AUTHOR'S NOTE: I'M BACK but several months late 😭🙏. here's your request, @lilacspider. hope y'all enjoy <333

YOU DIDN'T exactly remember how you got in this position; with your eyes screaming anger, sadness, and regret all in one in front of your husband himself, Sirius Black.
You didn't get it, why would he do this? And you will never get it. What was the reason? Were you not enough? Aren't you both happy? Why did everything lead to this? There were so many questions floating in your head yet you preferred if they were left unanswered.
Tho, you quite vividly remembered how you watched your son going back to his playroom after giving you a letter he found somewhere inside the house. How Marlene drank all the remaining butterbeer, putting it down on the table with a loud clang.
How Marlene also started talking shit about Sirius. "Honestly, Black can fuck Merlin's Beard. He and his bloody dick can't control itself." How Dorcas kicked Marlene after hearing what she said. "What? I'm right tho. If he controlled his dick, Y/N wouldn't even be in this situation now."
Everything could ramble all over your fuzzy mind but you would never forget how you looked into a specific page of the Daily Prophet reading Sirius' name. BLACK'S AFFAIR BRINGS SHAME TO FAMILY LEGACY. It was written on the headline.
You couldn't bring yourself to read the whole article. It was heart-wrenching. What would become of your son if he was to know? That the whole wizarding world knew about his father's affair except for him.
But you couldn't bring yourself to tell him about it so here you are, confronting Sirius about it with angry tears from the all-for-nothing years that were wasted because of a single affair.
Letters burnt but a single is saved yet crumpled in between your tightly closed hands.
"Be careful with that one, love. He may have already left the Black household, but what runs through him will never leave. He will do what it takes to survive." That was what Dorcas said. Was what they all said. But did you believe it?
You heard rumors about him yet never once in your life have you doubted Sirius' faithfulness until now.
"Are you happy now? Do you feel proud of yourself?" You managed to crack out. "You got back at the legacy you've always been talking about. And now you have a broken family. Congratulations." Legacy. Such a word to risk something important for. But was it just something important?
Sirius didn't say anything. Maybe he was too ashamed to even say anything. He should be. Sirius opened his mouth to speak yet he didn't say anything. You noted how his jaw clenched and his eyes darting everywhere all at once refusing to look you back in the eye.
"You think you're so slick, don't you? Slithering around behind my back like some kind of serpent. You should've been with the Slytherins like your whole family. Tell me, Sirius, why did you do it?"
A scoff was the only sound that came from his mouth. Sirius set his eyes on you, courage slowly building up and that lump in his throat disappearing. "You were gone. I was alone and lonely." Was the only thing he said.
It didn't need you a minute or two to put things together. It's his dick. It always has been. "Was she worth it then? Trading our vows for your lack of companionship?"
"This isn't the first time, Y/N." Dorcas took a look at you and held your hand in an assuring way. "You've married an Icarus, he has flown too close to the sun." They must've been laughing at you already. Noting how dumb you could be, especially in the face of love.
"No! She was no one! She begged me." Sirius cried. He never cried like this so hard ever since he left the Black household for the better.
You laughed. It was stupid. Men and their ability to make stupid decisions with their dick. "Because you were alone? Do you even know why you're alone, Sirius? Because you refuse to come home and now you're pulling me that bloody excuse of loneliness like it was my fault when it wasn't!"
"But I still love you, Y/N!" He kneeled, wanting to grab your hand and beg to all of the Gods out there, Merlin, but most importantly, to you.
"No. I refuse to believe that. That became a lie ever since you were entangled with that woman." You felt tears building up in the corner of your eyes but you would never let it fall. Not when he could see and may use for his self-pleasure. "My—Cepheus, our son, was always coming to our bedroom asking when you'd be back." You emphasized. "You know what I always tell him? I tell him, "Daddy will come home, honey, once you're a good and big boy already!" and he must've already memorized it."
"I'm a big boy now, aren't I, mother?" Your 6-year-old son asked as he stood in front of a measuring tape for his height.
You've always been in front of your porch, waiting when Sirius would come home. "When was the last time he came home?" You remembered Lily asking that and how you stayed silent thinking carefully, when did he last come home? But you never knew the answer to that.
"Every time I look at you now, I see nothing but betrayal etched into your face. That must've been the reason why you never come home."
Maybe you should've burned the article moments ago so you didn't have to be in this position. Like how you burnt the letters he gave you. "Did your wax wings melt? Because I would never understand where you got the courage to do that and admit it like it was never your fault."
You turn from him and into the table where the newspaper lies. You turn to snatch it from there and show it to Sirius. You let out a chuckle, "It was ironic, honestly. You've always talked about legacy; legacy this, legacy that." You took a moment to compose yourself yet your eyes never left Sirius'. "Are you that blind Sirius? They aren't your legacy Sirius. Your legacy isn't your family who you turned your back on. Not Hogwarts. Not the Marauders. Not the Wizarding World. Not them but us. We are your legacy."
