest mistake.
What they didn't know was how desperately you wanted that to be true.
You wanted to be his.
But after what felt like a lifetime together, you were convinced that would never be a reality. Not even as you sat on a beach in Tampa, Florida with Brandon sitting at a table with his teammates behind you.
You had flown down to watch their Stanley Cup Final match against the Colorado Avalanche. You had booked enough time off to be able to enjoy the parade, but it was an event that never came. The Bolts had lost, but you never passed up on the opportunity to enjoy a vacation.
You could hear the guys laughing behind you as you sat in the warmth of the sun. Cirelli had been trying to do some sort of party trick with a Corona and had ultimately failed, sending the table into laughter. Brandon's was the most prominent among them, the sound filling your belly with warmth. You loved his laugh, and the smile that you were sure was spread so fully over his lips. Just the thought of it had you smiling too, but it quickly faded when you heard a soft feminine voice speaking to Brandon.
It wasn't one you recognized, so you perked up in your seat and pretended to stretch as you glanced back at the table. The girl was pretty, and wasn't one of the wives or girlfriends that you had met during your trip. Your smile faded, and your stomach sank in an instant.
You had no right to be jealous. You weren't his girlfriend, he wasn't your boyfriend. He was allowed to flirt with whoever he pleased, and you envied the woman for the courage she had to walk up to an attractive stranger at the beach. It was the courage you wished you had yourself but knew it would never come.
Your shoulders slouched as you sunk back into your seat, a single hand reached up to pull the brim of your sun hat low in an attempt to hide the disappointed look you were sure had overtaken your features. But it was too late, someone had already noticed.
“Hey, is everything okay?” It was the voice of Cirelli's girlfriend that drew your eyes up. She sat in the chair next to you, her body sprawled out and a book in hand. She must have looked up from the pages just long enough to see that something was wrong.
You wished she hadn't.
“Yeah, it's just-” you cut yourself off with an uneven breath, “I'm not feeling well I think I'm going to go back to the hotel.”
“Oh, okay-” was all you could hear leaving her lips. A disappointed sigh as you reached down for your beach bag, pulled on your cover up and left your seat on the beach.
You wasted no time with goodbyes. Brandon wouldn't miss you. Hell, he probably wouldn't even notice you were gone. And if he did, Cirelli's girl could tell him where you went.
Your strides were quick as you moved through the sand and up to the boardwalk where you stopped just long enough to throw your shoes down on the ground. You stepped into them and quickly fell into stride again. You moved through the busy boardwalk with your head down, tears burning at your eyes but you didn't let them spill. Each steady breath you took fought them back, but only fueled the turmoil of frustration in your mind.
You hated that you felt this way. He was your best friend, your longest friend. You should have been happy with how things were. Yet, you wanted more. You would always want more-
There was a thunder of footsteps on the boardwalk behind you. Distant at first. So far you barely heard them but they grew louder, instructing your thoughts and clouding your mind. Your first instinct was to step to the side, out of the way of any jogger or playful child that may have been in your wake. But then you heard your name, a desperate call to get your attention, and you froze.
You would recognize the voice anywhere.
“Brandon?”
He stilled in front of you, his hand reaching up to slick back his shaggy hair that had fallen into his eyes. His breathing was uneven as he recovered from his sprint, and his dark eyes were fixated on you. His stare was magnetic, holding you in place without having to touch you. And you hated it. The hold he had on you, and it left tears to build in your eyes.
And he noticed.
“Hey,” he spoke softly, “ what's wrong?”
“I'm sorry,” your croaked, your weak voice betraying you so quickly, “I just can't be here. I need to go home-”
“Go home?” Brabdon asked.
His face contorted with confusion as he took a small step in and reached out to take hold of your arm. His hand was warm against your skin, sending a fluttering feeling through your body in an instant.
“What are you talking about? You're supposed to be here for another week.”
You wanted to shrug it off. To play it off as nothing, but there was too much you needed to get off your chest. There was no use in keeping secrets anymore. Not when they made you feel the way you did.
“I want to be yours, Brandon,” your words felt like a pathetic plea as they left your lips, “and I can't keep pretending that I don't. You're my best friend, but it hurts too much to just sit back and-”
Brandon didn't let you finish. He didn't have to. His hand  left your arm, his fingers grazing up slowly until you felt the warmth of his palm spread over your cheek. He cupped your face gently and used that hold to draw you in. And he kissed you, so deeply, so feverishly that it left you breathless. And in that moment you knew he felt the same way too. He, like you, had been too scared to ruin the friendship you both treasured so dearly.

not a request!
this is just a thought i had which i want to share
imagine a yandere whose darling doesn't want to escape and they love the yandere a *lot*
but yandere doesn't know it yet
so when darling asks for a sewing needle and scissors, he's very suspicious, but gives it anyway and when darling asks yandere to not look in a particular drawer, he agrees
but darling is very giggly whenever they see him and are clearly hiding something
one day yandere can't hold back and looks into the drawer when darling has been very sus and he finds-
a large piece of embroidery which has clearly taken a lot of time and effort to make and is very detailed. the scissors and needle are there too and yandere realizes tomorrow is his birthday and this is his gift oh sh-
he quickly tries to put it back but darling saw already and is heartbroken that 1. he doesn't trust them 2. their surprise is ruined 3. this would have been the first 'festive' day where they would be properly happy but yandere just ruined it.
they're now inconsolable despite yandere's best efforts
it's been on my mind for a while
love your fic and also this weird thing is happening to me lately that if i read some fics of a character from your masterlist, you'll release a fic of the same character a few hours later. latest was scaramouche.
bye <3
Thanks for sharing the thought! Honestly this could have come right out of one of my daydreams.
I loooooooove the angst involved in a miscommunication/misunderstanding. Especially when you factor in that a darling in this situation would just be so emotionally vulnerable, and to have them feel untrusted & hurt would be like 100000x worse with that in mind.
"also this weird thing is happening to me lately that if i read some fics of a character from your masterlist, you'll release a fic of the same character a few hours later. latest was scaramouche."
Oh shoot... okay read a fic about Chrollo so I can finish the Chrollo soulmate AU. I am tasking you with this!! (Okay I have chrollo Au scheduled today for my writing sprints regardless, so it will probably get done today/tomorrow unless my elbow flares up like it did yesterday as I have flown a bit too close to the sun with 30 minute sprints--back down to 15 minutes at a time).

Six Months Later
Prompt: Y/N and Bradley have been broken up for six months and haven't seen each other. When they finally see each other again, Y/N remembers one of her favorite nights with him.
Warning: Sex
Word Count: 1268
~~~~
It had been six months since Y/N and Bradley had broken up. The hardest six months of Y/N’s life. As time went on Y/N told herself that it would get easier but that hadn’t happened yet. Bradley crossed her mind all the time. She had always thought that Bradley was ‘the one.’ In fact, she still believed that he was ‘the one.’
It had helped that Y/N hadn’t seen him since they had broken up but now that all of the top pilots of Top Gun had been called back for a mystery mission, she was preparing herself for seeing him. She had no idea what this mission entailed but she knew that she would probably be working closely with him.
Y/N arrived at the infamous Hard Deck bar. For a Tuesday night it was already packed with locals and pilots from Top Gun. Penny, the owner, spotted Y/N and gave her a wave. Y/N smiled back and continued towards the back of the bar. Everyone from Top Gun was playing pool and Y/N recognized her close friend, Phoenix, playing against Fanboy. The game finished just as Y/N joined them and Phoenix pulled her into a hug.
“I’m so glad you’re here!” Phoenix cried, excitedly.
“Me too,” Y/N said, laughing.
Her eyes nervously scanned the room, looking for Bradley. Although she wasn’t sure who had been invited back, she had a suspicion that he was going to be one of them. He was one of the best pilots that she had ever flown with. It was then that she saw him. He was wearing one of his obnoxious Hawaiian shirts, blue jeans, and his classic Aviator sunglasses. He pushed his sunglasses to the top of his head as he walked over and greeted Coyote. Once he greeted Coyote he strolled around and introduced himself to the others. After a minute it was obvious that he wasn’t going to acknowledge Y/N. Phoenix gave her a gentle squeeze on the shoulder before walking over to the bar, promising to bring a drink back for Y/N.
Y/N sank down into a chair, her eyes watching Bradley. He hadn’t changed at all. She also couldn’t help but notice that all of her old feelings came flooding back the moment she had spotted him. Her favorite memory of them together, rushed to her mind. It took place on the beach just outside of the Hard Deck.
The beach was empty, everyone was back at The Hard Deck, relaxing after a long week. Bradley had grabbed Y/N’s hand and guided her down the beach, wanting some time alone.
Together they watched the sunset, her back pressed against his stomach. His hands gently rested on her stomach, drawing lazy circles on her hips. Just from the simple touch, Y/N’s core gently throbbed. It had been almost a week since they had been intimate and his touch was driving her crazy.
It was clearly driving Bradley crazy as well. She could feel his length harden against her back side. When the sun set and the beach was dark, Bradley gently turned her around, facing him.
“I love you Y/N,” Bradley said, placing his lips against hers. His hands grabbed onto her hips and pulled her against him.
She wrapped her arms around his neck and he slid his hands to the back of her thighs. He picked her up and moved them underneath the pier, out of sight of prying eyes. He came to a stop towards the back and gently placed her down. She watched as he sat down on the sand, grabbed her hand and pulled her down on top of him. Her legs wrapped around his waist and she dug her toes in the sand.
His hands grabbed her ass and pulled her against him and she moved her hips against his. His erection pressed against her core with each move. Bradley’s fingers dipped underneath Y/N’s sundress, brushing against her underwear. The material was already wet as Bradley pushed the material aside and ran his fingers along her core, rubbing against her sensitive spot.
