I chuckle every time someone mentions that he is a good dancer. Bro, where?.. maybe Jimin spoiled me too much with his dancing and performing idk, but whatever tf jk does looks... unsettling to say the best. He's too stiff and awkward. He acts cocky (a bit too cocky) and he lacks confidence and musicality to be a good performer. He painfully lacks stage presence and aura that are needed for a performer. Too unnatural while trying to be 'cool' but too awkward and pathetic while trying to be 'natural'.

You see, when Jimin performs you can feel with your whole body and soul that he adores it, that he adores dancing and acting and bringing into life his concepts and ideas. You can literally see that he gives his all and he has this natural ability and talent to connect with his audience, to lure them. He doesn't let anyone get their eyes off of him. You can't help but follow every his move, voice, facial expressions and antics. He shines, sometimes so bright that I have to sit for 5 to 10 minutes in a silence and think about it. He has this unexplainable aura that is just so hypnotizing and you can't stop looking at him. And he's very, very natural. Not cocky, but flirty, luring, playful, graceful, strong and sharp when needed and gentle and flowy when the stage requires it. He's everything and a bit more. He literally can be whatever you and he wants to be. A chameleon. He literally lives FOR and ON stage. He's just born and crafted for this. He opens his soul and heart for others.

Tae knows that he lacks both in dancing and vocals so he tries to perform with his face. And let me tell you sometimes he tend to be quite charismatic. Well, ig when you only have your face and is a whole ass dozen in other fields but you also live for attention you don't have a choice but perform with your face.

Hobi is quite a good performer too. He acts cocky just like jk but in his case it looks natural. Plus, he's a cool dancer and you can feel that he loves it. He lacks awkwardness.

NJ is no comments. He tries to be sexy (and well, sometimes he succeeds but you didn't hear it from me...) but otherwise he lacks in everything. But he does nice rapping in ddaeng tho. His performing style is 'too cool for you, much better than you'. Idk

Jin is no comments, too. He's just not made for stage and performing. He has nice ballads and they fit him. Honestly, he better stick to singing them (Koreans love his songs, I noticed), just without any movement. Stay or sit there and sing and showcase your face. That's all he needs and he's gonna be fine.

Yg is too much of a 13 yo 'edgy' 'cool' 'better than thou' 'hurt' boy. He performs the same. Sometimes it works but otherwise he's just meh.

Jk again. Well, I already said earlier that he's awkward. He tends to have stable vocals but otherwise he's just kinda there, other vocalists voices, especially, Jimin's, outshine him. Again, idk how he even got to stage performing cuz all I see is a hunk mediocre fratboy who specializes in athetics trying to be an artist. I was an army for quite a long time and bingewatched their performances and let me tell you the only one I remember of his is 'bad boy' cover of Rain and that walk in white suit (notice how these are solo... his only way to standout). He has become much more worse since 2020. I cringed so hard at his my time performing and i was an army then mind you. Like, just downright bad. Especially, his dancing. I'm 🤏 close to start calling him a dozen, man. He tries to be cool and sexy but turns out to look childish and vulgar. Just very unsettling.

Anyways, now I have to go and binge watch Jimin's performances again cuz I missed this mf and his perfect button nosie and pretty eyes and sweet voice. When will this jimin-drought-misery end I just wanna know he's happy and lives his best life

Lol that was so harsh but I kinda agree with you.

You're right taehyung compensates the bad dancing with his expressions but sometimes his expressions look cringe too. But most of the time he does okay. Whenever someone says that tae should be in the dance line I just feel like slamming my head against the wall lol.

I always thought that jin should be an ost singer. Dancing or even the stage presence is not his strongest suit.

Hobi is an amazing dancer skill wise. And he has a good stage presence. I mean he killed it in Lollapalooza. But during group songs, he usually doesn't get my attention that much on stage. Maybe I'm just biased cause I can only watch jimin.

I think jungkook is a good performer. And his dancing is not that bad but not great either. Wasn't he sent to the US to get trained as a dancer? Still he's average in dancing. And yes he's stiff and a bit awkward. Armies, like always, overpraise him sometimes.