You've married the brightest star in the sky, he collided with another and everything exploded. "You've left scars on my heart that may never heal, all because you couldn't keep it in your pants."
You regained your posture and said, "By the break of dawn, I want every each one your clothes and things gone from this house."
"Mommy, is everything alright?" You heard a soft voice calling out to you. You turned to look at the door and saw how your son was holding onto the doorknob, peaking with his tired eyes that came from his sleep. Sirius stood up from the floor and turned away from Cepheus. "Dad?"
You passed Sirius and walked straight towards your son. "Baby?" You bent down to look at him and saw how he rubbed his eyes with a yawn. "Come on, let's go to bed. Daddy has things to do and he's in a hurry baby."
"He's always gone." Your son muttered, catching Sirius' attention. You both left the room and closed the door behind you.
"Did you and dad fight, mommy?" You only managed to smile.
Dear Y/N,
You're the person I want to spend my entire life with. You're the match in a world full of moths and it's drawing me to you. I chased you ever since first year and I don't plan on just walking towards you anytime soon. I want to run. Let's run till we can't anymore. I would watch the world burn, let the supernova engulf the Universe, and let everything fall apart in front of us as long as I'm with you.
I love you so much, my love. Words can't explain how much I love you to the Saturn and back. But maybe, I'm certain, every time I look at you, I fell a million times over.
Let's build a family. A new legacy of the Blacks. It'll be for us all; and maybe, just maybe we can show them what being a Black is really like.
With all love,
S. O. B.

I chased you ever since first year and I don't plan on just walking towards you anytime soon. I want to run. Let's run till we can't anymore. I would watch the world burn, let the supernova engulf the Universe, and let everything fall apart in front of us as long as I'm with you.
Let's build a family. A new legacy of the Blacks.
I love you so much, my love. Words can't explain how much I love you to the Saturn and back. But maybe, I'm certain, every time I look at you, I fell a million times over.
With all love,
S. O. B.

summary: after the news of Sirius cheating on you broke out to the whole wizarding world, you confronted him about it.
━━ ✦ pairing(s): husband! sirius black x wife! reader
━━ ✦ warning: cheating

AUTHOR'S NOTE: I'M BACK but several months late 😭🙏. here's your request, @lilacspider. hope y'all enjoy <333
Tumblr media
"Did you and dad fight, mommy?" You only managed to smile.

hey bestie, idk if this is where i submit requests BUT i was thinking and i had this idea where it’s a sirius black x reader fic, except it’s based off of “Burn” from Hamilton! idk like the angst is so appealing, and honestly you can have it play out like an argument kind of. like sirius would cheat and the reader is burning the love letters that he would maybe write her, something like that, or like an argument about how he cheated. yeah, that’s it! don’t feel obligated to do it 🫶🏽 anyways, i really love the fics you’ve written for him!!!
hi sisss, im sorry for the late reply since ive been off from tumblr but yeah ill make it. it will take a while and might be posted around 2nd - 3rd week of december!!! (or if i feel motivated to do it right now bcz i do 🏃‍♀️) ♥️♥️

AUTHOR'S NOTE: bcz my fave season of the year is coming, heres a remus story for you. if u aren't ginger do pretend so bcz its a evans reader 😭😭
Tumblr media
FIRST CHAPTER
AUTUMN ARRIVED WITH A FLOURISH. The trees that were once painted in the finest of green shades were now adorned in a symphony of russet and amber, their leaves gently fluttering to the ground like confetti at a celebration of the changing seasons. Sunlight filtered through the foliage, creating dappled patterns of warmth on the car's dashboard. The autumn's embrace grew even more enchanting as the month of welcoming it is almost passing, ready to welcome the month of October.
Everything around you seemed to remind yourself of a person you had spent your entire life with. A certain fiery red head twin with the name of Lily Evans, now Potter.
Your hair flows with the wind like a flower that wasn't tucked within your headscarf, you're wearing sunglasses to protect your eyes against the sunlight. The music blasted against the winding road playing "Take Me Home, Country Roads" from the radio and falling leaves that made their way into your roof-free convertible. The air that flowed through you carried the crisp fragrance of fallen leaves, mingling with the distant scent of wood smoke from cottages nestled amidst rolling hills reminding you of a certain scarred Gryffindor.
The nostalgia of this season always took you back to your days at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Memories of walking through the corridors with your friends, casting spells in the courtyard, and attending classes flooded your mind.
As you drove down the scenic, tree-lined road of 1985, You couldn't help but smile at the thought of everything. The adventures were etched in your heart, and even now, you could almost hear the mischievous laughter and witty banter that echoed through the pages of your memories.