Y/N let out a soft moan from his touch and placed her hand on his arm. Bradley gave her a questioning look as she pulled his hand away from her.
“Just fuck me already,” she whispered into his ear.
Bradley’s brown eyes grew wide from her straight forwardness. She reached down and unzipped his jeans and slightly pulled down his black boxer briefs, freeing his erection. Her hand wrapped his length and he reached under her dress and pushed aside her underwear. He let out a moan as she ran his length along her wet folds.
“Jesus Y/N,” Bradley breathed before placing his hand on top of hers.
Y/N stood up slightly and lowered herself onto him, allowing his length to fill her up. Bradley’s hands gripped her waist, guiding Y/N, back and forth. This was new to them as Bradley was normally in control however Y/N was enjoying it and clearly Bradley was as well. His eyes were closed as Y/N continued to move her hips against his. She placed her hands on his shoulders, pulling herself against him.
“Faster,” Bradley groaned as Y/N quickened the pace.
The knot in her stomach was quickly growing with each movement. She was trying her best to keep from coming undone but as the pace quickened the harder it was to hold. Moaning louder than she meant to, Y/N’s walls clenched around Bradley’s length as he released into her.
Y/N waited a moment before moving off of Bradley and sat down next to him. His arm wrapped around her shoulder and she leaned into him.
“I love you Bradley,” she whispered and he placed a soft kiss on the top of her head.
“Y/N?!” Phoenix called, waving her hands frantically in front Y/N. “Earth to Y/N?!”
Y/N blinked and looked around. She had forgotten where she was for a moment. Everyone was in the same spot, except for Bradley. He was making his way over to Y/N, his signature Corona in his hand. He nodded at Phoenix before she walked away, giving Y/N one last look.
“Hi,” Bradley said looking at Y/N.
“Hey,” Y/N whispered.
“How have you been?” Bradley asked, taking a seat next to her.
“I’ve been…fine. How about you?”
“I’ve been ok.”
Y/N looked up at him, surprised by his answer. “Just ok?”
Bradley nodded, his finger picking at the label of his beer. “Yea…”
It was silent for a moment before Bradley took a deep breath. “Look, Y/N…fuck,” he began, running his fingers through his hair. “I fucking miss you. I’ve thought about you every day and I told myself that I would eventually get over it but I haven’t. I just want to fucking be with you.”
Y/N was shocked by his revelation. This was what she had been hoping for but now that the moment was here, she was nervous and she had no idea why.
“I don’t want to get hurt again…” she said quietly.
Bradley reached across the table and placed his hand on hers. “I promise I will never do anything to hurt you again. I never want to lose you.”
Y/N laced her fingers with his and stood up. She walked around the table and sat down on his lap. Bradley’s free hand rested on her bare thigh.
“Promise?” Y/N asked.
“Promise.”
"You're beautiful, you're wonderful! Incredible, I love you so You're beautiful! Each moment spent with you is simply wonderful This love I have for you, girl, it's incredible And I don't know what I'd do If I can't be with you The world could not go on so every night I pray If the Lord should come for me before I wake I wouldn't want to go if I can't see your face Can't hold you close What good would Heaven be? If the angels came for me I'd tell them no"
Michael Jackson – "Heaven Can Wait"
The king and queen rose early at approximately seven in the morning to shower and eat a quick breakfast of porridge, scrambled eggs and fried crocodile sausage. They chose to wear periwinkle blue linen pants and tight long-sleeved shirts to protect them from the sun that was supposed to warm the entire day without rain for once. Stylish and functional, their fits looked good enough for a royal cocktail party. Yani carefully placed her queen's isicholo on her head. Her crown was meant for all public appearances, no matter the occasion.
Okoye was adamant that they were escorted to the market on the water and also when they walked on land again. That meant four Dora Milaje canoes flanked Yani's and N'Jadaka's river paddling. The Royal Talon Fighter would be on stand-by in the air on remote if the royal couple had to be swept away from overzealous crowds.
N'Jadaka had hoped he and Yani could blend in discreetly with the people, but his aura was hard to hide behind shades and covered locs. It was better to just be open about their appearances. He walked like royalty and his presence alone jarred people in person, especially up close.
They were both excited to start their trip downriver right away. Ayo had arranged for them to have lunch at a secured location inland and stinger aircraft flown by his hand-picked Onyx Squad would track them on the water hidden behind their spectral camouflage.
He helped Yani climb into their canoe and he settled in behind her. They worked in tandem rowing with the oars for ten miles and he eventually told Yani to stop rowing so she could rest her arms and take in the views before they arrived to their destination. He paddled at a leisurely pace. Yani stuck her hand in the cool emerald water and glanced back at him occasionally with a huge smile on her face. He looked all around pleased that the weather was perfect. Directly in front of their canoe at fifty feet was Okoye. Behind them was Ayo, and on their sides were Quamba and Aneka. He knew they were having fun with them by the slips of grins that he caught on their faces whenever Yani squealed about the beauty of the landscape on the wide river, snapping more holo-pics with her kimoyo beads.
To their right lurking just above the surface were a pair of crocodiles that ignored them as they floated by. Everything around them was wide open, green and lush. Yani waved her hands with thrilled abandon.
"I see it! I see it!" she said.
N'Jadaka could already smell the odors of cooked food, fresh fish, sweet foods, and smoking grills. Music peppered the air in the distance and there were already river boat vendors shouting about their wares for sell all across the wide body of water. Quaint floating shops shaped the throughway for all the customer boats floating about. Larger craft shops and riverside cafes closer to shore were propped up on stilts. Entire families rowed long boats to shop for seafood, crocodile meat, chicken, goat, or beef, rice, vegetables and fruits plucked from the rainforest. Entire platters of cooked combination meals were already being served hot and it was only a quarter past nine. Sparkly trinkets, hand-crafted rugs, colorful rainbows of fabric and jewelry were sold too. It reminded N'Jadaka of a Moroccan-styled Open Air Bazaar except it all took place on the river itself.
River security riding on sleek Wakandan-styled personal watercraft jetted over to Okoye and she gave them instructions on how they would proceed through the floating market. Five more security watercrafts took their direction from their boss and N'Jadaka paddled them forward.
Word spread fast.
Vendors and customers gaped openly at the king and queen. No one there was told of their arrival. Only the river security team was notified and there were emergency contingency plans on their route there. Luckily, the people were respectful. Many tried to pretend it wasn't a big deal to have royalty floating near them shopping for goods like regular citizens.
The colors and aroma of the market dazzled the eye and nose. The sounds of laughter and shouts to buy goods kept Yani enthralled. He noticed a large Ferris wheel on a pier that reached across the water filled with all kinds of amusements. Tall metal poles held an aerial tram ride that carried six people at a time over the treetops. There was also a zipline that shot couples down an exciting adventure below the grand heights of the outer emergent layer of broad-leaf forest trees that had lived for almost one thousand years.
An elderly vendor in one of the floating shops waved his thin dark carob-brown arm to get Yani's attention so she could taste a sample of his fresh chocolate candies. Yani gobbled down what looked like a piece of fudge with coconut and peanuts in it. She leaned back and handed a sample to him. He ate it and the chocolate had a kick to it as it melted on his tongue. The peanuts were roasted in cayenne pepper infused honey and the fresh grated coconut was soft.
Yani purchased a pound of it using her kimoyo beads, tapping it against the small yellow screen floating above the vendor's beads. She tucked the candy inside the water-proof bags she brought to collect souvenirs. Easing in among the other customers they enjoyed strong thick coffee with a springy layered flatbread smothered in cherry butter. They licked fingers, sipped, and spoke choppy D'Ja, a River Tribe dialect, to the proprietor floating next to their canoe with the help of their translator buds. The River Tribe territory was inside Birnin D'Jata and because the Panther Tribe and River Tribe ancestral territory overlapped, D'Ja was often used as a universal tongue since they shared a similar linguistic root.
N'Jadaka paddled further into the throng of small boats, some shaped like micro-sized catamarans carved from wood that could hold up to four people and their goods in the center. Yani inspected bananas, mangoes, passion fruit, papayas, loquats, and various tree nuts before buying two pounds of fried plantain chips from a young woman who couldn't stop fawning over meeting the queen in person. He watched his wife nibble fried fish nuggets and barter over sweetbread stuffed with sweet vanilla cream.
"Yani, you'll be too full to eat lunch at the restaurant later," he said.
She crammed half of the sweetbread in her mouth and flushed it down with chocolate goat's milk.
"I'll make room," she said stuffing the other half of bread into her mouth.
The two older women who sold Yani the sweetbread grinned at the king. One of them clucked her tongue at him in a friendly way.
"Kumkani, it has been a long time since we have had a good round queen. It is propper to fatten up your wife. It makes her even more beautiful than she already is. Here we call Queen Yani our special daughter because she looks like us with lighter skin. Do not deny her the pleasure of food. A fat woman is a gorgeous woman who is loved," she said.
N'Jadaka burst out laughing at the openness.
"Fatten her up, huh?" he said.
The woman nodded emphatically and stuffed another bag of sweetbread into Yani's hand.
"I promise you kumkani, make her a bigger woman and you will never have any problems in your life."
He sampled the bread and stayed away from any more sweets. However, he did put another small round sweetbread in Yani's hand. Good elderly women never steered him wrong and he always enjoyed big women. Another thirty pounds on Yani might be the move, he thought.
"There's so much to see here…almost too much. I can't believe this goes on every day," Yani said.