And the moment someone praises jimin dancing, those snakes just have to add hobi in it. Like dude they're talking about jimin. Armies just have some kind of problem with jimin getting praised over the other members. Idiots.

Also I saw some people saying that seven's choreo is so frat boyish and I laughed so hard because it was so true lol. It's not that bad. But he does look like a frat boy.

came across one of your posts about bh moving weirdly with their 7 or nothing agenda and ???? it really became apparent in the Daechwita/ CNS performance at muster like DONT get me wrong i love seeing them on stage together having fun and absolutely killin it but …. This could’ve been Yoongi’s one chance to promote his solo track solo and hobis chance to do the same (CNS has Becky too though so someone coming into do her verse is expected ig??? Idk feel like hobi could do it all LOL) and yeah bts killed it with Daechwita absolutely hobi ate that shit up but idk seeing yoongi rap for 20 seconds on his own track he barely got to promote was a little meh

Also speaking of online concerts I’ve stopped buying the tickets ever since bangbangcon where it was 65% ads for expensive massage chairs and vitamins and like 35% performances

i really appreciate that ! for me i just feel like it makes the story feel more honest when everyone is their own person, and exploring more of the spectrum of sexuality seems like a great way to do that. i really want to explore gender identity in tgm too since that's something i personally have been exploring myself but i'm waiting for a good opening so i'm not just wedging it in kdsfjkj

I kind of have a feeling about vmin but I'm going to wait for more 2020 content, if we ever get it. About TH, I've thought if maybe he regretted saying the imagination thing and that's why the TK content was even more intense right after that. When you're new and you look at the footage, it seems meh but believe me watching everythig as it happened was so weird. Literal whiplash. (1) Gonna write something else in another ask..

(2) Just today I saw a TKer saying "misinformation" spread in the fandom was that comment wasn't directed to shippers.. lol. But I kinda get them? Like you're being told a couple of times that something isn't real but there's still 24884 other times that seem to go against what was said and proof of why it COULD be real. You know what I mean? For example, there's been instances where JK rejected JM's hug & things like that and everyone says "so you're gonna ignore the 30 times he did hug him?"

(3) So it's the same for TKers I guess. They were told (very vaguely imo) on two ocassions that they were awkward with each other but there's still 4 years of content where they didn't really look awkward with each other.

Tae does touchy feely. That’s who he is. Like you said, you can’t watch some things and then ignore others. Tae is touchy feely with JK. Tae is touchy feely with Jin. Tae is touchy feely with Hobi, and I can continue. Knowing that he is being shipped with JK and telling TKK’s to get out of their fantasies, or in other words, to get a life, will not stop, in any way, his skinship. It’s part of who he is. I will tell you more than that. I sometimes find that Tae likes to rub things in our face, to be more than obvious with things he does and hints he gives. I have no idea if Tae’s skinship was amplified after his “get a life” Vlive or not. But if that was true it wouldn’t surprise me, and to me it would be not because he felt sorry for telling the fans to stop fantasizing about him and JK. To me, if he did that, it would be to say “I am not going to change my behaviour just because of your untrue fantasies.”

To understand what is real and what is not you should never rely on skinship alone or on edited footage. You need to see full footage and know when, where and context of what happened. Also, if Tae’s “get a life” Vlive was not enough, why don’t we listen to JK and Tae’s talk ITS??? Was that a hoax too? Really?

Both of them said they became distanced. JM had to drag JK under different pretences to go talk to Tae. Is that a hoax too?

I just finished reading Amae and my heart is overflowing with ardor and warmth at such a heartwarming tale. Your writing is some of the most handsome and well iterated I've read and I'm jumping in my seat for more. Hoseok is such a precious ray of sunshine that makes up a whole enigma of a man and reading these fluff pieces makes my heart swell and ache all at the same time. You weaved such an intricate and playful web of a story and it shows how masterful you are at your craft.

Previously on BTS mixtapes…

And here I am back again with some more nonsense thoughts on the updated BTS Spotify playlists.