Years had passed since you crossed paths with most of the people from your past, except for the Potter couple. The memories of that time had become distant, with only the Potter duo consistently present in your life. The last gathering you attended was Lily and James' wedding, where you stood as Maid of Honor. And the latest encounter you had with them was last July, when you popped by to deliver a birthday gift to your nephew, Harry, the birthday boy.
When you arrived to drop off Harry's present, your twin had already been waiting at their front porch. "You're not planning to stay?" Lily inquired, a slight frown creasing her features. She knew well that her younger twin sister wouldn't be partaking in the celebration for Harry's fifth birthday, unlike the others who were yet to arrive.
You chuckled softly as you scooped up the giggling 5-year-old Harry into your arms, playfully tickling his neck. "Sorry, dear sister, but I've got an artwork I need to finish before the looming deadline next week," You replied with a mischievous wink. "I promise, I'll make it up to Harry next year."
Lily shot her a skeptical look, her eyes narrowing. She wasn't convinced by the younger's nonchalant demeanor. "You've been saying that for the past four years, Y/N," she pointed out, her tone wary. "Don't tell me you're still clinging on to the past about Remus?"
Lily's suspicions hit closer to home than you were willing to admit, but for now, you played it off with a playful smile choosing to ignore what she said. "Well, Lilykins, I would've been hanging out with Harry today if you didn't deny my request to take him with me for a road trip."
"I can't leave Harry with you for the entire day," you gasped, taken aback by your twin's lack of faith in you. "You spoil him way too often, and don't get me started on how you're purposefully ignoring Remus!" Lily yelled, her index finger accusingly pointed at you, to which you responded with a dismissive scoff.
"Auntie Y/N, why are you not talking to Uncle Moony?" Harry inquired with a sweet voice, making you turn your grumpy noise into a nice smile 'cause it made you feel better. "Did you both have a fight?"
"Who's fighting who?" James emerged from the house and encountered a duo of redheaded twins. Lily, pointing an accusing finger at the you who's hip holding Harry, turned her attention to him and handed over your neatly wrapped gift for Harry. "Well, hello there, sister-in-law."
You couldn't help but roll your eyes. "Aren't you supposed to be at work?"
"Getting into another fight, Slythia?" James arched an eyebrow, wearing a mischievous grin as he playfully addressed you by the nickname he had given you based on your Hogwarts house.
"Well, Y/N here is still holding a torch for Remus," Lily remarked, gently coaxing Harry to let go of her embrace, but the little boy shook his head, clearly spoiled by his aunt's attention. "And aren't your arms getting tired from carrying Harry?"
"Seriously? A torch?" You asked Lily with her use of metaphors.
James burst into laughter at Lily's words about you and Remus being in the same sentence. "Really?"
"Of course not, it's been years since I last saw him and I have moved on." you replied, though your intention wasn't to be humorous, the married couple found it hilarious, sharing a laugh. "I'm serious!"
"No, you're not," James countered, grinning broadly. Damn, this joke never gets old.
Lily pointed out, "It's been years since you last saw him because you've been avoiding him," as she took Harry from her arms and set him down, causing the young boy to pout, prompting James to scoop him up instead.
Defending yourself, you retorted, "I do not!" However, when you looked around, you couldn't deny how tired your legs were becoming, so you straightened your back and glanced at your wristwatch. "Would you look at that, I'm running late. See you!"
Thinking back, are you still really — you shook your head about the thought and looked straight to the road. Not a chance. You let out a scoff, "Please — it's been years."
You look into the rear view mirror to take a look of yourself and back into the road but suddenly someone emerges from the trees and speeds towards the road. You immediately hit the breaks in shock causing your chest to hit the wheel with force narrowly avoiding a collision with the person. Your heart raced. "Bloody hell — ARE YOU TRYING TO GET YOURSELF KILLED?" You pushed your sleek sunglasses up and walked out of your car where the person was crouching holding a baby sloth. "Sir, you need to look at me." Your voice mixed with irritation and concern.
When the man looked up at you with slight widened eyes your breath hitched. "Y/N?"
"Remus?" Your irritation turned into shock at seeing your ex here in this situation. "What are you doing here? Why did you — I could've hit you!"
"I was traveling, and I saw the sloth—" Remus stumbled on his words as he still can't process seeing you here of all people. "Wait — How — What are you doing here?"
"Wasn't I the one who's asking you that?" Your voice carried a mix of relief and concern.
Remus, still clutching a sloth in his arms, looked shaken but managed a weak smile. "I suppose you're right," he replied, his voice a tad shaky. He carefully placed the sloth on the grassy roadside.
You quickly parked your car, your concern growing. "Nevermind," you said, shaking off the earlier irritation. "Are you alright?" You extended a hand to help him up, realizing he must have sprained something during his heroic rescue of the sloth.
Remus winced as he tried to stand, clearly favoring one leg. "I think I might have sprained my ankle," he admitted, trying to put weight on it but wincing in pain.