Their security made sure they had plenty of room to maneuver and that made it easier for him to control the canoe and keep it from bumping into boats crammed close to theirs and the Doras. Vendor after vendor slid their boats against each other trying to sway customers their way. From an outsider's perspective it looked chaotic to N'Jadaka, but there was a natural rhythm to the dense population sharing water space. A pretty woman in a faded green dress and short close-cropped hair floated next to their boat under Okoye's watchful eye so that Yani could check out her supply of fresh flowers picked from the forest floor earlier that morning. N'Jadaka paid for several bouquets delighting the vendor. He allowed her to take a picture of him and Yani. Aneka snapped the holo-pic with her kimoyo and transferred the image to the woman so she could be in the photo too. Once Yani had her fill of shopping on the water and filling their canoe and all of their Dora Milaje's canoes too, they went to the pier, tied their canoe, and had one of the River security men guard their things from prying eyes.
Helping his wife out of the canoe, they were met with people holding up their kimoyo's to record their travel onto the land. Some observers seemed to just want a chance to catch a whiff of Yani's walking by air, because her perfume attracted oglers like bees waltzing to a honeycomb. Okoye and Quamba shooed folks away, but didn't deny them holo-vids under Yani's command. No citizen had become unruly and she didn't feel the need to stop them from capturing her image. Okoye warned them to stay at a respectful distance from the couple. Yani pulled a light blue shawl over her shoulders and they walked hand-in-hand up the steps that led to a busy amusement area. People played all manner of games like shooting long water guns at fish and crocodile images, and fished directly from the pier. Some ate ice cream and other treats as they watched visitors chatter and scream on spinning rides or amuse themselves being entertained by magicians and a puppet show for children. There was a line of thrill- seekers waiting to ride the zip line. A group of young musicians played instruments and sang songs for tips. The large Ferris wheel took up the far end of the pier. Scattered throughout were picnic tables where people could eat their bought food or just relax and enjoy the weather and a view of the wide river below.
They made it a point to visit each entertainment stall and snack station to say hello to the people they ruled over. Yani greeted children who shyly waved at her and giggled when she asked for their names and spoke to their parents. N'Jadaka shook hands and did his part to be cordial like his wife.
The zip line attendant allowed them to cut in the front of the line much to the insistence of the thirty people already waiting before them. Okoye and Ayo rode it first to place themselves at the final destination point before he and Yani went down. He walked up the stairs that took them to the top of the platform where a young man eagerly strapped them into the double seats. Yani held the thin strap in front of them and yelped when they were pushed down. They were so high up. Their legs dangled above the emergent layer and then there was a gentle downward swoosh as the zipline carried them through the opening in the canopy. Yani laughed and yelled her loudest to hear her voice travel across the scenery. Both their stomachs dropped. He laughed too and enjoyed the view flying past them while keeping his hand on Yani's isicholo to keep it from flying off. At the very bottom of the forest floor, Okoye and Ayo stood watching them disembark. Waiting for Aneka and Quamba to reach them, they decided to ride the aerial tram to see other parts of the forest that would also return them back up to the top where the market was, saving them a tiresome hike up the stairs or using the long escalator that ferried people back to the starting point. They rode in their own tram with the Doras in front and behind them in separate transports.
"The air is so clean and so different from Zana. Smell it?" Yani asked.
He nodded.
Far below a herd of domesticated water buffalo crossed a section of the Ibukun and Yani sighed.
"We are so blessed," she said in awe.
He stroked her cheek and kissed her.
"Happy?" he asked.
"Very."
Yani rubbed his arm.
"Let's go and find the restaurant. You're running low on batteries and wearing your hungry face," she said.
N'Jadaka clasped her hand and on their return to the market pier, Okoye guided them through a tumultuous boardwalk filled with shoppers and other citizens simply going about their regular day. They were gawked at and plenty of people stopped in their tracks to watch them pass. Yani's isicholo gave her a regal bearing that was gentler to take in as opposed to his larger-than-life figure. A few children ran up and handed Yani flowers and handmade bracelets. She accepted the flowers and sniffed their fragrance. N'Jadaka helped her put on the bracelets after Okoye scanned them for anything strange. The king didn't sense any oddities, but appreciated Okoye's thorough nature.
Ayo hustled them away to give them room for sightseeing the land-based shops and various cafes filled to the brim with men and women enjoying brunch on sidewalk seating. Most people stood up immediately the moment they realized who they were seeing, and others froze, too stunned to do anything but stare.
"This is the establishment, kumkani and ukumkanikazi. The proprietor's name is Lungile Chilza. His family has run this business for over fifty years. His wife, Nomble Chilza is the head chef," Okoye said.
Lungile and Nomble stood waiting for them at the front entrance. Nomble wore a pale green chef's hat and matching chef's apron. Her dark skin was without blemish for her age and her smile held white teeth with small gaps in them that made her look even more youthful. Lungile was a robust man with hair whiter than soft cotton that floated like a cloud three inches off his scalp. His ebony skin was shiny and smooth like his wife's.
Yani stepped forward first and greeted them both. She shook their hands and the older couple gushed over her before N'Jadaka was brought forward. He elicited nervous energy in them both. Giving a heartfelt smile that relaxed them, N'Jadaka held out his hand to Lungile and the man shook it firmly.
"King N'Jadaka…Queen Yani, my wife has prepared a wonderful meal for you. Come inside, please, make yourself comfortable. We have you seated at our best table."
Lungile held out his hand inviting them in. Okoye and Ayo stepped in first to inspect the place and gestured for them to enter. Yani sauntered in first and they immediately noticed the exquisite artwork on the walls. Landscape paintings of the Ibukun River and portraits of Birnin D'Jata life at night.
"Here…sit here, please," Nomble said.
N'Jadaka reached to pull out the chair for Yani, but Lungile beat him too it, his pudgy yet spritely frame eager to please. Yani sat down and Nomble admired the isicholo on her head.
"Your crown is so lovely Queen Yani. I enjoyed watching your nuptials to the king. It was all that everyone talked about."
"Thank you, Nkosikazi Chilza," Yani said.
"Please, call me Nomble, daughter. You are family here," Nomble said.
The other patrons in the restaurant peeked at them, but then went about eating their own meals when his eyes cast out to take in more of the restaurant décor. Lungile poured them refreshing cool glasses of chilled passion fruit juice along with glasses of water.
"Would you like anything stronger, kumkani? We have a wide array of wines and other beverages."
"This is fine for me. Yani would you like anything else?"
"I'd like a glass of your best wine from this region," Yani said.
Lungile clapped his hands thrilled that she wanted to try something else from their place.
"My wife has cooked you both a delicate smoked pork brisket smothered in a mango glaze with some savory greens and our famous spicy plantains. I will bring you a glass of D'Jata's most popular white wine that will tickle your tastebuds, my queen."
"Spicy plantains? My father Prince N'Jobu cooked those all the time for me and my mother," N'Jadaka said.
Lungile patted his chest with pride.
"Your father used to come to our restaurant when he spent time here as a teenager. My wife taught him our special recipe to make them."
"Then I have her to thank for making my belly happy when I was a child."
Lungile beamed and his wife returned to their table carrying two platters of finger foods to start their meal.
"The king loves your plantains. Prince N'Jobu cooked it for him and is mother," Lungile gushed.
Nomble cheesed hard, her cheeks rising up higher than the sun outside.
"I think in another life your father would've been a wonderful chef. He was a quick learner and loved food. He would fly here all the time with your grandparents and…."
Nomble stopped talking.
"Finish what you were about to say," N'Jadaka said.
"I do not want to upset you kumkani."
"You won't."
"I was going to say your uncle's name. My apologies for making that mistake."
"No need to apologize. My family held this place in high regard. It's why I brought my wife here. To enjoy what my father loved."
Nomble nodded quickly and her eyes watered, fearful of upsetting the king despite what he said. He reached out and held her hand.
"No reason to get upset Mama Nomble. I take no offense and look forward to chowing down on the best pork brisket in Birnin D'Jata," he said.
Nomble trembled with his hand covering hers. His touch shook her up and she wiped her eyes. Yani stood up and gave the woman a hug.
"He means what he says Mama Nomble," Yani said.
"Eh eh…the king and queen have called me Mama…me a humble cook," Nomble said.
"Who said you were humble?' N'Jadaka joked, "I heard you brag on your food to rival the chefs in the double palace."
A few patrons eavesdropping laughed at his comment and Nomble held her cheeks.
"Brag on yourself!" N'Jadaka said.
"Yes, I am the best!' Nomble conceded and even Lungile laughed with her. "Let me get the rest of your food. Baba, keep them entertained until I return."
N'Jadaka glanced at the window of the restaurant. A crowd of people stole glances at them, pressing their noses to the glass.
"I will close the blinds to give you privacy," Lungile said.
"No. Let them watch. Queen Yani doesn't want any special attention other than ones needed for safety. We are customers like anyone else."
"No…no kumkani, you are our guests. This meal is our treat."
"I insist on paying. Let me contribute to your continued success."
Lungile wanted to shake his head, but N'Jadaka's voice was commanding and the man grew nervous at the idea of pressing the matter.
Nomble returned with four servers. Three held large platters of food and a fourth carried a warm bowl of lemon water and hand towels to clean their hands. The food was placed on the table along with plates and bowls. Two servers helped him and Yani wash and dry their hands.
"Mama Nomble…Baba Lungile…you will join us, won't you?" Yani asked.
The elderly couple looked shocked at the request. A bottle of white wine was brought over to their table. Yani waved a hand to get the attention of another server.
"Please bring two more plates, bowls and wine glasses for Mama Nomble and Baba Lungile," Yani said.
The server hurried away and N'Jadaka stood to pull back the chairs across from them for the elders. Nomble handed her chef's hat and apron to another server. Her silvery-white hair was styled in puffy Nubian knots. She took her seat next to her husband and N'Jadaka helped push their chairs closer to the food-laden table. Lungile gave instructions to another server to take his place as the host and Nomble gave instructions to her other cooks to continue working without her.
"A toast," N'Jadaka said after he poured glasses of wine for his hosts.