Jungkook showing character development, yeahhh. This is still the softest playlist of the lot and personally it's not what I'm into, but compare it to his previous (not bad, but overlong and samey-sounding) one - look at this growth, look at this near-adherence to the form, look at how far he's come! This self-improvement meta-narrative is very JK and I'm into it. Also way to go including your new bros Khalid and Marshmello.

Jin’s is once again the most middle of the road. I think it's too harsh to say it's actually bad - yeah there's some meh, but there’s some great songs on here. Like I'd probably put Humble on my own playlist for 2017, despite it being too obvious, because sometimes the obvious is just the right thing, you know? The problem is there’s too much of that - I can't endorse this because it's all so safe. And for goodness' sake, Black Skinhead and Rap God were on his PREVIOUS playlist too, that's not on bro! (Gotta respect the perfectly in-character self-promo tho. You do you, bb!)

RM - NAMJOOOOOOON wow wow wow. This is it. This is #peak mixtape. Look at this handsome nerd's great taste! This is eclectic and personal and it WORKS. His first mixtape was good but this is BETTER, tighter and more focused while not losing his individuality. I like the inclusion of Kendrick's DNA which is both entirely in keeping with his hiphop tastes but also works like a little inside joke; I'm very into the 2Pac and Eminem, both songs I loved so much when I was younger; and I'm emotional about Dead! Also the inclusion of MCR and Lil Peep make me think that I'm not imagining the emo/post-punk influence on "Sea" and I'm into it. tl;dr I love this mixtape and I love RM.

J-Hope - Ooh, this feels very Jay-Hope! Quality-wise this feels on par with Yoongi's, and like Yoongi's I'd say it's a bit less personal and more consciously thematic. I kinda miss the quirkiness of his previous playlist, but this is a good mix anyway and I'd play this at your summer party. (If this is a pointer towards what hixxtape will sound like then… I'm ready.)

In conclusion: rap line slays again, with the greatest of ease, and Namjoon is clearly the MVP.

I know it's not a competition but I find it pretty interesting that rap line came up with 3 very good mixtapes, which perfectly adhere to the rules; and vocal line (minus JK) just… did their own post-mixtape thing. By 'post-mixtape' I mean, we're not limited anymore by format and time, or access to material, thanks to digital formats and streaming libraries. Vocal line reflects that freedom, with all the good and bad that comes with it - whereas rap line shows what you can do, how you can be creative within the restriction of the form.

it’s really sad to have grown up witn bts to have had them as a constant in my life through some of my most life changing years like I’m a 95 liner so these are boys around my age that I’ve rooted for yknow and these past few months I’ve just been… uninterested??? unmotivated???? to keep up with them and it’s the first time it’s happened to me. Of course I’ll always be happy for them and their success but it just feels like our values don’t really align anymore and of course they don’t because I’m not a millionaire I’m a low income entry level employee at a company lmfao I don’t blame them for this disconnect it was bound to happen because that’s what fame does. I will never doubt that they are genuine good people but at the end of the day they are also: people. humans who fuck up and make mistakes and they have a massive platform and a lot of fans who (for the lack of a better word) are brainwashed. so when they fuck up it’s normal to call them out — the teepees in some of their promotions that were never addressed, the JJ situation that was handled horribly and IMO covered up, and personally I had issues with hobis hair in CNS and I know I wasn’t alone but it was kinda forgotten about because of the money he put into CNS (good for him for that tho). This isn’t 2013 bangtan being ignorant this is RECENT and while 2013 bts were heavily called out for their actions, now it just seems like their blind fanbase will go to any lengths to defend them because bts apologized in 2013!!!! They aren’t ignorant anymore!!!!! And aside from questionable things THEYVE done (listed above) there is their company which is just *sigh* and I think all of this plus the fact that their recent music has been (to me) kinda bland and clearly just a way to top billboard means i don’t really feel like putting in my all to support them either. I know someone will come in and tell me my music taste is subjective and it is!!! if you love dynamite or butter or are super excited for PTD that’s awesome! and I’m happy for you! But on a personal level I feel a disconnect and on a personal level I’m a little meh about everything rn.

As always ty for being one of the sane ones around here. I’m happy to see others sharing in my opinions when I once thought I was alone. Also sorry this got long lol