With a concerned frown, you gently supported him and helped him stand, careful not to put too much pressure on his injured ankle. "Let's get you back to my car," you suggested. "There's a store not so far from here, I think I can temporarily take care of that."
And you carefully guided him back to your car, "You're a witch, Y/N." Remus reminded but you shook your head.
"I'm not a healer, Lupin, unless you know a healing spell for that." Suddenly, you felt like you were being hit by a stray rock. "Oh right. Ferula." You conjured the bandaging charm, wrapping them around his ankle.
Remus nodded, appreciative of your help. "Thank you," he said, his voice tinged with gratitude. "And thanks for not hitting that sloth. They're not exactly the fastest creatures."
"How could I not stop when you darted out from the forest, trying to take that hit instead?" You shook your head in disbelief at his recklessness. Despite your astonishment, you gently tucked him into the car seat and made sure he was securely fastened by the seat belt. You closed the door and walked to your side of the car and shut it too before starting your car again.
"I can do that, you know?" Remus stated about how you secured him with a seat belt.
You nodded. "I know." You gave him a quick glance, and started to maneuvering the wheel. "So, where are you off too?"

author's note: lets just pretend they have a high tolerance or theyre a lil affected by it cuz i forgot to write it down there 😭. btw sirius and reggie r on good terms here and also — ITS DANE DEEHAN'S PETER AND I CANNOT NOT ADD HIM WHEN HE'S HOT 😭😭😭😭
Tumblr media
THE MARAUDERS, a few other friends, and you gathered in the common room, forming a circle for a muggle game Lily called "Never Have I Ever." The concept piqued your interest; it was something entirely new to you and sounded like you would have a good time especially when you heard how the game works.
But before that you, Sirius, Peter, and Lily went to the kitchens to take some snacks, glasses, and a few bottles of firewhisky for this and went back to the common room where the others were waiting and circled.
Lily initiated the round, her eyes scanning each person in the circle. "Never have I ever," she began, a mischievous glint in her eyes, "tasted the poop flavor in Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans." Laughter erupted as James, Remus, and a few others reached for the firewhisky and took a drink. Sirius and you couldn't help but burst into laughter too, sympathizing with their unfortunate experiences.
"It was bloody awful! Feels like I was gobbling up Pads' poop by mistake." James wrinkled his nose, wincing as the firewhisky blazed its way down his throat. Sirius burst into laughter, but his chuckles abruptly halted as James' comment hit his ears and you choked on your saliva. With a flushed face, Sirius playfully smacked James on the back, eliciting a groan from him. "Fuck."
The empty glasses clinked as they were refilled, the game continuing with fervor. Seated next to Lily, Marlene was thinking of what to ask. "Never have I ever lost my chocolate frog and found it in front of a teacher." Peter drank his firewhisky.
"I remember this!" You exclaimed with a chuckle, clutching a treacle tart. "Peter lost his chocolate frog while going inside the castle from Hogsmeade and tried to go after it only for it to end up in Professor McGonagall's palms. Then, she gave it to Peter and Peter ate it after brushing the dirt away."
Remus took his turn, a playful glint in his eyes. "Never have I ever been caught by Filch while out of bed after curfew." The Marauders, excluding Remus and including you, raised their glasses to their lips, taking hearty swigs of firewhisky.
Lily's eyebrows arched curiously, her gaze shifting toward you. "Even you, Y/N?" You shrugged with a sheepish grin, caught in the act. "What were you up to?"
You intended to avoid the question, but Marlene piped up, unable to resist the urge to share, "Oh, it's either she's setting up pranks with them," She gestured towards the infamous Black and Potter duo, who responded with knowing smirks, "Or she's engaged in some secret snogging rendezvous with Black."
"Which Black are we talking about here?" You countered mischievously, casting an amused glance at both brothers.
"Both," Marlene replied with an air of nonchalance, earning a round of chuckles from the group, a coughing Regulus, and a shock i-don't-know-what-to-say-i-feel-betrayed Sirius.
The blonde female had frequently stumbled upon them in rather compromising situations. On various occasions, it happened to be you and Regulus emerging from a cupboard, catching Marlene on her way to class. The sight of you and the younger boy with tousled hair, swollen lips, and flushed cheeks was hard to miss. Marlene also vividly remembered the time she stumbled upon you and Sirius, who were well on their way to shagging, both only partially clothed and entangled on the bed. Fortunately — for Marlene's case — she barged in before all the rest of their garments were thrown on the floor and preventing further embarrassment.
Honestly, who could really blame her? It wasn't her decision to conduct such activities within a shared dorm room, where other roommates also resided.
Marlene's cheeks heated as memories replayed in her mind. She shook her head, murmuring, "It's a traumatic experience."