Glasses clinked and the wine tasted crisp and delightfully elegant. A perfect pairing with pork. Yani shared their day in the market and the older couple sat spellbound listening to his wife rave about their honeymoon thus far. N'Jadaka discussed the history of the river market with Lungile full of enthusiasm, and after a couple of glasses of wine and delectable food, all four of them chatted like lifelong friends catching up. Loquacious and energetic, Nomble and Lungile were avid historians and prideful people. N'Jadaka learned more about the River Tribe in one sitting than he ever did reading about it or hearing tidbits from Nakia. The Chilza's were happy to answer any question they had, and Yani had plenty more over dessert.
"There are so many breathtaking places throughout D'Jata," Yani stated over another glass of dessert wine that was nearly empty, "We hiked above the waterfall near Ekuqaleni and it looked so unreal above the trees."
"Ekuqaleni is a very special place to the River Tribe. It is where the Panther Tribe and River Tribe made their truce before the final war of binding us all together with King Bashenga," Nomble said.
N'Jadaka offered to pour more after-dinner wine for her, but she held up a hand and latched her eyes onto Yani's.
"We were told our tribe had a habit of intermarrying with yours," N'Jadaka said.
"Elder Bhira's niece and your cousin carried on the tradition. In a way, you've also carried it," Nomble said.
"How so?"
Nomble folded her plump fingers on the table and smiled at Yani first before wrenching her eyes away to gaze at the king.
"She is a child of Mama Wati. As was your mother kumkani. We see the Lost Tribe as our kin. Other tribes in Wakanda do not agree, but we do. In our oldest creation stories they say that a lost child from outside will return here and raise an empire."
"Empire?" N'Jadaka chuckled.
Yani studied his face carefully. It was a touchy subject with her since their return from the states. Several African nations surrounding them accused him of that so often that it became a narrative that carried far and wide on the continent.
"I have no plans for empire, and I've never read in our books about creation where someone comes back here to do that," he said.
Lungile patted his wife's hand and Nomble grinned.
"Not your Panther Tribe stories, kumkani, ours. My people of this region," Nomble corrected.
"Tell us your story," Yani asked.
"I have taken up much of the talking, I will let my husband share that."
Nomble looked at Lungile and he cleared his throat.
"We used to think they were fables…myths that we told our people in times of war, famine or intertribal disagreements that may have led to more war. I suppose every culture in the world has a story about a savior of some kind appearing to redress all wrongs. Isn't that what the Christians out there believe their Jesus will do? In Wakanda, Bast is the great cosmic mother who birthed daughters and sons that she planted like seeds on this earth. One of her daughters, Mama Wati, was planted near here before there was any water in the world at all. The Ibukun River that we know of today used to be a big dry gorge that stretched all the way to where the sea is now. Bast spit on her precious seed, and our water goddess sprang forth fully formed. This is why every newly married king must offer his seed back to her in a burning ceremony before he can taste the fruits of his wife—"
"Lungile! Sthhh! Must you say that in front of our queen?" Nomble scolded before covering her mouth with embarrassment.
Lungile lifted his hands palms up and stared at his wife.
"Aye…Mama…it is part of the story they have asked me to tell."
Yani laughed and tilted her head. Her eyes twinkled.
"Go on, Baba…tell us more," Yani encouraged.
Nomble rolled her eyes and sat back in her chair with her arm thrown over the back of it, her body turned toward her husband. Lungile slowed his cadence, making his voice sound more dramatic with the telling.
"Mama Wati made the great trek through Wakanda leaving water in her wake, creating all of our lakes and rivers and waterfalls until she reached our empty ocean and gave the world all of the liquid you see all over the planet. She was given dominion over all the water that birthed all the creatures in the sea and even mankind. She is the goddess of childbirth and healing. She is the goddess who cradled the first man and first woman on this earth. The Panther Tribe says that Bast is the mother of us all, but in our ancient stories that were written on the sides of cliff walls in a language we don't even speak anymore, she is actually the grandmother. Mama Wati is our ancient mother. She is your mother too," Lungile said with conviction.
The older man's voice grew softer. He sipped some dessert wine and looked down at his fingers.
"In the dark days, when the slavers came to this continent, we in Wakanda didn't always have secure boarders or have the full capabilities to make our shield dome just yet. The border tribe protected all of us. They are some of our fiercest fighters. We were still warring with the nations along our borders and knew we had to close ourselves off from the rest of the world in order to prevent more bloodshed and other countries discovering our secret. Mama, you tell the rest, you know it better than me," Lungile said.
Nomble turned back to Yani and N'Jadaka.
"Well…there are several versions of a prophecy that have been handed down, and depending on which clan you talk to, it is said that a child of ours…a Wakandan…would come to us from the outside world and help protect the entire nation by creating a vast empire by absorbing other tribes into our fold. No one believed it of course because we had closed ourselves off for centuries. We were never slaves to anyone so it would be impossible for Wakandan blood to leave our borders…let alone return to conquer other nations and rule over them. But here is the most interesting part, and this comes from the eastern faction of our region…"
N'Jadaka glanced at Yani and his wife's eyes were as big as plums. She had leaned forward in her seat. He reached over and rubbed the middle of her back. Nomble palmed her hands together, warming up to her addition of the story.
"The people there say that it's not one child who will return, but actually two from very different places in the world who will guide the hand in the building of a future empire. Unfortunately, the stories never say when this will happen."
"Well it can't be me or in my time because I'm the only person to return here with Wakandan lineage from the outside that shifted the culture… and like I said, empire building is not on my agenda," N'Jadaka said.
Nomble nodded her head.
"The prophecy says that it will happen in a time of great distress, and I think you have already fulfilled it when you fought the alien intruders. You are powerful enough for two people, kumkani," Nomble said.
"Or," N'Jadaka said, "My greatest grandfather already fulfilled the myth by uniting all the tribes during the great battles back in the day. Remember, he was still an outsider to your people until he married Queen Tiye, your tribal member. Their first child was born outside of this territory and brought back to your people."
"True, true," Nomble said, "But the elders of long ago had many stories and who knows, we could be living out what was told long ago and choose to ignore it because we think myths and fairy tales are for children."
N'Jadaka thought of the stories he was raised with back in Oakland. Believing in fairy tales from his father brought him an entire kingdom to rule. As far as he was concerned, fairy tales held kernels of truth. Had he fulfilled the legends on their cliff walls and whispers around long ago campfires? If two children were supposed to come back…
Riki and Joba.
His heart thumped a little faster. His two youngest children came from two very different places in the world. They had Wakandan blood through him.
Lungile lifted his wine glass and his hand shook slightly. He was a little tipsy.
"To King N'Jadaka Udaku and also our first ruler, King Bashenga…two great kings who helped save the nation twice…our myths who sprang to life!" Lungile said.
N'Jadaka and Yani raised their glasses for a final toast.
A pregnant customer headed for the exit with her husband and Yani stopped them to ask how far along she was. The expectant mother shared that she was seven months along. After they left, servers began lighting candles on all the tables. Yani checked her kimoyo beads.
"We have been here for three hours. Taking up all your time," Yani said.
"Stay as long as you like, in fact, stay for the dancing," Nomble said.
"Dancing?" N'Jadak glanced around at the dining area. The Chilza's restaurant had nothing but tables and chairs for eating.
"Come see…in the back," Lungile said.
He ushered them with their Doras who finished eating their own meal hours ago to a door that led to another section of the restaurant that was set up with a bar and a dance floor. A bartender and a few waiters prepared for an evening crowd. D.J. equipment was set up in a corner and a woman behind the D.J. booth fiddled with a soundboard. Everyone stopped what they were doing to set their eyes on the king and queen.
The walls were decorated with giant pink flamingoes and 3D blue lagoons that gave the space a marshland setting that didn't match the décor in the restaurant. Nomble noticed the confusion on N'Jadaka's face.
"In three weeks the pink flamingoes flock here before they set off for Birnin S'Yan's beaches, right before the Mama Wati celebrations. It is a spectacular sight. Vast numbers, over two hundred thousand alone flock to Umbono Lake and then migrate through our territory," Nomble said.
"What do you think, kumkani, hmm?" Lungile said, wiggling his hips and holding his hands out like he had a dancing partner, "You and our wonderful queen enjoying a night of music and dancing together?"
N'Jadaka waved his hand. He rubbed his stomach and reached for Yani's hand, pulling her next to him.
"You have fed us beyond capacity. Your reputation as a master chef has been proven Mama Nomble and because of that, we'll probably start to nod off. Another time," he said.
Yani released his hand and held Nomble's shoulders, "Thank you for your hospitality and the fantastic food. We will come again real soon and bring our children."
"That would be our honor, ukumkanikazi. Please let us show you out," Nomble said.
Lungile rushed off to the back of the bar and met them outside later carrying another bottle of top shelf wine and a small tan biodegradable container.
"A gift from us. Enjoy it tonight. Our best wine you enjoyed and some spicy plantains to snack on later. It is Mama Wati's favorite offering outside of sugary sweets and flowers. Give some to the river and she will taste that you know her as your own," Lungile said.
N'Jadaka took the gifts. The Dora Milaje blocked off the street as the royal couple said their final goodbyes. The evening patrons studied their interactions and Okoye summoned the Royal Talon Fighter to fly above them for a gravitational pick up. The tracker beam pulled them into the aircraft and Yani hugged N'Jadaka's waist.
"Today was so beautiful," Yani said.
She settled in their comfortable couch in the back and they watched their flight across the boardwalk. Ayo traced her fingers on the viewscreen across from them to lift the six canoes they used that were stuffed with all of their river market shopping. A gravitational force field kept the canoes stuck against the bottom of the aircraft.
They arrived at the treehouse encampment in time to catch a new display of stars above the river tributary. The canoes were lowered onto the ground with them and Yani picked out items that could go onto their houseboat, and the rest that would be stored on the Talon Fighter. The Doras worked quickly and the canoes were pulled back up to the aircraft.