Seated between you and Remus, Sirius wore a knowing smirk, mischief glinting in his eyes. Your heart fluttered as you felt a tinge of nervousness, his transparent mischievousness making you uneasy. "Never…" He began, his words causing a slight stumble in your breath as he continued, "have I ever kissed Y/N." Once more, you found yourself momentarily taken aback, a surprised reaction escaping you.
Sirius' gaze swept across the group, his smirk growing as he met each person's eyes, enjoying their reactions. With a feeling of delightfulness, he snatched the bottle of firewhisky and took a victorious swig. Nearby, Regulus raised an eyebrow, his amusement detached yet evident, as he took a casual sip of his own firewhisky. "Just u—" He began, his sentence left hanging in the air, a smirk curving his lips.
Lily roll her eyes and playfully retort, "Trying to embarrass everyone now, are we? Well, I can't say I'm surprised. Cheers to your boldness, I suppose." She then took a sip of her firewhisky, shaking her head with a mix of amusement and annoyance at Sirius' antics.
"Wait a second — everyone?" Sirius exclaimed, his tone a mix of disbelief and amusement. Marlene couldn't contain herself and erupted into laughter, finding the situation utterly comical. With a gleeful grin, she grabbed the firewhisky and took a big gulp. "Even McKinnon? Seriously, Y/N, how did you do it?" Sirius continued, his smirk growing wider.
Observing the scene, Remus couldn't help but roll his eyes playfully, his expression a blend of exasperation and fondness. He reached for his firewhisky and took a measured sip, his gaze briefly locking with yours.
You nonchalantly replied. "She was asking me to teach her how to kiss — who am I to refuse?" Peter let out a nervous chuckle and take a small sip of firewhisky.
As Sirius noticed the sip Peter took, his eyebrows arched mischievously. He glanced at you and exchanged an amused look with Lily. Lily, her curiosity piqued, raised an eyebrow and inquired, "Even Peter?" Her surprise was evident, the corners of her lips twitching in a mixture of astonishment and amusement.
All eyes turned to James, who met their gaze with an intrigued quirk of his eyebrow. His gaze then shifted to you, his lips curling into a mischievous grin as he leaned back in his chair. "Looks like I've fallen a bit behind, haven't I?" he mused, a glint of determination lighting up his eyes.
In a flash, he rose from his seat, a confident swagger in his step as he dropped down to one knee in front of you. His presence felt magnetic as he leaned closer, his hand gently cupping your cheek, and before you could fully process the moment, his lips met yours in a quick, playful kiss.
The room was filled with a collective gasp as all eyes turned to both of you as James pulled back, a triumphant smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth. James then took the bottle of firewhisky from Sirius and chugged the remaining liquid down.
A mixture of shock, amusement, and admiration swept across their faces. Lily's jaw dropped slightly and twitching into an amused smile. Remus's eyebrows shot up, his usual composed demeanor momentarily replaced by astonishment. Sirius's playful grin widened into genuine surprise, and even Peter seemed momentarily stunned, his mouth hanging open. Marlene let out an excited whoop, her surprise quickly turning into enthusiastic cheers. Regulus raised an eyebrow, a subtle flicker of being taken aback swept across his features.
James' smirk softened into a warm grin as he glanced at you, his eyes locking onto yours for a heartbeat before he turned back to the others. "Honestly, Prongs." You stated recovering from your surprised state with a fond smile tugging on your lips.
A mischievous glint danced in Marlene's eyes as she playfully nudged Sirius with her elbow. "Seems like you're not the only one stealing the show tonight, Black."
A warm chuckle rumbled from Remus as he shook his head, a genuine fondness reflecting in his gaze. "You've outdone yourself, Prongs."
Even Regulus's typically stoic expression softened, a subtle twitch at the corner of his mouth betraying his amusement. "Quite the move," he conceded.

SIRIUS HAVE JUST TURNED 17 and the day was proving to be an absolute delight. Well-wishers and presents rained down upon him from all corners, like a cascade of joy. It was as if he had become the focal point of a grand celebration, with people lavishing attention upon him as though he were the glass and they the milk. Meanwhile, the Marauders – except for Sirius himself – had orchestrated a meticulously planned party, inviting a covert mix of students from other houses who agreed to come in secrecy.
Sirius was oblivious to the whole thing as he was busy being an attention whore more than usual, but it's already normal ain't it? It's in his nature after all.
Following dinner, the Gryffindors made a beeline for their common room, giving the attendees from other houses ample time to slip in without arousing suspicion. After all, who would want to face detention while suffering a potential hangover the next day?
From the corner of your eye, you caught sight of Sirius engrossed in conversation with a couple of Ravenclaws. Their hushed tones and sly gestures raised your suspicions, and before you knew it, your protective instincts kicked in.
"Sirius, come on!" You didn't mince words as you yanked him away from the Ravenclaws, brushing off their icy glares that were drilling into your back. Who did they think they were, talking to my best friend like that?
"Oi, wait up, Y/N! I've got a whole heap of presents here," Sirius grumbled, his attention torn between you and the pile of gifts he was carrying. He didn't seem to mind being pulled away from the Ravenclaws, but the promise of presents was enough to make him lament the interruption.
"Argyllshire," you announced, and with the password given, the Fat Lady's portrait swung open, granting them access to the common room. But just as you were about to step through, you halted, prompting Sirius to look back at you with a quizzical expression. Releasing his hand, you moved behind him, causing him to blink in surprise before a smile began to play on his lips, a glimmer of understanding dawning in his eyes.
With Sirius blindfolded by your gentle touch, you guided him further into the room, his trust in you evident as he allowed himself to be led. The anticipation in the air was palpable as you both came to a halt, your hands finally leaving his eyes.
As the blindfold fell away, Sirius blinked, taking in the sight before him. His arms instinctively loosened, causing the gifts he was holding to tumble to the ground in a haphazard heap. His gaze roamed the transformed common room, a wide grin spreading across his face as he spotted his three friends, each wearing expressions of excitement and mischief.
Peter stood before him, a cake adorned with 17 unlit candles held carefully in his hands. Remus and James flanked him, their eyes gleaming with shared joy and camaraderie. The room was adorned with banners, streamers, and twinkling lights, creating an atmosphere of celebration and warmth.
Sirius turned to you, his eyes reflecting a mixture of surprise, gratitude, and affection. "Blimey, so this is what you lot've been cookin' up, eh?" he began, his voice catching slightly as he looked back at his friends before returning his gaze to you, "Honestly, had me shocked when I didn't spot Wormy in the Great Hall earlier."
"Trust me, we went beyond mere persuasion to convince Peter to pass up dinner just for this." Remus started with a soft smile.
He stepped forward, his arms enveloping you in a tight hug. "Thank you," he whispered, his breath warm against your ear. As he pulled back, his gaze met yours, and in that shared moment, you both knew that this was more than just a celebration of his birthday – it was a celebration of the deep bond you all shared, a bond that had carried you through both challenges and triumphs, and had brought you to this very moment of shared joy and connection.
As you stepped back, your attention shifted to James, who was struggling to ignite the cake's candles with a series of unsuccessful matches. Peter held the cake steady, a look of cautious concern on his face.
James struck the match with a determined force, creating a brief flare before attempting to touch the candle's wick. Yet, much to his chagrin, the flame fizzled out, leaving James in a state of mild exasperation. "Merlin's beard, Prongs! Hurry it up! We've got sixteen — well, all the candles left to light!"
"Seriously, mate, who thought it was a brilliant plan to have 17 candles anyway?"
Remus let out a soft sigh before coming to James' rescue, his wand directed at the cake. A quick incantation, "Incendio," and all the candles were ablaze. Remus shot James a knowing look, earning a sheepish grin from him.
Before James could say anything, you interjected with a playful tone. "Alright, everyone, it's time to sing Sirius with his birthday anthem." Your announcement caught Sirius off guard, his eyes widening at the unexpected attention. "You've got two choices, mate – sing along or say goodbye to your cake."
For the next three minutes, the room was filled with your collective voices as you sang the familiar melody of "Happy Birthday." Sirius soaked up the moment, a mix of giddiness and mild apprehension evident on his face as the candle wax started to trickle onto the cake.
"Hurry it up, will you?" Sirius urged, his anticipation growing.
As the final notes of the song were sung, Sirius directed his attention to you and beamed with delight, his lips pursing before a triumphant gust of air extinguished the dancing flames atop the cake. The room erupted in cheers and applause, marking the successful conclusion of the candle-lighting ceremony and the beginning of Sirius' birthday celebration.
"Listen up, all you fourth years and below! If you're not keen on being propelled up the stairs, it's probably wise to retreat to your dorms," you announced, met with a chorus of groans from the younger students who reluctantly complied. "Take foods tho if you're still hungry!"
In your efforts to ensure the safety of everyone and maintain their innocence – at least for as long as possible – you established a strict age limit for the party because you knew how wild the boys would become. Only those who were fifth years and above were allowed to join the festivities. Anyone below that cutoff risked being unceremoniously ushered back towards the dormitories, either the girls' or boys' side, should they dare to venture into the common room.
Sirius was about to make his way over to you, but a flock of girls swooped in, bombarding him with birthday kisses, temporarily obscuring his view of you. You rolled your eyes at the predictable spectacle and turned to Remus. "Be right back, Moony." Remus simply nodded in understanding as you made your way to your shared room with Lily and the others, finding it currently vacant and allowing you a brief respite from the commotion.