"Remember to leave two canoes at the houseboat. We'll need the extra for when the children join us," N'Jadaka instructed Aneka.
Yani pulled off her isicholo and walked up the stairs into the treehouse.
"I am beat," she sighed.
She tucked her crown inside the special hat box made for it that locked by her fingerprint. Too tired to bathe or do anything else, they slipped off their clothes and went to bed early. They cuddled and listened to the night song of nocturnal creatures.
"Okoye had a hard time today, yeah?" Yani said in the darkness of the room.
The faint light of stars appeared above the skylight. He stroked Yani's arm.
"She doesn't like us to mingle with citizens in the streets for long. Too much unpredictability and one thing that woman wants is to control every security move."
"It looked like she had a little fun, even though she was strict."
"Yeah, they all did I think."
"Imagine being forced to canoe on a lovely day and fly across tree tops," Yani said.
"The nerve of us making her do all that," N'Jadaka teased.
"I know right? Her having to eat chocolate and cake samples because the queen couldn't make up her mind which tasted better."
"You also demanded that she eat that jumbo fried shrimp plate while on duty at the restaurant."
"I expect our security personnel to comply with my wishes at all times."
"You are a cruel ruler. They will ask to have your head cut off!"
They giggled together.
"Tomorrow we will simply relax, read, and nap…deal?' he said.
"Deal."
Yani lifted her head and pressed her lips softly against his.
"I love you so much," she whispered.
"I love you, too."
Yani drifted off to sleep before he did. When she had slept for a least an hour peacefully, he detached from her and pulled on a robe. He needed to check the grounds before he could fall asleep and decompress from the day alone.
"I know your big asses aren't on that furniture," N'Jadaka scolded.
S'Bu and Unathi lounged on the outdoor couch. Unathi jumped up at the sound of his voice and quickly leapt from the couch to scurry onto a thatch of soft grass near the treehouse. S'Bu rolled over on his belly.
"Nah, man. Get down and go sleep somewhere else. Y'all ain't slick. Now I know what you do when we aren't watching. Go on now…get."
N'Jadaka clapped his hands and S'Bu joined the other panther.
"Watch my wife. Stay here," he said in Wakandan.
Both panthers ambled over to either side of the staircase entrance of the treehouse and watched him move quietly around the perimeter. He sniffed the air and used his own special nocturnal vision to check for movement of any animals. He had been warned that crocodiles sometimes crawled onto the land to sleep under their outdoor furniture often, attracted by the energy of the place. There were protective barriers and warning systems in place to let them know if any had snuck into their area.
Nothing was out of order.
The moon finally rose above the trees. A halo of colorful hazy light surrounded it indicating new rain to come in a few days. It was a good sign. He and Yani would be floating on their houseboat and could enjoy the patter of raindrops falling on the lake they would anchor down in for a week.
Moonlight sparkled on the tributary and he thought of the conversation with the Chilzas. They reiterated what he had been told about Ekuqaleni. It was a place of enchantment that made one feel that anything in life was possible for those who walked among the ancient trees. He understood why the people there considered it a healing place. There was a spiritual energy that pervaded it. It prodded the mind and body to recognize it.
It also made him feel like something would happen that would nudge him to some important discovery about himself. There was a power there that still made the hairs on his neck and arms rise like it did when he did his sabbatical at the Temple of Bast. This was a kindred power. He searched within his soul for reassurance from Bast herself. She rested within him quietly letting him settle into the expectation. Ogum slumbered in a deep repose, unbothered by the place.
Ekuqaleni was tranquility and contentment. A needed retreat from the responsibility of holding up a nation that dominated the political landscape of the outside world. It gave his wife joy, and whatever Yani wanted he would give it to her in abundance with more trips together out in nature.
He wandered about on a sort of meditative walk that cleansed the slate for that day. The staff would bring them breakfast in bed in the morning per his directions. Perhaps by noon he and Yani would frolic in the bigger pool of water, or maybe take a dip in the tributary. Sunbathe. Sleep. Make love.
The children crossed his mind. He missed them dearly, but he had to admit, time away from them and being alone with his wife was a dream come true. No wonder his parents snuck away to their bedroom as many times as they did when he was a child. It was good to be in solitude with your beloved and not have to worry about your child for a few hours. His parents had one child, but he had three and more energy depletion because of it. He couldn't even imagine his parents handling two more of him growing up.
Two more of him.
The Chilza's story still poked around in his mind. The possibility of Riki and Joba fulfilling some long ago legend bothered him. Unlike his own later childhood, N'Jadaka wanted his children to grow up knowing nothing but peace and security. He would be the only one of his new lineage that would experience war and have to build up nations to defend their own lands. One day all three of his children would have to do the mandatory military service required of all citizens. He would raise them to become whatever they wanted and whichever one took over the throne, he would become their counsel.
The idea flitted in his mind about whether or not he wanted them to even take on ruling the nation. All Udakus had been raised to one day take the throne. What if Riki or Joba didn't want to? Sydette was legally his daughter in the eyes of the ruling class, so she would also be considered for the role. But he knew all of the tribes would challenge her at Warrior Falls. Legal daughter or not, the elites preferred direct bloodlines. He couldn't see Yani allowing their eldest to fight five challengers. Sweet Pea was a gentle spirit who detested all violence. She had survived mercenaries holding guns to her body and being shot at as a baby. It wasn't in her to inflict harm. Truthfully, he just didn't see his children choosing that life anyway. Sydette wanted to be a scientist. Riki a rock star. Joba wanted to learn new languages and study art.
A tickling in his gut compelled him to walk closer to the water.
His mother told him a child was coming that would shake up the world. Maybe the throne wasn't meant for his three oldest, but for the one that wasn't there yet. His mother had been adamant that he look out for that new one because they would be something different. N'Jadaka wasn't seeking to build empire. But maybe the next Udaku from him would.
He hurried back into the treehouse and collected three pieces of spicy plantains from the container Lungile gave him. Returning to the tributary, he knelt down in the soft, moist earth and offered the plantains to the water. They floated away toward the center and were swept downstream quickly. Still kneeling, he lifted his palms up and stared at the water.
"Mama Wati, I offer you a gift. My mind is troubled with thoughts about my children. I was a man who sought retribution in this land, but instead I gained my soul and my family back. Bast raised me and Ogum chose me, but I feel as if you have touched my life more times than I can count without even knowing it. In Brazil I knew you as Yemanjá. With my Nana Jean, she called you Cymbee. I see traces of you in my wife. Back where she is from, they call her the Black mermaid. By nature, I am not a humble man. I come from a father who was as large as a god in my eyes until he was taken from me. But now I am here…on my knees in your domain, asking for guidance…a sign that all will be well with my family. If there is a child coming who is going to build an empire, help me understand why this needs to be…if it needs to be. I have killed and spilled blood all over the earth. I don't want that life for my children. I beg of you, under the eyes of Bast, your mother, and Ogum who wields the iron of war in my blood…please. Don't let my children ever have to see the destruction that war brings again. I want them to become who I could've become if…"
N'Jadaka's night vision caught sight of the crocodile much too late to move. It rose to the surface, black eyes shining with icy concentration. He heard and sensed movement behind him. Turning his head slowly, he found S'Bu and Unathi flanking him. They sat on their haunches in a relaxed stance and not one of protecting him from the predator.
N'Jadaka regarded the giant crocodile coolly as it ambled its big body slowly from the water. He held his breath and kept the springing of his panther suit at the tip of his one immediate thought. His natural recoil reflexes were kept still and he waited to see what the croc would do.
Bast moved and the pressure of her presence sat at the top of his head. Ogum remained submerged in inactivity. This was a Wakandan matter not needing his input.
The crocodile settled its mammoth head in front of N'Jadaka's bent knees. This wasn't an ambush at all. The creature could've snapped the king's head into its giant maw, and that should've been unlikely from jump since their encampment was surrounded by security detectors. A powerful system in the water was also on alert to prevent them from sneaking onto land without people knowing. There was even a force field deterrent set up for crocs and water vipers that gave a slight shock to help them move away from that section of the river. The eyeshine in the crocs slit pupils reflected an unnatural iridescent glow that grew brighter. Mighty jaws snapped open and the croc lunged forward, its heavy snout-tip pushing weighted pressure against N'Jadaka's chest before it disintegrated into a splash of cold river water onto his chest, waist, and thighs.
He threw his hands up and gasped, startled by the frigid water soaking his robe through to the skin underneath. N'Jadaka touched his chest and the cool liquid evaporated. His robe and skin were as dry as when he first approached the edge of the tributary. He exhaled relief and his body felt light and airy. The intrusive thoughts about his children's future turned into warmth and serenity. In his mind, Mama Wati let her presence be known. Nana Jean once told him that alligators and crocodiles held spiritual meaning. They existed in two worlds, the physical and spiritual. The land was the physical world, and the water they submerged in was the spiritual one. He took on the experience as a message that he was a part of those two worlds and he would have to trust the greater wisdom of the gods to carry him through.
S'Bu nudged his head against N'Jadaka's shoulder. The king lifted his arm and scratched the back of the big cat's ears.
"You two were letting me know it was okay. I understand," he said.
N'Jadaka stood up and tilted his head back. He bathed his face in moonlight and said a prayer for his parents. And his beloved Nana Jean.
Breakfast in bed was so good, Yani ate seconds and refused to get out of it until it hit high noon.
She bathed and put on a bikini, joining N'Jadaka outside to sunbathe while reading. She held a physical book in her hand and stretched her left arm above her head indulging in doing nothing. N'Jadaka read a physical book right next to her on the lounger couch wearing tight trunks that might as well had been briefs. It did nothing to hide all that he held between his legs, his dick print and balls outlined visibly. She peeked at his face. He'd been pretty quiet for most of the afternoon. They'd chatted a lot during breakfast and once they were in their own little worlds reading, no words had passed between them for two hours.