You took out your pack of cigarettes and lighter and went to sit next to the window and opened it. You placed the stick in between your lips and lit it up. You puffed out the smoke as you stared up at the night sky feeling relaxed, the cold evening wind brushing against your skin. You spotted the star Sirius was named after, twinkling as it should be.
You let out a chuckle, the tip of the cigarette was currently being bitten by you. Everywhere you go, he's always there. "You're always here." You pointed at the star in the sky making your thoughts go back to the events that happened today. How every girl except for your friends were flirting with him and clinging to him like a leech.
Are you jealous? Of course you are! But who are you to say that out loud? After all, you're just the bestfriend of the infamous flirty prankster of Hogwarts, Sirius Black, with your childish one sided crush on him.
Feeling like an eternity had passed, the door swung open, revealing Mary Macdonald with her gentle smile as her eyes landed on you by the window, cigarette in hand. "Hey there," she greeted warmly, making her way to her bed. You responded with a smile of your own. "What's got you secluded up here? Missing out on the downstairs fun?"
"Could say the same for you."
Mary chuckled softly and shifted her attention to her bedside table. "I'm tired. How about you? Tired of feeling like what you're seeing was a sight for sore eyes?" She laughed at her own wry remark, and you found her laughter contagious, letting out a soft chuckle in response.
Pushing away from the window, you extinguished your cigarette on the ground and crushed it underfoot. "Well I'm off and you take your rest."
Descending into the common room, a whirlwind of revelry greeted your senses. The air pulsed with music that seemed to defy classification, bodies swayed and voices melded in harmonious chaos. Couples found solace in corners, lost in passionate embraces, while the sweet melody of laughter intermingled with the clinking of glasses.
And then, there he was. Sirius Black, swaying and twirling with reckless abandon to the rhythm. A lopsided grin graced your lips as you watched him, a bottle of firewhisky clutched carelessly in one hand.
Your surprise escaped your lips in a gasp as you took in the sight before you. "Merlin's beard, Sirius! I step away for a moment and you're already drunk?" Your voice struggled to compete with the booming music, yet you couldn't help but be amused by his spirited display.
Amidst the lively chaos, your call reached his ears, prompting Sirius to turn towards you, his eyes alight with mischief and inebriation. He continued to dance, his movements more exuberant than ever, as if the music was a siren song he couldn't resist.
He responded with a wild laugh, taking a triumphant swig from the bottle in his hand. "It's my bloody birthday!" he exclaimed, his words carrying a mix of jubilation and defiance.
You couldn't help but roll your eyes, a fond exasperation coursing through you. "Of course it is," you muttered, though a small smile betrayed your teasing facade. His infectious energy was hard to resist, even if it was fueled by copious amounts of firewhisky. You sighed, internally grateful that Remus decided to cast a silencing charm in the common room so people outside the common room wouldn't hear what they're up to and the students up at their dorms wouldn't be bothered.
"Hey, Y/N! Where've you been?" Lily Evans appeared by your side, holding two plastic cups. You nodded appreciatively, taking one as she suggested.
You sipped the drink, a fiery explosion in your mouth leaving you momentarily speechless. "Upstairs," you managed to say, your voice a little louder than intended, competing with the music. Lily nodded, her grin unwavering as she danced energetically.
Glancing around, you realized your friends were nowhere in sight. You turned back to Lily, leaning in closer to be heard over the music. "Where are the others?" Lily leaned closer too, struggling to hear. "Where are the others?'
"Mary's resting in the dorm, Marlene and Dorcas are probably off snogging somewhere," she shouted back. You nodded, downing the rest of your firewhisky-laden cup.
Hours passed, and the clock struck midnight. Most of the partygoers had headed back to their dorms, but Sirius Black and a small group were still going strong, dancing to the new song that had started.
You distributed hangover vials to those preparing to leave, aware that classes were still scheduled for tomorrow knowing it's just Wednesday.
Sirius, fueled by the alcohol, dragged Peter onto the dance floor, the exhausted Peter reluctantly going along with it. Catching your gaze from the couch, Sirius abandoned Peter mid-dance, resulting in a loud thud and Peter groaning in pain as he collapsed.
Sirius swaggered over to you, a lopsided grin on his face. "Hey there, Y/N! How 'bout a little dance?" Ignoring your protests, he seized your hand, his determination evident. With a playful wink and a mischievous gleam in his eyes, he hauled you to your feet, determined to have you join him on the dance floor.
Getting in the swing
You come to look for a king
Amused by his attempts to get you to dance to the music, you chuckled and quipped, "Sirius, you know I'm not much of a dancer!"
Anybody could be that guy
Night is young and the music's high
"Rubbish! Anyone can cut a rug — they just haven't got the knack yet." Sirius exclaimed. You didn't say anything and just looked at him as he tried to lead you to dance along the music with him. "Blimey, listen 'ere! Don't you worry 'bout a thing. Dancing's like, well, easy as pie! Anyone can do it, they're just a bit slow on the uptake," Sirius declared with an exaggerated sway, his grin widening.
He grabbed your hands and pulled you into a clumsy two-step, his movements a mix of enthusiasm and drunken carelessness. "See? Just follow my lead, and you'll be twirlin' like a pro in no time!"
You watched his antics with a bemused expression, trying your best to keep up with his unpredictable dance moves. Sirius caught your gaze, his eyes sparkling with mischief, but he quickly averted his eyes, a nervous chuckle escaping his lips.
He continued to lead you in a rather haphazard dance, his steps occasionally stumbling, but his energy was infectious, and a laugh escaped your lips despite yourself. You noticed him stealing glances in your direction, his cheeks tinted with a rosy hue. It was clear that his liquid courage was giving him the confidence to show a side of himself he might not have revealed otherwise.
As the music swirled around you both, you found yourself getting lost in the absurdity of the moment. Despite his attempts to act nonchalant, there was an undeniable tension in the air, an unspoken acknowledgment of the underlying feelings that both of you were trying to suppress.
Sirius, perhaps sensing the intensity of the situation, abruptly spun you around before pulling you back into a clumsy embrace. "See? I knew you had it in you!" he exclaimed, his words slurred and his grin lopsided.
You couldn't help but chuckle at his antics, the awkward dance moves only adding to the charm of the evening. And while he may have been trying to avoid looking into your eyes for too long, the genuine joy on his face was a clear indicator that his feelings were far from being hidden.
Young and sweet
Only seventeen
Dancing queen
"Happy Birthday, love." you muttered to him that he didn't catched. He leaned in, asking you to say it once more. With a playful grin, you raised your voice, "Happy Birthday!" The sudden exclamation made him wince, clearly not expecting the volume.
Not that, the one that you just called me… "Oi, not so bloody loud!" He hollered in response. You chuckled at him, your mirth dancing in his drunken gaze. "Hiccup... Y'know, you're somethin' special," he slurred, a lopsided grin plastered on his face. You stayed quiet, gracing him with a proper smile, still trying to sway to the tune telling yourself it's nothing as being a flirt had always been his nature. "Nah, scratch that, you're like — Merlin's beard, I like you!"
Thinking you hadn't heard him, he continued to dance as your smile faltered and you stopped dancing just looking at Sirius who's dancing the night away. You decided to retreat to the couch, needing a moment to collect your thoughts. The soft cushion welcomed you as you sat down, your heart still racing from the confession and the dance. It's nothing Y/N he's drunk, he doesn't know what he's saying.
Yet your other side would like to argue, No you bloody wanker! Drunk words are sober thoughts people can't put into words! You watched as Sirius twirled and swayed, his uninhibited dance reflecting the freedom of the night.
Lost in your thoughts, you remembered all the moments leading up to this one – the stolen glances, the inside jokes, the countless hours spent talking about everything and nothing. It was as if the universe had conspired to bring you to this precise moment, where confessions of the heart felt both natural and inevitable.
Sirius, still caught up in the dance, finally noticed your absence and made his way over to where you were seated. With a playful grin, he plopped down beside you, his breath slightly labored from the dancing.
"Why'd you stop, love? The night's still young," he teased, his voice a velvety whisper that sent shivers down your spine. You couldn't help but smile back, his nickname for you sending your heart a flutter.
"It's almost 1 in the morning, Sirius." Sirius didn't reply instead he just laughed, as if what you said was a joke. "Is it true?" Words slipped out from your mouth, which piqued Sirius' interest. The music quiets down for some reason. You felt your pulse quicken, your palms slightly clammy with nervous anticipation. "Is it true — what you said? You like me?"
He once again let out a hearty laugh, "Must be. Blame it on the firewhiskey," he quipped, a mischievous twinkle in his eyes.
It was your turn to laugh, "You know, I'd tell you I love you but you're too drunk to remember tomorrow."
His grin widened mischievously as he feigned ignorance, prompting you to say it once more. "Oi, what did you say?" he quipped in a playful tone, a glint of amusement in his eyes.
You sighed, Sirius might be drunk but he still has his playful demeanor in him. "I said I like you, you bloody wanker!"
As if he heard you more clearly now, he raised his eyebrows at you with a faint smirk playing at the corner of his lips. "Is that so?"
You shrugged, standing up walking towards the stairs. "Yeah."
"Oi, where d'you think you're off to?" Sirius called out, his steps wobbly as he rose from his seat, determined to follow you.
"Upstairs. I'm tired." Reaching the 10th step in the staircase, it suddenly turned into a slide knowing Sirius stepped his foot in it. You slid down, flopping yourself at Sirius back with a groan as you rolled over. "I told you I'm tired…"
Sirius instead, just shot you a grin and took his hand as if he himself wasn't the drunk one. "Sleep with me in the boys bedroom."