Yani placed her book on her chest and sighed to get N'Jadaka's attention. He turned the page of his book and scratched at a scar on his chest.
"Should we call the kids?" Yani asked.
"No."
N'Jadaka kept reading, not even looking at her.
"We've been sending them vids and pictures, but we haven't spoken to them directly since we left. You think they miss us?"
"I'm sure they do, but think about it. There are a ton of little cousins still in the palace on holiday with our family. They're busy running around and having fun. Probably preoccupied with the wedding gifts we gave them too."
His eyes scanned the pages on the book, but Yani caught the glint in his eye the moment she mentioned them. There was a little twitch in his jawline too, like he'd been waiting to talk about his pride and joy.
"Three days is a long time not talking to them. Maybe just a quick chat up?" Yani said.
"We agreed to five days of no direct contact. For us."
Yani turned on her side, her fully baked skin two shades darker and smelling like sweet coconut oil.
"Just five minutes. Not a minute more. I want to see their faces."
N'Jadaka dropped his book near his side and stared at her.
"Didn't we talk about not coddling them too much? This was an opportunity to build up character and self-reliance. They have an entire staff, three nannies, great-grandparents, aunties, uncles, and cousins keeping them occupied. I don't want to be one of those helicopter parents," he said.
Yani chewed her lip and squinted when a ray of bright sunlight struck her eye when he adjusted his separate couch back support to a lower position. It unblocked the sun from his bulky frame. He glanced over at her and the pout on her face made him smirk.
"Five minutes," he said.
Yani clapped her hands and wiggled in her seat. He tapped his kimoyo beads for all three children. Riki answered first. The eyes that stared back at them with his floating image looked just like his father's when he was annoyed.
"Baba, what is it now? You keep calling us," Riki whined.
"What?" Yani yelped.
She smacked N'Jadaka's arm. Joba and Sydette's images popped up next to Riki's.
"How many times has your father called you guys?" Yani asked.
"Four times today," Sydette sighed out with an equally annoyed tone.
"Four times?" Yani said. "But I was here and I didn't see him call anyone."
They'd eaten breakfast. Swam in the river, showered, sunbathed, read their books, ate lunch and…
Yani's lip curled into a grin. She'd gone to the restroom four times that day. He'd called the kids when she was inside the treehouse.
N'Jadaka quirked his lips and shrugged his shoulders.
"All this backchat you were doin' man, and here you are calling them behind my back."
"Can we make this quick please, Mama? I'm in the middle of something with Zuko and Balwe, and if I don't pay attention, Zuko will move one of my game pieces," Riki said.
Yani looked them all over one by one. Happy, healthy, and whole. Her perfect trio.
"I miss you. It's been a long time since I spoke to you all."
"Three days isn't a long time, Mama," Joba said.
"To us it is. Neither one of us has been away from you all this long together. It feels uncomfortable sometimes," Yani said.
"But you're having fun, right?" Sydette asked.
"Yes Sweet Pea, we're having the best time—"
"Snack time everybody! Leave your toys and games where they are…what…what are you doing?" Umama said.
Their great-grandmother's face came into view.
"N'Jadaka, Yani…is everything okay?" Umama asked.
"We're fine, just checking in with the kids," N'Jadaka said.
"Again?" Umama said.
"I wanted to see their faces this time, Umama. Let them go have their snack."
"Okay, Mama, bye!" Riki said.
The call winked out.
"You sneaky cheater!" Yani said, pinching his arm. "Talking all that stoic shit and you're the one to break our pact."
"Okay, okay, I missed them a lot. They were on my mind all last night and part of today. Thinking about their future."
"Thinking about their future because of the story we heard last night?"
"Yeah. A part of me doesn't want them to carry the weight of the throne, and yet another part of me wants their legacy to be better than mine."
"You're going to be king for a very long time. We'll probably be great-grandparents before you even have to worry about succession."
"Even so, I can't be the Golden Jaguar forever. One of them may have to take the mantle while I'm still king."
Yani cradled his chin with her hand, the softness of his beard warmed by the sun.
"Listen to me. That's a long way away."
"I hear you. But you're right. It's nothing to worry about now."
He rolled over and placed his head on her stomach. She rubbed his head and untangled his locs on his back. Tension rested in his muscles. The future still rested on him. Yani hummed him a tune and stroked his forehead gently. The tautness in his muscles relaxed under her fingers.
Yani didn't like that he pondered too long on the children and their political future in Wakanda. They were finally a happy family unit and their children were living fruitful lives as normal children. At least as normal as royal children could be.
He needed something to get his mind off of politics and the march of time to come. She wanted to have fun with him and not waste their energy soothing fears.
"It's getting extra warm for me, I'm going to go cool off and rest indoors for a minute until the sun is behind the trees," she murmured in his ear.
"No, stay here. You've made me too comfortable. Don't leave now, it's not that hot."
"I'll be back. You can take this heat more than me right now. I want to fix my hair too, oil my scalp a little," she said.
He whined and pretended to throw a tantrum with his feet. She bent her head closer to his and kissed his forehead. Scooting off the couch, Yani headed for the treehouse and bee-lined to the bedroom where she rummaged through their belongings and pulled out a wig box. Inside was the red wig N'Jadaka loved. She shook the tresses and carried it into the restroom. Using a brush by the sink bowl, she smoothed the hair and fixed it on her head with a bit of hair sealant and a spritz of perfume on her body. She unfastened her bikini and pulled on a short silk bathing robe that rose above her thighs.
Staring at her face in the mirror, she added a little make-up and pink lip gloss. Debating about adding eyelashes, she eventually took the time to add some onto her top lid and made one final inspection of herself. Sexy, and she carried the aura of a different woman. That's what she wanted to be. Not the fretting mommy needing to check up on her kids. That woman could return when the children joined them in eleven days. She fixed the bit up lip gloss that ran over her lip line and decided to add one more detail before she left the treehouse. The bottle of lubricant on the open cupboard would help with what she needed to do.
After her preparations in the restroom, she returned to the outside where N'Jadaka rested with an arm over his eyes.
"Is this seat taken?" Yani said.
N'Jadaka lifted his arm and looked at her. The grin plastered on his lips thrilled her.
"My wife was planning to come back later," he said.
"Oh, well, I'll just find someplace else to sit."
"Nah, you can chill until she comes back. Long time no see, Toya."
Yani pushed back the hair on her shoulders.
"You don't mind if I sunbathe next you…nude, yeah?"
He patted the vacant seat next to his on the comfortable couch lounger. She took off the robe slowly and turned to place it on the end table next to the couch. Bending over further than she needed to, she allowed him to see the cherry-red anal plug heart she had inserted in the restroom. She crawled onto the couch knees first and settled in next to him, her toasted skin sparkly with mica chips from her coconut oil. He watched her recline and his gaze fell to her breasts.
"You sure this is okay?" she asked.
"Yeah."
Her right hand drifted to her vulva. Running her fingers gently around her clit, she kept her eyes on his face while he watched her hand play with her pussy. He reached over and played with her right breast, squeezing her nipple. They didn't speak. Yani dipped her fingers lower to open her labia. She made sure he saw that it glistened with her own arousal. The piercings they loved looked so pretty. Her inner labia fell open and the puffy engorgement made him groan. Yani stared at his swim trunks and the bulge there grew and stretched the material. She reached over and palmed it, feeling the girth inside harden under her touch. His fingers trailed down to her vulva and he bypassed her clit to finger her opening, her arousal making his digits sticky.
"Do you miss fucking me, kumkani?" she said, all breathy and low, as if she didn't want anyone else to hear them.
"Yesssss."
He moaned and slipped his trunks down, freeing his erection. The full mass of his dick had her sighing his royal title, exciting N'Jadaka more.
"Kumkani, I don't want to get you in trouble on your honeymoon. But I know you miss fucking me in the ass and stretching out my pussy."
She gripped his dick, squeezing it first to test how hard it was before sliding her hand up and down.
"I miss this big dick, kumkani. Let me make you happy."
"Shit…yes…keep squeezing it like that…"
He sat back and let her work her fingers around him. She nestled her index and thumb under the ridge of his tip and twisted it in tight half circles. It didn't take long for pre-cum to spill out. She stopped her movement to let him kick off his trunks all the way, and then continued pleasuring him. Her pussy was already acting up and the fullness of her anal plug hinted at the debauchery to come.
"Has your wife been good to you?"
N'Jadaka's lips were smooshed together; his focus lost on her hand getting slick from his pre-cum. His eyes became glassy and narrowed. She began to give his dick harder strokes up and down, loving the feel of her hand wetting up his shaft, making it sticky. Lowering her head, she darted the tip of her tongue in and out of his slit.
"Fuck!"
N'Jadaka's voiced carried over her head as it moved up and down, deep throating his dick. His right hand slid down her spine and around the curve of her ass to finger her pussy. He finger-fucked her, plowing his digits into her fast, wiggling them back and forth so he could hear how wet she was. She gasped when he spanked her hard. Rubbing on her backside, he moaned and thrust his hips up to shove his dick further into her throat. He pushed on her anal plug and fondled the shiny heart.
"Lemme stretch that pussy before my wife comes back," he whispered in her ear.
Yani obeyed, scrambling onto her knees and straddling his dick in reverse cowgirl. She wanted him to look at her anal plug in anticipation of stuffing his dick there in its place. Widening her thighs, she guided him inside her slippery entrance and the tightness in her ass doubled her pleasure with his dick stretching her out too.
"Kumkani, you feel so good in my tight little pussy," Yani huffed, meaning every word she said while looking over her shoulder at him.
N'Jadaka slapped her ass cheeks with a determined rhythm.
"Look at that ass…look at that big ass…tight pussy fucking me so good…grip that shit…yeah…grip it tighter…you a little grip monster on that thang girl…fuck…"
His words tumbled over each other and Yani bounced on his dick, flexing her back muscles to give him a view of the perfect arch.
"I missed your big dick, kumkani," Yani yelped.
"Ride that dick, baby…yes, ride it hard Toya…"
Yani twisted her hips from side to side so he could experience the pleasure of her cheeks bouncing as she moved. N'Jadaka kept smacking her ass and her backside grew hot and tingled with delicious pain. He rubbed both sides of her rump to give her skin a break from his slaps, but he continued again when she did slow winds all the way to the tip and back down. The slow motion dance on his dick had him shouting her name and cursing about how good it felt. Yani rose up again and leaned forward to let him watch her opening throb and grip the tip of his dick with syncopated squeezes that looked like sucking motions from her pussy. She practiced for weeks with her queen training on the erotic arts. Her instructor was a no-nonsense elder noblewoman who gave Yani silver balls of varying sizes to insert in her vagina and walk around with for hours using her pelvic floor muscles to grip them. Every time a ball fell out, she had to re-insert and try again or risk a scolding. Sex was a very serious matter in the royal lineage. Even N'Jadaka had to take lessons for his dick, tongue and fingers to please his new queen. Those tiresome lessons paid off as she made her man holler and grunt with pleasure. She gripped and released his tip in fast successive motions, twisting her body ever so slightly to change the angle. Her suction around the ridge was like the lure used to catch a big fish. Her husband gasped and clutched the cushion of the couch.
She dropped down on his length hard and used her walls to clench around the root of his dick while she fondled and squeezed his nutsack. He was literal putty in her hands only eliciting moans as she showed off her sex magic. Those queen lessons truly enhanced the natural gifts she already possessed, and helped her build up more stamina to handle the king. She did the ripple effect, using her walls to clench his dick in sections as she rose up and down slowly. Because he stretched her with his girth, N'Jadaka could watch her pussy lips kiss and pulse on every inch of his dick. She became more excited by the delicious feeling of fullness in her insides. His sounds of enjoyment rewarded her pussy with hot throbbing coming from his dick. Her perspiration increased from the furnace of his heavy body radiating so much heat.
The pressure of his dick tugging on her clit and the anal plug filling her up had Yani speaking in tongues. Her skin tingled all over and the heat from his blows to her ass cheeks created a perfect storm of pleasure for her that she couldn't hold onto anymore. Her pussy throbbed on a final thrust from him. A pulsing sensation raced up her spine and she trembled all over. Yani threw her head back and wailed out his name as her orgasm choked his dick and her own throat. Her voice echoed above the trees and shushed a few birds who had been chirping in the late afternoon sunlight.
When he couldn't take it anymore himself, N'Jadaka plucked the anal plug from her ass and pulled her down against him. Her back went into his chest and he spooned her for a few minutes, playing with her breasts and kissing her neck and shoulders before pushing his dick into her ass. She was ready for it, already keening and pulling her ass cheek to the side so he could watch his entry.
"Bitch I love it…I love when you let me fuck you in the ass…taking all this dick…"
His voice sounded bewildered and hungry for release. She gripped the cushion on the couch and held still, letting him pump wild thrusts into her.
"Just letting me fuck you like this…nasty little bitch…fucking the king's dick…I'm all up in there…fuck!"
"Your wife will be back soon," she said, urging him on to glory.
"Tryna rush me like I'm scared of being caught?"
"Aren't you, kumkani? The queen wouldn't be happy to see you fucking one of your secret women."
"I think she'd like watching me fuck you."
Yani gasped as he slowed down his thrusts and played with her breasts.
"I think her pussy would get wet watching this big ass dick stretching you…watching you cream all over me Toya…"
He stroked her clit, plucking at the piercing there. His breath warmed her earlobe and he nibbled on the outer shell of her ear.
"Or maybe you'd like to watch me fuck my wife like this. She takes dick so good in the ass."
"Yeah?"
Yani shuddered as her skin combusted with the fire of her lust listening to his words.
"My wife is the best. Before we were married…back when we were on an island together, she used to let me fuck her in the ass all the time. She has a nice big bubble. Niggas been after her for years and still want her. But she's mine and she lets me do anything I want to her. When I fuck her pussy, it weeps on my dick…"
Yani gasped. Listening to him talk about her in the third person was such a turn on. N'Jadaka had transformed into a trickster, changing the power dynamic of their encounter. She had come down from the treehouse to seduce and drive him crazy and he flipped it on her. He shifted their position, forcing her on her knees with her ass up and her head down. He kept a hand on the back of her neck and fucked her ass with slow hard thrusts. Each time he smacked against her rump, the slapping sound was loud and disrespectful to her ears.
"My wife is such a good girl. She knows to get on her knees without me asking so I can cum all over her pretty face. She'll lick up every drop of cum I give her. And she can take my dick so deep…lemme show you how I fuck her ass deep, Toya."
Yani began whimpering. The nerve endings in her ass were on high alert and her clit twitched.
"I took her to an opera in Zana and she let me fuck her ass right in the theater booth. She hiked her dress up and got on the floor and let me fuck her like that, even though there were nobles in the sections next to us. Feel it? Feel how I fucked her ass, Toya?"
"Yes!"
Yani cried out and she squirted on the couch. The sudden release heightened everything.
"I'm making you squirt, baby?"
The tone of his voice was so raspy that Yani's body squirted again, harder, making a complete mess on the couch.
"I'ma nut in you so deep. Let you have what my wife gets…yeah…feel all that? Your king is balls deep in that ass."
He pressed a hand on the arch of her back, and then gripped her hips with both hands.
"Taking it so good…that's a good girl…that's it…let your king fuck that ass…ooohhh….'bout to nut…fuck…here it comes…here it comes…shit…here it comes!"
He thrust hard once more and shot hot cum with curses flying from his mouth. Yani took it all and fell over in a satisfied lump when he finished. Her entire vulva throbbed and her clit still pulsed with anticipation.
He allowed her to rest a few minutes. She lifted from the couch and smoothed the hair on her wig. His dick was still hard.
"Come on," he said, lifting her up in his arms and cradling her against his chest.
"Where are we going?"
"Inside."
"But the queen…"
"She'll just have to deal with her man fucking his lover on their bed."
Yani held onto his neck tight. He bounded up the treehouse stairs and carried her into the bedroom.
"Wait here," he said.
She listened to him shuffle into the restroom and run water to clean his dick off. He returned and stroked his dick with fresh lubricant on it. Yani admired his body. He had always been a beautiful man. From the moment she first laid eyes on him, N'Jadaka was the finest chiseled specimen of man she had ever seen. The scars on his body actually enhanced his beauty and that man knew he was physical perfection just by the way he preened in front of her.
He lowered himself to the bedding and held her close to him.
"I will show you how I make love to her," he said.
He kissed her forehead with lips so soft that she forgot that he was her husband. The scent of his skin reminded her of honeysuckle blooming and she held onto his shoulders feeling safe in his arms. He rubbed his nose against hers making her smile.
"I love you," he said.
Yani pressed her lips against his and savored the softness. Oh how she fought to have this man! From the naysayers back home to the nobles who questioned her worthiness, Yani held onto her husband tight, feeling his heartbeat against her chest. Her tongue twisted around his and the joy in her heart thrummed throughout her body, raising the temperature on her skin and causing her pores to sweat even more. Their combined heat raised her arousal. He bit the side of her neck with those sharp slugs and Yani gasped, her eyes glued to the opening in the ceiling.
N'Jadaka penetrated her pussy with a quick motion in his hips and he marinated inside of her, keeping his kisses deep and wet inside her mouth. Her walls contracted when he pushed in further, accommodating him with intense slick heat.
He sucked in a breath when she squeezed around him tighter. His claw necklace dangled above her nose. She raised her legs up and held her thighs. N'Jadaka raised up on his hands and watched his dick go slowly in and out of her pussy. The focused concentration gave her joyful shivers. He loved looking at her body while he made love, and kept checking in with her by staring at her face. Swiveling his hips he slowed down his pumps and drops of sweat fell on her from his chest.
"Show me how much you love me," she begged.
N'Jadaka inhaled and then huffed out puffs of frantic air. The pussy clenching was getting to him. Yani absorbed the yearning he had to make her cum again while he stretched her out. Her clit was engorged and sat there fat and gorgeous like a precious jewel.
He was so big everywhere. His body. His dick. His personality. His legacy. His love.
Yani had shaped him and the world he conquered. No two people had ever wielded the power they did together all over the globe. His power over her body flowed out in hot waves across her tender skin. Her breasts bounced with his thrusts and his eyes darted down to watch. He loved every inch of her and she could see that clearly in those cunning brown eyes. She panted. He was too much. In the end of all their intimate encounters he was always too much. God, what a blessing.
He hit a spot inside of her that made her scream his name that became exaltations to heaven. N'Jadaka watched her face as she came on his dick and she felt him swell and spill inside of her. Looking down at their wet messy joining, his dick pulsed and so did his balls.
Yani let go of her thighs and let her orgasm cascade over any thoughts of anything outside of Ekuqaleni. All that mattered was them. Right there. Right now.
She gave herself permission to forget her children and the rest of the world.
N'Jadaka was all that she would live and breathe for in that moment. They were perfect and divine and meant to make love for a lifetime.
Tumblr media
Attendants carried away the last of Yani's personal belongings she used in Ekuqaleni.
N'Jadaka conferred with their Dora Milaje and she took a final walk past the treehouse and into the forest. Their houseboat was ready for the next part of their honeymoon and all that was left was to give instructions to their personal staff and notify the palace that they were leaving within the hour.
"Don't go far," N'Jadaka called out.
"I won't," she said, waving at him.
She wandered past the large mineral pool and headed over to the mini waterfall that fed into the stream that attracted the best butterflies because of all the lovely flowers that beckoned with their nectar. The long wrap-around cornflower-blue dress she wore brushed past her ankles and a gentle breeze blew across her face. The coolness from the canopy gave her skin a break from the sun as she rounded a bend in the stream to get one last look at the mini waterfall.
In her peripheral, she caught sight of something dark and low to the ground. She pretended not to see the panther cub until two others popped out on her side next to it, all three watching her walk along the damp path of forest floor dirt in her sandals. Above the canopy she could hear and feel the vibration of the Royal Talon Fighter leaving Ekuqaleni.
"I'm going to ignore you because you aren't real and you won't harm me," she said out loud, throwing her voice over her shoulder at the cubs.
There was no sense looking at them, they would only disappear after a few minutes anyway. Whatever magic or spirits that lived in the forest would stay there. Yani was leaving in thirty minutes.
"Where are you?" N'Jadaka asked.
His image floated above her wrist. She stopped walking to catch her breath.
"Not far. I wanted to see the little waterfall and maybe collect some flowers before we leave," she said.
"Do that, then head on back. I'll wait for you at the firepit," he said.
She tapped her beads and his image winked out. Bending down to pluck the best flowers, one of the cubs brushed against her leg. She yelped and jumped back, not expecting it to be real flesh and blood at all. It purred loudly and rubbed against her ankles, its cute little tail flicking with agitation.
Should she pick it up?
Yani glanced around. The other two cubs sat on their haunches watching her…and waited.
What harm could befall her if she bent down to test if it were a solid thing?
N'Jadaka waited for her. All she had to do was walk away and leave with happy memories. They weren't real, just a trick of the mind. She decided to forgo touching and spun around to head back to her husband.
The cub jumped in front of her path and rubbed himself back and forth against both of her ankles. She felt the warmth from its chunky body. It opened its mouth and gave a weak kittenish yawp, showing its tiny baby teeth. Too cute. It stared up at her with cute eyes and cute whiskers.
Yani bent down and the first cub ran in front of her, looking back to see if she still locked eyes on it. It gave that pitiful baby panther cry again and the two other cubs ran toward them and ran around her in a circle, rubbing their little warm bodies against her ankles too. They jumped away when she tried to pet them, and ran in front of her a few feet, looking back to check her stance. She walked forward when they ambled back to her, but the closer she got, they ran ahead of her again and stopped. Yani got the message.
They wanted her to follow them.
Running ahead of her in the opposite direction she needed to go, Yani had a decision to make once more. Go with them or stay?
N'Jadaka knew where she was. If she sensed danger, she could scream and tap her beads, and he would come to her rescue within seconds with his enhanced speed. She could follow them and if they led her to someplace sketchy, she would put up the force field that was embedded in her beads to protect her until her husband arrived. Ekuqaleni never showed her any harm or made her feel unsafe. Panthers were the Udaku's animal guides. If she left without seeing where they went, the curiosity would get the better of her and ruin her honeymoon. She tapped her beads.
"N'Jadaka, I see the panther cubs again," she whispered into the beads.
"Stay where you are, I'll be there in a minute."
"They rubbed against my legs. They seem real."
"Do not touch them," he said.
"Okay. I'll wait here."
It would take him at least fifteen minutes to walk there.
The cubs ran ahead of her again, much further this time. They still looked back at her to make sure she had eyes on them.
Wait.
Yani tapped her foot and glanced over her shoulder. N'Jadaka was taking too long coming to her. The cubs padded further south. She took a few steps forward to keep them in her eyesight as they passed through some low fronds off the path she had taken.
"Hurry N'Jadaka," she muttered under her breath, not wanting to cause the cubs to disappear before he arrived. Although he couldn't see them, he could sense them, and it would be better to have him go with her on a wild goose chase. Or a panther chase.
She couldn't see them ahead of her anymore and took a chance following. Nothing in her gut felt weird and she wasn't afraid.
She quickly caught up to them and they began to run. They weren't as fast as her and she lifted the hem of her dress to keep from tripping on it. The shade around her seemed to grow darker the further she went and she brushed away low hanging branches, vines and brush to keep up.
Ahead of her was a clearing and she caught sight of the cubs running as fast as their little legs could carry them. She started laughing, feeling the air on her skin rush by, and the wonderful physical sensation of her leg muscles stretching in a good sprint. To her right was a part of the tributary that led to the main river of the Ibukun, and that shocked her because it meant that she had run further than she thought. Twenty miles.
Yani took in her surroundings and checked her kimoyos. There was no way she should've been able to run that far in under fifteen seconds.
"Yani, where are you?" N'Jadaka's voice broke her reverie.
"I'm here!" she said, looking at his floating image.
It winked out and Yani stared at the three panther cubs still running ahead of her. Several yards ahead of them, next to the riverbank sat three serene-looking River Tribe women on a rug in a circle. They're eyes were closed tight as if in a deep meditation session and they stood up the moment Yani appeared. They all wore lavender headwraps twisted in the style of their people. Two wore sleeveless long purple and turquoise dresses and the other had short sleeves on her pale turquoise long dress. The purple rug under their feet was five feet in diameter with white swirling lines and white dots that looked like tiny stars. A lit candle floated inside a bowl filled with water at the bottom of the carpet. The flame flickered and Yani noticed that sky was the color of lilac and amethysts and that could only occur there at sunset.
"Wait…wait…this can't be. It's still morning," Yani said.
The panther cubs ran directly toward the women and before Yani could reach them, each cub ran through the bottom of each woman's dress and vanished.
"Are you real?" Yani asked.
The woman in the white dress smiled.
"Yes Queen Yani, we are very real," she said.
"Were those panther cubs…?"
The woman in the white dress stepped forward but kept her feet on the rug.
"Our apologies, kumkanikazi. I am Jabulile. That is Khanyisile, and she is Nolwazi. We had to get your attention without upsetting the king. He gave an edict that no one was to disturb you on your honeymoon, so we were unable to come to you directly. Using avatars allowed us to get close to you. We had hoped to catch you alone and draw you out here to meet us without the king becoming angry."
"Why do you need to see me?"
"The oracle requests an audience with you."
"Oracle? What oracle?"
"Nolwandle…the mother of oceans. She received an urgent message from the other side and Mama Wati has given permission to let it pass through her. You must go to Nolwandle as soon as possible. But the king must not know about this or else Bast will find out," Khanyisile said.
Yani took a step back.
"If you are afraid of Bast finding out, then are you trying to do something bad behind her back?"
Nolwazi clasped her hands together in a beseeching motion, "Kumkanikazi, the Grandmother of us all must not know about this because she does not like messages about the future reaching human ears. There is order in all divine things coming to pass, but if humans know things ahead of that time, they may disrupt the pattern she has set forth."
"I want my husband with me. I don't go anywhere alone without him by my side."
Jabulile nodded with understanding, but her eyes pleaded for Yani to heed their words.
"You must see Nolwandle, within three days. She can only be a vessel for the message that long, or else it will cause her great bodily harm and mental distress. Today will be her first day. It will be to your detriment to ignore her call. A message like this has traveled through souls to get to you, my dear queen."
Yani gestured toward the sky.
"You could be tricking me," Yani said.
All three women shook their heads.
"It would be a sin for us to trick anyone," Jabulile said, "We do not mean to frighten you, but I beg you Queen Yani. Heed our words daughter. Go to Mama Wati's statue at the mouth of Warrior Falls, past the great Manta Ray monument. Look at her face at the first light of the morning and it will show you the path to the Oracle. If you do not receive this message, the Udaku bloodline will come into jeopardy, and so will the fate of our country."
Jabulile held out her hand. Her words startled Yani and she reached out to the woman. Jabulile clasped Yani's hand and pulled her onto the beautiful rug.
"Oh God!" Yani cried out.
Her body felt like it was rushing through a powerful vortex of pure light and loud sounds that rattled her eardrums. After a few seconds she saw the figure of a dark-skinned woman sitting crossed-legged with a crackling fire in front of her. The woman's eyes rose from the flickering flames and stared right through Yani.
"Come daughter…Mama Wati protects you here…come Black mermaid…I have a message for you…come quickly…"
Yani's body whipped back at an angle and it felt like she was about to do a backflip or split in half trying to do so.
"Easy kumkanikazi, you are here with us again," Jabulile said, still holding Yani's hands.
Yani stumbled back off of the rug. The women stepped off of it too, and Jabulile rolled it up.
"Find your way to her…your bloodline is in danger if you don't," Jabulile said. "Go to Mama Wati's statue. Let her show you the way."
The women lowered their heads to Yani and walked toward a canoe waiting for them halfway out of the water. The tucked the rug inside and each woman climbed inside quietly with Jabulile in the center. The other two women paddled them downriver.
Yani watched them and caught her breath.
"Yani!"
Yani whipped her head around toward N'Jadaka's voice and it was morning once more. She checked her kimoyo beads. It was the same time as when she had first spotted the panther cubs. Glancing around, she was back at the mini waterfall with flowers still clasped in her fingers.
Her husband smiled and walked toward her.
"Ready to leave?" he said.
He held out his hand and she threaded her fingers with his, her body trembling.
"You okay, Yani?"
"It's just a little chillier in the shade. That rainy weather must be on the way," she said.
"Don't matter, we'll be snuggled up and floating in blissful waters."
Yani walked out of Ekuqaleni trying to figure out a way to go to Warrior Falls sooner without raising any suspicions in her husband. The weight of something extraordinary depended on her carrying it in secrecy. That was something she promised N'Jadaka she would never have with him. Secrets.
"Onward, " he said, and Yani stayed by his side.
